When I returned to playing COTG last June after so many years away, I must admit... None of the other game lines were of any interest to me... I have not watched WWE in several years and none of the other feds are much talked about where I live...
After being a part of this community for the past few months, I've really come to love a number of Indy feds being run by other promoters... Now I am thinking I might like to try my hand at a mixed Indy fed of my own using sets from different leagues... My question if this...
Which sets will blend together the best? In all honesty, there are certain characters that I am particularly interested in and will probably try my best to incorporate those individuals (AJ Styles, Bryan Danielson, Tyler Black, Christopher Daniels, Jimmy Jacobs, Johnny Gargano, Kevin Steen and Jon Moxley to name just a few - I will probably also use a CAC version of CM Punk, but that is neither here nor there)...
So, please give me your opinions... ROH? Evolve? Chikara? CZW? Newer or older sets? What are your recommendations?
Thanks to anyone that takes a moment to reply... Although I'm not 100% sure that I'll throw my hat into the Indy ring, it's certainly something that I've been considering...

in my opinion all the Indy sets go together pretty good. When I started ordering sets I started with Promoter Prime and Promoter Online mag (which has alot of printable cards) then I just started ordering sets based off a single card. When I finally started my fed I put together a roster using cards from all the different sets even the champions 2087, & they all blended well together. The CAC PUNK is currently my chanpion.

I'd start with ROH and then Evolve, Chikara, CWFH, CZW, and then the other stuff in that order.

ROH definitely has the most star power so I can't imagine you wanting to NOT get some of those sets.
CZW is probably pretty underpowered, especially the first set, but that means it fits a little better with the main LOW sets. I think most of the cards would fall in the middle to bottom of an ROH fed, which is probably where they should be comparitively.
Chikara is a little all over the board to me. Some characters seem too powerful if compared to other sets (but typically fit very well within the confines of the Chikara universe) and some would probably make the transition nicely.
Evolve is probably the fed that would fit with ROH best stylistically and stat-wise the wrestlers would probably fall right where they should.
CWFH is one of my favorite indy fed sets. It fits REALLY well with the Legends stuff, I think. The first set would give you a really good Adam Pearce to use in ROH as well as The Tribe and some other really great gimmicks / wrestlers.
Of course, if you enjoy ladies wrestling you can't go wrong with the Shimmer sets. All are VERY well made and fit very well within the context of LOW as a whole as well as with other indy ladies releases.
Olde Wrestling is a really fun set but it is only 4 cards and 3 would rank very low in just about every fed imaginable.
Hope this breakdown of my personal opinions on these sets is helpful in someway. And hope I didn't miss any...

Don't forget the Wrestlecon and National Pro Wrestling Day sets.
There are some decent guys in those sets to fill out your ranks.

As others have said ROH is probably where you want to start if you want to be most familiar with the roster. The ROH Legends of Honor set have a bunch of names you will be familiar with. But in the end all of the promotions are great, and you should really just get them all.

Many thanks for all the replies so far... Extremely helpful...
ROH and Evolve look to be the best starting point for what I have in mind... And who knows? Maybe Promoter Prime 2015 is something I should consider as well... The artwork for Bodhi and Daivari is truly impressive.

I definitely recommend Promoter Prime. I should have said that as well.

I think it really depends on what you looking to do with the feds. Are you looking to run a single fed with cards from the various sets or running just one particular territory. The biggest challenge I have faced is how to use wrestlers represented by multiple cards. For instance if you use the ROH Bryan Danielson card before his Chikara version then you miss out on booking the growth of Danielson. The same could be said of Adam Cole who is respresented In three sets all with a different slant (heel, babyface and cocky heel). Although I don't have the evolve set yet it appears from the posted results the Elvove Gargano is a monster improvement over his Chikara version which was a mid card tag team competitor at best. My suggestion is to go chronologically. You can experience the growth of the game and competitors.

That is a valid point bookerbill and one that I'm considering... My current mindset is that I would prefer to jump right into the present and let my company's future be its only history... That being said, my mind is subject to change... Often... And without notice... Thank you so much for the input. Always appreciated.
