Which is another good point: if GWF cards are $19 and so is online, then online should be released at the same time to reflect the same product.

Ummm....I was just asking when it was coming out and hoping if I asked nicely that it would be released tonight...relax guys!

The paper version of the 2128 is scheduled to be released on July 11 and the online version is released two days later. Due to the US mail, the people that ordered the online version will still get theirs first. The only way to get the paper version earlier is to pay extra for the next day shipping.

Hi gang. Taking a break at GCon...

I'd like to quickly share my reasons, wrongheaded as they may be, for the release dates.

It's been a tradition for many years that GCon is the official first "showing" for new stuff, a way of rewarding loyal promoters for making the trek to Jamestown. It helps make GCon special and is part of the fun of it.

After that my goal has been to make the new stuff available to traditional buyers (paper products) at the same time as online buyers. Again, it's a nod to the past, a way of respecting tradition i.e. the tabletop aspect of the game.

Since it's possible my reasoning is off base I'll revisit this policy. I want to respect tradition but I also want to make adjustments where necessary. Mostly I want people to ENJOY THE GAMES AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE! THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALWAYS ABOUT!

Okay I'll spill the beans: Games will begin shipping today (Saturday), some of you will receive them on Monday. The online version will also be available on Monday.

I hope this meets with your approval for the time being. Your enjoyment and pleasure is my final goal and I know you can't please all of the people all of the time but one thing I'll promise is I'm going to try! Each and every buyer is worth it! You guys are the greatest and your support has always been what keeps FG going.

I'm a bit distracted right now so I hope I addressed the main issues properly. I'm not always the greatest businessman, blundering and stumbling like the Mutant in the ring against Monolith, but one thing you can count on is pride and passion for the games.

You mean you're not in stately Filsinger manor, high upon the mountain top and laughing at the online players while rolling around in piles of money? You do this for the fans and your passion for your games? You don't get filthy stinking rich and jet set around the world off of the money earned from Wolf cards?

I suppose my strategy would be..

Day 1: Galacticon release.
Day 2: Mail release
Day 3: Online release.

So far so as Tom has it... but I'd be tempted to put the online release back to day 5 or 6.
But, anyone who ordered both card and online sets would get instant online access to the stuff, and a price reduction on the online edition.

Thanks Tom! We are all human and make mistakes from time to time, but I can say the great thing about Tom is is that he goes out of his way to make his fans/customers happy with his products. Every time, I have talked to Tom on the phone over the years, he has seemed humbled and a great guy.

So, thanks again Tom for taking the time to address this issue on the boards and take time away from G-Con to mail out the print copies so the online customers can have theirs sooner as well.

There is nowhere in the Galaxy more passionate fans or a more passionate business owner. Unfortunately that will always lead to the age old problem of not being able to make everyone happy.

But in the 15+ years I've played COTG, Tom has damn sure tried his hardest.

Cool that it will release Monday now instead, although a release on Friday the 13th had a little mystique to it given the Black Death series name. Thanks Tom!
