Part 4 – from Rigel Nova Pavillion: Prison Camp and Comrade Terror deal Greek Gods and Lance At-Las a major blow ... Terak: “I sure do miss the Greek Gods. Especially Proteus. He was so much fun as long as you stayed on the right side of him” … Qualitar: “Sadly they were before my time. Would of loved to of interviewed them and called one of their matches. This is the next best thing. Omega and Solaris always speak of them with such affection” … Terak: “So this the match that got signed because of what happened in the Lance-Comrade Terror match on part 2?” … Qualitar: “Yes. It got a nice heated build up what with that and also what happened in the Tongsoon-Proteus match” … Terak: “Where is Solaris? Did the Galactic Rebels get to him? Or maybe he had flipped out. It was just a couple of years prior that we saw his personality turn. Pretty amusing” … Qualitar: “Please. You will give people the wrong idea. He was under great stress back then. The Masked Assassins gave him no choice and he emerged with great honour by the end. So we won’t be seeing the SOLARIS FLYING ELBOW DROP on any of these episodes. But to answer your question, Solaris wasn’t at ringside. He preferred to leave his main guys to it and assist only the Norse Gods but maybe wishes he had been. Barely a minute gone and all tactics go out the window” … Terak: “This was real tough one to navigate for the Supreme Gods. They would definitely of benefitted from the calming presence of Solaris” … Qualitar: “Totally agree. It was too gung-ho from the Greek Gods. Actagon got suckered in and caught with Tongsoon’s Cygnus Slam. Proteus was too busy picking an argument with Tendron to notice his partner was in peril” … Terak: “Lance At-Las and Comrade Terror looked a little bemused. Neither got in the ring at all” … Qualitar: “You’d of thought Comrade Terror might of been happier as he was on the winning side. He didn’t like Tongsoon showing him up I think” … Terak: “Miniscule early signs of the power struggle to come in then near future” … Qualitar: “Yes I think you’re right. But for now it was a major victory for the Galactic Rebels. It may of been dark but the result is still there in the record books and it is a significant one”.
Young Allies start their feud with Eastern Dynasty strongly … Qualitar “A brave decision by Adam Blast to break up the Bomb Squad but was it the right decision?” … Terak: “The lure of working with Vlad, a renowned Olympic style wrestler from Earth, was too much to resist. In truth though they struggled over the years. Just not strong enough. Vlad didn’t have a lot of get up and go. He wanted to wrestle technical on the mat all the time and sometimes complained this wasn’t real wrestling but this ain’t kiddiecare. This is the GWF” … Qualitar: “Yes he lacked conviction and was going nowhere really for many years. Drifting. It wasn’t until his shock heel turn in 2096 that he got interesting” … Terak: “Sorry to change subject but do you think this was the start of a blossoming romance between Adam and Sweet Thing?” … Qualitar: “What makes you say that?” … Terak: “Did you not see her specifically poke her head through the curtains when Adam was being announced? She stood watching for a minute or so before appearing to be yanked back aggressively” … Qualitar: “I missed that. Will have to rewatch the tape later. Anyway onto the match. It was clear that Ghengis Khan was still very angry about the break up of the All Earth Squad. The Young Allies being the chosen targets of Eastern Dynasty to avenge the betrayal of Commander Sam” … Terak: “They were certainly fired up and aggressive. Vlad looked a bit shocked by it all but I still expected the Young Allies to handle it. I didn’t rate Eastern Dynasty as a tag team. I cannot believe they actually once defeated Brute and Massacre to hold the tag belts albeit briefly” … Qualitar: “Don’t worry it was so brief it was scratched from the records. Remember in the GWF belt holders have to make at least one successful title defence to be listed as a champion in the books. The Young Allies surprisingly are in the books. They did manage a 12 card run in 2092” … Terak: “I’d forgotten that. Maybe they weren’t as weak as I thought. Anyway I still expected them to win this handsomely” … Qualitar: “Well the Young Allies did just that. Vlad recovered from the initial aggressive attacks and helped put Khan away with SUPERPOWER SUMMIT. It proved to be a false dawn though as their form quickly nosedived in early 2091. Thankfully they did eventually improve”.
Bishop Hell burns Justice … Qualitar: “You got to hand it to Bishop Hell. He is consistent. Always one of the most hated guys and still is to this very day” … Terak: “I cannot remember if I ever wrestled him. My memory is not as sharp as it used to be. Too many hard hits over the years. But I never liked him. His fire gimmick is downright dangerous. I don’t know why the GWF didn’t chuck him out years ago” … Qualitar: “I guess it sells tickets. But I do agree. Cannot stand him either. That’s why I loved it so much in this match when Justice didn’t sell HELLFIRE. Did you see Bishop Hell look up to the heavens dismayed at how he managed to kick out from that?” … Terak: “I don’t think it ignited properly. But it was a good moment. Trouble is Bishop Hell just repeated the move and that was it” … Qualitar: “I am sure the referee saw it but didn’t seem in any hurry to DQ him” … Terak: “Bishop Hell gets away with chicanery again. But I suppose Justice has to shoulder some of the blame. He allowed Bishop Hell to get the immediate upper hand” … Qualitar: “It was a blow. Having looked pretty good on the previous episodes Justice was brought crashing back down. I think it was over in something like 3 moves. Definitely less than a minute”.
Lord Nexus upsets the Matador of M83 … Qualitar: “A big test for the Matador. Already making people take notice I am sure by this point. However he’d not really come up against any of the big guns by this point” … Terak: “Hey. He wrestled me earlier, that was a big match” … Qualitar: “Oops, sorry. Of course that was a big victory. A real feather in his cap” … Terak: “Stop sweating. I was only kidding. This was a huge examination of his abilities which I suspect once we’ve finished watching he’ll of passed with flying colours. Lord Nexus is one of the great wrestlers in GWF history. However in the past few years his focus was on being a tag specialist” … Qualitar: “Not to mention the growing roster. The field was stronger than ever now. Easy to get lost in the shuffle” … Terak: “Yep, a lot of guys plummeted further down the card. I guess Lord Nexus lost here then?” … Qualitar: “Well that’s where you’re wrong. As you’ll soon see Lord Nexus showed he still has it with a stunning win” … Terak: “Fantastic! Experience counts for a lot. Matador’s talent not enough then” … Qualitar: “Nope. Lord Nexus came out flying but missed a deathjump. Looked as if the Matador would take over but Lord Nexus later catches him cold with a reverse knife-edge” … Terak: “A lesson to all up and coming wrestlers. Lord Nexus didn’t stand there admiring the move. He was so fast with the cover and hooking the leg” … Qualitar: “Bad loser from the Matador. He shoved the ref as he raised the hand of Lord Nexus and moodily stomped off. Hope he copped a fine for that little transgression”.
Krakan predictably takes down the Creeper … Qualitar: “Some batting practice for Krakan” … Terak: “Hardly. The Creeper is tougher than people give credit. I was working hard hard to try and make it feel safe after years of abuse from Vanity” … Qualitar: “You should be knighted for all the hard work you’ve done with all the various wonderful creatures in your zoo. The Creeper is the most well known of all your creatures and has done well” … Terak: “Not every experiment has worked but I am proud of the Creeper. He showed a capacity to learn and although there is a limit to what can taken on I would say things have been successful” … Qualitar: “And I stand corrected. This was no walkover. Krakan had to work hard and needed two bites of the cherry with HITMAN’S CARD to win” … Terak: “Sometimes the Creeper’s pain responses didn’t register which is why he more or less jumped straight up but when Krakan got him again it was too much. In a delayed reaction the Creeper just laid motionless and was pinned. But he was okay and back playing with some of the other zoo inhabitants later that evening. You wouldn’t of known he’d been in a tough wrestling match a few hours earlier”.
Spike stumbles to a win over Brute by DQ … Terak: “Wow. You slipped this in. What a match. The first singles confrontation between Spike and the opposing Gladiators. So this is why you kept talking up the mystery match earlier” … Qualitar: “It almost didn’t happen. Spike wandered into the wrong dressing room hours before the match. Maybe he was on auto pilot, maybe it was intentional. Suffice to say he walked in on a meeting between Thantos and the other Gladiators” … Terak: “What happened next?” … Qualitar: “Well my sources tell me Thantos smiled and welcomed him in. The distraction allowed Massacre to lock the door behind Spike. Other wrestlers realised something was going on when they heard commotion” … Terak: “I don’t fancy Spike’s chances” … Qualitar: “Neither did anyone else. Massif of all people was summoned to break the door down which he did with ease. When he along with some of the others got in to survey the scene they saw Brute laying on top of Thantos and Massacre amid a broken table. The window at the back was open and Spike was nowhere to be seen. There was concern as to whether he’d show for the match” … Terak: “Well of course he did as can see from the tape. Marching up the runway and there’s not a mark on him” … Qualitar: “Who knows how he got out of that scrape intact” … Terak: “Thing is the earlier incident must of taken a toll. Spike seemed to struggle” … Qualitar: “Brute is hard to hurt and Spike found that out. He was even scrambling after BRUTE FORCE” … Terak: “The Guardsman probably did him a favour with that unnecessary assault outside leading to the DQ” … Qualitar: “Spike won’t of seen it that way. He gave some back though by slamming the Guardsman down. Brute tried to continue attacking him but security must of been high alert. Within seconds about 20 big guys trotted down the runway and got between them to bring things to a close”.

DARK SHOWS … at Venus Space Station Complex
(Rumour that this will be Mesmer’s last wrestling match. With things crumbling around him it is expected he will try another dimension jump soon. Commando Sam missing from ringside for all matches involving his guys. Cassandra accompanying instead … Star Warrior’s match against Powerhouse saw him role the unlucky 1 and 3 which should mean a lottery attack. I decided the Champions have enough problems without another possible injury. The fact Splatter is waiting on a suspension decision for what he did to Pegasus prevented him from attending a card unless he is on the actual wrestling line up. Kind of like a probationary period. So Star Warrior is spared the attack)
#1 … Alpha Force pinned Powerhouse. Dramatic start as Powerhouse close to winning with 1 move after a crucifix power bomb. That’s about as good as it got for Powerhouse. Alpha Force dominates from that point on. Slowly putting tokens on the big man before delivering the finish via TOMAHAWK THRUST. With emotions still running high after the previous match and Alpha Force still very sore about the constant betrayals of ex-friends things go on after the bell. It’s pretty uncharacteristic as he continues to lay the boot in. Cassandra jumps on his back but he throws her off and gets a hold of her whip. Uses it to choke Powerhouse. Star Warrior runs out to calm his brother down who suddenly snaps out of it and holds his hands up apologetically. But the damage is done and a possible suspension hangs over him if word gets back to the Commisioner’s office. Means he will be sweating on his place at TEAM SUPREME. Later reports are Powerhouse is injured 4 cards but he maybe embellishing the seriousness in order to try and get Alpha Force the maximum suspension possible … Hammer beats Star Warrior by DQ. Have STARS OF THE GALAXY to thank for a series of singles matches between Coat of Arms and the Stormtroopers kicking off. Shame the matches are kept dark. Star Warrior agrees with that sentiment “would of liked to of settled this on a bigger stage. They were also worried about another big brawl happening at such a small venue so prevented us from booking another tag match”. As for the match Star Warrior makes all the running but then fails to pin Hammer after COSMIC BIG BANG and then comes off second best after an off the ropes collision. Things slowly start turning against him. Hammer manages to bundle him outside the ring next. In trying to defend himself against Cassandra cracking her whip dangerously close Star Warrior gets disqualified. His holding a chair up seen as an act of provocation. Very, very harsh from the ref … Thunder and Overkill maul Hunter’s Moon. Bit of a mismatch. Vyper and Wildcat gave it their best shot but just found both Gladiators too powerful to cope with. Vyper started to visibly wilt which is the worst thing you can do. The Gladiators smell blood and it’s not long before Vyper falls victim to DECAPITATOR to end it. Wildcat, perhaps foolishly, dived into the ring for a pin save attempt but just bounced off Overkill. There was nothing he could do. They could of done with Mollock’s hulking presence but he was otherwise engaged with the aftermath of the previous match. A local media reporter tries to get an interview with the Gladiators afterwards but Overkill just reaches forward and crushes his mic like he was breaking an egg … The Creeper beats Cycle Hog in a surprisingly entertaining bout. Throughout Hog not in control of his bodily functions. Making poor fans in the first few rows turn green and heave. Those who could bear the smell are actually treated to a decent contest. Hog looks stronger at the start but missed HEAVY LOAD. The Creeper comes back and chips away at Hog. Finally managed to summon animalistic strength to win with ELIMINATOR. An angry Cannibal thinks about an immediate post match assault but with the menacing Mollock nearby thinks better of it. Instead he waits for a backstage moment to get the Creeper alone. Hog sits on the Creeper whilst Cannibal applies THROAT SLIT. Mollock was searching for the Creeper and cut short the attack by bursting through the door of the darkened room they were all in. As Hog and Cannibal stand and beg off Mollock charges at them with a double clothesline sending them crashing backwards into a wall. The room was a mess after all this … Genesis Prime defeated the Ninja Assassins by DQ. Fast pace to this. The Ninja Assassins get out of jail as this could easily been a pin loss. Hydrax gets an absolute going over during which Darkos got ejected from ringside. His interference after Wraith had knocked Hydrax silly with SUDDEN DEATH the given reason. Vertigo then sent him spinning with MOTION SICKNESS numerous times but for a variety of reasons Hydrax hangs on. Once the hot tag to Daeman is made he is not much use anymore. Daeman effectively wrestling a handicap match now. Under pressure Daeman bails outside and holds up his Shuriken. Wraith seems to still want to take him on even when faced with a dangerous weapon but Vertigo holds him back. Amid all this the ref had signalled the bell … Eagle upsets Tocsin. Popular win here. Eagle does great but for a long while we were all wondering what he has to do to get a break. He had 5 pin attempts including hitting DEADLY DESCENT twice and wasn’t able to put Tocsin away. Eagle had a couple of perilous moments himself and had to withstand HAZARDOUS WASTE. Just when it looks like it might not be his night Tocsin botches a deathjump. Eagle drags himself across the stunned Tocsin and gets the pin at long last.
#2 … Star Warrior returns to form against Powerhouse. Mishap from Star Warrior puts him in some early peril but he recovers from that and begins to find his rhythm. After a while it’s like the Star Warrior of old. Showing phenomenal workrate and agility to expertly deal with a guy much larger than him. So much better than in his last match. Cassandra is still making a nuisance of herself though. Ruining a pin attempt after Star Warrior decked Powerhouse with COSMIC BIG BANG. It only serves to stave off defeat for a short while. Star Warrior remains cool and professional. He uses a Cosmic Crash and this time gets an unhindered pinning opportunity which he is able to take. Powerhouse doesn’t take the defeat graciously and comes up behind Star Warrior with a bear hug as the ref is raising his hand. Star Warrior still has the last laugh. As he struggles against the hold he manages to push his legs against the top of one of the turnbuckles. The force sends Powerhouse backwards with Star Warrior on top of him. With nothing to break his fall Powerhouse hits the back of his head on the canvas hard and knocks himself out … Alpha Force gets it done against Hammer. Bit of a surprise to see Hammer really take it to Alpha Force. Rocks him countless times with missile dropkicks. Alpha Force has to dig deep but eventually comes through. A ref bump goes in his favour. Hammer went for a deathjump and caught the ref as he leapt at Alpha Force. Hammer didn’t really care and carried on assaulting Alpha Force. He used HAMMER’S LOCK but then got frustrated at no ref being there to call it. Picks the ref up by the scruff off his neck and starts slapping him around the face. Whilst he is seeing to the ref a recovered Alpha Force comes up with a small package and nearly gets the pin as the ref revives himself. Managing to now stay in control Alpha Force gears up for ALPHA STRIKE and it gets the pin. Hard on Hammer who has acquitted himself quite well in this mini match series, unlike his partner … The Creeper and Karah defeated Mutant and Cannibal by DQ. The Creeper and Karah are everyone’s favourite underdogs. Fans willing them on. Especially after learning of what went down on the last show. It wasn’t much of a match though as the Creeper and Mutant were tearing about like loonies. What little wrestling that takes place saw the Creeper fall into Cannibal’s baiting who is soon applying THROAT SLIT illegally in the ring. No attempt at any concealment, just a desire to make the Creeper suffer. The ref gives Cannibal every chance to release but his refusal means no option but to call the DQ. Once again it is up to Mollock to save the day and clear the ring. Cannibal knows he cannot stand up to Mollock but refuses to be intimidated in the same way he is by the Terrorists. Stands defiantly on the outside promising that one day Mollock’s bones will be in his cooking pot … Mesmer scrapes past Dreadnaught by DQ. Mesmer continues to keep a really low profile. Fears that Phantast is on his tail. If anything it’s a surprise to see him showing to wrestle this match but it could easily be his last. This isn’t without backstory as Dreadnaught turned his back on the Stormtroopers to join the CPC at the beginning of the year. Soon becomes very clear that Mesmer is worried about Phantast as he constantly looks around. A flicker of the arena lights makes him jump but nothing happens. Probably explains his lethargy. Dreadnaught defies his lowly stats to batter Mesmer but despite several pin attempts including one after GUIDED MISSILE he cannot get the match won. Mesmer’s time in the ascendancy is brief but some out of ring brawling on several occasions makes us think a DQ is just around the corner. Sure enough it happens with Dreadnaught the culprit. His desperation to pick up a rare win fuels the fire that leads him into delivering a chair shot. Mesmer doesn’t hang around to hear the decision of the announcer. Off in the blink of an eye … Titan Attack catch Assassin Greatness cold. The young Titan duo getting back on the saddles after their brief foray with the belts. Some people in the media called it a fluke but by showing a good response here it can silence those critics. They mean business from the moment the bell goes. Manslaughter cannot deal with their speed and quick tags. It’s the perfect way to deal with a big man. The Assassins are shocked as he easily falls to Ursa Major’s SHOTGUN CRADLE. Lord Nexus jumps into the ring jubilant and proudly massages the shoulders of his boys. The win may just of repelled the Masked Assassin fight back once and for all. Darkos looks forlorn but matters get even worse as the Terrorists suddenly charge into the ring savagely attacking the Assassins with billy clubs. Blood is spilt. Unbelievably Lord Nexus tells his Titans to help fight them off. It could of been worse if not for this but there is no gratitude from Darkos. Manslaughter suffered most from the incident and is injured (5) … Terminus way too good for Zouave. Terminus arrogantly calls this a limbering up exercise. Zouave not happy when he overhears this, “I am not a jobber and will show everyone that Terminus is arrogant and overrated”. If only words had the same effect as actions. Zouave is hopelessly outclassed and beaten with an Aran Power Drop in little more than a minute.

DARK SHOWS … at Dragon’s Lair, Draco
(As part of the build up to TEAM SUPREME (next up) various contests take place pitting alternate members from the various teams against their drawn first round opponents. Of course Draconian Sheik is on the bill too with a mouth watering meeting with Wolf scheduled. Will the Terrorists terrorize some of the wrestlers scheduled to appear at the event? They already struck last week in the Venus Space Station Complex. Manslaughter copped a 5 card injury as a result. He got off light as, if not for the Titans, could of been much worse. Commissioner Grogan controversially didn’t even suspend the Terrorists. He said “if I suspend them then I have to do the same to the Titans who were attacking too”)
#3 … Draconian Sheik carves up Zouave. With the Terrorists noted for attacking members of the Masked Assassins, mainly on dark shows with Manslaughter as the latest victim, Darkos has put Zouave up as resistance. That might be as much use as a chocolate fireguard. Zouave’s task made even more perilous by the fact that Darkos is too fearful to even accompany him to ringside. Zouave totally on his own with the 3 most violent and crazed individuals currently in the fed. As he entered the ring and saw the Terrorists standing there with weapons visible his knees were visibly knocking. A true case of someone being beaten before they’d even begun. Drac rips into him and during about 3 or 4 long minutes poor Zouave is tortured sadistically with a sharp object several times, set upon by the Terrorists after being tossed outside and then made to suffer in DRACONIAN BACKBREAKER. Even though he has his mask on blood can be seen dripping underneath it and down his chest. He cannot of been a pretty sight. At least he lives to tell the tale … Raven outwits Brainstorm. Not too much trouble for Raven although HITTING THE BOOKS did cause slight consternation. But once in the rhythm Raven deals his full repertoire and eventually wins it after BLADERUNNER. Brainstorm claims Raven only won because he was saving himself for matches that matter like TEAM SUPREME which is smart thinking. Raven smiles when he learns of that comment “if he is so smart then will realise the fatal flaw in that approach because he has just surrendered vital points in SUDDEN DEATH. That will not making him very popular in his team” … Mayhem overcomes Vengeance by DQ. Underlying problems might explain the performances of Mayhem. At least he gets a win here worth a solitary point. In truth Vengeance had no interest in the result or trying to wrestle just wanted to gouge Mayhem’s eyes out. The ref knew his game and that was why the DQ got called very quickly. Mayhem didn’t even get a chance to react as security were like greased lightening in flooding the ring. Vengeance laughs as he wonders what Mayhem’s next step will be “if he was prepared to link up with a lowlife like Krakan this year he will probably show up anywhere. It wouldn’t surprise me if he ended up committing the ultimate sin by joining our mortal enemies WAR” … Malice untroubled by Splatter. Classic stuff as the announcer mispronounced Malice as Alice. Slip of the tongue or not he finds both of Malice’s hands round his throat. The petrified chap finds an unlikely saviour in Splatter who smashes Malice from behind allowing him to scuttle away with nothing more than a slightly red neck. Match now on but Splatter soon crumbles under the immense power of Malice who is supremely confident. Smashes Splatter with an Atomic Spike and then for the first time goes for the less risky version of FIELDS OF MALICE (+2). It is still more than potent enough to seal victory … X-Termination too slick for Titan Fury. No doubt these are two of most talented tag teams around. They have tasted belt glory plenty of times between them. The other similarity shared is both are slightly in the wilderness at the moment. So winning this important to jumpstart their ranking. Johnny Rocket changes his in your face management style and lays off the mic and let’s his team get on with it. The contests goes back and forth before Dragonmaster gets caught with HEADBANGER’S BALL and pinned. It’s the only time Johnny pipes up as he shouts at Sleeze to cut the pin save off which he expertly does. Lord Nexus throws his towel to the floor in a rare show of frustration. He knew this was a missed opportunity to get his boys in the title picture again. Contrasting emotions on the other side as X-Termination have responded to their damaging loss on #857 to New Order with three wins on the spin … Supernova comes through against Cassandra in non-title action. Always good to have Supernova open the show. Her acrobatic style can get most crowds going. She is at it here again but has to be on her toes. Cassandra giving a pretty good run for her money. Supernova gets it done though with an eye pleasing tilt-a-whirl slam.
#4 … Draconian Sheik savages Wolf. A real toughie for Wolf taking on Drac with the Terrorists lurking. But he cannot resist any hardcore challenge. Runs to the ring at a hundred miles an hour and surprises both Terrorists by smashing their heads together. Will that come back to bite him? He then carries on to Drac who is inside the ring busily staring up at the lights. The element of surprise doesn’t last long as Drac livens up to what must be done. Managing to use his sharp object weapon to deal Wolf a ferocious blow that forces him away and also punctured the skin. Drac then looks over the rope confused as to why the Terrorists are floored. Meanwhile blood trickles down Wolf’s body but he shows good powers of recovery to immediately battle back from that assault. With no time to assess his wound he leaps back at Drac whose headdress is already stained with Wolf’s blood. It’s about now that the Terrorists are back on their feet and the reprisals for what Wolf did are felt. They drag Wolf outside the ring by his legs and attack him. The ref has an ‘anything goes when it’s outside of the ring’ attitude. Even Wolf cannot cope with this as he is clubbed and whipped. By the time he is thrown back to Drac he is weak through blood loss. He still incredibly withstands a stint in DRACONIAN BACKBREAKER. The Terrorists know they’ve got a weak ref in the ring and communicate with Drac to throw Wolf back to them. This time a chemical powder is thrown stinging Wolf’s eyes. He is nearly counted out but feels his way back in. Only to walk straight back into harm as Drac punishes his back with his sadistic finisher again. Wolf will never say ‘I QUIT’ but the physical stress he has been put under causes him to pass out during the hold. Drac keeps the backbreaker locked in after the bell allowing the Terrorists to beat Wolf some more. With clubs around the head this time. Anyone normal would of been injured and hospitalised from all this. However as they try to load Wolf onto a stretcher he forces himself to stand and throws it wildly across the ring. Pauses a moment to get himself steady and then pushes past medics to take off down the runway. Presumably to hunt down Drac and the Terrorists backstage. Nobody knows if he ever did catch up to them … Dark Justice defeats Buck Steele/Genocide by DQ in a non-title match. Justice was reluctant to take this match and it showed. Approaching with caution. Takes him a good while to actually get involved in a grapple but when he does soon realises he has the measure of Buck. Starts to completely out wrestle Buck and has a few pin attempts. Trouble is they aren’t putting Buck away. He needed to go big with SHOCK PROBATION early. Instead a Stormtrooper Slam triggers the transformation. The match completely changes as Genocide annihilates Justice. But the big weakness is he is too out of control and prone to out of ring brawls. Using a monster choke Genocide drops Justice over the top rope onto the hard floor below. Then leaps over crashing down onto him. Poor Justice doesn’t know where he is as Genocide picks him up by the hair and drives his head several times into the announcer’s table. He even gets planted into the bell causing it to sound. The ref decides that can signify the DQ. Nobody is brave enough to stop Genocide so have to wait til he gets bored or reverts back. The former happens as Genocide tosses Justice away and hurtles back up the runway screaming Mandrill’s name (possibly still in attendance having wrestled earlier) followed by his catchphrase “I’m hyper, man”. Justice has to spend the night in hospital under observation with concussion. Buck doesn’t care that Justice complains about the danger Genocide poses to other wrestlers and should be shot with a tranquilliser when he appears “Believe me I meant no bodily harm but I take no responsibility for the actions of Genocide. He shouldn’t sign the match if he is doesn’t like that. It’s only because the match didn’t go his way that he is complaining” … Mandrill beats Colussus by DQ. The angry side of Colussus’s brain comes out here. After using Mandrill’s own Colonizer Claw Grip against him Colussus gets irate. Mandrill had slipped under the ropes to break the momentum. Colussus follows but Ram gets in the way and tossed into the railings. Without thinking Colussus picks up a chair drawing the decision. Before he can bring it down on Mandrill he gets ambushed by the Watchmen. They are trying to rough him up ahead of TEAM SUPREME. Ruthless stuff from the Colonizers as they leave Colussus in a heap before leaving … Thrash and Amazonia unable to be separated as time limit is reached. Renewing acquaintances. Thrash is not very photogenic as she snarls into the camera of a ringside and gives them an expletive to remember her by during her entrance. Intense match as always. Interesting from Amazonia as she spurns several chances to bail out under pressure in the match. Choosing to stay and fight. Risky as it leads to FEMME FATAL twice but she kicks out each time. The tactic nearly paid off as she launches a strong comeback offence and was within a whisker of winning with AMAZON ATTACK. A great contest draws to an end when the bell goes. Bit of confusion until the announcement of a draw is made. Thrash isn’t happy with that and decides to continue brawling. The battle going up the runway and into the black abyss behind the curtain. Several security guys race up the runway from the opposite side of the venue trying to catch up to them … Superiority Complex easily beat New Order. Mace looks absolutely cream crackered. He fell into a trap laid by Commando Sam who offered to help him do some special training and work against his old team. The reality is Sam worked him so hard the day before this match that he is now seizing up and struggling to move with any fluidity. It was just another example of Sam’s erratic behaviour. Nobody is quite sure of what he is doing. As a result Mace started with 2 fatigue tokens. It’s not long before he breaks down and Dreggs has to do most of the donkey work. Poor Dreggs cops it good and proper. He is on the end of THE PERFECT TAG FINISHER where Mace mustered just enough for a pin save. After that it’s just a case of hanging on and hoping for a miracle. It doesn’t come. Skinhead pinned him after nailing BAD ATTITUDE for the umpteenth time. Interesting quote from Skinhead on a website after it suggested they have a lot to thank Sam for the result. His prickly response is “Don’t care. The guy is still a d*ck” … Talisman and Nefarus suffer a double DQ outcome. Nefarus suffers many close calls as Talisman goes for AMULET DROP numerous times. Takes a while but Nefarus starts to get it together and strings a run of level 3 moves together. Then comes to an abrupt end as Nefarus collides with the ref accidentally on purpose. It’s only a glancing blow luckily. Nefarus tries to pull the wool over the ref’s eyes by laying the blame on Talisman. The official isn’t having any of it and decides to disqualify both of them for hitting them. Crowd didn’t like that call and heckle the ref when it is announced.

Card 861 – TEAM SUPREME – Dragon’s Lair, Draco: (Could the Rocket Men repeat their shock triumph from last year? Johnny responds to claims there’s more chance of a Black Hole swallowing up the cosmos by bragging “the Rocket Men will show they are the top team in the GWF again. I’m surrounded by idiots who cannot see our greatness”. Of course the Hero teams will be looking to make a much bigger impact this time around. There were plenty of neat little touches introduced for the event. Draco is infamous for its Cloneworld where Draconian Sheik hails from. Within the crowd many people had been planted who looked dead ringers for many wrestlers past and present. Even Big Superstar, remember him, is in attendance. Looking pretty old now but still surrounded by an entourage and demanding the Superstar treatment … Late drama. Commissioner Grogan receives footage plus a referee’s report from one of the build up dark shows. He decides to act on Alpha Force’s transgression and issues a harsh 5 card suspension. Omega decides to appeal. If he hadn’t of done so Alpha Force would of been out of the event and the Champions line up in jeopardy … The whole event encompasses a massive 22 matches which takes place over a whole weekend. All the first round matches on the Saturday whilst the big bonus match and last two rounds happening on Sunday. A reminder of how things are scored. Basically judges award points for each match up to a maximum of 4. So a squash would be scored 4-0. A DQ win normally yields 1-0 and everything else is scored somewhere in between. If a team captain scores any points they then also get awarded 1 bonus point to their contribution. The biggest margin of victory that can be achieved is 13-0 but that has never happened before)
OFFICIAL LINE UPS (captains in bold):

Bonus match … Santa Wolf and No Fear defeated Ram and Lords of Fire in a dramatic cage elimination match. It is December and Wolf is ready to sprinkle festive cheer onto TEAM SUPREME by donning his Santa outfit. The kids in the crowd go mad for it. Santa Wolf and No Fear get pulled down the runway on a sleigh. Wolf holds aloft a sack packed with toys. In a despicable act Maleph swoops from the rafters and manages to get hold of the sack carrying the goodies Wolf was preparing to throw into the crowd. It’s so heavy Maleph could barely take off with it. It is dropped in the runway where the Lords of Fire immediately set it ablaze. Wolf snarls with anger and charges at the Lords of Fire applying a double handed claw. Ram and No Fear soon pile in and it’s bedlam outside with nobody even near the cage yet. Officials are trying to entice them to start the match but nobody is really brave enough to step in. Suddenly a huge hooded figure of authority approaches the brawling men. He grabs Pulsar by the ear and leads him like a naughty schoolboy into the cage. One by one he deals each combatant in a variety of different ways until they are all inside the cage. Even Maleph gets the treatment when trying to dive bomb him. Getting swatted away and sent crashing into the big video wall. The hooded mystery man then unmasks himself to reveal Massif. He gets a massive pop and seems to of fully won respect back having broken free of Mesmer’s shackles. So much drama it’s almost forgotten there is a massive bonus match to be had and it now goes down as thus … Pulsar knocks off Blazing Skull after a long, long initial battle. Neither team wanted to appear weak and be the first to lose a man. All stepping up a gear. The back and forth battle between Pulsar and Bishop Hell was memorable until Ram and Wolf took centre stage. In a move tied to his gimmick Santa Wolf threw a plate of cookies hidden in his costume at Ram which gets a cheer. Ram brutally makes him pay with some hard hitting offence of his own and makes the first big move of the match with RAM CHARGE. Inside of a cage it’s potency magnified but the danger of missing also amplified as a collision with the cage bars could await. Unlucky for Ram he misses and we nearly have the first casualty as Wolf pounces with SAVAGE FACE CLAUS (+3). Ram somehow breaks free of its grip. Wolf is fired up now but has to remember he has team mates and takes some convincing to relinquish his position in the ring so Archon can get some time in there. Could be a shrewd move. With Ram now damaged Archon’s submission style looked perfect to start really wearing him down. But Ram smartly acts quickly and tags out to unleash Blazing Skull for his second stint in the ring. A surprisingly insignificant battle takes place between Archon and Blazing. Instead it’s Pulsar, when tagged in, that starts making some inroads and putting tokens on Blazing with WHIRLWIND among other things. The move everyone wants to see stays on ice for a while but the crowd starts urging for it. Pulsar hears their cries and throws ACID RAIN. Blazing screams in pain and in his blinded state runs straight into the cage side and knocks himself out. Wolf leaps over the rope and floors the onrushing Bishop Hell with a cross body. Archon cannot bring himself to break any rules and stays out but it matters not. Pulsar covers Blazing and eliminates him … Archon tortures Ram to give the hero trio a huge advantage. In a bid to even things up fast Ram charges suicidally at Archon and ends up smashing into the cage wall again. Archon quickly smothers him with submission move after submission move until Ram can take no more. He yells at a thousand decibels “I QUIT” as Archon works away at him with ELBOW HYPEREXTENSION. Bishop Hell now all alone in the cage. Surely no hope … Bishop Hell burned Pulsar with HELLFIRE. Pulsar wants the final say against his old enemy. It looks to be just a matter of time as he knocks the Bishop all over the ring. The big finish imminent but suddenly the Bishop executes a big counter move. Within mere seconds Pulsar meets a fiery demise. That shocked everyone including Archon and Wolf … Wolf vanquished Bishop Hell. The final fall started with Archon. He was the freshest and Bishop Hell’s legs were visibly wobbling. Archon tries to take him down quick but cannot do it and it’s not long before Wolf wants a piece of the action. As the tag is made the Bishop belies his fatigued state and pounces on Wolf whilst climbing through the ropes for an advantage. Clever thinking. He pounds Wolf for several minutes. Then places Wolf into the turnbuckle and starts adjusting his glove. Laughing he now turns to the crowd and announces he will burn Wolf’s ridiculous Santa hat followed by the rest of him. Wolf’s ears prick as he hears this and there is a flicker of life. But he stays as still as he can waiting. The Bishop charges and Wolf moves at the last moment. The Bishop collides and bounces off the buckle and straight into a chimney drop. Wolf howls with excitement and beckons Archon to join him in an ascent of the furthest cage side. Together they climb and high five at the top. It’s this image that gets pictured the most the next day when all the websites and journals report and review the event. They have all the time in the world to continue their escape and complete an incredible win. The eliminated Pulsar is there to meet them at the bottom and all three share an embrace. The sack of gifts may of been ruined by the Lords of Fire but to see this win meant that didn’t matter. This was the greatest gift of all! FIRST ROUND:
THE GLADIATORS BEAT THE HITMEN 4-2. More pain predicted for the Hitmen. They have been taken apart by the Gladiators this year and the last thing Krakan would of wanted was to be drawn against them here. At least he is trying to put up a strong public facade. Pinning the blame entirely on Mayhem and maintaining the Hitmen are still the most feared team in the fed. Given the level to which they have been dominated the end score was surprisingly close but in truth the Hitmen never looked like they would cause an upset … Thunder and Overkill rip the Mercenaries to shreds on their way to a count-out win. Scattergun approach to the match from the Mercenaries. Soldier of Fortune wants to use the rifles as weapons whilst Vigilante actually wants to wrestle. All the while Krakan calls for double teaming to down the giant Overkill. There is no cohesion. Even Thrash is getting in their heads with endless vulgar trash talk. Most insults aimed at Krakan himself. He tries to shut her up but he’s been out of the ring too many years and nowhere quick enough. She even manages to make him double up with a kick to the groin and easily move away. All very embarrassing. The only thing that can make this look any better is if the Mercenaries can get it together and destroy the Gladiators. But that couldn’t of been further from the truth. A few minutes pass when the Gladiators up the tempo. Vigilante becomes their plaything. Getting battered with DECAPITATOR which he somehow kicks out from, then soon after he is in the path of THE TEMPEST. Again an improbable shoulder up. All it does is anger Overkill and that’s not something you want to do with this giant. He throws Vigilante around from buckle to buckle until he eventually falls through the ropes and out of the ring. Makes a move to get up but then just collapses. Vigilante’s broken body unable to take anymore. The Gladiators hold court in the ring watching. Neither moves a muscle as the count gets laid on. Even Soldier of Fortune does not try to lift Vigilante up to put him back in the ring despite having the time and space to do so. That would of been tantamount to a death sentence … Splatter scrambles to a win over Vengeance by DQ. Vigilante has barely crawled away from the scene when these two bulldoze the ring. Vengeance grins and spits on the fallen Hitman as he goes by him. Initially there are mind games from Vengeance to wind Splatter up. Calling Arsenal a girl’s toy that never hurt anyone. As if to prove the point he offers Splatter a free hit with it and no chickening out. Splatter can’t believe his luck. Takes a few practice baseball bat style swings. Krakan tries to warn Splatter that it’s a trap but he is too caught in the moment. Just as he pulls back for the final swing Vengeance swoops. Splatter’s guard is down and he latches in underneath the mask with Eye Cleaver. Splatter screams and blood drips down his mouth and chin. He blindly swings Arsenal around but smashes the turnbuckle with it sending a shuddering shockwave through his arms. It then goes loose. With his one good eye Splatter continues to pursue Vengeance but in the early part of the contest is being picked off. Vengeance well in control and only denied victory from HELTER SKELTER as Krakan saves Splatter’s bacon (twice). Up to 4 tokens now Splatter surely not going to last much longer but it’s as if the blood needed to start gushing to wake him up. Vengeance is stunned as Splatter surges and hits him with numerous brutal moves including THE SHREDDER. But Arsenal remains tantalisingly out of reach having fallen outside and been kicked under the ring by Vengeance earlier. Of course the tide turns again and Vengeance gets some modicum of control back but perhaps worried for Splatter’s resilience he starts relentlessly pitching the action out of the ring. He manages to grab Arsenal himself and clocks Splatter with it almost knocking him out. Inevitable DQ for that but maybe done on purpose as it only yields a solitary point for the Hitmen and means the Gladiators hold a 3-1 advantage going to the final match. Wow, that was a rollercoaster ride … Malice overcomes Mayhem in a short match by DQ. You wouldn’t of thought Mayhem was the odd one out in this match and being sent like a lamb to slaughter. Estranged from both teams. Aethrans display few emotions but even by those standards Mayhem is cold. Even if he does the impossible and sends the Hitmen through it will be unlikely to win him any new friends. Despite everything riding on it Krakan is no longer ringside. Not clear if that was of his own choosing or having been told his is not welcome by Mayhem. On paper it looked a great booking but in reality it was anything but. Mayhem quickly realising that he cannot match the power and intensity of Malice. Has him reaching for his chain which gets wrapped round Malice’s neck. Then comes the bell. Gladiators go through. However Malice in peril now. Not for long though as he manages to powerfully unwrap the chain and rip it from Mayhem’s grasp. Normally Mayhem would suicidally attack again but maybe he has been psyched out by all this as he backs off. However the verbals still fly and he warns this isn’t over and that he will become the Gladiators worst nightmare.
WAR SHOCKS THE ROCKET MEN BY A 7-1 MARGIN. Unbelievable to be saying the Rocket Men are the defending holders of the trophy. They stunned the GWF last year. WAR are determined to put them back in their place and in the process take a giant step towards winning the feud. It started pretty badly but Eagle, of all people, is the hero with a little help from his cuz … X-Termination overcome New Order by DQ. X-Termination must be taking this seriously. They’ve remained sober for almost 24 hours to prepare. Maybe the sibling rivalry is fading a bit. Dreggs admits in the build up he never enjoys seeing his own twin brother bleed at his own hands. Not quite the same feeling reciprocated as Sleeze says he still loves nothing more than beating Dreggs. Something which he has done a lot of. The supporting cast of Mace and Grunge don’t stay quiet either. During the bout Grunge begs off thinking Mace’s rocky relationship with his own partner might cause him to let him off the hook or hesitate allowing a cheapshot. Got that totally wrong as Mace calls him a sissy and fires a boot into the chest as hard as possible. That gets a big crowd reaction but soon all the same problems come back to haunt Mace. He just cannot keep his temper under control and gets sucked into a brawl and picks up the trophy with which to bash Grunge with. This brings about his DQ. Means the trophy defence off to a decent start for the Rocket Men but as you’ll soon read that’s about as good as it got for them … Raven raises the roof against Holocaust. Already some pressure on WAR. With Eagle still to come Raven knows he has to win big. The danger is Johnny Rocket will be doing all he can for Holocaust to not lose by pin fall. A DQ loss would have the Rocket Men in pole position as Brainstorm would be hot favourite in the last match. Raven is good at making fast decisions in the ring. He expects this to happen so sets about hampering Rocket’s influence. Goes against the ethos of the team but a speedy clothesline before the bell has Rocket seeing stars and unable to be the pest he normally is. At least not for the first few minutes. By the time Rocket gets it together Raven is well on the way. He still makes a nuisance of himself but is powerless to prevent Holocaust tumbling to defeat after BLADERUNNER. Exactly what’s needed but WAR not out of the woods yet. If Brainstorm gets a decent win next they are still doomed … Eagle shocks Brainstorm with a count-out win. Raven stays ringside to encourage his cousin. He is allowed to remain unopposed but stays noble and does no interfering. Not very scholarly from Brainstorm. He chooses Darla instead of Johnny Rocket to be with him. Arrogantly assumes it’s in the bag. Darla spends most time doing cartwheels. Not sure if it’s a show of excitement or she’s so dumb as to practice her gymnastics routine on this big night of wrestling. Eagle is brilliant in the match. Drawing on Raven’s coaching and hitting DEADLY DESCENT twice. The manner of his performance would surely of carried WAR through even if he lost as judges would only of awarded Brainstorm 2 points. The bonus point for being captain would not be enough. However Eagles unlikely win meant that wasn’t even a factor. He kept up the pressure and Brainstorm in scrambling to get away from him hits his head hard on the ring post after clumsily running into it. Amazing win for WAR and sets up a massive reacquaintance with the Gladiators in the next round. They are there on merit but I fear they will be battered by the Aethrans. Imagine Eagle up against Malice or Vengeance. But for now a moment to savour. Johnny Rocket is crestfallen and leaves the arena immediately. He was booked to do some interviews for the other matches. Dragonmaster in attendance agreed to step in last minute. He wasn’t wrestling at the event and was happy to help out (an early pre-cursor to his move towards colour commentary later in his career when he retires from wrestling).
GENESIS ELIMINATED THE STORMTROOPERS IN A HIGH SCORING 10-7. Normally Genesis would be underdogs but they are up against a team in free fall. The Stormtroopers face a prematch barrage of questions about Commando Sam’s whereabouts to which Prodigy laughs and declares “he can kiss my ass”. Arrogant as ever but they don’t back it up. Chaos does his job but his team mates, especially Superiority Complex, let him down badly and they suffer yet another crushing loss … Genesis Prime gives Superiority Complex a rude shock. Wild entrance from Superiority Complex as they burn to the ring on motorbikes nearly running over Wraith and Vertigo who were still approaching the ring. In fact if not for Vertigo’s speed and Wraith’s invisibility they may well of been struck down. It’s a return to what we know from Superiority Complex. They lost that freedom under Commando Sam’s regime who had banned such acts. Shame their actual match performance couldn’t live up to that whole act for once things were underway they were very much second best. Symptomatic of the confidence of each team, surging for Genesis but plummeting for the Stormtroopers. The common pairings saw Wraith have the measure of Prodigy due to his power and Vertigo troubles Skinhead with his nimble movements and quickness. Even so it was a surprise Vertigo pinned Skinhead so easily after MOTION SICKNESS. Superiority Complex had pin saves in reserve but probably didn’t think the situation was perilous enough to waste one. This is where Sam’s absence cost them a bit. If he’d been present they wouldn’t of hesitated because (a) he wouldn’t of let them and (b) there would of been a distraction and interfering opportunity also in the kitty … Max Shield knocks off Dark Justice. Max comes in looking disheveled. Justice rumoured to of cooperated with Mandrill and helped lure Max so the Watchmen could jump him about 30 minutes ago. Such collaboration with the Colonizers might not go down well with the other Stormtroopers. Especially Chaos who is wary of Mandrill and hates him deep down. But with no manager the Stormtroopers are rudderless and a law unto themselves. The odds may of been against him but it makes Max all the more determined to win. He wrestles one of the best matches of his career. Not that Justice was going to roll over. It means a total classic takes place. Max using his shield really effectively in the opening segment of the match. He struck MAXIMUM IMPACT four times without reply during this period. Justice has always had great endurance due to his low pin rating and kicks out each time. Knowing defeat will eliminate the Stormtroopers now causes Justice to force a way into it. He rocks Max twice with SHOCK PROBATION. First time it is a match winning +4 except it doesn’t win the match. Max defies probability and bridges out the pin. Second time wasn’t as clean a hit at +2 but given everything that has happened it was still a kick out that had to be applauded. Max feels the energy of the crowd and launches his second big wave of offence. Poor Justice takes as much as he can but he feels MAXIMUM IMPACT three more times before he is beaten. That’s an incredible seven times in all. Sometimes even in defeat a wrestler can come out looking good and this was such a scenario. But it didn’t help the Stormtroopers as they have disastrously bombed out with a match to spare … Chaos finally gets the better of Buck Steele/Genocide. Match is a dead rubber now. But the crowd still wants a show and to see Genocide. Not sure Buck has any hope to win without the transformation. As Genocide he has beaten Chaos before and the chances of the change happening against someone like Chaos are high. Two reasons, first that Chaos would be expected to dominate Buck but mostly because BOW OF DEFEAT is very much a wear down move. On its own it isn’t a potent finisher at (0) so often time relies on relentless applications. With that brings heightened risk of awakening Genocide. This very much becomes the way as Chaos tries to finish it early using his finisher twice. But it’s when he forcefully throws Buck over the top rope for a count-out victory attempt that things really start to happen. Chaos looks a bit shocked when Genocide appears from under the apron. Chaos wasn’t able to visually see the change. However the shocked looked changes and Chaos rubs his hands together. A chance to get revenge for previous losses. The two behemoths run at each other and barely bounce off. The old saying of the irresistible force meeting the immovable object comes to mind. An epic encounter begins. Genocide wildly pummelling Chaos at first. However Chaos has learned much from their past meetings. He continues to look for every opportunity to latch on with BOW OF DEFEAT and slowly but surely it starts sapping Genocide’s energy. When Genocide summons another violent attacking salvo Chaos prepares himself and remarkably gets out the path of CORPUS GENOCIDE. The miss did a lot of damage. You kind of got the feeling this would go the way of Chaos now. But there was still plenty of drama with powerful moves being traded and several bodged deathjumps. Genocide isn’t the smartest thinker in the ring. Driven by rage and makes a bad mistake of tossing Chaos into the ropes. It is a rating that Chaos excels in because it is so hard to throw him with force even for someone like Genocide. Chaos is able to put the brakes on and summoning all of his immense strength he deals out a powerful piledriver. Then hoists Genocide up in another feat of strength. Again BOW OF DEFEAT is applied and this time it’s over. You could visibly see Genocide shrinking in Chaos’s arms as he reverts back to Buck. He was totally limp and offers no resistance as the ref carefully lifts his arm up three times only to see it a flop lifelessly back down every time. A big win for Chaos on a personal level but the whole of 2104 has been a disaster for the Stormtroopers with this event a perfect summary of how things have been. However Chaos still blames Commando Sam 100% for this and takes possession of the announcer’s mic at the end to make sure the whole cosmos knows it. His final words are “before Sam came along we used to dominate this event. He’s an even worse manager than Morpheus which I didn’t think was possible”. He then throws the mic down with a loud thud rattling everyone’s ears. The remainder of the team now come out to salute Chaos, their recognised leader, in another sly dig towards Commando Sam. Let that whole demonstration not overshadow the achievement of Genesis here. They have been incredible but no time to celebrate. They were already back in the bowels of the Dragon’s Lair busily preparing themselves for the next round. Whether it will be against their good friends on the Champions team or their forever enemies the Colonizers it will be an incredible match.
THE COLONIZERS WRECK THE CHAMPIONS DREAM WITH A 9-4 TRIUMPH. For all the incredible successes over the years from the Champions they have not done themselves justice in this event. They’ve never even made the final. Omega urges them to cap a strong end to the year by finally winning it but knows on paper they might just have the toughest draw. Especially with Pegasus missing and Alpha Force disturbed by a possible looming long suspension. Colussus is also nursing a minor injury after being ambushed by the Colonizers on a dark show … Coat of Arms battle to a win over the Watchmen. Green fumes literally permeating from underneath Tocsin’s arms. The experienced Coat of Arms maintain focus despite this unsettling aroma. They know how much winning this tournament would mean to their father and complete the trophy cabinet. If Alpha Force was worried about any disciplinary action you wouldn’t of known it. He is totally dedicated to Coat of Arms getting the win. Any kind of win. They do the necessary and come through to victory but it was hard going. Star Warrior got really roughed up in the opening exchanges. Eventually gets the hot tag but when Alpha Force gets in there things aren’t much better. He gets hit with MARTIAL LAW and it is looking precarious. If it didn’t mean so much maybe Star Warrior wouldn’t of done what he did next. He rushes in and breaks the pin with an axhandle blow across the back of Painmaster’s neck. Whilst the blow rattles Painmaster it’s not enough to stop him going after Star Warrior. The chase goes outside the ring and allows Alpha Force to recover and ambush Painmaster. Ram cries foul but the ref ignores the plea. All Ram can do is bundle Painmaster back in the ring so he doesn’t get counted-out. But then Painmaster walks right into TOMAHAWK THRUST and pinned. Coat of Arms get the job done but not proud of themselves for the manner in which it was achieved. Star Warrior looking especially sheepish as their arms get raised … Nefarus goes over Colussus. Very pleasing to the wrestling palette. Nefarus is so dastardly and distrustful at times it often gets forgotten how good a wrestler he can be. Especially with those powerful legs. Colussus having shaken off injuries is demonstrating his unique ability to replicate moves. Always means that if he faces a good athletic wrestler that he will be able to mimic them. A recipe for a great match. Of course with the Colonizers 2 points behind there is pressure on Nefarus not to lose by pin as it will make it virtually impossible for Mandrill to claw it back. Also difficult time for Ram as he will be under special instruction to make sure that doesn’t happen. So lots of onus on him with slave punishment awaiting if he doesn’t deliver. Lucky for him then that Nefarus triumphs in a long match up that almost went to time. Colussus will feel hard done by having used SCISSORDRIVER against Nefarus twice. It ended when Colussus fell awkwardly (maybe the minor injury had worsened) and Nefarus delivered repeat stomps to the flesh side of his head. The brutality of which almost knocked Colussus out. Scores dead even at 4-4 going to the final match now … Mandrill mostly in control of Talisman. Omega is a gibbering wreck for the final match and cannot watch. That’s how much this tournament means to him. Good job Talisman looks as cool as a cucumber. Total belief that he is the saviour of the Champions. Not sure that’s a good thing and fits their image. There could be no slip ups for either of them with the scores even. Making it interesting as Mandrill would have to curb his rulebreaking as a DQ loss would be fatal. Talisman starts incredibly quick nailing an inverted bulldog right away. Rather than damage Mandrill it has the effect of riling him. From that point on he pretty much dismantled Talisman. Mandrill using MUTANT MAULER effectively to build tokens and wipe out Talisman’s low pin rating advantage. He then takes a risk with VOLTAIC STUNNER. It looks like it backfired as the ref ignores Ram’s desperate distraction and seems to have full view of it but the bell doesn’t go. The horrified crowd watch Mandrill go for the pin and assume it’s over. But no! Talisman gets a shoulder up. Maybe, just maybe this is going to be the Champions team's year. Mandrill screams out in frustration but immediately tries it again. It’s another distraction failure from Ram. The ref watches the move take place right before his very eyes. Again no DQ. Mandrill grins as he places two hands on Talisman’s chest for the cover. Nobody can take two jolts like that and the Colonizers progress. There was much controversy over the ref and whether he’d been paid off. How could he of missed what went on. Certainly the GWF will want to hush that up and stand by their official but behind the scenes they will investigate. But for now there is nothing that can be done. The ref’s decision is final. Mandrill taunts the Champions team and warns Genesis of their impending doom. His final words are “the Colonizers are marching towards victory. Those pathetic Omicron freaks cannot stop us. This will finally signal phase 1 of Colonizer domination of the GWF. It’s finally happening”.
SECOND ROUND:
WAR STUNS THE GLADIATORS WITH A 5-1 VICTORY. The old enemies collide. Smart money is on this feud exploding again next year. So this is an appetiser. Only worrying thing is how strong on paper the Gladiators look compared to WAR. Raven is still a superstar but New Order are pulling in different directions and looking weaker. As for Eagle, well he has had some good moments but he is nowhere near the level needed and very much work in progress. Vengeance specifically mentions him as being a target for sadistic torture and warns “death is very much a part of the GWF now. Eagle could easily be the next one”. Anyway I could write paragraph upon paragraph about the build up and where this could go but the simple fact of the matter was there was a match to be completed with a place in the final stake which WAR won big. Here’s the order of play … Eagle stuns Vengeance with a DQ win. Fears for Eagle. Stepping in the ring with better wrestlers who are the villains is one thing. But stepping in with a sick and twisted one like Vengeance is quite another. And to make matters worse Raven is not allowed to be out at ringside this time. The GWF officials having had time to revisit the rules and decree nobody other than a licensed manager be out there. So it rests on Destructon 3000’s shoulders but he lacks that human touch and cannot motivate Eagle quite like Raven can. Vengeance typically dominates but seems to enjoy dragging out the punishment too much. The longer he takes the more chance that something freaky could happen. When Eagle strikes with Eagle High Dive virtually out of nowhere it looks like the moment passed. Vengeance a little stunned by that but shakes it off and resumes his torturing. His sick disposition gets the better of him as he throws Eagle through the ropes and orders Thrash to handover one of her shoulder spikes. Thrash tries to stand between Vengeance and the ref as the spike is used to rake Eagle’s face. Destructon 3000 cannot bear to see Eagle being maimed like this. He asks a fan to flick a switch behind his neck and rushes towards the pack. Thrash is sent sprawling and the ref just about notices the spike being used before Destructon 3000 sends Vengeance about 6 feet in the air with a powerful throw. There is a lot of uncertainty as to what the outcome would be but to say Eagle being announced DQ winner went down well was an understatement. Although he will need treatment on some facial lacerations he was able to walk without assistance and should recover quickly should WAR make the final. Incredibly Eagle is now 2-0 at the event … New Order drew with Thunder and Overkill as the time-limit is reached. Even though WAR got past the Rocket Men in the last round New Order were arguing afterwards. They lost their match after Mace had another temper meltdown. Every time they seem to be getting things sorted and taking a step forward they seem to then take two steps back. Going up against the Gladiators you need to be singing from the same hymn sheet or you will be destroyed. Come the match they seem to be at least civil again. Destructon 3000 reminds them that Eagle’s efforts have given the team an unexpected chance to put this to bed one match early and follow his example. Dreggs nods but Mace is in his own world. Busily sizing up Overkill and impatient to get started. He assumes that the big man will start what with Thunder on the apron but gets a thrown a curveball. Thunder jumps over the rope and piles in with high energy attacks straight away. Mace is too slow to cope and flounders under relentless assault. It takes a while to steady the ship. Of course it’s a great match but the teams end up very much cancelling each other out. Anytime momentum is built up defensive tags take the sting out of things. It means throughout very few pin attempts happen. The closest we come is when Thunder struck Dreggs with THE TEMPEST. Mace made a save by clotheslining Thunder down from behind. It resulted in a race between Thunder and Dreggs to get back up again. After that not much to report and the match goes too long. Not that anyone paid attention to the bell. All it did was encourage them all to enter the ring to brawl it out. With officials unable to get control restored a clever guy comes up behind Destructon 3000 and flicks his inhibitor switch to off. Should of asked first, you don’t go tampering with someone’s switches without permission but at least it allows Destructon 3000 to enter the ring and clear it out with his devastating robotic powers. Even Mace and Dreggs got flung. The outcome sets up massive decider. WAR leads 2-1 which is nothing … Raven delivers a captain’s performance to pin Malice. So far no lull period for Malice in the GWF. He has been incredible all year. Even suggestions that he was on the shortlist for wrestler of the year but holding no belts went against him. Not that he had much opportunity. But if there is one guy that might be able to burst his bubble it is Raven. The legendary Raven has been dealing with and beating guys like Chaos and Malice’s mentor Spike all his career. With Malice having a very similar style to Spike it goes without saying Raven will know how to deal with him. With things so close there were a few interesting permutations but basically whoever won would take their team through except for if Malice only won by DQ that could force the unique situation of an extra play off match. It’s a cagey contest. Considering the styles of both it’s surprising to see them hold back. Malice is so worried about getting disqualified and going the same way as Vengeance he is shying away from doing many things and won’t go anywhere near the outside. Maybe this is the first time it highlights his inexperience as it makes him far less effective. Raven takes full advantage to win. It is still extremely tough but he catches Malice with a Raven Reverse Slam to send WAR through. A huge surprise as nobody really gave them a chance. None of the Gladiators really turned up for this match but most of the blame will be on Vengeance. He blew what should of been an easy 3 or 4 points to bank.
GENESIS SWEEPS THE COLONIZERS FOR AN 8-2 VICTORY. The second semi-final also pairs two natural enemies together. Makes for a phenomenal draw. There is FINAL BATTLE to come but this has possibly become even more pivotal in the final outcome. Things apparently got a bit hairy when Santa Wolf showed up moments before Buck was due to go out. He wanted to put SAVAGE FACE CLAUS on him and trigger the transformation. Max Shield wouldn’t entertain the idea due to the risk. Wolf angrily responds to Max “how about I put it on you instead?” Wraith had to use his invisibility to get between them and calm things down. Mandrill laughs when he learns of this and says “this is why those Omicron scum need conquering. They cannot work together or fend for themselves. We are doing them a favour by enslaving their people and giving them a purpose. They should stop resisting”. His words come back to bite him as the Colonizers are crushed and don’t manage a single win across the 3 bouts … Buck Steele/Genocide wins a thriller over Nefarus. First match always important as teams jockey for position. Given that silly DQ outcomes have proven costly in the past Nefarus warns Ram “don’t do anything stupid or I’ll have Painmaster whip you to within an inch of your life”. Buck is sickened by such threats even though Ram’s track record is not the best. He rushes at Nefarus shouting “not if I knock you out first traitor”. Unfortunately Nefarus is too good for him. Buck misses with his first few punches and Nefarus dominates straight away. Trying to put him away early. Of course with pin attempts always walking a tightrope against Buck. Sure enough Buck morphs into Genocide. Rather than show fear Nefarus goes for it and does well against Genocide putting 3 tokens on him and also attempting SCISSORDRIVER after receiving a lot of help from Ram. It’s still not enough to stop Genocide though who makes a comeback and cannons into Nefarus with CORPUS GENOCIDE. The ref tries to raise Genocise’s arm in victory but the poor chap just gets tossed out the ring. Ram joins him as punishment for his interferences in the match. Finally Nefarus, who by this time is only just getting back to his feet, is tossed onto the heap of bodies for good measure. Great start for the Genesis team … Genesis Prime in perfect sync to defeat the Watchmen. Neither team has reached the heights expected of them in the 4 years since they arrived in the GWF. A win here would be as close they’ve come to having a defining moment. Genesis Prime knowing their team is on the cusp of the final as long as they don’t take their foot off the pedal and rest on the laurels of Buck’s triumph. A victory of any sort would make it very difficult for the Colonizers to comeback. Painmaster is carrying a holowhip with him. He lashes at thin air whilst marching down the runway. An audible impact and groan happens. Then Wraith crystallises into view with a red mark across his chest. He’d tried to use his invisibility to get a jump on them but Painmaster sniffed out his game and guessed on his whereabouts. It takes Wraith a while to shake off the pain and Vertigo spends an uncomfortable amount of time taking on both Watchmen in the early part. He does well despite a few hairy moments and gives Wraith the time he needs. Genesis Prime starts to get stronger and stronger. Even partaking in a bit of double teaming to help their cause. Why not play the Watchmen at their own game? The final sequence sees Vertigo smash Tocsin with Genesis Rocket Launcher. Having had a few dizzying moments from MOTION SICKNESS it was clear Tocsin was in some peril after this. Painmaster stops Ram entering the ring to interfere. He doesn’t seem to trust him not to blow it for the Watchmen so takes matters into his own hands with a pin save. He doesn’t get very far as the ref ushers him away. Meanwhile Wraith joins Vertigo in the ring. Tocsin gets held up so Wraith can pile into him for a shoulder block. The ref never saw a thing. He turns to see Vertigo seemingly in the same place covering Tocsin. Only difference is Tocsin looks even more wasted and is easily pinned. Almost unassailable advantage for Genesis team now. In a commanding position with a 6-2 lead and only an absolute squash from Mandrill over Max Shield in the final match can save the Colonizers … Max Shield confirms his team’s win as he sees off Mandrill by DQ. Saving the best til last. They are still the main protagonists of this legendary team feud. With the Colonizers staring down the barrel of defeat Mandrill resorts to the desperate measure of mind games. All too aware of Max having a stand off with Santa Wolf earlier. He taunts that Wolf has now joined the Colonizers. Max rages and shouts ‘LIAR’ and runs at Mandrill with everything he has got. It almost had the desired impact as a rage fuelled Max is a bit too kamikaze and despite hitting MAXIMUM IMPACT a couple times nearly got into strife very quickly. His desperation to get after Ram at one point led to him being ambushed. Mandrill hit MUTANT MAULER but it didn’t yield the pin and that was probably that for Mandrill. Perhaps he should of taken the risk of VOLTAIC STUNNER and the possible DQ. It may of swayed the judges enough to award him the full 4 points and with a bonus point given to Captains taken the Colonizers through. But it was not to be and Max surges back into the match. The DQ for Mandrill comes about as he realises it is a fruitless outcome and decides he’d rather injure Max. He orders Ram to join him in a savage double team attack but even that doesn’t go very far as Santa Wolf shows he’s very much on the side of Genesis. Running into the action. He swings his sack and knocks both Mandrill and Ram out with it. Clearly more than just presents in there. In retrospect Mandrill’s acceptance of a DQ loss was not too smart. It’s a double whammy as he forgets it also gives away a SUDDEN DEATH point.
FINAL: GENESIS TRIUMPHANT OVER WAR BY A NARROW 7-5. The big final given the fireworks treatment and turned into a real extravaganza. Nobody would of foreseen these two teams contesting it. Destructon 3000 describes it as, outside of beating the Gladiators in the first SUDDEN DEATH, the biggest moment of his career. Even New Order seem to have forgotten the problems that besieged them yesterday during the pre-match interviews (although read on as they soon get into another disagreement moments before they begin their match). All eyes are on the big prize and everyone determined to work together. There was some slight concern that the Gladiators might try and storm the match and attack WAR members to demonstrate their superiority but luckily that never happened. They were probably licking their wounds on Aethran and getting whatever punishment was coming their way for failing to win this tournament. The two heroic teams are on good terms and every match starts with a handshake. The only one who doesn’t engage is Mace. In his words “this is no time to be all chummy. Any handshaking and back patting can happen afterwards”. Dreggs doesn’t like Mace’s attitude and they have another barney which gets diffused by their opponents, Genesis Prime, who just want to get on with things in the deciding match … Raven wins a great match against Max Shield. The two flag bearers for their teams meet first. It is a 5* classic. There was so much going on and lots of spectacular moves. The action stayed in the ring the whole time and it was fought in great spirit. The only sticky moment was when Max accidentally clattered the ref during a deathjump. Both guys agreed to stop what they were doing and make sure the ref was okay. This was all during a great period for Max. He was dominant but couldn’t find the position for MAXIMUM IMPACT during this good spell and only mustered a couple of pin attempts on Raven. Of course the tide was always going to turn and once Raven got going he was at his irresistible best. He hit BROADSWORD an astonishing 5 times but Max would not be defeated. An incredible will to hang on. By the time Raven stepped it up with BLADERUNNER poor Max could hardly support his own weight. He was at 6 fatigue tokens by this point and this was just one move too many. Raven was now able to pin him and give first blood to the WAR team. Raven took time the next day to send Max a special message in an online posting “Max, my friend, that was an amazing match. I never knew someone could take that level of punishment. You are a special wrestler and will be Heavyweight champ one day. Please do me the honour of teaming with me in the future”. A great gesture to which Max quickly posts back with the thumbs up emoji … Buck Steele easily sees off Eagle. Can you imagine if Genocide would show up against someone like Eagle? The consequences don’t bear thinking about. Thankfully the likelihood of Eagle getting enough time on offence makes it a remote possibility. Buck wins with consummate ease in a little over a minute via ROPE-A-DOPE FLURRY. Sadly for Eagle his Herculean efforts over the last couple of rounds catch up to him and he is outclassed. The fans give him an ovation as he leaves the scene. Even Buck joins them by clapping him away. It’s been a hell of an experience for Eagle and hopefully a positive one. Makes it real interesting now. One match left and Genesis leads 6-5. With the trophy so close at hand will all the friendliness and handshaking continue? … Genesis Prime beats New Order by DQ. This is not only about TEAM SUPREME. This is also about giving the winning team the boost desperately need to be considered as a top contending tag team again. As written above Mace and Dreggs seem to fall out again. Mace takes exception to all the sporting gestures that have been occurring in all the matches with so much at stake. The bell is close at hand and they arguing like cats and dogs. Just as it looks like Mace is winding up to strike his partner Vertigo zips between them and Wraith has used his invisibility to come up behind Mace and restrain his arm. With it bent behind his back Mace looks like he might flip but now Destructon 3000 comes in. Cannot hear all he says but he basically sets about calming Mace down. It takes a bit of a time but the bulging angry vein pulsing across his forehead fades and order is restored. Mace turns to Dreggs and says sorry. The two partners hug and finally the delayed decider can begin. Everyone praying the harmony will last. Genesis Prime ends up winning a back and forth battle by DQ. However that doesn’t really tell the story. It was fought in a reasonable manner and maybe the ref should of been more tolerant given all the emotions. Mace and Wraith got into a bit of a run where they going in and out of the ring. The ref was trying to stop them but was largely ignored. When Mace caught his shoulder trying to get past him and at Wraith who was leaned against a post there seemed to be a misunderstanding. The ref saw this as assault and upset everyone by calling the bell. Mace stormed away from the scene in frustration but Dreggs and Destructon 3000 had the good grace to applaud Genesis during the presentation ceremony. It brought the curtain down on a great show.

Card 862 – Europa Garden:
During the card Grogan comes on air to announce Splatter suspension. A 4 card punishment is met with some derision. Many don’t think it was stern enough … Fans in attendance got a real treat tonight as they observe two title switches. Not often that happens on a regular old show.
(THE GAUNTLET … TERAK … Hugs to kick things off. Terak is a real friend of the show. In the background Johnny Rocket is busy on Spacebook belittling the Gauntlet whilst it’s live on air. Qualitar smirks when a crowd member alerts him to it and he logs into his account. He suggests Johnny Rocket comes on as a guest to back his comments up and then switches his device off so he can respectfully give time to Terak who has been waiting patiently for his first question … Qualitar: “Sorry about that. Just dealing with some riff raff. Glad to see you’ve brought no pets with you tonight. How are you? You must be pleased at how your feud has gone?” … Terak: “All good thanks. Usually I would be but we were so far ahead at one point. Recent form made things unnecessarily tense” … Qualitar: “Well it made things more interesting but the Savage Kingdom doesn’t always get the credit it deserves. It looks like you will get over the line. You even had unexpected problems to deal with when Vyper went a bit funny” … Terak: “That was a worry but all down to Mesmer. I think we came through it and as always Omega’s team has done an ace job of dealing with Mesmer and the Stormtroopers. That threat appears to be over thanks to them” … Qualitar: “What now for your team?” … Terak: “The battle against Cannibal continues. He won’t just stop because his team lost. Too crazy to quit. We will keep beating them. Plus pursue goals like winning belts. We had a purple patch a few years ago led by Vyper. It would be nice to experience that again” … Qualitar: “I hope you can capture some gold. It’d be well deserved. I’d like to ask briefly about the emerging threat of the CPC and get your thoughts” … Terak: “It is a worry. I don’t really know what is going on. All I will say is the Savage Kingdom has a great relationship with the other hero teams and is ready to fight together if needed against the CPC. I don’t think any of the villain teams will stand up to them and fight for the GWF. Half of those teams are at sixes and sevens” … Qualitar: “Before we wrap up I’ve got a couple of questions sent in by fans if you don’t mind?” … Terak: “Sure, always happy to answer the fans” … Qualitar: “Any plans to put Mollock into the ring as a wrestler?” … Terak: “Maybe one day. But I’m very mindful of past failed experiences. Some of the older fans may remember Dark Star Creature. And of course we had a bad time almost a decade ago with Sectarian. Even now he’s still not completely over things. So will tread carefully. At the moment Mollock is doing a great job protecting us as a bodyguard and seems happy” … Qualitar: “Time for a couple more. Do you see Draconian Sheik as a possible threat?” … Terak: “Yes. Whilst it is good that Drac and the Terrorists are giving the likes of Cannibal and Darkos sleepless nights they are so unpredictable and dangerous. They’ll attack just about anyone. Mollock understands that he needs to be alert to them. We won’t actively seek them out but if any of us get targeted we will work together to deal with them” … Qualitar: “Last question. Will you retire?” … Terak: “Well I kind of already am. But I don’t want to put an official tag on it. I can still hold my own and will wrestle if I have to. So I keep registering myself on the roster just in case. I have actually only just put pen to paper on a match against my old adversary Vanity. That’ll happen very soon” … Qualitar: “Good answers. Well that’s it. Thank you as always Terak and best of luck for 2105. Let’s hope it’ll be a peaceful and uneventful year and we can concentrate on what we all love which is wrestling”. Famous last words!!! But things are not over yet. Terak has long since left and Qualitar is trying to wrap up with a rundown of matches coming on the next show when a voice interrupts … Cannibal: “Enjoy your last show Qualitar” … Qualitar: “What are you doing here? Surely your issue is with Terak and not me” … Cannibal: “I’m not interested in that jungle bum tonight. Instead I’m here to announce a new show in the GWF. Starting next week I will be hosting THE SOUP KITCHEN. It will put you out of business. Will just be for fun but the fans will much rather hear something interesting. You’re too square. Even that Johnny Rocket will find it hard to beat my ratings. He’s not as annoying as you but still gets under people’s skins” … Qualitar: “This I gotta see. You trying to host a show. Do your best. But for now I suggest you leave my set before I call security. Those guys make Mollock look puny” … Cannibal: “Don’t worry i’m going now. Cycle Hog’s preparing a team feast and if I don’t get back soon he would of scoffed the lot. I just wanted to let everyone now about my brand new show”. With that Cannibal leaves without incident. Qualitar looking a bit perplexed by it all)
Talisman finally dethrones Dark Justice as the IP champ (5*). Good job this match is late enough into the card that it’s after the watershed in many galaxies. Justice says some very derogatory things about Talisman during his air time. In a nutshell calls Talisman an insane f****r who isn’t getting his hands on the IP belt. Of course Talisman has his chance to respond. Whilst he is enjoying the chance of getting his hooks into Justice his main agenda is to claim it is his own doing that Mesmer looks on the verge of departing the GWF, conveniently forgetting that it has more to do with rumours that Phantast is floating around. Perhaps his focus needs to be more on the belt he could win than that. Thankfully that happens as the pair of them deliver MATCH OF THE YEAR no question. They each have 6 tokens at the end in one of the most thrilling bouts I think I’ve ever rolled. There’s too much to write and do it justice. Some of the highlights are … Talisman getting up after SHOCK PROBATION (+1) and then even more amazing to do it again shortly after a second forceful impact that shudders all the ring ropes (+5) … Dark Justice seemingly missing every deathjump he tried and nearly getting pinned … Constant out of ring action with weapons used but somehow no disqualifications … Countless close calls as each guy kicks out right at the last moment … Breathtaking aerial battles that would make cruiserweight guys proud … Trash talk that actually has the crowd in stitches many times, although that’s maybe not the intention … Talisman finally winning after an incredible offensive sequence of Centaurus Leg Lock, Talisman Tilt-a-Whirl Slam and AMULET DROP. Both were so drained by the end they needed assistance to leave the ring. Someone had to carry Talisman’s newly won IP belt he was so weak. The whole crowd is on its feet clapping them away although Justice did have it in him to tell them all to ‘sod off’ although in reality it was actually more vulgar than that. Will there be a rematch? There deserves to be one. Talisman later finds the strength to go online. His ego swells even more and he describes himself as the most important member of the Champions team now he was won them more points. Interestingly the only team mate to post back and offer a congratulations was US. Patriot who is currently out injured and resting. All the others are a bit tired of his boasting and stayed quiet.
Anaxis squashes Supernova to win the ladies belt. Everyone remembers Supernova’s incredible run with the ladies belt. It is one of the standout achievements in GWF history. Since then it has become a hot potato and perhaps unfairly lost a bit of credibility. Anaxis vows to give the respect back to the title and arrogantly suggests in her promo that Supernova should just handover the belt. She proclaims “it’ll be quicker in the long run and save everyone some time. Otherwise I’ll just have to embarrass her in the ring”. Supernova giggles when hearing this “Anaxis isn’t too smart. Any woman that acts as a slave to a man needs their head examining. I will knock some sense into her and in the process retain my belt”. Come match time Supernova’s excitable demeanour changes in an instant as Heracles emerges through the curtain with Anaxis grinning. The medallions worn on his rug of a chest gleam under the lights. Supernova shows genuine fear and suddenly feels very alone. She knows her family and other team members are otherwise engaged with a function on Cetus so they’ll be no help coming. It totally gets to her. Heracles doesn’t even have to do anything other than just be there. Anaxis has it won in something like a minute. Almost immediately putting a hesitant Supernova in her Grecian Sleeper Grip. Then the next move is CALL OF THE SIREN and it’s over. Supernova later almost in tears on her video blog over the manner of the title loss, she knows she has to be mentally stronger than that. Thunder impressively beats Max Shield by DQ. No backstory but I thought why not. Seemed like a cool match. Could Max use his shield to defend himself against the storm coming his way? Thunder on a run of wrestling some singles bouts lately. The Aethrans never discuss future plans but the smart money is on Thunder making a big singles push in the not so distant future. As if expecting possible attacks from current enemies like Mandrill and Mayhem the GWF puts plans in place. They have Massif stationed ringside in a bouncer’s role. He is not getting too many matches to referee and is having to pay his dues with menial jobs like this to win back full trust. His antics at TEAM SUPREME were well received but there is still more to be done. Massif is prepared to do it as he knows how things have looked. Of course Thunder being a Gladiator takes exception to his presence and tries to pick a fight with him just for the fun of it. Massif stands ready to take him on but before Thunder reaches him Max Shield has left the ring to engage. Massif calmly sits back down and folds his arms to watch the battle. Max is ultra aggressive and revives memories of his ‘Mad Max’ run. He is like a dog with a bone in going after Thunder. It’s all going swimmingly until Max got thrown down from the turnbuckle. After this Thunder is awesome. He loves this high tempo stuff and a fast paced aggressive match is tailor made for him. Max just about staves off defeat several times including after THE TEMPEST. Thunder is relentless in coming after him and Max is almost forced arm himself during a frenzied series of moves outside. He couldn’t get his shields working for him so is compelled to grab a chair. Not only does Thunder then get the win by DQ but he also kicks the chair out of Max’s hands and leaves him hurt and in need of assistance after an Aethran Power Bomb out on the hard arena floor. If not for Massif casting his huge shadow things might of gotten worse but Thunder decides Max has now suffered enough and departs. But not before giving Massif a glare as if to say “stay out of my business”. Mutant savages Eagle. Hoping for better next year from Eagle despite a few of wins in 2104. There were high points at GALACTICON and TEAM SUPREME but looking back he has been mollycoddled. That is because at times he has had low self esteem. Brainstorm’s ransomware threat still lingers but the fact WAR have not complied with the demands and nothing has changed shows he is full of hot air. Destructon 3000 even jokes that Brainstorm probably doesn’t even know how to work a tech device let alone tamper with source code or cook up viruses. Anyway Eagle goes about his business enthusiastically. Gives at a real go but a drowsy moment costs Eagle. Appearances can be deceptive and he tried to do a power move on Mutant. If he’d of done his homework he’d of realised Mutant is much stronger than its malnourished appearance looks. After that he gets terrorised. Takes plenty of punishment both in and out of ring and felt TEMPLE GRINDER, which is what eventually finished him off, about 5 times in all. There is still much to learn.
Janus defeated Scourge. Rumour this is a CPC try out although me thinks Colby and Pelf are just playing with him. Whatever Scourge is a bundle of nerves. Tripping on his way up the ring steps on the approach to the ring, falling through the ropes and landing at the feet of Janus who hasn’t even bothered to remove his helmet. Outside Reynard B. Guile is laughing at Scourge’s predicament. Through the giggles he shouts to Scourge “don’t worry, we may have something for you”. Another cryptic message. The match itself is a bit of a bumpy ride for Janus. Scourge giving him more problems than he bargained for. However there is no hint of an upset happening and Janus ultimately gets GORDION KNOT on to close it out.
New Order too well drilled for Monad and Dreadnaught. After New Order’s disharmony at TEAM SUPREME they are quickly back in action. This time there is no arguing. Play their part in a decent match. Monad had them worried as he locked SURFBOARD SUBMISSION on Dreggs but Mace shows no hard feelings and saves his partner. After that New Order pretty much takeover. Despite Monad’s high starting pin rating he takes an awful lot of punishment. Surprise kick outs and interventions of both Doomsayer and Dreadnaught keep him going longer than anticipated. Eventually they do get him after Mace wastes him with a running pole ram.

Cheers Rob. I enjoyed rolling that match a lot. Since becoming villain Dark Justice is featuring in a lot of good matches. He's probably surpassed his more illustrious team mates like Chaos and Heracles in 2104!

***BETWEEN THE ROPES***
*Alpha Force suspension is upheld after appeal. For what it is worth Alpha Force has apologised profusely for what he did and admits he hit a breaking point. To try and show how sorry he is charitable donations have been made to various organisations of the Commissioner’s choosing. Grogan appreciates the gesture but says wrestlers must be made an example of. Especially those of heroic status that youngsters lookup to. So there is no alteration to the 5 card sentence. Normally when appeals fail the punishment can be increased so maybe Alpha Force’s noble actions did have a small influence.
*Pegasus confirms he will defend title despite injuries. This has been dominating the wrestling news. A will he, won’t he saga. Pegasus has problems that desperately need him fully recuperating but if he doesn’t wrestle then the title will be vacated. There is no sympathy from the championship committee. Under that threat he is forcing himself out of the sickbed. Not wanting to show weakness he is playing down the seriousness. Unbelievably Death’s Head is hotly tipped to become the next Heavyweight champion. A ludicrous thought but now entirely possible.
*Mesmer comes out of hiding to say he is not scared of Phantast and intends to remain in this dimension. Challenges him to a showdown to the death. So far there is no response from Phantast. Just rumoured sightings but some of these lack credibility. It’s entirely possible he is not even in this dimension. Notably those close to Mesmer observe that he gets the chills whenever Phantast’s name is mentioned and it is affecting the influence he can exert over people. This certainly explains the sudden changes of guys like Massif and Sam.
*Mayhem continues attempting to get off a sinking ship by formerly resigning from the Hitmen. His signature is scrawled in blood. Krakan goes on air and is flanked by the Mercenaries. He sets light to it with them laughing. Then pointing to the camera he shouts “if I get my way it is you, Mayhem, who will be banished. You are the reason for our failure. No wonder the Gladiators threw you out”. One man’s garbage could become another man’s treasure as the CPC are watching the situation very closely and considering making Mayhem an offer he cannot refuse. Is this his way out of being banished?

Card 863 – Europa Garden: (If there was ever a show that was about one guy then this was it. Cannibal featuring so prominently. Hosting his disastrous show and then piloting three wrestlers in the booked matches including the big main event where Death’s Head would be challenging Pegasus for the belt. I didn’t actually plan it that way. It’s only as I started playing it became apparent how heavily booked he was. But it’s nice in era dominated by the usual stars that anyone can come to prominence on any given night. Even if it was a deranged psychopath. Also having just read ahead to the 2105 booklet I hadn’t realised Cannibal’s retirement is imminent so it’s good he got some decent storylines in his penultimate card)
To open the card there is a pilot show. Cannibal launching an weird interview segment called THE SOUP KITCHEN. He’d been making noises about it last week at the end of Qualitar’s show but nobody took it seriously yet here he was on a stage beside the ring ready to start. All very odd as Cannibal sits boiling a broth inside a huge cooking pot whilst conducting an interview with Mace. It’s so low budget that a flimsy light stand topples into the pot from behind causing an electrical shutdown. Maybe Mutant was doing the electrics and lighting. Before that happened Cannibal quizzes Mace about what body parts would go best with certain foods. The fans are horrified by the discussion and Mace wonders what he is doing sitting there. He fully expected to be sitting and talking about his fragile relationship with Dreggs and Destructon 3000. Cannibal then focuses on Tucor again and starts licking his lips as he imagines what the cooked bird would taste like. Asking Mace what condiments he would use for such a meal. It’s at that moment the lights go out at the venue. Screams in the crowd as darkness sweeps. They were only down for about a minute but in the panic it felt much longer. Cannibal finds it funny but his guest Mace has seen and heard enough. He kicks over the electrified cooking pot and abandons the interview. He will hope that Cannibal doesn’t take it too personally and label him as an enemy now. The last thing anyone needs is Murderer’s Row coming after them. Although being such an unpredictable character these days Mace might welcome it. Cannibal laughs at the mess and starts throwing bone fragments into the crowd inviting them to enjoy the meal. The bones were supposed to go into the broth earlier. Many fans with young families are disgusted by the antics and many complaints are received at GWF HQ. Commissioner Grogan immediately cancels the show hours after the farcical event. Stating things like this should not be happening. Looks like Johnny Rocket’s LAUNCHING PAD and Qualitar’s GAUNTLET need not worry about anyone else muscling in on their territory.
Heavyweight champ, Pegasus, beats Death’s Head to keep the belt by the skin of his teeth. Pegasus is injury ravaged but defies doctors orders to wrestle. It’s either that or give up the belt. His trusted physician tries, for his sake, to stop him wrestling. Pegasus seeks alternative advice but ends up having to get a ‘second opinion on his second opinion’. Eventually he somehow he gets the clearance he craves. Pegasus defiantly says in his pre-match “it will take more than a few hits with a manky wooden club to keep me down. I don’t need to be wrapped in cotton wool. Hope that the likes of Splatter and Chaos are getting my gist because they’ll get what’s coming to them. But for now Death’s Head will be the unlucky recipient of my bad mood”. When Pegasus gets announced to the usual fanfare many of the various commentary teams are watching him like a hawk. Looking for any signs of injury. But if Pegasus is hurting then he’s hiding it well. Moves speedily towards the destination whilst holding his prized belt aloft in the air for all to get a good glimpse. There is perhaps significance that Omega is following him out. Omega doesn’t always accompany his men unless absolutely necessary. Often preferring they fight their own battles in a noble manner befitting the Champions team. Next up is Death’s Head. Emerging through an eerie mist with glowing eyes. Some very cool special effects there. He isn’t starstruck at all at being in a match of such magnitude. Bears a devilish grin that suggests he is ready to prey upon Pegasus and his injuries. Omega looks deep in thought. He knows he will have to keep a close eye on Cannibal. Maybe even get his hands dirty dealing with him. We could have Omega against Cannibal every bit as much as Pegasus against Death’s Head. First move of the match looks to be a lock up. No chance Death’s Head can win a power contest like that but he is only feigning it. As Pegasus leans in Death’s Head prods a couple of boney fingers right in his eyes. Cannibal bellows with laughter at such a sucker punch. Pegasus struggles with his sight and swings wildly at thin air. Already he is seeing three of Death’s Head and struggling to recover from that sadistic move. Pegasus takes a chance and aims a bone-crunching clothesline at the one in the middle. It connects powerfully and Death’s Head falls out the ring. Pegasus probably should of taken some time to recover but instead follows Death’s Head out only get smashed with a skull. Cannibal made sure the ref didn’t see it. Pegasus looks really woozy after that. He is bundled back in and struck with FUNERAL MARCH not once, not twice but THREE times in a row. He manages to defy the odds and kick out every time. Omega didn’t move a muscle, maintaining faith that Pegasus didn’t need his help yet. His instincts were right. As Death’s Head now goes to poke another finger in the eye Pegasus has a lightening reaction to grab the arm and in one swift movement unleash a Pegasus Press Slam. Omega now gets frustrated with Pegasus. The champ seems to be ignoring his injuries and fragility to showboat the move causing Omega to shout “what are you trying to prove? Finish it”. Whereas once Pegasus may of scoffed at such direction and micro managing, these days he is more heroic and takes things on board. He simply nods at Omega. Death’s Head still isn’t up on his feet so Pegasus pushes him with the sole of the boot back onto his back and makes a cover. The ref counts the pin and a huge upset is averted. Cannibal on the outside looks too shocked to take any retribution. Pegasus shows the mark of a great champion to triumph through adversity. The win will push his title run to over 20 cards (currently 19) which is very respectable. Santa Wolf brings some festive cheer by beating Mutant Elf by DQ. Another gimmick match as Santa Wolf is back to deliver more season’s beatings. In a twist Cannibal sends Mutant Elf to face him. Mutant doesn’t have a clue what’s going on and why it’s been dressed up like this. An inexperienced interviewer tries to get comment from Mutant over the costume to which he receives a grunt followed by an attempt to eat the microphone that had been thrust forward. When Mutant reaches the ring and sees Wolf in his Santa gimmick it gets very confused and won’t go any further than the first step up. Luckily Cannibal is carrying a sack of his own and reaches into it before throwing a mince pie into the ring to entice Mutant successfully in. He then walks around the ring and gives some of the young fans treats from the bag. Horrified kids are handed shrunken heads, raw animal parts and one even gets given a live rat which causes chaos. Whilst this is going on the match had started and was wonderfully chaotic. Wolf’s costume gets torn and is being used as a choking mechanism by them both. The crowd is well into it. Well the ones that weren’t being bothered by Cannibal were. For sure the ref could of disqualified them many times over but let’s virtually everything go. He’d probably of been lynched if the bell would of been signalled. Mutant is like a thing possessed at first. All over Wolf and registers 3 tokens without reply culminating in what the commentary team decide to call a GRINCH GRINDER. Wolf resists what could of been a huge upset and then begins one of his legendary fightbacks. At one point he starts strangling Mutant with Christmas lights. Lucky for him the ref overlooks it. Everyone now expects Santa Wolf to deliver the greatest gift of all, a victory. When he cannons into Mutant with a deathjump it’s more or less over. Cannibal won’t let the match slip away that easily though and is rushing the ring and breaking a skull across the back of Wolf’s head. The ref has seen enough and calls the DQ. That was just one step too far. Despite the violent blow Wolf is surging on adrenaline and purges Mutant and Cannibal from the ring. Cannibal now has terrible trouble bringing Mutant back under control. Wolf leaves them to it. Cannibal reaches into his sack for another mince pie to placate it only to find they are all gone. Appears Cycle Hog may of got to the bag of goodies earlier and scoffed the rest. Not for the first time it takes a team of security guys to come out and put a snare round Mutant’s neck to bring it under control. Cannibal reclaims custody of it and declares Mutant Elf will now be taken back to its safe place to calm down. And if you don’t know what that is I suggest you check out the latest STARS OF THE GALAXY digital download reviewed a few cards back. Anyway Cannibal passes Mutant onto a group of handlers and then scurries back to position ready for the main event where Death’s Head was about to challenge for the Heavyweight belt. The prospect of it becoming a possession of Murderer’s Row is maddening but with Pegasus injured the possibility exists. Cannibal has already said that he plans to frame it at team HQ above his prized shelf containing a collection of skulls taken from an Aethran battlefield decades ago. How he came into their possession remains a mystery. Buck Steele/Genocide wins a mismatch over Gila. Murderer’s Row having fun with Gila, who still thinks he is an official member. Cannibal dares him to face Genocide. Not wanting to appear yellow Gila made the challenge. Buck accepted during a midweek talk show in which he also makes an admission that he doesn’t enjoy becoming Genocide. Whilst he welcomes the powerful advantage it gives him in the ring the downside is the chronic pain he suffers in the morphing phase and sometimes in the aftermath. He also derives more satisfaction winning as himself using the boxing skills honed over the years. Trouble is Genocide is what the fans want to see and he is all too aware that if he doesn’t transform when booked then many of them go home dissapointed. Of course that is beyond his control. Anyway the expectation was that we wouldn’t be seeing Buck’s monster alter ego tonight as Gila surely wouldn’t have the tools to hurt him enough. However that couldn’t be further from the truth. Although Buck makes most of the running he really labours to get the job done. Maybe Cannibal was bothering him. Several minutes tick by and Gila gets a rare moment on offence and manages to direct Buck outside onto the floor. Perhaps hoping Cannibal might help out and attack. Cannibal does nothing of the sort but the fall hurt Buck and triggered the change. Gila is petrified and tries to run but doesn’t get very far. Gila then tries to land some blows to get free but they have very little effect. His manager, Cannibal, is laughing at all this. Definitely not got Gila’s interests at heart. Genocide doesn’t rip him to shreds straight away though and Gila actually had some offence. Is Genocide letting him have some free shots? Ultimately Gila is always doomed. I couldn’t believe it actually when Genocide unleashed a berserk pounding assault and Gila just evaded being pinned. Let’s say that Genocide wanted to win big so pulled Gila up just before the ref pounded the mat a third time. Next move is CORPUS GENOCIDE and it hit perfect. Gila is completely wasted. Normally Genocide changes into Buck pretty quickly after the completion of a match but this time he stays in form a bit longer. Not knowing what to do with himself he actually jumps into the commentators booth giving Qualitar a heart attack moment. That was pretty chaotic as Genocide came on air with a blistering vocal attack on the Colonizers before finally calming down and returning to his more placid Buck persona. When Qualitar finally returns to the mic the first things he says is “shocks like that will send me to an early grave. Anyway on with the card and next up is a weird one that might appeal to all the kids watching”.
Hammer beats his old mate US. Patriot by DQ. Adam finally injury free and raring to go. Interesting side note to this bout was Commando Sam right at the back of the venue watching the bout through binoculars. Trying to remain inconspicuous but the TV cameras pick him up. He even gives a little fist pump when Adam gets some strong offence. More indications that Sam is returning to his old self. These two go back a long way. As a refresher Hammer was once Adam’s partner, Vlad, in the Young Allies. Seems a long time ago that Vlad shockingly turned on him to become Gemini. Brainwashed by the Brotherhood. Nobody saw that coming. More changes have happened since then but the rivalry still burns to this day. It’s just a shame this renewal of their feud didn’t end clearly. They certainly worked hard. Both guys drenched in sweat at the end but it was Hammer who was having hand raised by the ref. He had contended with some pretty relentless stuff from Adam. On the end of both finishers but doing well not to let either move beat him. Hammer tried to take shelter outside the ring after a flying backroll press but Adam comes after him. The trigger point for a brawl which didn’t end too well for Adam. He gets singled out for triggering it. At the back Commando Sam shakes his head with disappointment. In his mind thinking Adam would of benefited from his guidance.
Dreadnaught beats Scourge in a battle of the oldies. Scourge giving some strange signals. He isn’t much of a talker but is heard referring to this as a farewell match. What does he know that we don’t? Is it in reference to him or Dreadnaught? Anyway for two guys so over the hill they still manage to deliver a decent contest. As we all know it doesn’t need main event guys to make a match. Some of the greatest clashes in GWF history have been further down the card. Okay this wasn’t on that level but you get the picture. Dreadnaught emerging with a rare win after striking with GUIDED MISSILE. Doomsayer was present as he is so often is. He delivers a cryptic message of his own when summarising Dreadnaught’s match and year by stating “we have identified the areas for improvement. It has been a long year but Dreadnaught will reap the rewards of the investigations in 2105”.
Thunder and Overkill destroyed the Upstart Punks. Gladiators fancying a squash match to get in the mood for FINAL BATTLE. They were looking for some takers. The Punks think they are up to the challenge and fatally step up. If they were such important CPC members they would of been assigned a manager and had some level of protection but they are left to fend for themselves. From the very first moment Overkill simply picked Taurine up by the throat and tossed him like a paperweight they were doomed. It set the pattern of the match as the Punks barely laid a finger on the Gladiators. Romulus got picked on the most and took DECAPITATOR to end things. The poor Punks might be sucking their food through straws for a while after this.
STANDINGS GOING INTO THE FINAL BATTLE ARE AS FOLLOWS
Champions-Sam’s Stormtroopers 151-127 … Genesis and Wolf-Colonizers of Scorpi 72-65 … Gladiators-Hitmen 84-32 … No Fear-Lords of Fire 33-35 … WAR-Rocketmen 55-50 … Fighting Titans-Masked Assassins 54-44 … Savage Kingdom-Murderer’s Row 45-34 … Jack of Diamonds-Mad Jester 16-13 … Vanity-Killer Queen 8-8 … Dynamo-Scourge 8-7

Card 864 – THE FINAL BATTLE – Deimos Intergalactic Arena:
Special show to close things out. The matches between No Fear-Lords of Fire, WAR-Rocketmen, Jack of Diamonds-Mad Jester and Vanity-Killer Queen are the most tense as they will decide the closest SUDDEN DEATH feuds … Once again Commando Sam does not appear at ringside for any of his team’s matches. All that is known is that he sent his team a message to say he is returning to his original barracks in the USA and not to contact him. A possible sign he has washed his hands of them for good. Chaos later posts online “good riddance. To use Sam’s ridiculous military lingo ‘this is a desertion of duties’. There’s no coming back after this” ... Will be an all nighter for GWF officials afterwards as they check and double check all the scoring. One things for sure whatever happens there will be lots of chop and change in the fed after this. Perhaps the most ever since the breaking of the code. Viewers across the cosmos miss a major moment. During a commercial Lord Nexus is ambushed. The Ninja Assassins got him as he was about to lead his team down the runway for the initial introductions. He got knocked out cold with a kendo stick. Sparked a big brawl as the other Titans piled in. Poor Lord Nexus was underneath it all and being trampled underfoot. This took quite some time to sort out. Even Massif got in the middle of it. Lord Nexus then had to be removed on a stretcher. Desperate last measures by Darkos in one of his infamous planned attacks to give the Masked Assassins a greater chance. The team has done brilliantly in 2105 and the conversion of the Demons of Hydra into the Ninja Assassins has been a masterstroke but surely there’s still too much to do. Putting Lord Nexus temporarily on the shelf could go one of two ways. Either the Titans are too worried about his condition and it affects their concentration. Or it will inspire them to greater things in a kind of ‘let’s do it for Lord Nexus’ way. No Fear wins an incredible match against the Lords of Fire to become tag champs. Thrilling climax. Time for No Fear to deliver by winning the belts and in the process take this feud. Some cruel wrestling writers have accused them of living in the shadow of their more illustrious manager, Thantos. It’s time for them to make their own mark on GWF history by extinguishing the Brymstonian threat once and for all. Thantos cleverly enlists the help of an old friend and rival to try and give his team an edge. Bounty Hunter setting up an elaborate trap to contain Maleph. Hours before the show started he put up a net above the entrance ready to come down as Maleph swooped through. It worked perfectly. Thantos activated it via an app on his comms device. Timed it just right. The net tightens and Maleph is writhing around in it but unable to take off. The wailing sounds horrific. The Lords of Fire try to free him but cannot do so. They have to give up and start the match as the impatient ref puts a countdown on them or risk forfeiting the match and the belts in the process. Maleph’s predicament bothers Blazing Skull more than it does Bishop Hell. The Bishop doesn’t care about anything so long as he prevails. It’s not only about the belts it’s about self preservation as forced retirement awaits himself or Pulsar. The big worry is Bishop Hell might purposefully go for the DQ loss as that would just about see the Lords of Fire over the line. Bishop Hell tried to end it fast but kept making the kind of mistakes a rookie might make. It got him into real strife against Archon and the endless submission moves ensure a high fatigue count early on. The Lords of Fire cling on and Blazing Skull then had a strong run against Pulsar with BURNING TOUCH causing plenty of problems. Although Archon won’t condone it Thantos saves Pulsar’s skin by attacking Blazing Skull and turned the tables. Given the gravity of the match Archon might just about be able to forgive him. It gives Pulsar a new lease of life. The contest then continues swinging back and forth but No Fear works harder than they have ever done to get Bishop Hell back in a vulnerable position. With pin saves used up and Maleph trapped it won’t take much more. Sure enough ELBOW HYPEREXTENSION brings down Bishop Hell. The tap out is almost instant. Pulsar drops to his knees as the realisation of what’s happened sinks in. Thantos leaves his guys with the spotlight but kicks Maleph as he leaves. The retired Bishop Hell cannot believe it. He won’t leave quietly and threatens he will get around his retirement to get revenge. But his threats are soon drowned out by deafening crowd cheers. A wall of security then forms around the ring in case he wants to start playing with fire. Begrudgingly the Lords of Fire leave with neither acknowledging the other. They didn’t even stop to check on Maleph. It is an amazing end to this feud. Even Archon looks a little emotional as he is handed one half of the belts. It’s the second time he’s been a tag champion but that is secondary to the bigger picture. Nobody cares about Maleph still trapped in the net. Long after the event has ended and the lights at the venue are switched off he is still stuck. Some workers had made a half hearted effort to free him but give up. One bald chap overheard saying “let him stay there. Let’s go for a drink. Emergency services can deal with it in the morning. Will give him plenty of time to think”. And with that Maleph is left in darkness.
Chaos and Heracles overpowered Colussus and US. Patriot in a match where Massif was the ref. The big headline is that Massif is back in a refereeing role. Given a chance to prove himself again and this time shows no favouritism. Heracles, perhaps thinking it’s all a show and that Massif is still on the side of the Stormtroopers, pats him on the back like an old friend and goes for a handshake. The crowd gasps as Massif grips his hand back but the face of Heracles soon changes to one of horror. Massif crushes his hand like a grape and orders “GET OUT OF MY FACE OR YOUR DISQUALIFIED”. A huge cheer goes up. One other point before I summarise the match but it seems the loose alliance the Champions team had with Talisman is at an end. This match is the straw that breaks the camel’s back. Talisman walked out of a meeting with Omega and the others days beforehand after learning he wouldn’t be featuring at the event. He reportedly said “as the leader of this team, your captain at TEAM SUPREME and the Interplanetary champion I thought I’d have greater respect than to be told last minute my services are not required for this important event. I wish you all good luck but I think I am better off on my own or finding my own team to command”. Could of ended worse but Talisman certainly with delusions of grandeur and acting above his station. It’s probably in the best interest for all parties involved. So onto the match. As already mentioned Massif had left everyone clear that he meant business and would stand for no tomfoolery. He doesn’t even acknowledge Omega despite knowing deep down that he had let his friend down by allowing Mesmer to distort his mind. This was all about officiating things in a totally impartial manner. An energetic start from Adam and Colussus soon runs out of steam as the power of Chaos and Heracles takes over. Chaos benefits from Massif’s inclination not to call a DQ unless absolutely necessary and wins an out of ring scrap after rolling out there following a Running Rocket Shot. Massif does order the action back inside forcefully but it was the beginning of the end for Adam. He is relentlessly squeezed with BOW OF DEFEAT before a Hyperdrive knocks him semi-conscious. Colussus cannot get in to make the pin save because Omega holds him back. Doesn’t want him getting into conflict with Massif and going back to square one. They just have to accept the defeat. Looking back on it there was not really any controversy. Could of been a moment when Chaos accidentally bumped Massif and the two giants stood face to face for a couple of seconds. But that was when Adam then hit the Running Rocket Shot on Chaos and unwittingly diffused the situation. Of course that was a false hope and indirectly led to the outcome.
Masked Assassins comfortably beats Fighting Titans in a Battlezone match. This has been getting closer and closer all the time and although mathematically it’s not over there is surely too much left to do for the Assassins. Nothing less than a whitewash will do and even then would only bring them level. Promos are tense, Lord Nexus paints of a picture of how proud he is of his team calling them “the fastest growing team in the GWF and the second generation of Titan talent”. Darkos mortified to hear this and strikes back “that’s plagiarism. I have been telling everyone this team is the second reign of Assassin Greatness. Lord Nexus is such scum that he is now stealing our catchphrases. What a d*ck”. The banter passed and now it was time to get down to it but viewers across the cosmos are a bit confused as when the match comes online Lord Nexus is missing in action. The commentary team has to fill them in on what happened. As for the way this went read on … Hydrax blows Rising Sun away. What a start. Hydrax barely lets Rising Sun up for air. Three pin attempts in a row in the first minute which included DEATH POINT STRIKE. The final one eliminates Rising Sun. Hydrax changing up the angle of attack with a perfect cross body block … Hydrax also sees off Dragonmaster. Things getting nervy for the Titans now. Hydrax gets rid of two of them and only has a single token. The match was dramatic because Dragonmaster accidentally knocked out the ref. It was a long time without one as it was a 15 move recovery. In that time both have pin attempts. However the ref is recovering just as Hydrax is putting a run together. As Hydrax strikes Tanto Twin Thrust the ref ponders whether to DQ Dragonmaster but instead counts the pin and it just about succeeds. Slight question marks as Dragonmaster did kickout right on the 3 it seemed. However in defence of Hydrax it was a real slow count as the ref was still a bit groggy … Scion Nexus stops the surge of Hydrax. The Titans look to Scion Nexus to crush this mini revival. The youngster delivers as he dazzles and uses THE RISE AND FALL. Darkos attempted to interfere but Scion took him out and then pinned Hydrax. It means the Titans have officially won the feud even though they might not go onto win this match … Daeman ends a thrilling battle with Scion Nexus with IRON HAND. The Masked Assassins have certainly given it their best shot. On the cusp of a dominant win and given respectability to the end score … Ursa Major overcame Daeman by DQ. Another good contest. Ursa Major attempted SHOTGUN CRADLE several times without success. Daeman then turns it round with a Death Grip. Ursa Major slips out the ring after this whereupon Darkos gets an itchy trigger finger and attacks him causing the DQ loss. Cheap loss but the Masked Assassins are still favourites with 2 guys in reserve … Enigma closes the match out by downing Ursa Major. It was the usual display of breathtaking moves from Enigma but it was a sunset flip that led to the match winning pin. The Masked Assassins plan almost worked out. At least they still won to make them look strong. Manslaughter wasn’t called upon which is probably just as well as he is carrying a minor injury.
Max Shield is inspired as he takes down blood enemy Mandrill in a Titan Death match. Mandrill has been in a mega bad mood, if that’s possible. The Colonizers let Genesis back in having led the feud almost all the way and now they’ve officially lost. But the biggest thing to rankle him was that Genesis went and won TEAM SUPREME. Of course Mandrill blames everyone but himself. Even Nefarus doesn’t escape his criticisms but the ones that are shaking most are Tocsin and Ram. They are both aware of Mandrill’s brutality and fear he could even go so far as to having them executed if he could get away with it. Mandrill is a law unto himself and could pull off such an atrocity if he deems they outlived their usefulness. Max Shield inspirationally declares the war against the Colonizers will never end even though his team has won the feud. He famously announces “we fight for not only the liberty of our people but for guys like Tocsin and Ram. Nobody should be bullied, enslaved or live in fear of someone like Mandrill”. As if a match between them needed anymore build up but such verbal jousting doesn’t do any harm and the watching cosmos is hot for it. It certainly doesn’t disappoint. The determination to win very evident on both sides. Mandrill is dishing the more heavy hitting moves but keeps getting frustrated with Max’s ability to get his shields up. One example was where he dealt a Prime Piledriver. A move that often leaves opponents in a lot of trouble and acts as a setup to bigger things. Max no sold it twice and just bounced back up with a big attack of his own. It leads to a lack of composure from Mandrill and he gets taken out with a big flying clothesline after being tossed into the ropes. Max really has the fire in his belly after that and quick as a flash follows up with another flying clothesline but this time off the top rope. The excited fans chant for MAXIMUM IMPACT. Max gives them the thumbs up and goes for it. The reaction is deafening as Max then just about completes the pin. Mandrill too late with the kickout. There was some afters as Mandrill angrily warns Max that the battle may of been won by Genesis this year but they will not win the war. The Colonizers are ready takeover next year.
Jack of Diamonds digs deep to finally see off Mad Jester in a Titan Death match. With a 3 point lead Jester has to win to draw things level. Nobody knows what will happen if that turns out to be the case. Maybe a final play off bout. Jack’s father, Exo-King, wasn’t happy with the match stipulation suggesting it favours Jester. He needs to have faith in his son to deliver but can see his point. If there are no rules then Jester is capable of just about anything. Becomes a wild match. Jack starts really well but Jester pegs him back. Deep concern as Jack gets trapped in the ropes and struck with A DEAD MAN’S VERSE. Jester starts giggling and spouts some kind of oddball limerick. Too much showboating perhaps as when he finally covers Jack does amazing to get a shoulder up. Soon after Jack takes Jagged Edge Standing Kick full in the face. But Jack shows a determination not to let Jester pick his pocket and level this feud up. Summoning everything he’s got kicks out again and starts fighting back. Had the weird sight of Jester laughing every time he takes a big move. Jack doesn’t let this distract him. He can feel the momentum building. Managing to go on an incredible run of BLACK DIAMOND threw times in succession (4 over the whole course of the match) to finally defeat Jester. As soon as the match is won Exo-King dashes out to be with him. Maybe a tad over protective but he wants to be there in case Jester has one last surprise for them. There is a lot of relief on the King’s face that this tricky obstacle had been negotiated. It has been a tough last couple years and the health problems contended with have not helped. Hopefully onwards and upwards for this legendary father and son pair.
Thunder defeats Mayhem in a bloody Castor Chain match. Tailor made match for Mayhem (although just about any hardcore match is) but Thunder shows no fear. Confidently wrapping the chain around his fist ready to deal with whatever is coming. Both go at a rate of knots from the off. The intensity, particularly from Thunder, never drops off. No surprise they are blood sodden by the end. But it’s another match that goes the way of the Gladiators. Mayhem lost a lot of impetus when he missed with LEAP OF DOOM. With risk comes reward and that is why Mayhem will never stop going for it but certainly this costs him. Thunder is very effective with the chain after this. At one point he managed to get Mayhem tied to the turnbuckle post with it. For a while Mayhem was totally helpless as Thunder explodes on him with a variety of deadly moves like karate chops, shoulder tackles and jabs. Trouble is he has to eventually untie Mayhem in order to pin him. Even after all that punishment Mayhem offers resistance and refuses to be pinned. Thunder keeps ramping it up and soon goes for THE TEMPEST. Again Mayhem kicks out. This was an awesome show of endurance but when the move hits again minutes later it’s all over. Mayhem’s 5 token count for too much weight to carry. Just for show Thunder releases the chain from his wrist and wraps the entire thing around Mayhem who isn’t moving too much. When Mayhem recovers some energy he tries to extract himself but cannot manage it. He is wrapped pretty tightly. He snarls at officials who try to free him. Not wanting their help but eventually has to accept. To say Mayhem was angry at such a public humiliation was an understatement. Once freed he threatens anyway who gets near him and destroys a table. The walk back up the runway is a long one when the media glare is on you and Mayhem knows it. 2104 can’t come to a close quick enough for him. It’s been pretty disastrous.
Vengeance and Malice crushed the Mercenaries in a cage match. Strange position for Vengeance to be in. He should be in favour on Aethra as the Gladiators have annihilated the Hitmen. However the TEAM SUPREME disaster has made his position uncomfortable. His mindless DQ loss to Eagle meant he was largely culpable for their embarrassing exit at the hands of WAR. Means winning this cage match of paramount importance to the Gladiators and to start repairing the damage done. The Mercenaries look fired up. They are hoping to end on a high and strengthen their position for next year. Carrying colossal replica guns which shoot Hitman cards into the rafters like confetti. Thousands flutter down into the crowd. Each card with information on how to hire the Hitmen for jobs. Certainly makes for spectacular entrance. Vengeance just sits waiting for them in a corner of the cage with some kind of sick and twisted grin. Malice is not impressed with the show and paces around impatiently. He has a lot of energy to burn and having lost to Raven recently is looking to regain that air of invincibility he had spent all year building up. Trouble is for the Mercenaries all the big show is for nothing as the bout just about sums up the whole feud. Total annihilation. Vengeance pounced straight on Soldier of Fortune. Then does the same to Vigilante when he comes in for the hot tag. Hardly takes a hit himself before finishing Vigilante with HELTER SKELTER in little over 2 minutes. Malice barely had to do anything. His only involvement to run at Soldier of Fortune and knock him down like a tenpin as he tried a pin save. It was just so easy for the Gladiators. More embarrassment for Krakan. Malice and Vengeance aren’t even a proper tag team which made it even worse. The Hitmen won’t be getting hired much next year if they carry on like this.
Mace brings it big time against Sleeze in a Falls Count Anywhere match. No secret that Destructon 3000 wanted Dreggs to wrestle here but Mace pleaded his case. He wants to show his commitment to the WAR team. Destructon 3000 likes what he is hearing and makes the switch. To be honest Dreggs hasn’t fared too well against his brother in singles matches meaning it makes sense to try it this way round. So Mace gets what he wanted and the chance in the spotlight. Mindful that he doesn’t want to let his team down Mace starts with great intensity and hunger. He is really repaying the faith shown in him. Sleeze didn’t know what hit him in the beginning. Tossed all over the ring and then of course outside the ring and all over the arena. The cameras obediently follow and relay everything that is happening back to the giant video screen. At one stage the action bursts into a restroom. Sleeze gets his head stuffed into a toilet which hadn’t been flushed. Gross. There is just no letting up. On the brief occasion they return to the ring Sleeze is still struggling and makes the mistake of bailing out again. The punishment just starts all over again. Nothing going to stop Mace taking this. He certainly seals it in style. Choosing to execute MACE’S LITTLE HELPER in the middle of the runway so everyone can see it with their own eyes.
Raven too classy for Holocaust. WAR has stepped things up at the right time with Raven, as always, the inspirational leader behind it all. He has had another incredible year. May not of held any belts but won at OTB and was named MVP at TEAM SUPREME. Not bad going. Quite the opposite for Holocaust who has suffered alarming losses and has been well beaten by Raven the last time two times they have met (he has actually lost his last five, twice to Kati and Raven plus a defeat at the hands of Pulsar). Tries hard to redress the balance and gives Raven a torrid time. But we always get the feeling Raven always had another gear. Johnny Rocket is as noisy ever but just ends up confusing Holocaust. Raven then shuts him up by getting hold of his mic and hurling into the crowd. There was a scramble for it as it would make a valuable souvenir. Back to the proper action and Raven takes advantage of a lapse in concentration to catch Holocaust with a Raven Reverse Slam. It winds Holocaust sufficiently to get the pin. Holocaust angrily shoves Raven off from the covering position but it’s a second too late. Raven looks poised ready for some afters but Holocaust just ends up storming off with his manager. His miserable run continues to a sixth straight loss with three of those now coming at the hands of Raven. Leaves everyone in no doubt who has been superior in this feud rivalry.
Buck Steele/Genocide is a winner against Nefarus but it’s only by DQ. The feud between Genesis and the Colonizers may be settled but this is and always will be a huge match. Anytime one of the Genesis guys go up against the traitorous Nefarus there is lots of emotion involved. Nefarus likes to brag he’s not scared of Genocide but his mind was working overtime on how to try and win this without triggering the ticking time bomb inside Buck. There wasn’t even the insurance of Ram at ringside so this would be tough. However as we’ve seen before Nefarus is one of the smartest wrestlers around and can certainly handle himself inside the ring. Unfortunately even the best laid plans don’t always work out and SCISSORDRIVER awakens the beast barely a couple of minutes in. However the expected domination by Genocide doesn’t happen. Genocide even has to withstand Nefarus’s finisher again after going for a deathjump and missing. Suicidally he did the same again later but it didn’t lead into anything too dangerous that time. As alluded to earlier Nefarus is so smart and can wrestle Genocide better than most. He spends a lot of time coaxing Genocide out of the ring knowing this could provide a chance of DQ win. However he ends up being the one disqualified as he used the charging momentum of Genocide to send him straight into the announcer’s table which injured some of the officials. They couldn’t get out of his path fast enough. Nefarus doesn’t hang around to hear the bell. Gets out of town pretty fast and leaves everyone behind to deal with the raging Genocide. It needs Max Shield having to come out to try and placate his buddy. Something he barely achieves.
Death’s Head tortures Vyper. After the match Death’s Head has just had against Pegasus for the Heavyweight belt this must of represented a bit of a come down. Not that it felt this way as Vyper tries to freak him out with his usual snake tricks. Emptying the bag so that snakes slithered in all corners of the ring. Death’s Head seemed to be devoid of paltry emotions like fear and just stepped over one of them. When one came close he just kicked it away. Vyper was frustrated but that turned to panic when Cannibal instructed Death’s Head to capture one so that Snake Pie can be served up as part of the team’s Christmas dinner. Before Death’s Head can wrap his boney fingers round any of them Vyper dashes across and floors him. Cannibal goes to grab one instead but as it arches up and hisses he backs away. The hesitation allows Vyper to get them back into the bag and into the custody of Mollock. Terak is also present to help out. He figured at a big event he needed to be here too. With Mollock now otherwise engaged with snake handling duties it is up to Terak to keep tabs on Cannibal. He is soon busy but not in the way he had hoped. Needing to enter the ring and help Vyper out after FUNERAL MARCH. Terak gets viciously swiped at by Death’s Head for his troubles but at least he averts the danger temporarily. Although Death’s Head goes onto to try the move again. Looks dangerous but Vyper musters a kickout on his own. Unfortunately it doesn’t trigger any kind of miraculous fightback. Vyper continuing to look really lethargic and is not at the races at all. Simply stands there and accepts a Halloween Hack followed by a vicious skull rake. This time it does end in a pin. Good job this wasn’t crucial with the feud already won by Savage Kingdom. All Vyper can do is leave under the protection of Mollock and now regroup for 2105. It’s been a very difficult year for him.
Killer Queen banishes Vanity. One of several feuds left on a cliffhanger moving into FINAL BATTLE. Both trying to outdo each other by playing the greater showman. The fact their immediate GWF careers rest on this match doesn’t hold either guy back on this front. Rumour is Maxine Babe is ready to leave Vanity if he is forced out of the wrestling spotlight and go face in a bid to attract some of the hunks on the Champions team (her words). Will believe that when we see it. Anyway after plenty of stalling for time Vanity finally engages Queenie, he was probably trying prolong his career for a few minutes longer. Considering the undercard status of this feud it has given much more back than expected. Dead level and always entertaining matches. This being no exception. The pendulum constantly swinging. Even Exo-King was at ringside given the importance. He had pledged to be hands off but did get involved at one point although a kick to the gut by Vanity did curtail him. Given his frailty it wasn’t the wisest move. Anyway Queenie gets past this drama and eventually prevails after WARP SPEED to remain in the GWF. He pulled it out the bag when it really mattered. Maxine Babe screamed “NOOOOOOO” when the bell went. Perhaps the most memorable part of the match was what happened to Vanity after. He was still struggling on his knees when Maxine Babe came in and started kicking Vanity like a dog. She was furious that her time may also be up in the fed. Had to kind off feel sorry for Vanity as he had to fight her off, then pulled on his robe and trudged forlornly away. Will he be seen again?
DARK MATCHES
These take place at Arcturus Parthenon but were considered as part of FINAL BATTLE. After reading the handbook for 2105 and seeing what happened to Vertigo I had to try and write this in so hastily booked 6 further matches. On the fly this has now become one of the biggest events I’ve ever booked if you’re going by sheer number of matches. Sadly this particular portion of the event is one fans would like to forget
Ram hands Wolf a shock defeat. Not often we see Wolf bashed down to the undercard but in truth his heart hasn’t been in the Genesis-Colonizers battle for quite a while now. Wolf, as always, getting itchy feet and looking for the next thing to get his claws into. But there are still points available so at least something is on the line. Crowd is getting a bit more enthusiastic now. The atmosphere had been very muted after the horror of the attack on Vertigo earlier on. Given what had happened Wolf ditches the Santa gimmick for the bout. On the other side it’s a difficult time for Ram. He knows, as the lowest ranking Colonizer, that blame will be laid upon his shoulders having failed with the slave duties. With no idea what fate awaits him. All he can do is try and win this match and maybe show Mandrill he is worth a bigger role next year if he doesn’t get banished. That’s exactly what he did. Wolf came flying out the blocks but got caught at the top of the turnbuckle and thrown down. Ram wasted no time in going for one himself which hit the mark. Then gored Wolf with RAM’S CHARGE for an unexpected victory. Crowd not happy about that. After what had happened earlier they were hoping for Wolf to lift the mood. Treygar, a local who was in the second row, just about summed it up with his Spacebook update “love my wrestling but never felt so low at a GWF show. Didn’t enjoy that one bit”. That was followed up by Linus commenting “I know mate. Wish I could get my money back”.
Prodigy overcomes Star Warrior by DQ. The suspension of Alpha Force meant a planned Coat of Arms-Superiority Complex couldn’t take place so we get this instead. Although if we are to believe the rumours Prodigy was always going to spurn that anyway so he could satisfy a desire to wrestle a rare singles match. The wrestling media tries to make a story out of nothing with one later running a piece called ‘IS THIS THE END OF SUPERIORITY COMPLEX?’ Sounds ludicrous to most of us. They are arguably one of the greatest teams of all-time and have many more titles in them. Anyway the match is a shadow of the one we might of had. Star Warrior keen to give the fans something to lift them and show he can still cut it as a singles wrestler. Goes after Prodigy with intent. A 360 off the top rope floors Prodigy and gets a few fans on their feet. But then Prodigy squirms out the ring and breaks the rhythm. Star Warrior is too zealous in his attempts to get the action back into the ring. As Prodigy holds tightly onto the ring post so he cannot be moved around Star Warrior decides to plant his head into it and loosen the grip. Ref not standing for that and called the DQ. He was sorry to play the bad guy with such an unpopular decision but rules are rules. Star Warrior was really cross with himself for that and admitted “I know I should do better than that with all the experience I have got”. Prodigy brags about his singles prowess in the aftermath and how easy it had been to outfox Star Warrior.
Dreggs has zero problems in putting Grunge away. You’d hardly of known there was anyone in to watch this match. More or less silent throughout as everyone comes to terms with they’d just witnessed. The only noises are from the wrestlers themselves who break the ice with some trash talking. There’s not even the usual drone coming from Johnny Rocket as he is otherwise engaged on Deimos. Dreggs was a bit bummed he wasn’t there too. Mace had got the ‘bigger’ match against his twin brother Sleeze. However Dreggs needs to be professional and get the job done. A win of any sort here would put WAR out of reach of the Rocketmen and officially win the feud. Dreggs went onto pulverise Grunge. It was about 3 minutes of one way traffic. Grunge may of been sozzled which explains how pathetic his effort was. A Nuclear Charge proving to be the final move of the match. Dreggs wants to celebrate the fact he has handed WAR victory but the mood wasn’t right. A simple fist pump would have to suffice.
Vertigo and Blizzard against the Watchmen never gets started. Terrible moment for Genesis. Just as they should be enjoying defeating the Colonizers (as long they don’t lose all 4 final matches by pin fall) they have a sickening incident to contend. Blizzard fails to show for the match leaving Vertigo alone. The Watchmen take full advantage with Tocsin doing all the damage. Officials are hesitant to intervene and get into Tocsin’s air space. He batters Vertigo relentlessly with a Baseball bat. The legs and body take countless blows and Vertigo is barely moving by the end. It could even of been worse but Wolf made a daring rescue and cleared the ring. However Vertigo is hospitalised so his vital signs can be monitored. He won’t be leaving there anytime soon. Not that there can be any silver lining to this but the Colonizers should maybe of thought this through as the match not taking place confirms Genesis as feud victors. It’s impossible for them to be caught now. But maybe Mandrill just doesn’t care and has future plans already laid out.
Mutant demolishes Wildcat. Even for Mutant this was wild. Wildcat really hasn’t got the stomach for this at all and is never able to get into the swing of things. Repeatedly on the end of TEMPLE GRINDER until it gets too much and he passes out.
Karah defeated Cycle Hog. Match not of paramount importance in the feud but still a chance for Karah to show his skills. Must admit it’s great stuff from the youngster. Doesn’t let Hog’s immense size cause a problem. Managing to pin him after a Karah Cartwheel Kick.
