Despite the advertised return of The Rock to WWE TV, this week's edition of Raw scored a 3.1 cable rating, which is down from the previous week's 3.24 draw.
The show took in 4.65 million viewers, which is roughly equal to the amount of viewers the show took in last week, which was the post-Elimination Chamber PPV edition of Raw.___________________________________________ More proof the Rock is really doing nothing special for the WWE with his "special appearances." Both the Rock and Vince need a reality check. He's the not the "star" he thinks he is. He can't just "show up" and create money. If *wrestling* fans are going to tune in to see him they'' do it to see him *wrestle* (or not cough*survivorseries*cough) not make the same stupid noises and faces show while standing around in the ring for half an hour. Where are all these crossover fans the Rock was supposed to bring with him from Hollywood? They'll just blame the low rating on Punk/Bryan, or worse, Miz again. Cena can do no wrong in their eyes.

As Billy Gunn pointed out recently, as good as Rock is generally credited for on the mic, the dude has always BURIED other talent. Nothing can be more apparent now, as he makes sporadic appearances and CRAPS all over the roster that is usually there full time. I'm glad Cena is out there defending himself, and I do agree that he is out there fighting for the rest of the locker room.

Makes no sense to me at all. Well, that's hardly stopped the WWE in the past... I get where they're coming from, though, with regards to Rock not hanging around (though he's supposedly already pencilled in for WM29) and Cena staying on. Why would Rock, who's been doing movies for 10 years, need notes anyway? Because instead of winging it live in front of thousands he's been reading scripts for the past 10 years?[/quote] Everyone in wrestling has been doing scripts for the past 10 years. With the rare exception like some (though not all) of Punk's stuff, nobody is "winging it" anymore.

I am guessing they were real notes since Rock was out there for so long and I am sure he had certain points that HAD to be touched on in the promo. I like The Rock and Jericho.......but these part time wrestlers I will always root against. Even against someone like Cena who I can't stand. And Punk being my favorite current WWE guy doesn't hurt either. I think The Rock's promos have gone downhill. Maybe I expected too much out of him since his first promo when he came back was in my opinion was one of his best ever. I think Cena's promos have actually been a lot better than Rock's have been. I guess its just hard for me to get behind this since Rock was hardly in the WWE this past calendar year and the match was suppose to have a great 1 year build and it really hasn't.

Former WWE announcer and Rock buddy Kevin Kelly doesn't think it's a work...
OK, so The Rock was caught using a crib notes while taking a test on Monday and tattletale John Cena told. Big deal. But, does this go to Cena’s larger point? That Rock is a part-time player and his attention isn’t 100% fully on what he’s doing and is just playing a role.
I will let you in on a little secret from when Rock and I did promos together in the WWE.
The little toad writer Brian Gewirtz would sometimes hold up a piece of paper just off camera that Rock would glance at during his promo. Not all the time… only when he needed it. Some promos were easy, others were more complicated. When he had sunglasses on, he could read the whole thing if he wanted to and no one could tell.

no pete the Rock hasn't been READING scripts the past 10 years, he's been MEMORIZING his lines. what did he have to memorize monday? "Cena's lady parts"? Really? i guess it's for real that he had to , but it's hard to believe

I'm curious to see what they 'blame' the low rating on. IMO, it was due to Daytona. While it might not be the case in our little crew here, there IS alot of crossover... why do you think Cena was going to do the commmand?
Hell, if you believe LoP and the other dirt sheets, WWE strongly considered having him miss Raw to still be able to do so. The average NASCAR race gets rating a bit better than Raw, after all, with Daytona in particular generally doing about double that. I
