CHIKARA Honor Pro Announcement 05.24.2012 from CHIKARA Wrestle Factory, Allentown, PA
- The Beginning - It's the dawning of a new age! Wrestlers from all over the world have made their way to southeastern Pennsylvania to be a part of the next great wrestling promotion: CHIKARA Honor Pro (CHP).
Combining the best athletes from different promotions across the country to form a formidable roster of talent, CHP hopes to bring you the very best in wrestling and entertainment. Whether you want old school athletic contests, or zany antics in and out of the ring, or even hardcore brawling, CHP plans to bring it all. The seeds for CHIKARA Honor Pro were planted by the action brought to you by ROH & the original CHIKARA organization. CHP seeks to break the mold of both of those organizations while remaining true to it's roots.
At first we plan to bring you around 20 cards a year beginning on May 25th, 2012.
Standard matches will be contested one fall to a finish with a 20 minute time limit. Title matches will usually be 2 out of 3 falls contests with a 60 minute time limit. DQs will be given at the referee's discretion and low blows, unmaskings, and foreign objects will not be tolerated! A wrestler will have a 20 count to re-enter the ring and tag matches will be contested using lucha rules.
If a feud goes too far a fight without honor may be granted and under very rare circumstances a steel cage may come into play!
What follows will help to set up the competitors and the prizes they'll be vying for.
- The Roster - Rudos - The Rudos or "heels" of the company are a mix of talents and stables old and new.
Leading the way for CHP's bad guys is none other than the Swiss Sensation, Claudio Castagnoli.
His Kings of Wrestling stable includes Chris Hero and Arik Cannon. It's been a tenuous alliance at best these days and rumors abound that Castagnoli is already recruiting new talent for a different project!
Not to be outdone, Jimmy Jacobs will bring the Age of the Fall to CHP! He's joined by Tyler Black, MsChif, and Necro Butcher! Jacobs is seeking new members for his "cult" all the time... Who could be next to join?
Meanwhile, Ultramantis Black has recruited his Dark Army to battle the forces of good... Or anyone he chooses!
Last but certainly not least is the team of F.I.S.T. led by Icarus and backed by Chuck Taylor and Johnny Gargano. These three seek to win by any means necessary and have no issues with blood, brawling, and DQs...
- The Prizes and Games - What are they fighting for?
Well besides all the personal feuds stemming from personality clashes in and out of the ring, the competitors gracing the CHP ring will be fighting for more than a few accolades.
First and foremost are the Campeon de Parejas. One of the most prestigious tag team titles in all of wrestling. Champions will be crowned after CHP's Tag Team Grand Prix, culminating in a card fittingly titled: Campeon de Parejas.
Teams from all over the world will be competing in this round robin tournament, including a special appearance by Pro-Wrestling NOAH's own KENTA & Marufuji! Brackets to be announced later.
Next up is the CHIKARA Grand Champion! The premier singles title in CHP. With competitors like Bryan Danielson, Kevin Steen, El Generico, Colt Cabana, and many of the names mentioned in the roster details vying for the honor, the round robin style 12 Large: Summit tournament will commence soon with brackets being announced even sooner!
This brings us to the prestigious Young Lions Cup. With the focus on younger competitors it's a stepping stone for stars of the future. Every July the Cup will be fought for in a three day tournament. The winner can defend the title for the next year. The competition to see who can get the most defenses will be fierce and last for years to come!
Last, but not least as far as titles go, is the ICW/ICWA Tex-Arkana Television title... Larry Sweeney brings the belt to CHP and it has been sanctioned to be defended in singles competition at televised events in CHP! A title that could be seen as a joke by some, could be elevated to a higher position depending on who fights for the belt. Currently Sweeney is the recognized champ... How long will his reign last?
Title shots will be decided by the accumulation of CHIKARA points and the big two titles will be defended in 2 out of 3 falls bouts, the TV title will have a 20 minute time limit, and the Young Lion Cup can only be challenged by those who've never held the honor before.
Of course these trophies are just a few of the honors in CHP. Let's not forget the biggest of them all, the King of Trios! This multi-evening tournament focuses on 6-man tag action and seeks to crown the best in CHP once a year.
And, of course, it wouldn't be CHIKARA without the fall tradition of Ciberneticos! This team battle can go a long way to determining what's to come and what's been laid to rest in each CHP season.
Finally, every May, CHP will hold it's Aniversario card. This show will showcase the biggest feuds that have been building each year in CHP and do a lot to determine the course of each season.
- The Roster - Tecnicos - What would wrestling be without the good guys, the baby-faces, or, as we say in CHP, the Tecnicos?!
Leading the way is CHIKARA founder Mike Quackenbush! He frequently teams with his tag partner Jigsaw. Eddie Kingston makes up their third when they look for Trios action.
The team of Hallowicked and Frightmare, Incoherence, do battle against the forces of evil and seek to vanquish the Dark Army and the Osirian Portal. Will they succeed?
The Colony of Fire Ant, Soldier Ant, and Green Ant seek to not only capture every title in CHP, but to do it all the while doing battle with the Kings of Wrestling and FIST.
The American Wolves, Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards, will come to CHP to capture any accolades they can.
- The Roster - Free Agents - Of course this primer just scratches the surface of the action that CHP will bring you. A huge roster of free agents will come and sometimes go as they and the CHP board of directors see fit. Starting off we'll be joined by some of the best talent working the independent scene today.
Bryan Danielson comes to CHP to prove why he is the best wrestler in the world!
Nigel McGuinness wouldn't be far behind Danielson. Will they continue their epic feud in CHP?
Kevin Steen and El Generico are seeking to make a big impact, but they'll likely have to do battle with their heated rivals the Briscoe Brothers! Will the CHP ring be big enough to contain these two warring teams?
Look for competitors from the rising sun to join us, too. Beginning with none other than international superstar KENTA and his tag partner Naomichi Marufuji!
Imagine what could happen when they take on the team of the Young Bucks or the All Night Express!
In other big news, none other than Austin Aries has agreed to come in and seek championship gold! Will he have a partner or two? Or will he seek to go solo and vie for the other titles in CHP? Only time will tell.
Many others are waiting in the wings for their chance at glory in CHIKARA Honor Pro! Join us for New Dawn, May 25th 2012 at the Arena in Philadelphia, PA. A new era in wrestling excellence will begin!

CHP #1: New Dawn 05.25.2012 from The Arena, Philadelphia, PA
Archibald Peck vs. Pinkie Sanchez Archibald Peck defeated Pinkie Sanchez with a Baton Smash at 11:43 Match Rating: 3.25 Match Notes: Peck made his way to the ring with Veronica, marching to his own tune...
Sanchez came out with a sneer and hopped up on the apron, ready to go.
They battled back and forth early, but Sanchez came out on top and ended up hitting some hi impact offense including a springboard double stomp!
Peck would keep coming back and at one point the action spilled outside and as Peck distracted the ref, Veronica slapped Sanchez! Peck caught him with a baseball slide and brought him back in the ring...
But Sanchez came back in a big way and got a near fall.
Still Sanchez made two big mistakes and Peck wasn't afraid to stoop way low... The finish saw a repeat of something that happened earlier when Peck superplexed Sanchez from the top when Sanchez went hi risk.
Sanchez was hurting and Veronica slipped Peck the baton!!! He smashed Pinkie with it as Veronica distracted the ref. Peck then got an easy 1,2,3!
- Welcome to Chikara Honor Pro - Gavin Loudspeaker brings "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush and Director of Fun Wink Vavasseur to the ring. They welcome the hot crowd to the show and talk about the card to come and the title tournaments coming up. They will be round robin style and broken into two blocks with the winners of the blocks facing off to crown out first Grand Champion and Campeon de Parejas.
Wink also addresses the prior bout and warns Peck that such actions will not be tolerated.
Just as they're getting ready to leave the ring...
Here come the Kings of Wrestling! Claudio Castagnoli grabs a mic.
CASATAGNOLI: I'm not sure why you see the need for a tournament. We all know that the Kings of Wrestling will live up to their name and take these titles and reign supreme over CHP... (He begins to repeat himself in French but-)
QUACKENBUSH: Whoa, whoa, whoa gentlemen... Let's be fair, the only thing you're fit to rule is a Burger King... Maybe the DQ-
Claudio takes exception to being cutoff and Mike's comments. The Kings of Wrestling are in the ring! Wink ducks out. Quackenbush is surrounded!
Here comes Jigsaw to try and even the odds. The Kings start a beat down... Here comes Eddie Kingston!! There's a standoff as the officials try to get control.
Quackenbush grabs the mic and says they'll finish this in the ring tonite!
The Throwbacks vs. Los Ice Creams Dasher Hatfield defeated Ice Cream Jr. with an Underhand Pitch at 10:04 Match Rating: 3.25 Match Notes: This was a great hi-impact match that followed the lucha style to a tee. Surprisingly the Throwbacks got the best of Los Ice Creams at every turn.
Both Hatfield and Dunkerton looked great and hit most of their signature moves. There was lots of outside action and bodies were flying all over the place!
The finish saw Dunkerton and Hatfield work together to send El Hijo out of the ring and out of the equation. Ice Cream Jr. came in and was bet with a huge shoulder smash! Hatfield hit two Underhand Pitches in a row to score the pinfall!
Delirious vs. Tim Donst Tim Donst defeated Delirious with a SDT at 2:30 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: Tim Donst came out and kept saying "It's coming" over and over.
Delirious came to the ring and looked ready to go.
Then Donst destroyed him. After wailing on him and hitting a huge belly to belly over the top rope. Here comes Tursas and Ares! They roll Delirious in and Donst goes for a cover, but Delirious gets the shoulder up!
Donst hits the SDT and it's elementary!
Tursas and Ares are in... Tursas pulls out a chain and wraps it around Delirious' neck!
They drag him to his feet and then lead him out as the audience looks on in shock.
Donst cackles and repeats what he said earlier as he leaves.
Incoherence vs. The Osirian Portal This match ended in a draw (TIME LIMIT DRAW) at 30:00 Match Rating: 4.25 Match Notes: This bout exemplified the very best of tag team wrestling with an emphasis on the lucha style.
It was a back and forth affair with too many "tags" to count. The action was fast and furious with quite a few hi impact hi flying moments. Including more than a few out of the ring.
In fact the match began with Hallowicked and Amasis exchanging holds and Hallowicked hit a huge Rydeen Bomb! He followed it up with a suicide dive to the outside!
Ophidian and Frightmare hopped in and started doing battle, with Frightmare getting the advantage! A flying headscissors sent Ophidian flying from the ring and Amasis slid in from the floor and went after Frightmare.
The match continued in this style for a bit before slowing down as Ophidian went to work on Hallowicked and then Frightmare, nearly scoring a pinfall.
Eventually the action heated up again and spilled outside! All four men were brawling at ringside and the ref couldn't contain the action. Hallowicked was sent crashing into the steel guardrail and Frightmare got viciously double teamed! They rolled him in and Osirian Portal hit OSIRIAN SACRAMENT! 1... Wait... The bell rings! The ref was mid-count! The time-keeper informs him that the time limit has expired!
Ophidian is PISSED! Hallowicked is in to help Frightmare up, but Amsis dropkicks him for his troubles.
The ref nearly takes a shot from Ophidian, but he thinks better of it and leaves the ring with Amasis as Incoherence get to their feet.
It was a great match all the way, tho!
Tyler Black vs. Eddie Edwards Tyler Black defeated Eddie Edwards with a moonsault press at 6:05 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: This was all Tyler Black. From the opening bell to the closing, he punished Eddie Edwards with a huge high impact offense.
He hit him with a bunch of strikes early and then a turnbuckle power bomb and Edwards was on dream street! He followed it up with a pair of superkicks, but Edwards wouldn't stay down.
Black would hit the PHOENIX SPLASH and still it wouldn't put him away.
A sick God's Last Gift had him reeling and eventually a cobra clutch suplex was followed up with another brutal PHOENIX SPLASH for the convincing win.
After the match Jimmy Jacobs came to the ring and grabbed a mic.
JACOBS: Here you sit wondering what it could mean to see the two of us in this ring. This is a New Dawn, they say. Something special in the world of professional wrestling. Well WE are something special in this world! We will bring you the knowledge you wish you never had! We will expose the darkness that surrounds us all in this shiny mudbowl. Because we are not living in the golden age any more... This is the Age... of... the Fall!
The Colony vs. F.I.S.T. Johnny Gargano defeated Fire Ant with a HURTS DONUT at 15:36 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: Another exemplary match for New Dawn. THis was a great trios bout that went back and forth in and out of the ring.
All six men had moments to shine and for a while it looked as the the Colony would prevail, but the finish came fast and furious as Icarus made a huge comeback and hit two BLU-RAYs on Fire Ant! He made a tag to Taylor... OMEGA DRIVER! Still, Fire Ant wouldn't stay down!
Taylor tagged in Gargano who followed up their finishers with one of his own and got the big win after a fantastic trios bout!
Bryan Danielson vs. Nigel McGuinness Nigel McGuinness defeated Bryan Danielson with a JAWBREAKER LARIAT at 4:55 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: These two have engaged in some incredible bouts over the past ten years and they both received a great reaction from the crowd.
They jockeyed for position early and it had all the earmarks of another classic.
Danielson sent McGuinness in to the ropes and he came off with a REBOUND LARIAT! 1...2.- no, shoulder's up.
But Nigel pressed his advantage and took it to him BIG time! He punished the former world champ and ended up hitting a Tower of London and then later three stiff corner to corner forearm strikes!
Danielson could barely stand... JAWBREAKER LARIAT! 1...2.. NO! Nigel is HOT! Danielson is up on jelly-legs... Another JAWBREAKER LARIAT! 1...2...3!
McGuinness scores a huge pinfall win in dominating fashion. The crowd is shocked and Danielson can barely stand. Nigel gives him a few kicks and sneers as the ref raises his hand...
- Main Event - Chris Hero, Claudio Castagnoli, and Arik Cannon vs. Quackensaw and Eddie Kingston Eddie Kingston defeated Chris Hero with a SLIDING D at 29:58 Match Rating: 4.50 Match Notes: Stemming from earlier this very evening, this bout was sure to be intense.
Quackenbush and Hero started off and the Lightning One got the early advantage after an unorthodox arm drag.
He slapped on a Boston crab, but Hero was close enough to tag in Castagnoli! The Swiss Sensation came in and hit a big gutwrench German suplex! He hit a second one for good measure and Quackenbush had the wherewithal to roll out & Jigsaw hopped in and hit a brainbuster!!! He makes the cover: 1...2. NO! Quackendriver! Tag in to Quackenbush... Double clothesline! QUACKENDRIVER II! 1...2... NO!!!
Kingston is tagged in, but Castagnoli somehow comes back! Cannon is tagged in and the action was hot and back and forth much for the rest of the way! It continued in this style with both teams going on stretches of offense only to be put on the defensive by a quick tag or a roll out.
Speaking of which the action spilled out multiple times and there were lots of hi-spots, but when it was in the ring, it was all about the wrestling and all 6 men looked great. It was truly a showcase of some of the best talents in CHP.
This match had just as much in common with a lucha style bout as it did with the great All Japan 6-man tags of the early 90s. Chris Hero, Arik Cannon, and Eddie Kingston all hit some huge bombs and dropped some big suplexes in the ring.
The finish saw Hero and Kingston battling it out inside. Kingston hit a huge lariat rebounding off the ropes and the pumped up crowd could sense it... SLIDING D! 1...2...3!
What a great match to end the New Dawn! The fans are on their feet as the Kings of Wrestling argue over their loss down the aisle and the victors celebrate in the ring. We're told we were literally 2 seconds away from the time limit expiring when the pinfall came... Something that's likely not to go down well with Claudio Castagnoli...
Overall Card Rating: 2.86

CHP #2: Round 1 (It All Begins Here) 06.08.2012 from The NYWC Sportatorium, Long Island, NY
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block A) - Quackensaw vs. Young Bucks Jigsaw defeated Nick Jackson with a JIG 'N' TONIC at 2:44 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: Quckensaw and the Young Bucks kick off the night and the Tag Team Grand Prix tournament!
And it was all Quackensaw. To be fair, they completely isolated Nick Jackson and he never got a chance at a tag. To be fair again, he also kicked out of a QUACKENDRIVER III!
Jigsaw came in and continued the onslaught and eventually hit a big JIG 'N' TONIC for the win.
Surprisingly short. Anything can happen in CHP, tho and the Young Bucks are hardly out of the tournament, tho Quackensaw makes a big statement in this match.
- 12 Large: Summit (Block A) - Icarus vs. Ophidian Icarus defeated Ophidian with a BLU-RAY at 24:16 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: This was an amazing back and forth contest that very nearly went the time limit!
They threw everything they had at one another and each was close to victory a number of times. They avoided their finishers and kept kicking out of pin attempts.
The match had a bit of everything, hi-flying, hi-impact, and some brawling out of the ring!
The finishing stretch saw Ophidian hit a HUGE piledriver off the ropes, but the comeback was short-lived. He'd just taken too much punishment and Icarus came back with not one, not two, but three Emerald Flosions! He's targeting the neck big time... Tombstone! WINGS OF ICARUS!
Ophidian makes it to the ropes! Icarus is pissed! BLU-RAY!!!! Ophidian is hurting and Icarus gets the 1,2,3!
- 12 Large: Summit (Block B) - Jimmy Jacobs vs. Eddie Kingston Eddie Kingston defeated Jimmy Jacobs with a BACKFIST TO THE FUTURE at 3:12 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: Eddie Kingston made a big statement at New Dawn by leading his team to victory with the SLIDING D on Chris Hero.
Jimmy Jacobs made news as well by entering the ring after Tyler Black's victory and announced that the Age of the Fall is here!
Jacobs tried to bring it early, but he never got Kingston off his feet. They chain-wrestled and neither man could get the advantage.
Jacobs finally strung together a little offense, but Kingston came back in a big way! A barrage of blows after a Thesz press had Jacobs reeling and Kingston hit the BACKFIST TO THE FUTURE to score the win!
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block A) - Briscoe Brothers vs. All Night Express Mark Briscoe defeated Kenny King with a CUT-THROAT DRIVER at 23:50 Match Rating: 3.75 Match Notes: These two teams are no strangers. And the Briscoes came up short the last time they faced on another. But this is a New Dawn. A fresh start.
The Briscoes seem to be the favorites of the crowd and the critics...
The match was a fantastic tag team bout with lots of hi-impact offense AND they kept it in the ring.
All four men shone brightly and it was anybody's match for a while. Titus saved King after a brutal DOOMSDAY DEVICE which had the fans roaring with approval.
Eventually the finish came when Mark hit King with the CUT-THROAT DRIVER and Titus couldn't make the save!
Another great match!
- 12 Large: Summit (Block B) - Fire Ant vs. Ultramantis Black Ultramantis Black defeated Fire Ant with a PRAYING MANTIS BOMB at 10:58 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: Ultramantis Black came out swinging! He unloaded a hi-impact, impressive offense on Fire Ant and nearly scored a pinfall after building up to a PRAYING MANTIS BOMB!
Fire Ant would dig deep and come back after absorbing all that punishment. It settled into a nice back and forth pace until the action spilled outside... Fire Ant hit a springboard moonsault DDT that nearly resulted in a countout!
Mantis rolled in and Ant brought it big time, but he wasn't able to put him away and they went back and forth again.
Eventually, it spilled outside again and this time Mantis was able to bend the rules and slam Fire Ant through a table with Cosmic Doom!!!! The ref doesn't know what to do. UltraMantis rolls him in. PRAYING MANTIS BOMB! 1,2,3!
Mantis calls the Batiri out and they all go to work on Fire Ant!
Here come the rest of the colony! They get Fire Ant to safety as the Dark Army stands triumphant in the ring...
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block A) - Age of the Fall vs. The Batiri This match ended in a draw (TIME LIMIT EXPIRED) at 30:00 Match Rating: 4.50 Match Notes: Obariyon and Tyler Black started the match off and the Batiri wasted no time in making a big statement!
The double-team led to a finisher from Kodama, but Black got the shoulder up.
Black was reeling, but he'd come back and hit a turnbuckle powerbomb to take over. Still, the Batiri kept using excellent tag work to bring it to the Age of the Fall.
The bout would go back and forth with multiple pin attempts. Black used some flash and hi-impact as did the Batiri, but they weren't above brawling with Necro Butcher either.
The action continued fast and furious, spilling out of the ring on occasion, lots of tags and lots double-team, especially from the Batiri. Multiple near-falls and pin saves combined with the aforementioned action quickly turned this bout into a tag classic!
The finish came in thrilling fashion when Tyler Black was tossed from the ring by Obariyon. Butcher and Kodama were already outside and Obariyon mounted the turnbuckle and took out all of them with a suicidal plancha!! The ref got to a 15 count when the bell started to ring... The time limit has expired! It's a draw! All four men are still down outside the ring... The crowd gives them a standing ovation, but the Black and Butcher are up and begin pounding on their opponents!
Officials stream from the back and here comes Mantis and Jimmy Jacobs! All six men have to be held back...
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block B) - F.I.S.T. vs. Kings of Wrestling Chris Hero defeated Chuck Taylor with a running lariat at 13:08 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: This was an interesting matchup and both teams could be considered even going in, tho the Kings of Wrestling may have a slight advantage.
Taylor and Hero started the action and it was fast and furious! They battled back and forth with lots of tags and double teams.
Both teams looked really good and it was anybody's match. Chris Hero took it FIST and scored a couple of near falls on each opponent. But Taylor and Gargano used some good tag work to make a comeback.
The finish saw Hero taken out outside the ring and Taylor and Gargano took it to Cannon. They seemed to have the match wrapped up, but Cannon left the ring, Taylor pursued, and Gargano turned around to be met with a HUGE lariat from Hero! Cover... 1,2,3! KoW take the win!
- 12 Large: Summit (Block A) - Claudio Castagnoli vs. Hallowicked Claudio Castagnoli defeated Hallowicked with a RICOLA BOMB at 7:16 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: It was all Catagnoli in this match. He evaded a dropkick from Hallowicked and then pressed his advantage.
He mixed strikes with power moves to wear him down and at one point hit a brutal diving European uppercut from the ring apron to the floor!
Back inside both men went down after Hallowicked bounced off the turnbuckle with a twisting lariat, but Castagnoli countered with one of his own!
Claudio was up first and eventually hit a big RICOLA BOMB for the 1,2,3.
Afterwards he motioned to his waist for the belt and shouted that the Kings of Wrestling were taking CHP over!
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block B) - The Colony vs. The Osirian Portal Green Ant defeated Amasis with a CLOVERLEAF at :30 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: This one was a shocker! Amasis went for Green Ant with a running knee, but he evaded and Amasis hit the ropes. Green Ant hit a sick looking dropkick to the knee! CLOVERLEAF! Ophidian doesn't even have a chance as Amasis taps immediately!
Amasis' knee may be destroyed! Ophidian checks his partner out as the Colony celebrates a shockingly quick win!
- 12 Large: Summit (Block B) - Brodie Lee vs. Jigsaw Brodie Lee defeated Jigsaw with a BIG BOOT at 2:00 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: Jigsaw looked aggressive and went for a suplex right away, but Brodie Lee reversed it and strung together a brutal sequence of moves including a package piledriver that led to a BIG BOOT for an easy win!
He just steamrollered him with hit power advantage!
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block B) - KENTA and Naomichi Marufuji vs. American Wolves KENTA defeated Eddie Edwards with a Tiger Driver at 24:08 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: This was sure to be a fan-favorite matchup. The two stars of the Orient against the reunited American Wolves.
The Wolves went after KENTA early and tried to end the bout right out of the gate.
The NOAH talents came back big, though and before long the fans were stunned by the quality of match they were getting. These four went full bore for over 20 minutes and threw everything they had at one another. Strikes and hi-impact moves were the name of the game. Coupled with lots of tag work, double team action, and nearfalls this bout had fans on their feet especially in the closing stretch.
The finish saw Edwards make a comeback and clothesline both KENTA & Marufuji. He mounted the top, but Marufuji clocked him with a huge Flash Kick! Another tag brought KENTA back in and they hit the Avalanche Busaiku Knee Kick!! Edwards was almost out cold and went KENTA connected with the Tiger Driver it was all elementary.
Great match.
- 12 Large: Summit (Block A) - Mike Quackenbush vs. Gran Akuma Mike Quackenbush defeated Gran Akuma with a DQ at 1:35 Match Rating: 0.00 Match Notes: Quckenbush came out swinging and hit an unorthodox arm drag and followed it up with a one-legged crab!
Akuma slid out after a Black Tornado Slam and when Quackenbush followed he payed the price... Akuma hit him with a vicious lariat and then against the refs orders hit a falcon arrow through the timekeepers table! The ref calls for the bell and this one is over quick! Does Akuma even care about the tournament?!?
He tries to continue his attack after the match! But here comes Jigsaw and Akuma heads for the hills as the show comes to a close and Jigsaw attends to his fallen partner.
Overall Card Rating: 2.21

CHP #3: The Road Travels Ever On 06.22.2112 from Highline Ballroom, Manhattan, NY
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block A) - All Night Express vs. Age of the Fall Tyler Black defeated Rhett Titus with a cobra clutch suplex at 21:06 Match Rating: 3.25 Match Notes: This was a fantastic opening bout!
Tyler Black and Kenny King started out in the ring and went move for move. It was hi-impact and there were some vicious strikes exchanged between the two.
The action continued in this manner until Black hit a huge cobra clutch suplex on Titus! He followed it up with God's Last Gift and a fireman's carry gutbuster, before making a tag to Butcher! Black held Titus while Butcher hit a sick Asiatic Spike! Titus was in big trouble!
But the wildman tossed Titus out and that brought King back in and he took it to Butcher big time! Scoring a near fall after a spinebuster. Later he hit CORONATION, but it wasn't over! They spilled outside and Black and Titus went back and forth in the ring.
It was great tag team action leading into a hot finish! Tyler Black came back after sustaining a beating from Titus and hit a huge turnbuckle power bomb! He picked up Titus and sealed the deal with a dragon suplex!
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block B) - Kings of Wrestling vs. The Osirian Portal Amasis defeated Arik Cannon with a DQ at 8:14 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: This was a wild match from the start. There was quite a bit of brawling from the Kings, but Amsis and Ophidian were game.
Action spilled out early after a dance off! They brawled and tested the ref's patience, but it came back in and Ophidian took it to Chris Hero big time! He hit all of his signature moves and applied a brutal death grip.
Hero wouldn't stay down, though and made a tag to Cannon. Cannon, then took the beating from both Ophidian and Amasis. Frustrations mounted and Cannon tried to take the easy way out when a brawl erupted outside, but the ref DQd him for choking Amasis with an electrical cord!
- 12 Large: Summit (Block B) - Fire Ant vs. Jigsaw Fire Ant defeated Jigsaw with a BEACH BREAK at 9:54 Match Rating: 2.75 Match Notes: They went back and forth at the bell, but a pair of burning hammers gave Fire Ant the distinct advantage and it's a testament to Jigsaw toughness that the bout wasn't over after that.
He even came back and scored a nearfall after a superkick! The action went back and forth and spilled outside for a spell, but once back in Fire Ant came to life big time! He scored a near fall with a cradle off the ropes and then hit three BEACHBREAKs to finally put Jigsaw away!
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block A) - Young Bucks vs. Briscoe Brothers Nick Jackson defeated Mark Briscoe with a catching stunner at 22:01 Match Rating: 4.25 Match Notes: Once again, the tag division shines! This was a great match. All four men went back and forth in and out of the ring. It had it all. The Young Bucks were on the receiving end for most of the match, but they rallied for some offense here and there.
In fact, early in the match they hit MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK after Nick Jackson clotheslined both Briscoes in response to an attempted double team.
The match continued in a hi-impact style with multiple pin attempts as these two teams of brothers gave as good as they got.
The finish came around the 22 minute mark when Mark Briscoe damned near lariated Nick Jackson's head off. He mounted the top turnbuckle, but Jackson was up... Dazed... Briscoe came off and out of no where Nick Jackson catches him with a sick looking stunner! Cover! 1,2,3!!! The Young Bucks pick up a big win!
- 12 Large: Summit (Block B) - Brodie Lee vs. Eddie Kingston Eddie Kingston defeated Brodie Lee with a SLIDING D at 3:09 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: Brodie Lee tried to get something started early, but Kingston kicked him in the face and then worked him over with a few big moves including a cross body from the top and a pair of back-drop drivers led to a SLIDING D for the win!
- 12 Large: Summit (Block A) - Icarus vs. Hallowicked Icarus defeated Hallowicked with a BLU-RAY at 6:45 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: Icarus just tore Hallowicked apart. He used a bunch of hi-impact moves and a few submission holds that took enough out of Hallowicked to roll to a relatively easy win with BLU-RAY.
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block B) - F.I.S.T. vs. American Wolves This match ended in a draw (TIME LIMIT EXPIRED) at 30:00 Match Rating: 4.25 Match Notes: This was a tag classic that went back and forth in and out of the ring. Words almost don't do this one justice. Taylor and Edwards began the match in the ring and FIST was dominant for a while, but the Wolves would come raring back and punish their opponents for a while.
It was great action in and out of the ring and the pace rarely let up. There were 10 pin attempts in the match with Edwards and Gargano absoribing inhuman amounts of punishment. In face, in a first for CHP, both men were busted open after the action spilled outside!
The ref did his best, but the action was just too much and all four men took some liberities.
The finish came in wild fashion as Davey Richards hit the DR DRIVER, but Taylor kicked out! In frustration Richards through him out and hit a dive! As Gargano and Edwards locked up, bloodied and battered, the bell rang, marking the expiration of the time limit.
They kept fighting after the bell and officials had to pull them apart!
- 12 Large: Summit (Block A) - Mike Quackenbush vs. Ophidian Mike Quackenbush defeated Ophidian with a DQ at 3:35 Match Rating: 1.00 Match Notes: Things didn't look good for the founder early on. Ophidian brought it big time, but the action spilled out of the ring and Quackenbush quickly rallied back. He hit a QUACKENDRIVER, but Ophidian kicked out!
The founder went up top, but Ophidian ran up and suplexed him off the top! Both men are down!
Jig 'N' Tonic outta nowhere! Ophidian rolls out. Quackenbush follows... Ophidian hits him with a chair! The ref calls for the DQ and folks are kind of shocked! Quackenbush gets to his feet a bit shaky... He's got a tag match later!
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block B) - KENTA and Naomichi Marufuji vs. The Colony This match ended in a draw (TIME LIMIT EXPIRED) at 30:00 Match Rating: 4.50 Match Notes: KENTA and Green Ant started this barn burner of a match off and it was one hell of a bout from the get go that all four men had a chance to shine in and there was some amazing tag work, to boot!
Just about every move and ever combination of holds imagined was used as these two teams tried to one another away, but to seemingly no avail.
There were high spots and mat wrestling and plenty of bone crunching strikes.
The finish saw Marufuji hit a spectacular flying dragonrana that sent Soldier Ant out of the ring and then he followed it up with a huge twisting senton splash to the outside!
KENTA and Green Ant entered the ring, but the bell rang... It was a time-limit draw!
The crowd gave all four men a standing ovation and they shook hands somewhat begrudgingly...
- 12 Large: Summit (Block A) - Claudio Castagnoli vs. Gran Akuma Claudio Castagnoli defeated Gran Akuma with a RICOLA BOMB at 27:50 Match Rating: 4.25 Match Notes: This was a brilliant match. They went back and forth and showcased all of their considerable talents in a bout that really could've gone either way!
Castagnoli was all arrogance on his way to the ring and accompanied by Hero and Cannon, tho the ref sent them to the back immediately!
They jockeyed for position early and then it was all Claudio! He brutalized Akuma, but eventually Akuma came back and they went back and forth in spectacular fashion, reversing holds and exchanging strikes.
At one point Akuma hit the YOSHI TONIC twice in a row! Somehow, Castagnoli was still in the match and came back to nearly put Akuma away after a gutwrench German suplex.
The action spilled outside and nearly resulted in a double countout and a double DQ, but Akuma got the upper hand after dropping Castagnoli across the guardrail chest first!
He nearly scored the win as we got into the last five minutes of the time limit, but then Castagnoli hit Swiss Death out of no where!!!
Akuma tried to come back, but Castagnoli picked him apart and with a little over two minutes left in the bout, Claudio hit the RICOLA BOMB for a very hard-fought win!
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block A) - Quackensaw vs. The Batiri Obariyon defeated Mike Quackenbush with a FLYING DDT at 17:58 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: The action was fast and furious in this one and the Batiri came to play! They dominated the early going of the match and used double team moves to lay a major beating on Jigsaw. Quackenbush was able to break up a couple of dire pinning situations.
Jigsaw was effectively taken out of the match after being beaten to a pulp, but a hot tag to Quackenbush saw the match shift in Quackensaw's favor!
The founder came at Obariyon and Kodama with everything he had and came very close to putting Obariyon away more than once, but all the Quackendriver variations in the world didn't seem to be enough.
Obariyon came back big and hit a FLYING DDT out of no where for the big win!
Kodama and Obariyon continued to beat down the founder as Kobald came out and shouted instructions at his demons!
Condor Security and officials had to enter the ring to return things to order. Quackenbush was able to get to his feet, but he had to help his tag partner to the back as the Batiri had taken the match and left their mark.
- 12 Large Summit (Block B) - Ultramantis Black vs. Jimmy Jacobs Jimmy Jacobs defeated Ultramantis Black with THE END OF TIME at 10:31 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: This one was wild from the get go. Both men were hi-impact, trying to put the other away early, but it settled in to quite the back and forth affair for the majority of the bout.
Jacobs was quite resilient and Ultramantis did everything he could to avoid letting him on offense, but Jacobs would not be denied.
Towards the end the action spilled outside and Jacobs smashed Ultramantis into the ring post! Back in he hit a diving senton and followed it with THE END OF TIME for the big win!
Afterwards he called out Black and Butcher as he tried to unmask Ultramantis! He pulled out the railroad spike! Officials poured out of the back as Jacobs attempted to spike and tear the mask off, but Ultramantis was able to escape the ring, barely!
JACOBS: Ultramantis Black! You think you can cloak yourself and hide from your sins! You think you can mask yourself from the failures of your past? I have seen the darkness beneath your hood and what you've show us only scratches the surface! The blood that flows through your veins is as black as my fingernails... And I know that The Age of the Fall could benefit from that blackness! But only if you're willing show me the face behind the mask, Ultramantis! You share with me the secrets of your blackened soul and I will share with you the glory of the Age of the Fall!
Overall Card Rating: 2.75

CHP #4: The CHIKARA Imperative 07.05.2112 from ACE Arena, Union City, NJ
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block A) - Quackensaw vs. Briscoe Brothers Jay Briscoe defeated Mike Quackenbush with a DOOMSDAY DEVICE at 7:31 Match Rating: 2.75 Match Notes: This match was a furious contest that saw the Briscoes give no quarter!
They brought it big time and even tho Quackensaw weren't pushovers, they couldn't get the fire lit long enough to really challenge the brothers.
Strong double-team work punished Quackenbush towards the end and the founder was in a bad way as they hit the DOOMSDAY DEVICE! Mark pushed Jigsaw off the apron and Jay covered Quackenbush for the win.
The Briscoes celebrated on their way to the back as one had to wonder how Mike Quackenbush would perform later in the night in his 12 Large tournament bout.
- 12 Large: Summit (Block A) - Hallowicked vs. Gran Akuma Gran Akuma defeated Hallowicked with a YOSHI TONIC at 14:51 Match Rating: 3.75 Match Notes: These two met in spectacular fashion. They started off slow, but built to a furious back and forth pace! The ref had a hard time containing the action and at one point took a bump Akuma may have "accidentally" pulled him in front of a diving axe handle from Hallowicked.
Akuma used this to his advantage and picked Hallowicked apart with a high impact offense and some crazy spots out of the ring, including a drop toe hold on a chair!
The ref missed it all and it looked like Akuma would have it in the bag, but Hallowicked came back!
It was short lived, tho, and Akuma was able to use the weakened state to his advantage and put him away with the YOSHI TONIC!
- 12 Large: Summit (Block B) - Jigsaw vs. Jimmy Jacobs Jimmy Jacobs defeated Jigsaw with a diving senton at 8:45 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: Jimmy Jacobs seems to have only one goal and that is to take The Age of the Fall to the top while also exposing and then reveling in the corruption and darkness of his and his opponents lives.
Jigsaw was still hurting from his earlier match, but like the true competitor he is, he wasn't going to let it stop him in this match.
Jacobs came on strong early and nearly put him away with the THE END TIME in the opening moments, but Jigsaw wouldn't go out like that.
Jacobs maintained control for a good portion of the match, but Jigsaw saw some flurries of activity here and there.
At one point the action spilled outside and Jigsaw seemed to have control, but Jacobs came back big and whipped Jigsaw into the post! He rolled him back in and Jigsaw caught a kick for the reversal, but then Jacobs got a spear out of no where and followed it with a diving senton to finally put Jigsaw away.
- 12 Large Summit (Block B) - Brodie Lee vs. Fire Ant Fire Ant defeated Brodie Lee with a Burning Hammer at 2:06 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: This was an interesting bout, to say the least. Fire Ant and Brodie Lee went hold for hold for hold with reversal upon reversal, but Fire Ant got the duke with a beautiful moonsault off the ropes and never looked back.
A few moments later he hit a sick looking burning hammer for a solid 1, 2, 3!
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block A) - All Night Express vs. The Batiri Kenny King defeated Obariyon with a pinning combo at 15:45 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: This one was fast and furious and almost all the Batiri's show. They dismantled Rhett Titus in particular and looked like they'd walk away with this one easily, but a hot tag to Kenny King changed the complexion of the bout in a hurry.
King battle back and forth with both Kodama and Obariyon. He effectively cut the ring off for them and they weren't able to utilize the double team that tore King's partner apart in the early going.
King came so close, but the Batiri battle back strong and looked to have it in the bag...
King was shot into the ropes and Obariyon went for s sunset flip, but King reversed it into a pinning combo of his own and stole a quick 1, 2, 3 for a big win!
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block B) - F.I.S.T. vs. The Osirian Portal Chuck Taylor defeated Amasis with a jumping big boot at 19:51 Match Rating: 3.75 Match Notes: This was a great back and forth match and a wonderful example of the CHIKARA rule-set for tag bouts.
There was even a DANCE OFF! It was anyone's match, really, and all four men had a chance to shine as well as take a beating.
The finish came in a crazy fashion when Taylor and Ophidian had thrown the kitchen sink at one another. Ophidian went for a cover, but Gargano broke it up and Taylor and Ophidian both rolled out and fought outside while Amasis came in and he and Gargano went toe to toe, but Taylor had dropped Ophidian on the guardrail and was tagged in for an assisted ace crusher! Amasis was in big trouble and soon enough a jumping big boot put Amasis down!
- 12 Large: Summit (Block A) - Icarus vs. Mike Quackenbush Mike Quackenbush defeated Icarus with a Quackendriver at 5:07 Match Rating: 2.75 Match Notes: What a story here! Quackenbush comes to the ring pretty banged up after his tag match from earlier in the night and fans are wondering if he can get it done. Icarus, meanwhile, is undefeated in the 12 Large tourney so far.
Icarus goes on the attack immediately, but Quackenbush is able to shake it off and reverse and Irish whip into the turnbuckle!
Mike takes charge big time and uses the Chikara Special to weaken Icarus and then follows it up with a deluge of his signature moves leading up to a finisher, but Icarus is somehow able to get the shoulder up!
Quackenbush, tho, will not be denied! He hits a sick looking Quackendriver and makes a cover for a huge 1, 2, 3! The crowd eats it up!
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block B) - The Colony vs. American Wolves Soldier Ant defeated Eddie Edwards with a Scorpion Death Lock at 13:15 Match Rating: 2.75 Match Notes: Nothing remarkable, unless you count the Colony dominating the American Wolves as something of an aberration!
Green Ant and Soldier Ant were basically on top from the get go and even tho the Wolves had a couple of flurries of offense it was never enough to put the Colony against the ropes for too long.
The finish saw Soldier Ant hit a beautiful senton out of the ring on Edwards and then roll him in while Green Ant dropkicked Richards off the apron and then Soldier locked on a Scorpion Death Lock that Edwards, in his weakened state, just couldn't fight off and had no choice but to tap when his partner couldn't make the save!
- 12 Large Summit (Block B) - Eddie Kingston vs. Ultramantis Black Ultramantis Black defeated Eddie Kingston with a PRAYING MANTIS BOMB at 2:42 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: This turned out to be absolutely shocking!
Kingston and Mantis jockeyed early, but a double knee backbreaker from no where was proof positive that Ultramantis wanted to try and end things early.
Kingston tried to get something started, but Ultramantis bounced back early and easily and hit a PRAYING MANTIS BOMB out of the blue to score a shocking win!
Kingston was livid and Ultramantis bailed to avoid any payback!
Kingston had been undefeated in the tourney and with this win Ultramantis is back in a position to take the thing away!
As Ultramantis approaches the curtain, Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black attack him! Jacobs brandishes the spike as Black holds a defenseless Ultramantis up, but officials pour out and even Kingston comes to Ultramantis' aid, if only for a moment.
The Age of the Fall is run off, but how long will they be kept from inflicting serious harm to one of their chosen enemies?
- 12 Large: Summit (Block A) - Claudio Castagnoli vs. Ophidian Claudio Castagnoli defeated Ophidian with a RICOLA BOMB at 21:36 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: The story here was the resiliency of Ophidian! Castagnoli gave him the beating of his career but could not put him away in spite of numerous attempts.
Ophidian wasn't able to mount much offense, but he did get a few shots in and even had some explosive offense due to his agility and a nearfall, but Claudio would not be denied.
He stretched and pounded Ophidian into oblivion and in spite of his difficulties in putting him away still looked like the dominant beast that he is when he scored the win after a brawl on the outside and then followed an inverted Chikara special with the RICOLA BOMB for the win!
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block A) - Young Bucks vs. Age of the Fall Nick Jackson defeated Tyler Black with a MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK at 12:44 Match Rating: 3.25 Match Notes: This one was wild! Age of the Fall took to the Young Bucks early on, but Matt and Nick bounced back a few times.
Butcher was his usual wildman self and Black brought the action in the ring with a speed and fury uniquely his own.
Towards the end Nick and Butcher went outside and the action got incredibly brutal! Butcher seemed to have Nick on the ropes after powerbombing him into the guardrail!!! Somehow Jackson was able to use a referee distraction to his advantage and smack Butcher with a chair!
Back inside he made a desperate tag to Matt and they hit MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK, but Black broke up the fall... Matt hammered Butcher, tho and they scored big with another MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK and Matt cut off Black as Nick got the 1,2,3!!!
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block B) - Kings of Wrestling vs. and KENTA, Naomichi Marufuji KENTA defeated Chris Hero with a BUSAIKU KNEE KICK at 4:51 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: This was an interesting matchup and the finish was completely unexpected.
After some early jockeying from Cannon and Marufuji, it seemed the Kings were ready to take the advantage, but KENTA had other ideas and took the action to Hero big time!
The BUSAIKU KNEE KICK came out of no where and Cannon wasn't able to make the save as the ref counted the 1, 2, 3!
KENTA & Marufuji pick up a much needed win while the KoW have suffered their second defeat in a row!
Overall Card Rating: 2.76

CHP #5: Maximum Carnage 07.19.2112 from Du Burns Arena, Baltimore, MD
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block B) - The Osirian Portal vs. American Wolves This match ended in a draw (TIME LIMIT DRAW) at 30:00 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: This was an incredible way to start the night! All four men put on a clinic and it looked like it could've gone either way.
Richards and Edwards put on a clinic in the ring, but Ophidian and Amasis gave as good as they got and there were multiple pinfall attempts and momentum changes.
When it went outside it got pretty spectacular and all four men flew out of the ring with some suicidal tendencies!
Edwards took a beating beyond belief towards the end and it looked like Osirian Portal was going to get the win, but a desperation tag to Richards payed off big time...
However the clock was ticking and Richards sent Amasis outside and Edwards went to take a shot, but here comes Ophidian! Keep an eye on Richards... Suicide plancha from the top to the outside and all four men are DOWN!
The bell rings and the ref checks with the time-keeper and sure enough, we've got a time limit draw.
Trainers are checking on all four guys and they get a standing ovation as they get to their feet and even shake hands before exiting.
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block A) - Quackensaw vs. Age of the Fall Mike Quackenbush defeated Jimmy Jacobs with a QUACKENDRIVER III at 12:30 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: This was a hi-impact bout that saw lots of action in and out of the ring and plenty of great displays of tag team wrestling.
Jacobs and Jigsaw started the action off and we were off to the races.
There were plenty of close calls for both teams and all four men had a chance to shine. Quackenbush looked really good in particular and worked over a weakened Jimmy Jacobs to grab the win with a QUACKENDRIVER III.
Quackensaw picks up a much needed win, while Age of the Fall slips down and could even be out of the running with their only match left being against the Briscoes.
- 12 Large Summit (Block B) - Brodie Lee vs. Ultramantis Black Brodie Lee defeated Ultramantis Black with a package piledriver at 23:48 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: This was a surprising bout beyond the finish. They worked their butts off and wowed the crowd with a wonderful very different kind of story.
Brodie destroyed Black early on and it looked like he was going to put him away with an easy win in under 10 minutes, but then Ultramantis came back and he took it to Brodie in spite of having received such a heavy beatdown.
Ultramantis couldn't get the job done, tho and the match went on in a back and forth fashion with multiple nearfalls and the crowd was on the edge of their seats or on their feet for last 5 minutes.
The action even including some brawling outside and that's where it swung into Lee's favor after he slammed Ultramantis on the timekeeper table and then rolled him in... Brodie Bomb! Package piledriver! 1, 2, 3!
These two get a strong ovation from the crowd, but there is no handshake and Brodie Lee picks up a huge win.
And with this win, Brodie Lee could have a shot at taking Block A depending on what happens the rest of the night and Ultramantis is far from out of this thing. Block A is definitely the most hard-fought bracket in the tourney.
- 12 Large Summit (Block A) - Icarus vs. Gran Akuma Gran Akuma defeated Icarus with a Falcon Arrow at 1:29 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: The bell rang and Akuma tore into Icarus!
He hit a Tombstone facebuster and then two JIG AND TONICs, but Icarus got the shoulder up. A Falcon Arrow sealed the deal, tho and Gran Akuma gets a shockingly easy win.
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block A) - Briscoe Brothers vs. The Batiri Obariyon defeated Jay Briscoe with a FLYING DDT at 18:09 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: This was an exciting affair that went pretty much full steam the whole way!
All four men had their moments and both teams didn't hesitate to use the double team to it's fullest effect.
There were multiple nearfalls from the get go and the action spilled out of the ring more than a few times resulting in a fair number of high spots and moments of brawling.
Obariyon and Mark Briscoe, in particular looked really good and they also took quite a bit of a beating respectively.
The finish came on the heels of some wild brawling out of the ring. Jay Briscoe had the advantage, but Obariyon utilized the lucha rules to enter and go on the attack. Jay was ready for him tho and they engaged in some amazing chain wrestling that came to an end when Obariyon was whipped into the turnbuckle but came out with a beautiful springboard backcracker!
He followed it with the FLYING DDT and Kodama was able to hold off Mark as the ref counted the 1, 2, 3!
Things are tight in the Tag Team Block A bracket and this result goes on to make it even tighter!
- 12 Large Summit (Block B) - Eddie Kingston vs. Jigsaw Jigsaw defeated Eddie Kingston with a JIG AND TONIC at 1:07 Match Rating: 0.00 Match Notes: A miscue by Kingston cost him the match, plain and simple.
Jigsaw rolled out early after a huge lariat and was in a bad way, but Kingston went for a suicide dive... Jigsaw moved and Kingston crashed into the guardrail in horrific fashion!
His bell was ringing big time, but he still had enough in the tank to kick out of one JIG AND TONIC... But not a second in a row and Jigsaw gets the biggest win of the tournament so far!
Kingston is now 2-2 with two losses in a row and Jigsaw picks up his first win!
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block A) - All Night Express vs. Young Bucks Nick Jackson defeated Kenny King with a cobra clutch suplex at 9:36 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: This was a solid fast paced back and forth tag team contest. Matt Jackson and Kenny King started the action off and soon Matt was in trouble, but some well placed tag work got the Bucks back on top.
It was short lived as the match become hotly contested, back and forth, with multiple tags and teamwork.
The action spilled outside a few times and their were some great highspots and chain wrestling.
The finish came suddenly after Titus and Matt spilled outside and Nick and Kenny went at it. King whipped Nick into the turnbuckle, but Nick raised a knee and came out with a cobra clutch into a devastating suplex! He made a quick cover and their partners were still outside and the Bucks got the 1, 2, 3!
This match effectively eliminates All Night Express from the bracket, while it thrusts the Young Bucks to the top all by themselves. The Batiri are the only ones close right now. Could the Bucks be in the championship match?
- 12 Large Summit (Block B) - Fire Ant vs. Jimmy Jacobs Jimmy Jacobs defeated Fire Ant with THE END TIME at 4:36 Match Rating: 2.50 Match Notes: The exchanged holds early, but the Fire Ant came on strong in a rush and hit BEACH BREAK early! He nearly put Jacobs away, but he kicked out.
Fire Ant kept the pressure on, but Jacobs bounced back after Fire Ant missed a flying elbow drop!
He hit him with a spear that took Fire Ant out of the ring and Jacobs followed it up with a suicide dive that had Fire Ant hurting!
It led to THE END TIME and that was that! Fire Ant was out and Jacobs stared at him as he headed for the back.
Jacobs is now 3-1 in Block B and has sole ownership of the top spot! This is a very interesting situation. If he can defeat Brodie Lee on the next card, he'll take Block B and move on to the Grand Championship match!
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block B) - F.I.S.T. vs. and KENTA, Naomichi Marufuji Naomichi Marufuji defeated Johnny Gargano with a TOP ROPE SHIRANUI at 6:40 Match Rating: 2.75 Match Notes: This one was crazy from the get go and Johnny Gargano was ready for anything. He took it to both Marufuji and KENTA, but perhaps he tried too much on his own.
Marufuji came back in at one point and was able to get the upper hand after some great chain wrestling. he built up a healthy head of steam and after a couple of nearfalls and some out of the ring action, he hit a TOP ROPE SHIRANUI! KENTA cut off Taylor and Marufuji got the 1, 2, 3!
With this win, KENTA and Marufuji ascend to the top of Block B, but the Colony could easily tie it up. Those two teams have met already in a fantastic match that ended in a draw!
- 12 Large Summit (Block A) - Ophidian vs. Hallowicked Hallowicked defeated Ophidian with a GO 2 SLEEPY HOLLOW at 3:26 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: There was a short feeling out period to begin and then Hallowicked reversed a body scissors and never looked back!
He pulverized Ophidian with everything he had and there's no doubt that Ophidian's earlier match took its toll.
Still it took a bit to put him away. Multiple finishers and some brawling on the outside before a final GO 2 SLEEPY HOLLOW got the victory!
Hallowicked picks up his first victory in the tournament in spectacular fashion. Ophidian is 0-4 and effectively out of the tournament. These two will have to go back to the drawing board if they hope to have a shot at the title in the future as they just weren't able to produce in the tournament.
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block B) - Kings of Wrestling vs. The Colony Arik Cannon defeated Soldier Ant with a Scorpion Death Lock at 5:54 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: This was pretty much a squash, tho it took everything the KoW had to take down Green Ant. Soldier Ant never even got a tag in, and they were able to effectively cut the ring off.
At one point Chris Hero hit a powerbomb on the outside and Green was nearly counted out. Hero hit the RUBIK'S CUBE twice, but it wasn't quite enough.
The double team was the final nail in the coffin when Hero tagged Cannon in and Cannon slapped on a Scorpion Death Lock and the weakened Green Ant tapped before Soldier Ant could break it up. Convincing victory for the Kings of Wrestling!
With this loss, the Colony drops a notch in the bracket and Marufuji and KENTA are on top and could be in the championship match in two cards!
- 12 Large Summit (Block A) - Claudio Castagnoli vs. Mike Quackenbush Claudio Castagnoli defeated Mike Quackenbush with a RICOLA BOMB at 1:23 Match Rating: 1.75 Match Notes: Talk about shocks! They went move for move and toe to toe in blazing speed to start the match off.
Quackenbush seemed to have the upper hand after a one legged crab from no where, but Castagnoli reversed a bulldog and hit a HUGE chokeslam! Quackenbush was on dream street and Castagnoli caught him with the RICOLA BOMB!
Quackenbush almost got the shoulder up... Almost. It was definitely a close call, but it was indeed a 1, 2, 3!
Castagnoli gets the big win to effectively dominate Block A and go undefeated in 4 matches!
Overall Card Rating: 2.43

CHP #6: Cliffhanger 08.02.2112 from Old National Center, Indianapolis, IN
- Tag Team Grand Prix (Block A) - Quackensaw vs. All Night Express Kenny King defeated Jigsaw with a CORONATION at 6:55 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: This was a surprise. It was almost all Rhett Titus and Kenny King from the get go. Quackenbush came out on fire, but Titus quickly turned it around and hit multiple MUFF DRIVERs, but Jigsaw broke up the pinfall attempts.
A desperation tag to Jigsaw seemed to change things around, but it lasted all too briefly for the team of Quackensaw as Kenny King dominated him.
A round of double team moves put Jigsaw in a bad way and Titus cut off Quackenbush as King followed up their double team finisher with his own CORONATION for the big win!
This has got to be considered an upset! With this loss, Quackensaw are effectively out of the championship hunt and All Night Express play spoiler as they had no way of advancing to the finals.
Quackenbush is still alive in the 12 Large Summit, tho and has plenty of time to rest up before his singles match later in the night.
Gran Akuma vs. Ophidian Gran Akuma defeated Ophidian with a YOSHI TONIC at 17:17 Match Rating: 4.50 Match Notes: This match was incredible!
Akuma and Ophidian gave everything they had and took each others best moves on the road to a stellar finish.
Akuma controlled the early going and came close to putting Ophidian away, but Ophidian came back strong and the battle was on!
Akuma took Ophidian's best moves and holds, but somehow kept getting to the ropes or getting the shoulder up. And then he came back strong and put a further hurt on Ophidian.
The action spilled outside a couple times and there were high spots and brawling galore.
Back in the ring things went back and forth and there was some great chain wrestling. Then it became time for the proverbial kitchen sink portion of the match as they battled back and forth with their biggest moves, but neither man would stay down.

Akuma wins this fantastic bout!
American Wolves vs. Kings of Wrestling Chris Hero defeated Eddie Edwards with a HERO'S WELCOME at 29:24 Match Rating: 4.25 Match Notes: In a brilliant bout that nearly went the full 30 minutes these four went full tilt!
It was a great match with tons of tags and teamwork and plenty of out of the ring action. The pace was up and down on this one. At times it was blazing, at others they settled in to work a hold here and there before amping back up again. The story was basically about who would make the mistake that led to the pin.
Chris Hero looked like the stud that he is and came close to putting Richards and Edwards away a couple of times, tho that's not to say that Cannon was any sort of slouch. He was there when Hero needed him and dished out plenty of punishment on his own.
Richards and Edwards dealt there own brand of punishment, but unfortunately it was never enough to have the KoW on the ropes for too long.
The finish came at the near 30 minute mark when Edwards whipped Hero into the turnbuckle, but Hero came out with a skull splitting lariat and followed it up with a Hero Stomp, 1, 2, NO!
Moonsault from Hero! HERO'S WELCOME! Richards can't make the save... 1...2...3!!!
The KoW get the win and the American Wolves have finished dead last in Block B. The KoW have finished towards the top, but it still looks like Block B belongs to Marufuji and KENTA or the Colony.
Age of the Fall vs. Briscoe Brothers Tyler Black defeated Jay Briscoe with a turnbuckle powerbomb at 12:36 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: This was another excellent tag team bout. Jacobs and Black could play spoiler to any chance the Briscoes have to scoop up Block A with a win.
Tyler Black was definitely the story here. He carried his team, knowing that Jacobs has a match later in the night and put on a great show. Nearly scoring an early upset over Jay Briscoe.
But Mark and Jay wouldn't just lay down. They brought it and we had a damned good tag bout on our hands.
The finish saw Black duck a lariat, hit one of his own and then follow it with a huge turnbuckle powerbomb for a convincing win.
All four men brawled a bit after the bell, and the Briscoes looked hot at their loss, but the Age of the Fall picks up the win and finishes at 2 wins, 1 draw, and 2 losses in the tournament. While the Briscoes end up 2-3.
Eddie Kingston vs. Fire Ant Eddie Kingston defeated Fire Ant with a SLIDING D at 7:00 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: Solid little match. It was all Kingston for the first half as he pounded on Fire Ant. But the Ant came back and was able to score a couple of near falls after BEACH BREAKs, but Kingston wouldn't stay down and they jockeyed for position.
Fire Ant came out on top again and hit a beautiful plancha out of the ring! Kingston looked like he was in trouble, but he battled back with a few kidney punches and hit a backdrop driver out of no where!
Fire Ant is sitting up... SLIDING D!!!
1, 2, 3!
Kingston has roared back to life in the tournament after two straight losses, however he holds a victory over the man sitting atop Block B, Jimmy Jacobs. This makes things interesting, to say the least...
The Batiri vs. Young Bucks Kodama defeated Matt Jackson with a FLYING BLOCKBUSTER at 2:15 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: This match was a defacto final for the block. If the Young Bucks could secure the win they were guaranteed to win the whole block and move to the Campeon de Parejas title match.
However, the Batiri could take the block, if they won...!
Obariyon and Jackson started it off and Obariyon was explosive! He wore Jackson down and then made a tag and the double team had Jackson reeling.
FLYING BLOCKBUSTER! Obariyon cuts off Nick Jackson and the ref counts the 1, 2, 3! What a result!
The Batiri play spoiler and put themselves in a position to win the Campeon de Parejas!
Ultramantis Black vs. Jigsaw Ultramantis Black defeated Jigsaw with a PRAYING MANTIS BOMB at 5:58 Match Rating: 2.50 Match Notes: Ultramantis needed this win to stay alive in the tournament and he came out swinging.
He wore down Jigsaw with strikes and some big moves. The action spilled out early and Ultramantis hit him with a plancha and they followed it up with some brawling.
Back inside, Jigsaw was able to turn things around for a bit, but he'd taken too much punishment and Ultramantis came back to life and sealed the deal with La Saforina followed by the PRAYING MANTIS BOMB for the win.
Claudio Castagnoli vs. Icarus Claudio Castagnoli defeated Icarus with a RICOLA BOMB at 1:12 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: Icarus brought it early, but Castagnoli hit Swiss death out of no where and then followed it up with a few hi impact moves leading to a RICOLA BOMB for an easy win!
And Claudio Castagnoli had gone completely undefeated in the 12 Large Summit! that's 5 wins, 0 losses. A perfect run at the Grand Championship. Will the Block B victor be able to stop him?
Brodie Lee vs. Jimmy Jacobs Brodie Lee defeated Jimmy Jacobs with a BIG BOOT at 3:44 Match Rating: 2.75 Match Notes: Jimmy Jacobs could take Block B with this win but if Brodie Lee splays the spoiler he could force a four-way tie on points! What would happen if that goes down...
Jacobs and Lee traded strikes and holds early, but Jacobs eventually got the upper hand and even hit THE END TIME!
Lee came back, tho! They went back and forth for a bit and Lee even punished Jacobs.
It looked like Jacobs might have control, but Lee hit a lariat out of no where and then hit 3 BIG BOOTs in a row to put Jacobs away!
Wow! That was unexpected and has huge ramifications on the Block B rankings. Brodie Lee has kept himself alive by forcing a four way tie between Ultramantis Black, Eddie Kingston, and these two men... What will happen?
The Colony vs. F.I.S.T. Fire Ant defeated Chuck Taylor with a BEACH BREAK at 12:30 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: The Colony really needed this win to have any chance at a run at this block.
FIST was simply here to act as spoiler for that chance as they're already effectively out of the running.
The ants took it to FIST big time. At one point they isolated Gargano and nearly put him away with a couple of nearfalls, but Taylor would save his partner and mount a comeback shortly after.
There was a lot of great action in this match and the Colony definitely got the most of their tag work.
The finish saw Fire Ant hit a couple of BEACH BREAKs on Taylor for the win!
This puts them in the position of forcing a semi final with Marufuji and KENTA if they can't get it done in the main event.
Hallowicked vs. Mike Quackenbush Hallowicked defeated Mike Quackenbush with a running lariat at 2:00 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: This was a shock!

Marufuji was able to get the duke, tho after a Flash kick! Amasis was reeling in short time and the tag brought KENTA in and he continued to try to put Amasis away.
He methodically picked him apart after a missile dropkick and then a big Tiger driver!
BUSAIKU KNEE KICK! 1,2, NO! Amasis gets the shoulder up and Marufuji has Ophidian distracted on the outside!
GO 2 SLEEP! 1, 2, 3! Marufuji and KENTA have been dominant! They've defeated all-comers, barring the time-limit draw with the Colony.
