Latest News:
Killer Queen is being given the nickname of the Hardcore Harlequin. We saw some changes in his style against Death’s Head. All part of the storyline where he has assisted old friends in the King’s Court at times. Still not an official member of the team as his role is more akin to that of a troubleshooter than being a fully fledged part of King’s Court and of course he still has a heel persona with his Flamboyance tag team. However it was clear he was loving the adulation to the crowd as he went to town on the evil Death’s Head. Splatter wins a Hitman match on behalf of Krakan against Mad Jester but someone stole the cash. Colby and Krakan are accusing each other of pulling a trick. Krakan demands they have a face to face meeting. Johnny Rocket, always looking for an angle to make his show look good, invites them all onto his Launching Pad next week to sort it all out. In the interim Colby and Pelf have called the Henchmen back in from the cold to fill the spot of the Mercenaries in the independent roster. On the singles side Holocaust steps back in. Is Mandrill on a collision course with Chaos? He is irritated that Chaos is still seen as the villain figurehead. Will be interesting to see in what direction he moves in the next couple of years. Maybe he needs belt success to have on his CV to command the greater respect of all the villains. So far the Colonizers have only really had trickles of success with main achievements being last year’s OTB for Mandrill and Nefarus recently winning the IP belt (now stripped). His recent title shot against Mayhem ended in failure. Until he wins that it will be tough to convince the other villains that he is higher in the pecking order than Chaos. His hopes for a rematch at FRIGHT NIGHT were very quickly dashed. See further below for details of why. Massive booking coming on Brymstone. A Battle Royal is coming featuring Blazing Skull. It’s only ten men as it is difficult to find guys willing to step in the ring with him. Even so why would so many guys put themselves at risk all at the same time? Johnny Rocket claims he’s cheated death by coming through his match schedule with Raven, Mace and Destructon 3000. He was easily beaten every time but got through it. Even some fans, who are usually irritated by him, admit he had some guts to go through with it. Johnny is gunning for his media rival Qualitar now. He has been instrumental in the setup. The big events come thick and fast. FRIGHT NIGHT looms and Chaos will be hoping it’s not a horror show. That’s because it’s Chaos against Buck Steele part two and there’s no hiding place as it will take place inside a cage. After the clash at OTB where Genocide overcame Chaos this has been bubbling ever since. The Alpha Stone fading was a perfect excuse for Chaos to explain away the defeat. Let’s hope it keeps its glow this time around and Genocide appears for a true contest. The only wrinkle is Buck might still be carrying an injury after a recent attack on him by Nefarus. This doesn’t mean the Colonizers-Genesis feud plays second fiddle as there is a massive match up planned featuring the rest of them (apart from Nefarus). Mandrill joins the Watchmen to take on Max Shield and Genesis Prime in a Titan Death Elimination match. Also New Order and the Gladiators renew rivalries. This comes after New Order stormed the ring to help Wolf as Vengeance was attacking him. The Gladiators aim to make them pay for sticking their noses in where they are not wanted. A tournament to fill the vacant IP belt will also take place throughout the month with the final match to take place here. The main event sees the Heavyweight belt on the line. It’s Mayhem against the Matador. Once again two independent wrestlers going up against each other but such is the amazing form of the Matador he cannot be denied. Mandrill was fuming when he found out about this. Another guy who is quietly unhappy is Vengeance. If not for the fact Mayhem was the champ and a fellow Gladiator he would of been a very likely top contender. Secretly he must be hoping Mayhem drops the belt and then he can move on the Matador. Just shows the strength of Colby and Pelf’s team that it’s all their guys mainly contesting the top prize. Although Krakan will tell you otherwise Magnus Colby claims wrestling each other for belts is encouraged and healthy competition!
Grogan delivers when it comes to dealing with Splatter’s attack on Raven. A lengthy 9 card suspension is revealed. Destructon 3000 considers even stepping into the ring with Splatter himself after the suspension ends he is that angry. If he does Destructon 3000 says he will beat Splatter so bad that he will fear ever attacking any of his team again. Never seen Destructon 3000 this riled. He is normally a calm figurehead of the WAR team with morals almost on a par with the likes of Omega and Lord Nexus. There is also a suspension for Vengeance announced for his vile attack on Wolf. That punishment will be for 7 cards. INJURED – Buck Steele (4), Wolf (4), Raven (4); SUSPENDED – Nefarus (4), Vengeance (7), Splatter (9) WHOSE HOT ... Matador, Mayhem, Vengeance, Splatter, Monad, Pulsar, Hunter’s Moon WHOSE NOT ... Wolf, Mandrill, Mad Jester, Darkos, Johnny Rocket, Thrash, Demons of Hydra MEGATOURNAMENT STANDINGS: CPC 488, Omega’s Heroes 435, Morpheus’s Villains 342 (Omega’s guys going flat out in the final months to try and seal triumph. They have fallen back from quite some way from the CPC but are going to give it everything. With the whole MEGATOURNAMENT drawing to a close it looks very bad for Morpheus. His team scored 0 points last month. Will he resign himself to the fate or give it a big final effort? There are quite a few points up for grabs at THE MEGA SHOW but so far it has not been a happy hunting ground for the villain team. CPC tells Pulsar to buck his game up. Colby doesn’t think he is delivering enough points. This is another relationship unlikely to last beyond the end of this year: On the MVP side of things, the Matador is looking extremely good and there is no team to stop the Gladiators now the Mercenaries are off the tag roster. Krakan doesn’t care, calls the MVP trophy a waste of time gimmick accolade) MVP STANDINGS: SINGLES: Matador 103, Pegasus 84, Janus 68, Mandrill 57, Raven 55, Mayhem 52, Alpha Force 50, Chaos 50, Wolf 42, Vengeance 42, Bishop Hell 39, Colussus 32, Heracles 26, Pulsar 23, Monad 22, Holocaust 21, Mad Jester 20, Max Shield 19, Splatter 15, Enigma 8, Johnny Rocket 1 TAG TEAM: Thunder and Overkill 78, Mercenaries 75, Gamemasters 40, New Order 37, Superiority Complex 27, Generation X 21, Titan Fury 20, Sam’s Squadron 19, Centaurus Cluster 18, Henchmen 10, Flamboyance 4, Pillars of Power 2, Watchmen 2 WOMEN: Amazonia 38, Anaxis 20, Thrash 16, Cassandra 4 WRESTLER OF THE MONTH: Monad – Almost lost out to Vengeance who brilliantly handled Wolf. However, a shocking win over Destructon 3000 deserves to be acknowledged. TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH: Hunter’s Moon – Team with lots of potential and full of excitement. Taken a while to get going but now beginning to gel.

DARK MATCHES #1 - Europa Garden Mayhem beat Bishop Hell by DQ in a non-title match. Close fought. Bishop Hell certainly kept Mayhem on his toes and connects with FLYING CROSS a couple of times. Ends up losing because he then tried to flame Mayhem during an out of ring brawl. Heracles confronts Mayhem after the match daring him to put the Heavyweight belt on the line when they meet on Brymstone. Chose a bad time as Mayhem is already riled after Bishop Hell’s attempt to burn his face off. It’s a big fat no as Mayhem knees Heracles in the stomach. Mayhem then wraps his chain around the neck of Heracles who is now doubled over and chokes him out for the unwanted intrusion.
Wildcat beats Gemini in a performance full of energy. Wildcat has a wild time with WILDCAT STRIKE during the match. First time Gemini kicks out, second time Wildcat missed it and third time Gemini looked done for but the Overlord somehow dragged him out the ring before he could be pinned. Gemini makes a bit of a fight after that near miss but Wildcat is made of tough stuff these days. Abandons the plan to go for the spectacular and hits a couple of flying hammerlocks. The moves knock the stuffing out of Gemini. No way back after that. Maybe Mollock, who was alone at ringside here, is mastering this bodyguard thing. It was a picture of calmness throughout.
Janus gets a solid win over Stalker by DQ. Chilly atmosphere between Morpheus and Janus. That aside Janus does the necessary to win. Although Stalker shows an improvement over some of his recent matches he finds Janus just too good. GORDION KNOT brings about the end. If Mollock hadn’t of interfered Stalker would surely of either submitted or passed out so was destined to lose anyway. Noticeable at the end that Janus makes a pointing gesture at himself whilst looking Morpheus in the eye. As if to say “don’t overlook me again”.
Death’s Head upset Heracles with a DQ win. Rough ride for Death’s Head. Feels the brunt of Heracles best moves including OLYMPIA. Just about kicked out of that one. Probably as surprised as anyone when Heracles then gets bored of the match. Decides to start an argument out of nowhere with the ref over what he claims was a slow count and ended up shoving him. The poor chap who was about half the size of Heracles went flying and took a nasty impact against the turnbuckle.
The Watchmen overwhelm Flamboyance. Fans chant for the Hardcore Harlequin but Killer Queen pretends not to hear them. He’s very much back into playing the flamboyant role for tag team matches. Maxine Babe spends the whole match complaining about the smell. She forgets to try any interfering because of it. Later to incur the wrath of Vanity as she failed to help him out when the Watchmen hit Double Team Mallet and then MARTIAL LAW.
Titan Fury make short work of the Pillars of Power. Having fallen off the top of the tag contenders the Titans get going again. As Lord Nexus says “no problem. We will just work our way up again”. Dragonmaster in magnificent form. Uses martial arts mastery to cut Powerhouse down to size and polishes him off with a double karate hammer.
DARK MATCHES #2 - Brymstone Battle Dome
Archon sends the locals nuts by winning a 10 man battle royal. Blazing Skull was involved along with some of the worst elements in the GWF. The heroic wrestlers involved are outnumbered and at risk of being ganged on. Every single participant is putting themselves at risk of injury should an inferno engulf the ring. It is a scorching atmosphere thanks to the crowd. Random explosions going off all over the place. Order of elimination ... First to go after a long grapple among all guys is Dreadnaught. Painmaster and Draconian Sheik take turns to beat him with the latter using THE TORTURE RACK to help dump him out. Early observations are Blazing Skull and Bishop Hell working together. Archon and Crossfire as the main targets. Although Blazing Skull is very fortunate not be first out as Archon puts him in a number of painful submission holds. Pulsar nearly sends Draconian Sheik out after ACID RAIN. The momentarily blinded Drac almost toppling over the rope on his own but somehow survives. Everyone else is randomly attacking. There were lots of collisions as they all work in a tight space ... Pulsar eliminates Blazing Skull which is sure to cause a riot among the locals. ACID RAIN is deployed again. At least the threat to all the remaining wrestlers from an explosion is now removed ... Stalker manages to remove Bishop Hell. Alpha Force had left Bishop Hell struggling. Stalker moves in with CALL OF THE WILD and then tosses him out. An enraged Bishop Hell uses his wrist device to create circle of fire around the entire ring. The flames are quickly extinguished but it was an ominous sight ... Shortly after that drama, Pulsar bundles Draconian Sheik out. Drac had become transfixed with the sight of the flames and was busy watching leaving himself a sitting duck ... Sadly Pulsar goes next. Perhaps over confident from his performance so far he charges Painmaster near the turnbuckle. Painmaster moves and Pulsar’s momentum takes him out ... Archon gets rid of Painmaster after ELBOW HYPEREXTENSION weakened him. The locals are baying now. There are only heroic types in the four left and they don’t like it ... Stalker amazingly sees off Alpha Force after CALL OF THE WILD. He was seen as one of the rank outsiders but now has a great chance to win. It’ll be tough though as he’s up against Centaurus Cluster. However, given the honourable mantra of Archon he can be assured that he won’t be ganged upon ... After a wonderful battle between the three Stalker eventually eliminates Crossfire as experience wins over youth. Probably for the best as who knows how they crowd would of reacted had it been Centaurus Cluster as the last guys standing. It’s bad enough as it is with Archon poised to win this ... Archon eliminates an exhausted Stalker (has been carrying 6 tokens to Archon’s 0). Stalker hangs on for as long as possible. ELBOW HYPEREXTENSION nearly guides him out but he hangs on. Then ARCHON SLEEPER CLAMP seemed to of put his lights out but Stalker wakes up as Archon tries to eliminate him. Stalker calls on his jungle skills using vines to manipulate his way back through the middle rope. Maybe it’s going to be his night. Or maybe not. A missile launched from within the crowd probably intended for Archon strikes Stalker on the back of the head. He falls backwards and dangles over the top rope before it sags enough under his weight to send him fully over and out. Archon looks horrified. He didn’t want to win it like this. Heracles manages to beat Mayhem by count-out in a non-title match. It’s a different kind of atmosphere to Aethra here on Brymstone but Mayhem likes it. As he witnesses crowds fighting among themselves he smiles and says to the local beast interviewing him “I like all this anarchy. Violence makes me tick”. Heracles doesn’t look too happy. Still has red marks round his neck from where Mayhem choked him with a chain at Europa Garden. He chooses not to make an entry in any kind of sitting position (sofa or throne) as things will get thrown at him. Sometimes the approach down the runway is the worst part of wrestling a match of Brymstone. He even leaves Anaxis behind. For once having actually thought about her safety. At first it looks like he could of used her help. Mayhem overwhelms him immediately and goes for LEAP OF DOOM twice in the opening couple of minutes. Both punishing +5 impacts. Incredibly neither one manages to pin Heracles down. Surely he cannot survive another if it happens. However when that moment arrives he does although it’s a different outcome. Mayhem misses it and the tide turns. Heracles powers back and strikes with OLYMPIA, this isn’t successful either. The match is now looking very unpredictable but ends in favour of Heracles. During an out of ring brawl Mayhem got too near an unprotected part of the crowd (the barrier was only a few feet high and the reinforced glass above it had been smashed). Mayhem started slugging it out with some Brymstone degenerates. Heracles expertly returned himself back into the ring and took the count-out win.
Janus sees off a determined Star Warrior. Feisty start. Star Warrior is a figure of hate on Brymstone. A lit firework is thrown towards him as he comes out. It whistles just in front of his face. Nobody in the crowd at this place ever gets searched and weapons are commonplace. Some uncharacteristic hardcore grappling from Star Warrior as he tries to make up the performance gap. Unfortunately it’s not enough. Janus manages to work the positions and after dizzying Star Warrior with an airplane spin moves in with GORDION KNOT.
Sam’s Squadron stunned Thunder and Overkill. Gladiators slowly coming back to life now the end of 2102 is in sight. Trying to position themselves as contenders again ready to pounce on whoever the sitting champs will be. With a rivalry looming against the Mercenaries it is interesting to see how they will fare against Sam’s team (longtime enemies of the Hitmen). Doesn’t go as they hoped. In a match seriously lacking in incident Justice manages to hoist Overkill up for a reverse piledriver and pins him.
Gemini beats Vyper by DQ in a match with nobody at ringside. Feud between Hunter’s Moon and the Zodiac moving to its conclusion. Had been very even. Gemini is very competitive despite being mainly a tag wrestler but struggles due to the lack of a singles finisher. Luckily (or maybe unluckily) Vyper brandishes his snake, Fido, and the petrified referee calls the bell. Maybe they don’t like snakes on Brymstone either as large portions of the crowd scream at the sight of this serpent.
Cycle Hog and Death’s Head grab victory over Jack of Diamonds and Killer Queen by count-out. Queenie back to being hardcore. Although it goes against the grain of his usual style Jack follows suit. Comes to a messy finish when Hog arms himself with a barbecue grill he’d brought ringside. He had planned to grill burgers after the match. Instead he used it to smash Queenie in the face and the ref lets him get away with it. Exo-King laments Cannibal’s guys afterwards, “they should be locked up and the key thrown away. In my Kingdom I would not tolerate such behaviour”.

***NEWS JUST IN***
The pairings for the first round Interplanetary tournament are published ... Jack of Diamonds-Death’s Head; Mad Jester-Dreadnaught; Stalker-Enigma; Star Warrior-Ram
Card 757 – THE MEGA SHOW – Titan Sportatorium:
(Destructon 3000 is sorry to be the bearer of bad news to Omega but Raven is out of the card at late notice. He aggravated injuries by facing the Matador on #756. Leaves the heroes a bit thin on the ground for the singles matches. Not ideal as they chase a deficit to the CPC. Another switch is Sam’s Squadron replacing the Gamemasters as one of the three tag teams. Sam says “it’s about time” and urges his guys to grasp the opportunity. Morpheus is frustrated as by the luck of the draw neither Janus and Chaos are permitted to wrestle on the show. The same happens to Colby in the tag bracket as the Gladiators get frozen out. Just as well they have a huge winning margin as that could of had some implications)
SINGLES
Colussus bloodies the Matador in a Barbed Wire Cosmic Cage match. Neither guy is too impressed at being plunged into such a brutal match but it was Grogan’s decision. Injuries are guaranteed for the loser. Very apparent that whoever succeeds with a smash into the barbed sides first will be in a good position. It is Colussus who manages it first and the Matador just never gets going after that. Even when the Matador does briefly threaten a fight back the damage falls to the robotic side of Colussus. Not going to be his night. Matador is planted into the cage side about three times in all. Colussus never impacted the barbed wire once. The Titan fans enjoy seeing Colussus dominate even though many of them wince at the brutality of the match up. CYBORG DEATHBLOW is the final nail in the coffin for the Matador. The Hero team will be very happy with this start as they try to make up ground on the CPC in the points standings. That’s 5 on the board already.
Mandrill beats Mad Jester in another Barbed Wire Cosmic Cage battle. Memories of what happened last time Mandrill met Jester in a cage at OTB come flooding back. Payback is the buzz word from Mandrill. Although it doesn’t look like that’ll happen to begin. Jester is unhinged and really offloading. His famed barbed rattle even comes out to double the pain. Mandrill is up to 3 tokens in no time. But these are the sorts of the matches that can turn on a single incident. As Jester goes for another cage smash Mandrill this time gets a hand up to block it. He then manages to reverse the smash attempt and Jester gets a face full of barbs. Although Mandrill is still in pain he now has the advantage. Slowly and methodically beating on Jester and even takes possession of the barbed rattle. Payback is completed as VOLTAIC STUNNER is then used. Jester cackles as the volts pass through his body and then falls limp. Mandrill kneels on him to complete the win.
Max Shield easily defeated Enigma in a Titan Death match. The mind of Enigma is anywhere but here. His eyes are firmly on the upcoming IP tournament. Possibly explains why he was so poor here. Max swats some early high flying attacks and then hits MAXIMUM IMPACT. Match barely goes over a minute. Enigma has barely troubled the point scoring adjudicators ever since joining the villain MEGATOURNAMENT roster.
Alpha Force is in brilliant brawling form to handle Mayhem. Great stuff from Alpha Force. He brawls with Mayhem as an equal and doesn’t let himself get bullied at any point. Attempts with ALPHA STRIKE and TOMAHAWK THRUST during the bout come up short. Any concern that Alpha Force might lose heart after this are soon dismissed. Keeps the pace up and snuffs out anything Mayhem offers. A smash into a ring post sets up another chance with TOMAHAWK THRUST and this time Mayhem has run out of fire and gets pinned. Mega win for Alpha Force over the champ (who is looking vulnerable after a couple of recent non-title losses).
Pulsar defeats Heracles. Finally a victory registered for the CPC tonight. Pulsar almost loses early after he is caught dawdling in the opening moments. Gets mauled in a Heracles Power Clamp and then cannot get out the path of OLYMPIA. Despite the battering manages to snag a rope with his right foot and lives on to fight another day. Serves as a wake up call, Pulsar fights back hard and gets away with ACID RAIN which leads to victory. Heracles is so angered by what happened that he even seems to strike out at Anaxis when she tries to assist him afterwards.
Pegasus canters to a win over Bishop Hell. Pegasus has a good record against Bishop Hell and keeps that going. In cruise control from the start. Barely has to deal with anything from the Bishop. Powers out of an attempted head lock to hit with a sequence of moves that lead into the pin fall, a bone-crunching clothesline followed by a Tomahawk Thrust and finally a display of strength with a Pegasus Press Slam. Pegasus sends a message to the Matador with this performance that he is not giving up yet.
TAG TEAM
Titan Fury blow the Henchmen away. Dragonmaster beats Marcel de Sade after a Cobra Nerve Stopper. The Collector, who was surprisingly at ringside, tried to come in and do something. Not sure what he actually planned to do but he copped a clothesline before Dragonmaster went back to de Sade to finish him off. The Collector looked a sorry sight as he staggers away from the ring rubbing his neck, mumbles “I’m getting too old for all this”. CPC not getting the rub of the green so far tonight. Hoping it will get better as their big hopes, Centaurus Cluster, are on next.
Centaurus Cluster are superior to Superiority Complex. Dramatic opening minute as Centaurus Cluster get an early tongue lashing from Magnus Colby for not cheating. Crowd cheers as Archon jumps off the apron and grabs Colby by the lapels. Colby audibly reminds him “who owns your contract? I can have your GWF career terminated”. To which Archon looks across at Crossfire and reluctantly releases before climbing back onto the ring apron. Seemed to put fire in the belly of Archon for a minute later he takes advantage of Crossfire’s early good work to make Skinhead submit to ELBOW HYPEREXTENSION.
Sam’s Squadron overcome the Watchmen. Sam is clearly happy to be promoted back into the MEGATOURNAMENT. He’s putting on a real show dressed in Stars and Stripes top hat and waistcoat. The big effort to dress to impress is worth it as his Squad delivers. They recover from the setback of Justice missing SHOCK PROBATION against Tocsin and being swiftly subjected to MARTIAL LAW. The finishing sequence is Justice avoiding a turnbuckle smash from Tocsin and then delivering Canon Law. With Tocsin down he makes a swift tag to US. Patriot who doesn’t hold back and immediately moves in with FREEDOM FLYER. A snake eyes roll gets the pin on the stunned Tocsin.
LADIES ROUND ROBIN
Amazonia continues to own Thrash. Can Thrash finally post a victory over Amazonia? It’s been a long, long time since it happened. She’s certainly remaining outspoken and brash. Knows how to rile Amazonia by calling her and Wolf a couple of parasites that go from team to team sucking the life out of them. Problem is she seems to be all talk and no delivery. The match arrives and despite her best efforts Thrash just cannot match Amazonia. Trying to force the issue delivers a Neck Thrasher and throws Amazonia into the turnbuckle. Amazonia is one step ahead of her though, gets an elbow up and Thrash runs straight into it. A quick cover whilst Thrash is still stunned and it’s all over.
Anaxis adds to the gloom of Thrash by defeating her. Anaxis gets her knickers in a twist when she sees Overkill at ringside. Demands the ref sends him away. Looks like the official is too frightened to do much about it. By way of response Anaxis calls towards the end of the runway for Heracles and looks longingly towards the curtain. He doesn’t appear and before she can call again Thrash has already started attacking her. Anaxis soon realised she’s going to have to fight her way out of this predicament or she’s toast. Takes a whole load of punishment but then Thrash, having already wrestled, starts to blow. Anaxis seizes on this. Rattles Thrash and even nullifies the threat of Overkill. Whilst outside the ring found herself stuck between Thrash and Overkill. Looks perilous as Thrash grabs one of her spiked shoulder pads and charges at Anaxis. Just in time Anaxis dives back inside the ring and Thrash clobbers Overkill. The big guy doesn’t go down but he got a spike right in the gut and wheezes momentarily. As Thrash stands in front of him in shock Anaxis reaches through the ropes and forces her into the ring by her hair. Before Thrash can properly process what’s happened Anaxis comes underneath her and hoists her into position for CALL OF THE SIREN. Thrash’s neck hits the top rope hard and she’s beaten. Embarrassment for Thrash and she’d better lie low if she returns to Aethra anytime soon. Amazonia defeated Anaxis. Proof of what a coward Heracles is. He now shows up at ringside. Convenient when there’s not another guy at ringside (Wolf having been hospitalised recently and apparently resting up at undisclosed location). He’s not a great deal of help though. Preferring to walk round the ring arguing with fans who are heckling him and eating grapes. Anaxis finds the going tough. The trauma of the last match having certainly taken its toll. Amazonia is fired up and by the time of her third AMAZON ATTACK pins Anaxis to claim a perfect record in this latest Ladies round robin. Oozing confidence she says she is ready to try and win back the Ladies belt. Even though Supernova is a friend she won’t hesitate to try and take the belt off her.
***MEGA SHOW AFTERMATH***
It is the usual array of stories and injuries. Those special matches sure do take their toll. CPC guys took the brunt of these. The Matador, who never wanted to be forced into a barbed cage, now carries injuries (4) which will hamper when he goes into his Heavyweight belt match against Mayhem later this month. Also Mad Jester was left hurt against Mandrill. His wounds were not quite as serious (1) but still enough to leave him hurt going into the start of the Interplanetary tournament next week. Sonora Pelf accuses GWF officials of setting things up so their wrestlers get injured. The CPC are fined (small change to them) for the outspokenness. In terms of the scoring it was an outstanding night for the hero team and went some way to narrowing the gap at the top. They scored 34 points. The villains manages 9 and the CPC grab a mere 8.

Card 758 – Rhea Forum: (THE LAUNCHING PAD ... SPEAKING TO KRAKAN, MAGNUS COLBY, SONORA PELF ... This interview doesn’t go very far as everyone confronts each other to claim the missing cash from the recent Hitman match between Splatter and Mad Jester. The argument is going round in circles. Krakan demands to be paid what he is owed. Sonora Pelf tells him has been paid and it is not the problem of the CPC that the Hitmen stole the cash ahead of the bout. She even has the cheek to suggest the match is now technically void and the contract is still valid. Steam pours out of Krakan’s ears as it becomes clear the CPC are not going to fork out. Suddenly Splatter, even though he is supposed to be suspended, storms on set to attack with Arsenal. Before he can reach them Mad Jester, who had wrestled earlier and was waiting in the shadows at Colby’s insistence, comes flying in from the side with a Jagged Edge Kick. A wild brawl breaks out and Colby and Pelf scarper. Johnny panics that his stuff is being smashed up again and makes a call on his wristwatch. A fleet of security wades in and somehow gets the two of them apart. Several guys take some heavy hits and a couple of them are left unconscious. Nothing is solved and where this goes now is anyone’s guess. Krakan’s focus next year is on a likely feud with the Gladiators. A war with the CPC might be counter productive. This needs to simmer some more but it was fun writing it. The way I look at it is the likes of Mad Jester and Splatter are so unpredictable they could easily drop this feud just as quickly as it began)
Sam’s Squadron defeated Thunder and Overkill again. The Gladiators have been raging since they lost to Sam’s team in a recent dark match. Wanted a rematch as soon as possible. Sam says “sure, and we’ll beat you again. The Squadron is back to its best and we have been training harder than ever”. It’s a bold claim and despite the well known phrase ‘lightening never strikes twice in the same place’ it happens. Whatever Sam has been feeding his guys lately is obviously working. It’s not even a fortunate win as they go toe to toe with the Gladiators and match them in the brawling stakes. Overkill is once again the weak spot as US. Patriot catches him with FREEDOM FLYER. It’s just as well Mayhem and Vengeance are having success at the moment to keep the Gladitaors credible.
Wildcat overcomes Mesmer. Little side note is Mesmer, whilst at the show, is spotted talking to Commander Sam. Some people report that Sam was telling him to get lost but others said the conversation was far more friendly than that. Could be nothing but worth mentioning. Anyway as for the match it’s the mini feud between the Zodiac and Hunter’s Moon drawing to close and a case of putting a final tick mark in the box. The Overlord is missing from ringside which is interesting. It is soon apparent Mesmer has given the match low priority. Doesn’t offer too much resistance and gets pinned quite easily after WILDCAT STRIKE.
INTERPLANETARY TOURNAMENT - FIRST ROUND:
Jack of Diamonds eliminates Death’s Head by DQ. Cannibal clearly not bothered about trying to capture the belt as he was freely attacking Jack anytime the action was outside. It’s a cheap way for Death’s Head to go out of the tournament but he didn’t seem to care. Exo-King gets a good cheer, using his sceptre to beat the would be attackers off his son. Then backs his son to go all way in the tournament for his first singles gold. In fact Jack is many people’s dark horse to win the vacant strap.
Mad Jester goes into the next round by beating Dreadnaught by DQ. Maybe a measure of the IP belt value that Colby and Pelf choose to put their feet up at Pelf Palace rather than be at ringside. Or maybe they don’t consider Dreadnaught a threat. He is one of their lowest paid employees after all. Doesn’t do much to change their opinion of him. In a rush of blood Dreadnaught grabs a chair because he is under pressure and gets admonished for it. With Jester already carrying an injury it’s not a smart move to try and damage one of the CPC’s prize assets further. Probably not a good idea to go asking for a pay rise anytime soon. Dreadnaught is defiant afterwards. He maintains self belief and said if the match had been booked as Titan Death rules he’d of won it.
Stalker destroys Enigma. For someone rumoured to be considering retirement Stalker doesn’t hold back. Puts some recent losses behind him and serves up one of his greatest ever performances. Totally blows Enigma away and wins with CALL OF THE WILD in a few minutes. Maybe belt success will change his mind about his future plans. Trouble is it then all gets taken away from him as Mollock thinks Enigma is getting up to attack Stalker afterwards. Misreads the situation and comes in and brutalises Enigma. Several officials also get tossed before Mollock calms down again. Just hours after the incident Grogan suspends Stalker for 6 cards and throws him out the tournament. Enigma suffers a 3 card injury which was relatively minor considering the pummelling he got. Whether he is fit enough to compete in the next round remains to be seen but the opportunity is there as Grogan doesn’t want any byes in the tournament.
Ram ends Star Warrior’s dream of a last singles title. In the build up Ram likes to remind everyone that he was once a great multiple IP champion. That fact seems to of been lost in the mists of time. Star Warrior knows his days of success are coming to an end especially in the singles arena and sees this as one last chance to win a belt. He gives it his best shot but finds Ram’s Power a little too much. After being thrown out the ring Ram waits for Star Warrior to climb back in. Star Warrior knows what Ram wants to do but needs to try and get back and beat the count. Ram immediately runs at him and Star Warrior cannot get out the way of RAM CHARGE and is beaten.

***FRIGHT NIGHT UPDATE***
The card line up is almost complete. Latest matches signed ... Castor Chain match, Pegasus-Pulsar. Pegasus needs the points desperately; Cage match, Thantos, Colussus and Alpha Force-Superiority Complex and Heracles. One last big match for Thantos; Feminine Fury-the Enchantresses. This ladies tag feud is still hot; Titan Fury-Demons of Hydra. Titan rivalry with Masked Assassins still simmers; Monad-Killer Queen. Queenie looking for hardcore opponents; Pharaoh Khety-Ursa Major. Lord Nexus encouraging Ursa Major to make a singles push again.
FRIGHT NIGHT FEVER precedes the event and there some matches to set the mood. The stand out bout is the Watchmen against Genesis Prime as a builder towards the big 6 man elimination match. With Wolf out injured it’s really giving this feud between the Colonizers and Genesis a chance to shine again. The second round of the IP belt tournament also takes place on the show. The cosmos is getting behind Jack of Diamonds and hoping he can make it to the championship match. Has paid his dues a long time and deserves it.
Card 759 – FRIGHT NIGHT FEVER - Rhea Forum:
(Not something expected to be reporting but Star Warrior approaches Maxine Babe days before this show at a promotional event. He tells her to leave Vanity and come and be his valet. He says she will be treated with respect on the Champions team. Also a chance to mix with his sister, Supernova, who would welcome another female on the team. Maxine says Star Warrior is deluded. In her words on Spacebook “Why would I leave a sexpert like Vanity for him?” Maybe if he had a belt she’d think differently. Vanity fumes and instantly challenges Star Warrior on the back of this approach to teach him a lesson and prove he is more man. With one more match slot still open on the main FRIGHT NIGHT show there’s a perfect opportunity to throw these two together)
Tag champs, Centaurus Cluster, see off the challenge of Hunter’s Moon. With the Zodiac passing up the chance to challenge again Hunter’s Moon fortuitously find themselves in a championship match. As there is uncertainty over whether Mollock is allowed to be ringside (given Stalker’s suspension) and the fact Colby and Pelf would likely object to it anyway Terak decides to accompany his team solo. After 5 minutes Magnus Colby calls a time out and the ref allows it. Never seen that before. Annoys the whole crowd (even Archon looks dismayed). Reluctantly Crossfire and Archon go to see what he wants. It’s just a plan by them to disrupt Vyper’s flow as he has looked very strong from the start. Comes back to bite them as Vyper leaps through the ropes and plants all their heads together. Centaurus Cluster almost loses by count-out because it. Whilst Vyper looks fired up his partner, Wildcat, is not at the races. Undoes some of the earlier good work as he struggles with Archon. His low pin rating quickly evaporates up against Archon’s submission style. Centaurus Cluster are soon able to finish him off via CROSSFIRE.
Ladies champ, Supernova, keeps her reign going against Ms. Liberty. Great friends meet for the belt. At first Ms. Liberty didn’t want to challenge when she found out she was top contender. Supernova actually encouraged her and said it will be fun to have a competitive bout with the belt on line. They share a hug before the match and then get down to serious action. It’s all going great until Anaxis wades in. The two women see her at ringside just wandering round with her trademark bowl and keep getting distracted by her. Ruining the match as a spectacle until Supernova decides she can take no more. Perched on top of the turnbuckle everyone thinks it is part of a move she will be doing on Ms. Liberty. Instead she swivels and takes Anaxis out with an incredible flying drop kick. Now the ladies can get on with it but the risky move hurt Supernova. Only saving grace is Ms. Liberty lacks a killer instinct to take advantage of it. Supernova may of been in discomfort but she’s still got enough in the locker to win after a beautiful tilt-a-whirl slam. Sportingly Ms. Liberty picks herself up and offers congratulations via a high five and they leave the ring deep in conservation. Anaxis at ringside still hasn’t picked herself up and just gets left behind.
Thantos uses all his experience to overcome Bishop Hell. The nostalgic matches continue for Thantos. This time he comes up against an old partner in crime in Bishop Hell. No pleasant trip down memory lane promised by the Bishop. He calls Thantos weak for returning to the hero side all those years ago and threatens to burn his face off. However threats are just threats and Bishop Hell gets a rude shock when things commence. He cannot believe the energy levels Thantos has. The old master is completely dominating the opening exchanges and it takes Bishop Hell 2 or 3 minutes before he can even register a move and even then it’s only a leg lift. Unfortunately that opening salvo took a lot out of Thantos and as Bishop Hell finally gets some momentum it looks as if Thantos will be sliding to the expected defeat. Think again! Thantos draws Bishop Hell’s fire and finds a second wind with a stunning running lariat doing untold damage. Bishop Hell tumbles to a humiliating defeat.
Genesis Prime beats the Watchmen in under a minute. Dress rehearsal for when the two teams meet on the main show in Titan Death Elimination action and are joined by Max Shield and Mandrill. It’s a key match as the winning team will get a huge confidence boost. Turns out to be a shocking quick win for Genesis Prime as Wraith stuns Tocsin with a Wraith Waistlock Suplex. Naturally the Watchmen don’t take too kindly to the embarrassment. Wraith has barely gotten up from pinning Tocsin when Painmaster ambushes him from behind. Takes a small chain from out his pocket and wraps it around Wraith’s throat. Vertigo gets kicked through the ropes before he can think about helping. Tocsin now recovers and Painmaster hands him a stick to beat Wraith down. Wraith tried his invisibility to get out the situation but cannot manage it as he is too hurt. He just goes a bit grey and flickers. It’s obvious the Watchmen don’t want to hurt him too much. They still want to get their hands on him at FRIGHT NIGHT and not risk getting suspended. The beating leaves Wraith with an injury amounting to 2 cards. So it’s job done as far as they are concerned. As long as they win the next (bigger) match the Watchmen will possibly be forgiven by Mandrill and this humiliating loss can be forgotten.
Dreggs cuts Overkill down to size. Even though the Gladiators are leaning towards a feud against the Hitmen it is good to see the rivalry with WAR is still strong. With New Order about to face the Gladiators here is a singles match to whet the appetite. Dreggs isn’t given much chance as it is expected that he’ll be no match for the crushing power of Overkill. The fact that the huge Gladiator has been caught out in a few matches lately will have him wanting to remind everyone of the devastation he is capable of. Certainly looks like that’s they way it’ll go in the opening stages as Overkill tosses Dreggs round the ring with ease but then he starts to get sloppy. Almost allowing Dreggs to come onto him. The air of confidence soon starts to evaporate as Dreggs gets some good blows in. Suddenly as TWIST AND SHOUT gets used Thrash gets worried and tries to gatecrash. Dreggs fends her off and tries the move again and it is successful.
Skinhead defeated Alpha Force by DQ. Alpha Force has come unstuck against Skinhead in the past. People often forget how good Skinhead is as a singles wrestler and tonight is looking to remind everyone. He is tired of beating old men like Alpha Force “but if that’s the will of the bookers I will do it again”. Both Morpheus and Omega decline their spots at ringside. Preparations are underway for the main show with the cage match pitting Thantos, Colussus and Alpha Force against Superiority Complex and Heracles chiefly on their minds. In the bout Alpha Force is largely in control and even through it is only a two count after ALPHA STRIKE looks like he will soon close out victory. Showing nothing can be taken for granted Skinhead suddenly surges back and after an Elitist Slam gets the best of an out of ring brawl and even gets a somewhat controversial DQ win. Skinhead bragging big time and saying he has the measure of Alpha Force after another win against him.
INTERPLANETARY TOURNAMENT SECOND ROUND:
(After the amount of DQ outcomes that involved the opening round Grogan listens to the fans and rules these will be Titan Death matches to get cleaner finishes)
Mad Jester gets dominated but still beats Jack of Diamonds. Draw throws up a great battle between feuding enemies. Jack needs to keep his wits about them as Jester will be free to get away with all manner of tricks. At least he won’t have to worry about that barbed rattle. Grogan has ordered officials to search the wrestlers before they enter the ring and this dangerous weapon is quickly found and confiscated. Jester giggles as he is then ushered towards the ring but it’s soon no laughing matter as Jack gets the jump on him. Jack is so determined with an incredible 5 pin attempts in the first few minutes (including DIAMOND CUT 3 times). How he doesn’t win is a mystery. Mad Jester manages to steady the ship and then out of nowhere manufactures a cheap victory via a sunset flip and holding the ropes with both hands for leverage. Jack looked gutted.
Enigma beats Ram to progress to the final. Being the kind of guy he is these days and thinking everyone is against him Ram spends a lot of time complaining. Thinks he should be getting a bye into the final as Enigma was already beaten in the last round. He is desperate to win the belt and maybe increase his standing in the CPC structure where he is currently seen as a dogsbody. Even Reynard B. Guile, who was doing some colour commentary with Johnny Rocket, comments that he wished Ram would just shut up and get on with it. Enigma is rumoured to be heavily dosed on painkillers to wrestle through some minor injuries. Despite the ailments Enigma doesn’t give Ram much respite in a frantic opening. Ram manages to weather it all and make a fight of it after a while. Trouble is he then missed a big opportunity with RAM CHARGE and flew outside the ring. Seemed to hamper him and Enigma manages to use a roll up on him to get a sudden pin and now has the chance to go for the belt.

Card 760 – FRIGHT NIGHT – The Dragon’s Lair, Draco:
(I don’t think I’ve ever gone into a big show like this with so many wrestlers either injured or suspended. I’ve got six guys carrying varying degrees of injuries and four out suspended. Not that it matters. Sometimes wrestlers being out gives others a chance to shine)
Heavyweight champ, Mayhem, goes wild against the Matador and loses by DQ. Matador is moody as hell. Still cannot believe the GWF forced him into a brutal barbed wire cage match just weeks before this title match. Mayhem is not the sort of guy you want to be lining up against injured. But if anyone can then the Matador can. He is so adept at adapting to the scenario. Mayhem doesn’t care that the Matador is on the same independent roster. He still aims to maim the Matador for daring to try and take what he has. However his first priority is to take care of Reynard B. Guile who he has found irritating for a long time (there was an acrimonious link up a few years back). Taking hold of his chain and swinging it near B. Guile does the job of driving him halfway up the runway. Then Mayhem fakes to charge him and B. Guile runs off in terror. Being the opportunist that he is Matador comes up behind Mayhem whilst this happens and performs a belly-to-back suplex onto the hard floor to get the match going on the front foot. Mayhem takes his time back to the ring. Probably could of been counted-out but Matador knows a win this way won’t win the belt. He keeps breaking the ref’s count. Anyone who had thought we’d seen the last of Reynard B. Guile is quickly proven wrong. He waits a few minutes and then creeps to ringside. The lure of managing a champion again too much for him to resist staying away. The first Mayhem becomes aware of his presence is when Reynard comes up on the apron to push the top rope down as the Matador Irish whips him. Mayhem’s momentum sends him crashing outside and there is heavy impact with a barrier. Reynard jumps down and moves in to inspect Mayhem. Turns out the Gladiator is not as hurt as he thought. Once Reynard gets close enough Mayhem lunges at him from the ground and pushes him over. As Reynard pathetically crawls backwards to get away the ref tries to get between them. Mayhem has none of it and shoves the ref to one side. Surprisingly before Mayhem can do some serious damage the Matador actually comes out to protect his manager. A flying clothesline from the side of the ring catches Mayhem round the neck and floors him. With a chance to escape offered Reynard takes it and runs away as fast as he can again. However it is frustration for the Matador for as he grabs Mayhem to continue and try and win the belt he hears the bell go. It seems the actions of Mayhem had to led to a disqualification. He doesn’t hang around any longer. Face like thunder but at least the Matador knows another title shot will probably be given to him and he should be fully healed by that time.
Buck Steele/Genocide lifts the roof off by beating Chaos in a cage match. It’s a bleak scenario for Chaos. Leading a faltering villain team and now overshadowed by Genocide as the most powerful entity in the GWF (having lost to him already). Excuses were made but another loss here and he may not be able to recover the respect amongst his peers. Certainly Mandrill on the sidelines will be hoping Chaos fails. Only in the GWF could we have a scenario where Mandrill could be rooting for someone he despises but it would suit his political agenda. Plus he wants to be the first to beat Genocide and receive the plaudits (of course). One big thing is in the favour of Chaos and that is this time Buck Steele is the injured one. When the Colonizers attacked Buck a while back they probably didn’t think it through and appreciate that they were weakening him for this match up. As Buck Steele enters the cage Chaos is already there waiting for him. Buck looks very small up against Chaos in his natural state. He gives an audible gulp as he hears the cage door click shut behind him. The crowd goes quiet as they prepare to lock up but this soon changes to a deafening noise. Within minutes all hell breaks loose. As expected Chaos is battering Buck and after throwing him powerfully into the side of the cage tries to escape. Gets the shock of his life when he gets pulled back at the last moment not by Buck but by Genocide. The transformation happened so fast that you’d of missed it you blinked. This is what the fans wanted and an epic battle now begins. The two behemoths cancelling each other out. It looks like the Alpha Stone would be the achilles of Chaos again but it’s loss of power is only momentary. Relieved Chaos powers back and even puts BOW OF DEFEAT on but struggles to get his arms right round and Genocide bursts out. Suddenly he grabs the startled Chaos in a monster choke slam that shakes the whole cage. Then makes Chaos look light as a feather as he picks him up in an overhead press and slam. Chaos looks in a real bad way as the immense force of impact shudders up his spine. The crowd reaches fever pitch as Genocide screams randomly and goes to the top of the turnbuckle. Launches CORPUS GENOCIDE and Chaos is too hurt to even contemplate trying to get out the way. He is knocked senseless. Genocide struggles to contain his excitement at hitting the move. Runs over to the cage side and before climbing it shakes it violently that it almost comes off the hinges. It’s not the most graceful of escapes but Genocide makes it over and then jumps down almost from the top. Amazing victory. Chaos will take considerable time to get over this ego blow but it sows the seeds of them crossing paths again in the future. Chaos won’t let this defeat fester and will be sure to come after Buck/Genocide looking for revenge in a rematch. What is clear is that Chaos might be the only guy who could beat him. Despite the loss there were moments in the battle that could give hope.
Superiority Complex and Heracles beat Thantos, Colussus and Alpha Force in a cage match. Thantos may not be all that close to his team mates these days but with his retirement looming they want to give him a night to remember. This is probably his last pay per view appearance as he will be unlikely to make the cut for TEAM SUPREME on the Champions team. The Citadel trio arrogantly say it will be a night to remember but for all the wrong reasons. As Prodigy puts it “Thantos should of retired at least two years ago. After tonight he will wish he had”. Takes quite a while for the match to get going. Both sides feeling each other out and making lots of tags. The pace begins to pick up when Thantos catches Skinhead with an awesome piledriver and looks to build on it. Would be fitting if he can be the one who wins the match. Sadly it doesn’t always go to script. Skinhead isn’t as hurt as had been hoped and side steps a body slam attempt and slips on Skinhead’s Sleeper followed by BAD ATTITUDE a couple of times. With Thantos looking vulnerable Superiorty Complex decide it’s time to get this done. Heracles picks up on the intentions and keeps Colussus and Alpha Force occupied. Whilst that happens THE PERFECT TAG FINISHER is executed and Skinhead pins Thantos in the centre of the cage as a result. It’s all very tense after this between the Champions guys. Maybe it’s just the disappointment or perhaps Thantos thinks his team let him down by not coming to his rescue.
Enigma beat Mad Jester to become the IP champion again. Match was fought with Titan Death rules. Been a long road to this match. Word is the likes of Nefarus and Buck Steele are waiting to challenge the winner. Nefarus certainly believes he should be first in line having been, in his words, unfairly stripped of the belt. The subject of the challengers is in danger of overshadowing the match itself. Disrespectful to the guys who have worked hard to reach this final. If Jester can add the IP belt to his OTB hardcore title it will crown a very successful year and certainly provide a return that Colby and Pelf will be pleased with. Enigma’s high flying game might be curtailed by lingering injuries. We saw that in his last match where he wasn’t using the top rope as much and relying even more an illegal tactics. However he seemed much more spritely here. It was a very even match but Enigma ultimately gets the better of it (despite several tokens). Mad Jester is made to pay for his zany behaviour and going outside too often and takes FEET OF FURY as a result. Enigma may not of had a great year on the villain team but he has delivered a belt which is more than can be said for some. Trouble is it’s too little too late.
Titan Death Elimination match, Mandrill and the Watchmen send Max Shield and Genesis Prime to a crushing defeat. Start of a huge night for the Genesis team. If they can win here then they have probably edged the feud against the Colonizers in 2102. Max Shield’s recent wobble against Nefarus aside. They might have to do a lot of covering for Wraith who took a nasty beating on the previous card from the Watchmen and is still feeling the effects. Unfortunately it quickly goes wrong ... The Watchmen eliminate Max Shield with MARTIAL LAW and the plan to protect Wraith goes out the window early; Wraith offers up some hope as he beats Tocsin via SUDDEN DEATH; Mandrill eliminates Vertigo with MUTANT MAULER to leave Genesis in a perilous position; Mandrill pinned Wraith to win for the Colonizers. Painmaster does most of the donkey work and tags Mandrill to finish him off. Wraith battles hard to frustrate Mandrill but ultimately yields to VOLTAIC STUNNER.
Pulsar upset Pegasus in a Castor Chain match. With the Matador getting a title shot it was important that Pegasus signed a match with point scoring implications. Pulsar seems to be a strange opponent given there is no real heat or back story but if Pegasus wanted to wrestle he had to take the best opponent available. With an extra point on line for special matches Pegasus made sure there was an extra stipulation. A single point could be critical come the end of MEGATOURNAMENT and Castor Chain matches are rare in the GWF so it was good to see something different. Maybe Pegasus was guilty of being over confident though as he slumps to a crushing defeat. Although it looked business as usual at the start and he even was the only one to use the chain in any meaningful way it goes horribly wrong. Pulsar gets a quick turnaround and nails WHIRLWIND to get the pin (another of those snake eyes rolls). Gets described as a sucker punch in the aftermath. Surely that’s it though. Too hard to catch the Matador now especially if he goes and reclaims the Heavyweight belt later. Colby and Pelf rumoured to be very happy at the unexpected points boost Pulsar provides from this match and readying a cash bonus (small change to them and will pale into significance against what they’ll make should they win MEGATOURNAMENT).
Thunder and Overkill come good when it matters and defeat New Order. Mace has been guilt plagued ever since he fell out with Destructon 3000 and is trying to make amends. Still has a hair trigger temper but he’s trying his best. A big performance against the Gladiators is the perfect way to make it up. New Order needs to be careful though. After suffering some losses the Gladiators are like wounded animals and some team is surely going to cop it soon. In a close match up which goes just a shade under ten minutes New Order look the likelier winners. Good link up and Overkill struggling against the quickness of Dreggs again. Unfortunately Mace drops the ball. Misses a turnbuckle charge against Overkill. He then suffers after Overkill administers a brutal beating comprising TURNBUCKLE TRAP, a Gladiator Piledriver and finally DECAPITATOR. Thrash did just about enough to slow Dreggs move into the ring as he got there a split second too late to help his partner. Star Warrior defeats Vanity in a match to prove who is the better man. The background was that Vanity has come after Star Warrior for daring to come onto Maxine. She is a hard woman to resist but Star Warrior keeps saying he was just trying to give her path out of a poisonous relationship. His good intentions have been misread. It is a shaky start from Star Warrior. Despite being hot favourite to win has to evade an early pin attempt. He got nailed and hit with a Stud Stomp after being too busy stargazing (Maxine Babe gyrating in his field of vision). Vanity thinks he’s got this won after that and takes his foot off the gas. Almost playing games with Star Warrior. Do that at your peril. Star Warrior sees Vanity going for a top rope move and stays down longer than he needs. As Vanity showboats from his perched position Star Warrior just waits. When the attempted body smash comes he easily rolls out the way and pins the stunned Vanity. Showing just how little she values loyalty Maxine Babe now tries to leave with Star Warrior. He spurns her advances by saying “forget it, you had your chance” and leaves her to go crawling back to Vanity. He is none the wiser that she’d tried to go off with the winner.
The Enchantresses get the better of Feminine Fury. The ladies are putting on a show even before the match happens. Supernova and Ms. Liberty get set upon by Anaxis and Cassandra as they arrive at the venue. Fans are shocked at the sneak attack but unable to help as Cassandra moves to keep them back with her dominatrix whip. She is unaware that behind her Supernova and Ms. Liberty have recovered from the surprise attack and are getting the better of Anaxis. Supernova manages to slam Anaxis across the front of a hover vehicle whilst Ms. Liberty comes up behind Cassandra and snatches the whip from her grasp. It didn’t need that build up but these events certainly explain the hostilities come match time. Could the Enchantresses work together though? Both are trying to be the centre of attention and almost get into their own cat fight over who will start off. Eventually they sort themselves and a good match plays out. Feminine Fury may of won the earlier brawl but unfortunately they lose when it matters. The Enchantresses take the win with Anaxis scoring the crucial fall on Ms. Liberty after CALL OF THE SIREN. It’s a tough pill to swallow but Supernova admits the other team were better “they’ve come a long way since we beat them at DEIMOS PERENNIAL. As much as I dislike her Anaxis is probably the best female wrestler in the fed at the moment. She made the difference tonight”.
Titan Fury too slick for the Demons of Hydra. The Titans are still patiently working their way back up the rankings. They’ve been so close to glory a few times but still await those belts. Lord Nexus says all the right things in public but deep down worries they might be going the some away as his legendary Titan Power tag team. For all their great matches and huge respect Titan Power only ever held the belts once and it was one of the briefest reigns in history. Some record books don’t even list them as a holder as they failed to make one successful defence. Darkos has already picked up on this fact and does plenty of jibing in most of the build up about how Titan Fury is a carbon copy of Titan Power and equally as overrated. Perhaps that serves to inspire the Titans though. Dragonmaster showing great determination in the match to kick out of THE FINAL ORACLE and comeback to pin Demon after a botched top rope move.
Monad overcomes Killer Queen. Queenie loving his alter ego as the Hardcore Harlequin. Might want to think about his approach though as being cunning and quick is probably the best way to take Monad on. Those four arms can quickly overwhelm anyone. That’s certainly how it starts but Queenie does make a brief and surprising fight of it. Johnny Rocket even stopped chiming into his mic for a moment as Killer Queen covers Monad after a Punk Piledriver. He looks mighty relieved when two of Monad’s limbs reach a rope. The scare springs another Monad wave of attacks and QUADRUPLE CLAMP brings about Queenie’s demise.
Ursa Major makes short work of Pharaoh Khety. Undercard action. Khety comes out looking his usual paranoid self but where is the Occult Overlord? Without his manager Khety looks even more clueless inside the ring than usual. Is quickly polished off via SHOTGUN CRADLE.

Latest News:
Omega has been acting as an agony aunt to Jack of Diamonds in the wake of his failure in the recent tournament for the vacant IP belt. With his father, Exo-King, struggling to make the transition from wrestler to full time manager he tells his son that he could do worse than to open up and seek some advice from someone like Omega. For a while now Jack has been ready to step up to the next level and Omega always has time for a fellow hero wrestler. Like the Titans before him Jack joins the Champions for a few training sessions. Exo-King also comes along to help pick up some coaching tips too. Jack might even team up with Alpha Force at a card in a few weeks after the two struck it off. When Qualitar asked about the possibility Jack said “I don’t know but it would be an honour if it happened”. Janus has muddied the waters within the Citadel. He was furious Morpheus passed him over for OTB selection and told him he might as well join the CPC if that’s how he is going to to be treated. Seeing how the Matador has flourished under Colby and Pelf has got into his head. Chaos tries to convince him to wait it out. Morpheus will be gone soon and things could be very different. Will Janus wait that long? If Colby and Pelf think they can get someone on board with his credentials they might come in with an offer that cannot be refused. Vanity rages that Star Warrior made what he calls a pass at Maxine Babe. Turns out Star Warrior had been smitten with her ever since he saw a pic of Maxine posing for the front cover of GWI mag in her skimpy wrestling costume a few years ago. He didn’t think such a storm would come out of it all. For what it’s worth Star Warrior manages to beat Vanity at FRIGHT NIGHT despite the provocative behaviour and online attacks suffered. When Maxine Babe suddenly tried to switch allegiance he came to his senses and gave her the brush off. Star Warrior is now trying to close the door on this sorry episode but will Vanity and Maxine let it go? The whole story has certainly elevated them up the card. Perhaps Star Warrior and his sister, Supernova, need some lessons in the social media side of things as they have been put through it at different times by Maxine Babe. Unfortunately what is said online is as much a part of the game as what is done inside the ring these days.
The Brymstone Battle Royal ended with Archon emerging victorious. What a place to do it. May of been a dark show but bootleg videos soon made it onto the web. Centaurus Cluster need to watch their backs now. Blazing Skull hated being embarrassed and will be eyeing up revenge. Wonder what form that may take because, as seen before, Blazing Skull’s reach extends beyond Brymstone.
Krakan publicly washes his hands of the CPC, “I’m not going after the money from those Scrooges. The Hitmen are done with them for now. We’ve got more pressing things to attend to. But nobody crosses Krakan and I warn them we could be back at anytime to claim what’s rightfully ours”. Those words make it more certain than ever that a feud with the Gladiators will happen as Krakan is making sure the team’s schedule is clear.
The Brotherhood is only being held together by elastic bands. The Occult Overlord does not appear at ringside at any of the live shows during the past month. Will the Overlord dissolve the team knowing they are all pretty much against him?
Vengeance thinking about challenging the new IP champ, Enigma, as soon as his suspension finishes. It’s not the belt he wants but with Mayhem blocking his path to the main belt he has decided to settle for the secondary belt. Of course as soon as an opening arises he will look to go for the big one but as the self proclaimed leader of the Gladiators he feels he needs a belt of some kind round his waist. He might find some other guys in his way though. Strangely Colussus is also looking longingly at the belt. His status as a former Heavyweight champ and co holder of the tag straps would normally place him above the IP division. However Colussus sees that he’s probably below some of the other heroes in the pecking order now and that he has done it all apart from hold the IP belt. Why not add that feather to the cap. There are also the likes of Pulsar, Buck Steele and Nefarus making designs on it too. Having beaten Enigma recently Stalker also has a strong case. The Interplanetary belt battle has never been more competitive!
Terak gives a huge hint his wrestling days are coming to an end. He was troubled by Mollock again losing control during a match. It cost Stalker a chance to go for the IP strap. He needs to try and teach Mollock the right time to use its physicality and when to back off. Without the distraction of having to wrestle himself Terak stands a better chance of doing it.
Could Reynard B. Guile be forced to step in the ring with Mayhem? The Gladiator asks (more like demands) that Colby and Pelf give him 5 minutes in the ring with that skinny runt to make him pay for his actions at FRIGHT NIGHT. It awakened all the feelings of contempt Mayhem has for B. Guile. Colby thinks it’s fun and if enough cash is waved B. Guile’s way could happen. Reynard is reportedly terrified but knows if he doesn’t comply then he might lose favour with his employers. If Mayhem does get his match against B. Guile it is sure to make Wolf mad with jealousy. It’s happened before a long time ago but Wolf would love to get his hands on B. Guile again.
With things mathematically confirmed Morpheus is looking to go out with a bang. He now looks towards TEAM SUPREME in just over a month and vows he will lead the Citadel team to victory there.
FRIGHT NIGHT TALKING POINTS ... Mayhem holds onto the belt by taking the DQ. The Matador will be expecting a rematch ... Genocide gets the better of Chaos again. Will Chaos let things lie or be back to challenge him again ... Mixed fortunes for the Genesis team. Vertigo says the team needs to more consistent ... The last pay per view event for Thantos ends in defeat. He thinks his team mates could done more to help him ... Enigma fills the IP belt vacancy. Having won the belt 3 times now he should be considered to be one of the most successful IP champions ever. Trouble was on both previous occasions he dropped the belt on his first defences.
INJURED – Matador (1); Enigma (1); Wraith (1); SUSPENDED – Vengeance (3), Stalker (4); Splatter (5) WHOSE HOT ... Pulsar, Enigma, Buck Steele, Skinhead, Wildcat, Janus, Anaxis, Amazonia, Titan Fury, Sam’s Squadron, Centaurus Cluster WHOSE NOT ... Mayhem, Chaos, Bishop Hell, Vanity, Killer Queen, Dreadnaught, Thrash, Ms. Liberty, Demons of Hydra, the Watchmen, Pillars of Power
MEGATOURNAMENT STANDINGS: CPC 510, Omega’s Heroes 477, Morpheus’s Villains 357 (Just two months to go. There is CPC frustration as the Heroes claim key victories on THE MEGA SHOW. You can’t put a price on that. Can Omega keep this up and burst the bubble of Colby and Pelf by guiding his team to first place? It is now completely impossible for Morpheus to save himself. Although it’s been on the cards for quite a while it is now a mathematical certainty even allowing for the large amount of points on offer in the final couple of months. Morpheus blames everyone but himself for the failing but aims to end his GWF career on a high by steering his team to consolation victories. In the MVP race the Matador looks very close to winning. Pegasus has fallen away despite a gallant effort. On the tag team side the Gladiators are stumbling towards the line. I cannot believe how well Centaurus Cluster have done. I thought they were a decent team but they have held the belts and are building a solid reign. Shame Crossfire's death is just around the corner. Wonder whether they'll still hold the belts when it happens?

Card 761 – Niagara Tower of Lights: Alpha Force dealt another hammer blow to Chaos. Always a classic. Chaos looks vulnerable after his recent loss to Buck Steele. Any attempt to repair that damage goes up in smoke as he suffers another disastrous defeat. Having seen Chaos hit Indestructible Drop in the first move Omega feared his son was about to suffer the nasty after effects of Chaos responding to his setback at FRIGHT NIGHT. However, that’s about as good as it gets for Chaos. Alpha Force gets himself outside the ring, wins the prevailing brawl and then floors Chaos with an awesome flying clothesline right off the top rope. As soon as Chaos gets to his feet again Alpha Force winds up and unleashes TOMAHAWK THRUST. Morpheus cannot believe it and tries to rush the ring but Alpha Force takes him down too. Chaos is only just starting to move but Alpha Force pounces straight back on him with a forceful elbow right in the back of the head. Chaos, who had been on all fours, collapses front first to the canvas as his arms give way and Alpha Force turns him over to pin him. Got that all done in about a minute.
Alpha Force is a bit of a lucky boy. His numbers came up and if not for Splatter being suspended he would of been the next victim. I’m not sure how others implement the lottery but if Splatter is suspended (sometimes even injured) I don’t go through with the attack. My reason being that the suspensions can run out of control and too many injured guys can be frustrating. Also can wreak havoc with my planning and scheduling. Marcel de Sade upset Thantos. Both about to retire so this seemed a good idea for a booking. The fact they were old partners on the villain team way back when the code was broken gives it an added edge. Thantos expects to win but ends up having a mare. Struggles to get any rhythm as Marcel de Sade probably wrestled his best match in years. Thantos even needed treatment on his hand after being subjected to THUMBSCREW twice. Thantos wants a rematch and claims “I underestimated him and failed to prepare properly”. Marcel de Sade says “ok. If you want to get beaten again. Face it old man, your past it”.
Those dice just don’t always go how you hope. Having recently beaten Bishop Hell I really wanted Thantos to build on that. Go out in a blaze a glory by winning matches against various old partners in crime. I’ll schedule a rematch and hopefully he can get his respect back before he retires. The Watchmen beat Max Shield and Buck Steele by DQ. The Watchmen rubbing Max and Buck’s faces in it after Genesis lost to the Colonizers at FRIGHT NIGHT. Careful, don’t get Buck too angry. We’ve all seen what he did to Chaos. The Watchmen play things tactical and try their best to keep Max in and Buck out the ring but it doesn’t happen that way. In the end they perform MARTIAL LAW on Buck and hope for the best. The inevitable happens and Genocide appears. Max just stands on the apron and lets Genocide get on with it. Not that he’ll be in any mood to tag out. Unfortunately after smashing Painmaster with CORPUS GENOCIDE and Tocsin storming in to stop the pin (although in reality Tocsin just got flung off and Buck got so preoccupied attacking him that he forgot to try and pin Painmaster) it intensifies the rage. Genocide gets so out of control that the ref calls DQ in the interests of everyone’s safety. All everyone can do is get out of the ring and wait for Genocide to calm down and for Buck to return.
The Mercenaries overcome Generation X by DQ. Waste of time Generation X showing up for this rankings match. They seem to have no interest in wrestling or getting a result. Grunge whacking Vigilante with an illegal foreign object. Doesn’t even attempt to try and conceal it. Johnny Rocket isn’t worried by all the criticism. He says “without wanting to give too much away plans are underway to reimagine the team next year. The guys want success and will be trying much harder”. Believe that when and if we see it. Raven makes pretty short work of Killer Queen. Raven trying to ease back in after injury problems. Secures a good result without being tested too much. Vanity refuses to let Maxine Babe accompany Queenie. After recent shenanigans involving Star Warrior he doesn’t trust her. Queenie could of done with her help as he is powerless to stop himself plunging to defeat after BLADERUNNER.
Ursa Major easily defeated Zoauve. Ursa Major seems to be at the top his game lately. Okay opponents have been of the weaker variety but he’s polishing them all off no problem. That trend continues as he needs just a couple of minutes to beat Zouave thanks to a flying cross body off the top rope.

Card 762 – Niagara Tower of Lights:
(There is a buzz and last minute rush for tickets. Word has got out earlier in the day that Reynard B. Guile will be facing Mayhem. Aiming to get it over as soon as possible Reynard relents. It had originally been billed as Mayhem against a mystery opponent. There had been some speculation that it was going to be Spike in a one off match approved by Thakur but now the identity is known)
Interplanetary champ, Enigma, keeps hold of the belt beating Pulsar by DQ. Two respected IP champions contesting the belt. Enigma having won it three times (including this one) and Pulsar as a past holder who enjoyed a solid 22 card reign over a year ago. Pulsar says he will have no problem using ACID RAIN to help him win it, “my motto is to fight fire with fire. Enigma may not shoot flames from his wrists but he is as sneaky as they come and deserves everything that is coming to him”. Only problem is he’ll need to do it without the help of the Collector who has now more or less washed his hands of the GWF. Darkos, when he learns of this, brags there is no way Pulsar can dethrone Enigma now. In a gripping and lengthy match Enigma struggles to get a handle on Pulsar’s aggressive and technical style. Perhaps Enigma is guilty of cutting corners. Trying to go for his spectacular moves too early and not doing enough damage or work beforehand. Against a technical wrestler like Pulsar it’s not so easy to purely rely on agility. Even though Pulsar goes outside a few times Enigma also cannot seem to get him lined up for FEET OF FURY. He does manage it inside the ring once but Pulsar easily kicked out. Pulsar has always had excellent stamina and excelled in long matches. For that reason he starts to get on top having drawn most of Enigma’s fire. Goes for a big finish when he thinks the ref isn’t fully concentrated and unleashes ACID RAIN. As much as it will pain Pulsar to say it this is where he missed the Collector. The ref noticed what he had done and immediately called the DQ. Darkos looks happy. Doesn’t care that Enigma is writhing in agony and holding his face on the floor. All he seemed to care about was the belt and the fact that Enigma had finally made his first ever successful defence. Mayhem against Reynard B. Guile ends double DQ in a non-title match. Everyone’s been waiting for this. Reynard forced into the ring against Mayhem. Wonder how much Colby and Pelf are paying him to do it? Word is Reynard tried to get them to allow him to bring someone like Holocaust to ringside to help in case he is getting beat up too bad. But they refused! The first thing Reynard does as the bell goes is dart out the ring and showing a surprise agility hurdles the nearest crowd barrier to try and head for the hills and take a count-out loss. No such luck, the crowd aren’t letting him get out of this and throw him back. Mayhem cannot wait to get started. He playfully allows Reynard to put him a headlock to start and then lifts him clean off the floor and throws him across the ring. However it doesn’t go to plan after this. Amazingly Mayhem fails with DANGER ZONE as Reynard falls near the ropes and accidentally snags his leg on the rope. That’s enough for the ref to break the pin count. Then Mayhem misses LEAP OF DOOM. Too confident and not bothering to time it properly. As Mayhem tries to get himself together Reynard punches him in the throat and floors Mayhem. How is he getting enough force into the punches? What nobody realises is that Reynard has a concealed sharp object in his hand and using it to stick into Mayhem’s windpipe. He then attempts GAMEKEEPER TRAP and although Mayhem throws him off straight away (double 6) the fact he even got it on is astounding. Mayhem forces himself to get going again and manages to floor Reynard but is wobbly. So when he tries LEAP OF DOOM again it’s another miss. Reynard can’t believe his luck and tries GAMEKEEPER TRAP a second time. Mayhem has had enough. Forces Reynard off him again by backing him into a buckle and then throws him outside. He is ready to rip Reynard apart for this embarrassment. The ref tries to block Mayhem but gets shoved aside. . As Reynard runs round the ring trying to evade Mayhem he hears the bell go and it dawns on him that he might of won the match. B. Guile throws his arms up in joy. However the ref now sees the sharp object he was carrying drop out of his wrestling suit and realises that must of been the only way he’d been able to hurt Mayhem. Immediately changes his mind on the decision and tells the announcer to relay a result of a double DQ. The chase went on but eventually Reynard lost his footing and found himself hemmed in. Mayhem finally gets revenge. Picks Reynard up and throws him back into the ring. This time he is not going to miss with LEAP OF DOOM. It’s a ferocious impact and leaves B. Guile barely moving. Mayhem then slams Reynard’s head into the mat several times before running off still looking angry. Poor Reynard is stretchered away and later airlifted to hospital for treatment. Marcel de Sade defeats Wolf by DQ. A match with historical significance. They had a wild feud in late 2086/2087 when de Sade masqueraded as the Executioner. Hostilities now renewed. Marcel de Sade is in high spirits after a shock defeat of Thantos on the previous card. Wolf aims to put him back in his place. Certainly looks that way when within a handful of moves Wolf latches on with SAVAGE FACE CLAW. However de Sade draws on the experience of all those past meetings. Knows full well the best way of surviving the move is a punch to Wolf’s crotch if he can reach. Despite the pain he delivers the blow and Wolf releases. Marcel de Sade scrambles to the turnbuckle to try and recover as fast as he can. Unfortunately for him Wolf gets it together faster and gets his breath back. The red mist descends so de Sade takes evasive action and slides outside the ring and desperately seeks out a weapon. Just looking for anything he can get his hands on. There’s just not enough time. Wolf jumps out snarling and drives him straight into a ring post and then briefly re-applies his claw hold before smashing the back of de Sade’s head into the post again. The disqualification outcome is inevitable but Wolf doesn’t care. He just wanted to punish his old enemy one last time. The result didn’t matter. But it must be remembered that for the first time in many, many years Marcel de Sade is in a hot streak of form. Back to back to wins against Thantos and Wolf. No matter what went on that is what the record books will always say. Marcel de Sade tells GWI magazine in an exclusive interview that maybe he should try and beat someone like Chaos now. Perhaps he should quit whilst he’s ahead!
Darkos beat Terak in a swift match. No Mollock at ringside. Terak announces before the match that Mollock has returned to the Savage Kingdom zoo and will probably stay there for the remains of the year ready to return in 2103 after an interesting debut year as bodyguard. Pollux, who has been very quiet throughout 2102, is trying to make a name for himself by coming out and getting involved and helping Darkos. He thinks he fits in with the Masked Assassins and can be part of their developing team. Darkos plays along, makes him feel wanted. Uses him to gain advantage as Pollux distracts Terak allowing Darkos to nail him with a cross body and score an easy pin. Pollux comes into the ring and lifts his arms up. Just as he does that Darkos takes him down. Darkos then stands over him and shouts “you’re a joke. Why would we take someone who loses every single match on? The Masked Assassins are the fastest growing team in the GWF and you would drag us down”. Even Terak felt sorry for him but didn’t want to get too close in case Pollux latches onto him and his team at a later date. Titan Death Matches
Pegasus and Colussus link up to beat Superiority Complex. Long match. Pegasus and Colussus struggle with the pace to begin and lack fluidity. Pegasus is grateful to Colussus for making a daring rescue after he is on the end of THE PERFECT TAG FINISHER. The Champions recover and crank out a decent win after Colussus nails Skinhead with CYBORG DEATHBLOW. It doesn’t completely repair the damage of the FRIGHT NIGHT loss to the Citadel team in the 6 man tag bout but Omega was pleased with the result. It may not of mattered too much in the grand scheme of things but Omega is a proud man and would of been hurting.
Cannibal and Mutant overwhelm Exo-King and Jack of Diamonds. Neither Jack or Mutant ever got into the ring. Cannibal showed he is still dangerous and had Exo-King reeling from the start. Didn’t take long to slip THROAT SLIT. With no rules there was nothing to stop him applying it multiple times and Exo-King despite desperately grabbing at this throat just couldn’t fight it.
