The NFL owners meetings start Sunday night in Phoenix and it sounds like the relocation vote may be taking place next Monday at these meetings. THE NFL reportedly has already determined the relocation fee for the Raiders will be between $325 million to $375 million which is only about 1/2 of the $650 million both the Rams and Chargers each had to pay in relocation fees to move to Los Angeles. Although the vote could be pushed back to the next owners' meeting in May, it sounds like the vote will happen next week and 24 of 32 NFL owners need to vote yes for it to happen. I hope the owners vote yes as I really want this new stadium built. As I have said in the past, I believe it would enhance this city's already world class entertainment industry, transform UNLV football, and bring us at least 1 Wrestlemania (and I would not be shocked if it even put Las Vegas into the Wrestlemania rotation with cities such a New Orleans and Orlando which have hosted or will host more than 1 Wrestlemania within a few years apart.) I can guarantee I will be attending the first Vegas Wrestlemania since WM9. I am sure it can be as big a debacle as that year. Can or can't be as big a debacle as Wrestlemania 9? Tournamentmaster, I am thinking you probably meant can't as it would be really hard to be as bad as Wrestlemania 9. If this stadium gets built and if it as expected leads to an upcoming Wrestlemania and if you come here for the show, the first round is on me for you and anyone else here on the board who makes the trip that weekend to Las Vegas.

If they have it in Vegas, I will do my best to try and go there. See if I can talk one of my brothers who loves Vegas to go with me.

Sorry, of course I meant can't. Wrestlemania 9 was the worst Wrestlemania in history. Only redeeming thing was Bobby Heenan arriving backwards on a camel in a toga.

The Raiders have now decided on the site for their new stadium here in Las Vegas and yesterday purchased the land. The stadium will be located Southwest from Mandalay Bay on the other side of I-15. So for people driving into Las Vegas from California, the Raiders stadium will be one of the first things they see as they approach the city. It sounds like the plan is to extend the monorail to Mandalay Bay and then have overhead walkways across I-15 so people can walk to the new stadium. www.yahoo.com/sports/news/raiders-purchase-stadium-las-vegas-105209538.html(on a side note about the monorail, I really wish they would extend it in both directions so it would run everywhere between Downtown and the airport.)

Construction on the Raiders new domed 65,000 seat stadium is planned to begin in January 2018 and end June 2020 before the start of the 2020 season.
The 30 months construction time period will be fast compared to all the other recently built domed NFL stadiums: AT&T Stadium (45 months,) University of Phoenix Stadium (40 months,) Lucas Oil Stadium (35 months,) US Bank Stadium (32 months,) Mercedes-Benz Stadium (entering its 36 month of ongoing construction.)

According tot he LVRJ, 7 of the 8 opponents for the Las Vegas Raiders have already been determined for their first season in Las Vegas (obviously the 3 AFC West opponents are annual opponents:)
Kansas City Chiefs Denver Broncos Los Angeles Chargers Miami Dolphins Buffalo Bills New Orleans Saints Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The other opponent will be from the AFC South depending on what AFC South team finishes in the same divisional spot as the Raiders in the AFC West, so it is probably either the Tennessee Titans or the Indianapolis Colts.

I think the Seahawks actually at least have a preseason game in Las Vegas next season. Every year the Seahawks and Raiders play the 4th and final preseason game against each other with the home team being switched each year and I think the Seahawks hosted the 4th preseason game against the Raiders this year. If so, I am definitely going to try and go to that Seahawks-Raiders game in Las Vegas next year even if it is a preseason game.
