Earth Occupied - Patriot No More #1The Island of Dr. Barnabus : The PastBarnabus walks past a row of Nutrient Vats containing various humanoid animals. He stops in front of one of the vats and stares at a large reptilian creature, on the side is the name Dreadnaught, before moving further down to one contaning an humanoid Mantis.
Barnabus turns to his aid, "They are coming along nicely. How long till they are ready."Strutter, "These two are almost reaching maturity. Two are ready now."Barnabus, "Take me to them."Vin Strutter leads Barnabus to the containment area where Mandrill and an ant-like creature are housed.
Strutter, "Madrill has diplayed a genius level intelligence and will make a good leader for the team. While the other is little more than a beast. I call him DeviANT."Barnabus smiles, "Excellent. As soon as the other two are ready, unleash them on New York. I want them to provide a distraction as I move on to phase two."Strutter, "It will be done."Barnabus turns and leaves.
New York : Present DayThe street is in ruins as the Earth Defense Force clash with The Menagerie. Dreadnaught casually backhands a car in The Patriot's direction who uses the projectile to gain some hight for his own attack, only to have the beast send him sailing into a storefront with an uprooted lamp post. Adam rolls with the impact and comes up on one knee, pistol raised. He fires off several shots that do little more than piss Dreadnaught off as he rushes toward the EDF leader.
Not far off Manny Faust, Also known as The Amazing Mann, tries to take down the DeviANT. Mann fires off several Eldritch bolts, which stun the beast, and quickly puts him in Lock Down with some enchanted shackles. Mann has little time to breath as he is ambushed by Mantis who had made short work of the EDF's telekinetic powerhouse PSI. Mann summons Eldritch gauntlets to shield his arms from the razor sharp spikes on Mantis' arms.
Watching from a rooftop high above the chaos is Mandrill. The Menagerie leader assembles a weapon without even looking at it before getting into position, takes aim at The Patriot, and... fires.
The Patriot lands several shots to the body of Dreadnaught with steel plated fists before sending him reeling with a jumping roundhouse kick. At that moment he hears the shot, and in the split second it takes for the bullet to reach him, PSI hits it with a telekinetic bolt that changes its trajectory. The Patriot yells something as he backhands the recovering Dreadnaught and runs to the victim hit by the bullet meant for him. A young girl lays bleeding on the sidewalk as The Meangerie make their escape as the EDF are called off.
Several Years ago.Adam undergoes the final transformation into The Patriot after recieving the gene therapy from the government funded Project : Champions turns him into a super soldier. His first task... take down the terrorist known as Whiplash.
The Patriot is on board a military cargo plane preparing to drop into India where intel says Whiplash is hiding out. They reach the dropzone and Patriot jumps out, followed by a specially built motorcycle that was designed for Adam, and will only respond to his biometrics. Upon landing Patriot locks into the bike, which is much like a second skin, as nano-technology allows for him to opporate it mentally instead of physically. giving him incredible reaction time that his muscles could not match.
Adam spends several days slumming it before he finally gets a lead on his target and makes his way to the terrorist stronghold. An old temple far away from civilization. Patriot suits up once he gets there and prepares for his assault on the temple. After a short recon of the territory he spots a breach in the wall and ducks inside, taking out two guards quickly and silently before moving into the main building.
Once inside The Patriot take out guard after guard before sending the final two through the door at the top of a long spiral staircase. Patriot steps inside to see a horrific scene. Several young women are lain out one alters that sit at the points of a pentagram. In the center is Whiplash who is chanting in an ancient tongue.
Patriot shouts, "What is this evil?"Whiplash finishes his chant and slowly rises, but doesn't face The Patriot. Adam springs into action, but is stopped by the invisible barrier that surrounds the pentagram. A small rift begins to open and a voice is heard as if it is in his head.
The Voice booms, "Take care of this nuisance Whiplash and you will be rewarded for your loyalty."Whiplash turns suddenly, energy whips extending from his forearms, and rakes them across Patriot's chest scorching the fabric and burning his skin. Patriot rolls away from the second assault and uses the momentum to spring across the gap between him and Whiplash, dropping the man with a flying elbow. Whiplash flicks his wrist, sending the whip out again causing Patriot to dodge yet again, giving him time to get up. Whiplash begins to twirl his whips around, each one hitting with enough force to scar the stone floor, before spiraling out toward the Patriot in an attempt to trip him up. Patriot's augmented reflexes kick in and the super soldier weaves in between each whip to deliver a wicked rising knee that snaps Whiplash's head back and sends him crashing to the floor, his head bouncing off the floor, and casing spots before his eyes.
Before Patriot can finish the fight though, a bolt of Blackfire sends him crashing back through the opening to the room and the demon steps through the rift into the room.
Blazing Skull looks down at Whiplash, "Your will is strong, but the flesh is weak. I will rectify that. Do not fear death my minion for you will be born again"With those words Blazing Skull burns away Whiplash's flesh, leaving behind a burning skeleton.
Patriot recovers to find the room deserted. Only death remained.
