HBWA PRESENTS: FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE! (19/06/2015)
(Results)

This week's show features the first round of the TELEVISION TITLE TOURNAMENT as well as fall out from last week's show! Heavyweight Champion Rob Van Dam has the night off, but gets to choose Harley's Race's opponent! Let's get to the action...


'Handsome' Harley Race is in the ring with The Iron Sheik. Last week, Sheik came up short against Van Dam, but Race doesn't seem too concerned and congratulates the Iranian shooter on a job well done. Race says he's ready for Van Dam's mystery opponent tonight, but wonders if anybody would dare face him; "There's no one in the locker room who would want to face me tonight Van Dam. Who is going to risk their career by stepping in the ring with me? I'm not scared of anybody, you bring someone to me and I will demolish them!" Van Dam enters to arena; "Dude, it's real simple. You want my title and you've been playing all these little games to get to me, but it just ain't working. You and Sheiky Baby last week tried a little number that backfired. So this week, I have an idea; why don't I get to fight BOTH of you in a tag match, with a partner of MY choice?! Race and Sheik pace back and forth for a moment. "I think that'll work Van Dam." Exclaims Race, "but you must have forgotten that you have no friends here. We'll meet you in the ring later, but bring it, because this is not going to be easy!" The camera switches to Van Dam who looks as laid back as ever. has he got a surprise for us? I'm sure we'll find out soon...

Match 1. TV Title Tournament: Mad Dog Vachon v Terry Gordy

Mad Dog is accompanied to the ring by Butcher Vachon. This one should be a real barn burner! Mad Dog attacks Gordy from the get go with bites, stomps and eye rakes until Gordy fights back with a huge Bamm Bamm Slam! Mad Dog rolls out of the ring and regains the advantage with a series of foot stomps that lead to back to back pin attempts. Gordy is too string and kicks out of both before reversing a suplex and hitting a running lariant for a pin of his own. Mad Dog kicks out before he is downed again. Gordy has the upper hand before Butcher Vachon enters the ring and attempts to choke Gordy. The referee calls for the bell and awards the match to Gordy, not before he continues to take the double punishment. Gordy advances, but is the damage already done?
Winner: Terry Gordy (Via DQ)

Match 2. TV Title Tournament: Exotic Adrian Street V Mr X

Mr X is a late substitute for The Patriot who was injured at the hands of Street & The Missing Link last week. Street makes quick work of Mr X, who puts up very little resistance. The one sided contest comes to an and when Street hits a flying clothesline, sending X to the concrete floor, unable to beat the ref's count. After the match, The Missing Link appears and hits a flying head butt on the already prone Mr X! A disaster for the masked guy. Adrian Street celebrates with his 'bodyguard' and advances to the next round.
Winner: 'Exotic' Adrian Street

Match 3. TV Title Tournament: 'Leaping' Lanny Poffo V Tiger Mask

Poffo starts the match on the front foot and even hits his Sky Drop finisher, which Tiger Mask kicks out on two. It's a back and forth contest with Poffo hitting a text book cross body block before sending Tiger Mask out of the ring. Tiger Mask hits the awesome Space Flying Tiger Drop, destroying Poffo. He rolls Poffo into the ring and hots a twisting moonsault for the victory. A valiant effort by Poffo, but it's Tiger Mask who advances.
Winner: Tiger Mask


Captain Lou Albano is at ringside. He has a message for Bruiser Brody! "Brody, I promised I'd bring you an opponent for Garageland and I have the man to beat you! To bit you so you will never be the same again! But he's not here tonight. He's making sure he has you covered, but watch you're back! He's been watching you for weeks! See you next Friday Brody, and I will introduce you to your nightmare!"

Will we get a response from Brody? He's not scheduled for action tonight, but here he is! "Albano, I don't believe you have the calibre to recruit anybody in my class. It's not going to happen. If this person does exist, I will destroy him like I have destroyed everybody here in the HBWA so far. I want a match NOW and make it a no disqualification so I can show you and the World what I am capable of doing!"

Oh dear, a terrified George South is pushed through the curtain to face the ever angry Brody. This could be unpleasant....

Match 4. Bruiser Brody V George South

South tries to exit the ring early, but Brody throws him back inside and man handles him with a series stomps, punches and a one handed body slam. Brody goes for the pin, but lifts South's shoulders off the mat continue the punishment. Brody gives South a hard posting, but South manages to lift a knee to halt the oncoming charge. South delivers a stiff kick to Brody's chest, but is brushed aside and slammed to the canvas hard. Brody hits the jumping knee drop and it's all over! The referee could have counted to twenty!
Winner: Bruiser Brody

Match 5. TV Title Tournamnt. Greg 'The Hammer' Valentine V Jim Powers

Valentine is just too good for the valiant Jim Powers and is relentless offence punishes the New Yorker. Valentine gets the clean victory with a shoulder breaker and looks good for it.
Winner: Greg Valentine

Match 6. Harley Race & The Iron Sheik V Rob Van Dam & ??

Sheik and Race wait in the ring as van Dam approaches....alone. "Hey guys, I've got me a tag partner for one night only...let's get hardcore, man!" The crowd pops as Sabu enters the arena accompanied by Bill Alfonso! We have ourselves a main event! Sheik comes to meet an advancing Sabu but his taken off his feet with a drop kick to the knee. The action is back and forth with Sheik hitting a devastating pile driver before the action spills outside. All four men go at it with the referee  losing control. Race blind sides Sabu before Van Dam hits the Van Terminator on Race! The referee calls for the bell, but the action continues as Van Dam frees Sabu from The Iron Sheik's camel clutch, allowing Sabu to put the Iron Sheik in a camel clutch of his own! Fonzie is bouncing around everywhere and the crowd are wild! Race bails from the ring, leaving The Iron Sheik alone. Van Dam hits the Five Star Frog Splash and Sabu hits a Moonsault on the bewildered Sheik. This match never really got going, but is sure to lead to something more spectacular!
Winner: No Contest


As this week's programme goes off air, Rob Van Dam, Sabu and Bill Alfonso celebrate in the ring as the crowd go wild. Race stands at the end of the ramp. He doesn't look a happy man. he has one more week to prepare for his title shot, but it looks like he's losing the war!

I'm enjoying teasing Brody's opponent. At this stage, nobody wants to face him, but there are certainly some monsters out there to take him on....

My girlfriend's FPW roles tonight, so hopefully we'll have some more fun!

I wrote a MASSIVE report for this last night and then my laptop went a bit crazy and I lost most of it! Thankfully some of it saved in a word document, so I will update it later.

We crowned a new TV champion, there was blood, an injury, a mystery guest, a man in a mask dancing and an absolute demolition in the tag division! Man, aren't The Midnight express fun to play with?!

Also, my girlfriend's FPW (FistPumpWrestling) really got rolling last night as 'Nature Boy' Buddy Rogers tried to get revenge on the man who knocked him out of the title tourny, Hillbilly Jim. However, the Country Boy rolled three sixes in a row on his level 3 offence and Rogers was just unable to keep escaping the bear hug. It was unreal! What an upset! Afterwards, Bockwinkel and Rogers beat down Hillbilly and put him out of action. Brutal!

We are loving this game! GIVE ME MORE!!

Looking forward to the update... Gotta love PC problems... I am in the habit of backing stuff up every 30 seconds... And usually on multiple drives... Can't trust this technology business... LOL!

Hope that RVD retains the big prize... And it would be great to see him and Sabu in a rematch against Race and Iron Sheik after what took place on your last show...

Also cool to see Jimmy Jacobs in dark match action... Hopefully, it leads to more appearances for the Zombie Princess...

Looks like business has been picking up in FPW as well... You guys have got some entertaining stuff going on... Nice work!

I wrote up the report last night but will publish later.

The title match had high drama and a cage 'Five Star Frog Splash' which was awesome!

Brody ended up fighting two men (three if you count Albano) and it was the first time he's really faced any offence in my fed, which was fun.

Jacobs was a nice addition. Always been a fan. Can I retain his services? Who knows.

For me though, the star of both our feds is Hillbilly Jim who is now 2-0 against Rogers. Rogers just couldn't put him away and now Bockwinkel is involved, I think Hillbilly is going to require some 'giant' help!

Adrian Street V Tiger Mask



Adrian Street is destroyed by Tiger Mask who, despite interference from both Miss Linda and The Missing Link hits 3 Tiger Suplex on Street who is bombarded with a wicked aerial assault. Tiger Mask advances to the final. An angry Street berates Miss Linda and send his back to the dressing room, screaming that she is no good. He goes to shove her but The Missing Link, brandishing a chair stops him! Street backs down and jumps the barricade in an attempt to disappear in to the crowd.

WINNER: TIGER MASK


Match  3 (TV Title Semi Final)


Greg Valentine V Terry Gordy



A vicious, back and forth battle ends when Gordy hits the Piledriver followed by the Oriental Spike in quick succession. Valentine is unable to kick out and Gordy advances. As Gordy holds his hands in the air in celebration, Valentine rolls from the ring, dejected as if he can’t comprehend what has just happened to him. Gordy advances to final.

WINNER: TERRY GORDY


Match 4


The Midnight Express V The Killer Bees



Jim Cornette introduces his charges to the partisan crowd; “You good folks here I’m going to witness what is known as excellence. My Mama warned me about coming to California and told me I should bring with me my boys, so here they are….’Beautiful’ Bobby Eaton, ‘Sweet’ Stan Lane…The Midnight Express!



Eaton starts off against Blair and takes the early advantage by hitting a nasty looking spinning neck breaker. Sending Blair into the ropes, he delivers a clothesline before hitting the divorce court. Tagging in lane who hits a flap jack and Blair escapes the pin on two. After missing a drop kick, Blair makes the hot tag to Brunzell who is on fire! After hitting a huge drop kick, downing lane, Brunzell scales the turnbuckle to continue the aerial assault. Cornette is up on the apron and the referee is distracted long enough for Eaton to topple Brunzell. The Midnights hit the Rocket Launcher as Cornegtte grabs Blair’s leg, preventing the pin save. The Midnights win and look good…..we have a neam team on the tag roster. Cornette is literally jumping for joy!!

WINNERS: THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS


Bruiser Brody enters the ring to wild cheers. He is viciously swinging his chain, waiting to see who Lou Albano has selected as his ‘mystery’ opponent for tonight’s no DQ match!

“BROOOODDDDY!” Tonight it’s gonna be a….” but Albano’s announcement is broken by loud George Clinton inspired riff over the P.A. Lights flash as the bass pumps through the P.A. Who’s this making his way to the ring? Hips shaking, strutting, head bopping like the Little Red Rooster, a masked wrestler cockily struts to the apron.

“Hey wait a…who are, what? Who is dis?” Albano is confused. Brody is wild with anger. “This ain’t the man I have for you…this, this is an IMPOSTER!”

An irate Brody grabs the mic as the grinding, funky back beat fades from the loud speaker; “You! I don’t care who you are, you’re next!” The masked competitor looks familiar…he’s going to introduce himself; “Slow down Daddy! Mr SexX is here! That’s Mr X with added SEX! I don’t wanna fight you, I’m just here to spread love to all of the HBWA!”

Albano and Brody look at each other completely bemused. “There’s gonna be a match, right?” Brody swings his chain and Albano leaps form the ring over the top rope. The bell sounds and here we go:




Match 5


Bruiser Brody Vs Mr SexX?!


Brody throws (Sex) X into the ropes and crashes him with a running knee. He tosses him form the ring and brutalises him with the chain before throwing him into the steps. Alabno moves out of the way as (Sex) X is thrust into the ring apron. He screams in agony before Brody tosses him back into the ring. Brody hit the jumping knee and covers the lifeless masked man but amazingly, Albano breaks the pin by smashing Brody with a steel chair! Brody barely flinches but the pin is broken. Turning his attention to Albano, Brody hit s a massive backbreaker on Albano followed by a series of stomps. Brody then hits a massive suplex on Albano and he’s down! (Sex) X is on his feet and stuns brody with a knee lift! Brody recovers and hits a huge one handed body slam and (Sex) X Is downed again. Alabano remains dazed, but manages to roll from the ring. Brody hits another jumping knee drop and surveys the ring area before making the one handed cover. (Sex) X is down and not getting up. Brody picks up the victory…but it’s not over Albano has staggered to his feet at ringside and has the microphone in hand; “You dare to lay your hands on me Broooodddyyy?!” THIS MAN is gonna make you pay!”



Winner: Bruiser Brody



Match 6


Bruiser Brody V Nikita Koloff


IVAN KOLOFF jumps Brody from behind and hits him hard with his chain. Koloff immediately goes for the cover but Brody kicks out just before the three. Albano screams at ringside as Koloff goes on the offensive, with a further attack with the chain before brining Brody’s neck over the second rope in a strangle hold. Albano sucker punches the prone big man. Koloff’s violent assault continues and Brody’s forehead is split wide open. Suddenly Koloff attempts to hit an axe handle but Brody moves and hits a big suplex. Koloff is dazed and Brody scoops up his opponent with a one handed choke slam before tossing him outside the ring. Albano scatters whilst Mr (Sex) X is being checked on by paramedics and ringside. Brody returns some chain shots of his own to Koloff’s forehead before rolling him back in the ring and hitting the jumping knee drop. Brody covers but Albano distracts the referee and Koloff escapes the pin. A clothesline and a big boot put the Russian Bear down again and Brody goes for the cover. Amazingly, Koloff kicks out again! A running leg drop followed by another knee drop and Brody goes for another cover. This time the refer counts to three and Brody is victorious. Bloody, but victorious. Albano would like to run for cover, but he’s supposed to be out next with the tag champs.



Winner: Bruiser Brody.

X is a bit of a character, but I feel he may take time to recover from his injuries!!

I was kinda hoping Koloff would beat Brody, but it wasn't to be. I don't think that will be the end of it though. I can see various monsters being brought in by Albano in an attempt to topple Brody.

I will post the card later (supposed to be working!), but the TV title final was pretty special. I really enjoy rolling for both guys. Cage match was great too and certainly there is room for some pay off!
