Card 795 – Pelf Palace:
(There was a lot going in the VIP gallery tonight. Not only was there an incident relating to invited guest, Omega, but Pulsar was in there playing games with Colby and Pelf. In response to being banned from Pelf Palace late last year he decides to show up anyway. Wearing a hooded cloak he manages to somehow get himself past security and seated behind them both in the VIP gallery. Colby and Pelf have a bad night of viewing as he intercepts food and drinks orders placed to their servants. The finest foods get replaced with disgusting variations from around the galaxy. At one point Pelf is unknowingly tucking into meatballs laced with dung. She declares it one of the tastiest things she has ever sampled. Pulsar can barely keep his amusement under wraps. He has difficulty holding himself back when Omega is set upon and thrown out by the Upstart Punks. However he doesn’t want to blow his cover so stays quietly seated. Maybe as further payback for this he decides that Colby and Pelf’s drinks better get the treatment too with their potency being ramped up to dangerous levels. At the end of the night Colby and Pelf are in a hell of a state and need to be carried out. Images of them projectile vomiting and being carted off make headline news across the cosmos the next day. Sonora Pelf refuses to leave her private quarters in Pelf Palace for days afterwards)
Dark Justice deepens the despair of the Matador. Matador moodier than ever. The failure at GALACTICON still plaguing him. Justice trying to get under Matador’s skin and open some old wounds by calling Chaos the greatest champion the GWF has ever seen. Even winding the Matador up by ridiculing his legendary IP belt reign, “Matador thinks he is the greatest champion ever for holding that belt for almost 100 cards. But the truth is it is a secondary belt for a second rate wrestler. I’ve achieved more than him with my countless tag belt reigns. Tonight I will take him apart in singles action right in front of his employers”. Bold words from Justice but he needs to back them up. His villain turn hasn’t been very successful so far. But this was a huge step in the right direction. In a match with some dramatic swings Justice takes a major scalp. Justice did fantastically to get into a strong position and hits SHOCK PROBATION (+2). Matador kicks out and when Justice tries it immediately again and this time misses it looks like he’s blown it. Matador quick to pounce on the mistake and nail BULLWHIP. However Justice gets a shoulder up and stays in the match. Still looking like he is in big trouble though but then a rare mistake from Matador. Throws Justice into the turnbuckle but takes too long to follow it up. The resulting charge sees Justice dodge out the way and he managed to quickly roll Matador up after he collided and staggered backwards (good old snake eyes roll). The spotlight quickly moves from the winner, Justice, and up into the VIP gallery. Magnus Colby and Sonora Pelf are violently throwing up before both of them collapse into drunk heaps. Pelf’s ultra expensive dress is ruined by Colby’s vomit. Everyone wonders what was going on.
Sleeze defeats Mace after setting a clever trap. X-Termination trying to come back from the GALACTICON low. Sleeze now thinking a good tactic is to create friction between Mace and Dreggs to get an advantage. Sets up a fake Spacebook account in the name of Dreggs and starts posting slurs against Mace. Being pretty hot headed and the type to react without thinking Mace falls into the trap initially. Begins attacking Dreggs verbally back before he realises he has been duped. Trouble is some damage has been done as Dreggs now knows Mace thinks he is weak and the reason New Order has only ever held the tag belts for one very brief period. It’s going to be tough to get past this. Dreggs realises Mace was lured but struggles to forgive the comments. Not helped by the fact that Mace doesn’t do apologies. Come the actual match Mace literally has steam coming out of his ears. He wants to make mincemeat out of Sleeze. Johnny Rocket looks nervous. Hoping they haven’t awakened a beast and that Mace will lack composure and blow the match by DQ due to his rage. The plan just about works. Mace struggles to put it together and despite taking some heavy hits Sleeze snatches a victory. Although it’s in large part thanks to Johnny Rocket. Mace was pinning Sleeze when Johnny reached over and rang the timekeeper’s bell. Whilst everyone is confused and Mace is ranting over it Sleeze recovers to attack with METALHEAD MAULER and win the match. Mace’s anger worked against him. Vital points for the Rocketmen and a possible wedge driven between New Order. A good night’s work for them.
Enigma surprises the title match bound Pegasus. One last match for Pegasus to get in gear for his huge title clash with Chaos next. He wants to show he is 100% ready. Omega is in the CPC viewing gallery to watch having been invited by Magnus Colby. It’s a trap as Sonora Pelf suddenly gets up after a few minutes and accuses him of trespassing. His intrusion on forbidden territory leads to him being set upon by the Upstart Punks. Omega is beaten up and thrown out the back of Palace into an area for waste collection. The CPC are trying to get themselves in a high profile position again and trigger a feud with the Champions team. Omega later says of what happened to him “I know what Colby and Pelf are trying to do but there’s no way they will be successful. Our priority is our SUDDEN DEATH battle with Sam’s team”. The whole incident perhaps served to distract Pegasus badly. He fails to nullify Enigma’s lively start and whilst trying to get himself out the ring is hit with FEET OF FURY for the second time in the match. Darkos senses a big upset and pushes Pegasus back in the ring as fast as he can. Enigma rushes over and covers Pegasus to steal the win. Not ideal prep for Pegasus. His winning run comes to an end. Can he bounce back against Chaos?
Mandrill puts Blizzard in his place. Is Blizzard biting off too much by putting himself up against Mandrill? He has been trying to keep his nose clean and not get into anymore misdemeanours. But once a hothead always a hothead. Immediately starts the match by running towards Ram and trying to attack him. He nearly gets disqualified before things have even started. Eventually he calms himself enough to start the match but is slowed down almost straight away by a Prime Piledriver. Mandrill takes his time before ultimately zapping Blizzard with VOLTAIC STUNNER. Ram is still too hurt outside to pull off an effective distraction. He took an iceball right in the face but it doesn’t matter. The ref either didn’t see the illegal move or just doesn’t care and makes the pin count. Probably just turned a blind eye as Blizzard had not endeared himself after that wild opening. Splatter chops Overkill down to size. The Gladiators wrestling lots of singles matches at the moment. Overkill and Thunder don’t look nearly as effective outside of tag competition. But when you are as big and powerful as Overkill nobody is going to suggest otherwise. It proves to be a costly mistake though as Splatter uses violence to beat the big man down and then pins him after THE SHREDDER. There’s still a long way to go but this is not going well for the Gladiators against the Hitmen. Nobody would of seen this coming.
Genesis Prime see off the Upstart Punks. Genesis Prime are hot and looking to teach these Punks a lesson. Word on the street is that they are being groomed as potential tag champions and the Commissioner wants to give them a big push. They have little problem here with the Punks and wipe the arrogant smiles of their smug faces. Wraith nailing Taurine with SUDDEN DEATH to finish it off.

Card 796 – SATURDAY NIGHT STARSLAMMERS – Deimos Intergalactic Arena: (INTRO … The cameras pan round the Intergalactic arena before stopping to focus on Qualitar and Omega sitting in the broadcast booth. Qualitar: "Hey fans, welcome to STARSLAMMERS, it's Qualitar here and I cannot tell you how priveleged I am to be joined by the living legend Omega. Glad to see you’re looking okay after that stunt the CPC pulled last week”. Omega: “Sure. Those Punks didn’t hurt me. Just a few scratches that’s all. Just want to put that behind me and focus on managing my team”. Qualitar: “Good to hear. Time to look forwards to what promises to be a classic show. Are you as excited as me?" Omega: "Oh you bet Qualitar, there's some great matches scheduled tonight. Just the sort of incredible entertainment one comes to expect of the GWF". Qualitar: "You certainly got that right. You have a lot of interest in tonight’s bouts, thoughts?" Omega: "I'm confident my men will uphold the formidable reputation we at the Champions of the Galaxy have built up otherwise I'd be down there at ringside and not sitting here talking to you. But I'm warning Mesmer and Commando Sam - You better not pull any tricks or you'll be sorry. I’m an honourable man but I do have my limits" Qualitar: "Tricks or no tricks they are certainly going to be titanic tussles which will long live in our memories. Hey, thank god we're not on Kronos, ha, ha!" Omega: "You said it. We're certainly in for a terrific show” Qualitar: "Oh I can barely talk above this crowd so let's go to ringside, brrr, I feel a chill”) Heavyweight champ, Chaos, defends against Pegasus after a huge distraction. Gigantic meeting in the feud between the Stormtroopers and the Champions with gold at the end of the rainbow. Been receiving a huge build in the recent shows. Despite a shock loss to Enigma on the last show Pegasus has been looking hot and Chaos has built up his invincible persona again. It’s almost like he’s never been beaten before the way he is being portrayed. Commando Sam is mega pumped up. Brags this is the greatest combat unit he has ever led and Chaos is his top guy. Omega will soon discover that there is a big difference between the two team captains after this. In his pre match interview Sam doesn’t need a mic from shouting so loud “Pegasus would never survive in the Stormtroopers. He hasn’t got the stomach for it. If he can’t beat Enigma then what chance does he have against Chaos. And as long as he keeps listening to that retarded old man, Omega, he will never defeat him. He won’t just get beaten tonight, he will get crushed”. Omega declines to comment but the earlier rumour that he will be at ringside is realised. The arena goes crazy for Omega as he comes through the curtain and walks quietly behind Pegasus. Holds his hand up to wave periodically to the fans but looks deadly serious. Of course Sam hates this and thinks this is another example of Omega trying to steal the limelight. Even Chaos has to hold Sam back from charging straight into Omega and starting a brawl. After what seemed an age Chaos and Pegasus finally come face to face in the ring. Pegasus giving away plenty of height but looking no less impressive. It is a very cagey tussle for long parts but then the Alpha Stone starts to give Chaos problems. It has been solid as a rock for a long time. But tonight it fades twice and remains in its faded state by the match conclusion. It put Chaos in lots of strife and Pegasus looked like he was going to take advantage of it. An incredible press slam demonstrating great power and left Chaos badly hurt on the deck. Commando Sam then turns the match controversially. Runs in and remonstrates with the ref. Pegasus got distracted and nobody saw the bag of powder Sam had dropped behind him and onto Chaos. When Pegasus finally goes back to Chaos he gets a face full and the ref misses it. With Pegasus badly blinded Chaos hauls himself up and clamps in with BOW OF DEFEAT. Omega cannot believe this travesty of Justice and to cheering goes to enter the ring. But before he’s even got through the ropes Sam pulls him back and buries him into the announcer’s table. Omega is too hurt and can only look up helplessly as Pegasus fades away in the ring. There is uproar in the aftermath but the decision stands and Chaos is still the champ.
Tag champs, Titan Fury, full of confidence to stop the Pillars of Power. First test as champs for Titan Fury. Probably didn’t expect it to be coming from the Pillars. No way they can underestimate them though. The Pillars have been posting lots of online promos and kooky skits in the build up. They have been trying to intimidate Titan Fury. We’ve had videos of Dynamo pumping iron in the gym and pressing incredible amounts of weight. Powerhouse has been lifting logs and carrying boulders up and down mountains. Lord Nexus dismissed it all, “all that showing off means nothing. Comes down to what you can do in the ring. We have worked so hard to earn these belts and don’t intend to be transitional champions”. It is soon evident that Lord Nexus is still on cloud nine over his team’s achievement. He leads Titan Fury out beaming with pride. His guys don’t let him down with a dominating performance that ends with Powerhouse being pinned with DAY OF THE DRAGON. Cassandra throws a complete tantrum when her team fails. She had dreams of managing the tag team champions. Dynamo tells her to shut up and all three of them leave the ring arguing. Word is that plans are now being put in place to put Genesis Prime against Titan Fury next in a classic heroes against heroes battle for the belts. Normally in scenarios like this, one of the heroes tends to play a heel role for the match. But both teams are so over with the fans though that it may not happen that way. Whatever happens it will be a much awaited clash by the two in-form teams of the GWF.
Panic Attack take down Animen Uprising against the odds. Mandrill has been trying to avoid this match. After Panic Attack had failed to beat the Watchmen at GALACTICON he said that means they haven’t earned the right to face Animen Uprising yet. Mandrill trying to call the shots like this angers Commissioner Grogan. He makes a statement that Animen Uprising must wrestle the match or the Colonizers forfeit SUDDEN DEATH. Mandrill has to reluctantly face the music and step into the ring. Wolf’s attempt to trigger Genocide causes a conundrum. If it doesn’t work it will put them at a major disadvantage. As this is the match they have long been waiting for he thinks it is too risky. But Buck Steele isn’t thinking the same way. He is full of confidence having just won the IP belt and wants to be Genocide immediately. Backstage footage shows him start slapping Wolf and then firing off jabs to rile him. Nobody does that to Wolf. Not even his closest friends. He reacts by smashing Buck’s head into a locker. The cameras then move back to the arena leaving everyone guessing on whether it worked or not. Mandrill and Ram await Wolf and Buck in the ring. Ram fully expects Genocide to rip through the curtain and gets ready to run. Mandrill grabs hold of Ram and forces him to stand ground. Suddenly Wolf comes awkwardly into view but he is almost having to carry Buck. The gamble backfired again and Buck has blood pouring out of a head wound. Mandrill smiles on seeing this and signals to Ram. They meet Wolf in the runway and start attacking. Buck falls awkwardly to the ground and looks very groggy. Wolf can’t cope well with two of them and gets overwhelmed. Both of Wolf and Buck are then dragged towards the ring to start the match. They are in bad shape. It would take a miracle to win from here. Mandrill orders Ram to start the match against Buck. It doesn’t look good for Buck but after a couple minutes of being beaten on he gets in a counter and makes a hot tag. Wolf forgets the pain he is in and gets an adrenaline surge. Ram barely survives SAVAGE FACE CLAW which is almost immediately put upon him. Mandrill chastises his slave and demands to be tagged in so he can finish Wolf off. But he soon runs into similar strife. It’s just one of those nights where nothing is going to stop Wolf. He brutalises Mandrill and an atomic knee drop sends him sprawling. Ram doesn’t save his master as he has a busted horn and is looking for the broken tip out on the arena floor. Back in the ring Wolf covers Mandrill to hand Panic Attack an improbable win. Heracles sees off a spirited Star Warrior. The odds were heavily stacked against Star Warrior from the start. With Commando Sam and the chilling prescence of Mesmer also in the corner of Heracles it was one on three from the start. Add to that the psycological disturbance suffered by Star Warrior after being tricked into signing this match thanks to Mesmer's mind games and things looked bleak. Sceptics could argue Heracles was still not fully recovered from the leg injury sustained earlier in the month by virtue of the heavy strapping around his left leg but those in the know said that this was nothing more than a smoke screen. Upon locking up Heracles immediately kicked Star Warrior in the mid-section with his supposedly injured left leg. Now it was plain to see the strapping was indeed nothing but a hoax. The bandages soon come off and Heracles uses every distraction Sam and Mesmer can pull off to strangle Star Warrior with them. Despite all this Star Warrior fights valiantly and is much the better wrestler. He hits COSMIC BIG BANG on three separate occasions. The final one of which Heracles only survives because of Commando Sam. In the dying embers of the match Star Warrior tried to charge Heracles into the turnbuckle but is leaden legged and ends up running into a boot. It is a step too far for him. Star Warrior staggers backwards and then gets weakened in Heracles Power Clamp. Having sapped Star Warrior’s final energy reserves Heracles then piles in with OLYMPIA and gets the pin. Star Warrior is applauded away by the fans. They know how difficult this was for him and the effort that had been put in. Little side note is that Omega, despite being banned from appearing at ringside, leaves the commentary position and is now seen backstage shortly after the events of this match. Sparks rumours that he will be making one of his rare forays to ringside later in the show when Pegasus challenges Chaos. Dreadnaught beat Brainstorm. Emotional return to the ring for Dreadnaught. Started badly as the student assistant, Darla, distracted him before the match commenced allowing Brainstorm to get him from behind. This allowed Brainstorm to dominate via a combination of foul play and ring smarts. Dreadnaught proved though he is still made of strong stuff as he took the win despite the severe beating taken. It ended dramatically when Dreadnaught was held from behind and seemingly immobilised. Darla dashed into the ring and pulled out the loaded textbook. She measured up but Brainstorm was the one who went down with a thud. Incredibly Dreadnaught broke free at the last moment leaving Brainstorm to take the hit. Darla shrieked as Dreadnaught then manhandled her outside and then concentrated his efforts on Brainstorm. He pointed a scaly finger to the sky to signal GUIDED MISSILE was about to come. Brainstorm is vanquished with the move. Popular win for Dreadnaught but then horror. Within seconds Dreadnaught was clubbed down viciously by a familiar object, Arsenal! Dreadnaught's number had come up in the lottery and Splatter was letting him know. Splatter unmercifully hammered Dreadnaught into unconciousness in a sickening scene. All through Splatter was taunting "that one's for Tongsoon, that one's for befriending the US. Patriot, that’s for being a cr*p partner to my old chum the Executioner and that ... that's for being scum!" The brutal onslaught went on for what seemed like an eternity. Nobody could get near Dreadnaught to help. They just had to let Splatter get on with it and tend to Dreadnaught when finished. Splatter eventually gets bored and ends the savage attack. Dreadnaught was left curled up in a bloody ball. As he was stretchered away fans wondered if they'd ever see him again. Maybe he should of retired along with Marcel de Sade last year, now it may be too late. No Fear look reborn as they sweep aside Assassin Greatness. Great news for No Fear as Thantos returns and Archon is nearly fully healed. Pulsar is not so much concentrating on the Assassins in his interview. His message is for the Lords of Fire, “this feud starts now. Everyone is about to now see the real No Fear”. Match goes buttery smooth for No Fear as they turnover the Assassins. Archon is inspired and uses his trusty submission move repertoire to weaken Enigma. Thantos looks on with approval and raises his crutch in the air as ELBOW HYPEREXTENSION has Enigma tapping out in sheer agony. Eagle gets a good cheer as he beats Gila. Eagle has been suffering from frazzled nerves for a while now. His last match didn’t go too well and Mace got on his case about it. Rumour is Raven and Mace nearly came to blows over it. With his confidence shredded Eagle needed something to give him hope. Who better to face than Gila? Destructon 3000 works hard to set the match up and is with Eagle at ringside. Giving him full support and letting him know how important he is to the team. Eagle responds positively to the encouragement. Comes through a couple of shaky moments to put Gila away with DEADLY DESCENT. Death’s Head beat Blizzard by DQ. Has hell freezed over? No it was just Blizzard running on pure adrenaline. Sadly his air of confidence did not last long as Death's Head hacked away at him and thus started to dominate the tempo. However as others have discovered before, Blizzard can be at his most dangerous when under pressure as in a flash he unleashed ICE ATTACK. The immediate disqualification of Blizzard was announced. Fortunately for Death’s Head he is only nursing a slightly sore skull after receiving a glancing blow. Blizzard will find out his fate in a week when Commisioner Grogan will announce his punishment for Blizzard's uncontrollable temper.

GWF REPORT (SUDDEN DEATH 2103 CARDS 793 - 796)
Champions * GWF Galaxian Champ: Chaos (Top Contender: Janus) * GWF Tag Champs: Titan Fury (Top Contenders: Genesis Prime) * GWF Interplanetary Champ: Buck Steele (Top Contender: Dark Justice) * GWF Ladies Champ: Supernova (Top Contender: Thrash) Latest News: OTB is upon is. The chance to realise a dream for many wrestlers or for those that have been lucky enough to win before it’s another shot at glory. Among many wrestlers, winning the tournament is seen as the pinnacle of success even above capturing the Heavyweight belt. The likes of Mayhem and Splatter fit that mould as they would certainly prefer to win the Hardcore bracket. Depends who you speak to. Sometimes the whole drama surrounding who is going to make the cut or not is nearly as exciting as the event itself. The CPC is already agonising over who to put forward out of Janus, Matador and Terminus. Looks like the Matador is going to be the one frozen out. Unless there is a big surprise he will have to watch whilst Janus goes for the Heavyweight belt again and Terminus gets their backing for OTB. Even the heroes bicker as Pegasus and Colussus are vying for their spot. Omega has to be the voice of reason and suggests that as Pegasus only just received a title shot (in which he failed) that maybe now was the chance for Colussus to get a little push. Have to see how that plays out. Pegasus is much more heroic these days but can still be a bit of a prima donna at times. The Upstart Punks have been signed on a month by month contract by the CPC. They think they’ve hit the big time but in reality are drawing a pittance and being used as playthings of Colby and Pelf. They want to dip their toes back into the tag division and are using the team to scout. Ever since they thinned the team roster and dropped Centaurus Cluster from the payroll they have shown little or no interest in tag team matches so as to become completely out of touch. The Punks first duty was to carry out an attack on Omega. This is the CPC’s way of trying to stimulate the feud with the Champions (who have been largely focused on the battles with Sam’s Stormtroopers).
Omega also has problems with the Gladiators after Star Warrior got caught in the crossfire of the Gladiator-Hitmen feud. In trying to assist Thunder he got turned upon. Naturally his team mates have come to his assistance. Pegasus was the first to take on Thunder and Colussus wants a piece of the Gladiators too. Omega thinks getting embroiled in something like this has the potential to damage his team. He warns them against spreading themselves too thin and wants everyone to forget about the Gladiators. There are even some zany theories going around that Mesmer has got some kind of mind control over the Gladiators. That he is influencing them to go after Omega to help weaken his team and make the road ahead easier for Sam’s Stormtroopers. Not sure how believable that is. The shocking death of Crossfire has festered throughout the whole year and is a large part of the reason No Fear is struggling. But now Thantos back at ringside managing No Fear full time to much fanfare. Don’t tell anyone but Thantos is still carrying a crutch despite being healed up. He fully intends to use it against the Lords of Fire although that could cause issues with Archon who always tries to wrestle honourably. Maybe he’ll make exception for the Lords of Fire. Speaking of Archon, he is not far from being fully healed up. He no longer has to wear any protective strapping to his matches and is only a few cards from being back to his best shape. Splatter is causing all kinds of issues as Dreadnaught is now badly hurt by him. They are both out as Splatter cops yet another suspension and knocks himself out of OTB in the process. Poor Dreadnaught had only just returned to the ring after being hospitalised some time ago by CANNIBAL’S RUN. Guess Splatter couldn’t help himself and wanted to show Cannibal he does it better then anyone. No surprise to hear Dreadnaught’s statement from the hospital bed that this latest injury means nothing and that he’ll be back in the ring as soon as possible. Those close to him have more or less given up on convincing him to retire and are prepared to let him dig his own grave.
Commissioner Grogan decides not to suspend Blizzard for ICE ATTACK. Instead letting him off with a warning and a slap on the wrist. Deep down Grogan thinks the attack on Death’s Head was poetic justice for past misdemeanours in the GWF.
Pollux finally wins a match by pin. Cannibal is the unlucky loser. Will Cannibal come after him now or just try to forget it ever happened. Fresh off this shock victory Pollux now wants a main event status and a stab at the Interplanetary belt. The current champ, Buck Steele, laughs off the challenge and says Pollux has got more chance of spotting the tooth fairy than getting a shot. INJURED – Archon (5), Dreadnaught (7); SUSPENDED – Splatter (7); Krakan (rest of year) WHOSE HOT … Chaos, Buck Steele, Heracles, Titan Fury, No Fear, Genesis Prime WHOSE NOT … Terminus, Matador, Brainstorm, Cannibal, Animen Uprising, Assassin Greatness SUDDEN DEATH STANDINGS … Oh dear. This is not going well for the Gladiators. The pressure back on Aethra will be immense on their shoulders. Masked Assassins and Murderer’s Row might as well go home now. They already languish a long way behind. In the headline battle between Omega and Sam things have closed up a bit. Omega’s team had been the stronger until now but Chaos is doing a good job of keeping the Stormtroopers in touch.
Champions-Sam’s Stormtroopers 37-31 Genesis and Wolf-Colonizers of Scorpi 14-22 Gladiators-Hitmen 7-17 No Fear-Lords of Fire 1-14 WAR-Rocketmen 14-16 Fighting Titans-Masked Assassins 27-3 Savage Kingdom-Murderer’s Row 19-5 Flamboyance-Pillars of Power 4-11 Jack of Diamonds-Mad Jester 7-6 WRESTLER OF THE MONTH: Chaos - just continued to look completely unbeatable. Is anyone up to the task of taking him on and challenging for the belt? TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH: No Fear - for impact reasons. Finally given a chance to wrestle without too many issues and totally dismantled Assassin Greatness.

***OTB NEWS*** CPC exploiting loopholes to get two wrestlers into the singles bracket. Normally only one guy per team can compete in a bracket but Colby argues the CPC is not a team but an organisation. Commissioner Grogan does seem to do unpredictable things these days and many of his decisions get questioned. This latest one to allow it brings about get more criticism of his leadership. The other big news is that Omega makes a late decision to go with Pegasus instead of Colussus. He dispels rumour that Colussus is cranky about it, “Colussus understands that we need our main guy competing. Pegasus has so much talent and represents our best chance of winning”. Wolf goes into the singles bracket in a shock move. Buck Steele into the hardcore bracket instead. The thought of Genocide going crazy inside a cage is too much to resist. Big casualties in the tag bracket are New Order. It was a toss up between them and Genesis Prime and Commissioner Grogan went with the latter. Mace destroyed all the equipment in the room he was in when he heard the news. Destructon 3000 said he was disappointed “obviously our big win at GALACTICON counts for nothing. We will just have to work harder to get back among the tag team elite”. Seems that many of the selections have not been based on actual form but whether people’s faces fit and who can draw the most. No Fear, for example, are in and they have barely won any matches but their feuding backstory is so hot there was no way they would be looked over. Thantos, being protective of his guys, justifies their inclusion by saying it was never a tournament based purely on rankings. My team deserves its opportunity after everything they’ve been through. Final shock is Mayhem not participating in the cage tournament. Without a manager or team leader to guide him he forgets to submit his entry. When it dawns on him he tries to batter down the door to Commissioner Grogan’s office on Deimos. Grogan says it’s too late as he already has the roster planned and threatens to expel Mayhem from the GWF permanently if he uses any violence. Paperwork has never been a strong point of Mayhem and he rages over his omission.
Card 797 – Luna Auditorium: (INTRO … Get ready folks for a super charged show coming at you from the bright lights of the Luna Auditorium. However for some reason the stands have plenty of gaps in them. Could this have anything to do with the betrayal felt by the local Earthlings with regards to the disgusting defection of Commando Sam to the villain side? Maybe Johnny Rocket can shed more light on the situation? Johnny Rocket: "Hi ya fans, the galaxy's greatest broadcaster here and I'll be your host tonight. That blockhead Qualitar's out of the way so lets tell it like it is. Well we are just days away from OTB and ..." Reynard B. Guile: "Hang on, don't forget I'm here with you in the broadcasting role. Let the galaxy know of my prescence. After all as the Vice President of Operations in the Colby-Pelf Corporation I deserve the respect I'm seeking and the fans will agree!" Johnny Rocket: "You just put a lid on it you 'Bucktoothed' weasel. You will speak when spoken to and if I have my way that won't be ever. Ha, ha, what d'ya think about that then little man?" B. Guile: "Well I never, even that no-brained Qualitar is more of a pleasure to sit next to and that's saying something. I can tell you that if my Janus knew what you was saying about me then he'll, he'll ..." Johnny Rocket: "He'll what? You are all speak little man. Never can your pathetic trio compare to my Rocketmen, face facts you are the pits, you've always been the pits and you always will be." B. Guile: "You'll be sorry, I'll get my men onto you and then the Colby-Pelf Corporation will prove it's powers. This is the end of the road for you, dare you accept my challenge Rocket? Or are your men really just flat batteried men? Ha, ha!" Johnny Rocket: "Oh wrong move Buckteeth, you've just earnt your team a beating at the hands of the Rocketmen. How about next month at the Albireo Temple? Let OTB blow over and then get a match organised, your Janus the Underman against Holocaust." B. Guile: "You got it!" At this point one of the executive producers working on the GWF Heroes show cuts the feed to a live shot of the crowd whilst he explains to the men that they are broadcasting for the GWF and not there for a slanging match. Reynard then proclaims he is not prepared to sit here any longer with someone like Rocket. Especially when he has got wrestlers to manage and throws off his headset before skulking away. Johnny gives him a sarcastic wave off. The camera now switches to the opening bout of the evening.) Tag Champs, Titan Fury, overcome Genesis Prime. Two very popular teams but the crowd seem to slightly favour the Titans as they get the bigger cheer on entry. It actually slightly irritates Wraith and he is no mood for handshakes. So that quickly settled which team would play the heel role for the match. However Wraith delivers on his promise not to use invisibility to his advantage. At least not when he has been hurt. But with the belts there for the taking and the chance is there to increase the potency of his SUDDEN DEATH finisher would he be able to resist? Luckily that conundrum never materialises as Genesis Prime do not get that far. The Titans are in incredible form again. They manage to absorb the early offence against them and then hit Genesis Prime with a flurry of attacks. Very few teams would be able to withstand that as kicks and chops come flying in from all angles. They then polish Wraith off with DAY OF THE DRAGON. Rather than bask in victory the Titans first concern is for helping Wraith up. Initially he pushes them off him such as his frustration but after a little bit of barracking from the crowd and a word from Vertigo he changes his attitude. Eventually he accepts the hand of friendship and leaves quietly to give the Titans their moment in the ring. Onto OTB now and hopefully both teams can go well there. Maybe they’ll meet again soon for the titles.
Archon hands Janus a stunning loss. Archon wrestling more and more regulary as the signs of injury slowly dissipate. Janus belittles Archon by calling this a good sparring match up ahead of OTB and his title shot against Chaos. Archon vows to make Janus tap out to one of his many submission moves to show him up, “Janus is one of the most arrogant individuals I’ve ever had the displeasure to come across. Seems about right he is now on the CPC payroll. He fits right in there. Glad I’m out of all that”. Although Archon doesn’t condone interference the presence of Thantos makes a big difference as he nullifies Reynard B. Guile’s sneakiness. Although Reynard would later falsely claim the reason he didn’t interfere was because he is a man of honour himself and there was a gentleman’s agreement in place. Janus uses his exceptional skills to quickly stifle Archon’s enthusiastic start. Soon putting tokens on Archon with submission moves of his own. Archon is clinging on but looking far from a likely winner. Showing what a natural manager he is Thantos starts shouting instructions and encouragement and it seems to have a rejuvenating effect. Archon shocks Janus with a counter off the ropes. Before Janus can compute what’s happening he is victim to a Cobra Clutch Suplex. Archon follows instruction and goes straight for the cover. The speed of this makes all the difference as Janus is pinned despite attempting a kick out. It’s a nano second too late. The crowd goes wild for Archon and Thantos. Janus dares not to retaliate for fear of getting lynched and storms off. The Matador battles to a win against Skinhead. Matador bummed about not being picked for OTB and being given the chance to defend his crown. However he has been placated by Colby and Pelf as they’ve revealed even grander plans for him. What could that be? Commando Sam gets the expected frosty reception. He blocks all the hostility out and tries to guide Skinhead to an upset. Certainly suggestions that might happen as Skinhead throws everything into it. Matador looks lethargic and has to survive BAD ATTITUDE numerous times. Despite all the troubles Maatdor still finds a way to win. Mistakes start creeping into Skinhead’s match such as trying agility moves one too many times. The Matador is too good not to take his opportunities. Reverses a battle at the top of the turnbuckle. Then nails Skinhead with Matador Death Run a couple times and nicks a victory that minutes earlier the chances of which had looked very slim.
Coat of Arms crush the Upstart Punks. The Punks are insufferable. All week long they’ve been gatecrashing in on interviews bragging that they’ve made it big time. The worst is when Coat of Arms themselves are being questioned by Qualitar. The two teams end having a bit of a brawl on the set. So it sets the mood of the match. Alpha Force just wants to get it done and quieten the Punks down so the team can move onto more important matters. Star Warrior warns his brother against complacency. It was rumoured Colby and Pelf might show up at ringside for close observation of the Punks but that doesn’t happen. Luckily Coat of Arms avoid the banana skin and send the Punks packing pretty easily. Romulus took the brunt of the punishment. After ENDGAME he doesn’t know where he is. The match only continued as Taurine disrupted the inevitable pin. Alpha Force soon deals with Taurine and then has another go at taking Romulus out with TOMAHAWK THRUST. No hiccups this time. Very solid professional performance from Coat of Arms.
Grunge beats a rage filled Mace by DQ. Mace still acting aggressively towards his partner. Dreggs tries to accompany him ringside but gets told to butt out “I don’t need a wing man”. Fearing that this might go out of control Destructon 3000 comes through the curtain and quickly pulls a shocked Dreggs back. Mace twitches angrily as he then heads on his own into the match which not surprisingly descends into chaos. Grunge having tried to nail Mace with Johnny Rocket’s mic. Johnny isn’t at ringside as he is on commentating duties but still gave Grunge the weapon. Mace managed to block the blow and grab the fallen mic first. He smashes Grunge with it instead and cops the DQ. To blow off steam Mace throws the weapon down and stomps it repeatedly until it’s in a million pieces. Johnny Rocket is at a safe distance in the commentators gallery but warns Mace live on air “you’re paying the bill to replace that”. Ms. Liberty back on song as she demolishes Anaxis. Two forgotten women of the ladies division looking to put themselves back in the mix again. Both Heracles and US. Patriot are at loose ends this month. Neither made the cut for OTB so both decide to show up at ringside here and cement their growing rivalry. Ms. Liberty makes a fast start and dominates. As a result Anaxis continually leaves the ring to seek comfort in the arms of Heracles and bury her head into his hairy chest. It gets tiresome so Adam and Ms. Liberty link up to execute a double drop kick whilst Anaxis does this and it sends them tumbling. She then pitches Anaxis back in and goes on to hit THE LIBERATOR three times on her way to putting Anaxis away. Impressive.

Card 798 – ONLY THE BEST (Hardcore) – Io Coliseum:
(After the bombshell news of New Order not making the tag bracket Mace gets an approach from Commissioner Grogan to compete in the cage tournament. Without consulting Destructon 3000 or his partner, Dreggs, he accepts) Added Attraction, Heavyweight champ, Chaos beats Janus again. The arrogance of Chaos grows. Even against someone as good as Janus he takes a casual approach. Janus seeks to take advantage of this lax attitude. Chaos is busy in the runway holding his belt up in front of fans and calling himself the most powerful force in the galaxy. Janus storms out ahead of his introduction to smash both Chaos and Commando Sam down from behind with his Gladiatorial helmet. Chaos stumbles forwards and drops the belt. Janus then jumps on his back with a sleeper. Chaos cannot force him off and fades. With the big man down and Sam unconscious Janus then beckons to a cackling Reynard B. Guile. Together they slowly drag Chaos towards the ring to complete the job. Chaos is so big that it takes a while to do this. Before they can get there Chaos comes out of his slumber. They drop him and Chaos forces himself to stand. Janus and Reynard look shocked as he then smashes their heads together. Match on and both managers are down and out of it. Chaos now starts a period of total domination and Janus is just buying time to stay in it. Looks like it’ll be a total walkover unless something drastic happens. And it does. The Alpha Stone’s glow fades. Chaos looks over at it alarmingly and Janus drives himself on to grab this window of opportunity. Rocking Chaos with kicks to the midsection. He needs to act fast though. Before the Stone’s power resumes. Tries his best to work a winning opening but Chaos is still strong and won’t go down easily. After a few minutes the Stone’s power returns and Chaos easily gets back on top. Relentlessly pummels Janus who soon fades to a fourth BOW OF DEFEAT and the title stays firmly with Chaos. Great battle but now the attentions of both will be off the Heavyweight belt as the glare of the wrestling cosmos moves to the magnificence of OTB. Reynard B. Guile will be hoping Janus and Terminus do well in the tournament as he is under a lot of scrutiny from his employers. The loss of the IP belt and recent failures by Janus to capture the main belt have left them very unhappy.
Round 1:
Vyper ends the domination of Mad Jester in the cage tournament. Jester was bidding to make it three in a row. The barbed rattle is out but so are the snakes. Vyper places his snakes on each side of the cage. They are coiled around the bars. It makes for an astonishing sight. Jester is disturbed at the sight of them and tries to bash them off with his barbed rattle. No way Vyper is going to let his beloved pets come to harm. Flies at Jester before he can take a clean swing and the two of them start grappling on the canvas. Chaotic match now takes place with the pendulum constantly swinging. Jester doesn’t let the presence of the snakes bother him. Keeps doing his usual zany and unpredictable stuff. Vyper manages to get a hold of the barbed rattle and rather than use it throws it out of the cage. The way he eventually manages to win the match is brutal. Takes Jester and simply slams him into the cage side. Was done with such force that it knocks Jester out and the snake that was hung on that side falls down. It slithers all over Jester. Vyper walks to the door and steps briefly outside the cage to take the win before returning to where Jester lay. Takes hold of all his snakes and places them on him. One wraps itself round the neck of Jester. Vyper gives him a slap so Jester can consciously become aware of what is happening to him. This causes Jester to freak out so badly that he throws up. Vyper decides the show is over and removes all the snakes and leaves. Jester remains in the ring shivering whilst emitting sporadic giggles. Weird ending. Could be a catalyst to an offbeat feud that has been years in the making. After all these are two of the craziest guys in GWF history.
Mace batters Dark Justice. Mace definitely seen as the bad guy on the WAR team. Hasn’t exactly got the crowd behind him despite the fact he is up against a turncoat like Justice. The anti-feeling doesn’t slow him down. He’s been handed a big chance to show what he can do solo. Rips Justice apart inside the cage. Justice cannot get any foothold. His high number of down possibilities on his level 3 defence sees to that. In all Justice is put through the mat with MACE’S LITTLE HELPER five times. The last of which finished him off. Mace progresses to an interesting battle against Vyper in the next round. Let’s hope he hasn’t got a secret snake phobia.
Buck Steele / Genocide annihilated Draconian Sheik. If Genocide materialises bloodshed is guaranteed between two of the craziest wrestlers around. Drac’s best tactic would be to finish it as early as possible. But Drac doesn’t do tactics. Wrestles on instinct. By using a foreign object constantly to try and gouge Buck’s eyes Drac is playing with fire. It’s usage stimulates the transformation and Genocide soon appears. Caught in a cage with this thing Drac stands little to no chance. Gets thrown all over the cage. Probably meets every single side of it with his face. There is a great crescendo of noise as Genocide moves towards victory. Finally Genocide does a monster choke slam and exits the cage. He rips the door off its hinges and it needs to be hastily repaired in the aftermath.
Colussus progresses past Painmaster. Might be old news now but Painmaster still reminds everybody that he is the only man to beat Genocide. He is riding this one as long as possible. Perhaps that’s why Mandrill surprisingly pitched him into this tournament and temporarily breaks up the Watchmen. With Buck Steele / Genocide involved too Painmaster may have a psychological edge if they meet. A win here will setup an incredible rematch between them. Colussus isn’t about to become a pawn in all that though. After missing out on the singles tournament to Pegasus he has a point to prove to Omega. Starts on the front foot and even puts Painmaster in THE TORTURE RACK which amuses the fans. Painmaster gets through this and threatens a fight back but it’s fleeting. Colussus staves him off and launches a second wave of attacks before dropping CYBORG DEATHBLOW on Painmaster to eliminate him from the tournament. The Genocide-Painmaster rematch scuppered as Colussus seals a hero whitewash in the opening round of the cage bracket. Round 2:
Mace makes the final as he beats Vyper. The first all hero second round match. If you were an outsider seeing these two guys for the first time you wouldn’t think these were heroes though. Vyper playing the psychology game carrying snakes into the cage. Mace acting all moody and snarling at anyone in the crowd chanting for New Order. This match was all about him and any mention of his tag team background totally unwelcome. Having seen what happened in the previous round Mace doesn’t want to be covered in snakes at any point. Vyper has barely climbed into the cage when Mace is upon him. Taking his sack off him and throwing it back out the door. He rages that Vyper should not be allowed in with those. Some security guys agree and manage to get hold of the sack. Even though they are wary of the contents they confiscate it and assure Vyper will have it returned at the end of the bout. This annoys Vyper but he is left with little choice. He gets on with the match and fights with his typical aggression but Mace wants it more. Takes about ten minutes but having put 3 tokens on Vyper and also drawing blood Mace goes for a risky move. Climbs to the top of the turnbuckle. Not easy for a big man but he can hold onto the bars to help steady him. Waits for Vyper to get up and then cannons into him. It’s a devastating impact and Vyper is wasted. Mace casually strolls out the door and moves into the final. Nobody could of predicted this.
Buck Steele / Genocide totally overpowers Colussus. Both looking fresh after having pretty easy wins in the last round. Buck is on good terms with Colussus and apologises for the possible behaviour of Genocide in advance. Says “I am not responsible for the actions of Genocide. I hope he doesn’t go too far if I transform. But I won’t be holding back. Colussus is a guy I respect a lot but I want to win”. Colussus knows he has to tread carefully in the match. He will be better prepared than Buck’s last opponent Drac. Realising that a measured approach will give him a greater chance. It’s bad enough awakening Genocide at any time but the last place anyone wants it to happen is inside a cage where it’s difficult to escape. Unfortunately Colussus can’t avoid it. In trying to go for the win and using Buck’s own ROPE-A-DOPE FLURRY against him Genocide bursts forth. Came as a huge surprise to Colussus. Buck was down on the canvas seemingly unresponsive and Colussus was trying to climb out the cage. Next moment Genocide was pulling him forcefully down and back into the action. The next few minutes were tense. Colussus tried his best but nobody thought he could win from here. Just prayed he could get out the cage safely. It’s largely a relief when Genocide hits with CORPUS GENOCIDE to end the suffering.
Final:
Buck Steele / Genocide grabs the glory after taking down Mace. Very few would of predicted this final. Although Genocide is a massive advantage and nigh on unbeatable Buck doesn’t always transform. As Buck he is a shadow of what he can be. He has been ‘lucky’ the change has been triggered in every round so far. For Mace, well the fact he wasn’t even expected to be competing in this tournament and has no reputation in singles bouts speaks for itself. However his run to the final has given him huge confidence. He even shouts in his pre match interview that he hopes Genocide will show up in the cage. Mace thinks he is stronger and can beat him. Would those words come back to haunt him? As the two of them enter the cage and take a position in opposite corners there is total silence. Neither says a word. Just wait for the bell and move towards each other. They open with a test of strength but Mace easily wins that. Mace immediately starts battering Buck and nails MACE’S LITTLE HELPER very early. He then stands over Buck watching him intently rather than making for any kind of escape. Buck’s body twitches for a moment and then expands. Genocide jumps up. Mace stands his ground ready to fight. This is what he wanted to prove himself. He fares better than many others did but is still pretty much blown away by Genocide. Too many times when Mace has a chance to put some moves on Genocide he chooses to use power. Refusing to accept Genocide is stronger than him and gets countered every time. Ultimately Genocide leaves Mace on the cusp of defeat after a series of monster choke slams and berserk pounding assault. Then to a huge cheer climbs the buckle and smashes Mace with CORPUS GENOCIDE. Genocide retains enough sense to now go for the escape. Once again tearing the cage door from its hinges. By the time the trophy is presented Genocide hasn’t changed back into Buck. He is so hyper he breaks the trophy in two. Moments later he shrinks back into Buck and looks forlorn when he sees his broken prize. Wonder if the GWF will issue him with another one!

Card 799 – ONLY THE BEST (Tag) – Io Coliseum:
Added Attraction, IP champ, Buck Steele caps a glorious month by beating off the challenge of Dark Justice. Despite a bad OTB there have been recent signs of improvement from Justice after a slow start to life as a villain. In fact he had wanted to pass up the chance of competing in the OTB Hardcore bracket to cash in and concentrate on this title match. However Commando Sam called that a desertion of duty. Justice quickly fell into line after hearing that. The battle scars from the tournament are still visible on both men. Both had very differing fortunes at the event. Buck Steele coming through to win whilst Justice fell at the first hurdle. But all that’s now forgotten in this battle for the belt. Terminus can’t help throwing himself into the build up. Declaring it a scandal that he has not been given the chance to win the IP bet back. He continues to consider it his own personal property and openly challenges the winner. Buck tells him to keep his nose out unless he wants a date with Genocide. Buck goes onto defend the belt in a close match after knocking Justice out with ROPE-A-DOPE FLURRY. He is delighted to of got the job done without morphing into Genocide. Relies on his own skills and has enough in the locker to handle the challenge. Will Terminus be the next challenger? Would be nice to see others given a fair shot but Terminus and his backers (the CPC) are very persuasive.
Round 1:
Thunder and Overkill outmuscled Coat of Arms. Big match for both teams. Coat of Arms have not really got going whilst the Gladiators are suffering a poor 2103 and have been in disgrace back on Aethra. There is a little bit heat already existing between Thunder and Star Warrior. It’s not exactly a classic. Very few incidents as the two teams cancel each other out. Eventually Star Warrior gets caught and he’s probably in the worst shape of all of them having accumulated most tokens. The Gladiators manage to get him with DECAPITATOR to progress. Thunder says he will be supporting the Mercenaries in the next match because it means the Gladiators will then get a chance to rip them apart. He ominously says “maybe I’ll ram a gun down one of their throats”.
Titan Fury are in outstanding form as they easily eliminate the Mercenaries. What a draw. You just cannot keep these teams apart. Only this time it’s the Titans who are top dogs as they hold the belts. That drives the Mercenaries mad with jealousy. But there’s not much they can do about it. The Titans are in the form of their lives at the moment. The Mercenaries barely get a sniff. Rising Sun, in particular, is pretty much untouchable. Absolutely peppers Soldier of Fortune with his dazzling move set. Soldier of Fortune barely knows where he is. Just about kicks out after SUNSET SPECTACULAR but when the Titans deliver DAY OF THE DRAGON not long after there is no coming back. Vigilante tried to get there but the game was up when Rising Sun flew across the ring and met him with a flying kick.
Lords of Fire too hot for Genesis Prime to handle. Genesis Prime slumps to a second big defeat in a row. Their big push could be over before it’s got started. Vertigo gets into grief against Bishop Hell and is slain with FLYING CROSS. The Lords of Fire make a menacing statement by pouring gasoline over the ropes and torching them to create a symbolic ring of fire. The fiery display is quickly extinguished and the charred ropes replaced but it’s a low point in the show.
Superiority Complex controversially beats No Fear. Thantos knows Superiority Complex well having briefly been a team mate of theirs and wrestled them many times. Although he cannot be at ringside tips are passed on. Plus he knows all their weaknesses. Archon looks reborn as he enters the ring. The long road to recovery nearly at an end after one of the worst injuries in GWF history. No Fear looks brilliant and totally dominate. Skinhead got badly blinded by Pulsar’s ACID RAIN and although Prodigy bought him some time he is there to be finished off. It’s a perfect time for Archon to come in and get to work on him. Immediately locks in ELBOW HYPEREXTENSION. In a desperate move Prodigy grabs a concealed object and runs into the back of Archon with it. Pulsar goes to stop him but he gets nailed as well. High controversy as Prodigy dumps Skinhead on top of Archon to win the match. There are no disqualifications so Superiority Complex get away with it. Thantos rages backstage about the failure of GWF officials to search Superiority Complex before they came out.
Round 2:
Titan Fury makes an astonishing comeback to knock out Thunder and Overkill. Incredible stuff from Rising Sun. The Gladiators are brutal here. They single him out for punishment. Hit him with DECAPITATOR twice. Rising Sun clings on and then somehow wins an out of ring brawl with Thunder. Quick sign to Dragonmaster and they execute DAY OF THE DRAGON. Before Thunder knows what’s happening to him he is being pinned. Overkill rarely shows any hint of emotion on his face but even he looks shocked at how this turned around. The Gladiators are under pressure on Aethra and this latest failure will not help them. Vengeance as the team leader will shoulder most of the blame for sure unless he does something exceptional in the singles bracket. Lord Nexus is excited. Two big tests negotiated and surely now Titan Fury are the hot favourites to win the tournament and take their first OTB trophy. What a year it’s been for them so far.
Superiority Complex take down the Lords of Fire. After the events of the last round Superiority Complex are even more unpopular than the Lords of Fire. That takes some doing. It’s an entertaining match full of skullduggery. The Lords of Fire burned Skinhead with HELLFIRE but Prodigy was again expertly helping his partner out. Superiority Complex take the ‘heat’ out of the Lords after this. Looking back to their best as they start using double teaming brilliantly to force the advantage. Ultimately they pin Blazing Skull after THE PERFECT TAG FINISHER. Bishop Hell doesn’t dwell on the defeat in the aftermath. Calls their OTB run a triumph because they outlasted No Fear.
Final:
Superiority Complex triumph over Titan Fury to take the trophy. A dream final. With two of the most exceptionally gifted teams going against each other. On paper it could be a classic but Superiority Complex court controversy and arrogance. They will probably do their best to disrupt the flow. If they can win it will be their third triumph and stand them out on their own as the most successful team in the tournament’s history. The trophy has been shared around a lot over the years with ten different winners. Unfortunately for the fans there is not a new winner this year. Superiority Complex wrestle their best match of the tournament. Rising Sun’s heroic exploits of the previous rounds beginning to catch up with him. Skinhead has a very dominant period over him and hits BAD ATTITUDE a few times until it gets the job done. Arrogantly the Superiority Complex kicks their opponents out of the ring for their presentation. Prodigy flaunts the trophy before jumping off the apron and mounting his motorcycle. He closes into a camera and screams “we’re back!” Then speeds of down the runway with Skinhead not far behind.

Card 800 – ONLY THE BEST (Singles) – Io Coliseum: Added Attraction, Ladies champ, Supernova keeps her marathon belt run going against Thrash. Ladies playing part of the supporting cast to the big tournament and not letting down the occasion. Have a competitive match but Supernova’s amazing agility means she always has the edge. Thrash is desperate to capture the belt and prove herself on Aethra but ends up falling short again. Supernova managing to use SPEED OF LIGHT against her to close the match out. Her reign with the belt is incredible. She’s now held it for 52 cards, so that’s at least 12 successful defences. Round 1:
Janus wins a wild one against Wolf to progress. Wolf under a little bit of pressure for the first time in his career. His mate, Buck Steele, is overshadowing him. A good run in this tournament will put him back in the public affections. It is a rare foray away from the cage bracket in which he has enjoyed so much success. His ring entrance leaves everyone in no doubt about his intentions. High energy and full of aggression. The claws are out and Janus gets no time to trash talk. The brawl is on straight away. The result is in the lap of the wrestling gods. Both guys giving it their all and having failed attempts with their finishers. The big finish finally arrived when Wolf went to the top. Janus managed to force himself onto his feet so he could throw Wolf off the top. Wolf was in no man’s land as he was grabbed. The winding blow from the landing left him prone. Janus goes for GORDION KNOT again and eliminates him. Will be very interesting if Terminus (who is up next) wins his match. Will mean Janus against Terminus and of course they are both on the payroll of the CPC. Will they be allowed to have a fair match?
Vengeance beats Terminus in a close match. Terminus may be without the IP belt but he’s still carrying his AFW championship around with him and vows to get what belongs to him back. Vengeance shows no respect for his belt and kicks Terminus in the stomach as it’s being shown off. He then grabs belt and spits on it before tossing it into the runway. Reynard B. Guile desperately runs through the curtains and retrieves it but this irritates Terminus. He can’t concentrate which against Vengeance is a dangerous thing. Despite it being a close battle Vengeance always looking like he has another gear to go into. Uses his superior brawling style to get the upper hand. Then delivers HELTER SKELTER to win. Vengeance now carrying the Aethran flag. The team desperately needs him to go far in OTB. He will fancy his chances against Janus in the next round.
Raven stuns Chaos. Raven is worried about his chances in the build up. He cannot explain what’s happened to Chaos, “this year he seems to of got even stronger. He’s blowing everyone away. Hate to say it but Commando Sam seems to be doing an excellent job of managing him”. Unsurprisingly he gets absolutely pummelled. Even allowing for the fading of the Alpha Stone the beating just continues and Raven builds up 7 tokens. Relentless applications of BOW OF DEFEAT seem to take effect. By about the fifth one Raven begins to fade. He tried to grin and bear it but sometimes you just got to admit defeat. But amazingly it turned out Raven was playing possum to get the hold released. For when Chaos goes to pin him Raven kicks out. Enraged at such resistance Chaos goes to the top rope to try something different. Just what Raven wanted. He patiently waits and then rolls out the path of Chaos who crashes heavily into the mat. The impact only magnified due to the size of Chaos. With the big man stunned Raven uses his last ounce of energy to slide over and hook the leg for an improbable victory. Raven gets a massive cheer for his iron will determination to hang on in there throughout the match. Strangely, although the bubble of Chaos has been burst he still looks pretty invincible. He had completely dominated the match. Some cruel reports on the event in the following days actually called this a lucky win for Raven.
Mandrill serves up another surprise as he ousts Pegasus. Mandrill big on complaining these days. Moaning the pairings were rigged to give him the toughest path possible with both Pegasus and Chaos on his side of the draw. All falls on deaf ears. Would be better concentrating on the match. Especially now Chaos has bombed out. But his penchant for complaining carries on and Pegasus gets all the early momentum. Trouble is Pegasus is getting back into bad habits by posing over his opponent rather than going in for the kill. It nearly costs him as Mandrill counters and nails MUTANT MAULER. Pegasus doesn’t heed the warning, again relinquishing a position of authority. Mandrill doesn’t need a second invitation. Smashes him with a Prime Piledriver and gets a surprise win (good old snake eyes roll). Everyone had expected a big clash in the next round between Chaos and Pegasus for a place in the final. Instead it’s going to be Raven against Mandrill. Sometimes gets forgotten just how successful Raven has been at OTB over the years. He has won it 2 times before. If he can pull off another win he will equal the record mark of Chaos which is 3. Significantly the big man hasn’t won this tournament for 5 long years now and will have to wait at least another year longer.
Round 2:
Janus withstands the barbarism of Vengeance to qualify for the final. The eyes of Aethra are on this. With the likes of Chaos, Wolf and Pegasus out this represents a big opportunity for Vengeance to finally step forward. As the leader of the Gladiators he is expected to not only lead but show Aethran superiority by holding belts and winning tournaments like this. In that respect he is a long way behind his predecessors. As Janus steps into the ring in full Gladiatorial costume Vengeance gives an evil smile and gestures that he will gouge his eyes out. Janus reacts by throwing his helmet at Vengeance. As Vengeance evades it his guard comes down and Janus piles straight onto him with a head lock. In a grizzly start Vengeance fights back and goes straight for the eyes but Janus just about wards him off. The battle ends up being quite a short one. It doesn’t look too good for Janus as Vengeance finally manages to succeed with Eye Cleaver. Despite being barely able to see out of one eye Janus manages to break free and roll out the ring. In a flash he grabs his helmet and as Vengeance comes after him smashes him over the head. Vengeance’s legs go to jelly and he gets pushed back in the ring. Janus completes the incredible turnaround by going for GORDION KNOT and Vengeance is in no shape to fight it.
Raven takes out Mandrill. Mandrill is convinced it is now written in the stars that he will win OTB for the second time after seeing off Pegasus. He sees this match against Raven as nothing but an irritation. His thoughts are already on the final. In rushing to get the match done and conserve precious energy he makes a mistake whilst in control and walks straight into a Vulture Dive and then BROADSWORD. The moves totally knock his rhythm and Raven starts to dazzle. Mandrill can barely get near him and gets groggier by the minute. It comes as no surprise when Raven catches him with a Raven Reverse Slam and Mandrill can’t get up again. It’s an easy cover for Raven to march into the final. There is despair on Mandrill’s side for slipping up. His proclamation to be one of the top villains is being harmed by a lack of success. He really needs to get the monkey off his back now and make a serious effort to try and capture the Heavyweight belt but stumbling here won’t of done his ranking much good.
Final:
Janus beats Raven to take his first OTB trophy. Two of the most gifted stars in the GWF meet in the big final. Everyone expecting a match of technical moves and good wrestling. Janus is taking a leaf out of Pulsar’s books by donning an eye patch. The effects of Vengeance’s Eye Cleaver still lingering. Raven cleverly tries to attack from that side as impaired vision will hinder Janus. Injury or no injury Janus is no pushover and keeps Raven close to him. Favouring wear down holds and submission moves. Appears to work well for him and Raven is soon desperately trying to escape GORDION KNOT. He just about manages it. The crowd breathes a sigh of relief and then start to get excited as Raven gets on a run. He would become a legend of the tournament if he can win it a third time. Sadly the staged fight back is short lived. Janus shows his sight is better than first thought. Raven flies at him on the blindside but Janus moves and he tumbled over the top rope hitting the ground hard outside. Janus then pulls of his eye patch and proudly exclaims there was nothing wrong with his sight after all. He reaches out and pulls Raven back in the ring. A second GORDION KNOT finishes him off. Janus stands arrogantly in the ring. A worthy winner based on his exceptional talent but that doesn’t bring him any love from the crowd. The curtain falls on Janus being heckled as he leaves the ring but he doesn’t care. Reynard B. Guile rushes out from the curtain to meet him and the closing image of them both hugging and arrogantly parading the trophy.

GWF REPORT (SUDDEN DEATH 2103 CARDS 797 - 800)
Champions * GWF Galaxian Champ: Chaos (Top Contender: Raven) * GWF Tag Champs: Titan Fury (Top Contenders: Superiority Complex) * GWF Interplanetary Champ: Buck Steele (Top Contender: Mad Jester) * GWF Ladies Champ: Supernova (Top Contender: Ms. Liberty) Latest News: With OTB success the career of Buck Steele is now into the stratosphere. His incredible successes so far this year might just be making him the most popular guy in the fed. Hope Wolf doesn’t get too jealous and they don’t end up falling out. Obviously Buck loves the adulation but the thing that ticks him off is that it’s not him the fans love. It’s Genocide. If he doesn’t transform they end up getting dissapointed. That was evident when he defended his IP belt against Justice and beat him with his own two hands. The atmosphere was very different. In the main tournaments Janus and Superiority Complex came through to win. The run of Janus was exceptional considering nobody expected a winner other than either Chaos or Pegasus. The tournaments were a tale of woe for the Champions team. Pegasus and Coat of Arms both nosedived early. Only Colussus won a match for them but he was then easily despatched by Genocide. Has cost them a lot of points. Janus and Holocaust feud is heating up after a war of words. Janus touching a nerve when asking “how did you get in at OTB? Oh no wait. You weren’t even on the bill”. The origins of course coming from the little disagreement between Reynard B. Guile and Johnny Rocket on the GWF Heroes show. Of course it is not yet totally confirmed but both B. Guile and Rocket both insist that a match between them shall go ahead, if only their word was reliable. Destructon 3000 goes public about the whispers of disharmony between Mace and Dreggs which only increased after OTB. Mace lit a potential fuse by going behind his team’s back to enter the cage tournament. He said “it’s true they are not as close as they once were but both are still honourable men. They remain committed as a team and to achieving the goals of WAR. New Order will continue as a top performing tag team for many years to come”. Trouble is Mace had a successful run to the final. He is now thinking his decision to go solo was vindicated and maybe he is due a singles push.
On #804 a completely new match is coming. Four Weapons of Destruction. The exact rules haven’t been revealed but the name kind of gives it away. Commissioner Grogan was going to hold it back until 2104 but with his approval rating among fans plummeting wanted a quick fix. Splatter and Dreadnaught will be the test pilots for the match as they are both due back in action by then. Sounds like it could be just Splatter’s type of match.
INJURED – Archon (1), Dreadnaught (3); SUSPENDED – Splatter (3); Krakan WHOSE HOT … Buck Steele, Mace, Raven, Janus, Supernova, Superiority Complex, Titan Fury WHOSE NOT … Dark Justice, Terminus, Wolf, Mad Jester, Anaxis, Coat of Arms, Genesis Prime SUDDEN DEATH STANDINGS … not too much change due to OTB. Genesis and the Stormtroopers close up on both their rivals. The Titans extend their large lead. The WAR-Rocketmen is the closest to call.
Champions-Sam’s Stormtroopers 40-37 Genesis and Wolf-Colonizers of Scorpi 19-22 Gladiators-Hitmen 7-17 No Fear-Lords of Fire 1-14 WAR-Rocketmen 16-17 Fighting Titans-Masked Assassins 30-3 Savage Kingdom-Murderer’s Row 19-5 Flamboyance-Pillars of Power 4-11 Jack of Diamonds-Mad Jester 7-6 WRESTLER OF THE MONTH: Buck Steele - thrilling crowds everywhere he goes and now backing it all up with results and success. Winning OTB Hardcore bracket and holding the IP belt ain’t half bad. He is also dragging Genesis single handedly back into their feud with the Colonizers. TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH: Superiority Complex - you just cannot keep a great team down. They’ve been written off in recent years but prove they know how to win by beating a strong field to OTB glory. Like Chaos they seem to be reborn under Commando Sam’s guidance.

DARK MATCHES #1 - Castor Twin Towers: Thunder and Overkill overcome Hunter’s Moon by DQ. Decent battle. Hunter’s Moon more than holding their own against the Gladiators. Just all got a bit out of control when Wildcat rolled himself out of the ring. He was getting a bit of a pasting from Overkill at the time. Overkill couldn’t stop himself following him out whereupon he walked into a protective Mollock. The two huge specimens ended up grappling and to the delight of the fans Overkill was the one who got overpowered. He ended up being body slammed into the ring steps. Unfortunately it cost Hunter’s Moon the match.
Mad Jester easily beats his old leader Exo-King. Featured a rousing moment when Jester tried to foolishly choke slam the King but got blocked and choke slammed himself. The unexpected run of offence didn’t last long. The King immediately tries a falling elbow hammer and misses. As he staggers up he wanders into Jagged Edge Standing Kick. That really knocked the stuffing out of him. Jester waits again and as the King finally gets up takes him off his feet again with Mad Dash Clothesline and pins him.
Ram reluctantly faces Blizzard but beats him handsomely. More humiliation of Ram. He is frogmarched to the ring by Painmaster. Blizzard is already inside the ring firing off ice balls and Ram doesn’t want to get in there whilst this is happening. Painmaster uses a cattle prod to force him into the ring. The referee quickly warns Blizzard to cool it or he’ll be not only disqualified but thrown out the venue. As Blizzard argues his case Ram steams into him. After that Blizzard didn’t muster anything. Took a few minutes but Ram beats him after RAM CHARGE. Scourge crushed Pollux. Having won his first ever match by pin fall last time he wrestled Pollux thinks he is now hot property. Brazenly describes this as a squash match. It was a squash match but not in the way he intended. Pollux quickly brought back to reality. Scourge taking him out with LONE CONQUER in just a handful of moves.
Vertigo sends Tocsin into a spin. Vertigo wins the battle of tag specialists. Entertaining stuff as Vertigo withstands the intoxicating stench of HAZARDOUS WASTE a couple of times. Both carrying plenty of tokens by the time Vertigo takes victory after MOTION SICKNESS.
Flamboyance defeated Pillars of Power. Not much to say here. Queenie doing his giant killing act to slow Powerhouse. Vanity then finished him off with LADIES CHOICE.
DARK MATCHES #2 - Ganymede Stadium: Vengeance downs Buck Steele in a non-title match. Hardcore heaven for the local fans. With Buck in town the place is a sell out. Most wrestlers are coming a cropper against Buck because they are finding it very difficult not to trigger Genocide. Vengeance maybe a brutal and evil guy but he is also very intelligent. The sort that might be able to take the task on and get Buck beat without hurting him too bad. And so it proved as Vengeance gets an early advantage after dodging a turnbuckle charge. He then jumps on the opportunity to finish it fast with HELTER SKELTER. Buck was stunned and there was no hint of him changing form. It’s a much needed win for Vengeance as he certainly needed a big scalp. His first big task as the new leader of the Gladiators to win SUDDEN DEATH is not going to plan. Back on Aethra there is even thoughts of restoring the Legends. Maybe this is the start of something from Vengeance. Jack of Diamonds overcomes Janus by DQ but got knocked out in the process. Man of the moment Janus cavorts arrogantly to the ring carrying his OTB trophy. Reynard B. Guile is with him but rather than manage Janus spends his whole time polishing it and gloating. The sight of which irritates Exo-King who says his sceptre and crown are far more precious than that thing. A close match then takes place where both were foiled after their finishers. It ends abruptly when Janus seems to get bored. He grabs his trophy as a weapon and knocks Jack out with it. Janus then decides to punish Exo-King for such insolence towards an OTB winner. He tries to use it against him too. The King blocks the first blow with his sceptre but buckles under a second. The King gets unexpected help from Holocaust who comes out to make the save. He’s managed to get a hold of Mad Jester’s barbed rattle from the last match and is armed with it. The save is not out of any sympathy for Exo-King. It’s because he, or more specifically his manager Johnny Rocket, hates Janus. He swings at thin air and Janus just about gets away from him and hurriedly leaves. Crowd getting on the back of Janus for what he did but there is no action planned. Just a tiny rap on the knuckles. Guess CPC money speaks. Lords of Fire win an epic over Coat of Arms by DQ. Both teams really bring it. The Lords of Fire batter Star Warrior in the early part. The poor guy on the end of BURNING TOUCH and FLYING CROSS in quick succession. But Star Warrior not giving them the satisfaction of giving in. He holds on and eventually gets the hot tag. The match turned right around. Coat of Arms look like they may grab a big win as they unleash ENDGAME upon Bishop Hell. Maleph flies into the ring before the ref can even attempt a count. It screams and wails menacingly. It’s very unnerving. Alpha Force isn’t about to take this. He picks up a chair from outside and tries to swat Maleph. Although he cannot reach he manages to nail both Blazing Skull and Bishop Hell who cross his path. Amid all this the bell goes. Everyone assumed a double DQ but there is uproar when the Lords of Fire are proclaimed winners. The ref had decided to punish Alpha Force for the use of a chair.
Holocaust pinned Mad Jester. Holocaust isn’t concerned about Jester’s penchant for using a barbed rattle. In the programs notes his closing comment is “if he comes anywhere near me with that thing he’ll be wearing it”. Jester starts the stronger though. Dishing some meaty punishment and striking with A DEAD MAN’S VERSE. Holocaust managed to kick out and begin a big comeback. Jester cannot contain him and gets frazzled by SHOCKWAVE (+6). Holocaust then picks up Jester’s barbed rattle apparently as a souvenir of the win but then tells the groggy but giggling Jester “I’m just borrowing this for a while”.
Mace goes through Brainstorm. Mace still being given breathing space by his team. He keeps his impressive singles form going by quickly beating Brainstorm via MACE’S LITTLE HELPER.
Sick Things beat the Creeper and Karah by DQ. Chaotic match which ends when the Creeper gets agitated and starts attacking the referee for no reason.
