911Wrestling.com Breaking News Coming just hours after it was announced that SPIKE (formerly Spike TV, a subsidiary of Viacom) purchased the Ring of Honor wrestling promotion from Sinclair Broadcast Group, comes the news that ROH is officially no more. Further, after forming partnerships with several of the top independent wrestling promotions in the country, SPIKE will be launching a new promotion exclusive to their network. In the just issued press release they stated that while their last foray into the professional wrestling business was a major disappointment that failed to make the desired "Impact", this time they would not be partnering with a company, but instead running one of their own. They went on to say that each and every Wednesday night Spike would offer an alternative to the Sports Entertainment that fans have grown accustomed to seeing for many years now, and that they would bring the sport of professional wrestling back to the forefront, and allow the athletes to entertain you with their skills, and their desire to be the best. They went on to talk about the absorption of the Ring of Honor promotion, and the partnerships (naming the WWN Live promotions, Chikara, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, and Combat Zone Wrestling by name) allowing them to have the talent and footage that they hoped would allow them to present the best possible product and bring the greatest wrestlers onto your television each and every week. The last part of the press release went on to say that the first several weeks of the promotion would be a 32 man tournament with competitors from the United States, Canada, England, Iran, Scotland, the Netherlands, and South Africa competing to become the inaugural Championship Wrestling SPIKE World Heavyweight Champion.

I've actually been working on this fed for a couple months now, and have already played out a lot of the cards, and written several of the shows. I am doing some last minute editing and tweaking of the shows, and will probably begin posting them tomorrow.
I have gotten to a point where I felt it was time to start posting what I have, because I am torn as to whether to continue with the write up style I've been doing, or to go a totally separate direction. I also feel that the need to drastically cut my roster is coming, so I want to see who people are in too, before I start making cuts!

911Wrestling.com Report Championship Wrestling SPIKE Week 1 The show opens with a panning shot of the capacity crowd in attendance for the first Championship Wrestling SPIKE tapings. The camera swings down to show us the ring, the ramp connecting the ring to the stage, and the stage showcasing the big screen and the CWS logo. We are then taken to the announce team who welcome us to the show, and inform us that since this isn't sports entertainment, we are going straight to the first match!!1) Ricochet vs PJ Black {CWS World Heavyweight Title Tournament} Championship Wrestling SPIKE came out of the gate with a match that set the internet on fire and most likely blew casual viewers away. Black proved that he wasted in a sports entertainment environment, and Ricochet showed the world what a lot of people have known for a long time. This was balls to the wall action from start to finish that saw both men defying gravity. Black survived Chocolate Rain twice, and turned the tide after Ricochet crashed and burned on a 630 attempt that brought the crowd to their feet. Black took over the match and while Ricochet was able to kick out of the first 450, minutes later the former Gabriel connected with a picture perfect 450, skipped the cover and blasted him with another one to secure the victory and advance in the tournament. Winner, advancing to Round 2: PJ Black2) Johnny Gargano vs Christopher Daniels {CWS World Heavyweight Title Tournament} Another fantastic match that saw Christopher Daniels show that despite his age he is still one of the all around best wrestlers on the planet. But more than that it served the purpose of introducing Johnny Gargano to a nationwide audience that saw him take a beating and kick out of everything thrown his way. Daniels controlled the majority of the match, but Gargano was always there with a counter and able to match him hold for hold in the early going. Once Daniels took over, Gargano kicked out of the BME and the Angel's Wings, before catching Daniels with a swinging reverse STO from out of nowhere and cradling him for the shock pinfall. Winner, advancing to Round 2: Johnny GarganoWe are taken backstage where Silas Young is in the interview area. He announces himself as "The Last Real Man in Professional Wrestling" and goes on to run down 2 Cold Scorpio as a relic of the past, and declares his intentions to use the legend of 2 Cold Scorpio to build the legacy of Silas Young.3) 2 Cold Scorpio vs Silas Young {CWS World Heavyweight Title Tournament} While not a bad match, it certainly didn't stand up when compared with what came before it. If they had shaved five minutes off, it would have probably been the better for it. Both men were quite even for the majority of the match. Young connected with two particularly brutal looking lariats that drew ooh's from the crowd in attendance. Scorpio despite being nearly 50 years old still fly's more gracefully than men half his age. Silas kicked out of a Scorpio Splash on 2 and nine tenths, and everyone bought the near fall. The end looked a bit awkward as Young appeared to tweak his ankle, quickly ate a side kick, and another Scorpio Splash for the pinfall. Winner, advancing to Round 2: 2 Cold Scorpio4) Frankie Kazarian vs AJ Styles {CWS World Heavyweight Title Tournament} Kazarian came into this match with something to prove, since most people were expecting Styles to walk all over him en route to the second round. This was a much closer battle than anyone anticipated, with Kazarian scoring several near falls, including one that drew a "that was 3" chant after he connected with Back to the Future. Styles wasn't a push over by any means, nearly decapitating Frankie with a Phenomenal DDT, and nearly tapping him out to the Calf Killer on two occasions. The match ended when an exhausted Styles blasted Kazarian with a Pele kick that he never saw coming and covered him for the three count. Winner, advancing to Round 2: AJ Styles

What a kickoff to your opening tournament... Was very happily to see The Phenomenal One advance... And the Darewolf vs. Ricochet would've been a sight to behold...
Should've done this BEFORE your started posting results, but here are my hopefuls (not to be confused with actual predictions) to make it to round two...
Homicide Gargano (OK, so he's already there.) Galloway J. Briscoe Hero Cage Trent? Styles (Would've been no doubt here.) End Black OR Ricochet could've moved on and I would've been happy... Superb work by the Darewolf! Busick Thatcher Sydal OR Strong... Again, I'll be pleased regardless... Just hoping for a great match... Sabre Jr. Young (I know... Too late... He's already gone.) Aries
Your match summaries are top notch... Definitely got my attention... Great work!

911Wrestling.com Report Championship Wrestling SPIKE Week 2 The show opens backstage with a man familiar to many wrestling fans, Sheik Daivari swearing that he would bring home the Championship Wrestling Spike Title and bring down the American regime that has controlled the sport of professional wrestling for far too long. He ended the interview waving the flag of Iran, and speaking angrily in Persian.1) Chris Hero vs Tommaso Ciampa {CWS World Heavyweight Title Tournament} This was an absolute brutal war from the moment the bell rang. Ciampa and Hero laid into each other with chops, elbows, and knee strikes the likes of which haven't been seen on mainstream wrestling in some time. They were both nearly disqualified during a wild brawl on the floor that saw Ciampa whipped into and over a guard rail. Hero also hit Ciampa with an elbow strike that drew an audible groan from the crowd as they momentarily thought Ciampa was unconscious or dead. The end came on a scary moment when Hero was knocked legitimately unconscious on a Ciampa running knee strike into the corner, and the referee stopped the contest. Hero ended up being helped to the back, and reports are that he is fine. Winner, advancing to Round 2: Tommaso CiampaWe go backstage again where Adam Cole introduces himself to the viewers of Championship Wrestling SPIKE and informs them that he is the future of the wrestling business, and that if they stay tuned, they will see the first CWS World Heavyweight Champion, and his name....is ADAM COLE BAY BAY!!2) Biff Busick vs Sheik Daivari {CWS World Heavyweight Title Tournament} Well, Busick tried his hardest here, but while he was attempting to have a good wrestling match, Daivari was attempting sports entertainment. The ending came on the old Guerrero toss your opponent the foreign object, and act like your unconscious to draw the disqualification gimmick. The fans booed the shit out of this, and rightfully so. Hopefully whoever is in charge realizes this is bad booking heat and not heel heat. Busick deserves better. Winner, advancing to Round 2: Sheik DaivariA video package showcasing highlights of Trent Barretta, Colt Cabana, Tommy End, Cedric Alexander, Drew Gulak, Zack Sabre Jr, Drew Galloway, and AR Fox, the 8 men competing next week is shown.3) Adam Cole vs Homicide {CWS World Heavyweight Title Tournament} Damn. Homicide is a guy who has shown in the past that when he wants to be, he can compete on a level that most can only dream of. Tonight he decided to blow the dust off his working boots and alongside one of the hottest young talents in the world, they brought the house down. Twenty five sold minutes (likely making up for the opener being cut short) of bell to bell action that shockingly ended with Homicide ducking an Adam Cole superkick, and destroying him with the Gringo Killer before covering him for the one, two, three. Not sure about the choice for the winner, but wow, what a match. Winner, advancing to Round 2: Homicide4) Austin Aries vs Kyle O'Reilly {CWS World Heavyweight Title Tournament} Another fantastic outing from two world class athletes. Aries controlled early, resorting to cheating whenever the superior grappling of O'Reilly started to manifest itself. Eventually O'Reilly would take over and rock Aries with strikes and tie him up in submissions, which led to Aries retaliating with a series of high impact moves. Momentum continued to switch back and forth over the next ten minutes with both men scoring several near falls. The end came at the twenty one minute mark when Aries hoisted O'Reilly up for his patented Brainbuster, but Kyle fired several knees into the head of Aries, got his footing, plowed Aries with a brainbuster of his own, and then hooked the ARMageddon for the tap out victory. Winner, advancing to Round 2: Kyle O'Reilly
