Not sure where I could post this..so, I put it here...
I am sorta new to ROH and have only been watching ROH for a few months and have become enveloped in this fed (Saw it live last month and have to say that it IS the best show I have EVER seen)...I watched DVD about Cornette getting tossed out of the fed and that he was blamed for the lack of sales for ROH.
I also watched Cornette's shoot about his experience...the link is here:
Which one do you think is true and which one do you think is full of it?
Just curious

Full disclosure, I am a huge Cornette fan. One of the truly great minds in the business (VASTLY SUPERIOR to whatever the blue heck WWE or TNA calls "creative"). I will side with Cornette on this one. His story is pretty consistent throughout his various shoots.

Like most stories, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

I love Cornette but he's an opinionated, heavy-handed, hothead. Pair that with a company in transition with management that made some bad decisions and you get an explosive combo. It was a bad situation with plenty of blame to go around.
I personally don't like that he purportedly ran off Steen, Generico, and Cabana. Seems foolish but they are also guys who butt heads, which typically doesn't work against management.

I agree, Steen (and by extension Generico) were never going to click with Cornette. Certainly blame lays on all of their shoulders. Cabana's view, is well his view.
Ace is correct in that the timing was bad.

He's mostly right when he talks about management not getting it and their cheapness. He's dead wrong when he tries to say the booking was fine during his run. The booking was terrible and he damaged a lot of the talent with his bad booking. And things he said about Steen have mostly been proven wrong with his NXT run.

He's a guy who has burned bridges every where he's been. Everyone else is wrong, and he's always right? I don't think it works that way. I have little patience for him.

I have a lot of respect for what Cornette has accomplished in wrestling and there's probably some truth to what he's saying but the guy is constantly complaining about his past employers and associates, to the point that he now probably can't get hired anywhere. He's a genius in his own mind and everyone else is inferior, especially the ones who are more successful than he was.

I see that it has been removed. I think like a lot of people, it's a mixed bag and Cornette has always thought he knows more than anyone else.
