Like the way you think Holland. However, Commissioner Cox has other ideas. Your not going to be happy!
LWF Champion Buddy Rogers barely escaped with his title tonight. His next challenge will come from Frank Gotch in three weeks time in Springfield MA. In big news out of Commissioner Cox¡¦s office, Ted DiBiase & Virgil have been suspended for four cards each for their attack on The Sandman. Commissioner Cox has also declared Greg & Johnny Valentine the number one contenders for the Tag Team Titles despite the inconclusive finish in tonight¡¦s match against the Road Warriors. Cox used the Valentines victory over the Warriors two weeks ago to support his decision. The. Warriors were not happy but Cox appeased Hawk and Animal by granting them a shot at the Titles as part of the huge Madison Square Garden Show at the end of the month. Cox has also signed a Steel Cage Match between the Valentines and Warriors for the Springfield MA card. February is shaping up to be a hot month and will start off in Boston MA. Here is the line up so far:
Ox Baker makes his debut against Giant Baba in a battle of the big men.
In a rematch of tonight's opener, Nikita Breznikov¡¦s Russians Assassins face the Last of the Famous International Playboys with both teams looking to move up in the tag team rankings
By order of Commissioner Cox, Playboy Buddy Rose faces Bobo Brazil in a number one contenders match with the winner going on to face United States Champion Jimmy Snuka in two weeks.
LWF Champion Buddy Rogers steps into the ring with three of his top contenders when he participates in a four corners match against Frank Gotch, Nick Bockwinkel and Harley Race. The title will not be on the line but the individual who wins this one will have to be given a serious look at for a future shot at the gold.
The Main Event will see Tag Team Champions Jimmy & Johnny Valiant defend against Greg & Johnny Valentine.

Not to worry Holland, they will battle it out inside a steel cage in Springfield.
Here are the rankings for my first month....
Rankings – January, year one
LWF Champion: Buddy Rogers United States Champion: Jimmy Snuka 1. Frank Gotch 2. Nick Bockwinkel 3. Bobo Brazil 4. Giant Baba 5. Johnny Valentine 6. Harley Race 7. King Kong Bundy 8. The Sandman 9. Ted DiBiase 10. Iron Sheik
LWF Tag Team Champions: Jimmy & Johnny Valiant 1. Greg & Johnny Valentine 2. Road Warriors 3. Russian Assassins 4. Beautiful People 5. Last of the Famous International Playboys
Notes: After one month of action, it is no real surprise to see Buddy Rogers atop the singles rankings. Both Frank Gotch and Nick Bockwinkel appear ready to unseat the champion. The Valiant Brothers are the Tag Team Champions by luck more than anything else having won the Iron Team Tournament without scoring a single clean victory. They will have to do better than that when they face the Valentines and Road Warriors throughout the next month.

Card #5 – Boston, MA Boston Garden, February 2nd, year one “Brawl in Boston” Injuries: The Sandman 12 cards; Suspensions: Ted DiBiase 4 cards; Virgil 4 cards
Match #1: Road Warriors v. Dick Hutton & Red Bastien Animal and Hawk attack before the bell drawing solid heat from the fans. Animal bloodies Hutton ramming him face first into the steel ring post. Bastien saves his partner from a DOOMSDAY DEVICE but Hutton is never able to tag out and Hawk scores the pin at 1:13 with a second DOOMSDAY DEVICE. (H 2; A 3; RB 2, DH 7)
Match #2: Russian Assassins w/Nikita Breznikov v. The Last of The Famous International Playboys This one is hotly contested from bell to bell with the fans getting behind the Playboys early on. Unlike the last contest between these two teams, the Playboys actually get some decent offence in. The match turns when Breznikov’s is able to distract the referee mid way though the contest allowing Assassin #2 to batter Brutus Beefcake who was trapped in the ropes. The time expires at 5:00 with the Assassins in control against Buff Bagwell. Both teams brawl to the back following the bell. (Bag 7, Beef 3; A #1 4; A #2 6)
Match #3: Giant Baba v. Ox Baker Japanese Media cover the match from ringside. Baba dominates the action and quickly downs Baker and weakens him with a figure four leglock. A Baba Chop ends the match at 0:54. (GB 2; OB 5)
Bill Apter hosts an outrageous Hot Seat with Gorgeous George who gives his interview while Cherie Dupré disinfects the ring drawing monster heat. George tells the fans Bobo Brazil is just too ugly to compete with the Beautiful People but the fans are not to worry because Brazil will soon be getting a make over courtesy of Rose and George and soon will be Beautiful himself.
Match #4: Iron Sheik w/Nikitia Breznikov v. The Destroyer Sheik draws huge heat with his pre match rants on the microphone and then tears into the Destroyer with a pair of CAMEL CLUTCHES in the first three moves of the match. A kick with loaded boot sets up another CAMEL CLUTCH for the win at 0:42. (IS 2; D 7)
Match #5: No. One Contenders Match – US Title: Bobo Brazil v. Playboy Buddy Rose The fans explode for Brazil and he spends several minutes greeting the ringside fans and singing autographs. Brazil controls most the match but Rose has moments when it looks like he might get something going before Brazil cracks him with a COCO BUTT turning the momentum back around. Brazil downs Rose with a COCO BUTT and Gorgeous George runs in for the save but Brazil sees George coming and takes him out with a clothesline. Brazil plants Rose with a Bobo body slam for the win at 3:10. Rose and George look like they might start something after the bell but think better of it and retreat to the dressing room. (BR 8; BB 1)
Match #6: Non Title Match: Buddy Rogers (ch) v. Frank Gotch v. Nick Bockwinkel v. Harley Race Gary Michael Cappetta explains this will be an elimination match! Race and Gotch trade very near falls early in the match before Bockwinkel is tagged in against Gotch. Bockwinkel works over Gotch’s leg with a steel chair at ringside. Both men end up brawling at ringside the referee cannot break things up disqualifying both Gotch and Bockwinkel at 2:13. Race takes the action to the LWF Champion nearly ending the match with a PILEDRIVER. Rogers battled back but Race is too powerful. Race bloodies Rogers at ringside and then uses a swinging neckbreaker to score the pin just before time expires at 4:55. Five star action from bell to bell. (NB 3; FG 3; BR 5; HR 4)
Match #7: LWF Tag Team Title Match – Johnny & Jimmy Valiant (ch) v. Greg & Johnny Valentine Jimmy Valiant bloodies Johnny Valentine at ringside ramming his face into the steel rails by the fans and later inflicts more damage with a foreign object. Valentine barely survives to make the tag to his son who manages to turn the match around. The Valentines cut off Jimmy form his corner and have him beat following an ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER but Johnny jumps into the action followed by Greg Valentine starting a wild brawl. The Valiant Brothers win the brawl and Johnny Valiant takes Johnny Valentine to the floor ramming Valentine’s already bloody face into the steel rails by the fans. The referee has seen enough and disqualifies the Valiant Brothers at 4:08. Both teams brawl back to the dressing room area. (J Val 2; GV 4; Ji V 9; Jo V 5)
A huge night for Harley Race with a non title pinball over LWF Champion Buddy Rogers that will be sure to give him a title shot down the road. The Valiant Brothers have yet to win a match cleaning but are still the Tag Team Champions. That could all change after their next title defense against the Road Warriors as part of the huge Madison Square Garden show at the end of the month. All three LWF title will be on the line on the MSG Card.. In addition, a special attraction has been announced as Florida Championship Wrestling Southern Champion Bob Orton Jr. will defend his title against B. Brian Blair.
Next, the LWF returns to North Attleboro, MA. The following matches have been signed so far: * After battling to time limit draws on the last two cards, The Russian Assassins will once again step into the ring against The Last of the Famous International Playboys

Match #1: Red Bastien v. King Kong Bundy Great action in and out of the ring in this one. Bastien rocks the crowd with a dive onto Bundy off the top of the buckles to the arena floor. Bastien later takes a sick bump when Bundy rams Bastien back first into the steel ring post! The match ends with a wild brawl at ringside where Bundy uses a steel chair to deck Bastien and is disqualified at 3:24. (RB 3; KKB 6)
Match #2: Gorgeous George w/Cherie Dupré v. Dick Hutton Long intro for George who draws huge heat preparing for the match. Hutton draws from the crowd’s support and takes the action to George from the opening bell. Interference from Dupré turns the match around and the action spills to the floor. Match #3: Russian Assassins w/Nikita Breznikov v. The Last of The Famous International Playboys Great heat for the Russians during their introductions. The Playboys work over Assassin #2 early in the match but things turn around when Assassin #1 is able to cut off Brutus Beefcake from this corner. (A#1 3, A#2 5; BB 5; BBag 3)
Match #4: Jimmy Valiant v. Greg Valentine The crowd backs Valentine at the outset of the match. The match goes back and forth and Valentine is quickly a bloody mess courtesy of a head slam to post. Valentine downs Valiant for the win with a falling elbow hammer but Jimmy Valiant attacks Valentine from behind breaking up the cover causing a disqualification at 2:42. The Valiant Brothers double team Valentine with double clotheslines and elbow smashes until Johnny Valentine arrives with a steel chair and chases off the LWF Tag Team Champions. (GV 5; JV 5)
Playboy Buddy Rose is Bill Apter’s guest on the Hot Seat. Rose complains about the lack of respect he is given the media stating the Beautiful People like Gorgeous George and himself were born to sell magazines. Rose takes out his frustrations grabbing Apter but United States Champion Jimmy Snuka arrives and Rose quickly retreats to the dressing room.
Match #5: Frank Gotch v. Nick Bockwinkel Bockwinkel jumps Gotch during Gary Michael Cappetta’s introductions and within seconds both men are on their backs in the middle of the ring when Gotch counters a clothesline with one of his own. Bockwinkel connects with a deathjump forearm smash that tangles Gotch in the ropes. The referee tries to free Gotch, but Bockwinkel throws the referee to the mat and hammers away on Gotch. The official disqualifies Bockwinkel at 0:40. Gotch is finally freed as security arrives to break up the action. Bockwinkel leaves the ring with his hands raised drawing huge heat. (FG 1; NB 3)
Match #6: Texas Death (Hardcore) Match: Harley Race v. Johnny Valentine Both men are focused during the introductions and prepared for war. Johnny opens the match by actually wrestling wrapping Race up in an arm bar. Race blocks a back body drop with a piledriver and then plants Valentine with another PILEDRIVER for the stunning win at 0:42 after only six moves! (JV 2; HR 2)
Match #7: United States Title Match: Jimmy Snuka (ch) v. Bobo Brazil The ovation for the two competitors blows the roof off the arena. A handshake starts the action before Bobo assumes control with his strength. Snuka battles back at one point diving over the ropes onto Brazil at ringside bringing the fans to their feet. Snuka takes the match to ringside several times finally resulting in a violent brawl. Snuka ducks Brazil’s attack and Brazil’s out of control clothesline takes out the referee resulting in a disqualification at 2:20. The fans dump all over the decision filling the ring with trash. (BB 2; JS 4)
Disappointing night tonight with five out of the seven matches ending in a DQ and the highly anticipated showdown between Harley Race and Johnny Valentine turning into a squash. With his victory tonight, Race must be considered the next in line for a shot at the LWF title. Rumors are circulating that if LWF Champion Buddy Rogers retains his title next week against Frank Gotch, Race will face Rogers for the Title in the main event of the MSG show at the end of the month.
Big news out of Commissioner Cox’s office is the announcement of the March Mayhem tournament. The four week event will kick off on March 8 and will see 32 wrestlers battle it out in a single elimination tournament. The Commissioner is stressing the significance of this event even going as far as to suspend the 30 day title defense rule so that all the LWF Champions can focus on winning the March Mayhem Tournament.
The LWF completes it 3rd straight show in Massachusetts next week. The matches already singed included:
- Giant Baba looks to extend his winning streak to 3 in a row when he faces the Iron Sheik
- Russian Assassins face The Last of the International Playboys for the 4th straight week. Berznikov has stated this week we beat them, next time we destroy them. The Playboys will need a win to keep alive in the tag team division.
- Bobo Brazil teams with US Champ Jimmy Snuka to meet the Beautiful People in a rematch three weeks in the making
- After battling to a double disqualification 3 weeks ago, The Road Warriors look to settle their differences with the Valentines in side a steel cage
- Frank Gotch gets his opportunity at the LWF Championship when he steps into the ring against Buddy Rogers with the Title on the line.

Commissioner Carter has suspended The Beautiful People for eight cards each for their attack on Bobo Brazil tonight. Both Gorgeous George and Buddy Rose will miss the March Mayhem tournament. .
The fans are buzzing with anticipation as the March Mayhem tournament will get under way in only two weeks time. All four nights are sold out!
