I've been considering starting, there are several really close to my house and I thought they'd be fairly easy to find. It seems like a fun diversion since I'm out all the time exercising anyway.
I was curious if anyone on here was into this and if you had advice, stories, etc.

It sounds like fun. Maybe my wife and I will check it out.

I trekked out today and found 4 near to my house. Had a ton of fun doing it and got a lot of exercise in the process.

One had various items in it. A flashlight, a pig toy, some cards, a mint, etc. All of them have a logbook that you sign to show that you found it. One was so small that it only had the log. One had a coin and some beads. One had a David Bowie cassette in it.

So you really are just trying to find these things for the adventure of it, not to actually find something of value.
In Minnesota the state parks had done some sort of a program where they had a geocaching spot located in all of the state parks and if you found it there were collectable cards of each park inside. So you could try to collect "trading" cards from all of the state parks. Kind of a neat idea I think. Not sure if it is still going on though.

I believe it's about the adventure. When you find a cache you take something and leave something of same or greater value, sign the logbook, and then put a notch in your belt. My wife and I are interested in it.

It's about the adventure and the challenge of finding it. I went out and went to places that I drive by all the time but never explore. I went to some parks and found old trails that aren't being maintained anymore.
I don't have anything to leave yet so I can't take anything but I plan to get some trinkets and start leaving things behind.

Added 2 more finds to my list for a total of 6 so far. There's one at a nearby Waffle House but there were too many people buzzing about for me to get more than a few seconds to look. Bummer, I'll have to return for round 2.
