Day of the Dead
03.18.2120 from Temple of Gods, Antilia N/A
- The Unrefusable Offer -
After Ring of Fire, Murdok made a surprising challenge to Tekaro - "Fight me at Day of the Dead, and in return I'll hold the event at your sacred Temple of Gods where you can see the fate of your so called King!"
It didn't take long for Tekaro to accept the challenge but others weren't so gung-ho about the news.
"I'm fine with the match as long as he does not have to defend the tag titles as well" said Nicodemus. The other three corners quickly weighed in saying the tag titles will absolutely be defended.
"If he wants to fight me that bad, he can wrestle two matches in one night, that is if he survives" grinned Murdok. "Or you can have a one night substitute, I'll allow it."
Paganax voted against this saying "Darkness Falls prepared for NuBorn Destruction, not a makeshift tag team."
Nicodemus voted no as well leaving it all on Aegis.
"I vote yes, either he pulls double duty, or a substitute." Nicodemus was livid at this. Adding insult to injury Aegis added "It's a shame when a vote doesn't go your way, isn't it Nicodemus?"
- What We See -
For the first time ever we are on Antilia for a card during the day. Hover Cruisers took the three teams deep into the heart of Antilia to get to the Temple of Gods. Beautiful temples and statues adorn this abandoned city, making it heartbreaking to know what once was. You can see the society that once thrived here in the buildings left behind. A ring sits in the center of the temple square with Murdok's followers sitting on rows of steps and standing anywhere they can. Inconspicuously a large curtain hangs in front of a wall ruin towards the back of the square.
It should be noted Trisis is not in attendance tonight.
Exodus vs. Holocaust
Holocaust defeated Exodus with SHOCK WAVE at 11:27
Match Rating: 3.25
In a match both men desperately needed to win, Holocaust comes out on top. Both men missed their unique finishers early, a little too eager to get the W. As they settled into the match they put on their best performances to date. A highlight was the incredible thunder clap that sent the undead running when Exodus hit WRAITH OF GOD for the first time. Both men come out of this match looking good.
Avarice vs. Nemean
Avarice defeated Nemean with 7th SIN at 5:01
Match Rating: 0.10
Avarice challenged Nemean feeling that the young Ravager was mocking him by carrying the CWF title he "lost" to Lance At-Las. (Nemean picked up the discarded belt after Deus Ex Machina and has kept it as a memento)
The Blackheart was more aggressive in this match than ever before. Not letting Nemean get a breath, Avarice hit all of his signature moves and then some. Grabbing a mic Avarice spoke.
"You dead morons don't know how lucky you are! I'm Avarice! I'm the greatest wrestler alive! These savages think they can beat me with chairs and throw away my property! They have another thing coming!"
Avarice blasted Nemean in the face with the CWF belt for good measure knocking him out cold. Before leaving he dropped a black rose on the unconscious upstart.
- What Goes Around... -
Nicodemus approaches Ventross who - as usual - is by himself warming up.
"Ventross, I need you to tag with Warfare tonight to make sure the tag titles stay with the Ravagers."
Ventross was angry.
"So I wasn't good enough to tag with Warfare at Upheaval but I am now? No thanks, I've got Paganax to worry about."
"Actually you don't. I've cancelled that match. Your commitment to this team is being tested, Ventross. Make sure the titles stay with us, and I'll give you Paganax on our card."
The Specialists vs. Living Dead
Scorch defeated Noxious with a Centra Spinebuster at 1:02
Match Rating: 0.00
It only took four moves for The Specialists to end this one (Anti-virus, sommersalt leg drop, super chop and Centra Spinebuster). Cremator had no time to even react and try to make a save! The Specialists didn't look like a team that just lost their titles, rather they were cool, calm and collected knowing what had to be done to be in a position to win back what is theirs.
Hybrid vs. General Rankor
Hybrid defeated General Rankor with POISON DRIVER at 7:12
Match Rating: 2.75
Hybrid just went on a non-stop assault! Rankor couldn't catch his breath for a second as anything he did Hybrid brushed off and pounded the General. Rankor hung in the match for a while until the fight moved outside the ring where Hybrid managed to push over a pillar-ruin onto Rankor's back! From there a POISON DRIVER finished off the traitorous Ravager, surely putting a smile on the face of Nicodemus.
- Ruins of Antilia -
Gheist vs. Hustler
Gheist defeated Hustler with SOUL SLAYER at 12:38
Match Rating: 3.25
A hardcore battle that was stolen from Hustler. The mean man from the streets of Centrapolis was right at home in this match hitting a nasty curb jaw and almost winning the match early. Gheist escaped and tried to climb up a wall ruin but Hustler was right there with him knocking him off with a Side Effect. Sycophant and PainMaster saw the writing on the ruin wall and decided to take matters into their own hands beating down Hustler. Still in the end it took 3 SOUL SLAYERS for Gheist to steal this victory.
Light Brigade vs. Sycophant & Master
Sycophant the Deviant defeated Aspin Northstar with Masochist's Hangman at 9:35
Match Rating: 3.00
The match started off with Lance At-Las and PainMaster punching each other in the face with no regards to actual wrestling moves or rules! At-Las eventually got the better and Light Brigade settled into a nice groove. A rookie mistake by Aspin put S & M in the driverseat.
At-Las did save his partner from being pinned twice, not wanting to lose this match for a lesson learned. This led to an all out brawl between the four men with PainMaster and At-Las falling to the outside. Lance got the best of this exchange again but didn't get to relish it; out of no where he was knocked unconscious by Avarice and his CWF belt! Back in the ring Northstar missed a FLASH OF BRILLIANCE and Sycophant capitalized with Masochist's Hangman for the win.
Nicodemus vs. Flatliner
Nicodemus defeated Flatliner with a Charging Lariat at 13:58
Match Rating: 4.00
Nicodemus' goal of keeping Flatliner out of a title match may have succeeded with this hard fought win. Surprisingly, Flatliner wrestled the smarter match several times egging an emotional Nicodemus on letting him take several shots and then hitting back harder. Nicodemus survived a SHOCK AND AWE which turned the tide in his favor. Still, Flatliner amazing kicked out of NUCLEAR WINTER and two spinebusters before falling to the lariat.
- Long Live The King -
Murdok makes his way to the ring first to his loyal subjects approval. He grabs a mic and stalks the ring waiting for Tekaro. As the NuBorn Warrior makes his way to the ring to a loud chorus of boos, Murdok speaks.
"Hold it right there, Tek. I generously brought you home, to the Temple of Gods, so you can find out the fate of your King. Well behold, traitor!"
At that Murdok held out his hand to the curtain draping the wall. Cremator and Noxious pulled the curtain down to reveal a mummified corpse arms outstretched shackled, crown hanging on the top of his head! With a sick grin Murdok looks at Tekaro.
"Long live the King!"
Murdok vs. Tekaro
Tekaro defeated Murdok with RING OF DESTRUCTION at 19:16
Match Rating: 4.25
Murdok's plan backfires! Upon seeing the man he dedicated his life to protecting strung up like a common criminal, Tekaro lost it. He hit the ring with a fury not seen before bashing Murdok over and over with his shield! The match was almost over from the start as Murdok barely got his shoulder up after a handful of turnbuckle rams. The Master of the Plague settled things down giving Tekaro the beating of his life. The NuBorn Warrior would not be denied on this day turning things around outside the ring and hitting his RING OF DESTRUCTION for the upset of the year. A huge embarrassment for Murdok and the crowd of the dead is livid!
- aCe Tag Team Championship -
Ventross and Warfare vs. Darkness Falls
Krypt defeated Ventross with a Death Valley Driver at 8:45
Match Rating: 3.25
Jakyll tried the unfortunate approach of pounding on Warfare to little or no effect. Warfare brushed these off and started spamming BIG PAYBACK'S like a beast incarnate- Jakyll managed to kick out of three in a row, the last with help from Krypt. Warfare and Ventross' team work was as fluid as it was in Mass Destruction, that is until the match left the ring. Making his mark on Day of the Dead, Avarice returns for the third time tonight cold clocking Ventross with his CWF title! Warfare chased him from ringside as Jakyll hit a death valley driver stealing one from the Ravagers! New tag team champs!
- aCe Championship -
Aegis vs. Godsend
Godsend defeated Aegis with HELL'S THRESHOLD at 5:35
Match Rating: 2.00
A surprisingly fast match that sees Godsend back on top of the aCe! Aegis started off well enough, his new more aggressive offense had Godsend reeling. Close pin falls after the BattleGear Body Press and inverted DDT had Aegis confident he could put this away early. That changed when Aegis attempted a high cross body from the top turnbuckle that Godsend countered by jumping up and reversing it into a slamming pin combination! HELL'S THRESHOLD put Aegis down and we have a new aCe champion!
The volatile crowd (still upset at the Murdok loss) erupted as Godsend claims the title again. Godsend immediately grabs the belt and starts chanting something at it, repeating the words over and over. The blue skies turn red as The Devil's Apprentice holds the Essence.
Overall Card Rating: 2.59
