GWF Supercard Showcase
Hosted by Dragonmaster, Vidtek, and Louden Noxious
Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the Supercard Showcase. I am Dragonmaster, here as always with GWF star Vidtek and longtime GWF fan and ring announcer, Louden Noxious. We are just mere moments away from War Games, and this is geared up to be one of the biggest we've ever had.
No doubt. Eight big Specialty Matches, with six of them being for six of the seven championships in the GWF, and Champions of the Galaxy is a month away!
Definitely a big deal having almost every title be defended just before every title is set to be defended next Supercard. However, a lot of these title matches are long-running issues that need to be settled here tonight.
I couldn't say it any better, Louden. And since you brought up these long-running issues, let's start with one that has been around since Deimos Perennial.
This, to me, is the second most personal feud going on right now, and I'll definitely bring up what's first when we get to it.
I think I know what you are referring to, Vidtek. In any case, these two met at Deimos Perennial, where Drury won the Interplanetary Championship under dubious circumstances.
Drury used his signature illegal move, Flaunt the Law, right in front of the referee, leading to most people saying that it was one of Drury's planted refs.
And others, especially Vanity, feel that the referee was just being very lenient, which I do not believe, personally. Anyway, Havoc got a rematch at Galactic Warfare in a Fight the Power Match. Unfortunately, Drury brought out one of his old tricks, the Iron Hand suit, to retain the title yet again.
And to say that management was far from happy about that is the understatement of the century.
The Board of Directors wanted Havoc to have one more chance at the title, but Drury decided to make Havoc hop over one more hurdle by facing Ensor in a #1 Contender's Match, which Havoc won.
Despite how dodgy that move is for Drury to try to avoid the Aethran wrath of Havoc, I can commend him for at least acknowledging Ensor defeating him at MegaTournament. However, win or lose, Havoc should have had another shot at the title due to his antics. In any case, Havoc won, but Drury continues his antics by not only making this a Last Chance Match, but he is introducing a Specialty that nobody but him has heard of.
Didn't you get a fax about that from Drury?
Why, yes Louden. Thank you for reminding me. Drury faxed me the information about the match to share with the fans. The match, known as a Turnbuckle Shock Match, will take place inside of a special six-sided ring where the turnbuckles are electrified. The match is won by pinfall or submission, and anything goes. It is said that Oracle found this match all the way in the year 3000.
This entire thing is a recipe for disaster for Drury. He's backing an Aethran into a corner, and you do NOT do that, lest you want to get hurt.
I agree, but this is a big theme of the night, and we'll get to that later.
Right. now, onto the next match.
During the King of the Cosmos MegaTournament, Tristan shocked everyone by eliminating Patch in the first round.
Everyone in the Infinity Challenge locker room was shocked too. Trust me, everyone, Abroz and Dialectas alike, were surprised at what just happened.
Though there wasn't anyone as surprised, or even outraged, about this result as Patch, and he let this be known during our Culture Clash show during the Intergalactic Culture Festival, where he attacked the Titan from behind backstage before his Cruiserweight Championship rematch against Panther Warrior.
And with the Overmaster putting Rush in his place, I think this is part aggression, part elaborate power play by the Commissioners.
Regardless, Patch was very vocal about Tristan beating him during an interview with you, Louden. Not only saying that he isn't on his level, but challenging him to a Milky Way Falls Count Anywhere Match here tonight so he can prove that he can beat Tristan anywhere, from inside the ring to the hallway to even the concession stand.
This match is definitely set to be violent for the Heavy Metal crown, which is right at home on this show.
Especially since the Heavy Metal Championship is tied to the history of the old War Games Championship all the way back in the 2090s.
Precisely.
The formation of the Legends of the Ring supergroup has gotten under the skin of the self-proclaimed Crown Jewel of the GWF, Encubus.
ESPECIALLY with the inclusion of that doppelganger Thantos.
That seems to be the basis of this feud between him and the Hardcore Titan, and this match was just made after Encubus' match with Hector, after Payback put him through a table with EXVENGE.
Due to Payback's actions, this match was decided to be a Mensa Tables Match.
I have to say, Encubus really needs to step up, if he is really not afraid of this new Thantos.
I completely agree. Constantly dodging this challenge by this Thantos is making everyone feel that he's afraid of the embarrassment to his name if he were to lose.
But first, he needs to step up to this challenge by Payback, who has been egging Encubus on about this for the last few weeks.
Shouldn't be too hard. Last time they met, Payback lost in seconds.
But this match is a Payback specialty, so this may be a steeper hill to climb for Encubus.
Making a huge splash in the GWF, the newcomer tag team of The Ultimate Fighters claimed the Tag Team Championships on Aethra during the Gladiator Games.
Seriously, if you were to look up "shocker" in the new Galactic Dictionary, you'll see a picture of the final 3-count at Gladiator Games.
Being on the planet, I can confirm that there was definitely a lot of tension in the arena, and there was nearly a riot.
Yeesh.
The duo, along with their manager, Dark Menace, celebrated their title win at Culture Clash, where they challenge the Gladiators to a rematch in another new match: The Ultimate Fight Match.
The rules of this match are simple: It takes place inside of a new Cosmic Cage, and to win, you must either knock out either of your opponents or make one of them submit.
Yet another example of the Gladiators being out of their element, but this may very well be for the good of the company.
You are, of course, referring to my interview with the Dark Menace, am I right?
Yeah. Good stuff, by the way.
Thank you. What Vidtek is referring to is that the GWF Board of Directors are seemingly siding with Menace's Covert Operations against the forces led by Sly Drury and the Aethran Overmaster.
It seems like the GWF Board see Covert Operations as a more capable defense force than the Federation Defense Fighters.
Of course. Covert Operations don't screw around. They're the kind to punch first and ask questions later, and that's what the powers that be feel they need to keep the Co-Commissioners in line.
As a Titan, I cannot condone their actions. However, I understand wanting to keep those two in line.
THIS is that match I think is the most personal.
This is definitely among the more personal feuds for a title tonight.
I agree. To set up, Paganax has been on a tear since joining the GWF roster, defending that Holovision Championship night in and night out, even defending his title against the two challengers in this match tonight.
This whole thing started at Gladiator Games, where Paganax defeated Endgame in the final singles match in the tournament, shocking everyone by leaving Endgame completely scoreless in the tournament, despite being the favorite.
Paganax would then defend the Holovision Championship against Anivar at Culture Clash, albeit by DQ.
In my first weekly interview, Endgame says that he wants to dethrone the Heathen Chief of his Holovision Championship, which did NOT sit well with the Enforcer.
After Endgame announced his intentions, Anivar challenged Paganax to a Hardcore Titan Death Match for tonight at War Games, which also didn't set well for Endgame.
Paganax decided that he could take both of them on, so he accepted both of their challenges, even making it a Triple Threat Hardcore Titan Death Match.
He even took it one step further by challenging both Endgame and Anivar to one-on-one title matches in the last two weeks before tonight, and he beat both of them.
Before all this, Anivar promised that him and his Sleeper Cell would help Paganax keep the title so Anivar himself could dethrone him. Do either of you think Sleeper Cell will get involved?
Uh, yeah. It's Hardcore Titan Death rules. Anything goes.
I definitely agree with Vidtek. Sleeper Cell, along with this type of match, could be the edge Anivar needs to step up to these two giants of the GWF.
At the Gladiator Games, these two teams definitely under-performed, and in the match between them, Frontal Assault defeated Demon Bloodlust, though by disqualification via DEMON'S BREATH, leaving them scoreless.
That definitely didn't sit well with those two freaks of nature.
Precisely. At Culture Clash, after Zygon defeated Coven Black in one-on-one competition, a distraction by Nosfera led to Zygon getting busted open by a steel chair shot by Coven Black.
These mind games would continue after an Infinity Challenge match on Holovision episode 10, Zygon would be on the receiving end of a Blood Bath by Demon Bloodlust, which would prompt Thraxx later in the night to challenge Coven Black, which Black won.
On the next show, Coven Black laid down the challenge to Frontal Assault for a tag team First Blood Match, which was accepted, and here we are now.
You know, if the Guardians Tag Team Classic wasn't happening, you could say this match could have Tag Team title implications.
It still could. The tournament will just decide who is next in line. Whoever wins this match could have their names thrown into the hat of top contenders after the tournament is over.
If Black and Nosfera can keep getting into the heads of Frontal Assault, then they could definitely be top contenders in no time.
But Frontal Assault are two tough nuts to crack. This'll definitely be a big uphill battle for this new team.
Definitely.
Sultana was able to settle her rivalry with Strafe on Aethra in a Spear Match in the Showcase Showdown Match for the Double Tournament Weekend.
At Infinity Complex, Shann-Ra faced off with Deadlest to not only decide the #1 Contender to the Women's Championship, but also decide the Specialty Match, which of course, Shann-Ra won.
Taking advantage of this, Shann-Ra and Abroz chose a Hunter's Prey Match for tonight.
A smart choice by the challenger. Choosing a Specialty Match that she has experience in. Though, if Sultana's match with Strafe is any indication, she can definitely adapt to any style if it means holding onto that championship.
But Shann-Ra has been on the prowl, and she wants to put that championship back on her mantle, and I think she can do it.
Well, I'm not counting either woman out here.
I can see both of your points on this. And now, we move on to our main event.
Last month, we had our Double Tournament Weekend, where, along with our regularly scheduled MegaTournament Supercard, we also had the out-of-nowhere announcement of the the Aethran Overmaster's Gladiator Games tournament on Aethra.
Panther Warrior went on to great success at MegaTournament, winning the King of the Cosmos crown by last eliminating Payback. Overmaster didn't see the same kind of success, coming in second to the Singles Division of the Gladiator Games to Encubus, meaning he had to defend the Heavyweight Championship against the Crown Jewel at MegaTournament.
Which he did, and here we are now.
After the tournaments, Overmaster got one over on his challenger by costing him the Cruiserweight Championship by replacing the injured Tristan with Rush.
That didn't deter Panther Warrior, though, as during his coronation, a challenge was made between Paralyze and Swarm, where the winning manager chose the Specialty for their match here tonight.
Swarm would get the win, and Panther Warrior chose one of the most sadistic Specialty Matches to come into the GWF: The Torture Chamber Match.
Which some say isn't a smart choice.
I like to think of it this way: Who was it that introduced the Torture Chamber to the GWF?
Wolf.
Correct. This match brought out the savage, animalistic instincts of Wolf in his feud with Bounty Hunter. Panther Warrior is hoping to channel those same instincts to become the Heavyweight Champion.
But there's a difference between hoping to do it and actually DOING it. The big question here: Can he get it done?
We'll just have to wait and see. If last Holovision was any indication, then he can certainly step up to the challenge of the champion after pinning him in the main event tag team match. Now, before we move on to the official Supercard, we have our usual Showcase Showdown Match: an Andromeda Collar Match between Malkuth and Plethador.

VS.
Malkuth vs. Plethador
The Match: The two AniMen are connected to the collar by their necks, and the match is underway! Malkuth's animal ferocity proved to be too much for the water-based AniMan, especially after only a few minutes in, Plethador started to suffer from dehydration. Despite VERY short bursts of offense, Plethaor could not get the better of Malkuth, who picked up the win, and some closure in his aggression against the Infinity Challenge
Result: Malkuth defeats Plethador with the Animal Death Dive
Completed Moves: 21 out of 31
