ROH today announced that NJPW's Toru Yano will be at this weekend's shows
The stars of Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling will share the stage in the Fight Capital of the World when The Best Wrestling on the Planet returns to Las Vegas Aug. 19th and 20th for Death Before Dishonor XIV. NJPW will be represented by their top competitors at both Friday’s pay-per-view and Saturday's national TV taping. The next NJPW star confirmed for that weekend’s huge events is Toru Yano. A 14-year veteran of NJPW, Yano will be making his first appearance on an ROH card in the United States. Yano has a well-deserved reputation for breaking the rules, but NJPW fans find his in-ring style and mannerisms to be quite entertaining. A two-time co-holder of the IWGP Tag Team Championship, Yano teamed with The Briscoe Brothers to become the first NEVER Openweight 6-Men Tag Team Champions earlier this year. Yano and The Briscoes later became the first team to regain that title. Check back with ROHwrestling.com for more big announcements regarding which NJPW stars will be appearing in Las Vegas. Hmmm, seeing this, maybe I'll try to join you. I'll have shows both nights, but not until 9 so I could at least come for an hour or so. I'll see what's up once we get settled in Vegas.

With NJPW coming to town, tickets for the PPV and tapings will sell well. And Sam's Town is a great venue for TV tapings. By far the best place ROH goes to for taping TV.
And you can never go wrong with the Briscoes. Jay is by far the best promo guy in wrestling right now. Period. (sorry Bray Wyatt, but your nonsensical promos and substandard wrestling leaves you well behind the extremely believable Briscoe).

I'm struggling to understand why they want to charge $45 for this card and not Field of Honor which actually has interesting matches

I'm struggling to understand why they want to charge $45 for this card and not Field of Honor which actually has interesting matches I'm guessing that it's because DBD is a traditional PPV available through cable providers etc. and FoH, to my knowledge, is not.

My point was that between the two, Field of Honor's card is the one that belongs on a PPV for $45 whereas DBD looks like a lame VOD/DVD release.
