GWF - The Code is Broken (2087-2092)

After Thantos broke the Galactic Code, the entire industy was thrown into complete disarray.

No longer welcome in the countless venues that used to play host, the Galaxian Wrestling Federation was forced to find a new home. It materialized in the form of a roving space station known as The Matrix Theater.

This is where it begins.



The new incarnation of the GWF will be given a trial run with its first season. A prolific intergalactic production company has placed an initial order for thirteen episodes. Upon their request, the first season will be a round robin tournament to decide the top contenders for the GWF Universal and Universal Tag Team Championships. Once the top three singles and tag team contenders have been determined, they will be placed in miniature tournaments to take place on the season finale. The number one ranked competitors will receive byes into the final round.

However, the proposed show schedule was just about to begin when Commander Sam was the victim of a heinous assault outside the theater. Although he claimed that he was still healthy enough to compete, medical staff would not grant him clearance for insurance purposes. Therefore, the championship committee went on the hunt for a replacement. Their search did not take long. In a press conference held immediately before the inaugural show, the final competitor was officially entered into the tournament.

Comrade Terror vs. Wolf
Comrade Terror defeated Wolf with an ATOMIC WARHEAD at 3:00
Match Rating: 1.50
Match Notes: Wolf started strong, but quickly threw Terror outside the ring. Terror avoided disqualification after ramming Wolf into a steel corner post. Wolf survived getting nailed by the ATOMIC WARHEAD twice, but a third put him down to stay.

Exo-King vs. Star Warrior
Star Warrior defeated Exo-King with a Running Star Blast at 12:42
Match Rating: 2.50
Match Notes: Plenty of back and forth action, but both competitors had a difficult time hitting more than one big move at a time. Warrior finally scored the win, as Exo-King was an instant too late kicking out of a pinning predicament. Death Knight accompanied Exo-King to the ring, but Omega was in his son's corner to prevent any interference.

Massif vs. Thantos
Thantos defeated Massif with a disqualification at 3:04
Match Rating: 1.50
Match Notes: Massif was impressive on offense, but allowed his anger to get the best of him. He refused to heed the ref's warnings about brawling outside the ring and was disqualified as a result. The fans were not pleased.

Invincible Krakan vs. Lord Nexus
Lord Nexus defeated Invincible Krakan with a dropkick off turnbuckle at 4:53
Match Rating: 2.50
Match Notes: After being on the defensive for most of the match, Nexus landed a lucky shot to pick up the win over his nemesis.

Awesome first show...glad to see more people using the classics. Curious how long it will take before we find out the mystery assailant. Also, fun to see Terror beat Wolf. Terror tends to be one of the most underrated wrestlers from those early years.

Appreciate the kind words very much... I also have a New Beginnings fed which I have been running for awhile, but I wanted to have a chance to use all the great characters created by Filsinger Games...

I was kinda surprised that Terror beat Wolf... But, nowhere near as surprised as I was with the results I'm about to post...

Killer Queen defeated Pulsar with a CHECKMATE at 3:51
Match Rating: 2.00
Match Notes: Pulsar attempted a high risk maneuver, but Killer Queen recovered in time to throw him to the canvas. Vanity prevented Viper from making the save, as Pulsar was forced to tap out.

Gladiators of Aethra vs. Neptunian Space Croppers
Beast-Rider defeated Massacre with a Cropper Slam at 5:26
Match Rating: 3.00
Match Notes: What an upset! Renegade looked to be in trouble, but was able to turn things around on Massacre outside the ring. A quick tag to Beast-Rider led to a shocking pinfall moments later.

Executioner and Ghengis Khan vs. The Greek Gods
Ghengis Khan defeated Actagon with a disqualification at 16:19
Match Rating: 4.00
Match Notes: Expert teamwork by Actagon and Proteus nearly led to an unopposed victory. Khan broke up a near pinfall on Executioner and fortunes suddenly reversed. It seemed like the match could go either way when all four competitors started brawling outside the ring. Actagon inadvertantly struck the ref and the Greeks were disqualified.

Great matches. Can't believe the Gladiators lost to the Space Croppers, I've had it happen myself but it's always the shock.

My first time playing the early days of the GWF in well over 20 years... Could not believe how the matches went in the first round of the tag tourney... Having a blast though...

Lord Nexus defeated Exo-King with a TITAN DROP at 1:47
Match Rating: 1.00
Match Notes: Exo-King made the mistake of trying to overwhelm his opponent at the opening bell. Nexus countered the direct assault and took his opponent down for a quick three count.

Invincible Krakan vs. Wolf
Invincible Krakan defeated Wolf with a school boy roll-up at 9:31
Match Rating: 3.00
Match Notes: Wolf had his opponent lined up for the SAVAGE FACE CLAW, but Ghengis Khan intervened. After swatting the intruder off the apron, Wolf missed a turnbuckle charge which enabled Krakan to roll him up for a cheap victory.

Comrade Terror vs. Thantos
Comrade Terror defeated Thantos with a Comrade Neck Clutch at 10:23
Match Rating: 3.50
Match Notes: Thantos told his lead henchman to bring it and he did just that! After a ferocious exchange that spilled out to the floor, Terror rammed the Gamemaster's head into a steel corner post and busted him open. The ref was forced to halt the match soon thereafter, as Thantos was too weak from blood loss to continue.

Star Warrior defeated Massif with a NOVA LAUNCH at 6:55
Match Rating: 2.50
Match Notes: Star Warrior emerged triumphant in a display of stellar athletic ability. Following the bout, Massif shook his friend's hand and raised his arm to the cheers of the crowd.

Executioner and Ghengis Khan vs. Gladiators of Aethra
Ghengis Khan defeated Massacre with a small package at 14:11
Match Rating: 3.50
Match Notes: The Gladiators effectively cut the ring in half, preventing Executioner from making a much needed tag, but failed to capitalize on their opportunities. Becoming impatient, Massacre tried to end the match with a diving cross body. Khan rolled through the attempt and hooked the Aethran's leg for a three count.

Pit Viper and Pulsar vs. The Greek Gods
Proteus defeated Pulsar with an OVERHEAD TOSS at 19:15
Match Rating: 5.00
Match Notes: Superb performances turned in by all four competitors! Several times, Actagon almost had the GRECIAN SLEEPER GRIP locked in, but both Titans showed impressive tenacity in finding ways to escape the hold. After claiming a well deserved victory, The Greek Gods gave nods of respect to their exhausted opponents.

Killer Queen and Vanity vs. Neptunian Space Croppers
Vanity defeated Beast-Rider with a PULVERIZER at 0:46
Match Rating: 1.00
Match Notes: A blindside prior to the opening bell led to an easy victory for Killer Queen and Vanity. Too late to make the save, Renegade went berserk and chased the two scoundrels to the backstage area.

Great setup! Great action! I'll keep paying my money to come see the GWF in 2087!

The Gladiators are not doing well so far...neither is Wolf. Still time for them to turn it around.

Comrade Terror has two great upsets over Wolf and Thantos. Star Warrior is also doing well!

Killer Queen and Vanity tagging together remind me if you put Goldust and HBK (early 90s version) together in a team.
