YES! Brent takes the gold! AWESOME! It was a nice surprise. Albright's been a top championship prospect for me after the first few times I used his card. I'm hoping he'll be able to defend it more than once. I still haven't decided who his first challenger will be, although I know he's dying to prove he can beat Antonio Inoki...

Ring of Victory Battlefield episode 161: The show opened with the announcement of the upcoming War of the Worlds Pay Per View. Curt Hennig issued a challenge at the top of the show, saying he wanted to prove he was the Perfect wrestler and said he would prove it by beating the AWF's best wrestler, Jim Londos, at War of the Worlds! Superfriends vs. Roughnecks: The Roughnecks attacked the Superfriends before the opening bell. Lee and Quackenbush tumbled out of the ring. Kingston hit the urange suplex on Hero for the quick win. Ring of Victory Grand Champion Brent Albright was interviewed and challenged Antonio Inoki, saying he knows he can defeat him. Nigel McGuinness vs. Crossbones: Nigel scored near falls with the short arm lariat and the jawbreaker lariat right off the bat. Crossbones rebounded and overpowered McGuinness until MGuinness was able to make a comeback and defeat Crossbones with the jawbreaker lariat. Frank Gotch vs. Tyler Black: Black started strong but Gotch attacked his legs, limiting his offense. Gotch scored a near fall with the rolling knee bar and quickly put Black away with the Gotch Toe Hold. ROV Tag Team champions Rikidozan & Bryan Danielson challenged AWF Tag Team Double Crown champions Harley Race & Bob Roop, saying it was time to find out who the best tag team in the world is! Jimmy Jacobs vs. Adrian Street: Jacobs and Adrian Street fought a fast-paced match. The match spilled out of the ring and Sabu and Rob Van Dam came out of the crowd and attacked Jacobs! Tyler Black returned to ringside and the four men battled around the ring until security arrived. The referee ruled the match a no contest. Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. Buddy Rose & Curt Hennig: London & Kendrick isolated Rose and dismantled him. London hit the 450 and tagged in Kendrick. Kendrick got the win with the Sliced Bread #2. After the match, Kendrick got on the mic and said they'd love to accept the challenge of the Love Brothers. Andre the Giant vs. Masked Superstar II: After a few tense moments early on, Andre dominated Superstar II, scoring near falls with the bodyslam and the headbutt before getting the win via the Big Splash. After the match, Killer Kowalski slid under the bottom rope attacked Andre from behind! Superstar recovered and the show went off the air with the two big men double teaming Andre the Giant! next week: - Paul London vs. Reginald Love

Ring of Victory Battlefield episode 162: London & Kendrick vs. Delirious & Ultramantis Black: London & Kendrick destroyed Delirious and Ultramantis. After wearing down Delirious with their double team attack, Delirious tagged out and Ultramantis fell victim to the same tactics. After an assisted shooting star press and a reverse sto, Kendrick put Mantis away with the double foot stomp. After the match, the Love Brothers attacked London & Kendrick from behind. The two teams battled to the back where they were pulled apart by security. Claudio Castagnoli vs. Crossbones: Claudio destroyed Crossbones, winning with the Ricola bomb. Arick Stevens vs. Drake Younger: Stevens bulldozed Younger, scoring a near fall with the overhead release suplex before getting the win with the Doctor Bomb. Bryan Danielson vs. Bob Roop: Danielson dominated Roop early on, scoring near falls with the suplex arsenal, the cross armbreaker, and a suicide dive. Danielson whipped Roop to the buckles and Roop moved out of the way. Roop took over, hitting the shoulder breaker and two gutwrench backbreakers for near falls. Roop hit the shoulder breaker a second time for the win. Andre the Giant & Jimmy Snuka vs. Masked Superstar II & Killer Kowalski: Snuka and Superstar exchanged blows for a while. It looked as if Snuka was in trouble but he made the hot tag to Andre. Andre took control and hit the sitdown splash twice on Superstar. He went for the big splash but Superstar moved and tagged in Kowalski. Kowalski had Andre in trouble and locked on the Kowalski Claw. It looked as if the Giant may be on the verge of submitting but Snuka made the save. Andre bounced back and put Kowalski away with the Big Splash. Brent Albright vs. Antonio Inoki - ROV Grand Championship: Inoki controlled the match for the opening minutes. Inoki took Albright down and Albright wisely rolled out of the ring to stay away from Inoki's lethal feet. Inoki followed Albright out but Albright took control on the outside. He rolled Inoki back in and locked on the Crowbar but Inoki made it to the ropes. Inoki made it to his feet but Albright hit the half nelson suplex, further weakening Inoki's shoulder. Albright locked on the Crowbar a second time but again Inoki made it to the ropes. Albright wrenched Inoki's arm and dragged him into the center of the ring before locking on the Crowbar a third time for the win. next week: - Brian Kendrick vs. Reginald Love

Ring of Victory Battlefield episode 163: The Naptown Dragons vs. Delirious & Ultramantis Black: Scotty Vortekz and Delirious quickly spilled out of the ring and Vortekz was caught smashing Delirious on the steel steps, drawing the DQ. Claudio Castagnoli vs. Ricky Landell (with Larry Zbyszko): Castagnoli mauled Landell, winning with the scissors kick. After the match, Landell and Zbyszko double teamed Claudio and were about to spike piledrive him until Magnum TA made the save. Brian Kendrick (with Paul London) vs. Reginald Love (with Hartford Love): Reginald Love persistently taunted the ROV crowd while working Kendrick over. Reginald hit the Atomic Drop three times but couldn't put Kendrick away. Kendrick made a comeback and hit Sliced Bread #2 for the win. After the match, the two teams faced off but security was able to get between them. Curt Hennig vs. King Kong Bundy: Hennig attacked Bundy before the opening bell and pushed him out of the ring between the ropes. Hennig grabbed a beer bottle and smashed it over Bundy's head, busting him open and earning the DQ. After the match, Hennig grabbed the mic and told Jim Londos to watch. Hennig proceeded to cut Bundy's head open with a piece of the glass before security mobbed the ring. Jimmy Snuka (with Andre the Giant) vs. Masked Superstar II (with Killer Kowalski): Snuka and Superstar brawled back and forth. Kowalski distracted Snuka and Superstar took control and put Snuka away with the backbreaker. Rikidozan vs. Bob Roop: Rikidozan mauled Bob Roop, hitting the scoop slam for a near fall and then put Roop away with the Thunderous Chops. next week: - Claudio Castagnoli vs. Larry Zbyszko

Ring of Victory Battlefield episode 164: Naptown Dragons vs. the Backseat Boys: Acid and Kashmere isolated Vortekz and wore him down. Cashmere hit two cradle breakers and tagged Acid in. Acid hit the Acid Bomb for a near fall and tagged Kashmere. The Backseat Boys hit the T-Gimmick for the win. Claudio Castagnoli (with Magnum TA) vs. Larry Zbyszko (with Ricky Landell): Zbyszko took Castagnoli to school and scored a quick pin with the piledriver. After the match, a wild brawl broke out and the faces cleaned house. Paul London (with Brian Kendrick) vs. Hartford Love (with Reginald Love): London and Love wrestled a back and forth match. London scored a near fall with the Oklahoma Sideroll and then hit the 450 Splash for the win. Jimmy Snuka (with Andre the Giant) vs. Killer Kowalski (with Masked Superstar II): Kowalski attacked Snuka before the bell and locked on the Kowalski Claw for the win. Rikidozan vs. Harley Race: Race and Rikidozan fought a physical match. Harley took control and gave Rikidozan three piledrivers but couldn't put him away. Finally, Race locked on the Indian Deathlock for the win. Curt Hennig vs. Masked Superstar: Hennig and Superstar wrestled a back and forth match. Hennig took control after a missed turnbuckle charge and hit the HennigPlex for the win. Ring of Victory Battlefield episode 165: Naptown Dragons vs. The Young Bucks: The Young Bucks used their double team tactics to wear down the Dragons. Nick got the pin after More Bang for Your Buck on Vortekz.
Andre the Giant vs. J.D. Michaels: Andre squashed Michaels, winning with the Big Splash. After the match, Andre got on the mic and told Kowalski he'd destroy him at War of the Worlds.
Claudio Castagnoli & Magnum TA vs. Larry Zbyszko & Ricky Landell: Magnum started the match with Zbyszko. Zbyskzo wore down TA and tagged in Landell. Landell whipped Magnum into Claudio, knocking him off the apron. Magnum made a comeback and put Landell away with the Belly to Belly Suplex. After the match, Claudio slid under the bottom rope and leveled Magnum with the scissors kick. Magnum got to his feet and the two men brawled until security arrived.
Brian Kendrick vs. Hartford Love: Kendrick and Hartford fought a back and forth match. Kendrick got the win with Sliced Bread #2.
Brent Albright vs. Don Muraco - Non-Title: Muraco used his power advantage to wear down Albright. Albright came back and locked on the Crowbar for the win.
Bryan Danielson vs. Harley Race: Danielson controled the opening half of the match. Danielson nearly kicked Race's head off with the Yakuza kick and locked on the crossface chickenwing but Race got a foot on the ropes. Danielson mounted Race and blasted him with MMA strikes, busting him open. Danielson hit another Yakuza kick for a near fall but still Race kicked out. Danielson locked on the Cattle Mutilation but was too close to the ropes. Frustrated, Danielson threw Race out to the floor. Harley Race came back and scored a near fall with a vertical suplex. Race hit the Piledriver but Danielson got his foot on the ropes. Race hoisted Danielson up a second time and hit the Piledriver for the win.
Curt Hennig & Buddy Rose vs. Masked Superstar & King Kong Bundy: Superstar and Bundy isolated Hennig and wore him down. Superstar scored near falls with the Superstar Clothesline, the Spinning Neckbreaker, and the Cobra Hold. Superstar tagged in Bundy and Bundy got the win with the Avalanche.

Ring of Victory Battlefield episode 166: Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. Age of the Fall: London and Kendrick isolated Jimmy Jacobs and took him apart. London scored near falls with the Enzuigiri and the Shooting Star Press before tagging in Kendrick. Kendrick hit the Sliced Bread #2 for the win. After the match, Louden Noxious hit the ring and warned London and Kendrick to beware of Personal Demons. With that, Harker Dirge and Sam Hayne attacked London and Kendrick from behind with chairs. As security stormed the ring, Louden, Dirge, and Hayne left through the crowd, laughing. Curt Hennig vs. Belgian Brawler: Hennig quickly dispatched the Brawler, winning with the HennigPlex. Claudio Castagnoli vs. Erick Stevens: Castagnoli destroyed Stevens, quickly winning with the Ricola Bomb. Mike Quackenbush vs. Delirious: Quackenbush and Delirious tore the house down with a fast paced match. Quackenbush scored a near fall with the swanton before getting the win with the Quackendriver II. Nigel McGuinness vs. Masked Superstar II - #1 Contender's Match: Nigel attacked Superstar II and dismantled the big man. Nigel wore him down with the London Dungeon and blasted him with a Jawbreaker Lariat for a near fall. McGuinness locked on the London Dungeon a second time but Superstar got to the ropes. Nigel hit the short arm lariat for the win. Bryan Danielson vs. Terry Gordy: Gordy brutalized Danielson at the opening bell and quicklly had him in trouble. Gordy hit the Oriental Spike but Danielson got to the ropes. Gordy gave Danielson a piledriver for a near fall but Danielson kicked out. Gordy hit the Powerbomb but Danielson kicked out a second time, igniting the crowd. Gordy threw Danielson to the floor but Danielson made a comeback. Danielson leveled Gordy with a Yakuza Kick and dumped Gordy on his head with a suplex. Ring of Victory Battlefield episode 167: Naptown Dragons vs. Larryland: LarryLand isolated Dustin Lee and kept him in their half of the ring. Landell scored near falls with the Fisherman Buster and the Top Rope Fistdrop before tagging in Zbyszko. Zbyszko got the win with the Piledriver. Erick Stevens vs. Chuck Taylor: Chuck Taylor was unusually serious and it paid off. Taylor scored the victory with the Awful Waffle after hitting the move twice and scoring a near fall with the Enzuigiri. Claudio Castagnoli vs. Mike Quackenbush: Castagnoli showed unbelievable toughness, kicking out of the Quackendriver II, the tilt a whirl backbreaker, the palm strike, and the swanton. Ultimately, Quackenbush continued his winning ways, defeating Castagnoli with the Quackendriver III. Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. Personal Demons (with Louden Noxious): Although Noxious was a constant distraction at ringside, London & Kendrick managed to put Hayne away with the Assisted Shooting Star Press for the win. Rikidozan vs. Terry Gordy: Gordy and Rikidozan fought a brutal match, spilling out of the ring numerous times. Gordy hit the Piledriver for a near fall but Rikidozan made a comeback and busted Gordy open with Thunderous Chops. Gordy regained control of the match and hit the Oriental Spike before dropping Rikidozan with the Powerbomb for the win. Brent Albright vs. Nigel McGuinness - ROV Grand Championship: Albright and McGuinness wrestled a technical match. Albright wore McGuinness down with three brutal half nelson suplexes and scored a near fall with the Northern Lights.
