Card 688 – RUCK ‘N’ WRESTLE – Rhea Forum:
(Total sell out. Crowd loving GWF action more than ever. Lots of early birds getting their spots hours before the event is due to start. As a special treat staff at the forum lay on some dark matches action up on the big screen)
Bishop Hell beats the Matador for a second successive time to become the new Heavyweight champ. Managerial mayhem before the bout can even start. Reynard B. Guile seeking any advantage possible and heavily complains about the Occult Overlord holding a staff and demanding it be confiscated. The Overlord refuses to relinquish it and demands B. Guile be strip searched in the middle of the ring for weapons. Reynard takes exception and before anyone knows what’s happening the two managers are pathetically brawling. When the ring announcer breaks the moment to notify that the referee has expelled them from ringside Reynard goes mad. Then looks a bit panicked as realisation sets in. If, by getting himself barred, the Matador drops the belt he will be made accountable by his employers. His worst nightmare gets realised as the stranglehold the independent team has on the main belts is broken and the baton handed to the villains. The Matador never really gets going and is having to kick out of pin attempts with alarming regularity. Bishop Hell is holding back on HELLFIRE. Normally in a position of strength he’d fire it off but he knows he risks blowing things if caught and of course the Overlord is now missing so any potential plan to avert attention is a non-starter (in my fed any challenger that loses by DQ usually suffers a heavy penalty and plummets in the rankings). Bishop Hell keeps going and is trying to win it clean but there was always going to be a period where the Matador got some momentum. When it comes Bishop Hell bails out under the pressure. A running torpedo from the Matador triggers it. Maybe Bishop Hell thinks it is now or never. He waits for the Matador to follow him and as he rolls under the ropes reaches under the ring. Pulling out the Overlord’s staff that got sneakily left behind and hidden he smashes the Matador over the head with it. As incredible luck would have it the referee is looking the other way having seen a fan’s balloon float into the ring. All he was trying to do was catch and burst it but meant he missed everything. It’s the beginning of the end for the Matador. Bishop Hell bundles him back into the ring and does a venomous piledriver which leads to the win and the crowning of a new champion. The Matador’s good run comes to a screeching halt but he will come again for sure. Mass celebrating for Bishop Hell. The entire Brotherhood joins him in the ring and then suddenly hundreds of cult members from within the crowd move forward to the front rows with some even getting past the barriers and security to honour Bishop Hell. The whole thing must’ve of gotten the attention of Pulsar. As the natural enemy of Bishop Hell if he can return and post a couple of wins he will feel he has a good chance of challenging and beating Bishop Hell for the belt. Despite the long suspension period he hasn’t dropped as far down the rankings as he might of thought. Another guy who’ll be looking at all this is Raven. He can be forgiven for thinking that he should he the current champ but was cruelly denied through a long term injury. He has very real designs on making another challenge and if he wins the strap actually making it stick.
Special Ref - Massif, Superiority Complex defeats Thunder and Overkill in a non-title match. Only Massif can control a match like this. The GWF believing no normal ref would be strong enough to cope. There is a really cool spot where Overkill accidentally collided with Massif. A normal ref would of gone down and probably incapacitated for a period of time but in this moment nobody moves. It’s that old saying of the irresistible force meeting the immovable object. The tension builds between the two of them. Things get even more dramatic later as Overkill takes a massive exception to Massif stopping Thrash from interfering. Yelling and shoving starts and as it gets out of hand Massif punishes Overkill by giving him a VOLCANIC DROP and allowing Skinhead to carry on. The crowd is stunned but then erupt with cheering. What a move. Overkill manages to recover to a degree and the Gladiators even battle back to hit Prodigy with DECAPITATOR. In this crazy match anything can seem to happen as Prodigy kicks out. Amazing survival instincts. It’s just not going to be the Gladiator’s night. Overkill now gets picked apart from the resurgent Superiority Complex and they use THE PERFECT TAG FINISHER on him to steal victory. Overkill’s earlier altercation with Massif largely to blame for his inability to kick out. Post match the Gladiators and Magnus Colby are fuming. Colby wants Massif removed from refereeing duties immediately.
Lumberjack match, Vyper beats Ram although the IP belt is not on the line. (I like Vyper a lot, even since his face turn. He is one those rulebreaking heroes that no matter what he now does always comes up smelling of roses). Hot form of Vyper continues unabated. Starts so fast and Ram is unprepared. Almost getting pinned in no time at all. Once he settles down Ram makes an improvement and reminds. Vyper this won’t be the walkover it looked like it would be at the beginning. However Vyper’s lumberjacks work really well for him. Terak making a crucial save to put Vyper back in the driving seat and then Stalker using CALL OF THE WILD on Ram when he is thrown from the ring. The assist officially goes to Stalker as when Ram is pitched back into the ring he is immediately pinned. Ram will be wondering what all his lumberjacks were doing during all this. Barely noticed they were there.
Chaos wins a tricky battle with Colussus. This is not the match Chaos wanted. He is annoyed he doesn’t get the chance to avenge his loss to Pegasus or challenge the Matador. Even suggests Morpheus has taken too much bad advice from Mandrill. Maybe it has caused friction for Morpheus does not show up when announced. Omega sends the fans into delirium when he leads Colussus out. Just seeing him at any contest still draws them in. Chaos thinks it might be fun to try and get a reaction out of Omega. He spits on his hands and then walks right up to Omega and wipes them on his robe. Omega stays deadpan. It seems to irritate Chaos that Omega won’t sink to a lower level and react but before he can do anything else Colussus has begun the match and is now jabbing away at Chaos. Morpheus makes a fashionably late entrance. It’s all part of a ruse to catch Colussus off guard and create a bigger distraction. Things then get more worrying. Heracles brazenly strolls down to ringside. It’s almost weird to see him walk as he is often carried down runways in a chair or sofa these days. The ref tries to send him away but Heracles doesn’t move a muscle. After a discussion with Omega the ref allows the match to continue. Colussus seems as if he is prepared to carry on despite the presence of Heracles. The scales are heavily tipped in Chaos’s favour but Colussus tries to rise above it all and really up his tempo. Indeed he does put plenty of pressure on Chaos who lets him in by missing a falling knee smash. The battle is gripping and both swapping spells on top. But Chaos is slowly racking the tokens against Colussus. BOW OF DEFEAT four times in all but it’s not the winning move. That comes in the form of the Chaos Stronghold. Chaos shares the victory spotlight with Heracles to acknowledge the part played by his new partner in crime. Heracles providing a useful distraction when Colussus has just floored Chaos with a clothesline from his robotic side. He made sure Colussus never got down for a pin attempt by calling abuse. It caused Colussus to make a grab through the ropes towards his old partner and bought Chaos enough time to get back on his feet. The road towards meeting Heracles has been rocky for Colussus with a 2-3 record this month (pin losses to Prodigy, Painmaster and Chaos).
New Order beat Generation X by DQ. Grunge and Metalhead open their bout with a deafening guitar solo but the crowd goes wild as New Order storm the ring to smash their guitars up and knock over the equipment. It’s a trap as Johnny Rocket knew something like this might happen. Holocaust is waiting for them in one of the huge boxes normally used for speakers. He bursts out of it behind Dreggs and Mace. Picking it up he brings it down on them. Generation X leap in and all three of them pick up guitars and break them in their assault on New Order. Destructon 3000 had not emerged yet and it’s only his arrival that clears the ring. New Order start the match with two tokens each but Generation X fails to capitalise. Despite being dominant they waste the chance of a big PPV win as Grunge gets himself pointlessly disqualified against Mace. Just needed patience, Mace was ready to drop as he carried earlier injuries and additional tokens including one from THE SOUND OF MUSIC. The part Holocaust played will have the New Order seeking revenge against him. Smart money is on Holocaust becoming a member of the Rocket Men in the future as he seems close to Johnny Rocket despite his current association with the independent team.
Royal Blood beat Cannibal and Draconian Sheik by DQ. Jack is riding a wave of good form but needs to be more on the ball against the wildness of Drac and Cannibal. Finding the violence tough to deal with he needs his father to help bail him out. Exo-King is better at mixing it hardcore. He doesn’t like doing it like this but sometimes it’s the only way. He gets bashed with over the head with a skull for his troubles but at least gives Royal Blood a win on their big return as an official tag team.
Hitman Match, Splatter upsets Wolf. Controversially out of the big match for the Heavyweight belt Wolf seeks to take his anger out on Splatter but his form has dipped. Splatter is still burning energy from being sidelined for so long and rips into Wolf. The intensity of Splatter is off the charts and even Wolf cannot fend it off. First, Splatter uses THE SHREDDER and it sets up MEET ARSENAL. Splatter grabbing his weapon and smashing Wolf right over the head. Wolf is knocked out allowing Splatter to stand in front of the pole and smash Arsenal into the middle of it continuously until it snaps and the bag comes down into his hands. Splatter opens it up for all to see. Inside a hand written contract from the Heavyweight champion, the Matador, guaranteeing Wolf a title shot if he won the match. Splatter takes great delight at tearing the piece of paper up. Wolf will be kicking himself when he realises what he has missed out on.
Titan Death Match, the villain team of Janus, Heracles and Mandrill leave it late to defeat the hero team of Pegasus, Alpha Force and Max Shield. So much talent in the ring at one time. Impossible to call. Loads of great parts in the bout. Max and Mandrill showing the intensity of their feud. Janus and Alpha Force giving a wrestling masterclass. Pegasus and Heracles still trying to prove themselves. Unique battles but all coming together to make a great overall match. The grappling goes on and on. Very little between them all and surprisingly not too many pin attempts but in no way less exciting because of it. With a timer on the match getting perilously close it needs someone to take a risk. Alpha Force decides to go for it against Heracles. Perhaps wrongly he singles him out as the villain weak link (given recent results) but there have been signs that Heracles is becoming more acclimatised in his role. Going for an irish whip Alpha Force intends to launch ALPHA STRIKE as Heracles comes back at him. Heracles manages to grab the top rope and put the brakes on. In his surprise Alpha Force doesn’t notice Mandrill walking round the ring and suddenly reach in to pull his legs from under him. Heracles instantly lands a powerful elbow to Alpha Force as he lays face down. The blow is so accurate it leaves Alpha Force seeing stars and powerless to prevent Heracles force him back into a standing position for a perfect shot with OLYMPIA. Jeering from the crowd as Mandrill gets off scot free for what he did but that’s the way things can happen if a match is signed with Titan Death (in other words no DQ) stipulations.
Stalker strolls to victory over Darkos in less than a minute. Darkos doesn’t know what’s hit him as Stalker makes a spectacular entrance swinging on a vine that suddenly comes down from ceiling. He flies straight in with a one legged kick. Darkos falls back and gets caught in the ropes. Stalker fires a few shots before the ref manages to free Darkos. Wobbling towards the centre of the ring Darkos walks into a Stalker Strap and then a Nomad Neckbreaker. Fast as a flash Stalker then executed an elbow hammer before hooking the leg for a very impressive win.
Stun Rod Match, Raven beat Holocaust by DQ. First of a kind as Holocaust becomes only wrestler so far to be disqualified in a Stun Rod match. He refuses to return the rod to it’s holster when the light goes off. Rage against a former team mate consumes Holocaust. His anger shows itself in abundance during the immediate aftermath interview. Holocaust warns he is not finished yet and pays particular attention on threatening Mace (who has been by far the most vocal of the WAR team when laying into Holocaust).
Sam’s Squadron defeat the Mercenaries by DQ. A critical match, both teams have a lot of work to do push themselves among the tag elite again. The Mercenaries especially have been massively overshadowed by the Gladiators (who are strongly favoured by Colby and Pelf). The lack of impact in MEGATOURNAMENT from the entire Hitmen team is hurting Krakan. Unfortunately it’s a largely unsatisfactory outcome. In what proved the most disappointing match of the night Vigilante and US. Patriot get into an early fist fight outside of the ring. The referee wants the match to get going back inside the ring and tries to intervene. Vigilante shoved him aside and as soon as you put your hands on an official a DQ can happen. Krakan rants over the decision but the ref is unmoved and orders the Hitmen to leave.
Ursa Major beat Mayhem by DQ. Out of the blue a Gladiator playing the curtain jerker role but there is actually heat here. Ursa Major having been a surprising thorn in the side of Vengeance previously. The new leader of the Gladiators asking Mayhem to do a job on the Titan scum. Mayhem certainly does that but goes too far by bodyslamming the young Titan across the announcer’s table. Lord Nexus labels the Gladiators a team of thugs when reviewing the match in the highlights programme, “the match was a waste of time because they aren’t interested in wrestling. Ursa Major now needs treatment on a back injury because of Mayhem’s antics”.

GWF REPORT (MEGATOURNAMENT 2101 CARDS 685 - 688)
Champions
* GWF Galaxian Champ: Bishop Hell (Top Contender: Raven) * GWF Tag Champs: Thunder and Overkill (Top Contenders: Sam’s Squadron) * GWF Interplanetary Champ: Vyper (Top Contender: Stalker)
Latest News:
Magnus Colby and Sonora Pelf rage at the loss of the Heavyweight belt and look for scapegoats. The referees (see further down the news section) and Reynard B. Guile are singled out for the blame. They make it clear they are unhappy with the fact the Matador failed to keep hold of the title and lay the blame squarely at Reynard’s feet. Reynard’s wages are docked as a penalty action and Colby and Pelf then quickly put a stop to his plan to form a tag team out of Ram and Holocaust (which will be a relief to Ram’s ears). Reynard had become consumed with the idea of managing gold and with the Matador having held the Heavyweight belt he was getting greedy and wanted the tag belts to go with it. Colby reminds Reynard he is just an employee and that he, along with Sonora Pelf, make the big decisions. With Thunder and Overkill dominating the tag division they have no need for additional teams. Poor Reynard has been determined over the years to create a team called Reynard’s Revenge but something always gets in the way. Probably a good call by Colby though as Ram and Holocaust are better singles wrestlers and managing tag teams is not B. Guile’s field of expertise. The instructions from above are simple and clear, to direct all efforts back on winning the Heavyweight belt and get back into their good books.
Splatter is back in the game and grabs a stunning win against Wolf. Has to be on his best behaviour having received strict instructions from Magnus Colby and Sonora Pelf. Whilst bonuses for successful lottery strikes will be paid. They must be against MEGATOURNAMENT rivals. Furthermore they will not tolerate them happening to non participants. They do not want him getting suspended for pointless violence that does not benefit the Independent team or costing too many points through DQ losses. Grudgingly Krakan has accepted these terms and is trying to get Splatter to comply with them too. Easier said than done.
Sonora Pelf challenges the GWF authority over refereeing standards. The Colby-Pelf Corporation had a disastrous RUCK ‘N’ WRESTLE as key moments with officials went against them. The worst moment was when Massif actually nailed Overkill and it may well of been the reason the Gladiators lost to Superiority Complex. They want all referees to be fired and a complete new line up recruited. They also demand Massif is banned for life from being involved in wrestling. Suffice to say Commissioner Grogan has not responded to the comments.
The suspension of Pulsar is finally over and he says he is going right after Bishop Hell again. Pulsar is still sorry for going off the deep end with the actions that got him suspended and does hope it’s a fresh start, “I prefer to punish Bishop Hell with clean pin victories but cannot promise I won’t be consumed by anger when I face Bishop Hell or indeed any other rulebreakers again”. Additional interest is that Bishop Hell now wears the Heavyweight belt. The feud didn’t need to be any more intense but things now off the charts with this priceless concoction of leather and gold in the mix. Pulsar has always been an IP level of competitor but his eyes must be lighting up at an unexpected chance to make a raid on the big one.
The first trip to the Brymstone Battle Dome since the exploding head incident involving Blazing Skull looms. Shady characters will be all over the place and the GWF warns regular fans not to attend. What wrestlers will be brave enough to make the trip there?
Mace rages at the actions of the turncoat Holocaust and says it’s time he stopped hiding away and stepped into the ring with him. With Holocaust being prevented from moving towards tag team action by his employers Mace may need to challenge him without the backing of Dreggs. Although I am sure promoters will try and convince Magnus Colby and Sonora Pelf a match pitting New Order against Holocaust and Ram will be a good booking strategy. Mace also wants a piece of Overkill in one-on-one action having gotten fed up of all the comments about the Gladiator’s immense strength. Mace thinks he can match and even surpass him in that department. After recent controversial events how interesting would it be if Massif is called upon to referee it or maybe that’s just asking for trouble.
Having taken a look at some newbies recently namely Eagle, Gila, Zouave and Meteor the GWF has decided not to offer any of them full time wrestling contracts. They had high hopes for Eagle but unfortunately they are all seen to be well below the required standards and must be content with a part time/adhoc schedule until they improve. So for now these guys will only mainly be seen on the dark tour. Gila seems to of lost his grip on reality as when he hears the news he claims he is the biggest star of the future in the GWF and a big mistake has been made by not signing him up full time. All GWF TV shows refuse to give him any promo air time so he ends up paying his own money to get an advertising slot during the commercials. Becomes something of a laughing stock with his rants and protruding tongue poses. Gila can’t see it himself. He thinks he looks threatening!
The GWF wants to try and lure Johnny Rocket into the ring again. This time against Destructon 3000. The ultimate jobber against the most powerful force of all. Promoters think it will be great entertainment and put bums on seats. Of course Johnny is steadfastly refusing so promoters are going to be putting their heads together. There must be a way can they can achieve this. Some carrot will need to dangled. There are no guarantees that even Destructon 3000 would be interested either. Preferring to stay out of action and concentrate on managing WAR. He knows his robotic capabilities although somewhat dialled down pose a great danger to anyone that comes up against him.
Top contender to the IP belt emerges from within the same hero team. After racking up victories Stalker catapulted himself up the rankings. Fans are urging him to make the challenge but Stalker is hesitant and doesn’t want risk causing any internal strife. His manager, Terak, is understanding and tells him he must make his own decision and whatever the choice it will be totally respected.
It was so popular that THE MEGA SHOW has been booked again for next month. Taking place under the bright lights of the Deimos Intergalactic Arena.
WHOSE HOT … Bishop Hell, Vyper, Stalker, Chaos, Heracles, Mandrill, Mutant, Raven, Vengeance, Superiority Complex, Sam’s Squadron, the Watchmen WHOSE NOT … Max Shield, Wolf, the Matador, Alpha Force, Darkos, Mayhem, Colussus, Generation X, Titan Fury, the Mercenaries, the Gamemasters
INJURED – none; SUSPENDED none
MEGATOURNAMENT STANDINGS: Colby-Pelf Corp 83, Morpheus’s Villians 55, Omega’s Heroes 54. (Wonderful night for the villains at RUCK ‘N’ WRESTLE. Morpheus’s team picking up valuable points and the lucrative Heavyweight belt. Now means Omega and the heroes look vulnerable. Mandrill taking much of the credit for the turnaround. He claims a change in tactics on his suggestion, having watched many matches from a distance, has yielded great success)
INDIVIDUAL SCORING: SINGLES: Matador 23, Wolf 10, Pegasus 10, Bishop Hell 10, Alpha Force 9, Splatter 9, Mandrill 9, Pulsar 8, Chaos 8, Janus 6, Vengeance 5, Heracles 5, Raven 5, Monad 4, Colussus 2, Johnny Rocket 1, Max Shield, Mayhem, Holocaust 0 TAG TEAM: Thunder and Overkill 30, Superiority Complex 10, New Order 8, Gamemasters 4, Flamboyance 4, Sam’s Squadron 2, Mercenaries, Henchmen, Generation X, Pillars of Power 0 WOMEN: Thrash 4; Amazonia 4; Cassandra 2
Wrestler of the Month: BISHOP HELL - Honorable mention must go to Stalker for returning from his horror injury with some victories but Bishop Hell cannot be denied. Wins over Ram, Wolf and the Matador (twice) culminating in Heavyweight belt glory. Nobody saw that coming but it was an astonishing month and he is now all primed to resume his hot feud with Pulsar. With the ultimate prize in the mix could be interesting.
Tag Team of the Month: NEW ORDER - They proudly retain the award. WAR were in a dark place at the beginning of 2101. Loss of form and motivation on the wane whilst the Gladiators fought the Civil War. New Order were continually getting knocked but they have rolled up their sleeves in the last couple of months and fought their way back to contention even if they did come up short in their recent title challenge.

FEATURED DARK MATCHES – ALBIREO TEMPLE
(Lots of anti-american chants from the crowd when US. Patriot wrestles. American flags being visibly burned right in front of him and Sam when they come out. Adam tried to turn the negative into a positive and use the abuse to inspire himself. Unfortunately it doesn’t work out too well and he loses his match against Monad. Dreadnaught and Soldier of Fortune get mixed reception as some see them as human sympathisers. The usefulness of the Collector as a manager is brought into question during these shows. He doesn’t bother accompanying the Henchmen and lets Pulsar down when called upon)
#1 – The Mercenaries crush the Pillars of Power. Krakan trying to get the Mercenaries noticed. They cannot even get picked for THE MEGA SHOW at the moment. Have to start showing Colby and Pelf they are worth investing in. So far they have contributed zero points which is a paltry return from what is supposed to be (at least on paper) one of the top tag teams in the GWF. At least here they get off the mark and look more like their dangerous old selves. Powerhouse gives them a bit of a battle but Dynamo is well off the pace. He is finished without much fuss by OPERATION: AMBUSH; Death’s Head pinned Pulsar. No chance of a low key return for Pulsar. He was expected to dispose of Death’s Head pretty easily but falls to shock defeat in a drama laden match full of unpleasantness. Cannibal certainly earning his plaudits as a manager and far more effective than the pathetic efforts of the Collector representing Pulsar. Gasps as Pulsar throws ACID RAIN twice as well as nailing WHIRLWIND but a combination of dramatic kick outs and sneaky actions from Cannibal prevent any of these moves spelling the end for Death’s Head. When Death’s Head puts the pressure back on Pulsar there is no decent help from the Collector. He is just too old to do anything much beyond trying a distraction. It’s still a surprise though when Pulsar gets hit with FUNERAL MARCH and cannot kick out in time. Pulsar throws a strop when his head clears at the realisation of the embarrassing loss. Put it down to not being fully match sharp having spent so long out suspended; The Gamemasters defeat the Demons of Hydra after a blooper gifts them the match. It looked like it would be the Demons night. Hydra got struck with ENDGAME but Demon and Darkos got their timing just right and shocked Thantos with their switch move. Thantos getting levelled with THE FINAL ORACLE moments later. Two can play that game though and Star Warrior rushes to his partner’s aid. As the referee gets caught up dealing with the on rushing Demon, Star Warrior dumps a brilliant leg drop over Hydra’s head and switches the pinning attempt and it nearly pays off. In the minutes following the Demons are so incensed arguing and complaining with ringside officials about the actions they fail to see the Gamemasters are going for ENDGAME again. It’s a huge mistake from Hydra and Darkos as Thantos and Star Warrior strike Demon unopposed for victory. Darkos calls Star Warrior a cheating scumbag for what he did. Star Warrior justifies his actions by saying the move was only done in response to the Demons sneaky switch move robbing the Gamemasters of earlier victory. Darkos responds, “don’t know what he is talking about. There was no switch, not my fault Star Warrior can’t tell Demon and Hydra apart. The Gamemasters should be retrospectively disqualified for what they did”; Exo-King comes through a tough scrap with Dreadnaught. He needs to hit CORONATION CEREMONY (+6) hard to get the job done. Shows an old rival plenty of respect by saying Dreadnaught maybe slowing down but he is still a tough opponent and how hard he had to work against him tonight. Dreadnaught doesn’t repay the compliment and says Exo-King got lucky; Jack of Diamonds easily beats Marcel de Sade. King’s Court going up against their former manager in a match series starting tonight. The Collector though doesn’t give them the pleasure of his presence. It’s not much of a match. Jack has too much youth and energy for the ageing de Sade to handle and pins him after a beautifully timed cross body block; Cassandra beat Ms. Liberty by DQ. Cassandra gets away with one here. Had to survive THE LIBERATOR early and at the time of the referee’s decision she was really under the cosh. Sadly for Ms. Liberty she got herself caught in an argument with an aggressive fan of non-humanoid appearance. Should of just ignored them but instead threatened to slap the aggressor for something that was said. Unfortunately whilst the fan was in the wrong the GWF cannot condone threats being made to crowd members. Heavy fine working it’s way through the Galactic post to Ms. Liberty and possibly lucky there won’t be a suspension.
#2 – Monad beat US. Patriot. Scary stuff as Adam walks a gauntlet of abuse. Some of the crowd intent on causing trouble. Commander Sam is there to watch his back. Adam tries to get on with his wrestling but finds Monad, or more specifically Johnny Rocket, frustrating. ADAM’S ATOMIC BLAST and FREEDOM FLYER both foiled by Johnny’s interferences. Sam also has to step in for Adam and help out after Monad unloads DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE and QUADRUPLE CLAMP. It’s delicately poised with both carrying 3 tokens each but Monad prevails after using a stomach claw and neck brace move which Adam just can’t squirm himself out of; Raven pinned Tocsin. WAR team out in force tonight as Raven takes to the ring. He tests himself against the disgusting Tocsin and has little problem putting him away with BLADERUNNER following on from BROADSWORD. Raven is considered one of the most unlucky guys in the GWF after he was prevented a few months ago from taking hold of the Heavyweight belt that he deservedly won due to a bad injury. His unlucky run looks set to continue as Splatter suddenly sprints into the ring to kick off the lottery again. This time he is foiled as Destructon 3000 is able to get to Splatter before Splatter gets to Raven. He throws Splatter across the ring before a single blow is dealt with Arsenal. Angered by the interception Splatter gets up and runs at Destructon 3000 but ends up bouncing right off him. Realising this attack is not going to work out Splatter bids a hasty retreat with no damage done. Relief for Raven as he can now look ahead to his big title match with Bishop Hell injury free; Royal Blood defeated the Henchmen after Dreadnaught comes unstuck against Jack of Diamonds; Holocaust beat Dreggs by DQ. Very little to split them, Dreggs has always been a solid singles wrestler and is more than a match for his old comrade. Unfortunately emotions end up running a little too high for Dreggs and he is disqualified for beating on Reynard B. Guile, whom he partly blames for Holocaust’s defection to the independent team; Abomination defeated Titan Fury. Great stuff but the Titans flatter to deceive again. Not for want of trying. DAY OF THE DRAGON is used against both members of Abomination with Cycle Hog being saved by his manager and Death’s Head remarkably kicking out unassisted when he was the victim. Surely only a matter of time before Titan Fury close the match out but then Dragonmaster gets himself into serious trouble against Death’s Head. He runs into a bony elbow shot as he tries a turnbuckle charge which really hurts him. Death’s Head then conducts FUNERAL MARCH four times before pinning him (I just don’t get it. Titan Fury look like they could become one of the legendary tag teams with their stats packing devastating offense. But I just cannot get them winning consistently. They are losing silly matches. Guess that’s what makes the game great though as nothing is certain); Alpha Force pinned Gemini. With no action on the forthcoming MEGA SHOW Alpha Force has some free time to accept an off the cuff match challenge from Gemini. Alpha Force can be forgiven for thinking this would be a simple match that would just be keeping him sharp. Surprisingly Gemini gives him a bit more than he bargained for and Alpha Force has to work quite hard to put him away with TOMAHAWK THRUST.

FEATURED DARK MATCHES – BRYMSTONE BATTLE DOME
(Family troubles. Jack of Diamonds goes against his father’s wishes by turning up at Brymstone to wrestle. Told Exo-King he was going on a business trip but he got suspicious. Exo-King says “just because Jack has wrestled and beaten Bishop Hell before he thinks he can handle Blazing Skull. But this is a whole new level of danger”. He is not the only hero making the risky trip as several guys want to show they are not intimidated. It’s a surprisingly strong field. The locals enjoy watching the action especially when the villains or hardcore wrestlers come out. The biggest noise outside of Blazing Skull appearing is for the Gladiators when they bring their feud with WAR to the stage)
#3 – Blazing Skull far too hot for Jack of Diamonds. All sorts of undesirables sprouting up in the first few rows of the Dome now. Ready to see one of their own in action. So far Blazing Skull hasn’t been pinned in GWF action and he keeps that run going. Jack finding the hostile atmosphere overwhelming and doesn’t even lay a glove on Blazing Skull. BURNING TOUCH proving it’s potency again. Bad trip for Jack but on the bright side at least he got away without any serious burning injuries; Overkill beat Mace by DQ. Mace goes verbal on Overkill vowing to win the power battle. When he gets no reaction Mace changes tact and taunts Overkill about the need to have Thrash at ringside with him wondering whether he can even manage to go to the toilet without her being there to watch over him. Overkill just stares blankly at him and then gives the slightest of smiles disturbing the fresh lines of face paint. He doesn’t need to trash talk with anyone and lets actions do the talking. He just gets on with the match and pummels Mace. Nothing is settled as despite Overkill’s domination he only wins by disqualification when Mace grows frustrated at being outmuscled and grabs a weapon from a crowd member to try and use. Destructon 3000 is quick to take it off Mace and admonish him for heelish characteristics. Mace seems humiliated and stomps off. It was interesting to see the positive crowd reaction to Overkill as they seem to be favouring the violent types. Most cheering tonight has been for all the villainous wrestlers; Generation X beat the Gamemasters by DQ. Johnny Rocket chickens out of making the trip to Brymstone. Some manager Generation X have got there. He likes to knock Doomsayer’s bad management of the team but am sure he wouldn’t of done something like this. Of course Johnny has an excuse and claims he was attending to business matters and his non attendance was unavoidable. Not Star Warrior’s greatest night. Takes THE SOUND OF MUSIC (+4) with Thantos needing to bail him out. Fares better after Grunge’s KILLER AIR GUITAR by managing to kick out on his own but he is not looking too good. Thantos is getting twitchy reaching for the hot tag but it never comes. Generation X are totally bossing things. Star Warrior finds himself tossed out of the ring and Generation X feed him to the rowdy fans. Star Warrior loses his composure for a split second after missiles are thrown at him and hurls one straight back from where it came. GWF officials are on high alert after Ms.Liberty’s problems in Cygnus and told not to tolerate wrestlers interacting with the crowds in aggressive ways. With regret the official has to ring that bell; The Mercenaries beat up Flamboyance. Maxine Babe very flirtatious with Krakan. Trying to keep attentions off the match and on her. However a much more dramatic incident grabs everyone’s attention as the ref gets taken out by a crowd missile. Takes several minutes to get a replacement in there as the GWF is a bit short on officials (not too many staff wanting to be on Brymstone). In that time Killer Queen gets really roughed up and hit with OPERATION: AMBUSH twice. When the new guy arrives Queenie manages to slip away for the tag. The Mercenaries complain but the tag is allowed to stand. Vanity comes into it and has the audacity to try LADIES CHOICE twice. It maybe shocks Vigilante into action and he steps it up again. Vanity makes a cowardly tag despite Queenie being in no condition to be thrown back to the lions. It’s not surprise when he is flat out and pinned after POLICE BRUTALITY. The Mercenaries chalk another win on their road to recovery to becoming a feared team again; (Reports that Mad Jester and Draconian Sheik have crossed paths at the venue and are busy brawling in a parking lot next to the Dome. Even some local hooligans are getting involved sparking mini riots. Just another normal day of Brymstone then) Mad Jester beat Mayhem by DQ. Hardcore action throughout which got a big thumbs up from the locals; The Creeper bear Draconian Sheik by DQ. Cannibal pointlessly attacking the Creeper.
#4 – Blazing Skull pinned Kati after BURNING TOUCH. Kati aiming to become the first guy to beat Blazing Skull. It starts well enough for Kati and puts some good offence together but is slow to react during a death jump grapple. Blazing Skull grabbing the advantage with a suplex back into the ring and then able to finish off. It’s the first time since the Milan Kunderon match that Blazing Skull had been under any real pressure and it was notable that his skull was glowing angrily but fortunately never actually exploded; Thunder wrestles Mace to a stalemate. Tough battle but after a while starts to drag. Neither guy seems to have the tools to go for the big finish. When the ref gets bumped the announcer decided to call time on the match. It was seen as more preferable than going on the hunt for someone to fill in what with there not being all that long left anway; Vengeance beats Mutant. Hopes for an upset as Mutant explodes out the blocks and takes Vengeance by surprise. It even makes a pin attempt but the kick out is immediate. Vengeance responds to this by dishing out a cruel beating that ends with HELTER SKELTER. Extra notes on Mutant ... GWF continuing to refuse overtures of Krakan to re-hire Mutant but they still wanted to put it in the shop window. Is this the stage to do it though? Brymstone is not the kind of place to go advertising. Maybe they had been struggling to fill the card and Mutant was not going to get spooked by wrestling here. It’s far too unintelligent for that; Superiority Complex get the better of Abomination. Prodigy and Skinhead probably not faced anything like this crazy team before. Early difficulties against them, especially Death’s Head, but prove they can adapt to anything. Skinhead accounts for Cycle Hog after getting on a run with BAD ATTITUDE; Cage match, Cannibal defeated Splatter. It’s hardcore heaven. Splatter making all the menacing moves but then Cannibal beats him out of nowhere. In this first offensive move he catches Splatter with a piledriver coming off the ropes then wraps THROAT SLIT and escapes. When Splatter catches his breath again he is so angry that he picks up Arsenal and wildly smashes it against the cage sides. Each time it impacts brings a roar of approval from the locals; The Creeper beats Pollux in the opener. I think it’s official that Pollux is the worst wrestler in the history of the fed. I don’t think he’s ever won a match. Even Ursa Major and Meteor Storm won matches during their undercard bum stages.

Card 689 – THE MEGA SHOW – Deimos Intergalactic Arena:
SINGLES MATCHES:
Torture Chamber match, Mandrill beat Wolf. Need nerves of steel to want to step inside the chamber with Wolf. Although Mandrill had little choice in the matter as the match assignments were made by Commissioner Grogan. But Mandrill sends shockwaves through the fed by crushing Wolf. No contest. The three falls all coming from VOLTAIC STUNNER. Explanations being put forward as to why Wolf looked so weak tonight. Rumoured that the Watchmen got to him and beat him about just minutes before the match but nobody is talking (I worked out during Mandrill’s relentless offense that his card really favours the Torture Chamber. If he gets to level 2 offense he is almost unstoppable as there are an incredible five level 3 offensive moves he can roll on with the way the match rules are. Bizarrely he is actually more vulnerable on a level 3 roll).
Castor Chain match, Pegasus wins a bloody battle with Splatter. Pegasus survives being smashed in the face with the chain and MEET ARSENAL to beat Splatter with PROJECT PEGASUS. The big turning point came when Splatter tried to throw Pegasus into the ropes and clothesline him with the chain. Pegasus expertly ducks and propels himself off the opposite ropes and takes Splatter out with it instead. Then takes total control of things after this. Signs Pegasus is embracing the hero role. Rather than celebrate he brushes off the talk and says it was just a few points at the end of the day. No time for superlatives as needs to get ready for the next battle.
Torture Chamber match, Vengeance defeated Monad. Tactical from Vengeance as he draws Monad in. Everyone shudders when Vengeance sets himself near the titanium sides and moves leaving all four off Monad’s arms to hit the sides. It’s such a ferocious impact Monad suffers momentary muscle convulsions. Vengeance pounces on the moment and slowly dismantles Monad. By the time Monad collapses under the brutality of HELTER SKELTER it’s his ninth token. Big win for Vengeance and continues to show since his cleansing that he is Heavyweight belt material. He has got to be happy with the way the new Gladiators have continued Aethran domination since the Civil War.
The Matador defeated Raven. Talent overload as these two legends take each other on. Both have been rivals for the Heavyweight belt in recent months and although Raven is the current top contender a win for the Matador may give him a quicker than expected chance of challenging again. They don’t let anybody down serving up classic action. The Matador owes Raven one after losing their last meeting and manages to win with BULLWHIP. Reynard B. Guile looking relieved as his star has fallen slightly with his employers pouring scorn on his management abilities. If he can guide the Matador back towards the title all will be forgiven.
Holocaust beat Chaos by DQ. Feeling underminded by Mandrill, Chaos is trying to show he is still the main man but blows it big time. He is mauling Holocaust and victory looking a matter of time but then goes and gets himself needlessly disqualified. Morpheus despairs.
Colussus defeated Bishop Hell with a flying death jump. Bishop Hell plods through it. Neither he nor the Overlord care much for the match. Although not sure Morpheus will be too happy as that’s more points given up to the hero team. Only Mandrill has put anything on the board for villains in the singles bracket.
TAG TEAM MATCHES:
New Order come out on top in a gripping match with Superiority Complex. Down to the wire. Match time limit almost up when Mace got Skinhead with Mace Massacre. It was the right outcome as New Order had peppered Prodigy with TWIST AND SHOUT and also THE HOLOCAUST (+6). Morpheus managing to avert almost certain defeat. Skinhead had his moments too but was finding Mace very resistant to his BAD ATTITUDE move.
Thunder and Overkill defeat the Pillars of Power after Thunder pinned Dynamo. Match is remembered for the cat fight between Thrash and Cassandra. Thrash gets angry that Cassandra interferes to stop the referee after THE DECAPITATOR. Predictably Cassandra comes off worst.
The Henchmen upset Sam’s Squadron by count-out. Hearts in mouths time for FDF fans as Justice misses SHOCK PROBATION against Marcel de Sade but Commander Sam has got it all under control and quickly directs him to tag out. The Squadron is quick to recover and US. Patriot is dishing out all the repertoire on Marcel de Sade when it goes all wrong. Adam plays into the hands of the Henchmen when he pushes de Sade over the top rope. As he stands court in the ring de Sade suddenly grabs a leg and pulls him out too. Justice and Commander Sam instantly complain to the ref and nobody sees the Collector handing de Sade a heavy antique object. Adam is struck with it and goes down unconscious. Travesty of justice but the Squadron is more taken aback at how they got suckered. They should of been beating the Henchmen no problem.
WOMEN’S ROUND ROBIN:
Amazonia beats Thrash by DQ. Something has got under Thrash’s skin tonight. After her earlier skirmish with Cassandra she now goes wild against Amazonia and is disqualified for violent conduct.
Thrash pinned Cassandra. Match is a write off. Cassandra, having been knocked about earlier, feels she has no chance against Thrash and is trying to save herself for Amazonia. She only offers up mild resistance and gets beaten after an overhead toss.
Amazonia overcomes Cassandra with AMAZON ATTACK. Takes two of them to do it. There were some hairy moments in the opening minutes as Cassandra went for it and even used WHIPS AND CHAINS but Amazonia held firm.
MEGA SHOW ROUND UP:
It’s a disaster for Morpheus. The villains are trounced by the other teams and only win one match out of a possible six. Wolf pays for his crushing loss against Mandrill with a 6 card injury. Leaving him struggling for GALACTICON. What a loss that would be if he were to miss it although Wolf is the type who’d wrestle in a wheel chair if he had to. Monad doesn’t fare much better suffering muscular injuries made worse by the fact he has four arms and an extended torso. News from the medics is that this won’t repair itself fully for just over a month/5 cards.
Scoring as follows ... Independent 22; Heroes 19; Villains 6; Independent

Card 690 – Achernar Technodrome:
Bishop Hell won a non-title bout over Mad Jester. The Occult Overlord hating the fact that Bishop Hell is pressurised into the match with someone he sees as a dangerous loose cannon. He gets on his high horse about it but the GWF and the promoter of the show won’t let him back out. The match was signed before Bishop Hell won the Heavyweight belt. Of course now he is champ the Overlord wants Bishop Hell resting up as much as possible and being protected from burn out. Tough when you have as many enemies as Bishop Hell has. As if to illustrate the unpredictability of Mad Jester he is running around like a headless chicken randomly trying to attack both the Overlord and Bishop Hell. The Overlord urges the referee to disqualify him but the pleas falling on deaf hours. Bishop Hell keeps a calm head and dodges a turnbuckle charge which sends Jester tumbling and crashing into tables outside. Then only needs a few more moves to pin Jester. As the Overlord showboats and preaches in the ring he doesn’t notice Mad Jester recovering. The crowd delights in Mad Jester grabbing him and giving a painful reminder of the Royal Court days by delivering A DEAD MAN’S VERSE. If he couldn’t do it to Bishop Hell then the Overlord was the next best thing.
Monad and Grunge defeated Birds of Prey (Eagle and Raven). Despite not being offered a full time contract the GWF is still happy to give Eagle some exposure on their shows and remain committed to blooding talent. With the support of cousin, Raven, Eagle appears to be much more confident in his promo and sees the match as a vital part of the learning experience. He also thinks the team has a great chance of an upset victory because Monad is still suffering the effects of being in the Torture Chamber against Vengeance just one week ago. Johnny Rocket goes nuts at ringside as his microphone gets confiscated by officials due to the racket it’s causing and crowd complaints. He shouts his orders to compensate and it’s quite funny to find out later has a sore throat from all the shouting. Disappointing that despite the injuries to Monad it still pins Eagle without too much trouble. Eagle did alright but is still a long way below the required level. Raven admits he probably let Eagle have too much ring time but it was important to give him a chance, “it would of benefitted nobody if I’d carried the team the whole way through”.
Jack of Diamonds defeated Dreadnaught via DIAMOND CUT. No problems posed for Jack against the veteran Dreadnaught.
Darkos beats Terak in just two moves with an elbow drop followed by FINAL CURTAIN. Match was timed at a mere 15 seconds. Darkos expected the red carpet to be rolled out for him on his big homecoming but it’s a stilted reception. Truth is Darkos is not even that popular on him home world. Like any good actor Darkos rolls with it and on the fly starts playing a pantomime villain role. Cupping his ears and working the boos. Credit where credits due Darkos delivered a memorable match performance and kind of got the crowd back on side.
The Watchmen overcome the Mercenaries. Vigilante gets taken to the cleaners by Painmaster and put in THE TORTURE RACK.
Chaos destroys Pollux. Chaos goes back to basics and takes up the challenge of seeing how quickly he can finish Pollux. It’s not the fastest time set but still only needs four moves before he is crushing Pollux into unconsciousness with BOW OF DEFEAT.
GALACTICON BUILD UP
It’s that time again when GALACTICON chatter dominates GWF news. All the speculating about what matches will be booked and what the main event will be. CIVIL WAR has dominated the last two but that is now over. Will MEGATOURNAMENT be the focus or will the glittering belt prizes headline the show? For now one match is out the hat and it’s big … Genesis taking on the Colonizers in an Aethran Ultimate Escape match. The battles between these two new teams have been teased throughout 2101 so far but now this feud is ready to go full blown and played out in the GWF arena. Colussus is hoping his wish to face Heracles will happen at the event. He is already tired of wrestling the minions (Chaos won’t be appreciating that description), “I want the boss battle now”. Heracles is thinking it over but won’t be committed yet, “everyone wants to wrestle me. To share a ring with me represents the pinnacle of somebody’s career and I need to make sure my opponent is deserving of that honour. I’m not so sure Colussus meets the criteria. I used to have the misfortune of being his partner and I know his weaknesses. Believe me that there are many. If I take him on it may not enhance my own status within the GWF”.
Wolf has already proclaimed he is available to wrestle even if he is still injured. Omega was dead set against it as he thinks Wolf runs the risk of aggravating injuries further. But he knows only too well not to risk upsetting Wolf. Amazonia said she would try and talk some sense into Wolf but even as the person closest to him she cannot get through. So guess it is settled. Wolf will be on the bill and no doubt villains will be queuing up to face him. The chance to face a weakened Wolf is too good an opportunity to pass up. More matches to be revealed in the coming weeks. The head booker has plenty more irons in the fire.

Card 691– Achernar Technodrome:
(Johnny Rocket’s Launching Pad … Max Shield … Sadly Johnny has got his voice back and is straight onto verbally bashing his guest. Fast forward to the ending and Johnny’s back on the mic “the trouble with you, Max, is that you are whiter than white. But it’s boring. You have no charisma. If you were in the Rocket Men you’d be loved and what’s more you’d be successful”. Suddenly out of character but to widespread crowd approval Max grabs Johnny by the collar, “how about I get that microphone of yours and shove it where the sun don’t shine? Is that charismatic enough for you?”. Rocket’s bravado has left him and he stutters “take your hands off me. This is assault. I’m a good honest guy and don’t deserve to be threatened. I never hurt anyone in my life”. Max’s face screws up at such false comments “you’re no good honest guy. Look at KRONOSCAM. I wonder how many people you have shafted in your life Rocket for your pursuit of personal gain? They should form support groups to help all those poor souls who have ever had to work with you”. Johnny plays the legal card to get Max out of his face, “you will be suspended for this. No wrestler should be allowed to put his hands on a manager or media superstar. I feel quite strongly about this and will be lodging a complaint with the Commissioner and possibly seeking legal advice. And look you’ve ripped my shirt, so that’s damages due to me too”. With that Johnny walks off the set like a petulant child and the lights go off leaving Max sitting in the dark. We can only hope Qualitar gets the green light to launch his proposed talk show soon as it will be a darn sight better than this trash)
Tag champs, Thunder and Overkill, defeated Sam’s Squadron. Thunder pinning Justice after a Gladiator Piledriver. The Squadron heads were down after a recent upset loss to the Henchmen. Commander Sam is at ringside doing everything he can to lift them but it just wasn’t to be. In a swipe (and now potential for a little feud) Superiority Complex go online and say the Squadron should never of been named top contenders. Their recent loss to the Henchmen and now tonight’s failure shows how they crack under pressure.
Pulsar defeated Quasar. Pulsar faces the Titans for the first time. True to his word he keeps ACID RAIN under wraps and reiterates it’s a move he will only use on rulebreaking types. Despite the noble gesture of removing illegal moves (and also sending the Collector away) there is no place for niceties. Pulsar doesn’t want to be too chummy with Quasar. He refuses the handshake. Out of respect to both men Lord Nexus stays back in the dressing room area and watched the match through a monitor feed. Wonder how felt about the outcome as Pulsar totally destroys Quasar and floors him several times with WHIRLWIND. After the third time Quasar never got up again.
The Gamemasters just about beat Heracles and Janus in a stunning match. Virtually every major move resulted in a dramatic intervention or change of fortunes. Star Warrior connecting with COSMIC BIG BANG against both opponents but being foiled. Frustrating but he also had his own good fortune as Janus ties him up in GORDION KNOT only for Thantos to rush the pin attempt and put Star Warrior back on top. Responding to the second chance given Star Warrior thrills the crowd with a 360 off the top rope. Then gives the signal to Thantos for ENDGAME. The finisher is so potent that nobody (unless outside influences dictate) ever really survives to tell the tale. Yet Janus so nearly does. Right on the third strike he kicks out and it is controversially close. The appeal is immediate and officials spend several minutes discussing and then reviewing video monitors to reach a decision on whether the match should continue. Finally the announcement is made and it sends the crowd wild. The Gamemasters are the winners. As soon as he hears this Morpheus kicks over the nearest table, rips off his bow tie and stomps away.
Grunge beat Mayhem by DQ. Just login to violent.com, then you’ll get the picture.
Pegasus handles Draconian Sheik. Done and dusted in just a few minutes. PROJECT PEGASUS stops Drac in his tracks. Split crowd, cheers and boos in equal measure.
Ms. Liberty overcomes Cassandra with THE LIBERATOR. Cassandra is error strewn and no real test for Ms. Liberty. Good start for the FDF. Hoping Sam’s Squadron can carry it on later.
Card 692 – NETWORK DEIMOS WRESTLING – Deimos Intergalactic Arena:
(Extra stuff going on before, during and after the show ... First there’s more GALACTICON match announcements with Mace-Holocaust and confirmation of Colussus-Heracles. Then revelations that Mutant has gone missing. It’s handlers lost sight of it after the match with ? and it got away. It’s electronic tag found gnawed off in one of the corridors. Judging by the some of the screams within the crowd would wager it got into there somehow but trying to pick Mutant out amount tens of thousands of people is impossible. Missing posters with rewards immediately go up. Later Commissioner Grogan meets with all the GWF managers to discuss conduct. He waffles on a bit but the main message is to cut down on the violence. After a few months at the helm observing he is alarmed at all the incidents and won’t stand for it. The finger is not only pointed at the villains as he feels some of hero wrestlers have also showed some questionable actions)
Raven beats Bishop Hell to become new Heavyweight champ. Fireworks before the match has even begun. The Zodiac are in the first row of the crowd and clearly intent on disrupting things should Bishop Hell get into trouble. Destructon 3000 spots them immediately and alerts the referee. Amid much arguing the ref demands that they leave. The Overlord protests that they purchased tickets and have every right to remain but is forced to back down under threat of his own expulsion. Destructon 3000 is happier with the level playing field but continues watching the Overlord like a hawk knowing he will do almost anything to keep the belt. He is able to mostly keep the Overlord under wraps although there is a moment when Raven uses BLADERUNNER and then allows himself to get distracted. The momentary lapse allows Bishop Hell to ambush him on the outside and gain control for a few minutes. Both continue their battle and taking turns to look good but Raven is the one that comes through to a memorable win. Bishop Hell already has a couple of tokens by the time Raven uses a deadly piledriver and is unable to kick out in time. The Overlord makes one last desperate effort to put Bishop Hell’s foot on a rope but stumbles and cannot reach. It’s a fatal slip that costs the match. Despair for the Overlord as the prized belt already slips from his possession, blink and you’d of missed the reign. The fact Bishop Hell did not even successfully defend it at least once means his title run won’t even go into the record books. Upon recovering the realisation sets in for Bishop Hell and he shoots his manager a glance .., if looks could kill.
IP champ, Vyper, overcomes Stalker. This could be a fed first as two guys from the same group compete against each other for the title. Vyper keeps his snake in the bag and Terak does the honourable thing and stays away from ringside. He hopes everyone will remain friends when this is over. At least he knows the IP belt will be staying in the Savage Kingdom after this. He needn’t of worried as Vyper and Stalker show great respect. Although Vyper wins with a second VYPER’S SIDESHOW there is credit for Stalker too. He gave Vyper a great match. Stalker is understandably disappointed but magnanimous in defeat telling Qualitar, “I gave it my best shot but Vyper is a great champion and very much the future of our great team. I’d of liked to of held the belt but at the same time am pleased for his success”.
Sam’s Squadron defeated Superiority Complex. So much happened that I lost of track. Things I can remember is frustration from Superiority Complex. THE PERFECT TAG FINISHER used against both US. Patriot and Justice but Commander Sam and pin saves coming to the rescue. Also recall Skinhead dishing out BAD ATTITUDE several times but for a variety of reasons doesn’t bring about a pin. Not that it was all Superiority Complex as the Squadron have some near misses with US. Patriot usually at the centre of them. There are plenty of tokens on both sides (Justice has 6 of them) but it’s not Morpheus’s night as US. Patriot hears Commander Sam urging him to step up the aggression. Catches Skinhead out by dumping him into a turnbuckle post and then guides him back into the ring. Quick as a flash sends Skinhead flying back into the same post again with ADAM’S ATOMIC BLAST. Skinhead goes down like a lead balloon and Adam wastes no time in making the cover for a huge victory. Brilliant recovery from Sam’s Squadron who had been licking their wounds after being taken apart by the Gladiators on #691. Superiority Complex do not accept defeat quietly and call the Squadron’s win daylight robbery, Prodigy moaning “we dominated. The ref should of stopped the match long before Adam’s illegal move”.
Pulsar overcomes Mad Jester. Pulsar still plucking at the heart strings of Lord Nexus who is in the crowd watching his old friend. Wondering how Pulsar sees Mad Jester, who wrestles on the hero side (for now), as he uses an illegal finisher. At first Pulsar struggles to contain Mad Jester but once he wins an out of ring brawl it’s all one way traffic. The actions of Jester during the brawl make Pulsar’s mind up for him. Unleashes WHIRLWIND several times in a row. By the third time Mad Jester staggers up Pulsar is preparing to throw ACID RAIN. He signals to the Collector on the sly. Just as he is about do the move the Collector accidentally on purpose hooks the ref’s trouser leg with his antique cane to occupy his attention. Meanwhile the blinding substance hits Jester square in the eyes. Mad Jester screams and holds his face whereupon Pulsar gets under him for a schoolboy roll up to complete the victory. He then leaves Mad Jester writhing to return to the dressing room. The cameras move to Lord Nexus to see his reaction to the outcome. He just sits there and shakes his head in a disapproving manner.
Monad pummels Max Shield. Spontaneous match triggered by Max Shield’s appearance on the Launching Pad. Monad only at about 75% combat effectiveness due to muscular problem but doesn’t let this slow it down. It’s just in one of those unstoppable moods and Max for all his defensive capabilities has no answer. He was already on his fourth token by the time Monad almost takes his head off with DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE.
Soldier of Fortune crushes Mutant via THE REVENGER. Then shows he is the lowest of the low by offering Mutant a bag of food before tossing it into the crowd. Mutant goes mad for it and clumsily climbs over the barriers. Carnage ensues.
Abomination defeat Royal Blood by DQ after Exo-King hits the self destruct button. Cycle Hog munching on burgers during the promo. Spitting bits right into the camera proclaiming that Cannibal has put him on a diet but instead he is going to work extra hard tonight and burn calories in the ring. The fact it will all be offset by his huge meal (he is actually taking part in a meat mountain challenge) never crosses his mind. Royal Blood are disgusted by Hog and spend their promo warning that he will wish he was on a fat farm rather than be in the ring with them. The build up forms the base for a frantic match up with Cannibal enraging Exo-King by interfering after Hog got caught with CORONATION CEREMONY (+3). It’s probably the reason Exo-King later gets disqualified as he never truly gets his rage back under control.
Enigma pinned Thantos. The glorious past goes up against the possible glorious future. Thantos aiming to prove knowledge and experience will win the day. Almost immediately goes for MASTERLOCK after a leg sweep takes Enigma down. Thantos knew Enigma would try and jump it and aims it high. Enigma somehow wriggles out and is soon unloading his entire aerial repertoire. Not to be outdone Thantos also causes a stir by not selling FEET OF FURY. Using all his experience he makes sure he falls near the ropes so he can easily snag a leg when he is covered. Fans willing Thantos to get a lift by his coming through it but Enigma just keeps piling it on. Too much energy and just too fast for Thantos. Poor Thantos tries to land a few blows but he’s so tired it looks like he is trying to punch through treacle. It’s not much longer before Enigma catches Thantos flat footed and connects with flying cannonball. This time Thantos is in the centre of the ring and removed of any energy to try and force his way out of the pinning attempt that comes.

‘STARS OF THE GALAXY - VOLUME 5’ released.
(As the new media darling of the GWF Qualitar narrates the tape. Introducing all the matches and of course the various fun segments which start with ... Beauty tips from Maxine Babe. Never seen anything like it as she takes the viewers through her regime and opens a cupboard to reveal hundreds of lotions and potions. In the background Vanity struts in holding a mirror. He gets angry and smashes it on a table corner declaring it to be faulty because he doesn’t think it makes him look handsome enough. Maxine Babe quickly tells him how gorgeous he is which brings a smile back. She then starts to remove her top before suddenly remembering the cameras are rolling and switching them off before the viewers of the tape get an eyeful ... The Collector opens up one of his antique shops. This guys mind is not on the GWF and he is clearly only back for the pay day. He is also a tight fisted old codger when someone tries to sell him a piece and purposely undervalues the ornament. The dodgy deal done he moves onto showing his collection. Spends agonising amounts of time boring the camera crew with stories about some of the artefacts and their obscene values whilst repeatedly yelling not to touch anything. Things only get a bit interesting when a couple of drunks come in off the street. A vase soon gets knocked over and the Collector is almost sobbing as he picks up the pieces, “it was priceless” ... Time for a little look round the GWF museum on Deimos. As part of the arena makeover this little tribute to wrestling history was put together. Probably the most valuable item is the Galaxian code where some of the fragments are on display behind unbreakable glass. Various championship belts adorn cabinets up on the walls. Promotional posters for the first ever card. A bunch of precious early merchandise such as figurines. Even weapons used by past superstars make the displays. Too much stuff to mention but it is heaven for any wrestling historian ... Finally, Lord Nexus is back on Titan and going through his family tree. He speaks about how he has traced his ancestry back to wrestling on Earth and that his great, great grandfather decided to make a new life for his family on Titan. He then describes how he started out his life in the ring and speaks passionately about his early rivalry with Krakan which preceded their battles in the ring. It ends with tears of joy when Lord Nexus looks back on the time he held the Heavyweight belt in the classics era. Not too many know or remember that)
Vengeance beats Mad Jester by DQ in the last and perhaps biggest match of the tape. Outclassed throughout Mad Jester can only offer up clowning around and bucketloads of illegal behaviour. Taking a leaf from Pulsar (who he wrestled last) tries to copy by squirting a liquid in Vengeance’s face from a flower in his lapel. It is not as well rehearsed as the art of concealment is missing. In fact it is so badly done that the liquid shoots out with too much pressure and goes right over Vengeance’s head and hits the referee. Fears that it is the burning solution used by Pulsar and a ringside medic dashes straight into the ring. Turns out it was just lemon juice. Enough to sting the eyes but no lasting damage; Janus defeated US. Patriot. GORDION KNOT is locked in but in a glorious nod to one of Commander Sam’s favourite films from the 20th century he stands close to Adam telling him over and over again “no pain, no pain”. Adam is inspired and survives the move. Hopes he can now battle back to a famous victory are dashed as Janus generally stays on top and tries the hold again later. This time successfully (in truth Adam has to rely on a manager interference roll first time around but I often imagine the dice tell only part of a match story. Kind of like highlights and used mainly to determine the outcome and shape the general outline of any given match); Flamboyance and the Henchmen play out a timed match that fails to conclude. Colby and Pelf giving Flamboyance a chance to try out for a place on the independent MEGATOURNAMENT roster instead of the Henchmen. Making it difficult for them by not allowing Maxine Babe to accompany. Although the Collector is also absent for the Henchmen. The teams cannot be split as the ten minutes allotted pass by with no successful pins. Not for want of trying with Dreadnaught hitting GUIDED MISSILE on Vanity and slightly later on having to think fast to avoid being pinned after Killer Queen’s WARP SPEED. Part of the tape follows Maxine Babe (who was not allowed to be at ringside) after the match in one of her video blogs known as the Babe Diaries. Shows her arriving at GWF HQ on Deimos to personally beg Grogan for Flamboyance to be given a shot at the tag belts. Bypasses the reception and barges into the office. Really turns on the charm in there as she is dressed to kill but Grogan won’t be swayed. Tells her Flamboyance are in no way ranked high enough and orders her to get out or risk suspension. Maxine goes to leave but stumbles over a small robot which is busily hoovering the office. In a cringeworthy moment Maxine ends up in the Commissioner’s lap just as several important execs enter the room ready for the next meeting. All rather embarrassing for everyone now herded round the desk as Grogan quickly stands up and pushes her out the door; Vertigo beats Mandrill in a huge upset. Bookies at the venue were refusing to take bets on this one. Vertigo given no chance and seemingly a sacrificial lamb. He whizzes around trying to make his speed count. The run and gun tactics appearing to work for him as Mandrill just can’t cope with it. A couple of times it looked like Mandrill would finally stem the tide of attacks like when Vertigo tried for a back body drop too early and got smashed with a piledriver and again when trying a shoulder tackle off the ropes and coming off badly in that power battle. But Vertigo just kept coming back at him. When MOTION SICKNESS is used twice in a row there is a belief that a shock might be on the cards. Mandrill survives both times and tries to come back but is finally beaten in a sequence that typified his sluggishness. Trying to force things he goes for a running clothesline but Vertigo swiftly ducks under it and comes back at an unprepared Mandrill with Genesis Rocket Launcher and this time completes the pin; Vyper beat Pulsar in non title action. Two popular guys but in this one Pulsar slips into the role of bad guy quite easily. With a battle over the IP belt looming Qualitar in the studio wonders if the action might really heat up and we will see ACID RAIN. In this match at least Pulsar, despite acting like the heel, is good as gold on his promise not to use the dangerous move on hero wrestlers. Pure wrestling winning the day with Vyper coming out on top thanks to VYPER’S SIDESHOW. It’s nicely setup for their title meeting with them looking pretty evenly matched; Generation X against Quasar and Ursa Major ended in double DQ. Humiliated by his bad managerial start Johnny Rocket is determined to make a serious team out of Generation X and is really cracking the whip. At first they wrestle to his instructions but leopards never change their spots and the rulebreaking soon starts again. Johnny on the microphone as normal telling them to calm down a bit. Fatally he then puts it down in the corner for a moment. His mic can be a lethal instrument in the wrong hands and when Grunge gets hold of it blood is drawn against Ursa Major. The mic then goes loose and ends at the feet of Lord Nexus who is horrified at what he has seen. In a moment of extreme rarity he picks it up and clocks Grunge with it. Huge cheer goes up but Lord Nexus is shocked and ashamed. Almost as if not knowing what to do he tosses the mic to one side and then tells the ref (who was busy dealing with Metalhead) what he has done. The ref nods and pats Lord Nexus on the back before telling the announcer to broadcast his double DQ decision. Johnny Rocket protests loudly and starts to get Johnny Wet Pants jibes from the crowd. Diapers are thrown at him from within the first few rows. Perhaps the joke is in poor taste as a loaded one is then thrown. Even his big media rival Qualitar back in the studio fails to see the funny side; Splatter and Mutant defeated Wolf and the Creeper. Wolf is out of his comfort zone when tag teaming but every now and then takes up the challenge. In a STARS OF THE GALAXY exclusive here he is teaming with the Creeper. He is also carrying injuries and using the bout to help him get fit and prep for GALACTICON. The fact Mutant has been teamed with Splatter gives a hint as to where it ended up after going missing. Wolf takes the fight to Splatter initially but makes the mistake of giving up the advantage to put the Creeper in the ring. The Creeper is having one of those nights where it doesn’t seem to know what to do and gets pummelled by Splatter. Wolf desperately calls it out to tag him back in again. The Creeper looks totally lost but somehow ambles across to do it when Wolf shows it a treat. Mutant sees this and runs across the ring too to get it. Mistaken identity prevents the hot tag as the ref confuses the Creeper and Mutant. Splatter is able to continue battering the Creeper and takes it out with MEET ARSENAL to get a tainted victory; Thantos beat Powerhouse in a decent start to the tape. Thantos running on fumes by the end but nicked the win after managing get MASTERLOCK on Powerhouse’s massive legs.

Latest News:
Omega being used as a sounding board by Lord Nexus. The new Titan manager is concerned about his lack of managerial experience and the barren spell of the Titans. Of particular concern is the way his dynamic Titan Fury team is underperforming. Always one to help friends and fellow heroes out Omega invites the Titans to join his own team for training sessions. The sharing of techniques and ring tactics can only benefit the hero cause overall. Omega himself freely admits that despite all the success and years of managing the top team he is always learning. His position in the MEGATOURNAMENT standings shows that it’s not always easy. Omega famously once said of the GWF, it is easy to step into the ring but impossible to master the art of wrestling. It’s an ambitious project from the two managers but one that they hope will end up with the main titles back on the hero side again. Things have been a little sparse on that front for a while now. Every Tom, Dick and Harry lining up for a shot at new champ, Raven. Vengeance is one of the most vocal. Having recently dallied with the IP belt it had been assumed he would be trying to win that back. But the Civil War is over and Gladiator interest in the IP belt has cooled. As the recognised leader of the new Gladiators he expects Mayhem to take a backseat allowing him to now go after the Heavyweight strap. With title demands coming in from all angles Commissioner Grogan has held meetings with the GWF Championship Committee for their recommendation. They put forth two names out of that bunch on which Grogan can base his final decision. It is between Vengeance and the Matador. The announcement is imminent (read further down). Chaos and Mandrill trying to outdo each other. Signing a spate of matches where they face either the same or similar opponents. Morpheus describes media reporters that say the battle for supremacy is counter productive and damaging as ‘merchants of doom’. He wonders why they can’t all be like Johnny Rocket, “this new guy Qualitar is the worst of the lot. Constantly criticising the villain team but we will show him up to be an inferior reporter. Johnny is the only guy we prefer to talk to. He is a showbiz star and tells it like it is”. Qualitar cleverly responds that “to snap like that must show that Morpheus is cracking under the pressure”.
GWF trying to smooth things over after a couple of dark shows within Cygnus don’t go too well. US. Patriot and Ms. Liberty endure a torrid time and it doesn’t help too much for Earth-Cygnus relations. Although the war between them is a distant memory things have always remained frosty and often any human wrestlers (especially those originating from Earth) are targets of hate. There are parts of Cygnus colonised by humans but they are very much the ethnic minority. Commissioner Grogan wants to encourage healthy competition there and grudgingly has to make an example of Adam and his wife by fining them, “they should of ignored the chants of a small group of mindless fans. Dealing with heckling from the crowd is part of the GWF territory”.
The case of the missing Mutant is solved as it’s fate is revealed. A kidnap by the Hitmen. Having lured Mutant into the crowd on #692 they were able to avoid it’s handlers and smuggle it away. It was no secret that Krakan wanted to take Mutant back. The GWF were responsible for it’s care and had resisted his offers to take it back but now the kidnap plot has happened they are unlikely to rip up any roads to get it back under their care. Just how Krakan plans to utilise Mutant is presently unclear. GALACTICON is coming … we already know about quite a few match ups. The bout between Genesis Prime and the Colonizers with Aethran Ultimate Escape flavouring added to it is garnering the most interest so far ... There is also confirmation from Heracles that he will finally step into the ring against Colussus ... The latest reveals see Pegasus in his continuing quest to become the full package. He is going up against a man with similar physical stats in Janus. Pegasus is getting there slowly with the fans but still has detractors. Omega can sense the unease in Pegasus and seeks to give him a lift before the big match by publicly saying “Pegasus remembers where he came from. Arrogant, bigoted etc but saw the error of his ways. It takes a hell of a man to change but he did it and at GALACTICON he’s going to show everyone that he’s the real deal” ... Pulsar goes for the IP belt against Vyper putting back the expected meeting with Bishop Hell. He is wrestling a hero but with such a glittering reward on offer can he refrain from using ACID RAIN? ... Plus Mace finally getting his hands on Holocaust but now for the big main event reveal (announced just minutes ago) ... Raven against Vengeance for the Heavyweight title and the Commissioner says it will be a Hydra Lumberjack match. Grogan having felt that the Matador-Raven angle has already been done and that giving the shot to Vengeance is the bigger draw. Big shock as Thrash and Destructon 3000 are named lumberjacks. But here comes the biggest shock of all - the Gladiator Legends will return for one night only to also be lumberjacks. The Gladiator-WAR feud is back on big time! Tickets are already sold out for the event and the GWF is struggling to cope with pay per view demand. It could be the most ambitious show ever as they attempt to send event coverage even further into the outer reaches of the universe than ever before.
WHOSE HOT … Vengeance, Raven, Vyper, Monad, Blazing Skull, Amazonia, Thunder and Overkill, Royal Blood, the Gamemasters WHOSE NOT … Pollux (it’s normal for this guy to be bad but he has stunk even more than ever this month), Wolf, Bishop Hell, Mad Jester, Pulsar, Splatter, Sam’s Squadron, Superiority Complex, Flamboyance INJURED – Monad 2, Wolf 3; SUSPENDED – none
MEGATOURNAMENT STANDINGS: Colby-Pelf Corp 116, Omega’s Heroes 81, Morpheus’s Villians 67. (Morpheus’s team not up to scratch at THE MEGA SHOW undoing much of the good work from the previous month. It was an abysmal showing as the only wrestler delivering for him was Mandrill. Guess it vindicates his decision to make him second-in-command but he needs his other guys to step up to the plate. The villains also lost the Heavyweight belt after Bishop Hell’s fleeting reign. This is very damaging as the bonus points gained from successfully defending titles are crucial)
INDIVIDUAL SCORING SINGLES: Matador 27, Pegasus 15, Mandrill 15, Vengeance 11, Wolf 10, Bishop Hell 10, Alpha Force 9, Splatter 9, Raven 9, Pulsar 8, Chaos 8, Monad 8, Janus 6, Colussus 6, Heracles 5, Holocaust 2, Johnny Rocket 1, Max Shield, Mayhem 0 TAG TEAM: Thunder and Overkill 41, New Order 12, Superiority Complex 10, Sam’s Squadron 6, Gamemasters 4, Flamboyance 4, Mercenaries 4, Henchmen 2, Generation X 2, Pillars of Power 0 WOMEN: Amazonia 10, Thrash 8, Cassandra 2
Wrestler of the Month: RAVEN - Popular champion who has recovered from being injured and surged back by winning the belt. But it’s not all about that. It’s the way he has galvanised his team and helped steer them through dark times that has earned him great respect too. Tag Team of the Month: THUNDER AND OVERKILL - Current champions dominate the monthly awards. The Gladiators have this air of invincibility and have an extremely solid run with the belts developing. No other team looks like it’s up to the challenge of taking them on.

MEGATOURNAMENT 2101 – REVIEW SO FAR
A few months into 2101 I just wanted to do a review of how the teams are faring up.
THE CHAMPIONS ... Strange times for Omega’s team. As popular as ever but in taking Pegasus on board as the next big thing they could be in danger of developing an image problem. As the face of their team Pegasus still boasts an arrogance. But most of the problems are in the tag team area. Once an area of strength with past teams like the Greek Gods and Millenium but now seems to be the weak spot. The issue is that Thantos and Star Warrior keep ping ponging between singles and tag action. Always saying they are ready to knuckle down and focus but then keep getting the itch for singles bouts. They did have a decent run at the tag belts recently so perhaps it’s not all bad and it did yield a non-title upset over Thunder and Overkill. The potential to be tag champs is there but they need to sort their heads out before it is too late. Also not helping that Star Warrior is creaking a bit. They are approaching the twilight of their careers. Alpha Force is quietly getting on with things. Still delivering solid results but maybe getting a little lost in the shuffle.
THE CITADEL ... Problems! Power struggles! No titles and barely any points from the singles juggernauts. The Citadel is all at sea. Much has gone wrong since their dominant days and they have dropped behind the Champions. Chaos just can’t get it together and is taking obvious exception to Mandrill sticking his nose into Citadel affairs. Heracles villainous turn has been a disaster and the media is making him the team fall guy. He has to chance to redeem himself if he can humble Colussus at GALACTICON. That will make a statement. The only guys Morpheus can count on is Janus and Superiority Complex (who almost never let him down). Only a matter of time before Superiority Complex rise to the top of the tag team pile once again. So many times they have pulled wins out of the hat when it looked like they would lose. Probably the best team of the last 5 years.
COLBY-PELF ... Nobody is buying into their claims that the CPC arrival is good for wrestling. But they have made a storming start. The biggest success story is clearly the Matador who is leading the MVP singles race. Can he stay out in front now he has dropped the Heavyweight belt? Not surprisingly Colby and Pelf show a lot of favouritism to the Matador and some guys, like Ram, don’t like it but when push comes to shove money talks and mouths mostly stay shut. Also the recruitment of the Gladiators has paid massive dividends who have been head and shoulders above the rest of the tag division. The only criticism is that they have been too reliant on them. The other wrestlers on their payroll have been largely carried. Although it’s hard to see things suddenly going wrong. Colby and Pelf are so wealthy they can just throw money at most problems that might crop up. Also with the lure of the $$$ we could see more guys defecting to their Corporation before MEGATOURNAMENT is over.
THE GLADIATORS ... Nothing changes. The transitions after Civil War to the new breed has not slowed them and they are still dominant. Vengeance is stronger than ever after his cleansing and stamping his authority whilst moving ominously towards to the summit of the Heavyweight rankings. Mayhem has been more mixed but is always prepared to put his body on the line. Of course Thunder and Overkill are the outstanding performers. Looking unbeatable at the moment. Already they are being spoken of as being better than the legendary Brute and Massacre combination. Whilst no Aethran will admit it, due to the low standing of women in their society, Thrash has been an essential addition to the team. Handling Amazonia much better since Civil War and making key contributions during some Gladiator matches.
THE COLONIZERS ... An emerging force for sure. The Watchmen have already shown what they can do with Tocsin particularly unpopular and labelled as a disease spreader and Mandrill is an imminent villain leader. He is already laying seeds to that effect. Whilst Max has generally held the advantage when facing Mandrill the feud feels like it has held back awaiting new members. GALACTICON is really where things will get started.
GENESIS ... Early struggles for Genesis Prime (despite a recent upset singles victory for Vertigo over Mandrill). They need a good GALACTICON to show they mean business. There is no danger of them not being over with the fans though who love their unique abilities and go mad when they are showing them off. Max Shield is a potential hero legend in the mould of Star Warrior but needs titles to get him started. He can be forgiven perhaps for using 2100 as a year to feel his way in. Now in 2101 he needs gold before Mandrill beats him to it.
THE ROCKET MEN ... Despite Johnny’s claims that he will manage Doomsayer’s old team better and with style it hasn’t really happened so far. Monad still hasn’t emerged as the unstoppable force he always gets billed as. Generation X showing little sign of caring about their careers anymore than they had. If anything they all seem to of gone backwards under Johnny’s tutelage and the chasm between WAR and the Rocket Men is growing.
WAR ... Raven has won the Heavyweight belt rallying the team and in turn the New Order has responded. A couple of years spent on the fringes are hopefully behind them. Although there is a slight negative buzz surrounding Mace and hints he might be falling out with his team. For now Destructon 3000 is putting on a united front and they look good bets to win their feud with the Rocket Men.
FIGHTING TITANS ... Some tough times. Lord Nexus having difficulties getting the best out of Titan Fury and leaning on Omega for help. The fans keep behind them though as there is no way a team with such devastating offence and martial arts wizardry can be held back forever. Remarkably their main source of hope has been provided by Ursa Major but can he carry the Titans? He seems to be punching well above his weight. Perhaps the biggest issue for the Titans is someone who isn’t even on their team, Pulsar. There is no telling what emotional effect his injuries and current persona is having on the team. Certainly his actions are being frowned upon by Lord Nexus so it’s just as well he is doing them whilst representing another team.
MASKED ASSASSINS ... Very much a middle of the road team. Lots of potential and Enigma always dazzles but lacking depth to become a truly great team. Darkos will be demanding more of the Demons of Hydra going forward. They seem to be stuck in a rut on the mid card. Maybe they need an image change to get them going. Darkos is also looking towards the future development of the team and it’s no secret that will be making more recruitments in the next couple of years.
SAVAGE KINGDOM ... Vyper maybe the biggest success story of all so far. He has looked almost bullet proof in the ring and most opponents are creeped out by his snakes giving him a psychological advantage before a bell has even been rung. Terak is proud of his development and with Wildcat emerging can boast he has an even better youth movement going on than the Masked Assassins (something Darkos often brags about).
THE BROTHERHOOD ... Whilst the Zodiac and Pharaoh Khety are never likely to move off the bottom of the card weird is working for Bishop Hell. Maybe losing disruptive presence of Ram has benefitted. Despite having enemies everywhere and topping many most hated lists he briefly captured the Heavyweight belt putting the kooky Brotherhood team in an unexpected spotlight. The only issue is that whilst Bishop Hell busily battles for the main belt the remaining members will need to hold the fort in the feud against the Titans and they are not really up to it.
KING’S COURT ... Exo-King had been worried about the Defender’s frame of mind for years so when the change back to the Mad Jester character happened it was really no surprise. So far he has let the Mad Jester do his own thing. Unfortunately the change hasn’t helped results in the ring as Mad Jester has lost more than he’s won. The good thing is Royal Blood have reformed as an official team. Exo-King recognises the chemistry father and son have and convinced Jack to give him one last run. Will they use the team to make a raid at the belts or concentrate on batting Abomination?
MURDERER’S ROW ... By far the most chaotic and unpredictable team of the lot. No method to the madness and you never know what you’re going to get when any of these guys (or should we say things) step inside of the ring. Results are always wildly inconsistent. Disqualifications are plentiful and that’s just how Cannibal likes it. Possible Cannibal is hatching plans on how to get further into the mind of Mad Jester or maybe he might think how well he’d fit into his own team.
THE HITMEN ... It’s time for the Hitmen to deliver. Constant suspensions and inconsistency has hampered them. Splatter needs to calm down before things get worse. Word is Grogan wanted to ban him from the GWF due to the extreme violence but was out voted. The Mercenaries are considered to be one of the best tag teams around but they haven’t held gold in years. Only Soldier of Fortune making a brief run as IP champ in recent times. As a result they are being massively overshadowed by the Gladiators on the Independent team which is driving Krakan mad with jealousy. He has even recruited Mutant, that’s how desperate he is.
OTHERS ... Wolf, Blazing Skull, FDF, Pillars of Power. Contingency plans had to be put in place by Commander Sam as his Squadron stuttered going into 2101. US. Patriot and Ms. Liberty’s wedding renewal seemed to cause a lack of focus. However they are now back on track and scoring vital points for the heroes. They even had a shot at the tag belts recently albeit unsuccessful. Wolf is not team attached but of course wrestles on the hero roster and is weighing with his share of the points so far. He also came close to winning the Heavyweight belt again but just missed out. The Pillars of Power aren’t making any waves on the villain roster but Dynamo on his own is a different story. He courts controversy and posted incredible singles victories over Pegasus and Wolf. Finally, Blazing Skull lurks as a threat from Brymstone. Commissioner Grogan wishing he could stop him fully from competing. Apart from the auto DQ Blazing Skull received for blowing up Milan Kunderon he has won all his matches. He maybe universally hated but there is no debating his abilities.
