And Brian, you're probably right. Personally (that's opinion), I'm not really pro/con about Chikara, but that was one strange interview with Cabana a couple weeks back. I think I was more confused after the interview, lol. What was there to be confused about? He told us exactly what was going on, he has been writing this story and this was the climax. It is absolutely brilliant. Congratulations! Your brain is on a whole other plane than us mere mortals! |

I think some people were expecting to hear WHY Chikara shut down. It was eluded to that it was on purpose which, I'm sorry, I don't buy. Yes, he came up with a neat story (if you like his kind of ice cream) as a smokescreen but it's just more of the famous Quack kayfabe. Personally, I expected nothing more from that interview than we got.

Yeah, I listened to the whole thing this morning and Quack basically spent an hour saying that he did it on purpose because that's how his story was supposed to go. Definitely BS. Whatever crap he had/has going on in his life is his own crap but don't expect me to fall for that.
Don't get me wrong, I'm interested in seeing where this story goes now but I have a real hard time believing that this storyline has been building for years just so the company could be shut down for a year.
Chikara really needs to do a better job of getting their stories out there for all to see. Other than the super loyal Chikara followers I doubt many people had any clue what was going on through all of the Wrestling Is... promotions and the Ashes videos. I tried finding some of that stuff on the Chikara forums but they are forums so stuff gets buried. If you are so passionate about telling a storyline then tell a story and make it accessible. If I were Chikara I would have a section of the website devoted to explaining all of the storylines that have happened since its inception.

It may be a great story, but if a majority of the people do not understand it, then is it really a great story? Quack talks about Chikara not being everyone's type of ice cream. What can you do if you don't even understand how to eat the ice cream? How is a person to know if they like it or not? |
