My 80s Mania Fed

I reported my tournament results on another thread but thought I'd start my own ongoing results reporting. Hopefully I can stay active playing it. Plan is to run 48 cards per game year. At least one title defence each month. 6 - 8 matches per card. PPV every 12 cards. Every card will feature either one out the available interviewers, skits or vignettes (apart from PPV).

Card 1 – HEAVYWEIGHT BELT TOURNAMENT – Fairgrounds:

(Just before the card officially goes on air Commissioner Codger is featured in a segment sitting behind his desk with the 80s Mania logo proudly displaying behind him. He rambles on a bit before explaining to all the fans that a 16-man tournament will be held in order to crown a new Heavyweight Champion! His image then fades and is replaced by a cool graphic showing the brackets for the opening rounds. None of the wrestlers knew who they would be drawn against until this very moment)

Opening Round:

Ace Arcadium beat Tennis Pro with CHEAT CODE in a thrilling match. There was so much action. Ace accidentally knocked the ref out attempting a move off the turnbuckle. In that time the ref missed GAME OVER and TENNIS RACKET SMASH. Tennis Pro was seriously pissed but continued to serve up some big moves that had Ace and his fanbase worried. Luckily in the end Ace prevailed but will need to take less risks if he wants to go all the way. This isn’t an arcade machine he is playing now.

Warhawk defeated Skullgore by DQ in a short match. The creepy Skullgore shows no interest in wrestling inside the ring and keeps dragging the action outside for a brawl. Warhawk being the type that he is obliges and goes after Skullgore but meets the thick end of a chair. The ref won’t stand for it and immediately calls for the bell. Neither is interested in waiting for the announcers decision as they continue grappling with eachother before other wrestlers come out and help security restore order. One fan hands Warhawk the American flag so he can wipe the blood away from his face.

Mighty Leo is too strong for the Piranha. Uses a series of Cat Splashes followed by THUNDERSTRIKE to send him packing.

Jet Set Strutter stutters to victory against Rad Racer. Rad Racer is charged up and feeling the crowd as he takes it to Strutter. He even stuns Strutter with TAIL WHIP but cannot get the upset win. Strutter even when he is not at his best can pull victories out of nowhere and this is exactly what he did tonight. He arrogantly announced later in the evening during a small promo that tomorrow he is going for a belt fitting and needs a closer inspection of the gold so he can order some new matching suits.

Lazer overcomes Johnny Kobra with LAZERLOCK. Johnny showed a stubborn resistance but in the end the big crowd pleaser won through. The Neon Clad Warrior certainly made the most colourful entrance of the night and many of kids in the crowd had the faces painted to match him.

Star Boy defeats Cobalt Commander and even survives POISON POWDER. “Honest” Al pokes fun in his match summary as he wonders how Cobalt Commander could possibly think he is going ‘Take Over The World’ when he cannot get past the first round of a wrestling tournament. Hardly the stuff of total domination.

Hammerhead knocked Arizona Chance out with SOVIET SLEDGE. Poor Arizona was on the end of the 2000 psi punch three times during a long and bloody battle. The big Russian can sure take some punishment as he withstood an incredible opening salvo and picked himself up after LAST CRUSADE threatened to send him back to Mother Russia early.

Bug Buster creates a massive upset as he squashes Dark Invader like a bug and uses EXTERMINATION. Big embarrassment for Dark Invader after such a memorable journey to the ring surrounded by fog. It’s easily the most one-sided battle of the round. The crowd absolutely loves it. Dark Invader is furious and claims he felt a disturbance in the aftermath of the match. Is it a co-incidence that Ace Arcadium had showed up in the front row of the crowd during the bout for a closer look at potential future opponents? Ace also wanted to check out Dark Invader in detail as it seems like he could become a natural feud enemy over the coming shows.


Card 2 – HEAVYWEIGHT BELT TOURNAMENT – Fairgrounds:

Added Attraction, Arizona Chance beat the Piranha by DQ. Arizona says “I’ve dealt with snakes and critters on my adventures, the Piranha poses no threat. He’s a fish out of water”. Trouble was a couple of painful Piranha Bite’s slowed him down and he was lucky to get away with a DQ win. Fans were chanting ‘Rematch, Rematch’

Second Round:

Ace Arcadium beats Warhawk with CHEAT CODE. Warhawk plays the heel and uses some borderline legal moves. Ace high fives fans on his way but is met at the end of the runway by Dark Invader urging Ace to give in to his feelings “Join me and I will show you the Shadow Side”. Ace pauses before catching Dark Invader unaware with a windmill punch to send him sprawling. The fans go wild. We have the beginnings of the first big feud.

Mighty Leo defeats Jet Set Strutter by DQ. Two favourites drawn together. How cruel to lose one before the final rounds. Strutter tries every trick in the book for an advantage and the ref soon grows tired of his antics. After repeated warnings he opts to DQ him. It’s an unpopular decision. Although Strutter is a heel many fans secretly root for him such is his talent and style.

Star Boy eliminates Lazer. The two fan favourites start by shaking hands but Lazer shows he can be nasty inside the ring. Star Boy uses Luchador skills to turn the tide in his favour and nails Lazer with a SOMERSAULT KICK. Lazer is stunned long enough for Star Boy to pin him. No comments after as “Honest” Al tries to grab an interview. The youngster refuses to talk.

Hammerhead leaves Bug Buster seeing stars as SOVIET SLEDGE nearly takes his head off. Hammerhead making a surprise march towards the final. He’ll be favoured to beat Star Boy in his next match up.

Third Round:

Mighty Leo makes the championship match beating Ace Arcadium by DQ decision. Both looking unstoppable to this point and proved very evenly matched in this one until several heels decide to show up and ruin the match. Skullgore, Dark Invader and Cobalt Commander all make an appearance amid deafening boos from the small crowd. They start menacingly circling the ring. Ace cannot resist trying to take them on and knocks the ref flying as he dives outside. Security quickly intervenes as the heels start to overwhelm Ace. Leo then decides to join the battle causing them to back off. The heels have stumbled badly but will be looking to fightback in future cards and they were clearly sending a message ‘Don’t Mess With Us’ with tonight’s attack.

Hammerhead wins through to the final over Star Boy. His punching power is too much for Star Boy who gets levelled with SOVIET SLEDGE. Hammerhead has been carrying the heel flag through the latter stages but it’s clear he prefers to carry the Russian flag as he waves it proudly in the ring. Rumblings that Warhawk is sick of seeing it displayed and wants to do something about it;

Final:

Hammerhead defeats Mighty Leo to become the Heavyweight champ. Epic battle with much blood split. Hammerhead started strong and battered Leo with ferocious punches but Leo clung on despite being hit with both SOVIET SLEDGE and RUSSIAN SICKLE. Showing tremendous spirit Leo fought back and savaged Hammerhead using Giant Paw Swipes and Lion’s Claw to cut the Russian open. Hammerhead’s turn to show similar powers of endurance to hang on and even got his foot on the ropes after THUNDERSTRIKE. It looked only to be a matter of time before Leo finished him but then everything changed. Leo set up a charge into the buckle but Hammerhead moved and Leo ended in a heap outside. Hammerhead dragged the badly hurt Leo into the ring and summoning the last bit of strength left picked him up for a devastating choke slam from which there was no recovering. Hammerhead was proclaimed winner and handed the belt. Within hours Warhawk issued a challenge promising to rescue the belt from ‘Dirty Russian Hands’.


Card 3 – Weekend Wrasslin’ – Banquet Hall:

(“Honest” Al interview segment – Jet Set Strutter – Al suggests to Strutter that he didn’t live up to expectations in the tournament. Strutter grows increasingly irritated by Al as he is more concerned with showing the crowd what a great talker he is and how he has more style in his little finger than the rest of the roster put together. Al rudely interupts by asking Strutter why he thinks style is so important which is the final straw. Strutter grabs Al’s cap and throws it on the ground before wiping his feet on it, he then gets Al by the collar and starts finger pointing at him for showing a lack of respect. Mighty Leo is running a wave of popularity in the fed comes out to assist Al. Strutter says “This ain’t none of your business buddy” but Leo insists when a man is threatened just for doing his job then it is his business. Strutter issues a challenge “How about we go settle this in the ring tonight?” and Leo obliges. Drama!)

Heavyweight champ, Hammerhead beats Warhawk after slamming into him with a move from the top turnbuckle. Hammerhead towered over Warhawk as they met in the centre of the ring before the bell. In broken English he is heard to mutter ‘I Must Break You’. Such was the level of domination that there are accusations that Hammerhead is being helped by performance enhancing drugs. Warhawk was tells the doctor attending to his wounds that those punches felt unnatural. The cold war is far from over, it’s only just begun.

Lazer defeats Cobalt Commander in a classic battle after LAZERLOCK. Cobalt Commander nearly won this match after starting in dominant fashion but Lazer showed why he is considered one of the main eventers as he cameback strong.

Mighty Leo again wins against Jet Set Strutter by DQ. Hold onto your hats folks as this feud is breaking out. After the dramatic interview segment earlier there was a lot of heat on this one. Strutter was the master of taking the steam out of the match by going outside. Just as it looked as if Leo was gaining too much momentum Strutter played for the DQ. He’d rather lose in this manner than get pinned. In his own arrogant mind he is still unbeaten because nobody has put his shoulders on the mat for a three count.

Arizona Chance beats Tennis Pro in a classic bout. Arizona Chance made much of the running but Tennis Pro used cheapshots and downright shoddy tactics to turn it round and give himself an edge. It looks bad for Arizona Chance as Tennis Pro slams down on him with TENNIS RACKET SMASH but the referee refuses to count after an illegal move. Tennis Pro goes crazy and berates the ref which allows Arizona Chance to recover. He uses his whip to grab the racket out of Tennis Pro’s hand as his back is turned and take him down from behind. He then nimbly scales to the top buckle and dumps a fistdrop on Tennis Pro’s head for the pin. Arizona then tosses his headband into the crowd.

Ace Arcadium wins a long battle against Johnny Kobra. Ace hobbled to the ring still injured after the previous heel attack and seemed to struggle. His reflexes weren’t quite so good as CHEAT CODE didn’t do as much damage as hoped and Johnny Kobra was able to kick out. Ace seemed to be a bit unhappy with himself but he eventually overcame his injury to use GAME OVER and beat Johnny.

Dark Invader pulverizes Rad Racer. The early attacks and risk taking of Rad Racer rattled the Dark One early on but it always seemed inevitable that he would be caught and pummelled eventually. Basking in victory on the runway Dark Invader appeared to manhandle fans who tease him about the ‘Shadow Side’. Commissioner Codger immediately comes on air after to reprimand Dark Invader “Our fans who come to the matches should never feel threatened. Therefore as a warning to all wrestlers I have decided to suspend Dark Invader for 3 fight cards”.


Card 4 –Saturday Night Superstars – High School Gym:

(Vignette with Hammerhead – The Russian champ introduces himself as Mikhail Molotok and wants to show that all foreigners are puny and weak. "I am champion. Nobody can defeat me. Tonight I will arm wrestle anybody". Quick as a flash "Honest" Al enters mic in hand "How about it folks?" and ten fans volunteer. Hammerhead takes them all on. One after the other he destroys them and is about to leave when a voice is heard "Hold on, give me a chance". A muscular guy in a cap and shades hustles his way to the front. Security lets him over the barrier as Hammerhead grins "I defeat one more, then is over". The man shocks Hammerhead by removing his disguise. It's Warhawk. The tension is unbearable as they square up, everyone expects a brawl but Hammerhead slowly, without averting his gaze, takes a seat and offers his arm. Warhawk works the crowd before taking a seat and they lock arms. A ref enters and explains after a count of three the arm wrestle will begin. He reaches two when Hammerhead smashes Warhawk's arm down and gets up celebrating. Warhawk wasn't ready and sees red. He tips over the table and goes to attack but security is primed and flood the ring to keep them apart. Crazy scenes)

Ace Arcadium and Skullgore wrestled to a double DQ after a brawl. Skullgore was one of the guys that had attacked Ace. This ended perfectly to keep the feud bubbling. Ace said "I am disappointed CHEAT CODE was foiled again. Maybe I am going for the move too early. At least I showed Skullgore I am ready to play him at his own game. If he wants an outside brawl I'll give it to him. I will work through all the guys that tried to injure me. When I'm done with Skullgore I am coming after Cobalt Commander and I'll keep beating them til I meet Dark Invader. It's like an arcade game and I plan on completing it".

Cobalt Commander crushes Rad Racer using COBALT CLUTCH to notch a simple win. Rad Racer made an exciting entrance on his BMX doing tricks on the runway but Cobalt Commander attacked him as he attempted a showboating stunt. Rad Racer got knocked off and hurt himself leaving him in bad condition. To make things worse his bike was also damaged and will need to be repaired. He seemed to get respect from the crowd for having the heart to carry on despite what happened.

Lazer gets the better of Tennis Pro finishing with LAZERLOCK (+4). Tt's far from a walk in the park. Tennis Pro came out like a man possessed but his weakness was he was unable to mix it up outside. Lazer is building a cult following. He is a bit rough round the edges but seems to be getting over with the fans.

The Piranha defeated Arizona Chance in the match of the night. This was a rematch from their last meeting. Both accumulating five tokens by the end which tells its own story. Arizona Chance used LAST CRUSADE three times but the Piranha evaded being pinned. The momentum was with one and then the other countless times. Even OUTLAW CHOKE wasn't a winning move. It looked for all the world as if the match was heading for a time limit draw but the Piranha suddenly latched on with a Piranha Bite which brought Arizona to his knees. The Piranha collapsed ontop of him for the three count. The entertainment was so good that surely they will be booked to wrestle again.

Star Boy hands Jet Set Strutter his first pin loss after SOMERSAULT KICK. Strutter has complained to the Commissioner's office claiming the ref was corrupt after making a fast count. Strutter knows deep down Star Boy wiped the floor with him tonight and he needs to start delivering to back up his bragging.

Johnny Kobra got the better of Bug Buster battling back after nearly losing to EXTERMINATION. Bug Buster got caught with a knee to the groin and as he doubled up in pain Johnny came up behind with a roll up. Smart thinking.


80s MANIA WRESTLING SUMMARY (AFTER CARDS 1 - 4)

Heavyweight Champ: Hammerhead
Top Contender: Lazer

80s Mania Wrestling is here. Fans across the globe are looking forward to watching all the action featuring these colourful characters. The federation is under the watchful eye of Commissioner Codger but he better be careful. If he puts out a bad product there are plenty of other guys looking to remove him from office. Codger’s first move was to schedule a tournament to crown the first Heavyweight champ which was won by Hammerhead. Since then a couple of shows have been aired and there never seems to be a bad match. The excitement levels have been very high.

Some observations from the first few shows. Tennis Pro is very underrated. The guy is a maniac and although he has lost three in a row his matches have been great with a really unpredictable feel. He seems to be good at irritating the crowd which is always good for ratings. It's very early but Hammerhead is the big surprise using his punching power and endurance to compensate for limited ring skills and grab the belt (although rumours circulate that he is being helped with performance enhancing pills and drinks which are on the banned list). Both Ace Arcadium and Mighty Leo have looked very strong and are getting biggest pop from the crowds. Lazer and Warhawk also pretty over with the fans. Lazer is currently the top contender to the belt and will get a title shot on card #6 inside the Golden Plaza. Dark Invader has disappointed struggling to deal with two curtain jerkers in his early matches. Jet Set Strutter has stumbled, guess he will be a slow burner but wrestling 'experts' expect to see him dominating the belt at some stage. He is just full of charisma and a favourite character among many of the fans despite being a heel.

Breakout feuds are already building and getting solid heat, Dark Invader-Ace Arcadium, Hammerhead-Warhawk (obviously), Jet Set Strutter-Mighty Leo (offbeat feud). The interview spots are proving popular as it feels like plenty of spontaneous feuds could develop. Speaking of Dark Invader, he has already caused seismic waves in the fed. He seems to be stalking Ace Arcadium and his rantings about the ‘Shadow Side’ led him into direct confrontation with fans and he ended up being suspended from action. Commissioner Codger has been painted as a loveable but somewhat dithering fool but when it comes to fan safety he showed he is not afraid to dish out the punishment. He moved quickly to suspend Dark Invader from action for 3 cards.

Several managers are rumoured to be moving in on the 80s mania scene. Princess Starbright, Mr. Bonsai, Prof. Gigawatt, Valley Girl Valerie, Big Boss, Jr and the Gargoyle are making their moves to manage wrestlers to success and have been seen attending cards. At the moment no managers are assigned to any wrestlers but that is sure to change. Plenty of negotiations are going on in the background.

So let’s see what else is coming up. The weekly shows ‘Saturday Night Superstars’ and ‘Weekend Wrasslin’ will continue to run featuring several matches, interviews with “Honest” Al and Rex Spectrum plus promos and vignettes as well as the odd big PPV event. The SUPER DUPER SHOW (this is the big one) and BEACH BRAWL are already added into the wrestling calendar with hopefully a couple more before the year is out. It’s a chance to meet all the wrestlers and various other characters that will be entertaining you.

Card 5 – Weekend Wrasslin’ – The Ballroom:

(Filmed Segment – Scenes shown during the show from Hammerhead's base as part of a Russian propaganda video. Gym routine, questionable drinks cocktails being consumed before he pounds on a machine measuring the pressure of his punches. There are two pictures of wrestlers displayed in the background, Lazer and Warhawk, as a source of motivation for Hammerhead to train longer and harder)

(Dramatic Promo – Bug Buster – Gets a fantastic reception as he comes down to the ring accompanied by a really catchy theme tune "I ain't afraid of no bugs". Bug Buster is loving the attention he fires up his insect repellent gun which shoots glitter into the air. What a show. He then climbs over the barriers to meet with the fans, starts pointing at the cameras and claims to be a man of the people. Tennis Pro watching the segment on a monitor back in the locker room flips out "Nobody is more of a showman than me. I'll show them". He comes out and jumps the barrier and tries to get a bigger pop but when he sees that the fans only have eyes for Bug Buster he reacts angrily. Tennis Pro grabs his racket and starts serving balls at Bug Buster but fans swarm him and wrestle the racket from his grasp. It gets smashed up whilst Bug Buster engages Tennis Pro and fights him off. Super entertaining stuff)

Jet Set Strutter completely outwrestles Star Boy in a demonstation of mat mastery. Star Boy was unable to repeat his massive underdog heroics of the previous card. Strutter celebrates by arrogantly 'strutting' down the runway. Parts of crowd packed into the Gym are cheering as he continues to divide opinion. Big Boss, Jr showed up ringside during the match. Unclear whose corner he is in but he creates a nuisance of himself and fans are disgusted by cigar puffing and the fumes. At the end he then pats Strutter on the back to end the debate on who he has signed with.

Ace Arcadium beats Skullgore with CHEAT CODE. Skullgore didn’t know what hit him as Ace dazzled with electrifying moves.

The Piranha defeated Arizona Chance with OUTLAW CHOKE. It didn’t match the drama of their last meeting but it was still a gruelling tussle. Will Arizona now admit defeat in this feud and move onto another adventure? He is determined to go after the main belt but needs to win matches like this “The Heavyweight belt is one treasure that won’t elude me. If I win it I will donate it to the museum”.

Mighty Leo humiliates Tennis Pro in three moves. Sets the record for fastest match in the fed’s short history. Tennis Pro came straight after Leo and tried to slam him but didn’t have enough power and collapsed. Leo went straight for a Big Cat Splash and followed it with THUNDERSTRIKE to get the pin. Tennis Pro recovers quickly and throws a tantrum smashing his replacement racket on the floor over a fast count by the ref shouting “You are delirious!” It capped a bad night for him. Tennis Pro then trash talks with fans leaving the ring. This man could start an argument in an empty room.

Johnny Kobra wins a thriller over Lazer with LEG SWEEP. Lazer was warming up for his big title match and looked in total command to start. Johnny managed to evade LAZERLOCK by raking Lazer’s eyes to escape the hold but was soon busted open on the back of a ferocious pummelling. Lazer then seemed to tire and Johnny used LEG SWEEP several times with the move eventually yielding victory. Lazer picked up an injury which will hamper him when he challenges for the belt.

Warhawk wins over Cobalt Commander by DQ. Cobalt Commander is another guy Warhawk feels a great deal of animosity to. He calls him a mix between a Terrorist and an evil dictator. He dominates the match but can’t put Cobalt Commander away even after FIRST BLOOD. Cobalt Commander later scuttles to the outside. As Warhawk slides under the rope to pursue he gets grabbed and hurled into the ringside table. Warhawk is clutching his shoulder in the aftermath.


Card 6 – Saturday Night Superstars – Golden Plaza:

(Rex Spectrum interview segment – Warhawk – Flashy setup on display with monitors stacked up. The crowd is impressed by the new age robotic interview system. The American Hero comes out to great fanfare waving the Red, White and Blue but immediately grows agitated when Rex fails to show up on screen due to technical difficulties. When Rex finally shows up the interview seems to go badly for Warhawk. He struggles to get his message across and Rex wonders whether he is taking on too much going after both Hammerhead and Cobalt Commander. He reminds Warhawk that he lost a Championship match and also got beaten in an arm wrestle challenge. How can he be expected to beat a guy who is punching machine and one who is a criminal mastermind? Warhawk’s blood is boiling and Rex can see this so he changes his tune and tells his guest to calm down claiming “it’s just light hearted banter” but Warhawk is frustrated by Rex and knocks over his monitor before leaving the set! Rex refuses to invite him back on for at least 2 shows)

Heavyweight champ, Hammerhead swats away the challenge of Lazer. Before the match Lazer says he will show everyone that Hammerhead is not a machine. However, once inside the ring it doesn't look good for him as he struggles with injury sustained on the previous card and is unable to rattle Hammerhead. He does get brief hope as he finds a weak spot and nails the big Russian with a low blow but it’s not enough to do lasting damage. Hammerhead’s legendary endurance enables to get the better of Lazer. He follows up SOVIET SLEDGE with a brain rattling KO Punch to win. He could of asked for a ten count and still won after that punch.

No DQ match – Jet Set Strutter overcomes Mighty Leo in the blow off to this feud. Strutter offers a test of strength to start. Leo is hesitant but after playing with the crowd for their opinion he does so. Strutter quickly kicks him in the gut in a sneaky move. The move is typical of the guy. Leo is riled and starts to maul Strutter and completely dominates the entire match unleashing everything he has got. Strutter is begging for mercy as Leo goes for the kill and hits THUNDERSTRIKE. Strutter somehow, perhaps instinctively, kicks out but is now bleeding badly (6 tokens). Leo is scratching his head over how he has failed to win this match so far and goes for a whip into the ropes but they both take eachother out with a clothesline. The ref comes in and starts counting them both but Strutter starts to recover. He crawls over to Leo (who is now starting to move himself) and slaps on the SIX-FIGURE LEGLOCK. Leo is in excruciating pain as Strutter uses rope leverage. He submits almost immediately wanting to avoid damage to his leg. It’s an astonishing outcome considering the level of domination Leo showed.

Ace Arcadium is too hot for Cobalt Commander to handle. Pins him following GAME OVER.

Bug Buster overcomes Tennis Pro with EXTERMINATION. Willed by the crowd and perhaps wanting some revenge for Tennis Pro trying to ruin his big moment on the last card Bug Buster keeps the hold locked in. Tennis Pro cries to be released. The ref eventually convinces Bug Buster to let go but Tennis Pro has hurt his back and needs medical assistance. Commissioner Codger turns a blind eye. Codger was overheard a couple days later dining with friends that Tennis Pro had it coming. Bit unprofessional but most seem to agree with him.

Star Boy wins against the Piranha by DQ. He didn’t deserve the win and had to survive OUTLAW CHOKE twice but then the Piranha lost control of his senses and went mad on the outside. Star Boy has been close to getting a title shot but his recent form has been damaging to him.

Rad Racer beats Johnny Kobra to taste victory for the first time thanks to TAIL WHIP. After Johnny’s amazing win on the last card he was expected to coast to victory but this shows wrestling’s unpredictability.


Card 7 – Weekend Wrasslin’ – Empire Gardens:

(“Honest” Al interview segment – Dark Invader – With his suspension finished Dark Invader is back and is the focus of Al’s next interview. Dark Invader doesn’t wait to be questioned, he grabs the mic and says that capturing the belt is his way of ‘Conquering The Galaxy’. He has words for Ace Arcadium too “Soon you will have to confront me. Join the Shadow Side and we can create an Empire ready to dominate 80s Mania Wrestling”. He then says he plans to be at ringside as Skullgore and Cobalt Commander (calling themselves the Masterminds) take on the superstar tag duo of Ace Arcadium and Mighty Leo on the next card. Al explains to the Dark Invader that Ace and Leo have become friends and want to team up occasionally to battle the bad guys in special scenarios. “Do you really think there is anything you can do to stop a team like that?” Dark Invader reacts by picking up Al in a choke lift “Never question me. I am the most powerful individual in the galaxy. You are a weak minded fool for asking such things”. Poor Al is visibly distressed but quick as a flash Ace Arcadium makes a run in. Al is released from the hold as Ace tears into Dark Invader and takes him down with a flying tackle. With the element of surprise on his side Ace gets the better of Dark Invader and leaves him in a heap on the ground)

Non-Title Match, Hammerhead obliterates Bug Buster using SOVIET SLEDGE as he romps to victory in under a minute. Hammerhead taunts the crowd over ‘Yet Another Weak American’.

Jet Set Strutter overcame Lazer thanks to SIX-FIGURE LEGLOCK. There was stunned silence as Lazer comes out for the match black and blue. Lazer does all he can to get through the match but is outwitted by Strutter. Big Boss, Jr also played a pivotal role laying the boot into Lazer each time he was thrown out of the ring. It later emerged that hired goons beat up Lazer prior to the match but their identities were unknown. Did Big Boss, Jr pay them off? There are also strong suspicions that this could be the handywork of the Masterminds. Commissioner Codger is powerless to act without any evidence.

Warhawk goes wild against Cobalt Commander for a fast win. Cobalt Commander didn’t know what hit him and had no answer as Warhawk put him through the mat with FIRST BLOOD.

Skullgore inflicts more misery on Arizona Chance pinning him in a matter of minutes. Poor Arizona cannot seem to buy a win at the moment.

Star Boy wins an exciting match over the Piranha but suffers a venomous attack as the ref raises his arm. The Piranha either doesn’t think the match is over or doesn’t want it to be. Latches on Star Boy with the Piranha Bite and having taken the youngster down applies OUTLAW CHOKE until the ref and some other ringside personnel are able to pull the Piranha off. Star Boy is stretchered away from the scene. Throughout the remainder of the card bulletins are issue on his condition. Not as bad as first thought but at least a month to fully heal up based on initial reports. Looks like the Piranha will escape suspension based on a loophole that he didn’t realise the match was over. Wonder who it is helping the Piranha and pulling the strings behind the scenes, a manager perhaps?

Johnny Kobra defeated Rad Racer. After a classic battle on the last card these two meet again. Rad Racer is full of confidence and is pulling tricks inside the ring as well as on his new BMX bike. Although when he goes for TAIL WHIP and fails to close out the match it evidently has an effect. Johnny seizes the initiative and injures Rad Racer’s knee with LEG SWEEP for the win. Rad Racer is pretty upset as the injury has forced him to pull out of Stunt Competition tomorrow afternoon. It’s still over a month away but Rad Racer has issued the first challenge for the forthcoming SUPER DUPER SHOW. Johnny says “Bring it on. I’ll beat you at the biggest show of the year and I might just have a surprise in store”.


Card 8 – Saturday Night Superstars – Chitown Complex:

(Tonight’s show looks more like an accident and emergency episode than a wrestling show. Many stars are carrying injuries and suffering ailments)

(Vignette – Arizona Chance – Posedown and Tricks. Arizona makes a dramatic entrance swinging into the ring on a rope. He is carrying a bag of artefacts with him and takes these out placing an object on top of each turnbuckle. Using outstanding co-ordination he winds up his whip from the centre of the ring and manages to wrap it round each item. The show gets rudely interrupted as Cobalt Commander makes his way down “I’m tired of watching your tricks. I intend to take all these treasures back to Cobalt Island with me tonight”. Arizona Chance jumps down to the floor “Sure, if you can beat me in a posedown then you can have them”. The crowd goes wild as they both strike their poses. Arizona gets the bigger pop and is declared the winner so Cobalt Commander attacks and they start to battle their way to the back)

Heavyweight champ, Hammerhead successfully defends against Star Boy. This was supposed to be Star Boy’s big moment but the Piranha’s attack on the last card appeared to of put paid to that. Although Star Boy was expected to be in no condition to put up a decent fight he stunned everyone by coming the closest to beating the huge Russian so far. Ignoring his injuries Star Boy went on the offensive and floored the Russian with SOMERSAULT KICK and FLYING CROSS CHOP. At one point Hammerhead fell outside and almost didn’t make it back. The title cannot change hands on a count-out but it would have been a major victory nonetheless. Longer it went on there was a feeling of inevitably that Hammerhead would assume control and it happened as he caught Star Boy with a crushing uppercut that he never quite recovered from. Hammerhead manhandled Star Boy from this point on repeatedly throwing him outside and although SOVIET SLEDGE didn’t bring down the curtain a RUSSIAN SICKLE shortly after did.

Ace Arcadium and Mighty Leo beat the Masterminds and break the record for fastest victory. This was over in two moves as Ace nailed Skullgore with GAME OVER – Dark Invader was supposed to be ringside but he hadn’t even reached the end of the runway. There was some pre-match drama as we learned the Masterminds locked Ace and Leo in their changing room. Lazer came to their rescue managing to break through the door. The Masterminds brush off this disastrous outcome and tell Lazer he is now on their hit list for snooping into their matters and admit it was them who beat him up on the last card after Big Boss, Jr paid them a bit of money. Cobalt Commander seems to be racking up the enemies.

Warhawk beats Jet Set Strutter by DQ. Big Boss, Jr causes the outcome as he reaches up and pulls Warhawk’s leg as he was perched on the turnbuckle ready for a deathjump. Warhawk jumped down to confront Big Boss, Jr and as he backed away Jet Set Strutter came up behind and launched him into the barriers. “Let that be a lesson to anyone who tries to put his hands on my manager” utters Strutter. The pair do not even wait for the official announcement.

Lazer beats Tennis Pro with an awesome cross body off the top rope. Tennis Pro shakes off back problems by wearing strapping and actually wrestles a great match. He makes a huge mistake though as he gets away with TENNIS RACKET SMASH but berates the ref over the count. This allows Lazer to recover and grab Tennis Pro in a spinning backbreaker which aggravates the injury. There was now no stopping Lazer and he soon polished the match off with that incredible top rope move.

Johnny Kobra overcomes Bug Buster. Fanciful moves from Johnny from start to finish. Culminates in LEG SWEEP.

Dark Invader beat Rad Racer by DQ. Chilling moment as we witnessed the return of Dark Invader. Rad Racer uses hit and run tactics but falls foul of the ref for trying to run his BMX into Dark Invader outside.

Can anyone defeat Hammerhead? The big Russian looks invincible as he continues to mow down the opposition. Star Boy gave him a small scare on the last card but did anyone really believe he could take Hammerhead down. Bug Buster and Lazer were both destroyed by him in the other matches this month. The next challenger could be the biggest test for him yet. Ace Arcadium has been named top contender.

Speaking of Ace, in a pre-taped promo aired during Saturday Night Superstars he addressed Dark Invader directly. He described the ramblings about the Shadow Side as nothing but claptrap. “I’ve beaten bosses before at the arcades. You are just another boss I need to beat. You have failed Dark Invader. I will never turn to the Shadow Side. It is baloney and a figment of your imagination. Your followers will soon realise it’s an evil cult and expose you. Now it is time to confront you once for all and pin your shoulders to the mat in the ring. So I am now issuing a challenge".

Jet Set Strutter has paired up with Big Boss, Jr to manage his affairs. No doubt he will take to interfering in his matches too. This might just give Strutter that edge he needs. Strutter is riding a hot streak at the moment and would almost certainly be top contender for the Heavyweight belt but is being hurt by the unwritten code that heels don’t wrestle heels. Other managers are floating about but no announcements just yet. Codger loves their gimmicks but he is dithering on decisions on whether to bring them in. He likes to regularly address the fans "I am not seeing any fits so far. Maybe the storylines need to progress more. Plus I have to watch the budget!" Finances are something Codger does have to watch carefully as 80s Mania Wrestling looks to expand. It's not easy running a fed and with Jet Set Strutter reportedly being paid twice as much as anyone else it's tough to break even at the moment let alone turn a profit. Strutter is certainly splashing the cash on an extravagant lifestyle and stylish suits. He has now added Big Boss, Jr to his payroll.

Lazer has made an enemy of himself with Skullgore and Cobalt Commander after assisting Ace and Leo on the last card. Lots of rivalries building. The Masterminds and Dark Invader are battling Ace Arcadium, Mighty Leo, Lazer and Arizona Chance at the moment. The faces have the upper hand especially after Ace and Leo crushed the Masterminds in a matter of seconds on Saturday Night Superstars last week.

All roads leading to the first PPV of the 80s Mania Wrestling era. The SUPER DUPER SHOW from the Puro Dome is coming. Commissioner Codger says this is the biggest event on the 80s Mania calendar and is desperate for it to succeed; He has announced the following matches. Massive main event, in response to Ace Arcadium’s challenge mentioned earlier, is revealed as Ace and Dark Invader finally meet in the ring. It’s the match everyone has been waiting for. If Ace can win the Heavyweight belt before then Codger has said the match could be turned into a battle for the belt at short notice. Lots of other grudges looking to be settled - Tennis Pro meets Bug Buster; Hammerhead against Warhawk in a Flag Match; Johnny Kobra takes on Rad Racer; Star Boy battles the Piranha looking to avenge his injury.

Card 9 – Weekend Wrasslin’ – Canada Centre:

(SUPER DUPER SHOW match signing – Jet Set Strutter against Lazer. Last time they met it became apparent that Big Boss, Jr had paid off the Masterminds to soften Lazer up before the match. Lazer has been stewing over the incident ever since and wants a fair shot at getting payback. Of course Strutter is brimming with confidence and merely sees beating Lazer as a stepping stone to becoming the top wrestler in the fed. Although it’s clear he is worried about Lazer’s abilities to go to such lengths. The paperwork is signed in the ring. Both men stare intently at eachother before Big Boss, Jr distracts Lazer by flicking a coin at him. The distraction allows Strutter to toss the table and jump on Lazer who is unprepared. He tries to lock in the SIX-FIGURE LEGLOCK but Lazer has already built up some pretty powerful friends. Mighty Leo and Arizona Chance come to his rescue. The Masterminds also appear on the scene and Strutter backs off with them but turns crimson when he notices his suit has been ripped “You will all pay for this. Nobody is better than me. I will prove to everyone that not only do I have style but I am the finest wrestler on this planet”)

(Dramatic Promo – Ace Arcadium – Arcade video montage is displayed to the crowd. Ace displays his gaming skills and demonstrates quick reflexes. He then turns to the camera and passionately tells everyone why he is special and how he plans on rising to the top. He finishes off the last level of his game and says “That’s just a little preview of what I plan to do to Dark Invader. Everyone is waiting for us to meet inside the ring. Win or lose there is no turning me towards the Shadow Side”)

Cobalt Commander beat Mighty Leo. Treacherous tactics as the Commander blinds Leo with POISON POWDER. Leo made a mistake of going for a big top rope move whilst the Commander wasn’t hurt enough. He was thrown down and softened up with a couple of COBALT CLUTCH moves before getting the illegal substance in the eyes.

Lazer wins over Skullgore by DQ. After the drama of the match signing earlier in the card this match had an edge to it which increased even more when Jet Set Strutter showed up ringside and refused to leave. Skullgore was ontop but tossed Lazer outside where Strutter started laying the boot in causing the bell to sound. “Don’t ever rip my suit again” shouts Strutter before departing.

Rad Racer astonishes Dark Invader by beating him with a sleeperhold drop. What made the victory even more amazing was that he had already survived THE CORRUPTOR earlier in the match. Dark Invader starts to question the Shadow Side in the wake of this latest embarrassment. “Honest” Al grabs him for an interview and asks whether Dark Invader now realises the Shadow Side is just baloney. In a thinly veiled dig towards Ace Arcadium he responds “Of course not. There are disturbances that I must deal with. I have learned that I must face these before I can obtain total control”.

Bug Buster easily beats Tennis Pro with EXTERMINATION. He needed just three moves to close out victory. Tennis Pro blames his injuries on the defeat. “The only reason he could beat me was because he already injured my back. Well I’ll show him”, with that the cameras follow him through the centre where he confronts Bug Buster in the lobby meeting fans and drops a bucket of slime all over Bug Buster’s head sending him into a panic.

Warhawk wrestles the Piranha to a double DQ as the match descends out of control. Warhawk wants an immediate rematch on the next card.

Arizona Chance is on fire as he overwhelms Johnny Kobra. Pins him after LAST CRUSADE. He points to his beaten opponent on the floor and says he plans to capture Cobalt Commander at SUPER DUPER SHOW. Cobalt Commander is so busy dealing with different feud enemies that he declines to comment.


Card 10 – Saturday Night Superstars – Silver Stadium:

(Rex Spectrum interview segment – Tennis Pro – Bug Buster gets bad mouthed big time at the start of the interview. Rex then overshadows Tennis Pro who can then barely get a word in. Everyone can see Tennis Pro getting frustrated as Rex makes statements instead of asking him questions. However, he then perks up as Rex suggests that the match with Big Buster at the SUPER DUPER SHOW gets changed to the first ever Cage match. It will be a like a ‘Bug Trap’. Tennis Pro agrees to the proposal but remains strangely muted during the rest of the interview. He vows to come back in a few cards time and cut a dramatic promo to try and wow the crowd)

Hammerhead and Jet Set Strutter defeated Ace Arcadium and Lazer. Extremely one sided as Strutter dominates Ace Arcadium from the bell and cuts the ring off. Ace tries to fightback unsuccessfully a couple of points but his opponent is always one step ahead and the SIX-FIGURE LEGLOCK wears him down. Even though Leo gets to the ropes to break the hold Strutter soon slaps it on again and gains the submission. Strutter proves there is no honour among thieves as he shuns his partner throughout the match and later fails to split the winners purse after his manager, Big Boss, Jr cites small print in the contract. Rumour is that Strutter resents Hammerhead because he has the gold that he desperately wants but of course Strutter is too clever to make an enemy of the huge Russian. He placates the huge Russian by saying that he needs the money to help bring in more heels to the fed and that he is dedicated to helping him beat his arch-enemy Warhawk. In reality Strutter has no interest in Warhawk but Hammerhead seems to accept what he has been told. Lazer rants in the post match breakdown with “Honest” Al. He is frustrated he he wasn’t able to get his hands on Strutter in the match.

Dark Star Invader overpowers Bug Buster. Uses THE CORRUPTOR to get the three count. Dark Invader had challenged Bug Buster to this match several cards ago looking for revenge after his shock tournament loss. Sensing an opportunity to build fan interest the promoter billed the match as ‘Revenge of the Invader’.

Mighty Leo defeated Cobalt Commander by DQ. Codger was unhappy with what went on at the last show so ordered them both to wrestle again. Leo seemed to be coasting to victory but Cobalt Commander lured him outside where he attacked him with brass knuckles he’d hidden under the ring. He pulled up the ringside mats and tried to piledrive Leo into the concrete but Leo reversed the move with a backdrop. Cobalt Commander was left in a humiliated heap. It wasn’t the only drama as before the match had begun Cobalt Commander crossed paths with Arizona Chance on his way to the ring and things threatened to get nasty. Arizona was wise and got out of there “I will wait until SUPER DUPER SHOW to beat him!”.

Arizona Chance defeats Johnny Kobra. Arizona winning for the second consecutive card using LAST CRUSADE.

Warhawk is in devastating form as he polished off the Piranha. Brought the house down as he nailed FIRST BLOOD. He stands in the ring fists clenched in the air shouting ‘Molotok’ at the top of voice. Hammerhead is said to of heard the shouts in the heel dressing room but remains stone faced.

Skullgore crushes Rad Racer. DIVING SKULLBUTT doing the damage. The match is over in two moves to tie the record for the fastest match. Rad Racer is brought back to earth with a bump after his stunning upset win over Dark Invader on the previous card. In fact Dark Invader joins Skullgore in an interview later in the show and claims the outcome of this match was down to the influence of the Shadow Side. Rad Racer calls the claims nonsense. “I wasn’t prepared. I was so delighted with my last victory I spent too many nights this week partying and paid the price. I just need get back on the saddle and win my next match”.

Card 11 – Weekend Wrasslin’ – Olympus Coliseum:

SUPER DUPER SHOW report. Final matches announced – Mighty Leo goes against Skullgore and Arizona Chance faces Cobalt Commander. Leo is vowing to tame Skullgore’s rulebreaking ways as everyone will soon hear when he gets interviewed. Cobalt Commander on the other hand is still hell bent on achieving some kind of world domination. He is getting lost amid some of the other heel types in the fed and wants to remind everyone of his status. Some people consider Jet Set Strutter to be the main heel but there are suggestions that Cobalt Commander has been secretly pulling most of the strings. Trouble is he is struggling to back up his diabolical mind and threats with performances in the ring. A loss to Arizona Chance may lose him a lot of respect as a top rulebreaker so the match is critical to him. Ace Arcadium makes the cover of the first edition of 80s Mania Magazine and speaks about the big main event and his love of arcade gaming which he believes gives an edge as he fights against Dark Invader and the mysterious Shadow Side. The PPV is getting huge amounts of hype and the excitement is boiling up nicely.

“Honest” Al interview segment – Mighty Leo – Leo talks about taking the villain trash out of the 80s Mania Fed “I see a lot dangerous types here. Dark Invader, Cobalt Commander and Skullgore are forming a dangerous trio. Ace and I are dedicated to cleaning up this place and I wanna finish the job I started on Skullgore in Chitown on Saturday Night Superstars”. He is asked whether he will be making a raid on the Heavyweight belt. “Belts don’t mean much to me. What’s important is entertaining the fans and fighting on the right side. Besides, my buddy Ace is going for the strap at the moment and he has my full support. If old Codger wants to give me a shot after this I certainly won’t pass it up but otherwise I’ll keep hounding those dastardly heels”. The crowd are behind him as the interview ends with them chanting ‘Leo’.

Heavyweight Title Match, Ace Arcadium wins the belt from Hammerhead. Warhawk seems to have Hammerhead distracted with their big flag match coming up. Clearly Hammerhead values the flag of Mother Russia more than the gold as Ace blows him away. Ace shows some rapid fire skills softening Hammerhead with GAME OVER before following up with CHEAT CODE. There are major implications for the main event at SUPER DUPER SHOW as it is immediately announced the title will be on the line. Some murmurings that Dark Invader doesn’t deserve the shot but Commissioner Codger thinks it’s a money spinner and is calling it ‘Star War’.

Lazer defeated Dark Invader in an early match of the year contender. Lazer is backing his friend Ace Arcadium to heap more misery on Dark Invader very soon.

Arizona Chance stumbled to victory over the Piranha using LAST CRUSADE. This rivalry refuses to die as another match between them is booked stemming from their previous epic encounters but this time it wasn't a classic. Arizona Chance lucked in after a lousy effort where everything he did went wrong. He just wasn't at the races but somehow clung on, eventually finding some rhythm long enough to grab victory.

Bug Buster got the verdict over Cobalt Commander by DQ. The ref saw him getting him blasted with POISON POWDER.

Warhawk is on fire as he swats away the challenge of Johnny Kobra. He is pumped and ready for his match with Hammerhead.

Rad Racer pinned Tennis Pro after Cannonball Run. Rad Racer nearly threw it away when in control after mistiming a deathjump and really hurting himself in an awkward landing. Tennis Pro briefly threatened to win the match but couldn't stay in the rally long enough and faded. The fans loved seeing him humiliated especially after Tennis Pro had gone mad at a reporter earlier in the day who had called the match a battle between jobbers.

Card 12 – SUPER DUPER SHOW – Puro Dome:

(What an event. Spectacular fireworks display open the show. The crowd are settled in the seats anticipating the biggest event in the 80s Mania Wrestling calendar)

Heavyweight champ, Ace Arcadium keeps hold of the belt by beating his nemesis Dark Invader. Dark Invader thinks this is big chance to rule the galaxy by winning the ‘’Star War’ and makes a flying start battering Ace with some monster moves. There is anxiety among the fans as their hero seems overwhelmed by the occasion but slowly Ace turns the tide. Using some heelish tactics to slow Dark Invader down during an out of ring brawl Ace picks up more and more momentum and then thrills the crowd as he unleashes CHEAT CODE to finish the match.

Jet Set Strutter beats Lazer with SIX-FIGURE LEGLOCK in a turbulent tussle which at one point saw the ref take a bump. Strutter’s manager used the opportunity to put the boot in on Lazer when he was thrown outside. Lazer had fought valiantly but Strutter was in hot form using spectacular leg drops and ‘chop til you drop’ moves to wear him down. The ref still dazed from earlier raised the arm of Strutter but he was more concerned in grabbing the mic from the announcer and gets busy shooting his mouth off about how he should be the top contender for the Heavyweight belt after Hammerhead dropped the title. “It’s a travesty that I am not main eventing this show. It will be a box office failure because of it!” Lazer recovers and staggers over to Strutter and calls him disrespectful for not focusing on this match. In what appeared as a pre-planned move the Masterminds were in the wings and infiltrated the ring where they try to do a number on Lazer in the aftermath but suddenly a muscular guy adorned with face paint and stars and stripes singlet rushes to the rescue and clears the ring getting a huge pop from the crowd. Lazer is interviewed by “Honest” Al straight after with the mystery man “meet my buddy BuZZsaW. He is even crazier than I am and will soon join me in the ring when his contract on another popular show is up. We will be the Blade Blasters and cut the Masterminds and Strutter down to size”. BuZZsaW stands there grunting and flexing with the veins in his huge muscles almost popping out his frame.

Flag Match - Hammerhead destroys Warhawk after beating him to a bloody pulp and then unleashing SOVIET SLEDGE. The crowd heat is enormous as Hammerhead rips the American flag in half and then displays the Russian flag in a stone faced victory celebration. Can Warhawk bounce back from this defeat?

Cage Match – Tennis Pro crushes Bug Buster. With no ref to stop him Tennis Pro uses his racket as a foreign object to bust Bug Buster open and finish with ‘Match Point’. He locks the cage after escaping which makes it difficult for Bug Buster to receive treatment bragging that “Now Bug Buster knows how it feels to be caught in a trap”.

Skullgore upsets Mighty Leo after DIVING SKULLBUT. Leo was well beaten and accumulated 6 tokens during the match.

Rad Racer beats Johnny Kobra in a quick match. An eccentric man comes into the ring afterwards and introduces himself as Mister Bonsai. He offers to take Johnny on as his student and improve his ring skills after this humiliation.

Arizona Chance over Cobalt Commander with LAST CRUSADE. Stunning effort by Arizona Chance as he survives relentless attacks and repeated applications of COBALT CLUTCH to battle back from the brink. By winning the match Arizona Chance has protected the treasures that Cobalt Commander craves for now at least!

Star Boy beat the Piranha by DQ in a match that never got going. Within moments the action spilled outside and the Piranha started trying to attack Star Boy with any object he could get his hands on forcing the referee to call for the bell. Commissioner Codger watching from a box at the top of the Dome looked on nervously. This was not the start to the big show he was hoping for.

The SUPER DUPER SHOW lived up to it’s name! Talking points were the main event where Ace Arcadium won his duel with Dark Invader … BuZZsaW bursting onto the scene … Mister Bonsai becoming the second manager/trainer to arrive as he made a surprise appearance for Johnny Kobra and is planning to sharpen his martial arts repertoire. "Mister Bonsai make very, very good teacher. In Dojo we work very hard".

Dark Invader is talking about building his Shadow Side followers up. The devastating loss to Ace Arcadium has done nothing to diminish his deluded beliefs. Whilst the feud with Ace continues to simmer as the champ continues to resist his overtures it seems Dark Invader is now also targeting Star Boy for some strange reason. The youngster isn't saying anything (he never does) but the chance to join the Shadow Side and elevate himself to main event status must be giving him food for thought. For now Ace needs to gear himself up for the challenge of Jet Set Strutter who has probably the most impressive record and wrestling repertoire of anyone in the fed. Despite the huge arrogance he certainly backs it up in the ring and his recent victory has made him the undisputed top contender. Jet Set Strutter has been guesting it up at all sorts of late night shows and is getting really cocky about his prospects.

The cold war between Russia and America gathers heat. Hammerhead may of battered Warhawk in their recent Flag match but still blames him for causing a distraction which led to him dropping the Heavyweight belt. He will not rest until Warhawk surrenders at his feet and leaves the fed for good. Being the American hero that he is Warhawk pledges that he will turn the tables and knock the huge Russian out so that he can lay the flag over him. Asked whether Hammerhead will also be seeking to reclaim the Heavyweight strap he coldly replies “Belt means nothing. I crush American Hawk and show everyone that he is from inferior nation”.

Rumours that Commissioner Codger is toying with the idea of building up the tag division. There are too few teams to consider bringing in a belt at the moment. Two popular teams from another territory known as the Neon Express and the Metalheads are being looked at seriously. Will Codger make them an offer to join? Has he even got the money? SUPER DUPER SHOW was a ratings hit but Codger has spent so much building up the roster and paying salaries it is rumoured he is struggling to balance the books and suffering stress attacks as a result.

Haven't played this in ages but for a change of pace decided to crank out a show. Will do the odd 1 here and there but my main focus remains my GWF fed. Anyway here's my latest results and it was a huge comedown for Ace Arcadium after the joy of the last supercard.

Card 13 – Saturday Night Superstars – Fairgrounds:

(Vignette – Warhawk – Training session! Warhawk appears on-screen with a sparring partner. He then demonstrates on the poor shlub what he intends to do to his enemy, Hammerhead, in their next meeting. Unloading some lightening fast Bowie knife-edge chops. It’s an impressive display but what the fans really wanted to see was FIRST BLOOD. Not understanding why he held that back as that would of surely of got Hammerhead’s attention more. Maybe he is saving that one up)

Jet Set Strutter shoots down Ace Arcadium to win the Heavyweight belt. A nervous sweat from Ace as he walks up the aisle for his first defence. It could be his biggest challenge since topping the high score charts at the Trocadero in London. Unfortunately he doesn’t have enough credits to meet it. Jet Set Strutter is in the form of his life. Ace found himself in the SIX-FIGURE LEGLOCK. Somehow he survived it. Pulling with all his might to reach the ropes. Jet Set Strutter didn’t care. Just pulled Ace back towards the centre and slapped it on again. Game over. Maybe Ace didn’t have his mind fully on the match after what happened with Dark Invader earlier.

Dark Invader punctures the enthusiasm of Rad Racer. Could Rad Racer repeat his greatest stunt ever when he beat Dark Invader? Not likely. Dark Invader has been looking for someone to take his anger out on having lost in the main event at SUPER DUPER SHOW. Poor Rad is his victim. A few fancy tricks at the start but not enough to really hurt Dark Invader. THE CORRUPTOR soon putting Rad Racer down on the mat.

Mighty Leo defeated Hammerhead by DQ in a contenders match. Hammerhead under orders to the restore the belt to Mother Russia. He’ll have to get through Mighty Leo first. Looks like he will do it after brushing off several THUNDERSTRIKE hits and then unleashing SOVIET SLEDGE. Leo doesn’t sell the move. Hammerhead rages at being made to look weak and throws Leo outside. The beating involves chairs and tables being tossed and leads to the bell being called. The poor ref is quaking at the sight of Hammerhead’s rage and takes cover under the ring announcer’s table.

Arizona Chance tames Johnny Kobra. Mister Bonsai makes his first appearance as Johnny’s new manager. There is a definite improvement but Johnny still goes down to a top rope fist drop. Mister Bonsai leaves before Johnny has even recovered and is heard saying “hmmm, we have much work to do”.

Bug Buster gets revenge on Tennis Pro. Tennis Pro gets very agitated after Bug Buster kicks out after TENNIS RACKET SMASH. Whilst he berates the ref Bug Buster is able to recover and shock him with EXTERMINATION. Tennis Pro is almost pinned but still has a hold of his racket. Using it as an extension of his arm he places it on the ropes. Controversially the ref sees this a reason to stop the count. Bug Buster angrily grabs the racket and puts his fist through it and tries the move again. Again he is foiled as Tennis Pro gets a shoulder up. It’s third time lucky and after a nailing Flying Swatter goes for it once more and this time Tennis Pro is out for the count. It’s all setup for another match with one win apiece now.

Star Boy handles the Piranha. Easy to see why Dark Invader is sniffing around Star Boy. He easily deals with the savagery of the Piranha and wins quick with FLYING CROSS CHOP. Dark Invader is present as he’ll be wrestling later and steps out in the runway as Star Boy tries to leave blocking his path. Ace Arcadium gets a huge pop as he comes to Star Boy’s assistance. Before we know it Star Boy and Ace Arcadium are having a brawl with Dark Invader and the Piranha. Later in the show Commissioner Codger takes advantage of this heat to announce all 4 guys must face off in a tag match at the next show to settle things.

Watching Toaster Boy/Grant's YouTube vid playing a few 80s mania matches inspired me to churn out another card. I'll keep playing now and then although I see the fed having a shelf life of less than 100 cards purely due to a lack of roster numbers. Will end up playing the same matches quite a few times. Anyway here's results of the latest …

Card 14 – Weekend Wrasslin’ – Banquet Hall:

(Dramatic Promo – Tennis Pro – This goes off badly. Tennis Pro has a very low toleration level and when the crowd starts heckling instantly throws down the mic and jumps out to confront a particulary vocal section. When an old lady with an umbrella clobbers him that’s as much as he can take. Tennis Pro jumps the barrier and starts swinging. Several poor fans get hurt before enough of them manage to overpower and sit on Tennis Pro long enough for security to wade in)

Jet Set Strutter untroubled by Mighty Leo in non-title action. Quite a test for the newly crowned champ. It will also serve as a dress rehearsal for their big showdown in a few weeks where the belt will be on the line. Real arrogance from Strutter. Refuses to wear his belt to the ring and then gets on the mic and says “it’s because Leo doesn’t deserve to look at it. He’ll probably put his grubby paws on it uninvited. So it’s safe under lock and key at an undisclosed location”. Certainly knows how to put the heat into a match. Strutter is an expert at using Leo’s aggression against him. When the match goes outside he pitches a charging Leo into a table but makes it look like it was self inflicted. Any flicker of a fightback from Leo is always quickly extinguished. Then comes the SIX-FIGURE LEGLOCK. Needs a couple of excruciating stints before it yields the win. Not looking good for Leo ahead of their next even bigger meeting. Strutter has the upper hand.

Star Boy and Arizona Chance (sub. Ace Arcadium) defeated Dark Invader and the Piranha. Ace has a minor wrist injury from playing too many games but is at ringside to help his friends out and ensure Star Boy doesn’t get seduced. Clearly the feud between Ace and Dark Invader refuses to fade. They’ll face each other in a tag match later this month where Ace needs to put the disappointment of losing the Heavyweight belt behind him fast. For now he hopes his support will be enough. There is a hairy moment where Star Boy is in the ring and Dark Invader puts a hand up and stops him advancing. Loses momentum in the process. When the Piranha is tagged in it’s as if Star Boy snaps out of the trance. Manages to win for the team with a skilled missile dropkick. Dark Invader rages afterwards that Ace had no business being out there and will be made to pay.

Lazer scrambles to victory against Johnny Kobra by DQ. They had a great match back on #5 where Johnny scored an upset. With Mister Bonsai behind him now there is a chance the feat can be repeated. For a good while it looks like that might just happen. Lazer getting picked off by martial arts moves. Shakes the ropes in frustration which gives Johnny the chance to nail him with a roundhouse to the face. Lazer clumsily topples over the top rope. Johnny leaps over them and straight onto him. Takes a hold of his head and starts banging it over and over into the ground. Mister Bonsai grins at this new found aggression of his student. Doesn’t matter that the ref didn’t approve and called the bell.

Hammerhead crushed Bug Buster. Early promise from Bug Buster soon snuffed out. Hammerhead knocked him out with SOVIET SLEDGE. Bug Buster has to spend the night in hospital with concussion. Tennis Pro gets online to taunt “if he thought that was bad then wait til I put my racket over his head. My serves are more powerful than any punch Hammerhead can pack”. That’s three times Hammerhead has beaten Bug Buster and they’ve all ended the same way. Bug Buster probably won’t want to be stepping in the ring with him again anytime soon.

Cobalt Commander sees off Rad Racer. Poor Rad slumps to a second consecutive loss. The joy of the SUPER DUPER SHOW seems a very long time ago now. Starts pretty good but Cobalt eventually gets the upper hand. There is a dastardly spot where he steps on Rad’s throat and the crushing on the larynx left him gasping for breath. As Rad gets up and walks groggily around Cobalt then flattens him with a deathjump to take the win.

Skullgore easily overcame Warhawk. Surprise one-sided and very short. Skullgore kept weakening Warhawk with an invisible foreign object. Then puts him out his misery with CROSSBONE BODY BLOCK.
