I was thinking of trying running something like a 'Pro Wrestling Tour', rather than a fed, sorta like tennis, or bowling, were there are self contained events of various importance, that all contribute to a 'World Ranking'. .. maybe even include some financial aspects, were the wrestlers would pay to enter, then win some amount of prize money for the event.
Anyone tried anything in that ball park? I'd love to have some ideas on how the logistics worked out especially...

Anyone tried anything in that ball park? I'd love to have some ideas on how the logistics worked out especially... Sort of... I set up a few 8 or 9 week tours. I took about 30 wrestlers on each tour...the tour played Friday - Monday (4 shows) each week through a region. At the end of the tour, some guys would stay...some would leave...and new ones would enter. What killed it for me was 4 shows a week x 8 week is 32 shows! Graymar

I like this idea a lot. Maybe have four three week tours of four shows a week, one for each season of the year. After all four tours, have a winner's tournament where stars of each tour compete for the Wildfire Cup (or something of that nature.)
The part that I really like is that you could even run it parallel with your regular LOW fed. Competitors in each tour would only miss three weeks from the regular fed. It could also be a way to use wrestlers you're not currently using.

That's true, it could be a side light even, that would make feud's and things easier to work in. That could make it so you could still build feuds even with the more inhibiting nature of alot of tournaments. What I was thinking is there would be a bunch of smallish events in different formats.... some standard knockout tourneys, maybe one or two Japanese Grand Prix style, maybe or or two Gauntlet type, that sorta thing. These would be open, so that any could be there, and would specifically NOT have all the big starts every time, so as to make the bigger events more special. After some number, there would be 1 of 4 major tourneys, like the US Open or the Masters, to use a golf analogy... with those having different requirements, either a points ranking, having won a smaller event, etc... I got some more research to do on the logistics, but once I do I'll let y'all know what I come up with

I'd suggest checking the Greatest Board in the Galaxy for LWPD's awesome Galaxian Pro Wrestling Network fed. It is an excellent read, and I think would be exactly the kind of thing you are looking for!

I've flipping though his stuff.. It's more along the lines of IFL or something, which is also a cool idea, but not quite what I'd goin for. I've got most of the details figured out... There will be weekly 'minor' events, sorta like in the ones in Golf that are only on the golf channel. They'll have a couple big stars, but more mid-card types. Some weeks will also have themed events, like cruiserweights, hardcore, that sorta thing. Where you place in said events will score you points, which will create 'world rankings', which will be the main thing.. no titles here. The more participants, the more points available. They'll be 4 'majors' spaced out evenly, which will have about twice the participants, and be worth twice as much. I'm gonna skip the money thing for now, while I get the kinks out. Keep an eye out for the 1st tourney soon

How are you planning on doing the scoring?
I have a side tournament for the Legends Cup that I run in my offline fed. But it's not really a tour, like what I think you're talking about. More like a couple of big PPVs and then the finals on one of my regular PPVs.
I'd be interested in something a little more ambitious because I have a problem with way too many cards (official and bootleg) and not enough spotlight. I enjoy the tournaments because it gives me a chance to play with cards that I otherwise would have a hard time working in.
Frex, I'm running a feud now between Sabu and Delirious for the Legends of Honor title. That would've never bled over into my main fed if not for the tournaments and side events.

I based it loosely on the ATP tour's method (Tennis)... I'll try to remember to post the actually numbers tonight.... It's a pretty steep curve, so that winning is really a good thing, and hopefully you won't be able to be a top ranked guy by finishing in 6th alot.

Here's the point system... I plan to start guy off at whatever their Rahl rating is, I think, so there's somethere there until stuff gets established:
Small events (16 wrestlers or less)
8th - 5th place: 5 pts 4th - 3rd : 10 pts 2nd: 15 pts 1st: 30 pts
Medium events (17-32 wrestlers)
16th - 9th: 5 pts 8th - 5th : 10 pts 4th - 3rd: 20 pts 2nd : 30 pts 1st: 50 pts
Large events (more than 32) 32nd - 17th: 3 pts 16th - 9th: 6 pts 8th - 5th: 12 pts 4th - 3rd: 25 pts 2nd: 40 pts 1st: 75 pts
4 'Majors': 16th - 9th: 25 pts 8th - 5th: 40 pts 4th - 3rd: 55 pts 2nd: 70 pts 1st: 100 pts
In addition to the above, you get 2 pts per 'clean win' and 1 pt per DQ win.
I figure for events that distinguish, each place will be different, for example, instead of 8th - 5th each being 10 points, you could make it 7-9-11-13 for the 4 spots, if the type of tourney allows.
