CHP #7: Campeon de Parejas 08.09.2112 from Logan Square Auditorium, Chicago, IL
F.I.S.T. and Icarus vs. The Colony and Green Ant Fire Ant defeated Johnny Gargano with an ANTS GO MARCHING at 7:27 Match Rating: 2.50 Match Notes: These six kicked off the historic Campeon de Parejas in style.
The opening moments were fast paced with lots of back and forth and some great defensive tag work by the Colony. Chuck Taylor looked good early, but the Colony got the upper hand after Taylor and Green Ant let the action spill outside. Fire Ant and Soldier Ant ended up taking it to Gargano big time!
Johnny had moments, but ultimately, the Colony used hi impact tag work to render his efforts null and void. He had a couple impressive kickouts, including after the SUPER MEGA ANTAPULT!!!
Icarus and Taylor were escorted back to the apron after attempting to make a save and Soldier Ant made a quick tag to hit ANTS GO MARCHING to secure the win!
Icarus didn't look happy at the result and could be hears berating Gargano at ringside while Taylor jawed with some fans. The Colony celebrated in the ring.
Mike Quackenbush vs. Gran Akuma Mike Quackenbush defeated Gran Akuma with a QUACKENDRIVER III at 7:55 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: Quackenbush and Akuma finished at the top of their bracket behind the unstoppable Claudio Castagnoli for the 12 Large Summit and could easily see themselves in line for a shot at the winner of the title match on the next card. A win here would go a long way to making sure they were first in line.
They jockeyed for position early, but Quackenbush exploded and tried to put him away with hi impact moves. It was too early, though and Akuma stayed in it.
Akuma would mount a couple comebacks, but it was mostly Quackenbush all the way. He mixed up strikes and stretching to wear Akuma down and then hit a couple big moves here and there. The finish came soon after Quackenbush hit a slingshot plancha to the outside and then followed it with a QUACKENDRIVER III for the win!
Jigsaw vs. Larry Sweeney Larry Sweeney defeated Jigsaw with a 12 LARGE ELBOW DROP at 7:01 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: Sweeney was on fire in this match against Jigsaw! He brought it in the opening moments with a barrage of big moves and even dropped the 12 LARGE ELBOW, but Jigsaw was incredibly resilient.
Still, the match was almost all Sweeney and the finish came after a '68 Comeback Special followed by 2 12 LARGE ELBOWS.
Sweeney struts away with the win, but it definitely took a lot to put Jigsaw away.
Incoherence vs. The Throwbacks Frightmare defeated Dasher Hatfield with a Super Frankensteiner at 7:06 Match Rating: 2.75 Match Notes: This was a good fast-paced bout that had both teams getting in some strong offense.
It looked as though Dunkerton was about to put Frightmare away, but Hallowicked made the save and rolled his partner to the floor to take over in a big way. Even a defensive tag to Dasher wasn't enough to stop Hallowicked as he picked up the win after a Super Frankensteiner!
Incoherence picks up a win and a point. Though we won't crown our Campeon de Parejas until later this evening, the hunt is already on for the first contenders and this win gives some momentum to Frightmare and Hallowicked.
Eddie Kingston vs. Jimmy Jacobs Eddie Kingston defeated Jimmy Jacobs with a BACKFIST TO THE FUTURE at 5:44 Match Rating: 2.75 Match Notes: The winner of this match will find themselves in the semi-final match to face Claudio Castagnoli in the match to determine the first CHP Grand Champion!
The four-way tie in block B dictated this match and the following bout. The winners will face each other in the opening bout at the next card and then the winner moves forward to the Main Event!
Jacobs has been promising a reckoning to the entire roster of Chikara Honor Pro, meanwhile Eddie Kingston has kept his head down and brought the fight to all comers looking for his chance to be the first ever CHP Grand Champion!
They jockeyed for position early on with neither man taking a strong advantage until Kingston missed a yakuza kick and Jacobs rebounded off the ropes with a springboard dropkick leveling Kingston!
Kingston exited the ring, but Jacobs followed and a wild brawl erupted! Both men came close to drawing the DQ and received warnings from the ref.
Things continued to break down and they skirted the line and tested the ref's patience, but action continued and they were nearly both counted out not once, but twice.
Once the action returned to the ring, Jacobs applied THE END TIME, but Kingston would not submit!
Kingston rolled out following the hold and Jacobs went to pursue, but Kingston grabbed him by the leg and yanked him off the apron! Jacobs hit the floor hard and Kingston, smelling blood, pressed his advantage with not one but two backdrop drivers in a row!
Jacobs was on dream street, and Kingston caught him with BACKFIST TO THE FUTURE!
1, 2, 3!
Kingston moves on and is one step closer to realizing his dream!
Jacobs is out, and here comes Tyler Black! He beats down Kingston and clocks him with a shining wizard before helping Jacobs to his feet and to the back.
Brodie Lee vs. Ultramantis Black Ultramantis Black defeated Brodie Lee with a PRAYING MANTIS BOMB at 15:36 Match Rating: 4.25 Match Notes: The winner of this match goes on to face Eddie Kingston for the right to meet Claudio to crown the first ever Grand Champion!
Brodie Lee has had a lot of momentum over the past few cards going into this one and already has a victory over Ultramantis. Mantis on the other hand has a win over Eddie Kingston already as well. It really is anybody's game in Block B, but it's boiled down to three men. Kingston, Lee, and Ultramantis.
There was something special about this one from the beginning! They just clicked and early on neither man held the advantage. It went back and forth and both men were intent on wearing the other down.
Eventually things broke down on the outside and Lee took the advantage. He began whipping Mantis from pillar to post. Literally and scored a couple of near falls.
It looked to be all Brodie and at one point he followed a pair of Brodie Bombs with a huge BIG BOOT! It even ripped Ultramantis' mask!
Somehow, though, Ultramantis got the shoulder up!
Brodie was stunned and crowd was jacked and firmly in Ultramantis' corner!
Package piledriver! Mantis is in trouble, but the crowd is rallying behind him.
They wanted the comeback and soon after they got it!
Ultramantis reversed an Irish Whip into the steel steps and followed with a shining wizard that crunched Lee's skull between his shin and the ring steps.
PRAYING MANTIS BOMB back inside!!! 1...2.. NO! Black and the crowd are stunned!
Rites of Spring! Another PRAYING MANTIS BOMB!
1, 2, 3! Ultramantis Black wins! He moves on to face Kingston in the Block B Final!
Wait a minute! Here comes The Age of the Fall! Jacobs is still banged up from his match with Kingston and directs traffic as Tyler Black and Necro Butcher take it to Ultramantis!
Brodie Lee is up! Butcher and Black tell him it's fine and to go to the back. Lee starts out of the ring, but turns at the last minute...
BIG BOOT to Black! The crowd erupts! Butcher and Brodie start brawling at the ringside area! Jacobs slides into the ring, but Ultramantis is up! The brawl and Mantis hits a PRAYING MANTIS BOMB on Jacobs!
Brodie has run off Butcher and climbs into the ring. He and Mantis stare down and Mantis warily extends a hand... Brodie stares at it and then grabs it. He pulls Mantis in seems to have some stern words for him. He releases him and pats him on the back.
- Campeon de Parejas - The Batiri vs. and Naomichi Marufuji, KENTA for the Campeon de Parejas Kodama defeated KENTA with a spinning suplex at 27:24 Naomichi Marufuji defeated Kodama with a capture suplex at 47:09 KENTA defeated Kodama with a BUSAIKU KNEE KICK at 55:48 Match Rating: 5.00 Match Notes: This was a 5 star war to crown the first ever Campeon de Parejas! There are not words to do this one justice. The 2 out of 3 falls contest with a 60 minute time limit was less than 5 minutes away from being a draw and it was truly anybody's game until the final 3 count!
They went back and forth and all four absorbed inhuman amounts of punishment. There were numerous tags and excellent teamwork from both pairs. Anything you can imagine happened in this one. The pace was lightning quick with tons of chain wrestling between KENTA and Obariyon.
Eventually the Batiri took charge and KENTA took a crazy beating. Eventually he made the hot tag and the crowd went nuts as Marufuiji took it to the Batiri.
Of course, it was still anyone's match and the attempts to win started coming, but Kodma scored the first fall over KENTA after a sick spinning suplex!
At nearly 30 minutes in, we knew were in for a marathon and not a sprint.
The action continued to go back and forth with each team utilizing defense and offensive tags to keep it anyone's game.
The second fall came over 45 minutes in as Marufuji somehow came back from a FLYING DDT and scored with a capture suplex over Kodama to even it at 1 fall a piece.
The action continued in see saw fashion and when Obariyon kicked out after a BUSAIKU KNEE KICK the crowd was in shock just as much as KENTA.
The fans were cheering both teams as we made our way to the finish. Out of pure respect if nothing else. There was yet more quick tag work on both sides and it was too close to call until Kodama and Obariyon hit the Batiri Blitz Kicks on Marufuji! Obariyon sought to wear an already exhausted Marufuji down... He tagged Kodma for the double-team, but Marufuji catches Kodama with a flying elbow! Flash kick! Hangman's DDT... Kodama is on dream street... KENTA is tagged in!
KENTA sends Kodama into the turnbuckle... They clobber each other with lariats! Both men are down... The ref starts the count... KENTA is up! He steps back... Kodama is rising... BUSAIKU KNEE KICK! 1...2...3!!! KENTA and Marufuji win the titles!
The audience is giving all four a standing ovation. They Batiri slink away, but stare into the ring. Even the demons can't help but have respect for what just went down. They were so close, but the team of KENTA and Marufuji were able to edge them out in dramatic fashion. The first truly classic match in CHP's young history.
The presentation ceremony afterwards is kept professional and honorable as we fade to black.
KENTA & Marufuji won the Campeon de Parejas
Overall Card Rating: 3.32

CHP #8: CHIKARA Grand Champion 08.23.2112 from The Arena, Philadelphia, PA
Eddie Kingston vs. Ultramantis Black Ultramantis Black defeated Eddie Kingston with a PRAYING MANTIS BOMB at 8:33 Match Rating: 3.25 Match Notes: This match was the Block B Final to determine who would face Claudio later on in the night to crown the CHP Grand Champion!
This match was a surprise for many fans as Ultramantis Black took the fight to Kingston big time. Still Kingston made it clear that he'd have to be knocked out in order to lose his shot at the title.
And Mantis was willing to oblige. Kingston had only a couple flurries here and there as this match was all about what Mantis would have to do to put Kingston away.
In the end it took 4 PRAYING MANTIS BOMBS and three other pin attempts to finally leave Kingston on the mat for the 1, 2, 3 after the fourth and final PMB!
Ultramantis Black moves on to the final match!
Vin Gerard and Stigma vs. The Osirian Portal Ophidian defeated Stigma with a rolling prawn hold at 24:24 Match Rating: 3.75 Match Notes: This was another astounding tag team contest in Chikara!
Stigma and Ophidian absorbed insane amounts of punishment and the match could've gone either way, but Ophidian always seemed to come back in big ways and in spite of excellent tag work and double teaming by UnStable, the Osirian Portal was able to eke out a victory with a reverse rolling prawn hold from Ophidian on Stigma!
It was hard fought win in a fantastic match!
Incoherence vs. F.I.S.T. Hallowicked defeated Chuck Taylor with a Rydeen Bomb at 15:04 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: Solid tag contest that was simply a story of each team throwing bombs and big moves to see who would fold first!
Taylor took loads of punishment at the hands of Incoherence as they worked the tag and pulled out all the stops, but the Kentucky Gentleman would not stay down and nearly turned the course of the match after assisting Gargano with the ankle trap/leg drop and hitting the OMEGA DRIVER on Frightmare for a near fall!
Things continued back and forth with FIST finally dominating a portion of the bout.
The finish came as Taylor was working over Hallowicked and seemed to have things in hand, but Hallowicked came back with a Rydeen Bomb off the ropes and scored the win after a fast paced hard fought bout that saw multiple pin attempts and lots of action in and out of the ring.
Jigsaw vs. Icarus Icarus defeated Jigsaw with a BLU-RAY at 20:30 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: This match was just great. These two flowed so well together and told a great story with lots of hot exchanges, each ending with a nearfall and building to the next. The crowd was hot for the whole thing and there was some great action from both men. Each hit all their big rooms and even scored with finishers. Jigsaw kept coming back after nearfalls and punishing Icarus, but never scoring the victory.
The finish saw Icarus comeback out of no where and hitting an emerald flosion for a nearfall. With an intense yell, he followed up with BLU-RAY and scored a great win after an incredible match.
We've definitely got to look forward to these two getting into the ring together again.
The Batiri vs. The Colony Fire Ant defeated Obariyon with a tandem diving stomps at 22:09 Match Rating: 4.25 Match Notes: The Batiri took KENTA and Marufuji to the limit to determine the first Campeon de Parejas, but came up short. The Colony on the other hand were the only team not to fall to KENTA and Marufuji on their way to championship gold. That match ended in a time limit draw and some are wondering if a rematch wouldn't come out with a different result.
We knew these four wouldn't back down and that we were in for a treat. They didn't disappoint either. There was hi flying and mat wrestling, brawling and double teaming. It had everything you'd want from good tag team action.
The finish saw Obariyon taking it to Soldier Ant, and hitting two rolling Germans, but Soldier Ant came back with a flying forearm and then made the tag... Tandem diving stomps! Fire Ant hooks the leg! 1, 2, 3!
The Colony pick up a huge win and you can bet they want a shot at the Campeon de Parejas!
Mike Quackenbush vs. Brodie Lee Brodie Lee defeated Mike Quackenbush with a cobra clutch suplex at 10:00 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: There's no denying the heart of Mike Quackenbush. There's also no denying the power of Brodie Lee. Both were on abundant display in this match.
Quackenbush kept kicking out and coming back. of course, Lee kept coming back and brutalizing Quack.
The finish saw Brodie hit a series of stiff moves. Inclduing a Brodie Bomb and a Black Hole Slam. A couple of BIG BOOTS weren't enough, but finally a cobra clutch suplex gave Brodie Lee a strong win.
Claudio Castagnoli vs. Ultramantis Black for the Grand Champion of CHIKARA Claudio Castagnoli defeated Ultramantis Black with a bicycle kick at 13:14 Claudio Castagnoli defeated Ultramantis Black with a RICOLA BOMB at 17:36 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: It all boiled down to these two competitors! Ultramantis had to fight a long road to get here including a match earlier against Eddie Kingston. Claudio on the other hand basically cruised through his block and remains undefeated in CHP! Can he continue the streak to become the first Grand Champion? Or will Ultramantis be able to take this chance and turn it into gold?
They chain wrestled to start, but Claudio got control and nearly scored the first fall early, but Ultramantis would not stay down and rallied back with a headbutt. Castagnoli would not be denied though and came back.
They kept things fairly honorable and in the ring for a while, but they weren't above brawling eventually and hit the outside for a couple of spells.
Back inside Claudio pressed his advantage and nearly put him away with a diving uppercut and then another nearfall with a RICOLA BOMB, but Mantis wouldn't stay down!
A bicycle kick scored the first fall after nearly 15 minutes of great action.
Ultramantis tried to mount a comeback, but Claudio would cut it off and hit another RICOLA BOMB for a second fall and the win a few moments later!
Claudio Castagnoli is undefeated and has been crowned the first CHP Grand Champion!
What a run! Claudio celebrates in the the ring as streamers fall. Chris Hero comes to celebrate with his sometimes partner as the audience cheers.
Nigel McGuinness is here!!! He comes out from the crowd with a mic and challenges Castagnoli to a match for the title! As Castagnoli is about to accept, Hero blindsides McGuinness with an elbow!
While this is happening Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black jump Ultramantis! They'r beating him down when Brodie Lee makes the save!?
Claudio Castagnoli won the Grand Champion of CHIKARA
Overall Card Rating: 3.61

Great action in this fed. The detail in the reports is fantastic and must be incredibly time consuming. Claudio on top is a good thing. How are you determine your time limits?

Thanks! It does take a little time which is why I don't get them out quite as quickly as I'd like, but I'm having a ton of fun lately and I've completed about 5 cards in the past week.
I'm very pleased with Claudio's performance so far and without spoiling anything, he and Nigel have a great match coming up.
I've always used a simple method for my time limits. I use real time multiplied by 1.5. I usually roll the matches in such a way that makes sense to me, too. For instance, if someone grabs a hold or submission move, I might take a little extra time to roll the next move. On the other hand if they're throwing strikes or there are a lot of "quick" reversals, I'll keep the dice rolling. It's not always an exact science, but I like it.
Thanks again for reading!

CHP #9: The First Defense 09.15.2112 from Highline Ballroom, Manhattan, NY
Los Ice Creams vs. Incoherence Frightmare defeated El Hijo Del Ice Cream with a crucifix bomb at 4:40 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: Incoherence has been building steam ever since their 30 minute classic with Osirian Portal and now they find themselves one win away from those precious 3 points! If they win tonite, they will be able to challenge for the Campeon de Parejas!
Ice Cream Jr. and Frightmare started off and it was all Frightmare!
Even after El Hijo was tagged in Frightmare kept control and made a big tag to Hallowicked. Wicked did some more damage and then Incoherence hit HEADLESS HORSEMEN, but somehow El Hijo kicked out!
Frightmare was like a freight train, tho and ended up hitting a crucifix bomb moments later to score the win and secure the title shot for his team!
Icarus vs. Eddie Kingston Icarus defeated Eddie Kingston with a BLU-RAY at 6:10 Match Rating: 2.25 Match Notes: This didn't quite go as expected. A chop battle shockingly cost Kingston.
Icarus immediately went for WINGS OF ICARUS and kept using it to wear down Kingston big time. Kingston was in bad shape but wouldn't stay down. Icarus lacked any honor and got away with a chairshot!
Back inside he punished Kingston some more, but in the end it took an astounding three BLU-RAYs to put Kingston away!
Icarus is now one win away from being able to challenger for the Grand Championship!
Acid Jaz, Marshe Rockett, and Willie Richardson vs. Ares, Tursas, and Jakob Hammermeier Willie Richardson defeated Tursas with a DROPPIN DA BOMB at 11:26 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: These six wasted no time in getting things off to a hot start.
While all six men saw action, it became a story of the big men. First the Soul Touchaz attempted to take out Tursas and then the BDK took it Willie Richardson. When both men finally collided towards the end of the bout neither was in top shape.
Richardson was able to seize the upper hand and just before things devolved into chaos, the Soul Touchaz were DROPPIN THE BOMB on Tursas for the win.
The teams had to be separated as they continued fighting after the bell...
Quackensaw vs. All Night Express Kenny King defeated Jigsaw with a small package at 11:58 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: Lots of great tag action was to be had in this one. They jockeyed for position early and worked the tag to train to get the upper hand.
Eventually, Jigsaw was in a little trouble, but he made a tag to Quackenbush and Lightning took over!
Titus was in big trouble and Quack even hit a tope to the outside for punctuation.
King and Jigsaw went back and forth and Quack even scored a nearfall after a QUACKENDRIVER III.
Just when Jigsaw thought he had things in hand, King grabbed a small package off the ropes for a quick 1, 2, 3!
Jigsaw was hot and started to go after King after the bell, but Mike Quackenbush calmed his partner down after an exchange they went to shake hands with the All Night Express, but Larry Sweeney grabbed a mic and took exception.
SWEENEY: I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but the Sweet & Sour Express, see what I did there, boys, does not shake hands with losers and masked men! In fact, for those that missed the historic EVOLVE action from last weekend, let me recap, Sweet N Sour, Inc is on a mission to dominate the sport of professional wrestling! And as the executive director and manager of the aforementioned Sweet N Sour Inc, I am here to let you all know that it doesn't matter if it's CHIKARA, EVOLVE, Ring of Honor, the Combat Zone, or any other group that hangs a set of ropes around a squared circle, we will be there and we will be there winning GOLD!
So, Mr. Quackenbush, you just have to ask yourself... Who will I sign next?!?
Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black vs. Brodie Lee and Ultramantis Black Tyler Black defeated Ultramantis Black with a Contra Code/450 Splash combo at 16:55 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: The story going into this bout has seen the Age of the Fall provoking Ultramantis Black since the first card. Following a bout that Mantis had with Brodie Lee, the Age of the fall struck again and beat down Ultramantis. But Brodie Lee stepped in! He didn't go so far as to shake Ultramantis' hand, but he certainly saved him from a further beating.
This match was made by the powers that be, tho apparently neither Lee or Mantis were consulted prior to it. It will be interesting to see how they function as a team going against the unit that is Tyler Black and Jimmy Jacobs.
Ultramantis and Tyler started it off going back and forth until Mantis was able to string together a set of moves that had Black reeling. Ending with a double knee gutbuster and following it with a flying lariat from the top!
Somehow Tyler came back and tagged Jacobs in. Jacobs went after Mantis with a fury. Age of the Fall worked the tag and wore down Ultramantis, but a desperation tag brought Lee in against Black and Brodie ran roughshod on him!
He eventually worked his way up to three BIG BOOTS, but between interference from Jacobs and a kickout, Black was able to stay alive.
The match devolved into a huge brawl at one point with all four men in the ring slugging it out.
The finish came soon after Jacobs tried to choke out Ultramantis. The ref took a bump, and Jacobs continued to punish Ultramantis while he was out! He even brought out the railroad spike, but Ultramantis avoided it
The ref cam to and a tag brought Black in and Jacobs hit the Contra Code followed by the 450 from the top from Black! Jacobs spears Lee off the apron. 1, 2, 3!
The Age of the Fall record the win, but they're not done... Jacobs and Black stand over Ultramantis and Jacobs pulls out his railroad spike!!
Black picked Ultramantis as Jacobs readied to drive the spike into his masked face!
Brodie Lee is in the ring and cuts Jacobs off with a BIG BOOT! Black is met with a lariat and flies out of the ring!
Lee then helps Ultramantis to his feet! Where is this feud going to take us? Especially with these two men aligning out of a possible shared interest?
Jacobs and Black head to the back with Jacobs clutching the railroad spike in his mouth and boring holes into his target, Ultramantis Black...
The Colony vs. KENTA & Marufuji for the Campeon de Parejas Fire Ant defeated Naomichi Marufuji with a BEACH BREAK at 18:57 KENTA defeated Fire Ant with a hot shot tornado DDT at 12:31 Fire Ant defeated Naomichi Marufuji with a BEACH BREAK at 33:25 Match Rating: 4.50 Match Notes: The last time these two teams met they wrestled to a 30 minute draw! It was a classic encounter that now leads to a bout that is 2/3 Falls and has a 60 minute time limit. And it is for the Campeon de Parejas!
Fire Ant and Soldier Ant make their way out to a great reaction from the crowd. Many feel they are indeed the most deserving of this shot, tho Larry Sweeney may disagree...
The Campeon de Parejas holders, KENTA and Naomichi Marufuji make their way out next and there is a big fight feel here!
KENTA and Fire Ant start things off and KENTA slaps Fire Ant in the face! So that's the KENTA we're getting tonite! He strings together a few holds and tags in Marufuji... Who then promptly slaps Fire Ant in the face! The champs are certainly making no bones about who's boss.
But they're about to get as good as they give. The action was fast and furious and hard hitting. The champs dictated the pace early on and punished Fire Ant in particular. But Fire Ant came back and hit a burning hammer on Marufuji for a near fall.
The first fall came, tho, when KENTA was tagged in and hit a dropkick followed by a hot shot tornado DDT for a 1, 2, 3!
The champs have that all important first fall.
The Colony would come back though and the second fall seemed to be there's. Fire Ant hit a twisting senton from the top and then followed it with BEACH BREAK for the 1, 2, 3! We're one fall a piece!
The match was already about 19 minutes in, but no one could be prepared for the face that they went an additional 15 minutes. It was an incredible 15 minutes that would've made it's own match, but as the second half of an already great bout it turned it into magic. The pace, the stiffness, the energy. It was incredible. The nearfalls had the crowd on the edge of their seats and as they began to thrown the kitchen sink at one another, you began to believe we could be here all night!
KENTA pulled out a tiger driver at one point and nearly out Soldier Ant away, but the match continued! KENTA then went on to kick out of ANTS GO MARCHING!
The finish came shortly after Fire Ant surprised KENTA with a sunset flip, but still the champ kicked out!
Soldier Ant pressed his newfound advantage and even continued to dish out the punishment after a relatively fresh Marufuji came in! A tag and the double team diving stomps led Fire Ant to another BEACH BREAK to score the 1, 2, 3!
The Colony are the new Campeon de Parejas!
What a match! It's an emotional reaction from all four men. KENTA and Marufuji begrudgingly shake hands and then present the new champs with the belts.
The Colony won the Campeon de Parejas
Claudio Castagnoli vs. Nigel McGuinness for the Grand Champion of CHIKARA Claudio Castagnoli defeated Nigel McGuinness with a RICOLA BOMB at 8:24 Claudio Castagnoli defeated Nigel McGuinness with a roll-through at 11:46 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: Nigel McGuinness threw out a challenge at the Grand Champion, Claudio Castagnoli, immediately after Castagnoli won the tournament to crown the champ. Claudio accepted. Whether it was pride or adrenaline speaking, there's no doubt McGuinness would be a worthy first challenger.
They were throwing bombs out of the gate and McGuinness scored early with a JAWBREAKER LARIAT! Castagnoli wasn't going to be put away that early, tho. They fought back and forth, but eventually Claudio took over and mauled Nigel with a series of european uppercuts or variations thereof. He hit a RICOLA BOMB, but Nigel got the shoulder up!
Claudio didn't back down and bombarded him with more leading to a second RICOLA BOMB and the first fall!
They went back and forth, but Nigel took over and started to pummel him with his stiff arsenal, but when he came off the top rope, Castagnoli caught him with an upper cut and made the cover for the second straight fall!
He celebrated his dominance in the ring as Nigel looked out of it on the mat.
Overall Card Rating: 3.18

The Throwbacks vs. The Batiri Sugar Dunkerton defeated Obariyon with a GRANDSLAM DUNK at 3:09 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: Obariyon and Dasher started things off and it was pretty much all Obariyon.
Hatfield made the desperation tag, tho and that changed the complexion of the bout.
Dunkerton took control and a back body drop followed by Kiss My Converse off the ropes and Obariyon was in big trouble!
GRANDSLAM DUNK and Dunkerton stops Kodama while Hatfield gets the 1, 2, 3!
Chuck Taylor vs. Ares Chuck Taylor defeated Ares with a Cross Crab at 6:04 Match Rating: 2.75 Match Notes: It's been announced that Icarus will challenge for Castagnoli's Grand Championship at Torneo Cibernetico in December and this match between Taylor and Ares represents a battle between those men's seconds.
Icarus accompanied Taylor, while the champ came to the ring with Ares.
They had an interesting match that seemed more about whose interference would win the match.
Ares punished Taylor early and brutalized Chuck Taylor with a back body drop on the floor.
He went on to hit a TIGER DRIVER, but somehow Taylor got the shoulder up!
Ares went for another, but Icarus jumped on the apron! Ares went after him and it looked like Claudio would jump him, but Chuck Taylor came over the top and took out Ares.
Back inside Taylor fought hard and nearly put Ares out with an OMEGA DRIVER, but Claudio interfered... Only to be met with a fierce Icarus on the outside and the two began fighting outside. While the ref restored order Taylor continued his onslaught and locked in a Cross Crab, but there was no ref.
Sole Food! Times 2! Ares will be eating soft food for a week.
Taylor locks in another Cross Crab and Ares has no choice but to tap!
Strong win as Claudio and Icarus exchange words.
What was a simple challenge seems to be heating up.
All Night Express and Larry Sweeney vs. Eddie Kingston and Quackensaw Eddie Kingston defeated Larry Sweeney with a SLIDING D at 10:56 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: Stemming from Sweeney's taunts to Quackenbush this big Trios bout was signed. Sweeney has promised a new signing to Sweet & Sour Inc soon, but it was just Sweeney and the All Night Express in the house tonite.
Quackenbush and Titus started the match off and Titus brought it! He hit the MUFF DIVER early and that brought in Jigsaw and King.
The match continued in see saw fashion with all 6 men seeing time in the ring.
At one point Jigsaw hit a huge plancha on King out of the ring!
Sweeney nearly scored a win via piledriver over Quackenbush.
And Quack hit a big QUACKENDRIVER IV on Titus, but Sweeney made the save.
Sweeney went up top at one point, but Quack rolled through and scored a nearfall.
The finish saw Quack punish Sweeney, then tag Jigsaw, who did likewise, then finally bring in Kingston who brutalized Sweeney with a vicious SLIDING D to score the win.
Good match!

They kept it in the ring for the most part, but later on things did start to boil over and we saw some brawling outside.
It was anybody's game, tho with 3.0 nearly sealing the deal after a 3.0 LUNGBLOWER!
Stigma made the save, tho and in spite of surviving a BOSTON CRAB! earlier, showed little signs of injury and was able to put Shane Matthews away after STIGMATA!
Ultramantis Black vs. Tyler Black Tyler Black defeated Ultramantis Black with a 450 SPLASH at 15:57 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: Age of the Fall has been after UltraMantis Black for months. Jimmy Jacobs has been trying to sway Mantis to come over to the Fall while UltraMantis had been chasing the 12 Large: Summit. Some say in spite of making it to the finals, that UltraMantis was preoccupied with Jacobs and his stable mates.
It's also made strange bedfellows of Brodie Lee and UltraMantis as they fight the Age of the Fall together.
Tyler Black has been the workhorse of the Fall and finds himself taking on UltraMantis Black.
These two went back and forth in spectacular fashion and it was anybody's match.
They threw the kitchen sink at one another and Black used Mantis' face for target practice with a series of kicks.
Mantis battled back tho and hit a PRAYING MANTIS BOMB that couldn't quite secure the win. The action spilled out and both men hit big suicide dives that took a ton out of each competitor.
They kept it high risk for a while and Tyler Black came out on top after a springboard splash to the outside.
Back in, tho he missed 450 SPLASH! Mantis roared back. Rites of Spring, Cosmic Disaster!
Black rolls out. Mantis goes for the plancha, but Black moves! He hits a springboard off the apron of his own!
450 SPLASH back inside! 1...2... NO! Tyler Black goes back up...
450 SPLASH again!! 1, 2, 3!
Jimmy Jacobs is out and he and Tyler Black try to demask UltraMantis Black!
Officials are out! Jacobs is trying to take the mask, but Brodie Lee is in! Jacobs backs off. He's smiling at Lee and saying "You always have options, Brodie..."
Black and Jacobs slink away...
UltraMantis is up and tries to shake Lee's hand, but Brodie slaps it away and leaves the ring!?!
Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli vs. Johnny Gargano and Icarus Icarus defeated Claudio Castagnoli with a roll-through at 12:54 Match Rating: 3.75 Match Notes: Icarus and Castagnoli are scheduled to meet for the Grand Championship on the next card. Hero has been out of action since his appearance in the EVOLVE Championship tournament where he suffered a tweaked knee in a bout with Trent Baretta.
Castagnoli, meanwhile has be spending more time with his BDK cronies...
Gargano and Hero started things off in style and we had a great match from the get go.
Gargano made a quick tag to Icarus and Hero was in trouble early. The double team had Hero reeling as Gargano was brought back in... HURTS DONUT! A near fall, but Claudio makes the save.
Hero would survive another nearfall and brought Claudio in who went to work with an Inverted CHIKARA Special.
Icarus and the champ fought back and forth with Claudio taking control eventually and hitting a gutwrench German followed by a Roaring European Uppercut for a nearfall!
Inverted CHIKARA Special, gutwrench German!
Icarus is in a bad way...
Claudio comes off the top, but Icarus rolls through and hooks the legs... 1, 2, 3!
Icarus steals a quick win!
Icarus rolls out and celebrates with Gargano! Claudio hasn't been pinned in months! He's the Grand Champion and the number 1 contender just put his shoulders to the mat!
Claudio is hot! Hero is in, but Claudio pushes him away!
"Where were you?! I had your back!" he says.
Hero is trying to plead his case, but here comes Tursas and Ares!
Before things can break down, Hero heads out of the ring and to the back waving goodbye to Claudio!
- 2/3 Falls - Incoherence vs. The Colony for the Campeon de Parejas Soldier Ant defeated Frightmare with a TKO at 9:24 Frightmare defeated Soldier Ant with a KNEECOLEPSY at 18:09 Fire Ant defeated Hallowicked with a Burning Hammer at 29:59 Match Rating: 4.50 Match Notes: This was bound to be a great match as the Colony attempts to make their first defens of the Campeon de Parejas after taking the straps from champs KENTA & Marufuji.
Incoherence were not a part of the initial tournament for the titles, but they've been on a tear since tearing down the house in a time limit draw against the Osirian Portal on our first card.
These four did not disappoint and it was see saw battle from the get go.
Fire Ant and Frightmare started things off in hot fashion with a series of great exchanges. The Colony worked the tag early, but Firghtmare came back and nearly put Soldier Ant away with a somersault plancha.
The first fall occurred after Soldier Ant hit Frightmare with the TKO!
After some more furious action in and out of the ring between all four, Frightmare avenged the first fall with KNEECOLEPSY on Soldier Ant.
The match continued in hi flying, hi impact style with Hallowicked hitting a Rydeen Bomb on Fire Ant, but Fire Ant made the desperation tag and Soldier Ant worked him over before bringing back in Fire Ant! Fire Ant is on, well, fire! He hits a series of leaping kicks and then seals the deal to retain the titles with the first defense after a Burning Hammer!

CHP #11: Executioner's Song 11.09.2112 from The Arena, Philadelphia, PA
Archibald Peck vs. Kobald Archibald Peck defeated Kobald with an Unchained Melody at 16:25 Match Rating: 3.75 Match Notes: Veronica accompanied Peck to the ring side area as Kobald flies solo to the ring this evening.
This was a fantastic bout that had everything, including the comedy, of course. At one point Kobald left the ring and Archie chased him around only for Kobald to get back in, then Archie, then exit Kobald, etc, etc, rinse wash repeat.
It ended when Kobald caught Peck with a springboard splash.
Eventually Peck was able to use the baton numerous times and it was clear Kobald wouldn't be able to come back. Though he hung in there and they even engaged in some hot exchanges in the end, Peck was able to put him away after Unchained Melody.
He and Veronica celebrate in the ring as Kobald writhes at ringside... Then the Batiri come out and Peck exits screaming from the ring and runs through the crowd...
Los Ice Creams vs. The Throwbacks Ice Cream Jr. defeated Sugar Dunkerton with a roll-up at 18:36 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: This match followed as a perfect tag team mirror of the last contest.
They wrestled a great match on both sides and tossed in the obligatory comedy with El Hijo throwing in a pair of fanny pinchers for good measure.
Dasher Hatfield looked good early with a series of arm drags and couple of big moves that led to some great tag work.
The Ice Creams were able to take over tho and the action got hotter and faster as we neared the finishing line.
Hatfield was in trouble as Jr brought it to him big time and scored a nearfall after a tilt a whirl back breaker.
Jack & Jill Hammer hits hard, but Harfield makes the hot tag!!
Jr gets sent into the turnbuckle by Dunkerton, but Dunkerton misses the spear and goes straight into the post!
Jr rolls him up! 1, 2, 3!
Chuck Taylor vs. Tursas Chuck Taylor defeated Tursas with a DQ at 11:26 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: Prior to the match Claudio Castagnoli made his way out with the Grand Championship and the members of the BDK in tow!
CLAUDIO: There have clearly been some recent developments in my life... Chris Hero decided to take his ball and go elsewhere for a time. I'm sure he'll come slinking back when it suits him, but in the meantime, I realized there was only one crew worth watching my back, one crew worth bringing to the top with me. And that crew is the BDK!
Icarus, you want to gloat about pinning me in tag action? You want to say you're coming for the Grand Championship? That you're the best thing going in CHIKARA today? Well, I think we all know that I am the King of Wrestling! I am the leader of the BDK! I am the CHIKARA Grand Champion and I will not let you take this-
Icarus' music hits and he comes out with F.I.S.T.
ICARUS: Claudio, you've always talked a big game, you're always running in packs, but this time you're not facing a lone wolf! You're facing the leader of F.I.S.T. And I've already pinned you once! But let's not sit here and do a lot squawking, let's cut right through all the bull, and let's not wait until Torneo Cibernetico next month! Why don't you put that title on the line here, tonite, in Philadelphia!
This gets a great reaction from the fans as Claudio talks it out with the BDK.
CLAUDIO: Ok, ok... I'll do it... IF! And only if, Chuck Taylor can win his match with Tursas right now!
They waste no time getting to the match and Chuck Taylor takes it to the big man BIG TIME! He uses his speed advantage to take control and hits him with every big move in his arsenal. Even when Tursas flipped him upside down with a lariat when Taylor was coming off the ropes with his own springboard clothesline!
Taylor was first to his feet and built to an OMEGA DRIVER on the big guy, but Ares caused the distraction and Taylor couldn't get the pin.
Tursas mounted a comeback and turned it into a brawl outside.
They fought back and forth in a heated contest, but Taylor was able to stay one step ahead and scored another nearfall after a somersault suicide dive! Ares interfered AGAIN!
Johnny Gargano was chasing him around the ringside area as Taylor attempted to make Tursas tap with the Cross Crab, but action once again spilled outside!
Tursas must have thought the ref was preoccupied with Gargano and Ares or he'd just had enough. Whatever the case was, Tursas decimated Chuck Taylor and put him through a table to draw a DQ!
Icarus gets his shot tonite! Claudio is out and doesn't look happy with Tursas or the ref!
The BDK is threatening the ref, but the rest of F.I.S.T. make their way back ringside and the stand off results in cooler heads for now.
These two teams will face off in more singles action next!
Gran Akuma vs. Pinkie Sanchez Pinkie Sanchez defeated Gran Akuma with a BURNING SNICKLEFRITZ at 9:46 Match Rating: 3.25 Match Notes: This one was a fight from the get go.
Akuma took the lead early and punished Sanchez with every move in his arsenal. He hit him with the Yoshi Tonic and the Falcon Arrow.
Sanchez was able to make a comeback tho and they see sawed in and out of the ring. Akuma was fired up and nearly drew a DQ on the outside, but the match kept going and back inside it looked like Akuma was going to seal the deal, but Sanchez came back!
He applied an Inverted CHIKARA Special, but Akuma was able to break the hold and then mounted a big come back scoring with a piledriver off the ropes!
Akuma hit another Yoshi Tonic and it looked like he had him, but Sanchez leveled him with a Snapmare driver from no where!
BURNING SNICKLEFRITZ! Gargano tries to stop the count, but Hammermeier stops him!
1, 2, 3! Sanchez steals a win and Akuma can't believe it, but he is also feeling the effects of the bout.
Johnny Gargano vs. Ares This match ended in a draw (TIME LIMIT DRAW) at 30:00 Match Rating: 4.50 Match Notes: This was an incredible bout! Both men went back and forth with exchanges of chain wrestling and then spurts of offensive domination. The brawled outside and wrestled technically on the inside. Both Chuck Taylor and Tursas got involved, but the action was imply amazing.
Neither could put the other away in spite of finishers and big moves. Ares, with a little help from Tursas survived four HURTS DONUTs and Gargano was able to get the shoulder up in spite of a couple TIGER DRIVERs.
The finish came as a huge brawl erupted outside the ring!
Tursas and Taylor were fighting as Gargano and Ares went back and forth. The bell began ringing and many believed the bout was being called due to a double DQ, but it turned out the time limit had expired in this one!
Other members of FIST and the BDK ran out to try and even the odds. The BDK do have a numbers advantage and it takes quite a few people from the back to finally separate them all. This turned ugly quick! And we've still got a title match between Castagnoli and Icarus later!
- Non-Title - Quackensaw vs. The Colony Jigsaw defeated Fire Ant with a jumping enzugiri at 11:36 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: Quack brutalized Fire Ant early and he was in trouble. He rolled out after a Quackendriver and Soldier Ant came in looking to even things up.
They would go back and forth and Jigsaw would come in. He looked to dictate the pace and the team of Quackenbush worked over the soldier with great tag efficiency.
Soldier Ant came back, tho and scored a couple of nearfalls. The action was lightning fast as Fire Ant assisted with the tandem diving stomps, but wisely tagged out, still feeling the effects of the CHIKARA Special and Quackendriver from earlier.
Jigsaw and Quackenbush dominated Soldier Ant for a time until he made a desperation tag to Fire Ant.
Jigsaw was ready for him and hit him with elbows and a pair of jumping enzugiri's that nearly took his head off. He got the shoulder up, but then Jigsaw hit Leap of Faith!
Another jumping enzugiri!
1, 2, 3! Quackensaw just took the Campeonatos de Parejas down in non-title action! They get the right to challenge for the belts at some point down the line! Will they make the move for tomorrow night? Or Cibernetico? Or wait until another time?
Age of the Fall and Necro Butcher vs. Incoherence and Ultramantis Black This match ended in a draw (TIME LIMIT DRAW) at 30:00 Match Rating: 4.25 Match Notes: Prior to the bout, Jimmy Jacobs made his way out with the Age of the Fall and promised the darkest days still lay ahead for Ultramantis Black. Unless he chooses the path of least resistance... his true path, and joins the Age of the Fall.
Mantis makes his way out alone saying he doesn't seem to have a partner in Brodie Lee tonite and hasn't spoken with the big man in weeks, but that won't stop him. in fact he'd like to get his band back together, so to speak... It's Incoherence! Hallowicked and Frightmare! The Spectral Envoy is back together!
This six man battle will be intense. Tho one does have to wonder what the story is with Brodie Lee...
This Trios bout was amazing and told a hell of a story as UltraMantis Black was looking to dismantle Age of the Fall!
Hallowicked and Frightmare definitely had his back and showed off their skills in and out of the ring.
Hallowicked was caught at one point by Jimmy Jacobs when he was attempting a suicide dive. he hit him with a dropkick instead and took over the match.
There were tons of nearfalls and reversals and all six men were in on the action at various time. Coming towards the end UltraMantis was about to put Tyler Black away with a PRAYING MANTIS BOMB, but Jimmy Jacobs blindsided him with the railroad spike!
The ref missed it and soon Black and Mantis were outside as Jacobs and Hallowicked went at it...
They too went out and Frightmare and Butcher were in! Frightmare was on point and hit him with a flying head scissors off the top! He followed it with a GRAVEYARD SMASH!
The bell is ringing?!? The time limit is up! They're still going at it!
It's Brodie Lee! He makes his way out through the crowd! Jacobs is standing above Mantis with the spike... He backs off when he sees Lee... Brodie is measuring him for a boot...
BIG BOOT!!!! To Ultramantis!!!!
The crowd is crazy! Brodie Lee stands above Mantis... Jacobs walks over to him and Lee kneels... Jacobs places his hand on his shoulder and hands him the spike! Lee grabs it and shakes his hand!
Incoherence are trying to get Mantis away from them... Butcher, Black, and Lee all stand around Jacobs...
- 2/3 Falls - Claudio Castagnoli vs. Icarus for the Grand Champion of CHIKARA Icarus defeated Claudio Castagnoli with a DQ at 1:39 Claudio Castagnoli defeated Icarus with a RICOLA BOMB at 8:16 Claudio Castagnoli defeated Icarus with a Swiss Death at 14:55 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: The heat going into this was palpable.
It started off furiously and the first fall came suddenly by way of DQ when Claudio slammed Icarus with a chair across the back!
Claudio was arguing with the ref and it looked like Icarus would take a second fall and the championship, but Claudio battled back.
At one point the BDK came out, but FIST stopped them and the officials forced them all to the back.
Out of the brawl that occurred, Claudio took advantage and hit a RICOLA BOMB for the second fall.
They traded holds, but Icarus came out on top and it looked like he might have the match in hand, but Claudio caught him with Swiss Death out of no where and made a cover for the victory!
FIST quickly made their way out and the BDK did as well. We have a standoff as the show comes to a close!

That card was off the charts. Flawless booking. Comedy to open night followed a hot tag match with nice finish that should like warrant a rematch. The Brodie angle was a excellent way to end the six man Broadway. The main event was well played out and I really liked the set up earlier in the card. Might fine card imo.

CHP #12: Revenge of the Mantis 11.10.2112 from The Arena, Philadelphia, PA
Jigsaw vs. Fire Ant Jigsaw defeated Fire Ant with a JIG 'N' TONIC at 3:19 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: Jigsaw just steam rolled the Campeonatos de Parejas co holder.
We could see Quackensaw challenging for those titles very soon.
There wasn't much a match to speak of. Jigsaw had the match the whole way and built to the JIG 'N' TONIC early get score the win.
- Sweet - Larry Sweeney comes out with the All Night Express and a mic. he doesn't understand how a team his boys have beaten twice in a row get a non title match with the champs.
He says it should've been the other way around and that tonite he intends on making all of CHIKARA take notice of Sweet & Sour, Inc!
The Throwbacks vs. All Night Express Rhett Titus defeated Sugar Dunkerton with a Standing dropkick at 17:42 Match Rating: 3.25 Match Notes: Sweeney was ringside with his team. Either team could use the win to get something started.
They fought tooth and nail and back and forth. Neither team held the advantage long and there were tons of tags in quick succession.
All four men got in some offense hear and there, but they also took some punishment here and there as well.
It looked like the Throwbacks would have the victory cinched up, but Larry Sweeney got on the apron after they hit the GRAND SLAM and Dunkerton chased him out of the ring.
Kenny King recovered and soon all four men were outside brawling. Dunkerton tried to take control back in the ring, but it didn't last long and Rhett Titus hit a standing dropkick and may have had a handful of tights as they scored the win...
All Night Express has a legitimate claim on the #1 contender spot. They're only one point away!
Sweeney is ecstatic and hopping around ringside.
SWEENEY: I told everyone that tonite would be a special evening for Sweet & Sour... In fact, this was only the beginning... Claudio Castagnoli! You and your BDK think you run this place... Well, Sweet & Sour, Inc has always taken exception to the fact that anyone could challenge us for supremacy in or out of the squared circle. So why don't you grab a partner from your club and meet me in the ring later. Because I have a surprise partner I would love for you to meet!
Stigma and Vin Gerard vs. The Osirian Portal Amasis defeated Vin Gerard with an EGYPTIAN CONNIPTION at 6:55 Match Rating: 2.75 Match Notes: Gerard came out firing and nearly put him away with a 2K1 Bomb, but Amasis kicked out.
They went back and forth for a while and at one point Ophidian took control over Gerard and abused him and subdued him with the Death Vise!
Stigma and Ophidian had crashed and burned outside as Gerard, still nursing his wounds, took on Amasis. Amasis reversed a hold and never looked back. He hit EGYPTIAN CONNIPTION for the 1, 2, 3!
That's two points for the Osirian Portal!
3.0 vs. The Batiri Scott Parker defeated Kodama with a 3.0 LUNGBLOWER at 8:55 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: The Batiri have been on a losing streak after making it to the finals of the Campeonatos de Parejas only to lose to KENTA & Marufuji.
3.0 have lost a recent match to Vin Gerard and Stigma.
Both teams are looking to pick up that first point.
The action fast and furious with lots of back and forth tag action. Teamwork and pin saves certainly played a part in this one.
It looked as tho the Batiri had the match in hand, but Kodama missed a drop kick and Scott Parker took over strong!
The FLASH ROLL-UP wouldn't get the win, but a tag to Shane Matthews led to a 3.0 LUNGBLOWER and that was all she wrote!
The Batiri slink away before being stopped by Jimmy Jacobs on the entrance way... Brodie Lee and Tyler Black appear at his side.
The fans and 3.0 watch as Jacobs motions to the curtain and the Batiri walk through with the Age of the Fall following!?! Ares and Claudio Castagnoli vs. Chris Hero and Larry Sweeney Chris Hero defeated Ares with a Hero Sandwich at 19:15 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: Ares and Castagnoli made there was to the ring. The Grand Champion didn't seem too phased by Sweeney's challenge.
Sweeney strutted out and got in the ring, alone. He grabbed a mic and announced that his tag team partner would be:
CHRIS HERO!
Hero comes to the ring and we've got a match! Claudio doesn't look happy.
What a match it was. Ares and Hero went back and forth to start off.
Sweeney came in and got some good offense against Ares. It was looking like Claudio and Hero weren't going to face off at all, but eventually Ares tagged him in and Hero and Claudio went at it!
Claudio hit a giant swing, but Hero was rolled out as Castagnoli was dizzy.
Sweeney came in and hit not one, but two 12 LARGE ELBOW DROPs! Somehow, Castagnoli evaded the pinfall and rolled out as Sweeney did the same.
Hero and Ares went toe to toe, but Hero came out on top of the exchange and tho, Claudio made the save on HERO'S WELCOME, he couldn't make it past Sweeney in time after Hero hit Hero Sandwich for the 1, 2, 3!
Hero grabbed the mic and told Castagnoli he wanted him in the ring one on one at Cibernetico! He never should've disrespected him and pushed him! And if he has any guts he'll put the Grand Championship on the line!
Eddie Kingston vs. Icarus Eddie Kingston defeated Icarus with a Countout at 15:24 Match Rating: 3.75 Match Notes: The competition was heated early on. They went back and forth and there seemed to be more than just the rankings at stake.
It really could've gone either way, but the brawling, which started early, in and out of the ring, belonged to Kingston.
Icarus nearly put him away, but he missed a spear and Eddie roared back to life!
He scored a nearfall with a half nelson suplex, and then hit the SLIDING D, but Icarus wouldn't stay down.
Kingston was pissed and took it out on Icarus. He tossed him outside, but let him come back in only to toss him again!
Icarus climbs back in... BACKFIST TO THE FUTURE! That's gotta be it! 1... 2... NO! Icarus gets the shoulder up!
Kingston is enraged and rolls Icarus out... He piledrives him on the concrete!!!
Kingston rolls in as the ref counts to 20!
Kingston stands supreme but you got to believe that we haven't see the last of these two facing off. Icarus is hurt and has to be helped to the back by FIST!
Brodie Lee, Necro Butcher, and Age of the Fall vs. Delirious, Ultramantis Black, and Incoherence Ultramantis Black defeated Jimmy Jacobs with a PRAYING MANTIS BOMB at 10:42 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: Wild Atomicos action from CHIKARA here!
Going in we know that the tenuous alliance between Mantis and Lee was snapped when Brodie Lee turned on Mantis with a BIG BOOT and went with the Age of the Fall.
Meanwhile, Jimmy Jacobs has continued his war with UltraMantis, decided that since Mantis rejects his guidance and fellowship he has no choice but to destroy him.
As his army grows, should CHIKARA be scared? Especially after seemingly aligning with the Batiri as well.
The walls seem to be closing in on Mantis, but he has reunited with Incoherence and even Delirious!
Of course, there's plenty of history between these men and there's no telling where the twisting road to Torneo Cibernetico will take us!
The action was hot from the get go as Tyler Black and Hallowicked went at it.
Frightmare came in and ended up giving Black a run for his money, but Tyler came roaring back and made a tag to Lee.
Brodie Lee was taking care of business, but Mantis was tagged in and he and Lee exploded on one another!
Mantis ended up taking the fight to him and nearly scored a pinfall, but Lee came back and made the tag to Jacobs.
Jacobs and Mantis went back and forth, but Mantis came out on top and hit a PRAYING MANTIS BOMB to score the win!
The post match brawl was wild and it looked like Mantis' crew was going to win the day, but then... Delirious spit green mist at Mantis!!! The other take down Incoherence and then the Batiri makes their way to the ringside!
Here come Hydra and Crossbones!!! They get Mantis and Incoherence is able to head to higher ground with them...
Jacobs has a mic. He tells Mantis to take a good look, because his forces are strong. And he may have gotten the win tonite, but Torneo Cibernetico will be a different story. Besides, he may be surrounded by four men right now. Former partners... But that if there is one lesson Jacobs has burned into him by now, it's Don't Trust Anybody!
Who will Mantis find to fill his final three slots? Who can he trust? Hydra and Crossbones are here and Incoherence does seem to be on his side for this one, but what will happen at Cibernetico?
Overall Card Rating: 2.76
