The only thing with a PWG set is that most of their roster already exists in other sets. Super Smash Bros, TJ Perkins and Ricochet are the only real names not represented elsewhere. Don't know if that is worthy of their own set.
But I would totally be down for a Super Dragon card.

TJ Perkins already has a bootleg for the ROH game he could get an official card (didn't even know he was in PWG) down the line but I highly doubt it.

I bet we will see this storyline unfold at the Wrestling Is... events with mysterious happenings, surprise appearances by key players, dramatic...things.
So fans of CHIKARA will want to start attending or viewing or buying DVD's of all the Wrestling Is... shows for fear of missing anything.
The idea of a new name is interesting, but at this point, I don't know how much stock I place in anything I hear directly from any source not named Quackenbush.

I think Tom stumbled on the next big thing when he put together the WrestleCon pack. 1 ROH guy, 1 CHIKARA guy etc...we have had big sets for CHIKARA, ROH, SHIMMER, CWFH, CZW etc.. and as a result, the well is quite dry for all the feds now. The answer? Power packs. Couple ROH guys, couple CHIKARA guys, a SHIMMER lady, a CWFH Main guy, a top CZW guy etc...not to mention many other Indy feds worth exploring like PWG. It's like revisiting the LOTF style after a mad rush of fed specific sets. It might be the best way to keep this party going while still getting quality names from top to bottom in every set. I wouldn't mind seeing a six-pack of "Indy Legends". Guys who made it big but were big on the indy scene previously. Color versions of some guys that were released in black and white and possibly some new faces, but reminiscent of their times in the various indy feds FG has licensed. Danielson and Cabana spring to mind, but already have color cards, as does Brodie Lee... so maybe Tyler Black, Necro Butcher, Chris Hero, Claudio Castagnoli? If the Jannetty deal works out you could throw in a current version of Jannetty (ala 2 Cold). Maybe round it out with a female.

It's definitely an angle... the 'cancelled' shows never had any ticket sales, and the Chikara web site is still all set up, and the board is being heavily moderated right now.
Most of the Smarks out there seem to think the angle involves all the 'Wrestling is' feds.. which would make sense, since they all just mostly Chikara talent.
As to the future of set production, I'd think from a business standpoint, the fed-specific sets are better... the feds cross-market (there's a nice FG banner on the Chikara site, for example), and it's easier for people to pick and choose what they want.
I think, other than PWG, FG now has a relationship with all the major indies.. I can't think of any others that would be popular enough to warrant their own set.. unless we're talking Japanese feds. Or, perhaps, dare I say it.... TNA?
That said, 'event' sets like Wrestlecon are great for guys that don't fit anywhere else.
What I hope will happen in the future is that the sets will be 'reworked' periodically. Take Chikara, for example. There are now several guys from the 1st set (Claudio, Daizee Haze, Sara Del Rey, etc) that have moved on. There should be a 'Chikara pack' that gets you all the guys on the current roster, so new fans can get the guys they are seeing in the fed (obviously for Chikara, this would have to wait until the current angle plays out.
The non-active cards could then be placed in a 'alumni pack', so they're still available for those that want them. Seems like things would be alot more accessible to new players that way.

The idea above is both easily accomplished and best left in the hands of the customer once all current/available sets have been purchased. If anything, at some point (possibly 2014) a new starting point for CHIKARA will make sense, and a new 'Starter Box Set' can be created with say 12 new wrestlers and 12 current revamps.

Hey, I just noticed this while reviewing the new ROH cards.
R.D. Evans bears an incredible resemblance to Archibald Peck!
Pretty weird, given that he's alread had one known doppelganger running around, huh?

No weirder than those two guys..Louden Noxious and Gavin Loudspeaker resembling that guy who runs the women's tourneys at Galacticon.
