thanks to Crimson Cross!, cruefan68, and Horrorshow for their comments about the First Half of High Rollers! It is now time to present the Second Half!
Ring of Vegas (ROV)
Show #12: High Rollers (on IPPV)
June 14th, Year One
Las Vegas, NV
(Second Half of show, First Half is posted above)
Match #6: ROV Tag Team Champions the Briscoes defeated Future Shock
- before this match started, WGTT (who earlier tonight with their victory over the Young Bucks finally won a tag title shot for sometime later this summer) appeared and stated they hope their enemies Future Shock win this match because with their (WGTT's) repeated tag victories over Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly they (WGTT) know that Future Shock would be an easy path for them to the ROV Tag Team Championship later this summer. Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas then remained at ringside to watch the tag match quite possibly involving their future opponents later this summer when they get their tag title match.
- First Fall: an awesome fall which finally ended when Jay Briscoe put away O'Reilly via a death valley driver. Briscoes up 1-0.
- Second Fall: during this fall, another awesome fall in what turned out to be the best tag title match yet in ROV History, something extraordinary occurred when at one point Mark Briscoe appeared about to win the match with a pinfall cover on Cole after a shooting star press but the referee before he could make the 3 count was suddenly pulled out of the ring by Benjamin who saved one of his enemies in Future Shock to deny the Briscoes the chance to win the match! as the referee argued with WGTT, ROV matchmaker Nigel McGuinness appeared and told WGTT if they don't leave the ringside area immediately then they would forfeit the upcoming tag title shot they won earlier tonight! Benjamin and Haas responded by reluctantly and angrily heading to the back. As this was occurring, a recovering Cole was then hit with DUAL SUPERKICKS from the Briscoes and the referee then reentered the ring to make the 3 count.
- as a result, the Briscoes retained the ROV Tag Team Championship!
Match #7: ROV Matchmaker Nigel McGuinness defeated Tommaso Ciampa
- this match marked McGuinness's in-ring wrestling debut for ROV
- McGuinness gained revenge for Ciampa attacking him last month at Non Negotiables by winning via Guvnor's Crumpet.
- afterward, McGuinness revealed that ROV promoter David Marquez had previously given him permission to do something if he defeated Cimapa tonight. McGuinness looked staright at Ciampa and told him "For injuring me at Non Negotiables, in the words of Vince at VWE, you're fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiired!!!"
Match #8: ROV TV Champion Bryan Danielson defeated Mike Quackenbush in a non-title match
- a really good match won by Danielson via CATTLE MUTILATION
- Quackenbush, making a guest appearance tonight for ROV, is now 0-2 in his Vegas career against Danielson who also defeated him last season in Lachikaras Vegas at Anniversario: Pro Wrestling.
Match #9: American Wolves defeated S.C.U.M. in a ladder match
- the stipulations for this feud-ending match, the first-ever ladder match in ROV History, were the American Wolves had to split up if they lost while S.C.U.M. had to leave ROV if they lost.
- in a match that will undoubtedly make the match listing for the Best of ROV Year 1 DVD compilation, the end came when Eddie Edwards and Steve Corino were fighting each other on top of the ladder from where Edwards gave Corino DIE HARD causing Corino to smash onto Jimmy Jacobs below. Davey Richards then climbed the ladder to grab a metal rod to give the American Wolves the victory both in this match and in their feud with S.C.U.M. who as a result now have to leave ROV!
On Tap with James Morgan:
- making his ROV debut, James "Main Event" Morgan says his first guest for On Tap with James Morgan will be ROV promoter David Marquez himself!
- Morgan, after commenting that Marquez has made a smart acquisition by signing him to a ROV contract, asks Marquez where ROV is headed after tonight in terms of talent now that S.C.U,M. is forced to leave ROV, Ciampa has been fired, and both Lethal and Bennett are headed to VNA. Marquez says he will be evaluating lots of new talent possibilities at ROV's next show Planet Hollywood on Thursday July 4th where the top So Cal talent will be going up against ROV talent. Marquez also says, to take advantage of the annual big 4th of July crowds in Las Vegas, Planet Hollywood will now be taking place in Las Vegas at the Empire Ballroom on the Strip.
- Morgan, before finishing his interview, asks Marquez when the Casino Royale Rumble will take place and Marquez responds by saying the Casino Royale Rumble will actually be the very next episode of ROV TV just 3 days away!
{Promoter's Note: I intend to use the new Red Carpet Rumble charts included as part of the new CWFH Act II set to play the Casino Royale Rumble match}
Match #10, the main event: ROV Champion Roderick Strong and Adam Pearce (both accompanied by Truth Martini, Michael Elgin, Rhino, and the Hoopla Hotties- Jessie McKay and Courtney Rush) defeated Kevin Steen and El Generico in an elimination match.
- this match was for the ROV Championship
- thanks to interference from the House of Truth, Strong eliminated Steen by making him tap out to the STRONG HOLD
- thanks to more interference from the House of Truth, Strong eliminated Generico via the STRONG HOLD
- both Strong and Pearce survived the match
- as a result, Strong retained the ROV Championship but the TV announcers wonder aloud whether or not Pearce's ability to survive elimination tonight might propel him to a future title shot against Strong in a possible House of Truth vs House of Truth confrontation?
End of Show. See you in 3 days at the Casino Royale Rumble on ROV TV!
