DARK MATCHES #3 - Phobos Sundome: Enigma wins against Pulsar by DQ. Things are on the up for Pulsar and Archon. They’ve got their mojo back and feel like they are ready to beat the Lords of Fire. Pulsar’s new manager, Thantos, is right behind them. But he reminds Pulsar it is still important to face other guys and maintain his singles rankings. The feud with Bishop Hell should not consume him. That’s the rationale behind this match up. Pulsar maybe an angry man in recent years but he knows Thantos is right. He aims to put the showboating Enigma in his place. Even goes so far as to call him “all style but no substance. Wait til ACID RAIN slows him down”. He takes that spoken aggression right into the match. Apart from an early cannonball Enigma puts very little on Pulsar. Desperate interference from Darkos keeps Enigma ticking. Pulsar is punished for ACID RAIN though. Got away with it once but not on the second time. Thantos claps the aggression of Pulsar and seemed very impressed with him. He has was pretty outspoken post match calling the referee weak but praised Pulsar, “this is not the same guy I remember wrestling all those years ago. He was always very talented but now he has added this layer of aggression I can see him achieving great things. Under my guidance of course.” Matador of M83 digs it out to beat Dragonmaster. The moody Matador’s role in the CPC is unclear at the moment. Seems to of fallen below Terminus and Janus in the pecking order. Even being pushed towards tag team action with matches being planned whereby he teams with Janus. So far he is being placated with promises of an even grander plan involving him. Tonight his brief is to beat one half of the tag team champions and to do it in style. It becomes a classic grind it out long match which Matador eventually wins. He catches Dragonmaster with a running torpedo to end the stern resistance.
X-Termination beat the gutsy duo of Dreggs and Eagle. With Mace still reluctant to pitch himself back into the tag arena Dreggs is forced to team with Eagle. He knows he needs to carry his inexperienced partner and do most of the work. Dreggs fights hard (as he always does) but there is great concern when he does tag out on defense. He desperately needs a rest. Eagle does him proud though and stands up for himself. Even hits DEADLY DESCENT on Sleeze twice. The move doesn’t have the mustard to actually lead to the win but it does enough damage to give Dreggs a shot at this. Feeling more energised Dreggs comes back into the action and nearly takes Grunge out but ultimately a run of devastating offence does for him. In short succession he is on the end of KILLER AIR GUITAR and HEADBANGERS BALL. The crowd gives Dreggs and Eagle an ovation for their efforts. They’d shown real spirit and nearly pulled off an upset. US. Patriot makes short work of Draconian Sheik. Adam almost playing a free role within the Champions team. He has been feuding with Heracles and Justice but is now taking on villains from all teams. The aim is to take out the trash from the GWF. His wife, Ms. Liberty, had wanted to be at ringside to support Adam. For her safety it is agreed she’ll stay back behind the curtain and watch on a monitor. The likes of Drac and Cannibal are just too unpredictable to take chances with. She proudly observes Adam easily dealing with Drac and needing just a few minutes to beat him with ADAM’S ATOMIC BLAST. Raven destroyed Vanity. With a massive shot at the Heavyweight belt looming (Raven’s reward for making it all the way to the final at OTB) practise matches are a necessity. Obviously Vanity detests being seen as cannon fodder and aims to spring a huge upset. Maxine Babe makes a surprise visit to Raven’s changing area and comes onto him. Naturally Raven brushes her off as she leans into him whereupon she pulls a small perfume spray hidden within her cleavage. Sprays it right in Raven’s face. The reaction leaves Raven temporarily blinded and there is some doubt he’ll even be able to make it out. Vanity is just to about to accept a forfeit win and is already celebrating. Suddenly to a huge cheer Raven hurtles down the runway apparently recovered. Catches Vanity unawares and completely dismantled him. His dangerous BLADERUNNER is the move that rounds it off.
Mayhem edges Kati. In an incredibly close and exciting match up the former Gladiator Mayhem managed to come through Kati's offences and win with his dare devil LEAP OF DOOM. Mayhem has festered in the GWF background of late but is ready to remind everyone he is still around.
DARK MATCHES #4 - Pelf Palace (Pilot show. Colby and Pelf buys up airtime and strikes a deal with Commissioner Grogan to broadcast CPC ALL STARS. Still considered a dark show because the screening is limited to a handful of galaxies. Grogan allows its GWF stars to compete as long as no title matches are booked. Colby and Pelf excitedly proclaim it to be the first phase of their brand extension. What does that mean?) Janus and Matador of M83 beat Superiority Complex. Janus and the Matador combined brilliantly to overcome Superiority Complex. It was a terrific see-saw battle which ended after the Matador blasted Skinhead with the Matador Death Run. Prodigy not on hand to help as he was laying in a heap on the floor having been flattened by Janus's high risk Cosmic Romp on the outside (thrilling move). Janus must of been thanking his lucky stars he didn't miss that one. Naturally Reynard B. Guile was jubilant. He had paced around throughout the match nervously knowing a defeat would put pressure back on him. His joyful reaction is to wave his top hat about and shout "just call me the Manager of the Champions!" The win against Superiority Complex could even move them towards a tag title match if things continue like this. Whether Janus and the Matador would be interested is another thing entirely. Anyhow, next target for this incredible superstar tag team is Chaos and Heracles. The match set be signed in a matter of days and it will be followed by what could be considered as a contention match with Thunder and Overkill.
Ram overcomes Lord Nexus in a great match. Lord Nexus was in electrifying form, he may be ageing but he looked like his old agile self from the very start as he blasted Ram with an incredible array of moves. However despite being a rather bloody mess as a result of the Lord’s onslaught Ram showed he still has the necessary credentials to mix it in the ring and bested Nexus with a well timed flying leap off the turnbuckle. He had won with the sort of move Nexus would normally be associated. Afterwards when coaxed into an interview Lord Nexus admitted that he was shocked not to win, he'd given his all tonight but it wasn't enough. He even said it might be a sign to him that his time as a wrestler was running out. Shame if that happens but maybe it’s the right thing to do. He is already proving that he is a great manager and that’s a full time job in itself. Wildcat does well to beat Terminus by DQ. Colby and Pelf continuing to pin a lot on Terminus. He may be without his treasured IP belt but he still seems to be the one they are throwing all their weight behind. Terminus wanted a bigger name to face him on this pilot show. Arrogantly describing Wildcat as a jobber. Wildcat would of loved to of made him eat those words with a pin fall victory. Despite a huge effort and even a clean hit with WILDCAT STRIKE Wildcat can only muster a DQ victory. Terminus using the outside to batter Wildcat. Still it was good to see the ref not scared to DQ the CPC guys here at the Palace. There have been a lot of accusations of bribery in the past.
Sleeze overcame Eagle. Sleeze withstood a very spirited performance from Eagle but expectedly took the match after knocking the youngster senseless with a Sleeze Sledgehammer. However Raven was said to be extremely proud of his cousin having seen him very nearly upset Sleeze.
Flamboyance again has the measure of the Pillars of Power. They meet for the second time this month. Result is the same but Flamboyance get it done even quicker. Once again Vanity catches Powerhouse with LADIES CHOICE. Flamboyance coming back big in this feud. Pulsar pinned Scourge. Pulsar took a relatively easy win despite a strong start by Scourge. He eventually succumbed having been blinded by ACID RAIN.

Card 801 – Capella Star Gardens: (COMMANDO SAM PROMO … To open the show we get a pre recorded segment with Sam who wants to send a message to his enemies. "Listen up and listen good because I'm here to warn the cosmos. Warn it not to get too excited about Omega and his wimp team because otherwise there is gonna be a lot of broken hearted fans when the Stormtroopers 'storm' all over the Champions of the Galaxy. They are a great unit I'll give them that, together they have scored many important victories over the years but they have never actually taken on myself and the most awesome mind ever, Mesmer. Together with his diabolical mind, my incredible military strategy and Chaos the Indestructible we’re gonna inflict their first and what will be, in years to come, biggest defeat ever! I’m also warning the CPC. They are on our military radar too and we will take them down. Especially those deserters Janus and the Matador. Maggot Colby and his witch of a wife think they can buy their way to greatness. But nobody can stop a team of Stormtroopers. They’ll be left penniless if they insist on taking us on”) Ladies champ, Supernova, continues to reign supreme as she defeats Ms. Liberty. Supernova has proven unbeatable for well over a year and surely is the greatest female wrestler in GWF history. Nobody can get the belt off her. Tonight it is the turn of her great mate Ms. Liberty to try again. Quick hug before the bell between the two friends and then all down to business. Ms. Liberty gives it her best shot but the gulf in ability is soon apparent. A spectacular Supernova Scissors Flip manages to keep the title run going. Sportingly Ms. Liberty recovers and collects the belt for Supernova and hands it to her. Suddenly there is drama as Maxine Babe runs into the ring. Fronts up and angrily accuses Supernova of using her fame to sleep with Vanity. Some gasps are heard from within the crowd but it’s clearly fabricated to force a feud. Supernova won’t give her the satisfaction of a reaction. She knows Maxine Babe is desperate for the headlines. Ms. Liberty isn’t quite so prepared to let her get away with it though. Having had her own name dragged through the gutter by Maxine it’s time for some payback. Comes in behind Maxine Babe with a running bulldog. Knocks her clean out. She then has a great idea and whispers something to Supernova which makes her laugh. Ms. Liberty runs out to the back and within moments darts back to the ring with an animal costume, some wipes and a packet of permanent marker pens. The two buddies dress Maxine up in a penguin suit which also makes her look fat, wipe the make up away and draw on a moustache. For someone so fashion conscious and precious about her looks this is a humiliation. Maxine Babe’s reaction when she comes around and sees what she looks like on the video screen is priceless. Waddles off screaming and covering her face. Even tripping over in the runway as most of the crowd point and laugh. She got what she deserved.
Castor Chain match, Pegasus takes no prisoners as he convincingly beats Wolf. No time to charge the batteries after OTB. Two of the main protagonists cast themselves back into the action. Both needing a win to lift themselves having faced humiliating first round exits. Fans cheering for them in equal measure. It was Wolf behind the match conditions as he craved hardcore action. Pegasus seeing the glory of beating him in such a setting was more than happy to oblige. Wolf is carrying a slight injury (I added a token) coming into it after a brawl with Genocide in training left him worse for wear. In an interesting start the pair of them play tug of war with the chain. Pegasus eventually winning that particular spot but as he pulls Wolf in towards him just gets met with a ferocious claw. The intensity of which sends him stumbling backwards and he gets his foot caught on the chain. Falls hard on the back of his head. Before Wolf can capitalise Pegasus puts chain up in front of him. It goes right into the throat of Wolf causing a lot of distress. Both are already damaged and it’s only the first minute. Pegasus proceeds to start using the chain very effectively from then on. At one point he even used the chain to tie Wolf to the turnbuckle post and unloaded numerous attacks to his prone opponent. Wolf was nearly pinned after that but held on and then tried to battle back. It was a brief awakening. He was in much worse condition than Pegasus having already picked up 4 tokens by this point. Pegasus fends him off and launches his second and final wave of offence. Culminates in PROJECT PEGASUS. Crucial confidence restoring win. Wolf left licking his wounds. Cygnus Brass Knuckles, Ram sends Buck Steele / Genocide crashing to a second loss. Title wasn’t on the line. Looking more like a lamb sent to the slaughter Ram faces the in form Buck in his favourite type of match. The only reason Mandrill managed to convince him was because he promised to give Ram a push towards the IP belt and lighten up his slave duties if he won. Secretly he is just playing with his Ram. Hoping that he can injure Buck and set him up so that he will drop that belt later in the month. He just cannot stand any of the Genesis guys wearing belts and outshining the Colonizers. Mandrill’s team have been starved of belt success over the years. Buck is wearing the knuckles enthusiastically. Lightening jabs through the air to limber up. Ram proceeds with caution. Becomes a bit of a mad match. Genocide triggers early but makes a lot of trouble for himself by missing CORPUS GENOCIDE twice. Unbelievably Ram soon manages to put four tokens on him. Memories of what happened against Painmaster come flooding back. But then Ram completely missed RAM CHARGE and Genocide got hyper again. This time CORPUS GENOCIDE hits the mark. Looks like normal service will resume but Ram hangs on. Quickly realised that Genocide is uncomfortable with the knuckles (unlike Buck). Raises a fist as Genocide charges him and catches a devastating knock out punch. The tokens creep up again and incredibly Ram puts Genocide down for good after his third RAM CHARGE of the match. Amazing result and looks like the Colonizers have uncovered Genocide’s weakness. Chaos and Heracles steamroll Janus and Matador of M83. A tag rivalry building. Normally Chaos thinks tag matches are beneath him but he really wants to show his teaming with Heracles is superior to the cream of the CPC. It’s also a chance to blow off some steam after his OTB disaster. Commando Sam is doing a good job of getting under the skin of Janus. Bragging that the careers of his troops have been greatly enhanced by his military know how. Closes by saying “Janus will come crawling back and when he does the door will be firmly shut. Nobody returns from a dishonourable discharge”. Janus doesn’t take that quietly and immediately reminds him of who won OTB. Then waves the trophy right under the nose of Chaos on his ring entrance. Tellingly the Matador doesn’t look impressed by the antics of his team mate. Maybe he is jealous and still angry at the fact he never even got entered into the tournament and given the chance to defend the trophy he won last year. Despite the uneasy alliance Janus and Matador have worked well together. They’ve already got a win against Superiority Complex under their belts. However tonight they come unstuck. Matador starts badly against Heracles. He then gets fed to Chaos who makes an audacious move off the top rope against him. Matador fails to get out of the way. It’s a pretty hefty hit but it is still a surprise that he got pinned. It’s now the turn of Chaos to brag. He kicks Matador out of his ring space and holds the high ground. Heracles and Sam flank him and are patting his back. All Janus and Matador can do is stand and point threateningly but they daren’t try to re-enter. After a few minutes back and forth verbals they cave in and leave. No Fear turn the tables to beat Assassin Greatness. Archon is full of life ahead of the bout. Despite all that is happened in the last few months he is living proof that the people of Centaurus can be happy again. Excitedly telling Qualitar “the last of my bandages are off tomorrow and my rehab is all finished. Onwards and upwards now. No Fear are going to win the battle against the Lords of Fire. It will be done for Crossfire!” Of course there is the small matter of this match against the Assassins to deal with. Get their tag team skills on the road. For a while it’s a throwback to the purity of wrestling. Both teams having a really good grapple. Everyone wonders if we might see ACID RAIN as Archon has already said he’ll turn a blind eye to it if the opposing villain gives enough provocation. But there is no need for it. Whilst under pressure Pulsar looks as if he is about be to double teamed. As he gets tossed into the ropes for a double clothesline he ducks under it. Comes back with an incredible one of his own. Picks up Enigma, who is now the legal man in, and punches him out with WHIRLWIND. Manslaughter slaps his head in annoyance that they were caught napping like that. Great win for No Fear. There are fireworks quite literally after the match. No Fear returns to their private changing area. Upon opening a locker several go off almost in their faces. Both Pulsar and Archon miraculously escape potentially lethal injuries. Work of the dastardly Lords of Fire for sure. US. Patriot takes a win over a wild Mayhem by DQ. Mayhem comes out the blocks fast. Looks like Adam’s going to have a difficult match. But he wrestled it smart. If he couldn’t beat Mayhem clean (and it didn’t appear as if that might happen tonight) then he’ll try and let Mayhrm dig his own grave. So whenever Mayhem wanted to move the action outside Adam let him. He brawled with him as best he could. Sure enough Mayhem couldn’t keep his hands off grabbing a weapon and as soon that happened the bell sounded. Job done Adam was out of there nice and quick before he actually got hit with anything nasty.

Card 802 – Capella Star Gardens: Tag champs, Titan Fury, lose to Superiority Complex by count-out. After the drama of these two teams meeting in the final of OTB the sequel soon arrives. In the form of a huge title match for the belts. Superiority Complex have not held them in a long, long time but under Commando Sam are on the way back to the top. Word is Mesmer has been also been using some hypnosis to get them believing again. It’s a dramatic arrival from Superiority Complex as they blaze up the runway on their motorcycles and then proceed to drive them around the ring several times. Lord Nexus has to take evasive action to avoid being run over. Even Commando Sam is on a vehicle. Choosing to ride on a huge quad bike painted in military camouflage. The match is typically dramatic. Superiority Complex are really up for it and Rising Sun almost loses to Skinhead’s BAD ATTITUDE. However his recent displays have been among the gutsiest ever seen and he surges back. Then a controversial moment and something so unlike him. He missed a crucial death jump. Or was he pushed by Commando Sam? Whatever, Rising Sun falls hard outside and gets counted out. Superiority Complex fail to retrieve Rising Sun to pin him for some reason. Commando Sam expects his team to be given the titles but the officials refuse to hand them over. Sam’s tirade lasts long after the match and it takes the dramatic appearance of Commissioner Grogan to silence him. With the threat of suspension hanging over him Sam and his team have to back down. Within hours Sam posts online to demand that Superiority Complex receives an immediate rematch. He was clearly still very agitated as there was some colourful language. Posts were later edited after he’d had a chance to calm down.
Cage match, Heracles completely battered Wolf. Heracles trying to muscle in on Wolf’s turf as king of cage matches. Being on a run of hardcore matches Wolf again meets such a challenge head on. The booking is typical of his unpredictable nature and willingness to take on heroes and villains in equal measure. Last week it was Pegasus and now it’s Heracles. Next time, well it’s anybody’s guess. Maybe he’ll get his mind back on the Genesis feud with the Colonizers. But for now there was a cage match and the powerful Heracles to deal with. In an entrance we haven’t seen for a while Heracles is back to using guys dressed as slaves (in truth just paid local wrestlers and bodybuilders) to carry him on a luxurious sofa towards the cage. Anaxis is also sprawled over him stroking his face and chest. Although when the procession finishes she is not allowed to stay and is quickly sent away. Wolf looks irate inside the cage as he waits for the whole charade to end. It proves to be a big diversion as Dark Justice carries out orders from Commando Sam. He enters the cage behind Wolf and smashes him with a combat helmet. As soon as Wolf goes down Heracles gets up and causally enters the cage. From there on he mauls Wolf. There is no fight back. Wolf hangs on as long as he can and is up to 6 tokens by the end which shows great spirit. He cannot hang on forever though. Heracles hits OLYMPIA (it was about the fifth or sixth time) and Wolf finally goes limp. Heracles causally leaves the cage unhindered to claim a massive rankings boost on the back of winning. Will Wolf come back after Heracles for this? He already accepts he should of kept his wits about him better and refuses to use excuses for the loss. Terminus and Matador of M83 get the better of Genesis Prime. More tag action for the Matador. He can turn his hand to anything but this is surely a waste of his supreme talent. All that aside the CPC team do what’s expected of them. Vertigo probably trying to do too much on his own gets into some strife against Terminus. When Matador later gets in the ring it’s just a cause of polishing him off which he dutifully does with a double flying fist. Whilst Terminus and the Matador fail to look very excited Reynard B. Guile clearly has ants in his pants. Jumping around and telling all and sundry that the CPC will be revealing a big surprise very soon. Thrash gets a rare win over Amazonia but has to make do with it being by DQ. The women are getting tired of the superlatives describing Supernova and whether anyone can ever get the title off her. Amazonia brazenly declares she’ll be the one to do it. First she needs to prove her worthiness by beating old rival, Thrash. The female Gladiator refuses to be a stepping stone and fights hard to stop it happening. Amazonia is desperate to earn herself that title shot and does some questionable things. Often skating on thin ice with the ref. Eventually when she is seen as perpetrator of a brawl the ref calls the bell. Amazonia dismayed and it may of blown her chance of getting a shot at Supernova now.
Cannibal gets revenge on Pollux. Cannibal back to feast on Pollux. May of been on a dark show but news soon got out about Pollux beating Cannibal a few weeks ago. The humiliation obviously got too much bear and Cannibal challenged for a rematch. Pollux arrogantly accepting “sure thing, I’ll just beat you again and this time I won’t go easy”. Cannibal might never live this one down if he stumbles again. Looking to kill it off early Cannibal doesn’t take long to use THROAT SLIT. There’s no DQ but Cannibal rages as Pollux slips out of it. Could lightening really be about to strike twice? Sadly not, Cannibal tosses Pollux around some more before wrapping the thread round the neck of Pollux again. Pollux desperately tries to prise it away but cannot do so this time and soon passes out.
Karah beats Mutant by DQ. Karah’s body language suggests he doesn’t fancy this. Mutant is running amok and biting anything in sight. Even the ref gets an ear nibbled. Terak tries to encourage the youngster to get stuck in but Karah just tries to keep away from Mutant. With no handler present Mutant is just too out of control. The ref calls time when Mutant triggers a brawl. Match was a dud.

Card 803 – Albireo Temple:
(Crowd frustration as all the big meetings end in DQ. It wasn’t that they were bad matches. Plenty of dramatic action but not the outcomes hoped for. In later years when Grogan is working for the CPC cards like this go under the microscope. He is accused of instructing the referees to calls lots of DQ outcomes to kill the spectacle and make the CPC look more enticing. Whether that’s true or not will never be known. The plans of the CPC were still very much unknown at the time. Some wrestling historians dispute this and say that Grogan wasn’t swayed by Colby and Pelf until much nearer his official heel turn) Heavyweight champ, Chaos, is beaten by Raven via a DQ. Big ONLY THE BEST rematch and the chance to capture the gold for Raven. Feels like a long time since he has reached these heights. As they stand in opposite corners of the ring ready to get it on Raven works the occasion. “Not so unbeatable now” is his taunt towards Chaos after what went down at OTB. Chaos is so angry that he climbs out the ring and punches a table so hard that it breaks in half. Commando Sam tries to calm the big man down. He knows Chaos needs to go into the battlefield with a cool head. Chaos takes a few short breaths and then glanced over at the Alpha Stone. Satisfied that it is glowing healthily he returns to the ring and makes a crushing gesture with his hands back at Raven. Before his gesturing is complete Raven flies towards him with a drop kick. He’s not going to wait around any longer. Initially Chaos swats him away. Begins much the stronger and looks like he is going to start deploying BOW OF DEFEAT numerous times. Raven counters before he can latch on and then gives it everything. In another brilliant display he hits BROADSWORD. Although Chaos kicks out easily enough it has clearly got Sam outside worried. First opportunity he gets Sam attacks Raven on the outside. Happy to force the DQ and protect the belt. Raven erupts with uncharacteristic fury over the outcome. Will he get given another chance by the GWF championship committee?
The Mercenaries grab victory against Thunder and Overkill by DQ. Huge meeting. Gladiators not been anywhere near their best since the beginning of their feud with the Hitmen. With pressure mounting all the time back on Aethra this is a match that must be won. They still owe the Mercenaries big time for the attempted humiliation of Thunder a couple months ago. One big advantage they have going into this bout is that Krakan is still banned from going to any GWF arenas. The Gladiators have Thrash to call on and she has a point to prove herself. By assisting the Gladiators to victory it will prove her value. Also take heat off of her for so far failing to capture the Women’s belt. In a wild opening the ring announcer gets the introductions wrong. The Gladiators were stationed behind the ring curtain expecting to be announced first. However the Mercenaries were the ones called out. It meant the Mercenaries came rushing forth on hearing this. Both teams then met in the small corridor by the entrance and it all went off. The crowd could hear the carnage and within moments everyone burst through the curtain. It was an all out brawl. Even Thrash was involved. Quite how they all made it towards the ring and a match got started was a miracle. But within just a few minutes it descends into chaos again. Overkill ends up grabbing a spike off one of his shoulder pads and trying to drive it through Vigilante’s eye. It’s an instant DQ. This feud is getting pretty ugly with no apparent limits to the lengths all the guys involved are prepared to go to.
Archon downs Blazing Skull by DQ. Back to full health. Archon declares to Qualitar “I’ve never felt better!” Thantos still using the crutch but the way in which he moves looking like he barely needs it. In fact it becomes a valuable tool as he uses it to reach up and strike Maleph. The dangerous manager was flapping around and trying to dive bomb Archon every time the ref’s back was turned. Thantos gets a really clean hit and Maleph falls pathetically to the ground amid much cheering. Although the morals of Archon make it very difficult for Thantos to interfere in his behalf he seemed appreciative to his manager for this. He also took the win by DQ as the ref had grown fed up with Maleph’s penchant for disorder. Deep down Archon will be disappointed. What he really wanted to do was make Blazing Skull submit but declares the victory to be significant. Post match he posts online “good win tonight. No Fear’s fight back starts here”. Janus wins a long match over Holocaust. Most of the heat in this one existed between the managers rather than the two guys wrestling. Johnny Rocket spent most of the bout being a real wind up merchant. Cracking jokes at Reynard’s expense. When Reynard bites back and calls Johnny an idiot that only manages circus freaks it prompts Holocaust to try and go after him. He manages to back Reynard into a corner who cowers before him. Holocaust is unable to do any damage though as Janus grabs the Gladiatorial helmet and smashes him down from behind. Really sets the tone of things. It was a rattling blow but Holocaust survives the assault and almost gets Janus with SHOCKWAVE later in the bout. Only a Reynard distraction saves him. The momentum now passes back and forth many times but Janus ultimately outlasts his opponent and wins with a cosmic romp. Eagle overcomes Gila. Brainstorm is trying to mess with Eagle’s mind. Shows up as Gila’s advisor vowing to educate him on how to beat Eagle. Brainstorm brags “I worked on an equation last night and calculated with only a 2 percent degree of uncertainty that Gila will beat Eagle in less than five minutes. With my help of course”. Of course the match is a comedy of errors. Eagle has put in some spirited performances of late but he’s really unsettled by Brainstorm. Twice he hit DEADLY DESCENT but allowed Brainstorm to distract him. Doesn’t look it’ll be his night as Gila then gets on top after Eagle took a blow from Brainstorm’s book. Luckily Brainstorm got his sums wrong. Gila just doesn’t have the talent to capitalise. Eagle stays alive and gets another chance to put some moves on Gila. Nails DEADLY DESCENT a third and final time and this time gets enough time to complete the pin. Sick Things beat Hunter’s Moon on a DQ decision. Won’t be featuring on any GWF greatest matches compilations. Wildcat unusually falls foul of a fussy ref whilst grappling Death’s Head. The DQ outcome sets the stall out on a frustrating card.

Card 804 – SATURDAY NIGHT STARSLAMMERS – Deimos Intergalactic Arena:
(This was much more like it. The frustrating outcomes of the previous card become a distant memory. Matches tonight have some weird and wacky events but there are plenty of outright winners and lots of excitement. I very much enjoyed playing this one. Every card gets rated out of 5 by the fans via online polls and this got one of the highest averages of all time. Featuring in the top ten)
Interplanetary champ, Buck Steele / Genocide, wins a weird battle against Mad Jester. Potential for wildness. Jester is so crazy he would probably enjoy taking Genocide on. If he uses that barbed rattle of his then he’s sure to get a reaction. Buck is still smarting from a recent shock defeat to Ram whilst in his Genocide persona. In fact Ram, under orders from Mandrill, has challenged the winner of the match for the belt. His brief is to capture the belt and then surrender it one of his superiors. Presumably Nefarus. It would be interesting to see how the GWF would deal with this if it happens. Lots of confusion at the start as Jester fails to walk through the curtain for his ring announcement. All the eyes are on the curtain but no sign of Jester. Buck, who was already in the ring by this time, looks pretty ticked off. He doesn’t want to win by forfeit. He was looking forward to testing himself. What he failed to notice amid the noise was that Jester was just pulling another stunt. In an entrance like no other Jester flutters down from the arena rafters on a big clown parachute. With expert precision he pilots himself down right behind Buck. Takes him down with a punishing variation of the jagged edge kick for an immediate advantage. Jester then savages Buck for the next few minutes. The fans are worried as Buck is lined up for A DEAD MAN’S VERSE. There’s no transformation and Jester gets away with the move and goes for pin. Incredibly Buck gets a shoulder up in the nick of time. Jester gives a frustrated giggle and plans his next dastardly move. Grabs the parachute and puts it over him and Buck to obscure the view. Underneath it the crowd can see lots of movement but nobody can quite see what’s going on. There is fear for what might be happening especially if that rattle has come into play and he’s trying to carve Buck up. Suddenly Genocide rips through it. Jester looks terrified and tries to run but gets his feet caught in the chords and trips. Genocide starts pounding him and soon goes for CORPUS GENOCIDE. It’s an awesome site. Normally the only way to survive it is to hope Genocide misses. However Jester might just be the first to actually kick out after being hit. Nobody can quite believe it. But Genocide doesn’t dwell on it. If anything it increases his rage. Poor Jester is planted ferociously into each of the turnbuckles and his face is split open. Genocide stands him up in the centre of the ring and waits for Jester to then just collapse before pinning him. It was just in time too for as Genocide is covering his body is already beginning to shrink. The hand the ref raises in victory is that of Buck and not Genocide.
The Mercenaries defeat Thunder and Overkill in a Titan Death match. Nobody expected this. Fans go crazy when this match gets added to the bill at late notice. Nobody was satisfied with the outcome on the last show when the teams met including the wrestlers. Some strings get pulled and the Conmissioner agrees to let the promoter book an immediate rematch. Every match pitting the Gladiators against the Hitmen seems to get built up as critical but it’s the same here. After the wild brawl that started before the bell last time the GWF officials are very careful to keep the two teams separated at the venue until the bout commences. All goes down ok and the first time everyone sets eyes on each other is not until they are all in the ring. Seems though that everyone wants to start the match off. There is some mild arguing between Soldier of Fortune and Vigilante over who stays in. As they argue it out Overkill comes over and settles it. Smashes their heads together and tosses Soldier of Fortune out the ring. A brutal and barbaric encounter unfolds from this point on. Both teams had countless chances to win with virtually every single finisher attempted at least once. But the brawling and double teaming was just relentless. It couldn’t go on like this too long and someone would surely start to wilt under the ferocity of it all. That person seemed to be Thunder as his token count climbed dangerously high. The Mercenaries sought to finish him off with OPERATION: AMBUSH after about 15 long and brutal minutes. Overkill had been floored with a rifle during the build up to this so there was now no saving Thunder. That was until Thrash, who was watching closely just inside the curtain, charged up the runway armed with a spike and tried to drive it into the back of Soldier of Fortune’s skull. It was a hard blow and appeared to do considerable damage. Vigilante reacted by grabbing her by the hair. Thrash fights him hard but is overpowered and tossed from the ring. She is powerless to stop the inevitable. Vigilante places his barely conscious partner on top of Thunder to complete the pin. Ramifications of all this are huge for the Gladiators. Thrash faces a possible suspension for interfering in the match. It’s forbidden by the rules. Also unhappiness on Aethra at the outcome. Thunder seen as a weak link on the team and it’s possible he’ll be replaced in the tag team by a more suitable partner for Overkill next year. However it has been noted that Thunder might fare better as a singles competitor having shown promise in this area. So he may well be spared (that’s my setup for Malice coming in next year and Thunder going singles with his killer upgrade).
Castor Chain match, Pulsar was inspired in beating Blazing Skull. No Fear under no illusions that they’ve got to start winning these feud matches to make up the difference. Losing this particular battle could undo much of the positivity the team has built up over the month. Of course Pulsar has got more to lose than his partner if they do ultimately come up short with the threat of retirement hanging over him. Thantos warns about agreeing to too many special matches and playing into the hands of the Lords of Fire. But ACID RAIN is easier to get away with little or no rules. Also being attached by the chain will make it tough for Blazing Skull to get away from him. However it also poses great risk to Pulsar should the skullcap work loose and any explosion occur. Pulsar doesn’t let that worry him and hungrily attacks Blazing Skull as soon as the bell goes and they are let off the leash. With the chain wrapped round his fist he swings aggressively at Blazing Skull. Initially he swings at air but then one connects. It was such an impact there was concern the skull cap might become loose but it seems to stay in place for the match remainder. Having set the stall out early Pulsar is inspired with his chain for the rest of the bout. Using it very effectively to keep Blazing Skull on the back foot. He looks the very likely winner from early on and it’s no surprise when he blasts ACID RAIN to take a very important win. Archon, who has very much got the hang of all this social media stuff, is online minutes after the match ended with “Love that. Not my type of move to win a match but Blazing Skull had that coming. My turn now to make him submit. Nothing would make me happier than to hear him tap out. Well done Pulsar. You made our buddy Crossfire up in heaven proud”. Four Weapons of Destruction, Splatter leaves Dreadnaught in a bloody mess. Crowd had barely got its breath back after the drama of the last match but now another huge moment. Splatter and Dreadnaught were both back at same time returning from suspension and injury respectively. What better way than to book them in this brutal match. The first of its kind and guaranteed to put one of them out of action again. The crowd winces as the announcer explains the rules. There is going to be plenty of blood involved what with the use of chain and barbed wire. Not to mention the potential to get fried by the electrified turnbuckle or the stun rod. Splatter loves it when he enters the ring. Looks longingly at all the weapons at his disposal. For him it’s like five weapons of destruction as he also keeps Arsenal nearby for possible use. There are no restrictions on its use in this type of match. Dreadnaught is as brave as he is foolish by agreeing to this. But he blindly believes he still has what it takes to beat Splatter even in this dangerous setting. It doesn’t take long for the first weapon to be used as Splatter takes a shine to the stun rod. He batters Dreadnaught and even uses a combination of weapons. Looks really bad for Dreadnaught but fair play to him. Dreadnaught does try to make a fight of it. Puts a few marks on Splatter and actually has him on 4 tokens by the time he was defeated. So not a total walkover. But of course this match was made for Splatter who delivers the expected victory. It was interesting that he seemed to ignore all the weapons at his disposal after a while and made a beeline for his own one. Choosing to beat Dreadnaught repeatedly with MEET ARSENAL. With Dreadnaught out for the count Splatter is declared the winner. But rather than bask in victory Splatter starts to go mad. Officials descend on the ring and start to remove the weapons and restore the ring to its normal state. It drives him nuts to see these precious items taken away and treated with such respect. He gets so out of control that he starts to attack the officials. Security swarms towards the ring. The only way they can control him is to blast with high pressured hoses. Splatter gets forced back up the runway and out of sight. Several members of the crowd got soaked and didn’t look too impressed. Back in the ring Dreadnaught needs a lot of medical assistance but forces himself to stand and refuses the stretcher. But he needs to go straight to the medical centre for checks. He has several injuries. Nothing that will keep him out of the ring but won’t be fully healed for about a month (4 cards).
The Matador wins against Pegasus in a bout full of technical mastery. Colby enters the ring first and grabs the microphone from the announcer. He is flanked by Sonora Pelf. Looking dazzling in a dress made of finest silk. A hush falls over the crowd. Everyone curious about what he will say. Suddenly he announces the Matador and declares him to be the CPC champion. Matador comes out wearing a solid gold belt emblazoned with the logo and surrounded by diamonds. It might just be one of the expensive items in the entire cosmos. He struts around with it before handing over to an excited Reynard B. Guile who places it on a red velvet cushion. Within moments the belt gets blurred on the live stream but everyone in the arena continues to marvel at its splendour. Reynard makes sure they all get a good view. Even the Matador’s opponent, Pegasus, gets taken in by its beauty. He must of been wondering what would happen if he won. Was the belt on the line? Given his own big ego (still not able to act like a true hero all of the time) the precious belt certainly wouldn’t look out of place around his waist. The match itself almost paled in significance to the events that had taken place before it. But when it got started it was the expected feast of incredible wrestling so typical of these two awesome talents. Textbook moves, counters and no shortage of drama. The result constantly in the balance with both trying and failing to beat the other with their finishers. Ultimately someone had to win and it was the Matador. Desperate not to lose the CPC belt straight away he finds another gear and hits BULLWHIP a second time. Interestingly Magnus Colby, trying to raise the profile of the CPC belt, offers Pegasus another chance to win it next month. He said “Pegasus is still the top contender. We offer him another chance to try and win this prestigious prize”. As of the next day the offer remained unanswered. Coat of Arms and Colussus overcome Superiority Complex and Chaos. The Champions have been tucked up again as Mesmer and Commando Sam ensure this is not a fair contest. Once again they are at ringside whilst Omega is unable to appear again (as per the terms of the contract signing). How have the Champions fallen into this trap again? Omega tries to reason with the officials but his path is blocked. Even his legendary status is not enough to get himself in the corner of his guys. Commando Sam jokes that Omega’s complaining shows how selfish he is and says his team is being put in front of the firing squad tonight. That soon backfires. Maybe it’s the odds being stacked against them that drives the Champions team on. For they turn it into positive and fight harder then they have done in a long time. Star Warrior was absolutely sensational. Rolling back the years and repeatedly hitting Prodigy with COSMIC BIG BANG until Alpha Force joined him and they executed ENDGAME. There was the added bonus of Mesmer getting taken out by Colussus when he tried to interfere. Amid all this it was notable that Chaos offered no help to his team. Preferring not to get his hands dirty. If it was anyone else Commando Sam would surely of read them the riot act. But Chaos is so important for achieving the goals of Sam and Mesmer that they dare not call him out on anything. These are still dangerous times for Omega and his team but tonight belonged to them and they were going to enjoy it. They celebrated hard inside the ring. Sam called his team off and warned the Champions team that they had won the battle but will never win the war. Genesis Prime grab a vital point against Animen Uprising via a DQ win. Wraith tries to unsettle Mandrill and Ram before the bell by using his invisibility to appear right in front of them in the runways they approach. He is armed with a chair. Mandrill fails to flinch. Wraith then disappears again and rematerialises back in the ring sitting on the chair. Seconds later he appears close to them again. This time from behind. Ram looks slightly spooked but Mandrill remains as cool as a cucumber. All these fancy tricks mean nothing. Inside the ring he knows limits will be imposed on Wraith. It’s fair to say that this little game was the best part of the match. Once it got going Vertigo soon finds himself in a lot of peril against Mandrill. But Mandrill and Ram get their signals wrong and an attempt with VOLTAIC STUNNER gets punished. An angry looking Mandrill frogmarched Ram back down the runway. Ram looking very sheepish and probably expecting some to pretty heavy handed punishment from his masters on the back of this. Painmaster has already let it be known that Ram is lashed regularly for not fulfilling duties.
Terminus beats Holocaust by DQ. Under early pressure Holocaust bails out for some words of wisdom from Johnny Rocket. Reynard B. Guile laughs at such a move. The two managers then end up fighting among themselves. The ref breaks it up and gives them a last warning. Johnny doesn’t heed the warning and soon constantly accuses the ref of corruption citing slow counts. The irate official responds by ejecting him from the match. Terminus goes onto win by DQ although he was probably just as culpable for the brawl that broke out as Holocaust was. Although it was probably poetic justice as Terminus had been foiled near the start of the match after HAMMERLOCK SLAM. Johnny Rocket’s running interference before his ejection.

‘STARS OF THE GALAXY - VOLUME 8’ released.
The usual assortment of unusual segments adorn this latest release available for digital download. Up first is Mad Jester clowning around. As part of his training he sets up a big box in the middle of a dark room and cautiously approaches it. Before he gets there the room lights up and reveals mirrors around the walls. Suddenly Jack of Diamonds appears in each of them. Jester goes totally cuckoo and proceeds to smash every one of them. The room is a mess but when he finally finishes attentions turn back to the box where the handle is still turning. After a few seconds of suspense it springs open to reveal absolutely nothing. Just a spring. Mad Jester screams and runs out the room. Bizarre ... Maxine Babe takes the viewers on a night of clubbing. She has a small camera hidden in her cleavage. Highlights include a dance off against Cassandra who is at the same venue. Then she slaps some alien trying to come onto her and claiming to be a Cygnusian war hero. The last shot is unpleasant and gets partially obscured. Having had far too much to drink Maxine is heading straight towards the restroom to presumably vomit ... Buck Steele and Wolf in training. This is the incident that led to Wolf being injured ahead of his match last month with Pegasus. In true Wolf style he fights with the same intensity in training as he does in the ring. Buck yells out to cut him some slack but it falls on deaf ears. Wolf starts smashing Buck with violent blows to the head and the transformation happens. Viewers get treated to a short battle where Genocide and Wolf tear shreds out of each other. We never quite get to see it how it ends but there was blood everywhere ... X-Termination back to bad habits? Losing the titles a while back and then missing OTB may of taken its toll. Fan recorded footage shows them out in the streets of Ganymede holding bottles. Grunge looks drunk as a lord. But when the camera zooms in on the bottle it’s alcohol free lager. They are playing an act to generate sympathy and get fast tracked to a title shot. Trouble is when the local authorities show up and bundle them into the back of a vehicle things go wrong. Sleeze ends up protesting their innocence and gets into a ruck with a cop. He gets tasered for his actions. The last we see of them is being forced into a holding cell with some of Ganymede’s most notorious criminals. Not a good night for X-Termination but maybe it’s karma!
Mayhem destroyed Wolf in just two moves. What a way to end the tape. This showed a match that took place between these two blood enemies. Never wanting to put this feud on the back burner they meet away from the media glare on Ceres (one of the GWF’s smallest venues). What took place left everyone gobsmacked. Wolf barely had a chance to enter the ring when Mayhem attacked him with the chain. It was just before the bell and the ref let him get away with it. Didn’t want to deprive the fans of the match they’d waited all evening to see. It did so much damage though that Wolf was left as a sitting duck. Mayhem gives him a lethal clothesline for good measure. With no chance of Wolf moving he then executed LEAP OF DOOM (+5) to win in the blink of an eye. Mayhem tries to carry on the punishment after the match. Takes a hold of his chain and attempts to choke Wolf out. Suddenly a cheer as Wolf finds something within and resists. Rips the chain from his grasp. He swings it at a fleeing Mayhem. But is nowhere near fast enough due to being hurt still. Wolf pursues him down the runway nonetheless leaving everyone to wonder if he ever did catch up to Mayhem.
Chaos and Terminus wrestled a double DQ in non-title action. Fascinating meeting between two of the most arrogant individuals around. Both consider themselves as belt holding legends. This could easily of been champion against champion had Terminus’s domination of the IP belt not recently stopped. Neither of their managers has shown up at ringside so it would be a pure battle. Terminus struggles from the start. The way Chaos easily muscles out of a full nelson startled him. He’s probably never experienced power like this before in the AFW. However he adjusts his style and makes a semi decent fight of it. But when Chaos starts getting going with BOW OF DEFEAT it looks as if defeat is inevitable. Terminus clings on so Chaos brutally throws him over the rope. Rather than accept a likely count-out win he then chooses to exit the ring. Not wanting to be shown up Terminus forces himself to stand and grabs a chair. Chaos does the same and they have a stand off. Ref disqualified both and neither loses face.
Lords of Fire totally annihilated Exo-King and Jack of Diamonds. Poor Jack got a rough ride here. He was being roasted alive in the ring. Unfortunately his father wasn’t much help. Too busy trying to swat away the swooping Maleph. The evil duo worked over Jack for about ten minutes before getting bored of the torture and finishing it off. Jack was taken out by Bishop Hell’s FLYING CROSS. Once pinned the Lords of Fire look like they will be setting Jack on fire. His father, Exo-King, desperately reaches into the ring and pulls him clear. Father and son clutch each other and hobble away to the sanctuary of the dressing rooms. Sad to see but the glory days of Royal Blood are long behind this legendary duo. Jack needs to get his mind back on going solo. He has shown incredible potential to become a big player in the future of the GWF. Just shake this one off.
Cage match, the Creeper overcomes Mutant. This is the guilty pleasure of many GWF fans to see these two go at it in the ring. Of course cage matches between them tend to drag on as they both struggle with the concept. The Creeper probably just shades it in the intelligence stakes. It manages to control most of the match (if that’s what you want to call it) but although Mutant has many tokens there is no end in sight. Officials try to coax the Creeper out of the cage as everyone has seen enough. After ten long minutes and ELIMINATOR for a second time something clicks in the Creeper’s brain and it clumsily exits the door to win. Trouble is the officials now have to try and get the Mutant out. Takes some doing as it attacks anyone that comes near. Eventually someone skilfully gets a noose round it’s neck to snare Mutant and lead it off.
Max Shield and Nefarus take each other out in a double DQ. Nefarus fares the better in the match. Max gets himself outside to try and regroup but Nefarus went after him. Ram seems to hand Nefarus an object. In self defense Max holds up a chair but quickly discards it as he doesn’t want to come down to the level of the Colonizers. Trouble is Ram snitches on him. The young and inexperienced ref buys it and calls the DQ. But then changes his decision to a double DQ when Ram clumsily drops the object (a small rock) he had given Nefarus earlier. Ram fouls up again. That’ll be more punishment coming his way at the hands of Painmaster.
Amazonia sends Cassandra spiralling to a DQ loss. Incredible aggression from Amazonia. Cassandra can’t handle her at all. All she can do is get out the ring to break the momentum. When Amazonia makes it difficult to re-enter Cassandra loses it big time. In her tantrum she picks up chairs and even throws one into crowd. Amazonia just stands watching with arms folded. After Cassandra fails to calm down even after being given plenty of time to cool off the ref signals for the bell. That just makes Cassandra even angrier and she gets the poor guy by the throat. Amazonia to the rescue. Pulls Cassandra off and sends her away with the shield being used as a very persuasive tool.
X-Termination handle Dreggs and Eagle. Square pegs in round holes as Dreggs and Eagle team together again. Destructon 3000 still having difficulty at this point getting Mace to partner Dreggs. It’s another gutsy effort from Eagle but he falls to HEADBANGER’S BALL. Things don’t go well for X-Termination later in the night as they spend a night in the slammer (read above).
Colussus takes down Zouave by DQ. Not much of a contest. Colussus wins easily enough but he’s deprived of a pin fall victory after Darkos interferes following CYBORG DEATHBLOW.
This one didn’t sell too well. Match choices not the wisest as too many DQ outcomes were showcased.

GWF REPORT (SUDDEN DEATH 2103 CARDS 801 – 804)
Champions * GWF Galaxian Champ: Chaos (Top Contender: Raven) * GWF Tag Champs: Titan Fury (Top Contenders: Superiority Complex) * GWF Interplanetary Champ: Buck Steele (Top Contender: Ram) * GWF Ladies Champ: Supernova (Top Contender: Thrash) Latest News: Talking point of the month is Genocide going down to Ram. Whilst the boxing qualities of Buck Steele are a match made in heaven when it comes to Brass Knuckles matches it seems the opposite when it’s Genocide wearing them. Mandrill has seen both Painmaster and now his slave, Ram, beat Genocide. Clearly he now knows the weakness and will be looking to schedule more of these. Maybe even don the brass knuckles himself. Of course the likes of Max and Vertigo are not stupid and will be looking to dissuade Buck from signing these match ups. Buck isn’t keen on backing away from these matches though. It goes against his natural instincts as a boxer.
Mesmer seems to be getting Champions of the Galaxy to sign matches with odds stacked against them. How is he doing it? It has been assumed his magical powers and hypnotic capabilities are the reason. Although some websites are now running a story that somebody back office, within the GWF admin, could be tampering with the match contracts. Commando Sam distances himself from the controversy by saying it just sounds like Omega is making excuses for his teams poor performance. Luckily Sam was forced to choke on those words as Omega’s team rose to the occasion and won a crucial 6 man tag battle over Chaos and Superiority Complex. Star Warrior totally inspired as he carried them to an amazing win. US. Patriot has been hot. Successfully taking out the trash in the GWF with both Drac and Mayhem falling before his feet. He is now planning to use his free role on the Champions team to battle alien invaders. Omega doesn’t have any immediate plans to use him so gives Adam his blessing to commence this latest crusade. Adam knows many fans love retro action and he is set to reignite temporary feuds with Dreadnaught and Soldier of Fortune. Matches to be signed imminently. Adam calls his popular mission ‘STARS AND STRIKES FOREVER’. In a twist Soldier of Fortune and Dreadnaught could even team up many years after their legendary feud. Remembering when Tongsoon lost their battle and went through the Transevolver to become the humanoid Soldier of Fortune. Just thought this would be a cool swerve for the next month or two. I reason that the guys involved might be keen to take each other on and get away from the pressure of SUDDEN DEATH for a short while. Maybe the cat is out the bag with regards the intentions of the CPC. Magnus Colby and Sonora Pelf have upset the GWF by bringing a CPC belt out on the previous show. Could this part of some greater plan by Colby or has he just stolen a gimmicky idea for entertainment? It is a bit of a re-hash from the days when Mandrill was going around with his own title which he called the Colonizer belt a couple of years ago. The Matador is currently wearing it and proclaiming to be the first CPC champion. The GWF immediately refused to recognise it and blurred it as the transmission went out. Commissioner Grogan is put under pressure to take action. Deep down he thinks it could be a good storyline but has to publicly condemn it. The planned quarterly CPC ALL STARS show also gets canned. Grogan says “Colby and Pelf are going too far. They are not taking over the GWF”. Colby dispels the myth “Grogan doesn’t know what he is talking about. We are just trying to jazz things up. We want the GWF to succeed every bit as much as he does”. Although he had no advance warning Pegasus was the first man to take up the challenge and he very nearly beat the Matador in a classic match. He was offered an immediate rematch by the CPC. The GWF (and Omega) is warning him against getting involved but Pegasus was quite taken in by its beauty and wants to win it so he can start wearing it to his matches. Despite the threat of action Pegasus says “where I come from if you beat a man holding a belt of any kind then it’s yours and you’re the champ. I intend to win it and add it to my list of honours”. Colby again brags that the CPC brand continues to grow. Just what does that mean when he keeps saying that? There is a lot of scepticism about what he might be cooking up in the long term.
Everyone wondering what’s up with Wolf. He is on a losing streak even in his favoured hardcore matches. A loss in two moves at a dark show to Mayhem might just be the lowest point of his career. The rumour is he has been plagued by injuries arising from training bouts with Genocide and he was also unfairly attacked by Justice before the cage match with Heracles. But Wolf makes no excuses. His way of dealing with it will be just to sign even more hardcore matches.
Thrash punished for breaking GWF rules by trying to interfere in a Titan Death match. It’s a double whammy as her intervention failed to save the Gladiators from losing. She is banned from appearing at ringside with the Gladiators for one month. Although she will be allowed to continue wrestling.
Popular website ‘wrestlingdreams.com’ getting a lot of attention. It’s purpose is to try and spread rumours about future happenings. Many gullible fans are believing them and reacting to them. Some are pretty far fetched. Here’s a few of them ... GWF wants to put Chaos and Genocide back in the ring together. Both Chaos and Buck Steele had been on incredible runs but have recently stumbled. But it’s still a promoters dream. Title for title match being considered ... Star Warrior and Lord Nexus to be the next guys to be seduced by Mesmer. They will become a new tag team managed by Commando Sam. With names being speculated as either the Infantry or the Old Guard. That’s one of the more outrageous suggestions but unfortunately it led to Lord Nexus getting heckled by a minority of fans during the month... One that might be a little more realistic suggests Mace is just about ready to turn on Dreggs and the rest of the WAR team. He’s just waiting for the right time or place to do it ... Thunder being blamed for the current failings of the Gladiator team. The rumour is that he will be banished back to Aethra at the end of year to commence a lifetime of hard labour. Very few condemned to this lifestyle survive more than a few years ... The last one centres around that the CPC is on the verge of bankruptcy. Colby has made some bad decisions on the Black Hole Market and is down to his last million dollars. Colby has gambled all he has left on the next match. If he fails Sonora Pelf is ready to leave him and become Vanity’s new babe. Although some joker commented that she has got her eye on Mutant instead. She finds it cute. That one started trending pretty quick. All sorts of photo mock ups started surfacing of her on secret dates with Mutant. Pretty funny stuff but again scarcely believable. SUDDEN DEATH SHOWDOWN looms on #808. Only matches relating to the current feud battles will be booked. The CPC is furious that they are being frozen out. Colby had wanted the Matador to defend the newly created CPC Heavyweight belt at the event. In fact the only belt that’ll be on the line on the night is the IP belt which Buck Steele defends against Ram. The Colonizers will be doing all that they can to get it off him. The main event is a dramatic Battlezone match pitting the Champions team against Sam’s Stormtroopers. Dark Justice and US. Patriot are the only guys not involved for the two teams. Adam’s omission is by his own choice as he doing different things at the moment but Justice is already on the periphery of the Stormtrooper team. Sam just doesn’t trust him to deliver in the really big matches. Might be an unwise decision as Justice seems much better suited to the match than Prodigy. The GWF has been very careful to keep the original signed contract under lock and key to stop any tampering. It was also hoped that Massif would be on hand to officiate in all the matches but Sam objected. Said Massif is too biased towards Hero wrestlers. INJURED – Dreadnaught (4); SUSPENDED – Krakan, Thrash (4) (from appearing at ringside only) WHOSE HOT … Matador, Ram, Heracles, Archon, Janus, US. Patriot, Vengeance, Star Warrior, Flamboyance, Mercenaries WHOSE NOT … Wolf, Holocaust, Chaos, Gila, Pollux, Brainstorm, Pillars of Power, Assassin Greatness, Thunder and Overkill SUDDEN DEATH STANDINGS … the wins are now trickling in for Flamboyance. It’s not one of the most glamorous feuds against the Pillars but it had looked very one sided til now. The Genesis team are still struggling. Everyone getting on top of each other in the team with the relationship between Wolf and Buck Steele particularly fractious. The Gladiators lose yet more ground to the Hitmen. Some of the other feuds have been pretty quiet. Especially the Titans against the Masked Assassins. Almost as if Darkos has given up already but maybe he’s got plans for 2104 as he continues on the latest reign of Assassin Greatness. No Fear now showing some fight against the Lords of Fire. Still well behind but maybe they’ve got a chance if they keep up their recent form. In the headline feud things are very tight between the Champions and the Stormtroopers. It’s the sort of battle that could go right to the wire. There’s still a long, long way to go though and plenty will happen over the next year.
Champions-Sam’s Stormtroopers 44-39 Genesis and Wolf-Colonizers of Scorpi 24-28 Gladiators-Hitmen 7-21 No Fear-Lords of Fire 5-14 WAR-Rocketmen 18-23 Fighting Titans-Masked Assassins 32-3 Savage Kingdom-Murderer’s Row 23-7 Flamboyance-Pillars of Power 8-11 Jack of Diamonds-Mad Jester 7-8
WRESTLER OF THE MONTH: Star Warrior - not a big pool of wrestlers to pick from as very few stood out from the rest. In the end the legendary Star Warrior got the most votes after he carried the Champions team to an incredible 6 man tag victory virtually single handed. He just rolled up his sleeves and got on with it. Prodigy never knew what hit him. Edged out Ram who gets a special mention for upsetting Genocide. TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH: Mercenaries - close run thing with Flamboyance of all teams. But two victories over the Gladiators cannot be argued with. If it wasn’t for the fact Superiority Complex beat Titan Fury they’d unquestionably be the top contenders to the tag belts. For now they must wait quietly and try to keep on winning. The big matches come thick and fast and they’ll be busy again next month.

DARK MATCHES #1 – Denebola Spiral Arm Stadium: Matador of M83 beats Chaos in a non-title match. Chaos wonders where the Matador’s CPC belt is and gets antagonised by Reynard B. Guile as they all stand in the ring, “you’re not ranked high enough. You think by wearing that cheap GWF belt that you are the top dog. Well you’re not”. Chaos angrily makes a grab for the snivelling manager but Reynard can move quite quickly when he needs to and skilfully evades his grasp. With Chaos having turned his back the Matador is quickly upon him. But the power of Chaos comes through and he looked set to take control. Having survived the infamous BULLWHIP during that opening salvo he was surging on adrenalin, or was it energy from the Alpha Stone? Then it all went disastrously wrong as he charged at the Matador on the outside. Like a bull being led by the red mist he careered into some rails head first with immense force and was in a bloody way. Matador quickly bundles Chaos back into the ring to take advantage of this. Chaos is then beaten, the Matador Death Run was too much even for a man of his colossal stature. Big time bragging in the aftermath by Reynard who tells Chaos the fact this was a dark match doesn’t mean that nobody is going to know about this humbling. He plans to tell the cosmos what went down tonight. Within hours the results of the show are posted on Spacebook with accompanying pictures. There’s even one of Reynard and Matador posing for the camera in the ring with thumbs up sign. In the background can just about see Chaos laying on the floor. Things are getting heated between Chaos and the CPC. Can Chaos ignore them and get his mind where Sam wants it to be, back on Omega and the Champions team.
The Watchmen luckily beats New Order by DQ. Mace reluctantly reacquaints himself with tag action. Destructon 3000 was careful to test this out on a dark show in case there was a flare up. He will of been relieved to see Mace cooperating. However Mace still needs to tone down his aggression. New Order surrenders a strong position as Mace got suckered into a conflict with Ram on the outside. He costs them the match after attacking him needlessly. No words exchanged by Dreggs and Mace after hearing the announcement. Dreggs probably wanting to say something about it but knows Mace is a bit of a ticking time bomb.
Mayhem against Max Shield ends in a wild double DQ. Mayhem still quiet by his standards but he’s been racking up the wins lately. Pretty dominant here too but then just chucks Max outside for no apparent reason other than to trigger a brawl. Max gives as good as he gets. They both then get into hot water with the ref for introducing weapons and inevitably the bells goes off. Neither lets this bother them and take it up the runway until security manages to restore some order. Nice to see Max showing a mean streak.
Lords of Fire beat Sick Things by DQ. Carnage. Cannibal and Maleph going at each other outside. Dastardly acts inside the ring. Actual wrestling, forget it. No surprise given how twisted both teams are. The poor ref got attacked by Death’s Head too. Whilst he was down Death’s Head savaged Bishop Hell with FUNERAL MARCH a few times. But when the ref recovers he remembers all too well what happened and calls the DQ.
Cycle Hog flattened Terak. A foray back into the ring for Terak against the gluttonous Hog. Mollock is there to watch over his master. Hog comes out carrying boxes of pizzas and offers some to Mollock to keep him pre-occupied. But it’s just not in Hog’s nature to share and he soon has second thoughts. As he tries to wrest a pepperoni supreme back Mollock reacts. Showing it’s incredible strength to pick Hog and slam him down. Most of the pizzas go splat onto the floor. The outside of the ring is a mess. Somehow a match eventually occurs. I nearly had to draw a line under and call time limit as it was going nowhere. Amazingly with the last move of the match Hog finally connects with HEAVY LOAD to take it. Guess he will celebrate later with a takeaway or three.
Amazonia takes down Maxine Babe. Amazonia slowly climbing her way back up the ladies rankings. Maxine Babe had tried to unsettle Amazonia with threats of dishing the dirt on her private life. Amazonia didn’t bat an eyelid and methodically beats Maxine to the point where she could finish with AMAZON ATTACK.
DARK MATCHES #2 – Cor Coroli Dimaond Dome: Chaos crushed Janus in a non-title match. After the embarrassment of losing to the Matador in his last match and having it splashed all over social media Chaos was desperately wanting to avoid defeat. A second consecutive loss to a CPC wrestler even if it is just a non-title match might be too much for even Chaos to take and also give Colby and Pelf lots of traction. Behind the scenes Commando Sam is despairing that Chaos is still giving the CPC matches. His only concern is for beating Omega. Nobody is saying anything but for the first time there is unease. Sam still accompanies Chaos as he wants to protect the star of his team. Reynard B. Guile keeps a safe distance from Sam at all times. Chaos doesn’t make the same mistakes this time around and finishes Janus off in a few minutes after relentless applications of BOW OF DEFEAT. But the thing Sam may of been fearing happens. Chaos falls into a trap as it seems the CPC may of struck a deal with the Hitmen. Splatter has been itching to conduct another lottery attack and Chaos has been a popular target of his in the past. As he steams into the ring Commando Sam throws himself in the way and takes the blow from Splatter. Chaos cannot believe it but now has time to react and manages to ward Splatter off. With a sudden renewed respect for his manager Chaos picks up the bleeding Sam and carries him away over his shoulder.
The Mercenaries gun down Coat of Arms. Star Warrior hopes the team can build on the positivity of last month. There have been too many false dawns. Certainly a chance of a big scalp and with Soldier of Fortune looking distracted after learning he is part of US. Patriot’s crusade maybe they can catch the Mercenaries on an off night. Unfortunately hopes of that happening are soon dashed. The Mercenaries are firing on all cylinders. Poor Star Warrior gets the worst of it and suffers wave after wave of attacks. He must of been on the end of every conceivable move with POLICE BRUTALITY being the final nail in the coffin.
US. Patriot blows Dreadnaught away. First leg of Adam’s STARS AND STRIKES FOREVER crusade. Renewing a long on and off rivalry with Dreadnaught. Under normal circumstances Dreadanught would be up against it. The fact he was battle scarred from his clash with Splatter last month made it tougher than ever. Dreadnaught tried to make light of his ailments and hit a couple of early power moves but that’s as good as it got. Adam soon able to counter by virtue of his speed. Didn’t waste too much time before striking with FREEDOM FLYER. The crusade is off to a flying start. Max Shield strolls to a win over Tocsin. Tocsin not given the luxury of Ram being at ringside in a slave capacity to him. Guess it shows he is pretty far down the Colonizer pecking order. Not given much chance against Max here despite the overbearing stink he is emanating. Max dutifully closes out a dominating win after hitting MAXIMUM IMPACT several times during the course of the match. Sick Things against Genesis Prime ended double DQ. Pretty predictable outcome. Drac looking to create anarchy whenever he was in the ring. Wraith tries to fight fire with fire and it gets out of control.
Kati looking good as he defeats Killer Queen. Very one-sided match. Queenie kicked out after SAMOAN REVENGE but didn’t last much longer beyond that.

Card 805 – Titan Sportatorium: (Another DQ blighted card. Hard on the passionate Titans fans who also had to stomach the disappointment of seeing their beloved Titan Fury lose the tag belts)
Superiority Complex overcome Titan Fury to become new tag champs (4th title). Commando Sam AWOL. Rumours about why he is missing. News of what happened at a dark show to Sam has not reached much of the cosmos yet. Some wild speculation saying that he has had arguments with Mesmer and been either severely injured or even killed during a showdown with the evil Sorcerer. Superiority Complex giving no answers. The murmuring eventually dies down as there’s a match to be had. The Titans are currently riding an incredible wave of popularity and here in their home venue they are idolised. Proudly entering the ring and displaying the belts. But Superiority Complex gives them no time to pose. Attacking them both from behind. The belts fall to the floor and Skinhead kicks them disrespectfully out of the ring. Lord Nexus looks mortified and retrieves them before placing them on the ring announcer’s table. In his mind if a team is prepared to do that they don’t deserve to hold them. Unfortunately over the years the Titan Sportatorium has been far from a fortress for the Titan team and again it proves to be tonight. Lord Nexus witnesses a laboured effort from his team. Superiority Complex do not put a foot wrong. Seems that Rising Sun will be the one who gets pinned as he clocks up the tokens but in the end it’s Dragonmaster who falls. He is having a scrap with Prodigy and gets caught with a Superior Slingshot. The Titan crowd looks stunned as the ref makes the three count. Prodigy jumps up and arrogantly demands the ref go fetch their belts immediately. Despite the bitter disappointment of the loss the Titans still wave to the fans as they depart. They will be back for sure. CPC Heavyweight champ, the Matador, loses to Pegasus by DQ. Against the wishes of the GWF Pegasus agrees to face the Matador for the CPC belt again. The Matador emerges in a grand procession. Reynard B. Guile walks ahead of him holding up the blurred CPC belt. Behind them both Sonora Pelf and Magnus Colby are carried on thrones down part of the runway and then stationed in a prime viewing position. When the ref confronts them on this Colby arrogantly says “read your rules. We have not encroached close enough to the ring to be classified as being at ringside. Now please back off so we can watch the galaxy’s finest talents contest for our esteemed belt”. The poor guy looks out of his depth and relents. Pegasus starts to antagonise Sonora Pelf who demands not to be touched and calls him a disgusting peon. Gets his focus back on the task at hand but it becomes a very close match. Both cancelling each other out until the dramatic twist comes. The Matador runs into the ref knocking him out. Accidentally on purpose perhaps. Match continues on for a good while (15 moves) but when the groggy ref comes around is in no mood to let that pass and calls the DQ. Pegasus tries to take possession of the CPC belt arguing that the rule no belt can change hands on anything other than a pin or submission doesn’t apply here. He doesn’t get very far as the CPC wants to protect its asset. Colby instructs the Matador to go after Pegasus with a weapon. Splatter had left a metal bar behind during the last match. The Matador spots this and picks it up to knock Pegasus down with. He then retrieved the CPC belt and left with his entourage. Splatter cruelly deals with Wildcat. Sick promises made by Splatter in the build up. Announces that Cannibal has contacted him asking to be brought back strips of Wildcat’s flesh. He is more than happy to oblige after he has smashed the head of ‘Wildkitten’ with Arsenal. He also brings a sackful of weapons with him should his tried and trusted one fail him. Maybe the sight of that bag gets to Wildcat as he wilts easily with barely a minute gone. Splatter using THE SHREDDER to tame him. Perhaps frustrated at how easy it has been Splatter empties his weapons and seeks to go to work with them and fulfil Cannibal’s wishes. Mollock isn’t having any of it and surges into the ring but cops a series of fatal blows. Even something as huge and powerful as Mollock cannot withstand that and it soon goes down. The beating could of been very bad but a recovering Wildcat flies off the top of one of the turnbuckles and takes Splatter down before it gets too grizzly. Splatter gathers as many of his tools together as he can before departing. He seems satisfied that enough blood was spilt. Post beating Splatter says now he has got that out of his system he is ready to kick his feud with Vengeance back off. Assassin Greatness manhandle the Upstart Punks on route to a DQ win. Not quite the leap up the wrestling ladder the Punks envisaged since striking a deal with the CPC. They’ve barely seen any action since being hired and then used to beat up Omega. Still have deluded egos though and brag that they will win big here and prove their own greatness. Darkos laughs at such talk and says “the Collector was right. They really are a couple of Upstart Punks. They’ll be no match for Assassin Greatness”. And so it proved as Manslaughter gave Taurine a real going over. He should of finished him off cleanly with SNAP, CRACK, POP but Romulus wouldn’t give him the satisfaction by interfering and causing the DQ. He soon paid for his intrusion by being powerfully press slammed outside of the ring. No sooner does he pick himself up then Enigma levels him with FEET OF FURY to double his pain. Soldier of Fortune beat Dreadnaught by DQ. Lots of pre-match jockeying between these two old rivals. Dreadnaught aiming to defy his latest injuries and nuke his old partner. Of course Soldier of Fortune brags that he has taken so many hits from GUIDED MISSILE over the years he can now easily handle the move. Dreadnaught didn’t need much firing up but comments like this certainly stoked the burning rage within. He is ultra aggressive but in ramping it up perhaps too much to make up for deficiencies falls foul of the ref. Soldier of Fortune bites back and their brawl almost spills into the crowd before some kind of order is restored. Having torn lumps out of each other they will now remarkably come together as a team to battle US. Patriot (and mystery partner) later in the month.
Scourge takes victory over Blizzard by DQ. Scourge suffers ice damage against a wild Blizzard. The DQ win is scant consolation for the huge bump on his head and possible concussion suffered.

Card 806 - Titan Sportatorium:
(Destructon 3000 goes missing during the show. He is found long after the show is over by a robotic cleaning crew. Tied up in the boiler room with chains and with duct tape over his mouth. Once freed he doesn’t know who hit him as was unable to get a clear look but there were several of them. Or else they would never of been able to overpower him. Primary suspects are of course the Rocket Men) Janus and Matador of M83 upsets Thunder and Overkill. Interesting note is that during the build up the Matador takes exception to this being labelled as a contender match for the tag straps. As the CPC champion and holder of many GWF singles titles and accolades he finds it distasteful to be linked with the tag titles. His partner, Janus, stays pretty quiet on the subject but is probably thinking the same thing. The Gladiators aren’t too happy either as they dislike being used as pawns to make the CPC guys look good. They vow to tear them apart and then go and do the same to the Mercenaries at SUDDEN DEATH SHOWDOWN. No managers or bodyguards tonight. Thrash is banned from ringside for the next few cards and Reynard B. Guile didn’t fancy getting caught in the crossfire of all this. For the first half of the match it looks like the CPC duo is just going to be fodder for the Gladiators. The Matador is under a bombardment of punishment. He survives both DECAPITATOR and also THUNDERCLAP through a combination of Janus’s help and his own remarkable conditioning. He then manages to counter and mount a strong comeback. Despite almost blowing the chance to get the hot tag he eventually brings Janus into the action. Janus has been in a rich vein of form and continues that streak here. Has success dealing with Thunder and thanks to a snake eyes roll gets the surprise pin after a Champion Super Drop. Like it or not Janus and the Matador can probably request a shot at the tag belts now. Will they try and cash in on it? 6 Man Elimination match, Fighting Titans crush the Masked Assassins. The Assassins have fared disastrously against the Titans in 2103. But Darkos would love nothing more than to get one over them on Titan itself. Of course having already seen Titan Fury drop the tag belts that would be very disappointing for the fans if that also happens. Despite this the home crowd is very respectful as always. Even enemies of their beloved Titans don’t get heckled (for the most part). All they do is cheer for the Titans passionately whenever they wrestle. Both managers decide to keep themselves out of the spotlight by choosing not to wrestle. Eliminations went down as follows ... Ursa Major takes out Manslaughter. Early elimination for Manslaughter after getting caught in SHOTGUN CRADLE; Titan Fury combine to beat Enigma after DAY OF THE DRAGON. With just Zouave left things look hopeless for the Assassins; Rising Sun polished off Zouave for a sweep. Darkos worked miracles to give Zouave a chance. Some fiendish interfering after SUNSET SPECTACULAR gave Zouave a chance to hit CONQUEROR VICTORY RUN. But he missed by a country mile. Any hope he had was now extinguished. Titan Fury regain the advantage and after a few minutes Rising Sun puts an end to the misery via a gut wrench windmill. Crowd goes nuts. Just the lift needed after the last show. Jack of Diamonds overcomes the theatrics of Mad Jester. The feud has been bubbling away. It has been extremely even up until now. Typically Jester just can’t do things normally. Has to do something zany and give it an edge. Tonight he dons a regal robe and sticks on a beard in a send up of Exo-King. The funny side doesn’t get seen and Exo-King goes for Jester to teach him a lesson. He doesn’t reckon on Jester also carrying a sceptre underneath the robes and gets laid out with it. Jack is deeply concerned for his father but before he can tend to him is grabbed from behind by Jester. Poor Jack is dragged to the ring whilst plagued with concern. Medical staff quickly tend to Exo-King and escort him away from the ring area. Jack is on his own which may of been Jester’s plan. How would Jack react? He could end up being lethargic and distracted or use what happened to become ultra aggressive. Thankfully it’s the latter. Jack weathers the initial flurry of Jester. Then piles on the pressure with a relentless series of level 3 moves. A brilliantly timed running elbow to the head sends Jester sprawling. After Jack hurriedly leaves to see how his father is Jester picks himself and forcefully grabs hold of the mic. Through his cackling he makes a challenge for Exo-King to cut short retirement plans and face him one-on-one. Knocking him out earlier reminded Jester how good it felt to hurt and punish the King for holding back his true personality all those years. Max Shield takes a win over Ram via DQ. With Ram poised to challenge for the IP belt against Buck Steele soon this becomes an important match in the build up to this. Mandrill wants Max Shield humbled every bit as much as he wants Buck taken down. Also Ram will be mindful of orders to put as much damage on Max as possible. Nefarus is to face Max Shield at SUDDEN DEATH SHOWDOWN and wants an advantage. Maybe Mandrill should be at ringside to help with such a plan but he considers that slave work. Ram certainly carries out the plan battering Max from the opening bell and hitting RAM CHARGE in no time at all. Max just about kicks out. Smelling blood Ram goes for his finisher again. This time he makes a right pig’s ear of the attempt and misses. Ram flies outside. Gets up embarrassed and drags Max out by the legs whereupon he tries to smash into a ring post. The act causes the ref to disqualify him. Not quite what Mandrill and Nefarus had in mind. Ram has lost the match and barely put a mark on Max. Soldier of Fortune ends the hot streak of US. Patriot. Adam playing on the retro theme by calling his opponent Tongsoon in the pre match promos. When Qualitar asks for Soldier of Fortune’s feelings about being called this he gets picked up in a two handed choke. Qualitar just about gets out the words “don’t shoot the messenger. It’s not me calling you this” before he is dropped in a heap. Sets the scene for a heated match. Adam’s recent form means his confidence is sky high. It shows in the way he begins but Soldier of Fortune rides it out. Then hits THE REVENGER (takes three of them) to make Adam pay for all the Tongsoon references. Things still hot after this and there is a classic tag match to come where the Alien Corps reform for one night only to take on Adam and a mystery partner.
Eagle narrowly beats Brainstorm by DQ. No ringside assistance for Eagle. Maybe Destructon 3000 is trying to cut the chord? It’s good for Brainstorm as it means Darla can help him pull off his cunning tricks. Although the absence of a manager appears to knock Eagle for six he gets on with it and does some daredevil stuff but lacks the technique to stop from hurting himself. Means that Brainstorm is soon in control. Looks over after HITTING THE BOOKS is used but Eagle just about gets a foot on the ropes. The no selling of the move angers Brainstorm and he then gets himself DQ’d for trying to choke Eagle with his gown. In fact Brainstorm is so worked up he nearly strikes the ref. Takes Darla flouncing all over him to restore some calmness. After the match is over a worried Eagle asks if anyone has seen Destructon 3000. Seems as if the absence of his manager may not of been intentional.
