Out of curiosity, for non-live wrestling events, do you overall prefer streaming or DVDs?
For me personally, I prefer streaming because its alot cheaper even without the shipping costs, you get the shows right away, and you don't have to store them in your closet or wherever later.
But if I really like a show, then I might also order the DVD like I did with Border Wars and like I am planning to do (perhaps in the Easter sale) for Best in the World 2012 since that stream expires in 3 months on ROH's website.

Screw streaming, if the server the streams are on goes down for whatever reason, you don't have it anymore. DVDs, barring some mishandling, you have forever.

you don't have to store them in your closet or wherever later. This is exactly it for me. I already own like 200 DVDs from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, and indy shows... and I have no idea what to do with them (a lot of them were inherited). I have two DVD albums that I store them in, but I'm getting to the point that I don't want to own new crap unless it's really important to me. So yeah, I'd much rather download shows to my computer or stream it.. I'd prefer it if roku or one of those other boxes could stream things directly to my TV, but at the least I can hook my laptop to my television and watch it that way.

You CAN stream stuff directly to your TV with a Roku. That's pretty much what it does. You can even hook it up to a DVD recorder and record (most) stuff to DVD. Amazon and Hulu are the only copy protected channels I've come across.

I hate the idea of paying for something that I supposedly own but knowing full well that if said company goes out of business or decides to "upgrade" to new technology or whatever that now I would have to re-buy everything. Call me old fashioned but I still like DVDs. The only thing is that with wrestling I am a lot less likely to rewatch the events over and over again so I wouldn't feel like I was getting ripped off buying a streaming event.

I generally don't rewatch shows, so streaming works great for me, I just want to have an easy way to get it on my TV and pull up shows, and haven't gone through yet with hooking up a Roku or other streaming service to my TV. I think this will be more important in the future. I don't get CDs any more and am planning to slowly not get DVDs either.

For me it depends on the show. I will usually stream it and if I like it enough then I will buy the DVD. Yes it is much cheaper in the long run to just stream, but I also like having the DVD, I do sometimes rewatch stuff just because I like to relive the old days or matches I really enjoyed.

I just got Netflix a few days ago and love it. I've already watched 3 wrestling shows on it. Tons of great stuff on there. I haven't bought nearly as many wrestling DVDs in the past few years but I would probably still buy one depending on what it was.

Switch-Truth has a really good point about having to rely on a server for streaming. Last summer I was having lots of problems getting the shows I bought to play on the SMVOD streamer. But since then I haven't had a problem and because of the issues I was having they actually offered me the next 2 CHIKARA shows back then for free based on my order history. But for me the biggest incentive for streaming is the vast amount of money I save which is important due to the large amount of Indy wrestling I watch. For example, on SMVOD I ordered CZW's 2 most recently available shows Ascension and the 14th Anniversary for a total of $20. The actual DVD for each CZW show is $20 apiece plus a shipping charge so getting those two shows on streaming alone saved me about $25 (in other words I get to watch both of the shows and basically order the SHIMMER set for the same money it would have cost me to buy the DVDs. ) Since SMVOD and ROH's website both have SMOS capability, streaming is also nice so I can watch shows whenever I am on the road with my IPad- much easier than carrying a labtop and the DVDs when I am on the road- to see PWG or something which on average is almost once every 4 weekends.
