VX PROMOTIONS PRESENTS: ACE BATTLE FOR CENTRA

The two heroes faced each other. One wore a weary, defeated look. The other wore the face of concern.

“I’ll be fine. I will!”

“I hope so. I need you in that ring focused, Aegis.”

“I’m telling you, Lance, I’ll be alright.”

The two shook hands firmly.

“I promise you, Aegis. For what he did to my friend. What he did to your wife.”

“Murdok will pay!”

“Yes. Murdok will pay.”


“We wait.”

Godsend smiled, the demon’s eyes glinting in the dark moon’s rays.

“I don’t want to wait. I want to attack now!”

Godsend shook his head. “Violate the treaty now and you will bring too much wrath upon your head. From all sides. Not just the Ramparts. The Ravagers and the Tribes of Primus would all join forces against us. No. We must let them weaken each other and then pick the flesh off of their bones!”

Murdok slammed his fist into the wall. “I am not a patient being! All enemies of the Crusade must be destroyed now.”

Godsend cast a glance to Trisis. The Queen of the Damned slithered her way towards Murdok.

“All in good time,” Godsend said as he turned and left the two alone.

Murdok stroked the ghastly face of the once gorgeous Trisis. “Calm my bloodthirst my pet,” he whispered to Trisis as Godsend closed the door.


“The natives are very restless.”

Pariah was looking just a bit pale.

“What are the nuisances mad about this time?”

Bunch of psychos. All of them from the Ramparts to the Tribesmen and all points in between. If they had been able to handle their own business, we wouldn’t be having these problems.

“They want to know when you are going to make Paganax and Resurrection defend their titles.”

“When I feel like it!”

“Seriously!” Pariah paced angrily. Maybe he was on their side in this, I thought. I wouldn’t have been surprised either.

“Yes. Seriously. They all had their chance in the tournaments. The champions won. The Essence is theirs as long as I say it is.”

“But Nicodemus….”

“…is a crazy old Ravager who you better not trust. He is a loose cannon! Unstable! And he lost to Paganax! It will be a long time before I ever consider giving him of all of them a shot at the Essence! Let’s go. We got a show to put on!”

“A show.” Pariah looked at me. “This is all it is to you. A show.”

I nodded. “Their existence isn’t my problem. That’s for them to fight it out. Not me.”

“Shepard was right about you.”

“Yes. Yes, he was.”

ACE 2119 CARD #4

MURDOK W/TRISIS VS NEMEAN
Murdok quickly locks on the CENTRA TAKEOVER and was that close to getting the submission but just couldn’t quite get it. Murdok just misses getting the 3 count with the POWER OF THE PLAGUE. Murdok hits the Head Spear Takedown. Murdok follows up applying the CENTRA TAKEOVER again and Nemean tries to hang on but finally has to submit.
WINNER OF THE MATCH: MURDOK

“You have so many of Murdok’s army in matches tonight. They will be parading Trisis in front of Aegis all night long.”

I grinned at Pariah. “It’ll be great for ratings.”

“You are sick!”

GODSEND AND NOXIOUS W/TRISIS VS THE SWAT TEAM
Noxious used a chicken wing suplex to gain a 2 count on Flatliner. The SWAT Team came back with THE BIG PAYBACK on Noxious and Warfare scored the 3 count as Flatliner made sure a rather unenthusiastic Godsend did not make the save.
WINNERS OF THE MATCH: THE SWAT TEAM

Murdok slid into the ring and confronted Godsend. Godsend seemed to smirk as he slipped out of the ring and Murdok and Noxious followed.

GENERAL RANKOR VS PAINMASTER
Rankor traps PainMaster in the +4 GUILTY OF TREASON but the free agent is able to free himself and the match continued. Rankor scored a 2 count with a front face DDT. PainMaster came back with a reverse underhook DDT and just missed getting a 3 count. Another near win happened for PainMaster following a tilt-a-whirl gutbuster drop. PainMaster followed that up with The Torture Rack. A bit later, PainMaster finished off the Benedict Ravager with the Impale Clothesline.
WINNER OF THE MATCH: PAINMASTER

Painmaster grabbed a mic! “Now, you give me Paganax!”

I looked out at the free agent. “Screw you! You backstabbing twit! You’ll get who I say you get! Now, get out of my ring!”

HEROES UNITED VS DARKNESS FALLS
Lance At-Las dropped Krypt with a karate kick and made the cover and scored a 2 count. At-Las also got a 2 count on Krypt with the MARS MANHANDLER. Krypt came back to score a 1 count on Aegis with a suicide leap. Jakyll tagged in and Darkness Falls gave Aegis the RED DAWN but Aegis kicked out at 2. Aegis came back but missed a deathjump and Krypt covered but barely even got a 1 count. Again Aegis kicked out of the RED DAWN AT 2. The Heroes battled back and At-Las used a flying head scissors to roll Krypt into a pinning combination and the ref just managed to count to 3 as Aegis kept Jakyll from making the save.
WINNERS OF THE MATCH: HEROES UNITED

“Aegis is still mentally defeated,” Pariah commented.

I nodded. “He better get his mind right. I’m not going to protect him forever.”

“Protect him? Is that what you call what you are doing?”

I nodded again. “You will see in time.”

“You are a strange man.”

“I’m doing what’s best for business.”

NONTITLE MATCH
RESURRECTION W/TRISIS VS NICODEMUS AND VENTROSS
Nicodemus ordered Ventross to begin the match and it almost meant a one-move win for the Ravagers as Ventross avoided an elbow strike and gave Corporal Tek the Ravager Gut Buster and made the cover and just missed getting the 3 count. The Ravagers continued to work over Tek and Ventross hit a deathjump and got the 3 count as Nicodemus cut off Cremator.
WINNERS OF THE MATCH: NICODEMUS AND VENTROSS

Nicodemus held his hands high in victory. Ventross just looked at him, shook his head and walked off.

“Taking credit for all of Ventross’ work. I am half tempted to give Ventross the title shot at Paganax.”

“Nicodemus would lose his mind!”

“Yeah. That would be fun.”

Fantastic idea! Although Nicodemus has little mind left to lose, I fear...

Murdok has a nice streak going, but it seems to be mainly against subpar competition... Liking the small displays of friction between him and Godsend...

Great job 'protecting' Aegis too... Some might call it 'exploiting', but I guess you know best... LOL!

Excellent storytelling in this fed... Superb work!

“How many times do I have to tell you? All of you! This is not my war!”

Eliath had established a holo-conference with the four faction leaders. Well, except for Paganax who was being represented by General Rankor. And Godsend was with Murdok. And Lance At-Las with Aegis.

Only Nicodemus was alone in this conference.

“You want the Essence. You want your wife back. You want some damn Crusade. You…Rankor, I don’t even know what you want!”

“How about making the champions defend their titles?”

“Why should I? Especially against you, Nicodemus. You had your match with Paganax. And you lost. So did you, Aegis. So, why does either of you deserve a title match? Maybe Lance At-Las should get one? Or Ventross!”

“Over my dead body!” Nicodemus screamed.

“Don’t tempt me,” Rankor retorted.

“I’ll give worthy wrestlers title shots when I see fit!” It was time to have some fun with these fools. “Nicodemus, you can have a match with Murdok and then we will see about what to do with Paganax.”

“Dammit, I want Murdok!”

“Aegis, you can have Godsend. Then we will talk about a match with Murdok. As for the rest of you, try and impress me and we will see what I decide to do!”

NICODEMUS VS MURDOK W/TRISIS

PAINMASTER VS JAKYLL

AEGIS VS GODSEND W/TRISIS

RESURRECTION AND NOXIOUS W/TRISIS VS THE SPECIALISTS AND ROUSER

Another great card on its way... If Godsend manages to come out on top against Aegis, I would think that would put him near the top of the rankings as well... Maybe Godsend vs. Ventross for the number one contender spot... Oh, how the heads would turn...

“Are you sure you are up to this?”

Aegis nodded. “I am ready! Godsend will be the first to feel my wrath. Then Murdok! Trisis will be avenged!”

Lance nodded and then shook his head. “I don’t know. Maybe we should try and push for more tag matches first.”

“No! I must do this one myself!”




CARD # 5

NICODEMUS VS MURDOK W/TRISIS
The Murdok Power Bomb gained a 2 count. Nicodemus survived the CENTRA TAKEOVER as well. Nicodemus came back to get a 1 count with the Commander Clothesline. The Ravager Gutbuster got a 1 count for Nicodemus. A savatte kick ended Murdok’s night as Trisis could not make the distraction.
WINNER OF THE MATCH: NICODEMUS

The old Ravager again was petitioning for a shot at Paganax. It wasn’t time yet. He still wasn’t ready to accept that I ran this show!

PAINMASTER VS JAKYLL
The PainMaster Stretch Bomb scored a 1 count. PainMaster followed up with the FACE-FIRST CRASH for a 2 count. PainMaster followed that up with the Torture Rack. And later The Torture Rack again tortured Jakyll. Jakyll fought back and forced PainMaster to have to beat the 10 count after a DDT on the floor outside the ring. PainMaster was soon back in control with The Torture Rack. PainMaster hits a deathjump for a 1 count. PainMaster went back to The Torture Rack one more time and finally ended the match.
WINNER OF THE MATCH: PAINMASTER

I nodded. I had plans for him. He was about to find out what they were.

AEGIS VS GODSEND W/TRISIS
Throughout the match, Aegis was constantly losing his focus as he could not decide whether to face his opponent or try and get through to his wife. Godsend caught Aegis in the Dextral Choke. The Godsend Super Backdrop was good for a 2 count. Godsend also used a slingshot catapult to get a 2 count. Godsend ended it with THE REALM ETERNAL.
WINNER OF THE MATCH: GODSEND

“I tried to protect you, Aegis,” I yelled at the beaten hero. “Maybe Lance At-Las was right to petition for more tag team matches until you get your head straight! But that’s going to happen next week because Lance At-Las is going to face PainMaster next week!”

RESURRECTION AND NOXIOUS W/TRISIS VS THE SPECIALISTS AND ROUSER
Shepard hit the +4 EXORCISM on Corporal Tek and scored a 1 count. Scorch tagged in and hit Corporal Tek with THE TRAILBLAZER and scored a 2 count. Rouser tagged in and nailed Tek with the XENOPHBIA and it was 1-2-3 no just 2 just 2. So close! Later, Rouser tried a deathjump but was caught in mid-air by a face claw into a slam and covered by Cremator for the 1-2-3 no, Rouser just got a shoulder up. Tek came off the top rope with a clothesline and covered Rouser for a 2 count. Noxious would hit the +2 OUTBREAK on Rouser and score a 2 count. Cremator tagged in and Noxious and Cremator gave Rouser a double elbow drop and then Cremator covered for a 2 count. Noxious hit the +1 OUTBREAK and Scorch came in and so did Tek and the referee put Tek back in the corner and Scorch dropped an elbow on Noxious and put Rouser on top of Noxious and the ref turned around and counted 1-2 and Noxious kicked out. With the heroes having turned the match around, Murdok came out and called for a full scale retreat and the three members of the Crusade and Aegis’ poor wife followed Murdok to the exits.
WINNERS OF THE MATCH AS A RESULT OF A COUNTOUT: THE SPECIALISTS AND ROUSER

“Nobody runs out on my show, Murdok! Next week! Resurrection will defend their Essence Tag Team Titles against the Specialists!”

Big win for Nicodemus... Probably played a part in Murdok's decision to pull his forces out of their main event match... I predict that's gonna cost Resurrection the tag straps... Don't think they have what it takes to go up against The Specialists...

Godsend defeating Aegis seems to fit into your plans nicely... It's gonna be awhile before the commander of the ROC has his head on straight, I think...

Excellent show! And it looks like the next one is shaping up to be even better!

“Where is Aegis?”

Shepard shrugged. Rouser looked down at his feet. Scorch turned away.

“Where is he?”

“We don’t know.”

“What do you mean…we don’t know. What is that? Why don’t we?”

“Because he didn’t want us to.”

“He went off by himself? In the middle of this war?”

“Lance…”

“Shepard! We have to find him!”

“No. He needs to find himself. He needs this time. We have to give him space. He’ll be back. And when he returns, he’ll be ready mentally to crush the life out of Murdok’s Crusade!”


Meanwhile, amidst the ruins of the once proud city of Centrapolis, Murdok strokes the rotting flesh of the woman once known as Trisis.

“Aegis is finished! He has run away! Hahahahahaha!”

Trisis twitched once at the mention of the name Aegis and then sat still again.

“But we must do something about the Specialists so they don’t take our portion of the Essence. Trisis, you must make sure that Shepard and Scorch do not win!”


“If I didn’t know any better, I would swear you were taking sides.”

Pariah shrugged, sheepishly.

“You want The Specialists to win, don’t you.”

“Yeah.” He nodded. “I do!”

“I suppose it could make from great holovision viewing.”

“Come on! It’s not about that! It’s about good overcoming evil for once! I want Murdok to lose! Okay? I think he is a deplorable scumbag and the Essence should never be anywhere near his possession!”

“And that too makes for great holovision viewing!”

“Damn, dude, don’t you care about anyone other than you audience?”

“In this dimension? Hell no!” I swung my arms out in a wide arc. “Look around you. Better yet. Smell around you. That stench? That rotting foul plague? They can have it. And if they all destroy each other. The rest of existence would be better off!”

“Fools! All of them. Your husband. Your new master. Fighting for some noble cause or maniacal crusade. When the last one falls. All is said and done. I, Godsend, will reign among the ruins. It is written and so shall it pass! Hahahahaha!”

CARD #6
NEMEAN VS ROUSER
Nemean gets a 1 count with the Ravager Gut Buster. Rouser struck back with a pair of Elbow Missile Drops. A piledriver gained Rouser a 2 count. Another Elbow Missile Drop and Rouser got the 1-2-3.
WINNER OF THE MATCH: ROUSER

“Bravo!” I applauded. “Well done! And now that the undercard bums have entertained us, let’s get on with the real matches.”

VENTROSS VS MURDOK W/TRISIS
Murdok strikes with the Head Spear Takedown. Murdok finishes it off with the POWER OF THE PLAGUE.
WINNER OF THE MATCH: MURDOK.

“That sucked!” Pariah shook his head in disappointment. Ventross was one of his favorites. Me? I had no favorites.

DARKNESS FALLS VS THE SWAT TEAM
Warfare got a 2 count on Jakyll with the Centra Spinebuster. Flatliner tagged in and gained a 1 count on Jakyll with the SHOCK AND AWE. Flatliner would later get a 2 count on Jakyll with the Metal Ramrod. Flatliner with the SHOCK AND AWE again on Jakyll brought Krypt into the ring but Flatliner gave them the Noggin’ Knocker and made the cover on Jakyll and got the 3 count as Warfare made sure Krypt did not make another save.
WINNERS OF THE MATCH: THE SWAT TEAM

Just like in the tournament. I was thinking of starting a pool on when Flatliner would end up killing himself with SHOCK AND AWE.

LANCE AT-LAS VS PAINMASTER
Painmaster executed the FACE-FIRST CRASH and scored a 2 count. Painmaster dropped At-Las with a reverse underhook DDT and just barely missed scoring the 3 count. Painmaster clotheslined At-Las outside the ring but Lance beat the countout. Painmaster followed up with The Torture Rack. At-Las fought back and got a 2 count with the MARS MANHANDLER. Lance followed up with the Nomad Knee Drop and cover and another 2 count. The Atlas World Beater was also good for a 2 count on Painmaster. At-Las followed up with another MARS MANHANDLERS and just missed getting the 3 count. Painmaster then came back and made At-Las submit to The Torture Rack.
WINNER OF THE MATCH: PAINMASTER

“And now I want Paganax!” PainMaster yelled out.

“I don’t give a damn!” I yelled back.

“Give me Paganax or I won’t fight!”

“Okay. Next fight card. You get the night off!”

When will they finally learn that I am in charge?

ACE ESSENCE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
RESURRECTION© W/TRISIS VS THE SPECIALISTS
Scorch just missed getting a 3 count on Cremator with THE TRAILBLAZER. Cremator came back to get a 1 count on Scorch with a neckbreaker. The Specialists regain the advantage and deliver SPECIAL FORCES to Cremator and Scorch makes the cover and again just misses getting the 3 count. Shepard also got a 2 count on Cremator with the Silver Bullet. Scorch tagged in, used THE TRAILBLAZER again on Cremator, made the cover and scored the 3 count as Shepard cut off Corporal Tek.
WINNERS OF THE MATCH AND NEW ACE ESSENCE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE SPECIALISTS

“Yes!” Pariah leaped into the air and applauded for his favorite tag team. I had a chuckle and then a laugh as Murdok futilely ran to the ring too late to change anything.

“I demand a rematch!” Murdok screamed.

“That’s fair. Next fight card! Oh, and that reminds me, Murdok. I am booking you to team with Godsend to face Darkness Falls next fight card.”

Murdok glared at me. I smirked back.

Yes, I had taken notice of Godsend’s absence tonight.

Apparently, so had Murdok.
