Kurt Angle said one of the conditions to be in Main Event Mafia , was you have had to be world heavyweight champion once ? . Then next week Magnus joins them . When did he win the world heavyweight title ?

I recognise Magnus' Ring Ka King Heavyweight Championship as a World title! You know...I never thought about that. Still taxes the term MAIN EVENT Mafia to have him in it though.

The one thing that makes no sense about the Main Event Mafia is.......After Sting got the beating from the Aces and Eights and lost the match and any right to fight for the World Title again he complained about nobody coming to help him. I realize nobody helping him makes sense cuz that puts Sting out of title contention. But then he turns around and forms the mafia with the same exact people who didn't help him against Bully. This is a make no sense move that goes along with some of the cuts they made in comparision to some they kept. Plus adding Rampage to the Mafia is like......what! I understand that is only to appeal to the mma crowd but there is a lot of talent out there who would jump at a chance to make it to a little big league promotion. The people in charge dropped the ball big time on this. No sense ....no sense at all.

Much the same thinking as bringing in the fossil squad of Hogan etc. That's great and I get it. But how much are they paying these guys. Do they really bring in enough to make them worth it. That is the question...

Rampage in MEM is like Mongo in the Horsemen. He's the guy from the outside world and he adds the feeling that the group is successful in every aspect of life both in and out of wrestling.

OK, I "get" Rampage being in TNA and the MEM but the real question, as stated above, is does he bring in viewers. Has TNA's ratings gone up since Rampage joined, or Hogan, or anyone really. I seem to remember that the ratings went up a bit when the Aces & Eights thing started. Which leads me to believe that ratings are tied more closely to exciting (or potentially exciting) storylines rather than a new big name appearing.
That said, I think Rampage could eventually do really well in pro-wrestling but he is already getting up there in age so he will likely never see his true potential.

Their philosophy has long been "why build up the AJ/Joe/Daniels/Roode/Storm group when we can just bring in ALLLLLLLL these people and we'll do the same numbers with them?" It looks like AJ's getting a solid push but it's TNA so we'll get swerved and he'll lose the BFG series final to Magnus or Jay Bradley or something stupid.

When talking ratings, first you have to look at actual viewers not rating numbers as they are impossible to compare week to week. Second, you can not expect a large bump as those days are almost gone in wrestling. At least for now but especially for TNA. What they need to do is bring in a extra viewers each week and do their best to keep as many of them coming back. Slow and steady rise. Plus as we see from not only Impact but Raw, sometimes just not losing viewers is a win. Even with good programming. One of TNA's biggest problems besides constant good programming and booking is brand awareness. There are people that actually wondered where RVD has been last 6 years after returning to Raw. Putting on a great show does little good if no one watches. They had some of their best shows over last year but did not see an increase in viewers.
