A new update has been made to the Champions of the Galaxy Live Event kickstarter campaign. We are pleased to announced that DGUSA, Chikara and PWG star Chuck Taylor will be at the event and will playing the role of Thantos. Those familiar with Chuck know his expertise in playing the dastardly heel, which he will be playing up as the evil mastermind Thantos.
If you have no contributed to the campaign yet, what are you waiting for? Help us reach our goal and lets bring these classic characters to life. Remember when you contribute you will not be charged until the campaign ends and IF we reach our funding goal.
If you have any questions on how it works or anything else about the event don't hesitate to message me.

Interesting casting. Not how I personally pictured Thantos, but Taylor is a solid hand and I'm sure will do well in the role.

Taylor should be fun in the role. My worry is that unless there's a sudden change of heart, this won't hit it's goals.

Nah, it's just mid campaign lulls. It'll pick up at the end. And probably around the first of the month. It'll happen and it's gonna rock! Long love FG!!!

I definitely hope this works out for all you COTG fans. It's a really cool idea. I've never been into COTG and don't have any money to spare at the minute so I will not be contributing. If I was a longtime COTG fan I would be all in. There are some really cool bonuses.
Great idea FG!

I would highly encourage anyone who is a fan of COTG or independent wrestling to support this. Even $20 gets you access to stream the event on your computer if I'm not mistaken, think of it as a preorder to make sure the organizers know up front what kind of capital they have to play with in producing the best possible show for us. I know there are more of you that would purchase the show later if it happens anyway. Why not just commit to preorder the event now?
Even if you are a strictly old school LOW fan, think of it this way, a small contribution will help further legitimize FG as an entity and force in the wrestling world and maybe create some goodwill that could eventually open the doors for legends to sign in the future. A wrestling game company that has promoted its own show by hiring real wrestlers? That could catch attention from a lot of people and help legitimize FG.

I think that Chuck Taylor is one of the best guys on the indie scene and should be a natural for Thantos. A great "get" for the show!

I would like to second everything chewey mentioned above. I think this is an incredible opportunity not just for Filsinger Games, but also for its fans. Tom and crew have consistently managed to up the quantity and quality of their products. In the last few years they've introduced additional ways to get engaged with their games to fit everyone's preferences, including online and downloadable PDFs. Color cards! Revolutionized the Promoter. Allowed me to give you the Encyclopedias. Locked in exclusive deals with six indy federations (and more to come). And in the last half year alone gave you Randy Savage, Roddy Piper and AJ Styles. And I'm sure I am missing about 100 other incredible things they have done lately. As a comic book fan, witnessing the recent super hero movie fad has been amazing. To take it a step further, Marvel is now starting "Live Events" as well. My son really wants to go and the little (big?) kid inside me is more than happy to take him. To me, the COTG Live Event is even more impressive. Every fan of this game should have their own little (big?) kid inside jumping up and down, marking out at the idea of these iconic characters that helped you pass the time, were there with you growing up, maybe even helped you get through some rough patches are going to come to life for one night and make our sci-fi dreams a reality. Pricing-wise... if you stop and think about it... $50 from everyone would probably be more than enough to put this thing over the top. That may sound like a lot, but what do you get for your $50? A DVD of the Live Event and a DVD of the COTG documentary plus a full color, printed game edition. Is it reasonable to think that a typical Filsinger game edition would cost $20 and two DVDs would cost $30... at least? And that is not even all you get. That also includes a poster, a digital copy of the Live Event, an exclusive game card, your name in the credits on the video and a bunch of exclusive first looks at how things are shaping up for the event! That is actually quite a haul for $50. Even if you were thinking you might buy the DVD later on, it would probably be the same price anyway... so why not preorder? Plus... if not enough people contribute, there is no DVD to buy later My kids wanted Frozen on DVD and Disney charged me $30 for that alone... and while it is actually a good movie, it is no COTG! How much does the new Madden game for insert-your-favorite-console-here cost these days? Or a night out at the bar? Anyone going to GCon should want to chip in to be a part of this historic event... and you're going to be there anyway right? Refer back to my cost of a night of drinking question. Even if you can't go, you get to see the whole thing on DVD... and this isn't Tom's neighbor recording the event with a flip cam, it's Smart Mark Video! You get real, legit indy talent (Chuck Taylor? CZW Tag Champion, Alex Reynolds? And that is just to start with!), a real, legit announcer (maybe he will throw in a guitar solo?), and a team that you know will bust their asses to bring you something truly awesome and memorable! (and I'm not just saying that because I would be helping them out and making sure it IS really awesome) I'll even up the ante personally. Not that it is anything major, but Todd can give me a list of everyone that donates $50 or more and I will make each of them a Mini of their choosing... a real-world wrestler (past or present) that isn't signed by FG yet (you want Zack Ryder? Woo woo woo! You know it!), yourself as a fan, or a COTG bootleg that you use or created. As a thank you to FG, as a thank you to all of your fellow promoters out there, and most importantly as a thank you to that little (big?) kid inside of you... please pitch in and help make all of our dreams become a reality!
