I'm NOT a fan of his ROH color card PICTURE at all. 99.9% of the time I LOVE Werner's art but this is that 0.01 time IMO. The LOWF card below looks JUST like him. Interested in seeing what the rest of you think, I'm probably in the minority as usual.

Looks like a CHIKARA card to me, with the background and cartoonish look.

I agree with you. I've never thought that ROH art looked much like Strong, whereas the LOTF art looks 100% like him.

Too be honest. Werner doesn't choose the image. It would have been given to him or asked from him. I was really surprised that we got an action shot with Roderick and not something like the Legends of the Future card. Maybe it will be one of those cards that might get a Promoter Prime release in the future? I am still waiting on a updated Brent Albright card.

Back when I worked with FG and was doing the CWFH sets, the wrestlers chose their photos so perhaps that's the case here. Or perhaps it was an artistic choice. Still worlds better than I can draw.

I think in this case it was also to try something different than the usual "pose for the camera". I use both of these cards. The Legends of the Future card in my Legends fed.

When it was discussed on the boards here when the set was first coming out it seemed like it was a conscious decision by all involved to try something different. We already had our posed artwork from LOTF and now we were going to get the action shot, just like with El Generico. I applaud them for trying something different but as it stands I think it is probably one of Werner's weaker pieces of artwork in the past 5 or so years. But Werner is usually very, very good and it's so rare that we get a piece from him that I don't care for that it is easy to forgive a misstep once in a great while.

I've never been a fan of the Strong ROH artwork. I applaud the attempt at doing something different (every card with the same design, pose etc would get dull very quick), but this is a miss for me.
Working with Werner on the Wrecking Crew and Tecnicos 6-packs, I can tell you that he draws what the producers of the set ask him to draw. And does a helluva job every time while being incredibly efficient.
Some may like the color art, and by no means is it even bad, personally I'm just not feeling it. Colorize the LOTF card and I'd be happy.
