According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Destination America has canceled Impact Wrestling. The decision was reportedly made prior to announcing that they would be moving the show from Friday to Wednesday night. Destination America is rumored to have been interested in using the out in their contract that would see all wrestling programs cease at the end of the ‘season,’ which would come at the end of the financial third quarter in September.
It’s said that existing network sponsors allegedly did not want to advertise with the show, and while the ratings were not totally disappointing, they simply haven’t been high enough to justify the cost of production.
Neither Impact Wresting or Destination America has confirmed the report, and our sources within TNA say they specifically have yet to be notified of any cancellation. We will continue to keep you posted as more news becomes available.

Wow...dropped by two networks...and the second a very lower tier network...I don't see much of a future for TNA.

Congrats to Destination America for having the guts to admit they made a mistake, and the smarts to fix the problem by canceling TNA. TNA is a fraud, a failure, and an embarrassment it all other feds everywhere. Good riddance.

It's three networks when you count Fox Sports from back in the day. Advertisers are as leery as ever to advertise on wrestling. I'm no TNA fan but it's still going to put some guys out of work and that's always unfortunate.

I feel bad for the wrestlers and staff. I do not feel bad for the decision makers and whatever they call "creative", as those folks carry the blame on this one.
Hopefully the wrestlers and staff can find new work soon.

I don't want to see any of the hard working wrestlers there lose their jobs but TNA has been very hard to watch over the last few years. I hope they can find work with other promotions. I also blame "creative" and Dixie Carter for letting things get to this point. They could have been a true alternative to WWE but opted to become WWE-lite in many aspects and I think that is why they lost most of their audience. A more ROH or NJPW type approach to presentation, as in opposite of what WWE puts out there for the most part, could have been a better option for them but now we will never know.
As Gorilla Monsoon would say, "stick a fork in him, he's done" and hopefully newer promotions will learn from the mistakes that TNA made. Fox Sports 1, Spike and now Destination America have all given TNA the boot so this may truly be the end for them with no television outlet come September.

I was once a big fan of TNA (they do have a solid roster of wrestlers), but Crue is correct on it being hard to watch and pretty much I barely watch anymore. My new wrestling fix is EVOLVE and some of the WWE and LU. Anyway, this news proves that Dixie Carter should not be running a wrestling company and it's a shame that the quote 2nd fed continues to make mistakes. Anyway, I am so glad to have the FG products and other watching options like EVOLVE...

Destination America looks dumb here to me. Why didn't they talk to advertisers pre TNA deal? Joke they will advertise on a show about a ghost in a shed but not Wrestling.
