I've heard Arrow is definitely worth watching. I was born a DC fan, I'll die a DC fan though I've enjoyed a lot of Marvel over the years too (and both companies have done enough to make me want to quit them a few times.)

I think Gotham and Arrow were on Netflix streaming. Exactly what I was about to point out. The Flash has also been added recently. To me, Arrow and The Flash are OK. I tried watching Gotham but couldn't make it through the first episode. Maybe I'll give it another shot but there are a lot of other shows that I'm interested in a LOT more.

Went with DC because the only comics I read are published under their Vertigo imprint...
Favorites: Sandman, Preacher, American Vampire, 100 Bullets, Y - The Last Man, Hellblazer and Fables.
Oh yeah... And I also read The Walking Dead, of course.
As far as movies go, I would personally give the nod to DC because The Dark Knight trilogy was just that good. I find the new era of Marvel movies entertaining, but I feel they are not as strong from a story-telling perspective as I'd like them to be... If not for the glorious visual effects, I'm not sure I'd be much of a fan...

DC, always have been always will be. DC truly started the whole comics as movies trend with Superman. Batman and Superman were also two of the first, if not the first two comics to get turned into television shows. What really hurt DC when it came to movies is WB giving directors way too much freedom (see Batman Forever & Batman and Robin) Marvel has finally started to find a grove with there movies, but like Pariah said above me, Marvel seems more about style than substance when it comes to their movies. I'm hoping that trend changes as we approach the end of current wave with the Infinity Guantlet movies. Sadly at the moment DC is where Marvel was in the early 90's as the first run Batman Movies were being made. DC is starting turn the focus onto their lesser known characters as movie projects while Superman & Batman (their flagship characters) are kinda of being put on the back burner toward the build up to Justice League. Sure Batman v Superman is coming out soon, the more I hear about that movie the more it is starting to sound like a launching point for the DC Cinematic universe. As for the comics, the only Marvel line I really got into was the Ultimate Universe, and I think I was the only person on the planet that enjoyed the 90's Spider-Man clone saga. I've loved Batman since I was a kid and I think I'll continue that love until the day I die.

The Daredevil TV series... IMO, some truly exceptional writing, acting and production efforts... I thoroughly enjoyed how they depicted Matt's inner struggles and the conflict between him and Stick... All too often heroes turn into anti-heroes and I was happy to see this character maintain his moral high ground... Also, the manner in which they developed Fisk's character was truly exceptional... I can only hope that this dedication to strong story-telling continues when Netflix tackles its future Marvel endeavors.

I was born a DC fan, I'll die a DC fan though I've enjoyed a lot of Marvel over the years too First TV shows I can remember watching were the Adam West Batman television series and the Monkees. As a child, I was a Batman fanatic and as a middle-aged man of 44, I still am! Plus, the Joker is the single, greatest villain ever, with an ever so slight edge over Darth Vader. The DC Universe animated films are not to be missed, especially Under The Red Hood & Assault On Arkham. Like Troy said, I've also enjoyed ALOT of Marvel stuff too.
