Great results, Tim! I'm interested to see how the team of Bob Roop and the Sean Davis Project do. And I'm really excited to see who comes out of the big Three Way Dance the champ!

Card #438 – June 3, 2011 Akron Armory – Akron, OH
On March 12, 2010, fans at the Armory saw Steve Williams capture the NWF Title for a second time by defeating Ted DiBiase. Tonight, Dr. Death faces DiBiase AND Terry Gordy in a No Holds Barred Three Way Dance that has been the talk of the wrestling world since it was announced. Also on the card, Bob Roop teams with The Sean Davis Project to face the Russians, Bob Armstrong squares off against Larry Hennig, the Crusaders tackle the Mongols and much more! Let’s get to the action…
Danny Doring b Phil Davis In a lively opener, Dastardly Danny got the win with the Danaconda after Fabulous Phil missed a top rope splash.
Bob Roop & The Sean Davis Project b Ivan Koloff & Boris Zhukov The sellout crowd at the Armory was thrilled to see The Sean Davis Project (looking funk-a-licious) come to the ring as Roop’s latest fill-in partner against Larry Sharpe’s Russians. It was a very good match, but eventually Koloff & Zhukov began working SDP over. Koloff got a little overconfident when going for a top rope kneedrop, stopping to jaw at the fans while perched on the turnbuckle. The extra time allowed SDP to barely roll out of the way and make the tag to Roop. The former Olympian came in and quickly used a Shoulder Breaker to pin Koloff before Zhukov or Sharpe could interfere.
Magnum T.A. b Larry Sharpe It was a surprise that Sharpe signed for this bout on a night when Terry Gordy would be challenging for the NWF Title in the main event. Magnum was after him from the opening bell, but Sharpe ran and stalled for several minutes before the first lockup. Ivan Koloff did show up briefly and break up a pin attempt, but was run off quickly by Bob Roop. Magnum took over soon afterward and won with a Belly to Belly Suplex.
Roy Heffernan b Red Bastien Heffernan, who had won both his singles bouts during 2011, started out slowly in a scientific battle against the always dangerous Bastien. After a while Heffernan lost his patience and started taking shortcuts. After brawling on the floor and aggressively working over Red’s leg, Heffernan won with the Stepover Toehold.
Kip Cornette & Bobby Eaton b Brad & Brian Armstrong Brian and Kip have really been at each others’ throats of late. It took a while before they were in the ring together tonight, because Kip would tag out whenever Brian would tag in. When they finally did meet, all hell broke loose and the action immediately spilled onto the Armory floor. Just when it looked like the Armstrong brothers were going to get the win, Cornette threw some kind of powder in Brian’s face while the referee was distracted. Kip quickly took advantage, using the Standing Leg Drop to get the pin. Not only was Jim Cornette thrilled with the win, but also began touting his “brother” as a top contender for the singles titles.
Curt Hennig cor “Playboy” Buddy Rose With Johnny Valentine now out of the picture, Bobby “The Brain” Heenan and the Heenan Family are even more egotistical and arrogant than ever. They had better be careful, because Harley Race and Nick Bockwinkel are still around and both are anxious to take Heenan and his stable down. Rose, undefeated since his return to the area, took on Hennig, who had won only once in his last seven bouts (most of Hennig’s losses came as a direct result of the Heenan Family’s blatant interference). Once again Rose surprised everyone, scoring several early near falls and wearing down the former NWF Champion. Hennig made a comeback with the help of a timely distraction from his father but still couldn’t put Rose away. The bout ended when Rose chased Curt out of the ring but got leveled by an Axe from Larry Hennig and counted out.
Crusaders b Mongols The first meeting between these teams saw the Mongols quickly disqualified. The result of the second bout was a tainted victory for the savage Croatians. This time, the Crusaders used their speed to control the pace, keeping their larger opponents off balance. Match of the Year caliber action that saw the masked men uncharacteristically aggressive. Both Geeto & Bepo were bleeding badly by the end of the contest which saw Crusader #2 submit Geeto with the Figure 4 while #1 launched himself onto both Bepo and Sir Oliver Humperdink to prevent interference.
Bob Armstrong dq Larry Hennig The patriarchs of two of the most successful father-son duos went one-on-one after last week’s wild double disqualification tag-team brawl. Bullet Bob was as fired up for this as if he was wrestling Jim Cornette. Armstrong completely dominated the action, damaging Hennig with karate strikes and wearing him down with the Sleeper. Bobby Heenan and Curt were going crazy at ringside watching the one-sided carnage. When Bob finally locked in the Sleeper, Curt hit the ring carrying a steel chair, followed closely by Heenan. Curt smashed Bob in the lower back with the chair and the three men put the boots to the Bullet. The Armstrong brothers got to the ring quickly to break things up, but it looked like Bob might need a few weeks to recover from the attack. Not surprisingly, when Commissioner Cornette was asked about fines or suspensions for Heenan and the Hennigs, he smiled and said wrestling is a tough sport and the Armstrongs need to stop being such babies.
NWF Championship: STEVE WILLIAMS b Terry Gordy and Ted DiBiase (No Holds Barred Three Way Dance) It was the long awaited final showdown between the three men who had held the NWF Title for all but three weeks since Christmas of 2009. It began as a feud between former tag champs Williams & DiBiase, but Gordy (also a former tag partner of Williams) entered the fray late in 2010. Bamm Bamm went on a long unbeaten streak, finally ended by the loaded black glove of DiBiase back in March. Williams, after a slow start in 2011, has been a powerhouse recently after the three traded the title constantly early in the year. At the STEEL BELT CLASH in April, Gordy won a non-title Three Way Dance that had a sellout crowd on the edge of their seats the entire time. Likely because of the success of that contest, the Three Way Dance format was chosen for the final confrontation as well, but under Falls Count Anywhere and Texas Death rules to guarantee a definitive conclusion. Gordy and DiBiase started and, after some exchanges in ring, all hell broke loose. Complete brawl with all three that went all over the arena. Fans were scattering left and right as the action saw no boundaries. Referee Bucky Palermo had his hands full just trying to follow the wrestlers around. Any kind of ringside plunder became a weapon and blood was flowing freely. Williams scored the first elimination on the arena floor, using the Oklahoma Stampede into the steel ringpost to pin Gordy. Doc and DiBiase, both bloody and exhausted, climbed back into the ring. After knocking Williams down with a dropkick, DiBiase blatantly loaded his black glove while signaling to the fans that this was the end. As he turned around, he was met with a devastating football tackle from Williams and both collapsed to the mat. Doc flopped an arm over DiBiase’s chest and Palermo counted the fall to bring a dramatic end to this intense feud. By virtue of the match stipulations, neither Gordy nor DiBiase can challenge for the title for at least 120 days.
A night of outstanding action in Akron sees another heinous attack by the Heenan Family, a big win for the Crusaders and then ends with Steve Williams retaining the title in spectacular fashion! Next week, we’ll be back in Pittsburgh, where the fans can look forward to more intense competition from the world’s greatest grapplers! Here’s the current lineup:
* The Crusaders an Mongols will meet in singles action, although the individual matchups have not yet been determined. This is a feud that seems to heat up with each passing week!
* Look for “U.S.A.” chants to fill the Civic Arena when former Olympian and former NWF Champion Bob Roop squares off against “Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff, the man primarily responsible for injuring Bob Orton, Jr.!
* You knew the Armstrong family wouldn’t sit still after the unprovoked attack on their patriarch earlier this evening. Next week we’ll see Brad & Brian Armstrong team up to take on the Heenan Family when they face Larry & Curt Hennig!
* Since returning to the area, Ray Stevens has looked better than ever. Next week he’ll face one of the NWF’s all-time greats when he tangles with Harley Race in what could be a show stealer!
* On May 20th, Red Pepper became the first tag-team to defeat the Fabulous Kangaroos since July 2010. Your big main event will see Red Bastien & Pepper Gomez try to finish what they started and win the gold! The Kangaroos have come close to losing the belts several times, but have shown amazing resiliency during their record setting reign. Will this finally be the end of a historic reign, or will Red Pepper wind up as just another team that provided a tough challenge but fell short in the end?
We'll see you next week in the Steel City!

Cornette Announcement Shocks Heenan Family! Jim Cornette has abused his power as Commissioner in the past, but his latest statement has made a potential enemy of close friend Bobby Heenan! After a situation last week where Cornette chose to ignore possible sanctions against the Heenan Family for their unprovoked attack on Bob Armstrong, the Commissioner named his adopted brother Kip Cornette as the top contender for the North American title held by Heenan-managed Buddy Rogers! “The Brain” was not happy about the announcement, thinking that his friendship with Cornette would keep the two factions from ever meeting inside the squared circle. Cornette reacted by saying this is “strictly business” and that Kip is an “elite level athlete and bona fide #1 contender” to the title. Kip has won more singles matches than any other competitor this year, but against mostly inferior competition. Once again it seems that Cornette is putting his best interest at the forefront and letting other qualified contenders suffer. The Commissioner noted that he considers Heenan a close personal friend and expects an exciting scientific match between the wrestlers, who will meet on June 17th in Altoona, PA. Most insiders and fans are skeptical. You have to assume Cornette will appoint inept referee Izzy Moidel to officiate and, given both stables’ penchant for liberal interference, it will likely be a volatile situation when these two grapplers meet!

Humperdink Renews Vow to End Champ’s Career! Portly manager Sir Oliver Humperdink has carried a grudge against current NWF Champion Steve “Dr. Death” Williams for quite some time. With Terry Gordy no longer in the title picture, Humperdink says he will use “any means necessary” to end Williams’ career within the twelve months. “Steve Williams will not only be out of the NWF by this time next year, but will be out of wrestling completely!” spouted a fired up Humperdink. “He will be wearing a cheap suit and selling insurance or used cars to a bunch of his idiot fans! I will go down in history as the man who knocked Dr. Death out of the ring and put him behind a desk!” Luckily for Humperdink, Geeto Mongol has had an outstanding year in singles competition and is likely in line for a future shot at the title. Williams will certainly be on guard, but one can only guess what the obsessed Humperdink is planning in the future.

Card #439 – June 10, 2011 Civic Arena – Pittsburgh, PA
The NWF is back in the Steel City with a loaded show! The Crusaders and Mongols will face each other in singles action, the Armstrong brothers look to avenge a Heenan Family attack on their father as they battle Larry & Curt Hennig, and Harley Race tackles Ray Stevens! Your big main event will see the Fabulous Kangaroos once again defend the tag-team titles against the only duo to defeat them in almost a year when they face Red Pepper! No more waiting, let’s get to the action…
Masked Superstar & Big John Studd b S.D. Jones & Johnny Rodz Superstar & Studd have made it clear they expect to return to the top of the tag-team division soon, but also realize they have to rebuild their reputation as one of the toughest and meanest teams in the world. It didn’t take long. Studd dominated Rodz and chose to inflict further damage rather than attempt a pin. S.D. finally got in and had a little offense before Superstar locked him in the sleeper to get the win. Both Studd & Superstar put the boots to both their opponents after the bell.
Crusader #2 b Bepo Mongol Although the Crusaders hold an edge in their recent tag-team encounters, Sr Oliver Humperdink’s savage Mongols have prevailed in the singles matches. It looked like that trend would continue thanks to some timely interference by Humperdink. Luckily, #2 was able to counter and jump on the big Croatian’s back and lock in the Sleeper! Trapped in the middle of the mat and with Humperdink being chased around the ringside area by Crusader #1 it wasn’t long before Bepo was sound asleep and Crusader #2 chalked up his first singles win of the year.
Playboy Buddy Rose dq Bobby Heenan The Playboy challenged Heenan after last week’s show, but never expected “the Brain” would accept. Of course Heenan brought his entire “family” to ringside. When referee Paddy Grimes tried to remove them, he found they all had a temporary 24 hour manager’s license granted by the Pennsylvania Athletic Commission. Heenan gloated and Rose knew he had an uphill battle. Still, the Playboy smacked Heenan around a little and even landed a Bombs Away Kneedrop before being swarmed by the mob at ringside. Grimes immediately disqualified Heenan, and Rose managed to escape unscathed thanks to a quick arrival by Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens.
Geeto Mongol b Crusader #1 The Crusaders were looking for a clean sweep over the Mongols in singles action, but came up short. Geeto won with a Top Rope Kneedrop after a back and forth match. With the victory, Geeto cemented a title shot against Steve Williams in two weeks. The head Mongol’s only 2011 loss was to Williams back in March. Since last June, Geeto has compiled a very impressive 12-3-1 singles record.
Magnum T.A. b Boris Zhukov Zhukov has been angling for a rematch with Magnum, blaming his loss a few weeks ago on the fact that “Pretty Boy” Larry Sharpe was not advising him from ringside for the entire match. The fans have really taken to the undefeated Magnum, who dominated the action from bell to bell. Zhukov was in need of some interference after a Belly to Belly Suplex, but Sharpe was intently talking to someone on his cell phone and missed the finish.
Brad & Brian Armstrong cor Larry & Curt Hennig The Armstrongs are a very close family and, when you mess with Bullet Bob, you can bet the boys are going to come looking for you. After the Hennigs put Bob out of action for a few weeks with their attack in Akron, Brad & Brian were practically begging for this match. The Hennigs were confident that with Bobby Heenan and Buddy Rogers at ringside, things would go their way. However, referee Bucky Palermo threw a wrench in the plan by ordering Rogers back to the locker room! The Armstrong brothers took advantage and took an early advantage once the bell rang. Eventually the Hennigs came back, but not for long. Once Brad started to control the action against Curt, both Hennigs bailed out and walked out on the match, resulting in a countout victory for the Armstrongs.
Bob Roop b Ivan Koloff Roop has had a rough time coping with Larry Sharpe’s Russians ever since tag partner Bob Orton, Jr. went down to injury right before the STEEL BELT CLASH. This time, Roop got a little help as Sharpe once again sent most of his time at ringside on the cell phone. Without Sharpe to worry about, Roop got down to business and won with the Shoulder Breaker in a hard fought match. Afterward, Koloff confronted Sharpe at ringside, but the two seemed to come to a mutual understanding and left without any further problem.
Harley Race b Ray Stevens Stevens was unbeaten since his return to the area while Race hadn’t been at the top of his game lately. Each agreed to have no one at ringside for the bout, which was a refreshing change. After a see saw match that saw both get an early near fall before settling down, Race stuffed a Piledriver attempt by Stevens and reversed to a Piledriver of his own. Stevens made an attempt to kick out, but it looked like he got a shoulder up just after referee Mark Curtis counted the fall. Stevens wasn’t happy with the official decision, and got in Curtis’ face after the bell.
NWF Tag-Team Championship: Red Pepper b FABULOUS KANGAROOS to win titles Three weeks ago in Niagara Falls, Red Pepper became the first team to earn a victory over the champions since July 2010. In this contest, the champions came out strong looking to put away yet another duo in a long list of challengers. Gomez got in trouble early, but managed to finally make the tag to Bastien. The Kangaroos were getting outwrestled and soon resorted to their old selves, using every dirty trick they could think of to gain an advantage. The crowd, originally about 50/50 for each team, started getting behind Red Pepper causing the Aussies to lash out with several verbal assaults to the fans at ringside. The bout turned into a classic back and forth struggle with momentum changing in the blink of an eye. Out of nowhere, the Kangaroos hit the Boomerang on Bastien and Costello rolled him into a small package. While referee Andy DePaul was putting Heffernan out of the ring Gomez came in and reversed the pinning combination! DePaul counted two before Heffernan was back in to break up the pin. There was a scramble and, In the middle of everything, DePaul got hit hard and went down. Costello grabbed the referee by the collar and began shaking him violently, perhaps trying to revive him, but doing some damage as well. As DePaul regained his senses, Gomez came up from behind with a schoolboy. Three seconds later, Red Pepper was in the history books. After a record setting 16+ months as champions, the Fabulous Kangaroos had finally been beaten! The crowd went from momentary stunned silence to loud cheering, knowing they had witnessed a special moment in the organization’s history.
Another historic night at the Civic Arena! A very emotional and memorable climax to a great evening of wrestling action with Bastien capturing the gold for the third time with three different partners. This will be hard to top as we head east to Altoona for next week’s big event! Here’s the lineup:
* It appears “Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff and “Pretty Boy” Larry Sharpe have worked out their differences. The two will team up next week to battle former Olympian Bob Roop and undefeated phenom Magnum T.A. at the Jaffa Mosque!
* Brad Armstrong was clearly getting the best of Curt Hennig during tonight’s tag match, but will face the former NWF and North American champ one-on-one!
* Sir Oliver Humperdink is stepping up his efforts to end the career of Steve Williams. Next week Humperdink will send his savage Mongols to face Williams and Crusader #1 in tag-team action!
* Although both may now be out of the title picture, Ted DiBiase and Terry Gordy still have no love for one another. The two former champs will continue their intense feud in Altoona with both looking to gain a decided advantage over the other!
* Your big main event will see “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers defend the North American Title against Kip Cornette in what has become a very bitter conflict between Jim Cornette and the Heenan Family! Cornette’s continued abuse of power as the NWF’s Commissioner has reached new levels. By anointing his adopted brother the top contender for the belt, he’s willingly alienated long-time associate Bobby Heenan. Who knows what will happen in this wild bout in Altoona?

Card #440 – June 17, 2011 Jaffa Mosque – Altoona, PA
It was only seven days ago that Red Pepper upended the Kangaroos for the tag gold, and this week Kip Cornette is the challenger looking to take down North American Champion “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers. The fans in Altoona will also see the Midnight Express in singles action, the savage Mongols facing Steve Williams and Crusader #1, second generation stars Brad Armstrong and Curt Hennig squaring off, former champs Ted DiBiase and Terry Gordy one-on-one in addition to several other great matches! Let’s get to the action…
Bob Roop & Magnum T.A. b Ivan Koloff & Larry Sharpe Koloff has been frustrated with Sharpe the last couple of weeks and clearly wanted no part of this match. Shortly after the bell, Ivan tagged in the Pretty Boy and would not tag back in for the remainder of the bout. Every time Sharpe would attempt a tag, Koloff would be conveniently distracted or tying his boots. Sharpe was tossed around by both opponents before Magnum planted him with a Belly to Belly Suplex for the pin.
Bobby Eaton b S.D. Jones Jim Cornette doesn’t consider Philadelphia’s Favorite Son as much competition, but still remembers that it was Jones who ended brother Kip’s winning streak back in February. Beautiful Bobby took control early and won after rolling S.D. up with a handful of tights after a spinning neckbreaker.
Masked Superstar b Boris Zhukov Perhaps upset by Koloff’s attitude earlier in the evening, Larry Sharpe was not at ringside for this bout, however both tag partners were present. Referee Andy “Kid” DePaul had his hands full, as both men had no regard for the rules and were brawling from the start. Superstar busted the Russian open by ramming him into the steel ringpost during an altercation on the floor. Later, a Spinning Neckbreaker did Zhukov in, as Big John Studd stopped Koloff from breaking up the pin.
Larry Hennig b Dennis Condrey Loverboy Dennis was originally scheduled to face unheralded Israel Matia, but that changed quickly. Angered that Commissioner Jim Cornette was pulling strings to get “brother” Kip a title shot in tonight’s main event, Bobby Heenan sent Larry “The Axe” Hennig to destroy Matia before the bell. Heenan and Hennig challenged Condrey and, after some nervous stalling by Cornette, the match began. Both managers started out fairly reserved but, by the end, were screaming at one another. Hennig used his brute strength well and eventually put Condrey away with The Axe.
Mongols dq Steve Williams & Crusader #1 With Terry Gordy out of the title picture, Sir Oliver Humperdink has become even more crazed with his obsession of ending Steve Williams’ career. As his savage Mongols are feuding with the Crusaders, this match was a natural. Unfortunately, the animosity that has built up between the Mongols and Crusaders ended the bout quickly. The action spilled onto the floor and Bepo grabbed his chains to bash Crusader #1. Doc came up from behind Bepo, snatched the chains away and tossed them to his masked partner. The Crusader, showing he had reached his limit with the wild Croatians, wrapped his right hand in the chains and clocked Bepo which caused a immediate disqualification by referee Paddy Grimes. After the bell, Geeto jumped Williams and the two brawled all around the ringside area and into the seats. People were scrambling to get out of the way as chairs went flying in various directions. Eventually Geeto disengaged and fled to the locker room with Humperdink and Bepo.
Curt Hennig b Brad Armstrong After last week’s bout that saw the Armstrong brothers earn a countout victory over the Hennigs, Brad was pretty hot and looking for a singles match against Curt. Of course, you never really fight one member of the Heenan Family, you fight them all. That was Brad’s downfall here. Even with brother Brian at ringside, there was way too much going on for referee Mark Curtis to keep track of. After dominating much of the action, Brad got blindsided with a foreign object and knocked out. Hennig quickly locked on a sleeper to cover for his actions and pick up the tainted win.
Harley Race & Red Bastien b Ray Stevens & Playboy Buddy Rose Harley continued his streak of matches against Nick Bockwinkel’s cohorts in this tag bout with half of the new tag-team champions in his corner. A great fast-paced match that saw everyone getting some shots in. Race, who recently went to a double countout with Rose, really put the pressure on the Playboy. Bastien, with his great timing and fluid style, showed why he is widely considered the greatest tag wrestler in NWF history. In the end, Race chased down Rose and used the Piledriver to get the win.
Ted DiBiase dq Terry Gordy Although both men are now barred from title contention, the tension between the former champions is still thick. That was evident from the opening bell as the action spilled out of the ring almost immediately. Both men threw the rulebook out the window, and referee Bucky Palermo disqualified Gordy for using a steel chair to blatantly smash DiBiase.
North American Championship: BUDDY ROGERS b Kip Cornette In an eye popping abuse of his power as Commissioner, Jim Cornette made his adopted brother Kip the #1 contender for the North American Title. He also assigned inept Izzy Moidel to officiate the bout. Bobby Heenan, previously a close friend of Cornette, immediately went off the deep end. The two managers have been trading heated (albeit entertaining) rants over the past couple of weeks, which led to Heenan’s retaliation earlier in the night against Dennis Condrey. The cheating is this one was unbelievable. Both managers had Moidel running around watching everything but the action in the ring. At one point, Larry Hennig clotheslined Kip on the arena floor while Moidel was busy with Heenan. Later, Cornette broke up a Figure Four Grapevine by irritating Rogers so much that the champ released the hold to chase the manager around the ring. Heenan got the last laugh, distracting Moidel while Curt Hennig tripped Kip, allowing Rogers to piledrive him and retain the title.
Looks like a little friction is building between Larry Sharpe and the Russians. No surprise that the hostilities between DiBiase and Gordy led to a non-finish. Bitter defeat for Jim Cornette in tonight’s main event, but be certain that he is already plotting his next move. Next week, our Canadian fans will once again be treated to a fantastic show! Here’s the lineup:
* Ted DiBiase and Terry Gordy aren’t about to let their feud fall by the wayside just because they can’t challenge for the NWF Title! Next week, the two will meet in a tag-team match, although the partners for each have yet to be named.
* In what is expected to be a crazy encounter, a special Triple Threat Match has been signed featuring a trio of feuding teams! Brad & Brian Armstrong will certainly be the crowd favorites when they meet Larry & Curt Hennig and “Loverboy” Dennis Condrey & Kip Cornette in Ontario! Don’t expect a lot of cooperation between the rulebreaker teams, as the Cornette and Heenan camps are not on good terms at all! Hopefully everyone remembers to bring their passports.
* Young phenom Magnum T.A. faces his toughest task to date when he battles the Masked Superstar! Both men have perfect records for 2011, and one of them will leave the Memorial Coliseum sporting their first loss of the year!
* In your big main event, NWF Champion Steve Williams will face Sir Oliver Humperdink’s latest challenger, Geeto Mongol! The savage Croatian has been defeated only once in 2011 and has risen to the top of the singles rankings. Humperdink, obsessed with ending Williams’ career, would love to see his man demolish the champion and take the title. Any bout featuring these two powerhouses will definitely be a sight to behold!
We’ll see you next week in beautiful Niagara Falls, Ontario!

*** NWF BREAKING NEWS ***
Sharpe to Sell Monster Factory! New Owner Revealed in Startling Press Conference! “Pretty Boy” Larry Sharpe once again stunned the wrestling community when he announced he had reached an agreement to sell the Monster Factory. In a press conference, Sharpe stated the agreement will be effective as of July 1st and include assigning all current wrestler contracts ( Ted DiBiase, Ivan Koloff and Boris Zhukov) to the new ownership. When asked about the purchaser, Sharpe smiled and introduced the latest addition to the NWF… Eddie Gilbert! Dressed in an expensive suit and wearing sunglasses, Gilbert shook Sharpe’s hand and the two addressed the assembled media. The Monster Factory will be absorbed under Gilbert’s own corporate entity, Hot Stuff International as of July. When asked how he was able to circumvent Commissioner Jim Cornette’s moratorium on new managers, Gilbert stated he is simply a corporate executive who will be at ringside to observe from time to time. He went on to clarify that, while he is “one of the greatest wrestling talents of this or any era”, his status in the NWF is as an investor and there are no plans for him to compete at this time. When asked about the change, Ted DiBiase looked forward to Eddie’s arrival, reflecting on the storied success of the Gilbert family in the industry. Koloff & Zhukov didn’t seem as enthused. The two Russians don’t seem to think that any one American is better than another. Koloff said as long as they keep getting paid, he and Zhukov will continue on their path of destruction and eventually become tag-team champions, no matter who is signing their checks. In what will likely be his final in-ring appearance, the “Pretty Boy” will team with Ted DiBiase against Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy & Sir Oliver Humperdink on Friday night in Canada.

*** MORE NWF BREAKING NEWS *** Orton and Bullet Return Dates! Cornette Debacle Continues! After a lengthy layoff, Bob Orton, Jr. is ready to make his return to the wrestling ring! Orton has not wrestled since being injured during a cowardly attack by Larry Sharpe’s deadly tandem of Ivan Koloff & Boris Zhukov on April 8th in Monroeville. Orton will reunite with tag partner Bob Roop to face the Russians at the Memorial Coliseum in Niagara Falls this coming Friday night! Roop has been teaming with various grapplers while eagerly awaiting Orton’s return. The duo had been on quite a hot streak before the injury, and hope to renew their pursuit of the tag-team titles with a victory in the Great White North! In other welcome news, Bob Armstrong has been cleared to return to action as well! The Bullet will likely make his return to action the following week on July 1st in Johnstown, PA! In some not so welcome news, Commissioner Jim Cornette announced that with a convincing win over “perennial top contender” S.D. Jones in Altoona, Beautiful Bobby has become the new #1 contender for Buddy Rogers’ North American Title. Cornette’s abuse of his power as Commissioner is beginning to reach absurd heights.
