I'm putting this here because I first thought of it looking at a CZW set but I really could put it in any section. Jon Moxley has a new card for CZW. How is this legal? I mean,I ubderstand Claudio being "grandfathered in" but if Dean Ambrose is a WWE character, how can he be released in a non-WWE game? I get that they aren't using the name, but I mean,it's obviously a picture of Dean Ambrose. He has the same move set ,I assume,as Ambrose. I've seen Moxley CZW matches,it's not like Chuck Taylor playing Thantos at COTG. Aside from the cussing and mousetraps,Moxley and Ambrose are the same exact guy,it's not an actor playing 2 different characters. Same could be said for Bryan Danielson or Kip and Buddy (whatever the new age outlaws are called) how do the "rules" for this work? Could we have a card called "Hawaiian Cult Beard Man" or "Adult 12 Year Old Chin Clefter"?
Just curious,I'm not sticking up for WWE or anything.

My guess is "Jon Moxley" signed prior to the existence of Dean Ambrose. That's why they(WWE) make them change names. So they can control it. They didn't buy the Moxley character. And WWE doesn't own his likeness (I hope). There are others here who definitely can answer this better in an official capacity. And the moves sets are NOT the same at all. CZW Moxley is way different than WWE Ambrose.

I also wanted to know about this since it could present some great opportunities.
Could we see a Britani Knight card in a future shimmer set ?

If she had signed BEFORE starting with WWE we could, but I'm guessing it didn't happen, so... I doubt we'll ever get a Britani Knight card.

My guess is "Jon Moxley" signed prior to the existence of Dean Ambrose. Yeah, I have been involved with signing wrestlers to the game for a little over 5 years now and I had heard Moxley had been signed (I think by Lyle) with Filsinger Games for awhile before the WWE signed him. rxchrisg. if a wrestler signs a Filsinger Games release form and the signing is dated prior to them signing with the WWE then they are eligible to have cards released but only as the Indy name for which they signed permission for Filsinger Games to create cards. For example, Filsinger Games can create cards for Bryan Danielson because he signed as Bryan Danielson with Filsinger Games prior to going to the WWE but Filsinger Games could not produce a card for the name Daniel Bryan. I really don't think Filsinger Games has anything to worry about since they are actually getting signed and dated permission from the wrestlers themselves. You know how RF Video produces ECW DVDs? I was at Wrestle Reunion 6 2 years ago at the RF Video vendor table looking at some of their DVDs and another fan asked the guy working the table how the could produce ECW DVDs. The guy said the WWE actually went after him but could not do anything about it because he had signed permission from Paul Heyman giving him the right to produce ECW DVDs prior to Heyman's deal with Vince.

Wow! That's really interesting about the ECW DVDs. I had always wondered that.

Because despite their best attempts, WWE is NOT the be-all, end-all of the "business". They can pretend that a wrestler never existed before signing with the oh-so-mighty "E" all they want, the fact is the majority of these guys did in fact have a career in the WRESTLING industry before signing up to be a "sports entertainer" (except of course for the "Chosen One" Roman Reigns)and there's not a damn thing WWE can do to erase their pasts, as much as they'd like to. So despite whatever stupid name WWE saddles them with, as long as they signed with US before signing with THEM, too bad for those arrogant pricks running (ruining is more like it) the WWE.

I'm putting this here because I first thought of it looking at a CZW set but I really could put it in any section. Jon Moxley has a new card for CZW. How is this legal? At 1st I was the guy who would go and get wrestlers at CZW and Chikara shows, so TM could sign them. When I was given the OK to sign people on my own, the 1st people I signed were Adam Cole, Madison Eagles, Sami Callihan (NXT's Soloman Crowe) and Jon Moxley. This was probably a year before he signed with Vince, and I'm sure they don't have the rights to the Moxley name. The picture used for the card is also one I took of him, which I do for most of the CZW performers.
