GWF REPORT (THE END 2109 CARDS 1101 – 1104)
Champions * GWF Heavyweight Champ: Paragon (Top Contender: Spike) * GWF Tag Champs: Twin Blood (Top Contenders: Millenium) * GWF Interplanetary Champ: Matador of M83 (Top Contender: Skinhead) * GWF Ladies Champ: Sniper (Top Contender: Nora Pelf) Latest News: For what it’s worth. Above I have listed the champions and top contenders as usual. Could all be rendered pretty meaningless with the unstable fed future and chances of a roster shake up in 2110. Notably Spike has risen to the top contender berth. I had already decided on this before he lost to the unknown Code Enforcer. Nobody expected this legend to return let alone have a chance to hold the Heavyweight belt again. He’s not about to pass this opportunity up. This will almost certainly be his last ever nibble at the most prestigious prize of all. Will have to move on after that.
Speaking of Spike he has frittered away many opportunities this year to unmask the smaller Code Enforcer but he finally achieves it in the last show of the year despite losing to him in the actual match. The young man was unfamiliar and didn’t stay exposed for long. Managing to grab back his torn mask and stumbled away from the scene immediately. Commando Sam has belittled Spike’s achievement by saying it was the FDF plan to allow it to happen. A sneak peek for the fans and he has promised all will be explained in the coming weeks. Changing landscapes possibly looming. Backup plans are being drawn up to ensure the survival of the GWF should the worst happen. Publicly Commissioner Morpheus has appeared confident but behind the scenes it has been very different. The CPC is putting into action its own plans to try and keep the show on the road should the worst happen. Other well known feds like CCF and AFW will be under huge pressure. Their pockets aren’t as deep as the big two. These are worrying times.
TEAM SUPREME was interesting as always. In the end Star Warrior had to respect the wishes of Pegasus to miss the event. His excuse was that he feels all burned out after his long run as Heavyweight champ and carrying the team. Not sure the other team members would have appreciated hearing that. If the GWF is to carry on in 2110 Star Warrior needs his top guy motivated and happy. In his absence the team faltered. Instead had to watch their main rivals Team CPC take the trophy at the expense of the Gladiators. It was generally a bad show for the hero teams. Only the Fighting Titans made their presence felt. Titan Attack in particular were in great form with two brilliant wins and despite wrestling one match less than the finalists they deservedly got recognised as MVPs. Summary of the end of year awards. Landslide victory for President Cordanus in the most hated category. Even when Thantos broke the code all those years ago there wasn’t this much anti-feeling. Ms. Liberty is overcome by her most inspirational award. Deemed runner up in the category. The wrestling universe appreciative of her efforts to put the emotional traumas behind her and return to the ring. All whilst balancing motherhood. She finished second to Commando Sam. No surprise Sam won that award. In fact the way the awards went showed the affection the fans have for the FDF. The Code Enforcers were deemed most popular. To edge Wolf out takes some doing. Naturally the Champions sweep the main awards. They dominated the belts although by the year end those titles have all been taken off them and form has nosedived. Star Warrior was emotional about being recognised as the top manager. Hopefully the first of many. He realises how hard managing and is very proud to follow his father’s footsteps. Great to see Sniper almost pipping Bloodline in the best newcomer category. She’s been brilliant and has caught on with the fans despite playing a tweener role. Special mention must go to the feud between Nora Pelf and Maxine Babe. For some reason it really caught on with the fans and they just loved the whole hair against hair storyline. The fans also loved Spike’s year long battle with the unknown Code Enforcer although that feud is kind of wrapped up in the FDF against all code breakers battle. Sir Ender accepted his worst wrestler award like he was accepting a knighthood. He said “it’s a great honour my talent has been recognised”. The guy is quite clearly living in cloud cuckoo land. The legendary Matador of M83’s future is being speculated on. He was expected to leave the GWF but he still has the IP belt and fancies building another noteworthy reign. He is expected to dump Reynard B. Guile but where will he end up? He simply says “I have a few irons in the fire for next year but it’s very difficult to plan with the uncertain future of wrestling”.
Finally a comment on the Gladiators. Vengeance is officialy fighting for power. He says it was his decision to miss TEAM SUPREME and the shuffling roles are down to him. So it seems very likely he is trying to win favour with Thunder by claiming he is behind the singles push. As a result Malice and Overkill are likely to be the new tag team but as we’ve seen they’ve got off to a terrible start. Mere rumours but for the loss to Animen Invasion they were sentenced to ten lashes each inside the War Dome. Plus Overkill has been denied a cleansing of which he is long overdue. Not clear if that relates to the loss or not. Either way things are tense inside the Gladiator camp plus the Aethrans are deeply unpopular with their war mongering ways seen as the main reason for the UFSP sticking its nose into the GWF. As the Minister of War Massacre is seen as chiefly culpable. There’s a lot of people probably gunning for him. INJURED – Mayhem (1); SUSPENDED – none
WRESTLER OF THE MONTH:
PARAGON - Even when not at his best he still does the business for Team CPC. Recovering from an iffy start at TEAM SUPREME to deliver the crucial victory. He then defended the Heavyweight belt against Buck Steele. If wrestling does survive beyond this year he will continue as the GWF champion as he is showing no desire to return to the CPC. Deep down he knows what the grander stage is.
TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH:
THUNDER AND OVERKILL - If this is to be the end of this second legendary Gladiator tag team then they have ended it on a high and win this award for the second time in 3 months. Delivering a powerful performance at TEAM SUPREME even though they didn’t actually win their final match. Although this is a monthly award it’s kind of a roll up of everything they’ve achieved. GWI - END OF YEAR AWARDS: WRESTLER OF THE YEAR – Pegasus (runner up: Paragon) TAG TEAM OF THE YEAR – Alpha Power (runners up: Desolation Factor) MANAGER OF THE YEAR – Star Warrior (runner up: Thantos) WORST WRESTLER – Sir Ender (runner up: Dreadnaught) MOST POPULAR – Code Enforcer Manslaughter (runner up: Code Enforcer Unknown) MOST HATED – President Cordanus (runner up: Paragon) MOST INSPIRATIONAL – Commando Sam (runner up: Ms. Liberty) BEST NEWCOMER(S) – Bloodline (runner up: Sniper) BEST FEUD – FDF against anyone (runner up: Nora Pelf-Maxine Babe) BEST MATCH – Bloodline-Max Shield #1095 (runner up: FDF-Team CPC, Battlezone match #1059)

CPC CLASSICS 2109
As the CPC breaks away from the GWF here is a snippet of how it adapted in the early stages. Magnus Colby was actively on the look out for go getters to present his shows to live crowds as well as talent recruitment. Qualitar was still the main front man but he was now backed up by well known personalities from the sporting and film universe most weeks. Many of whom knew diddly squat about wrestling. Colby had controversially let some of his top talent go to the GWF as he felt it was good publicity for his fed to maintain a succesful presence there. A calculated risk. Terminus had wanted to go with Team CPC but was placated by Colby after being told he was the top guy now in Penthouse Suite. Colby emptied his pockets to sign plenty of other guys to flesh out the fed with Raven, Vector One and Holocaust as probably the biggest names. Also some decent newcomers like the Dominator and the Troubleshooters. Grogan remained in his Commissioner role whilst Scourge was still a special ref who would favour the top team in the fed, the Penthouse Suite. Of course the threat of the UFSP and President Cordanus is felt here and the CPC is on the radar for closure too. Colby thinks because he owns the planet, renamed to Planet Colby, that hosts the fed he will be immune. However that won’t stop Cordanus. He can cast his net very far and it could well be CPC has a very short existence or is forced underground in the future. Colby has a big advantage as he certainly has the resources to do something like this and survive. The GWF, as big as it is, doesn’t.
Short run down of the teams and rosters:
PENTHOUSE SUITE - Terminus, Janus, Vector One, Penthouse Punks, Velar - No prizes for guessing the favoured team of the fed. Stacked with stars with Terminus at the helm. He had wanted to be in the GWF and has only been placated by being named as the top guy in the top team. He’ll have competition from a grumpy Janus though and if results don’t go his way could easily get replaced. Especially with the ultra arrogant and talented Vector One also on the team. Terminus main feud is with the Dominator and will no doubt main event many shows. Terminus feels uncomfortable at another Aran wrestler showing up and will be keen to put him in his place. Vector One is a massive coup for Colby and resumes a feud with Holocaust from WGX. It’s like a who’s who from Dimension X in this team feud. Final mention to the Upstart Punks who are now the Penthouse Punks. They claim big improvements having spent time in the SWA wrestling under masks to hide their identities.
OUTSIDER DOMINATION - Holocaust, the Dominator, Troubleshooters, Phantasy - More commonly referred to as O.D. This team is led by Holocaust who has forged a successful career in WGX since being banished from the GWF years ago. When he heard his chief rival Vector One had come to the CPC he couldn’t get out of Dimension X quick enough. He has a decent back up crew with the Dominator and the Troubleshooters. The Dominator has been a multi time champion of AFW and many people say he is now that greatest star in the history of that fed. That was plenty enough to rile Terminus who thinks this guy is treading on his toes. That is what has really set this feud in motion. Then there’s the Troubleshooters. A tough and outrageous team that comes from CBWF and hotly tipped to win the tag belts straight way. They bring with them their valet, Phantasy, who will be a big ringside distraction. She also wrestles and says she has the perfect blend of sex appeal and athleticism. That’s certainly caught the attention of the other women in CPC Velar and Cassandra.
KING’S COURT - Jack of Diamonds, Zouave the Conqueror, Soaring Eagles - The legendary Exo-King defies rumoured health problems to proudly lead this team in the CPC. There are cruel suggestions he brought Jack over here because it’s easier to succeed than in the GWF. Whatever the reason Jack will be under a fair degree of pressure as the singles star. Especially as the ultra talented Raven is on the team but in a backing role as mainly a tag team guy. Many thought Raven was playing two roles and was also the agile Code Enforcer in the GWF. There was some disappointment when that didn’t prove to be the case at the end of 2109. Anyways Raven is focused on helping his cousin Talon reach greater heights but he may not be wanting to take a backseat to Jack for too long. The final member is Zouave. He’s still narked at Darkos but shows no real desire to reenter the GWF after having a bit of joy in various Indy feds and having a particularly good run in ECW. He has improved but will still be one of the weaker guys on the CPC roster.
DEMONS OF HELL - Bishop Hell, Lower World - These evil sick types always find each other. Bishop Hell is the obvious leader here. He could not adjust to being retired and harboured resentment to all his enemies so now he is back. Proclaiming himself the ‘Master of Hellfire and Brymstone’ in an obvious dig at Blazing Skull who he feels stole his thunder. Trouble is he might he going to down the same path as Dreadnaught by refusing to retire with dignity and wrestling on with diminished abilities. The ace in the hole though is HELLFIRE. It is still a very feared and dangerous finisher. He is joined by the Lower World. They have been rejected by their own kind and seek to show they are a force to be reckoned with. The poor targets selected by them are the Hunters of Prey.
SAVAGE KINGDOM - Gila, Hunters of Prey - Terak has pulled his entire team out of the GWF and sees this as a new start to get away from many problems. He was worried the team was becoming a joke. Karah agrees the CPC will be a breath of fresh air but Wildcat thinks CPC is second rate so could be some trouble brewing. However the greater problem is the mysterious disappearance of the Creeper is because he/it contracted a disease which has been ravaging the jungles of Neptune and the chances of survival are 50-50. Stalker also has worryingly caught the disease. Luckily the rest of them are symptom free. Everyone is keeping their fingers crossed for them. Almost forgot to mention Gila. He has had chances to go through the Transevolver but resists as has no interest in endangering his body having seen what it’s done to Dreadnaught. Instead he focuses on a feud with the legendary Bishop Hell. A real feather in his cap. Although in truth it’s a sign of how far Bishop Hell has fallen. This is lower to mid-card feud at best.
OTHER - Kati, Dynamo, Stormtroopers, Masked Marvels, Theatre of Pain, Cassandra - Not too much to say about all these guys. They are generally not being distracted by feuds. With the unaffiliated 3 tag teams it could be said that the tag division is even more formidable than the singles division. Interestingly Theatre of Pain has a special arrangement that allows them to wrestle part-time in both the CPC and GWF.
So now we move onto reporting a few cards from the opening month. All coming from Colby Mansion (formerly Pelf Palace) as the CPC rarely ventures to other venues. Aside from Terminus, who was Interstellar champion, all the belt holders stayed within the GWF. Naturally Terminus wanted the bigger Heavyweight prize now and voluntarily vacates his current belt. So the slate was wiped clean. Tournaments set up to crown new champions in first few cards. OTB style so there is accumulating fatigue except DQ outcomes are possible. I may make the final matches Titan Death though. Controversially both the Cruiserweight and Ladies titles are canned.

CARD 1 - INTERSTELLAR BELT TOURNAMENT - COLBY MANSION:
Added Attraction:
Outsider Domination bests Penthouse Suite in a messy Battlezone match. No sense teasing the big stuff. Colby pushes the major feuds straight away. Out of the two teams only Janus is not involved as he’s wrestling in the Interstellar tournament. Velar and Phantasy make their presence felt and inevitably clash several times. It’s an entertaining sideshow. However it’s what happens in the ring that counts and in that respect it’s Outsider Domination who get the first bragging rights. They win with a man to spare (Muss) … The Bomb and Vector One get things off to a feisty start as they wrestle to a double DQ. Vector One certainly has a swagger and is showing his undoubted talent. Trouble is he’s a deceitful conniving guy and that’s also in evidence. A match that promised much descends into chaotic brawling and the ref disqualifies them both much to the chagrin of the watching Magnus Colby … The Dominator and Romulus labour to a time limit draw. Disappointing debut for the Dominator. He struggles and came close to being beaten with PUNKED OUT early on. After that it settled down with very little happening. The verbals between the two ladies at ringside were the most entertaining part. Outcome eliminates both again … Holocaust beats Terminus by DQ. Epic battle. Both survive finishers. Looking like it could either way. However a well timed Missile Shot from Holocaust looks like it might finally end it. Velar enters the ring but Phantasy intercepts her. Velar smashes Phantasy who goes down like she’s been shot. She conned the ref big time and gets Terminus disqualified … Holocaust beats Taurine by DQ to secure victory for his team. Another clunky match. Angry aftermath is Colby fires the ref. The disqualifications of Vector One, Terminus and Taurine is the main reason. He says Scourge will referee many of the big main events going forwards as “a strong and impartial ref”.
ROUND 1:
Lycosa eliminated Gila with a DQ win. Gila hopes he can deliver a memorable tournament run to help take Terak’s mind off some of the problems that exist within the Savage Kingdom. Unfortunately he is largely dominated and in stemming the tide got himself disqualified.
Dynamo overcomes Zouave by DQ. It is immediately apparent Zouave has improved a fair bit. Dynamo has stagnated but he’s still got too much for Zouave. In trying to up the tempo Zouave tried a high flying move which cleaned the ref out and caused him to be disqualified for taking dangerous actions.
Janus progresses past Kati. To say Janus is unhappy at the draw is an understatement. He’s pretty ticked he’s not in the Heavyweight tournament as it is. Then out of a largely weak field he gets Kati. Outside of Lycosa it’s the toughest draw he could have got. Not wise saying to Qualitar that it’s been rigged though. Even comments made off air are sure to find find their way back to Magnus Colby and Commissioner Grogan. Qualitar is not to be trusted. Anyway at least Janus got through it. Staves off a strong start from Kati to wrap him up in GORDION KNOT and advance.
Talon is fortunate to defeat Bishop Hell by DQ. Tough draw for Talon but maybe has a chance. The Bishop’s abilities have declined a lot. However Talon is too law abiding. Kept letting the Bishop off the hook and when a high flying move goes wrong he takes a foot to the throat. Ouch! Right in the Adam’s apple. The Bishop takes over and is soon seeking to finish Talon by flaming him with HELLFIRE. However he soon realises unless your in the Penthouse Suite you get no favours as the ref ruthlessly disqualifies him for the move.
ROUND 2:
Lycosa in sparkling form to beat Dynamo. Any thoughts Dynamo had of becoming a main event player in this promotion are extinguished. Lycosa just bombarded him from the bell. Dynamo got no offence in and was polished off with BLACK WIDOW’S BITE. Lycosa assumes Janus will face him in the final and says “bring it on, he’s just a pathetic fly waiting to be feasted on”.
Janus struggles to victory against Talon by DQ. Talon showed no ill effects of being roasted by Bishop Hell earlier. Really takes it to Janus and causes some worrying moments. Janus desperately doesn’t want to be shown up and manages to divert the action outside. The two go at it hammer and tongs. This is where the privilege of being a Penthouse Suite member helps. The ref calls the bell. It’s assumed a double DQ but only Talon is penalised as he was apparently the instigator. The poor youngster clearly stiffed out of a chance to make the final.
FINAL:
Janus beats Lycosa to win the Interstellar belt. CPC is trying to make a big thing out of the crowning of its first champion. Trumpets greet the two combatants. Until Janus tired of the din and started attacking Lycosa before the bell. It’s not a classic final as the match only lasts a few minutes. Janus mainly in the ascendancy. Lycosa seemed burned out from earlier rounds and finds himself unable to escape GORDION KNOT. Janus accepts the belt and makes a show of it. However his mind will surely be already wandering to the bigger prize of the Heavyweight belt.

CARD 2 - TAG TEAM BELT TOURNAMENT - COLBY MANSION:
THE GAUNTLET w/ TERMINUS … Qualitar is back fronting his old show. The furnishings have received quite an upgrade. In fact there is so much expensive stuff now on set the guests are now cooped up behind much of it. Qualitar is usually not afraid to ask tough questions but it’s apparent he and Terminus are thick as thieves. Qualitar just spends most of the time talking up the prospects of Terminus as I am sure he will anyone in the Penthouse Suite. Terminus was typically dogmatic in his belief that he is the top star of the CPC. It was all rather sickly.
Added Attraction:
Phantasy beats Velar by DQ. There may no longer be a women’s belt to contest but this feud is hot enough without that. Especially after the events of the last show. There was some nice spots in the match. Most memorable was when Velar skilfully pivots and catches the on rushing Phantasy with a side slam and the follows up with HAMMERLOCK SLAM. Phantasy just about survives getting beat by that. Velar continued to have most of the offence until she takes leave of her senses and gets herself disqualified. Needlessly grabbed a chair and swiped Phantasy with it. She must really dislike her. Not a great outcome for the CPC. Clocking up DQ outcomes. Hopefully more clean outcomes in the imminent tag tournament.
ROUND 1:
Troubleshooters against Hunters of Prey goes to time. First glimpse of the Troubleshooters and boy do they look impressive. They have a swagger as they get introduced. As if to show how good they are at everything they carry a basketball and pass it skilfully between them. On entering the ring Muss dribbles it around the bemused Hunters (who were notably without any ringside presence as both Terak and Mollock were absent). Phantasy is cheerleading and excitedly clapping. She gets wolf whistled throughout by the crowd. Wildcat has had enough and tries to boot the ball away only for Muss to slam dunk it right on his head. Enough theatrics and now onto the wrestling. Fair to say Hunters of Prey got their asses kicked in the early stages. Barely clinging on. However Karah was impressive in his surviving of MUSS ‘EM UP and also TROUBLE TIMES TWO. Survival instinct kicked in and his refusal to quit galvanised the team and they started matching up to the Troubleshooters. So much so that for a long time after neither team really got in control. Time was ticking on and eventually the bell sounded. The time limit was up and both teams were eliminated. Bit fishy as it potentially clears a path to the final for the Penthouse Punks.
The Stormtroopers jettison the Penthouse Punks by DQ. The Punks are very much fitting in with the arrogant persona on the Penthouse Suite. Even going so far as to suggest they should have just been awarded the belts rather than go through this tournament charade. The experienced Stormtroopers are determined to shut them up. Strangely Cassandra was flirting with the Punks a bit. Is she trying to distract them or genuinely trying to worm her way into the Penthouse Suite? Maybe backing the wrong horse as amazingly the Punks, with a direct route into the final beckoning, crash out. They dominated and laid siege to Hammer with their finisher using it twice. Hammer somehow hangs on and wins by DQ. Taurine is so arrogant as to think the Punks can get away with anything. He smashed Hammer with a chair right under the ref’s nose. Not even in this biased organisation could that be overlooked. The Punks blew it!
Soaring Eagles squash Lower World. Raven’s incredible talent alone makes the Soaring Eagles strong candidates to win this tournament outright but it seems unnatural to see him in a tag team. Talon had a good run in the Interstellar belt tournament and looks confident. However he didn’t get a chance to shine. Raven’s got it covered with a victory secured in a mere 4 moves. He just went for it and Erebus didn’t know what him. Barely escaping getting beat after BROADSWORD only to walk straight into BLADERUNNER. Death’s Head pin save failed miserably as he snagged his long overgrown toenails on the ropes.
Theatre of Pain easily beat Masked Marvels. Lycosa refuses to answer any questions about Darkos. Instead wanting to focus on this new journey in CPC where “hopefully a few more doors will open for me”. Is being part of a tag team necessarily a forwards step? Lycosa did compete in the Interstellar belt tournament and came up short and has no plans to pursue it further. However it is apparent the Masked Marvels have been in a ruckus prior to this bout judging by their condition. Have they shot themselves in the foot by seeking out and brawling with the Soaring Eagles? The way they wilted so quickly suggested so. Halcon Oro made a bad mistake against Comedy straight after the bell and LAST LAUGH finished him off just 3 moves later.
ROUND 2:
The Stormtroopers receive a bye. Direct route into final as their potential opponents the Troubleshooters and Hunters of Prey wrestled to a time limit draw in the prior round.
Soaring Eagles scrape past Theatre of Pain. Confidence flowing through the Soaring Eagles. They bubble with enthusiasm as they get their curtain call. Tragedy tries to dampen that enthusiasm as he meets them on the carpeted runway with an attempted double clothesline. It derails the Soaring Eagles sufficiently to allow many minutes of domination. Raven takes an almighty battering and feels every possible finisher Theatre of Pain has. However a combination of great endurance and crucial pin saves keeps him alive. Eventually he makes a defensive tag. Trouble is Raven isn’t much good for helping anymore and Talon isn’t expected to cope. However Talon chooses this time to shine. He fights valiantly and shocks Tragedy with TALON’S PREY to win a match that seemed well beyond the Soaring Eagles. They will be severely weakened for the final but at least they are in it.
FINAL:
Soaring Eagles defeated the Stormtroopers by count-out to take the tag titles. Odds were against the Soaring Eagles. The Troopers have had plenty of time to study their opponents and wrestled one match less by the luck of receiving a bye. Plus it’s clear Raven is still heavily fatigued (3) from the previous round but Talon has been the surprise package of this tournament so there is hope he can do it again. Cassandra switches loyalties again to accompany the Troopers. Suddenly they are desirable to her again. She tries to disrupt the Eagles by cracking her dominatrix whip dangerously close to Raven and spark a reaction. He’s far too experienced for that and keeps focus. Eyes are on the prize. He and Talon share a quick hug and get down to business with the youngster starting things off. Up against Powerhouse it’s a real David and Goliath battle. He does well at first. However as the time ticks by starts getting heavily fatigued. A long Squeeze of Death in the arms of Powerhouse left him on the brink. Now was the time for Raven to get involved. Somehow Talon got a crucial defensive tag in and Raven shows little of the pain he was in from earlier endeavours. The Stormtroopers cannot handle him and Powerhouse eventually falls through the ropes and outside the ring under a barrage of high intensity attacks. Cassandra and Hammer desperately try to lift him back into the ring in time to beat the referee’s count. They fail miserably and the Soaring Eagles win the belts. Talon is overcome with emotion as he clutches his half of the titles.

CARD 3 - HEAVYWEIGHT BELT TOURNAMENT - COLBY MANSION:
Added Attraction:
Talon draws with Bishop Hell in a Zero Gravity Platform match. Grudge stemming from the Interstellar tournament. The Bishop was horrified the inexperienced Talon showed him up in it and issued the challenge. Talon is working hard to build his reputation and was more than happy to oblige. Magnus Colby added the zero gravity stipulation. He still thinks this is a great special match type even though it can drag on. The rival GWF isn’t able to buy rights to run such a match. Colby has tarted the match up a little bit by electrifying the base of the ring posts. In the past many wrestlers have made a grab for these when fighting against zero gravity. Now no longer an option unless you want to get your fingers fried. It’s designed to have the matches end quicker. Trouble is to get to that point you have to have wrestlers able to throw each other outside. These two were completely incapable and the bout rolled on and on. Seeing the crowd yawns Magnus Colby, from his position in the VIP gallery, sends word to ringside via a messenger. The ref is instructed to pull the plug on the match and declare a draw. Bishop Hell is angry and suddenly unleashes HELLFIRE at Talon to vent frustration. Where was this level of aggression in the actual match? Talon looks dead and buried after taking that. He falls through the ropes. Perhaps not realising the match was over he tried to get back but it’s no surprise that he can’t fight against the weightlessness and drifts agonisingly out of reach of the apron. Bishop Hell raises his arm in victory on sight of this only to have it yanked down by the ref. Original decision stands.
ROUND 1:
Vector One made easy work of Wildcat. Wildcat is a little fed up with solely tag teaming so that’s why he received Terak’s blessing to enter the singles tournament too. However neither Terak or Mollock accompanied him. Despite their absence Wildcat confidently predicts success having paid his dues. Such boasting might of jinxed it. Despite busting out some pretty big early moves Wildcat comes a cropper. Took one FORCED EVICTION to gain the upper hand. After that it was total domination. A second one several minutes later ended the match. Vector One is a showman that is also incredibly arrogant. So he fits right in here at CPC. His post match mocking antics are very degrading and suck the enjoyment out of the victory. The crowd are not sure whether to love or loathe him at this time.
Raven eliminates The Dominator via count-out. Raven hits the ground running in the CPC with a hard fought win. He’s still one of the best wrestlers in the cosmos. Like a few other guys he’s competing for two belts after teaming up with his cuz, Talon, to win the tag tournament as the excitingly named Soaring Eagles. The tag team is actually going to be his priority so if he comes up short in this tournament don’t be expecting him to be challenging for the Heavyweight belt anytime soon. A sideshow was Vector One coming close to ringside for a little looksie at his potential next round opponent. His presence gets cheered and booed in equal measure. He observes how resourceful Raven is as the Dominator inflicts his PAINFUL DOMINATION finisher twice and still loses. Raven fights back and during an out of the ring excursion wipes the Dominator out with a flying body press. He is quickly back in the ring after that. Clearly exhausted Raven sits in a corner and waits to see if his opponent can make it back in the ring before the count. Luckily the Dominator fails and Raven progresses. Might be wishful thinking but Raven is in with a shout of holding both the Heavyweight and tag belts.
Jack of Diamonds gets past Death’s Head with a DQ win. Most would run for the hills when faced with Death’s Head but Jack is made of tough stuff these days and has plenty to prove to his father. Exo-King has always been an advocate of tough love. He spurned Jack’s attempt at a pre match hug and orders him to get stuck in. Death’s Head set the tone by trying to jab a boney finger right in Jack’s eye. When that fails he resorts to a scratch across the chest which rips Jack’s costume. You could see Jack gradually boiling over. In a way that was refreshing and it’s what might of helped him. Despite some fierce offence from Death’s Head that included FUNERAL MARCH a couple of times Jack refused to be bullied. Ultimately Death’s Head hardcore style led to him being disqualified as he attempted to smash Jack with a skull that had been brought to ringside. Mercifully it was an air shot as Jack got out its path. Jack knew the decision that was coming so kept his distance and safely departed the ring with his father.
Terminus quickly beats Holocaust by count-out. Dramatic start. Qualitar is killing time in the ring as murmurings go down that Terminus and Holocaust have clashed backstage. Officials are trying to break it up and send them to the ring. A countdown of one minute is announced or else both will be eliminated. They burst through the curtains and rush down the red carpeted runway with seconds to spare. Both looking worse for wear. However it was immediately clear Holocaust was in the worse shape. He went for the opening move and got countered. Just two moves later Terminus rattled him with a backward head slam and then kicked his carcass out the ring. Holocaust looked like he’d hit the deck so badly that he might be unconscious. He made no attempt to return to the ring and the match was over quick as a flash.
ROUND 2:
Raven comfortably defeated Vector One. Mouth watering meeting. Vector One wrongly presumed it would be a doddle but Raven was looking right as rain despite his tough first round (3 tokens carried over). Showing flashes of brilliance to see off Vector One’s high octane opening. Within a couple of minutes Raven was right on top with a pin attempt coming from a Raven Reverse Slam. He then decides to chance one of his finishers early. BROADSWORD is the finisher of choice and Vector One is beaten. A loud WTF is heard as soon as the match is over. Wonder if that emanated from Magnus Colby? Word is he paid huge sums to bring Vector One over to the CPC and his failure here would not of gone down well. Not all hope is lost though as Terminus is up next. Perhaps an internal battle between Penthouse Suite members would not be healthy. Vector One’s elimination has avoided that risk.
Jack of Diamonds stunned Terminus with a squash victory. Unbelievably Jack makes it to the championship match after another very quick bout. Maybe the CPC is his stage to shine. He went straight after Terminus who didn’t know what hit him. Jack finds an opportunity for his finisher almost immediately and hits BLACK DIAMOND. There is disbelief as it leads to the pin. Exo-King enters the ring and for a minute looks like he might show his son some love with a hug before deciding a pat on the back would suffice. Perhaps there will be more emotion if Jack actually goes onto win the Heavyweight belt. The cameras briefly move away from the scenes in the ring to focus on Magnus Colby in the VIP gallery. To say he had a face like thunder was an understatement. Both his shining lights had bombed. One guy who might be happy is Janus as he was overlooked for this tournament but may now have a case to be made main guy in the top team.
FINAL:
Raven has too much class for Jack of Diamonds and wins the Heavyweight belt. Two heroes from the same team make the final. Raven thinks a handshake would be a good way to start. Jack goes to indulge only for the booming voice of Exo-King to shout “Halt! Inside the ring there are no friendships”. Jack obediently withdraws. He then set about loosening up whilst Raven looked a bit taken aback. He gives Exo-King a momentary glare before going through his own pre-match exercises. He knows he is on the cusp of the phenomenal achievement of winning both major CPC belts. However Jack was being given a fighting chance as Raven’s earlier fatigue might come back to haunt him. Worth noting there was an appearance from Paragon to watch this final match. He was in the crowd but doesn’t exactly blend in. With his size was sticking out like a sore thumb. Anyway he observed a decent match. Raven mostly in control. Luckily it was cleanly finished. Despite Exo-King’s earlier frostiness he resists temptation to interfere and there were plenty of chances too as Jack was subjected to numerous pin attempts. The way Jack stayed in it suggested it might just be his night. However a third BLADERUNNER finally broke him. Raven won the tournament and looked like the cat that got the cream as he was handed the expensive belt. His cousin, Talon, right on cue came out to congratulate and hand him his half of the tag belts so Raven could pose with both. At the end Paragon walked away with a look that suggests “I would have won that if I was here”. Magnus Colby was all over him at the aftershow party. Ignoring the tournament winner Raven and giving Paragon plenty of hugs. He also photo bombed virtually every pic that was taken of Paragon. Clearly Colby is trying to keep his top guy sweet but maybe it’s all just papering over the cracks. Paragon seems far too settled in the GWF. He was even wearing a dinner jacket embroidered with the fed motif. The gamble looking more and more like it could backfire as the year went on.

CARD 4 - COLBY MANSION:
All the new champions are being made to defend their titles right away. The Penthouse Suite is not happy. They thought they’d be awash with gold in the ‘easier’ CPC but there was barely a dicky bird of success in the tournaments. Only Janus did anything by his winning of the secondary Interstellar belt. Instead the belt cabinet of the King’s Court team is the one that’s bulging. However there is immediate controversy as it is ruled Raven cannot compete in two title matches on the same card. He must be replaced in the Soaring Eagles tag team. It’s a blatant attempt to weaken them and make it easier for the Penthouse Punks.
Vector One beats Raven to win the Heavyweight belt in a match where Scourge was ref. Controversially Scourge presides over the match. The CPC is clearly doing everything it can to get all the belts into the Penthouse Suite. Vector One immediately stokes things up by calling Raven nothing more than a Heavyweight champion imposter and that he’s on borrowed time. Raven doesn’t usually do hardcore but in a spur of the moment took hold of the chair and looked like he might strike Vector One. Fortunately the red mist passes quickly and he doesn’t go through with it. Would of been interesting what Scourge would of done as a DQ would deny Vector One the chance to win the strap. Finally they get underway and despite Scourge’s penchant for fast pin counts against non favoured wrestlers Raven is able to survive phenomenal punishment including FORCED EVICTION. He actually clocks up 8 tokens which shows how much he took. Raven had his moments too but Vector One shows what an incredible talent he is by this performance. Finally a full nelson suplex proves one big move too many for Raven to withstand and the bout is over. Vector One avenges his tournament loss to Raven and takes what he believes is his rightful place as champ. Raven only held the belt for one card. One of the shortest belt reigns ever. Plus it meant all in the space of one disastrous night the King’s Court has lost all its titles they’d earned in the tournaments. Anyway it was a great match that will stay etched in the memory. Even the GWF, in one of its shows, aired a clip of the match finish to keep its fans informed. Omega was quoted as saying it’s one of the best matches he has seen in a long time which was high praise indeed. There was no class from Magnus Colby though in return as he used the next CPC show to unveil GWF spoilers for a show that was about to be screened.
Penthouse Punks defeated Soaring Eagles to claim the tag belts. Talon is ecstatic to be wearing a belt and sharing the honour with his legendary cousin. However as Raven is being made to defend the Heavyweight belt in the main event he is controversially blocked from performing here. Jack of Diamonds is forced to replace him or forfeit the belts right away. Jack vows to do Raven proud and ensure the tag belts are kept safe. He even adds feathers to his ring entrance attire and pretends that he is named Swoop. All a bit a goofy really. The Punks look to make Jack regret getting involved as they attack before the bell. They are desperate to show they are worth their place in the Penthouse Suite by delivering tag gold. In a performance that will be heavily dissected they manage to do just that. The action went back and forth. With the Punks trying to beat Jack with their finisher twice and being thwarted it looked like they might fail miserably. Especially when Talon came on strong and hit some dazzling moves. However the Punks withstood this and launched another strong offensive wave with Jack being the recipient of VIEW FROM THE TOP again. This time his father couldn’t buy him anytime with a failed distraction and the belts are lost. Surely with this victory the Punks will be wearing the belts for a long time to come. They will be pushed and continuously favoured until Magnus Colby tires of their gimmick and boots them off the team. Something that might happen if they ever embarrass him. For now though all is hunky dory.
Interstellar champ, Janus, beats Gila but found him to be a slippery customer. Looking like it will be a walk in the park for Janus as he just toys with Gila. However thanks to Terak and Mollock it suddenly turned into a real battle. They saved Gila at key moments including when he was caught in GORDION KNOT. Gila paid them back by actually posting several pin attempts on Janus including one after GUT CHECK. Ultimately Janus avoids an embarrassing loss and comes through to retain although it took a missed deathjump from Gila to do it. Despite the interferences Gila has no regrets about stepping up to the plate and receiving a little assistance. He knows sometimes you have to fight fire with fire to stand any chance. Especially with a feud against Bishop Hell on the horizon. Magnus Colby is said to be unimpressed by the spectacle and plans to trawl through the list of contenders to find a better next match. As much as he wants the Penthouse Suite having success he is aware total domination of a belt can be boring. What match was he watching? This was an unexpected thriller! There were post match murmurings that Janus was trying to drop the belt on purpose so it might clear him a path to challenging for the Heavyweight belt. However that would have been madness as surely would have sent his ranking plummeting. That being said rankings sometimes don’t mean an awful lot in the CPC.
The Stormtroopers too good for Lower World. The Troopers are left high and dry by Cassandra amid further rumours she’s trying to romance the Penthouse Punks. Trouble to come down the road I am sure. Gets worse as Hammer also gets cold feet. Apparently has been having bad dreams about facing Lower World in this top contenders match. Ghastly visions of being tortured and slipping on his own blood were plaguing him and he was worried that the actual reality would be much worse. He left most of the wrestling to Powerhouse as a result. However Hammer cannot avoid them forever and is soon forced into the ring and instantly bathed in a saliva shower. Then suddenly as if someone has just snapped their fingers he realises he better man up or else his fears will come true. Surprises himself as he totally dominates Death’s Head. Wearing the evil Brymstonian reject down with HAMMER’S LOCK and then later STORMTROOPER BLITZ. The moves didn’t finish things off but Death’s Head was then fed to Powerhouse who got it done with a VOLCANIC DROP. A quick thinking dropkick from Hammer to knock Erebus off the apron prevented any interference happening.
The Dominator defeated Wildcat by count-out. Wildcat was frustrated by the performance of both the Hunters of Prey and himself in the tournaments. So much so that he goes solo here after telling Terak he needs “some me time”. Although tellingly Terak accompanied him to ringside. Possibly against his better judgement Wildcat signs up to face the Dominator to try and fast track his ranking. The Dominator is a big player in the CPC and the way he punished and almost beat Raven in the tournament is still fresh in the memory. Anyhow Wildcat comes flying out the blocks but soon runs into trouble against his more powerful opponent. Luckily Wildcat’s endurance is legendary and he clings on in the match. The Dominator doesn’t seem bothered at his inability to finish Wildcat. He was enjoying knocking him around only to almost pay the price for such arrogance as Wildcat, who looked finished after surviving PAINFUL DOMINATION, stirs and grabs him in a small package. Almost a shock pin there and then. Wildcat attempted to maintain momentum and WILDCAT STRIKE hits the mark soon after. The Dominator barely escaped losing from that. However this brief offensive flurry from Wildcat fades. Earlier punishment finally takes its toll. The Dominator gets back in control and a powerful clothesline whilst on the outside leaves Wildcat for dead.
Holocaust over Karah by count-out. With Wildcat craving a singles run there is no option for Karah other than to wrestle singles himself. At least til Wildcat gets it out of his system. It’s a toughie though as it’s against Holocaust who is looking for someone to knock around and restore confidence after a disappointing tournament. At least Karah has support as both Terak and Mollock are back at ringside. They don’t get involved but their mere presence ensures Karah gives a good account of himself. Refusing to be steamrolled. He actually has Holocaust worried a few times. Sadly no pin attempts though. Conversely Holocaust’s offence packed a greater punch and he was able to put a lot of fatigue tokens onto Karah until eventually the youngster fell through the ropes and got counted-out. Terak protected Karah by telling him to stay down. He knew Karah might try and get back in and feared for his safety if he did. It was kind of like throwing the towel in.

CPC REPORT (CLASSICS 2109 CARDS 1 - 4)
Champions * CPC Heavyweight Champ: Vector One (Top Contender: The Dominator) * CPC Tag Champs: Penthouse Punks (Top Contenders: Stormtroopers) * CPC Interstellar Champ: Janus (Top Contender: Dynamo)
Unfortunately I will quickly have to park this. I just wanted to experience a small flavour of the breakaway CPC fed but it will be impossible to push on with my GWF fed if I do much more. Maybe I’ll showcase the odd card here and there in the future. I purposefully ended a few matches early as I decided the CPC prefers shorter matches and impose stricter time limits on many of them. I imagine that despite the outcomes of the tournaments it was not a level playing field. The Penthouse still managed to end the month with all the belts. There was plenty of favouritism throughout the year with Scourge getting lots of main event gigs as a ref. It all ensures the Penthouse Suite came up smelling of roses most of the time. Vector One was the main ‘belt-a-holic’ on the team as he was consumed by greed and pursued all the belts vigorously. Even the tag straps. Magnus Colby failed to enjoy the successes of the team though as he spent a lot of time being anxious about Paragon. Worrying that his plan might backfire as Paragon was getting too comfortable in the GWF. There was also the frustration that despite paying lots of money to the Bounty Hunters they failed to punish the Rocketmen. His bitterness towards Nora Pelf lingered. On more than occasion over the course of the year he made attempts to ransack the GWF of its talent. Often quoted as the ‘open arm policy’. Ultimately all fruitless. Of course with President Cordanus aiming to shut down wrestling there was much more than all that to worry about. Even Colby’s apparent bottomless pit of money might not be able to stop that happening. But that’s another story for another time.

THE GWF IS BANNED
The saddest news possible is announced by Johnny Rocket at the end of 2109 as the GWF is banned. President Cordanus pulled it off after a patronising statement! Despite the best efforts of Omega on the council Cordanus was able to play on the fears of another Galactic War breaking out and the UFSP voted to ban wrestling by a close margin and deliver its proclomation. Wrestling fans flocked to as many dark shows as possible in the final week of the year to catch as much action as possible. The last glimpse of their heroes inside a ring. Cordanus rubbed further salt in the wounds by vowing to shut down any underground feds (remember POW?) that try to exist in the aftermath of the ban.
Many wrestlers are now having to adjust to a life without wrestling which is absurd. Can you imagine Genocide or Wolf doing office jobs? Some put suggestions forward such as migrating to Kronos or Dimension X. However these are not an option as restrictions have been placed on time travel which rules Kronos out. As for Dimension X the already unstable pathway has been restricted. Only people legally able to go are those who have been there before. Whilst that suits a very small minority the rest now have to apply to live there and the process can take years to become accepted. Also what chance is there of the likes of Mandrill, Anarchy or the war mongering Aethrans being accepted? Add to that it seems Cordanus might of contacted officials from that dimension to cut a secret deal making it even harder for any GWF wrestlers to enter.
With all hope fading a meeting was called and led to the idea of a very dangerous trip to Dimension Y being explored. This was discovered back in 2012 and the transport portals are said to be even more unstable. With the risk of being torn into tiny molecular pieces during the journey too high to contemplate Commissioner Morheus sought out a guide. That man was Phantast! Both he and Mesmer have completed the journey many times. Of course seeking out the untrustworthy Mesmer wasn’t viable. Plus rumours of his death at the hands of Phantast persist. So Phantast got the gig and was only too willing to help given his own fondness for wrestling so long as he could stay with the fed and manage whoever he wants when they arrive. For Morpeus it was a small price to pay. Solaris helped put them together and a plan was hatched to undertake the mission to this unknown place.
Sometime later secret memos were sent to all GWF personnel stating the plan but not everyone wanted to go. The Dimension X guys wimped out and took the safer option of entering WGX. The CPC also lost its top stars in the same way. Magnus Colby set about filing a huge lawsuit against the UFSP and demanded Paragon return to the CPC as part of a change in membership of Team CPC but got declined. The writing was on the wall there. Strangely Colby still allowed Terminus to join the GWF wrestlers for the trip to maintain a strong presence in the new fed with Team CPC. Perhaps sensing Paragon may not even stay on that team. Another big name choosing a different route is Heracles. He acted in the nick of time to travel back in time to ancient Greece. The biggest shock though was Star Warrior staying behind. The emotional toll of Bloodline leaving the family to join the enemies plus Alpha Force choosing to go back to Dimension X just too much to take. He cannot bear the thought of his family being spread across three dimensions. So instead he is staying with his father and hoping to help him overturn the ban at some point if that becomes possible. Several others have also remained behind for varying reasons.
After several days preparation about 150 people including wrestlers, managers, valets, refs, officials, close friends and family members crammed into a spaceship to make the deadly journey. Commando Sam piloted and Phantast navigated. A tense journey and even sworn enemies came together for a brief period. It was only the Brymstonians and Gladiators who kept themselves to themselves. The journey took several days at the speed of light whereupon Phantast gave an order to Sam out of nowhere. Sam made some quick adjustments. There was little time to think. Phantast had found the portal he was looking for. All that was left for those onboard to hope they would come through this and see the other side.
