I'm not too knowledgeable on the characters as I haven't really played the app. I'm aware of a lot of the names though. I presume Dude Brohan is the Hulk Hogan parody and Buzzsaw is a parody of the Ultimate Warrior? No idea about Ace Arcadium, who is he loosely based on? I struggle on a few of the guys to know if they are parodies of actual 80s characters that we know or not - feel I should know being a child of the 80s. Does anyone know who the Piranha and Cobalt Commander are nods to? Although I was a huge Ultimate Warrior fan I think I'd prefer to get Dude Brohan. I get very influenced by the names, I think Dude Brohan is a really cool name whist Buzzsaw (if he is Warrior based) not so much. It's pretty exciting though. Some cracking matches ahead! I think once a 3rd pack gets released things will get much better fleshed out for a decent size fed, hopefully plenty of feuds and a few tag team combos. Dangerzone would be a great addition so he can pair up with Warhawk. I can see the American Heroes being the top tag team. Buzzsaw and Lazer in their tag team incarnation are more nods to the Blade Runners, if that helps more with placing the reasons for the names. |

Ah thanks guys, Maybe some of it goes over my head because I am in the UK but I guess a lot of it must of just passed me by!

Buzzsaw and the Warrior(both alter egos of Jim Hellwig) have not much in common.Look at some matches from the Blade Runners in UWF.
I think we will get Dude Brohan.

Ah thanks guys, Maybe some of it goes over my head because I am in the UK but I guess a lot of it must of just passed me by! I could easily see it being the UK thing, as almost all of the characters are American icons of the 80's. Cobra Commander from GI Joe is pretty well known here, but I can see the "Great American Hero" show not being a big deal for the Brits. |

G.I. Joe had a pretty good run in the U.K. really, it eventually supplanted Action Force there. Still, I could see it being easy to miss, and unless you played Pro Wrestling, you'd have no idea who Amazon and Star Man are.

I think GI Joe was reasonably well known in the UK but I never played it. And I never heard of pro wrestling. Unfortunately my child hood was dominated when I got into the commodore computers and obsessed with football. It took me til late 1989 to discover this amazing thing I heard about at school called American Wrestling and I was hooked. But I don't watch wrestling anymore, I don't like the product or characters. My only link is I still love GWF! And now this, even though I don't get the links on quite a few characters I love the concept. I can't wait to build up a roster (24 minimum) and get started.
I reckon (and hope) Dude Brohan too. Pack 3 can't come soon enough, would like to see Buzzsaw, Pelvis Pressley, Pop King, Haka Tonga and a couple of tag teams
