HBWA PRESENTS: GARAGELAND (results) PART 2
Match 7 The Masked Superstars V The Vachons
The camera pans to show there are some guests in attendance tonight! FPW's #1 contenders for the tag team straps, Jushin 'Thunder' Liger and Antonio Inoki! They'll be interested in the outcome of this one for sure. Before the bell rings, The Vachons storm the ring and assault Masked Superstar II, removing him from the ring apron before amusbushing Masked Superstar I, who starts the match with Butcher Vachon as the referee struggles to maintain some order. The Superstars begin to gain the upper hand with their strength advantage and as soon as MS II has recovered form the initial assault and is tagged in, it becomes very one sided. Butcher is covered, but Mad Dog breaks up the pin, despite Albano's protests. Mad Dog manages to tag in on defense, but even his ruthlessness is no match for the Superstars. Butcher and Mad Dog have only one option; to tag the match to the outside and brawl! It's a tactic that works somewhat but they obviously haven't reckoned with the Superstar's own underhand methods and the melee turns nasty for Butcher and Mad Dog as they are eventually overpowered on the outside. Butcher is slammed onto the concrete but the referee is distracted by Alabano's wailing. With Butcher prone, MS II hits a devastating back breaker and goes for the cover. Mad Dog's interference is cut of by MS I and the champions retain with some dominance.
Winners: The Masked Superstars.
Before the next match, it is announced that both The Iron Sheik and Sabu will be banned from ringside for tonight's main event. We get a word from our champion, Rob Van Dam; "Cage or no cage, Sabu or no Sabu, I'm going to beat Harley Race and keep my title. It's something we can all get behind, so just relax and enjoy the WHOLE F'IN SHOW!.
Match 8
Terry Gordy V Tiger Mask (TV TITLE FINAL)
The referee parades the brand new TV Title belt before the match commences. As the bell sounds, Tiger Masks slips effortlessly away from Gordy and begins a spectacular aerial assault, making Gordy appear almost Zombie like with his movements. Gordy eventually catches Tiger Mask and tosses him from the ring, and continues to assault him outside the ring. Tiger Mask hits a corkscrew dive and stuns Gordy, but is unable to cover for 3.
As the match continues, Tiger Mask begins to rue this missed opportunity as the vicious Terry Gordy takes advantage, brutalising his smaller opponent with a series of power moves. Itβs all too much for Tiger Mask who is unable to recover a Bamm Bamm Slam and back to back piledrivers. Itβs all over and Terry Gordy remains undefeated in the HBWA, but is also the NEW Television Champion!
Winner: Terry Gordy (NEW TELEVISION CHAMPION)
Match 9
Rob Van Dam (C) V Harley Race (Steel Cage)
The steel cage is lowered and both men enter with some confidence. Race is a veteran of such matches, but the champion's high impact style should give him the advantage. The referee checks the cage and the door is shut. Here we go!
Rob Van Dam swipes at Race with a thrust kick and reminds the challenger that he holds the strap. A flurry of kicks and a shoulder breaker have Race down early. Van Dam hits a perfect standing moonsault and continues to work over Race. Van Dam go for the
fireman's carry, but Race is too strong and smashes RVD with a huge suplex. he begins to scale the cage, but instead drops a diving headbut from the second turnbuckle, connecting and leaving RVD reeling on the canvas. Race repeatedly throws Van Dam into the cage and draws blood. Race is enjoying dishing out this punishment and can see the title around his waist already. Race attempts a knee drop but RVD's agility gets him out of the way. VINTAGE RVD as he hits the split legged moonsault from out of nowhere and then smashes 'The Handsome One' with Rolling Thunder! Race is down and RVD scales the cage as quick as a cat! RVD reaches the top and surveys the crowd who are cheering wildly. He reminds us who (or what!) he is once more and the crowd lap it up. race still looks prone, but instead of RVD dropping to the outside for the victory, he readies himself for a FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH from the cage! RVD leaps, but Race lifts a knee and RVD and grounded in a heap! What a mistake! A groggy Race scoops RVD up for a snug piledriver, sending his foe's head straight in to the canvas. That's gotta hurt! Race, still groggy crawls on his hands and knees to the door or the cage. The referee opens the cage and Race tumbles to the outside. WE HAVE A NEW CHAMPION! RVD lies motionless in the middle of the ring, but Race has won clean hear and you have to respect him for that. He did what he said he was going to do. Race is handed the belt and although battered and bruised, he holds it aloft in both hands. Medics check on RVD whilst Harley Race celebrates. Just as the show is about to go off air, another champion appears at the bottom of the ramp, belt aloft. It's TERRY GORDY. He points and Race, with a fixed glare. Race stares him down and the crowd, a little disgruntled are thanked for their attendance.
Winner: Harley Race (New WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION)
