Bootleggers Blowout! Card # 11
8-3-2087 GCW Arena, Kamino
TWYSTED (ICOF) VS RAGE (EGW)
Twysted went into a frenzy from the opening bell and never let up, keeping Rage on the defensive. Suplex after suplex, backbreakers and 4 seperate TATTOO DRIVERS, all within three minutes. Rage was left in the center of the ring, dazed and confuzed.
Twysted wins by pinfall at 2:55. He advances to the third round where he will face the winner of The Crow vs CM Punk.
The Crow (UWA) vs CM Punk (GCW)
The Crow decimated Bret Hart in the first round and was expected to do the same to CM Punk…Only nobody told Punk. A wild, thrilling, high-flying match that went in and out of the ring. To the crowds amazement, CM Punk had the momentum, hitting a successful series of moves that culminated in two PEPSI PLUNGE deathleaps….But the Crow kicked out of both of them. After that, the tide swung considerably to the Crow, and he finished the match off by taking it outside the ring, assaulting Punk with a steel chair, tossing him back in the ring and hitting a spectacular TOP ROPE ARABIAN FACEBUSTER and scored an easy pin.
The Crow wins by pinfall at 11:42. He advances to the third round where he will face Twysted!
Dynamic Dynamite (UWA) vs X-Pac (GCW)
Another fast paced match with a clash of styles; Dynamic Dynamite a solid power and submissions wrestler and X-Pac the high flyer. For nearly 10 minutes they went back and forth, the match up for grabs…Then DD connected with a brutal backbreaker and followed it up with a piledriver before clamping the stunned X-Pac in the DYNAMIC PAIN. X-Pac quickly sumbitted.
Dynamic Dynamite wins by submission at 9:53. He advances to the third round where he will face the winner of Decimator vs Steve Austin.
Decimator (AGL) vs Steve Austin (GCW)
Absolutely one of the best matches of the tournament. These two warriors battled back and forth, move for move, kick for kick & punch for punch. In and out of the ring. An absolute classic. Both men deserved to advance, but only one could. It was Steve Austin that hit his second STONE COLD STUNNER of the match and finally scored the pin.
Steve Austin wins the match by pinfall at 25:31. He advances to the third round where he will face Dynamic Dynamite!
Fracture (AGL) vs Strider of Fortune (UWA)
Fracture was wild and crazy, but Strider of Fortune is tough as they come. They battled back and forth, neither getting the upperhand until Strider managed to hit his finisher the LAW AND ORDER, (a powerbomb transition to a voston crab submission) and lock it in tight. In true Gladiator style, Fracture lost conciousness to the pain before he would submit.
Strider of Fortune wins by submision at 10:10. He advances to the third round where he will face the winner of Thor vs Shawn Michaels.
Thor (UWA) vs Shawn Michaels (GCW)
What a match! Thor is pure power and high impact offense while the Heartbreak Kid is speed and finesse. The offense flowed back and forth with neither man getting the edge on the other. Until Michaels came off the ropes and landed some SWEET CHIN MUSIC! But Thor kicked out on the two count and took over from there. Grinding Bear hug, piledriver, repeated suplexes…all were a setup for the NORDIC HAMMER which he landed with textbook precision, putting the HBK flat on his back in the center of the ring and easy pickins for the win.
Thor wins by pinfall at 15:25. He advances to the third round where he will face fellow UWA star Strider of Fortune!
The Mummy (UWA) vs Ground Zero (AGL)
The Mummy is 5’10” and weighs 175lbs. Ground Zero stands 6’5” and weighs in at 292lbs. This one screamed mismatch from the get-go. And it was. Ground Zero beat the Mummy from ringpost to ringpost, turnbuckle to turnbuckle. Until the very end when out of nowhere, the Mummy lashed out with a desperation MUMMIFICATION, and shocked the galaxy with a win.
The Mummy wins by pinfall at 6:21. He advances to the third round where he will face the winner of Kung-Fu vs Spectrum.
Kung-Fu (UWA) vs Spectrum (UWA)
Both men are quick, matrial arts masters, with Kung-Fu focusing more on technique and Spectrum on high flying attacks. The crowd was dazzled by the wild, acrobatic display they witnessed. Who would be the first man to exploit an opponents weakness and capitalize? It was Spectrum. A moonsault through a ringside table took most of the fight out of Kung-Fu and back in the ring Spectrum lifted him up for his rumming powerbomb specialty move, the PATTERNWEAVE. After that it was an easy 1-2-3.
Spectrum wins the match by pinfall at 13:26. He advances to the third round where he will face fellow UWA star The Mummy!
