I really enjoyed how you developed enemies for the Horsemen - Paralyze for Overmaster, Nightmare for The Messenger, Shepard for Murdok, and Alexander for Shayne - great job!

I was not expecting anything like this and truly have no idea what to expect next!

Thanks guys. I'm moving away from a 'fed' feel to something more story driven. Hopefully it will live up to expectations. Things are going to get interesting real soon. There won't be a set roster any longer as I want to introduce characters in the universe a bit differently. While my new format may limit the number of "fights" I want to use the space to improve my writing skills and truly develop the characters that populate it. The cards are going to be presented as issues (similar to comic book, just not as much art) and will either focus on an individual, a group, or a set of characters.

Shayne is currently a captive and will be competing in The Arena, and will be where my tale truly begins, while other stories will be shown throughout the 'New' universe.

Expect some of these scenes to be large scale battles as well as graphic. Death is real in my universe and some big names may just go down. That said I will have Main Characters, Supporting Characters, as well as Minions/Troops. They will follow different rules (something Eliath and I came up with a long time ago) and will allow for some more dynamic combat scenarios.

Oh yeah... and I just want to add that the artwork you've selected thus far is incredible. It truly portrays the reimagination of each character without being arbitrary. You're obviously putting alot of work into this... it shows.

For some reason I envision the ending of the prologue of Alien vs. Predator where the mass of aliens were swarming up the pyramid right before the final predator blew everything up - that is Shayne in The Arena.

I cannot express how happy I am to see you taking the gloves off with this project and bringing it to life. If it is 1/10 of what we have talked about it will easily be the best read on any board - hands down.

Delve into those characters bro - I for one cannot wait to see what happens next!

Issue #1


Shayne exits through the arch into The Arena. Encased in Gladiator Mark V armor, which amounts to little more than boots & gloves that augment his natural talents as a fighter, a belt with a personal force field built in, and two nano-tech patches implanted at the temples to allow for control of the suits functions. Shayne surveys his opponent for this match. A beast belonging to The Overmaster known as a Megalore. Right now it is being restrained, giving Shayne a chance to look up at Alexander, who is watching from a balcony set into the middle of the circular structure.

With Alexander are two of his lieutenants... Coven Black and Kavan. Alexander signals for the fight to begin and the Megalore is released, roaring loudly as it charges Shayne.


The Megalore



Shayne meets Megalore's charge with a hard right sending the beast stumbling. Megalore recovers his footing and once again runs full tilt at Shayne and sends him flying. Shayne lands hard, but manages to roll with the impact to minimize the damage, and comes up on one knee. Takes aim and lets loose a Tesla bolt that momentarily stuns the beast.

Shayne thinks to himself, 'Faster than I thought... and strong. Going to have to keep it off balance if I want to stand a chance."

Shayne fires another shot before using the suit to make a leap and spins into a kick...

As the fight is going on Alexander feels the ripples from the very fabric of space being ripped as The Messenger comes through. Kavan reacts violently and eats a bullet from one of Messenger's consecrated guns. Messenger points the other at Coven Black, but before things escalate further, Alexander steps in.


Alexander, "Leave us Coven. Take Kaven with you. Prepare the strike force and I will join you shortly. My brother and I have much to discuss."

Messenger, "Vallah will be displeased at your treachery brother."

Alexander, "Do you not realize that there is no Vallah anymore. Nor Maramus. There is only Chaos. It is not too late to join us. You could be elevated to one of The Four. I do not trust Shepard. I fear his motives are not our own."

Messenger, "Your mistaken. While Maramus may fall. Vallah is Eternal. Despite what you might think brother. Maramus is most assuredly behind this. He is Chaos' true master. Turn from this path while there is still time."

Alexander smirks, "Turn from this path? How long have we known each other? I have always been an Agent of Chaos, sowing the seeds of Anarchy, you know this as well as anyone."

Messenger, "This is madness!"

Alexander smile becomes a sneer, "NO! This is existence. What Black Death took from us... Chaos restored. Some will remember, but not all. That is why it is my duty to cull the universe and bring everyone under Chaos' rule. Speaking of which I have an invasion to lead."

Messenger, "Listen to yourself. You speak as if YOU decide who dies and who lives."

Alexander turns his back on Messenger to leave and whispers, "Haven't you heard brother...I AM DEATH."


Megalore takes the full force of Shayne's kick and swats him away like a bug. Megalore mounts the prone Shayne and starts wailing away with its fists as Shayne does everything he can to avoid or block the incoming blows. One good shot gets past his defense and takes the shield down... then another... then another... and Shayne begins to get woozy and risks blacking out. Shayne claws at the emitter on the belt and pulls it free, exposing the crystal core that creates the shield. Shayne slams the crystal into the Megalore's skin and pops the shield, the beat rears up, and Shayne collapses the field which crushes the beasts heart, Killing it.

Having survived the fight against the beast, Shayne once again turns his attention towards the balcony, but does not see Alexander. Not that it would matter much though. The implants that give him control of his exo-suit are also his prison. Alexander could shut him down and have him killed, which makes Shayne wonder why he hasn't done just that, unless he has reasons to keep Shayne alive.



Elsewhere in the Galaxy
Centropolis Main Gate

The sound of artillery explosions and gunfire fills Pendragon's ears as the R.O.C. battle in a war of attrition against Murdok's horde of undead. Off to his left Battalion battles against several zombies, trying to cut a path to the alien Zygon, who is commanding a legion of his own. Pendragon spots his target... The Witchdoctor, who is responsible for the attack on the gates. Knowing Battalion can handle himself Pendragon leaves him to fight his own fight.

Battalion cuts his way toward Zygon Guns Blazing, taking out several undead in his wake, before switching to his swords and taking the heads off the main three guarding Zygon before engaging the alien in battle. Battalion opens up with several swords slices only to have Zygon deflect them with a wave of his hand. Battalion never stood a chance against the master of necromancy, as hands burst forth from the ground around him, and hold Battalion in place as Zygon crushes his skull with his Tri-Claw.

The R.O.C. captain wades into the horde and blasts several of the into bits with his heavy plasma rifle, sending body parts flying, as he creates a path toward Witchdoctor. Witchdoctor spots Pendragon and launches a Death's Spectrum Fireball in his direction. The fireball narrowly misses Pendragon, only succeeding in another display of gore, as it blows apart several more undead troops. Pendragon fires off a burst from his rifle before closing the distance and engaging Witchdoctor in hand-to-hand combat.

Pendragon and Witchdoctor traded blows blades, Pendragon with a combat vibro-blade and Witchdoctor with a wicked looking dagger, and after several parries from both men Pendragon caught Witchdoctor across the chest, opening up a long gash. Pendragon pushed his advantage and cut Witchdoctor several more times before Going for the Throat. Witchdoctor manages to avoid the killing blow and Pendragon is caught with a blast of Black Mist that blinds him allowing Witchdoctor the chance to escape.

Pendragon lets out a sound of frustration at having missed his chance to end Witchdoctor's life, but with out him there, the undead begin to fall. Centopolis is safe today, but with Witchdoctor still out there, tomorrow may be a different story. Pendragon looks for Battalion and spots his friends headless corpse not that far from wher he battled Witchdoctor.

Pendragon, "I am sorry Battle Brother. You gave your life to protect Centra and I will avenge your death. Zygon will pay for what he has done here today."




The Planet Cetus


A pair of dropships land in the middle of a small sprawl on Cetus. Out of one pour hundreds of vampiric creatures and from the other step Coven Black, Kavan, and Alexander Ubel. Alexander merely points and the other two race forward at superhuman speed to join the attack on the Cetus natives. A disk of pure energy appears in the sky before slamming into the streets. Vampires are sent flying in all directions, the lucky ones only suffering impact damage, while others are burned to ash where they stand. The blinding flash causes Aexander to avert his eyes, but while the shockwave that followed sent the drop ships rolling away, Alexander was not moved an inch. Alexander looks up into the sky and spots a figure in yellow, holding both Coven Black and Kavan by the throat, his eyes glowing with fury.





Alexander smiles, "Ah Star Warrior... I see you decided to come to the party after all."
