So, I have recently decided to switch from online to physical cards, and while playing online I condensed Invasion and Wargames wrestlers into 2087. This has left my GWF fed at a standstill while I wait for my invasion and wargames sets to arrive.

But I have discovered the wonderful world of bootleg sets. so while I wait for my official cards to arrive, I have been on a download and printing frenzy of bootlegs. Some are wacky, some are cheesy, some absolutely awesome, but they are all fun as hell.

So I have decided to use the bootleg sets to set up a territories system. Each bootleg fed will now become a distinct territory.

I will conduct a massive 128 wrestler tournament, comprised of bootlegs from several different sets to determine my first ever GWF Territories Champion.

When it is a particular territories turn to challenge for the Title, I will hold a tournament amongst that sets roster to determine the number one contender and post the results in this thread. That # 1 contender will then challenge for the title on that months GWF PPV in my GWF thread.

This will serve two purposes. It will allow inter territory competition between the different bootleg sets and it will also showcase the bootlegs on my GWF PPVs, without their oddball flavor and card mechanics unbalancing my main GWF fed.

I have 80 of the first 128 bootlegs printed and trimmed down & hope to have the rest by the end of the weekend. Once I have them, I will pair them up and post the first round pairings.

It should be noted that for convenience sake, certain sets have been combined into a single territory. For example, I downloaded a few Gladiators sets, one of them set in 2124, but for my purposes they were all combined into a single territory, the Atheran Combat League, circa 2087.

Also, several individual bootleg wrestlers that belong to no particular set will be "placed" into whichever set they mesh with berst.

I am so glad I decided to switch to physical cards. It has expanded the game sooooooooooooooooo much for me and made it more enjoyable than ever.

These are the 5 territories I am using.

Atheran Gladiator League (AGL): A proving ground for Atheran Gladiators. Not just a wrestling league, the AGL also conducts grueling contests of strength, endurance and pain, all designed to mold the most hardened professional wrestlers in the galaxy.
The AGL will field 24 wrestlers in the tournament.
(Bootlegs in this fed are from the Gladiators 1& 2 sets by Ray DeGarmo and the AAW:Atheran Aftermath set by Chuck Clouser Jr. & Eay DeGarmo)

Galactic Clone Wrestling (GCW): Headquartered on the planet Kamino. The founders of the GCW use cutting edge cloning and genetic memory technology to recreate wrestling superstars from the 20’th and early 21’st century and warriors from ancient earth.
The GCW will be fielding 34 wrestlers in the tournament.
(Bootlegs in this fed are various LOW and modern era wrestlers, via various promoters.)

Extreme Galactic Wrestling (EGW): Considered a small “garbage federation” known for their ultra-violent specialty matches.
The EGW will be fielding 14 wrestlers in the tournament.

Intergalactic Carnival of Freaks (ICOF): A successful, mid-size federation that tours the frontier worlds of the Galactic Commonweath.
The ICOF will be fielding 32 wrestlers in the tournament.
(Bootlegs in this fed are from the ICOF sets by Mark Vander Zanden and individual bootlegs by various promoters.)

Universal Wrestling Alliance (UWA): Based on Earth, the UWA is known for its outlandish wrestlers who get their influence, look and style from 20’th century comic books. Despite is oddball nature, the UWA has a very rabid and loyal fan base across the galaxy.
The UWA will be fielding 24 wrestlers in the tournament.
(Bootlegs in this fed are from the GWFA sets by Dark Fear Productions.)

(Promoters note: When setting these territories up, certain wrestlers were moved from one set/territory and placed in another when they seemed a better fit. For example, Metadillo and Bionic Hedgehog are from the AAW: Atheran Aftermath 2124 set, but I placed them in the ICOF as it seemed a better fit for them.)


The Bootlegger Blowout will consist of 128 wrestlers competing over seven rounds of a single elimination tournament. The winner shall be crowned the inaugural GWF Territories Champion. Each month, the champion will face the # 1 contender of a different territory, to be determined on a rotating basis.

FIRST ROUND

Krokus (AGL) vs D’Lo Brown. (GCW)

D’Lo got off to a quick start, using his speed and high flying brawling to keep Krokus off balance. He even got a couple near pins… Until Krokus got a hold of him. A few power moves set up the DEATH ROLL and Krokus got the win.

Krokus wins by Pinfall at 6:45. He advances to the second round of the tournament where he will face the winner of Power vs Morgoloth.


Power (AGL) vs Morgoloth (ICOF)

Morgoloth took everything the Gladiator could throw at him and kept on coming, seemingly impervious to pain. At 8:00 even, Morgoloth clamped on the DOUBLE OR NOTHING and Power was forced to tap.

Morgoloth wins by submission at 8:00. He advances to the second round where he will face Krokus.


Odin (UWA) vs Gallos (ICOF)

Gallos controlled this match from start to finish, using his speed and Animan ferocity to keep Odin on the defense. To his credit, Odin managed to kick-out of a pin attempt three times, but Gallos connected with the KNUCKLEHEAD and it was lights out for the all-father.

Gallos wins by pinball at 3:13. He advances to the second round where he will face the winner of Captain America vs Axel.


Axel (EGW) vs Captain America (UWA)

Cap has speed, and power and a devastating offensive repertoire, but Axel can absorb unbelievable amounts of punishment and keep coming back for more. Twice Axel caught Cap in mid-air from a top rope cross-body block and made him pay dearly for it. But in the end, Caps grit and determination push him to victory.

Captain America wins by a FREEDOM FORCE submission hold at 23:12. He advances to the second round where he will face Gallos!


Snuka Jr. (ICOF) vs Hack (AGL)

Snuka Jr. Was on fire, coming at the gladiator Hack from all angles, but he just couldn’t put him away. And if you give any gladiator of Athera enough time, he will lay the hurt down on you. Hack hit the UTTER DOMINANCE and got the win.

Hack wins by pinball at 14:54. He advances to the second round where he will face the winner of Billy Gunn vs Hammerjack.


Billy Gunn (GCW) vs Hammerjack (ICOF)

Billy came into the match showing absolutely no respect for his opponent, going for a quick pin only to get tossed out of the ring and put through the broadcast table. Hammerjack tossed him back into the ring and clamped on THE CRUSH, and like that it was over.

Hammerjack wins by THE CRUSH submission 2:21. He advances to the second round where he will face Hack!


The Undertaker (GCW) vs Venom (AGL)

Venom tried. He really did. But the Deadman methodically stalked him down, cornered him and flattened him. The TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER was merely a formality.

The Undertaker wins by pinball at 3:25. He advances to the second round where he will face the winner of Mark Sterling and Gable!



Mark Sterling (GCW) vs Gable (GCW)

There wasn’t much to this match as Gable, smooth as his satin robe, easily evaded Sterling clumsy opening attack and effortlessly locked in the GABLE GRIP and forced the tap.

Gable wins by GABLE GRIP submission at 1:05. He advances to the second round where he will face The Undertaker!





Analysis



A very entertaining opening bracket. Morgoloth and The Undertaker seem the most powerful with Captain America right there with them. The wily Animan Gallos is a to be respected and perhaps the biggest surprise was Gable. His GABLE GRIP submission is DEADLY and could make him the dark horse favorite of the bracket and possibly the tournament!

Buh Buh Ray Dudley (GCW) vs The Godfather (GCW)

Their styles meshed well against one another, producing a wild, violent, fast paced match. Dudley was quick to take it outside the ring, but found The Godfather was also in his element there. The final half of the match say Buh Buh Ray pour it on, putting a beating on the Godfather. But out of nowhere, The Godfather reversed it and hit the PIMP DROP and scored the pin.

The Godfather wins by pinfall at 7:02. He advances to the second round where he will face the winner of Stalingrad vs The Rock!



Stalingrad (ICOF) vs The Rock (GCW)

Stalingrad, the bearlike Animan, was eager to match his power and stamina against a legend such as The Rock. Unfortunately for Stalingrad, The Rock has no time to play with teddy bears. Before Stalingrad knew what happened he was on the receiving end of a PEOPLES ELBOW, which he managed to kick out from. But it was just a setup for the ROCK BOTTOM. Lights out Stalingrad. The Rock scored an easy pinball.

The Rock wins by pinfall at :32 seconds!!! He advances to the second round where he will face fellow GCW wrestler The Godfather!


Payne (ICOF) vs Steel (AGL)

A good back and forth match. Payne seemed to be getting the upper hand, but had trouble keeping a good offensive rhythm, and then out of nowhere… A left uppercut from Steel had him flat on his back, gazing at the arena lights. Steel got an easy 3 count, but could just as easily got a 10 count.

Steel wins by pinfall at 5:32. He advances to the second round where he will face the winner of fellow Atheran Devium vs Mick Foley.


Devium (AGL) vs Mick Foley (GCW)

There wasn’t a single scientific wrestling move or hold applied in this match. It was an eye-poking, head-butting, groin-kicking slobberknocker. Devium wracked up 6 tokens, but Foley just couldn’t put him away. And that opened up the door for hit a brutal piledriver to set up the pin.

Devium by pinfall at 14:45. He advances to the second round where he faces fellow AGL wrestler Steel! Its Gladiator vs Gladiator in the second round!



Major Muscle (EGW) vs Saki Liger (ICOF)


A mismatch from the get go. Major Muscle had over 100 lbs of mass on the Japanese high flyer, and everything the little guy threw at him was ineffective. Major Muscle applied in the MAJOR PAIN(boston crab) but amazingly Liger fought his way out of it as well as kicked out from a lazy pin attempt. But the second time Muscle applied the MAJOR PAIN, Liger had no choice but to quickly submit.

Major Muscle wins by submission at 5:25. He advances to the second round where he will face the winner of Thirteen vs Matt Hardy.


Thirteen (ICOF) vs Matt Hardy (GCW)

Matt Hardy tried to lock-up, but Thirteen scrambled him with some incoherent babbling, followed by a karma driver that set up the pinfall. A squash match!

Thirteen wins by pinfall at :45 seconds! He advances to the second round where he will face Major Muscle!


British Bulldog (GCW) vs Kane (GCW)

The squash match of squash matches. They entered the ring, Kane gave the Bulldog a big boot to the face followed by a devestating TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER and the match was over!

Kane wins by pinfall :15 seconds! He advances to the second round where he will gace the winner of Strong vs Brother Hood.


Strong (ICOF) vs Brother Hood (ICOF)

Strong is a big, blue, hulking monster, but the hardened, streetwise Brother Hood wasn’t intimidated for a second. He used his speed and dirty street fighting tactics o chop the monster down and deliver a pair of GHETTO BUSTER sidewalk slams and get the pin.

Brother Hood wins by pinfall at 9:19. He advances to the second round where he will face Kane!

Analysis

The first round of bracket # 2 of 8 is now in the books. The Rock, Thirteen and Kane appeared the most dominant, dispatching their opponents in under one minute. Major Muscle and Brother Hood are tough, solid contenders and a pair of Gladiators, Steel and Devium will battle it out in the second round.

Up next will be the first round of bracket # 3 of 8 where the action moves to Browncoat Stadium on the frontier world Beaumont.

Super Tendron (ICOF) vs Sykk (ICOF)

Sykk had exploive energy and ferocity, Super Tentron had size, raw power and a brawlers offense. It ended up being somehat of a mismatch as Super Tendron tossed Sykk around the ring a little bit, hit him with three straight pilerdrivers then locked in THE SMOTHERING submission hold and the match was over.

Super Tendron wins by submission at 3:34. He advances to the second roun where he will face the winner of Pharoh vs Zulu!



Pharoah (GCW) vs Zulu (ICOF)

Pharoah wasted no time smothering Zulu with his powerful offense and locking in the PHAROH’S REVENGE sleeperhold. It was lights out Zulu.

Pharoh wins by submission at 1:05. He advances to the second round where he will face Super Tendron!



Storm (AGL) vs River Monster (GCW)

As soon as the bell rand Storm hit the TWISTER SLAM and got the pin! Storm has set the record for the fastest pin in the tournament!

Storm wins by pinfall at :05 seconds! The fastest pinfall in the tournament! He advances to the second round where he will face the winner of Metadillo vs Jawz!



Metadillo (ICOF) vs Jawz (ICOF)

A matchup between two powerhouses, Metadillo also employed some great in ring strategy to confuse Jawz. Jawz took quite a beating, and in the end, Metadillo got the pinfall.

Metadillo wins by pinfall at 5:53. He advances to the second round where he will face the gladiator Storm. Andromedan vs Atheran in the continuation of a classic blood feud!



Tyranus Wrex (EGW) vs Tyr (ICOF)

These two warrior were evenly matched, battling one another move for move. Wrex was fianlly able to capitalize on one of Tyrs mistaks and hit the EXTINCTION DEATHDROP and get the pin.

Tyranus Wrex wins the match by pinfall at 10:00. He advances to the second round where he will face the winner of The Bionic Hedgehog vs Wahoo McDaniel.


Bionic Hedgehog (ICOF) vs Wahoo McDaniel (GCW)

This one was a bloodbath. The hedgehog went on the offense and never let up. Wahoo was bleeding profusely within the opening minute. Wahoo did manage to attempt a minor offense, but it was quickly squashed and the beating commenced. Mercifully for only a short while longer.

The Bionic Hedgehog wins by pinfall at 3:08. He advanes to the second round where he will face Tyranus Wrex!



Derrick Dynamite (UWA) vs Cyclops (ICOF)

The fighters were evenly matched in power, but Dynamite used his superior speed, agility and superb defense to counter just about everything Cyclops threw at him. It proved to be too much for the one-eyed warrior. Dynamite locked in the PAIN KNOT and the Cyclops tapped out.

Derrik Dynamite wins by submision at 4:23. He advances to the sedond round where he will face the winner of Bloodmonger vs Ken Shamrock.



Bloodmonger (AGL) vs Ken Shamrock (GCW)


Bloodmonger absolutely demolished Shamrock. Shamrock literally didn’t know what hit him, and was completely steamrolled by by the 6’9”, 384lb Atheran beast! Bloodmonger finished the match with an ATHERAN BOMB powerbomb. 5 minutes after the match, Shamrock was still flat on his back being attended to by medics.

Bloodmonger wins by pinfall at 1:49. He advances to the second round where he will face Derrick Dynamite!

Analysis

Bracket # 3 of 8 in the first round of the BOOTLEGGERS BLOWOUT is in the books. And this one saw the emergence of some of the most powerful wrestlers so far. Super Tendron. Pharoh. Storm. Metadillo. T-Wrex. Bionic Hedgehog. Derrick Dynamite. Bloodmonger. Each and every one of them are brutal, high impact powerhouse wrestlers. Each and every one of them are more than capable of winning the entire tournament.

I really like the set up you have going on in this fed. I'm thinking of doing a territory system for my Chikara/Honor fed I'm working on, but don't know if it will turn out that way. I also like how you do your write-ups and post an Analysis after the card.

Scorn (AGL) vs Jeff Hardy (GCW)

If Scorn would have been able to get his hands on Jeff Hardy, this match most likely would have ended very differently. As it is, Jeff Hardy ran circles around Scorn, using his speed and high-flying offense to bring discombobulate the bigger man before hitting him with a near perfect SWANTON BOMB and the easy pin.

Jeff Hardy wins by pinfall at 3:27. He advances to the second round where he will face the winner of Breaker vs DC Watson.



Breaker (ICOF) vs DC Watson (EGW)

This match started off evenly matched, but at about the 3:00 minute mark DC Watson began to take control. But Breaker would not go down easy. He escaped two DC CROSSFACE submission attempts and kicked out of two DC SHUTTLE SUPLEX pin attempts! But it was the third DC SHUTTLE SUPLEX that proved one to many. Breaker was broekn and DC Watson got the pin.

DC Watson wins by pinfall at 8:43. He advances to the second round where he will face Jeff Hardy!



The Mexican Guardian (UWA) vs The Dominator (ICOF)

The Dominator lived up to his name, quickly overpowering the Mexican Guardian and locking in the PAINFUL DOMINATION submision hold. The Mexican Guardian quickly tapped.

The Dominator wins by submission at 2:00. He advances to the second round where he will face the winner of Owen Hart vs Manhandle.



Owen Hart (GCW) vs Manhandle (AGL)

Manhandle is a fitting name for this gladiator. For thats what he did everytime the fighting got in close. He Manhandled Owen Hart. He got so overconfident that he forgot the golden rule when fighting Owen Hart…He is a Hart, instilled with that legendary Hart training and tenacity. And so in the midst of his manhandling, Owen Hart saw his opportunity, pulled a quick reverse and locked the SHARPSHOOTER submission on the dazed gladiator. To his credit, Manhandle refused to tap an the referee called the match after he went unconcious from the pain…

Owen hart wins by submission at 7:21. He advances to the second round where he will face The Dominator!



HHH (GCW) vs Kreepshow (ICOF)

Kreepshow claims to be a cousin of The Mutant (GWF). He sure looks related, and he wrestles the same as well. HHH wasn’t intimidated one bit, and when Kreepshow took the match outside the ring, HHH obliged him with a steel chair beating, leaving Kreepshow bleeding profusely. Back in the ring HHH got in a good workout before nailing a textbook PEDIGREE and scored the pin.

HHH wins by pinfall at 11:43. He advances to the second round where he will face the winner of D-Von Dudley vs Terminus.



D-Von Dudley (GCW) vs Terminus (ICOF)


This was straight up old school hardcore wrestling. The match took place outside the ring as much as inside and involved chairs, announcers tables and garbage cans. Terminus kicked out of six different pin attempts but number seven was just too much.

D-Von Dudley wins by pinfall at 11:11. He advances to the second round where he will face HHH!



Demon (EGW) vs Carnage (AGL)

This match proved two things. A Gladiator relishes in spilling blood and inflicting punishment on their opponent and some people just don’t know when to stay down and admit they’ve had enough. For the entire 18:36 second duration of this match, Carnage did nothing but spilled Demons blood and inflicted massive punishment until he simply collapsed unconcious in the center of the ring. Carnage scored an easy pin.

(The rule I use for a fatigue KO is 12 - PIN + 1 = x. Demons PIN is (3). 12 - 3 = 9 + 1 = 10. Once Demon recieved his 10’th token, he suffered a fatigue KO.)


Carnage wins by pinfall. He advances to the second round where he will face the winner of Monad vs Chris Jericho.


Monad (ICOF) vs Chris Jericho (GCW)

Monad put on an impressive display of walking to the ring; roaring and bellowing to the crowd, waving his 4-arms wildly. The bell rand and he lunged at Jericho. Jericho slipped around behind him and hit the WALLS OF JERICHO and scored the quick surprise pin!

Chris Jericho wins at :21. He advances to the second round where he will face the gladiator Carnage!

Analysis

Bracket # 4 0f 8 in the first round of is complete. The wrestlers from the GCW have claimed 5 of the 8 seeds in the second round of this bracket; Jeff Hardy, Owen Hart, HHH, D-Von Dudley and Chris Jericho. The Gladiator Carnage is the 7’th wrestler from the AGL to make it to the 2’nd round of the tournament.
