Slowly getting caught up on everything that's been going on here and it looks like this timeline is completely off the rails! The death of Omega was a definite shock, but I enjoyed the touching scene between AF and Mutant during the memorial tribute...
What are the plans of the Futurists now they appear to be in control? Looking forward to more!

Looking forward to more! Thank you sir and welcome back! I've been trying to catch up on your new fed as well (I think I'm on page 8). Killing Omega was one of the first big things I did way back when (I couldn't stand him and the fact he always lost..lol), but then I kind of didn't know what to do with Mutant. After letting him flounder for years, I finally came up with a plan for him, including some reconciliation for his actions. The Futurists have done what they set out to do...and the dice have hated me throughout this storyline...lol.

The GWF failed....and its all Alpha's fault.
Chaos with the Gold and a blood enemy who is not afraid of the big man, and the Keepers are backing the masked psychopath as well

GWF Chaos 7/8/96 Federation Headquarters, Deimos
Match 1: Chopper Mattock w/ Reynard B. Guile vs. Quasar
Mattock smashes Quasar over the head with a chair during an out-of-ring brawl and gets DQ'ed.
Spaceport: Futurists
The still-celebrating winners of last night's War Games are shown entering the arena
Omega Memorial Highlights
Ring: Futurists
Infinity leads his cult to the ring, grabs a mic, and tells the crowd "Welcome to my GWF!" He turns to Infinity-Plex and asks him if he still wants to defend the Interdimensional Championship, and Plex agrees to keep the match. Infinity then turns to Beta Clarion & Destructon 4200 and asks them if they would like to finish off the Greek Gods tonight, and they jump at the opportunity. Infinity then shocks the crowd by announcing he will show his superiority later tonight by slaughtering the Sons of Omega on live holovision!
Match 2: Asylum (Frenzy & Psycho) vs. Meteor Storm (Astro Turk & Black Hole Bart)
A huge upset as BHB pins Frenzy after an eye rake. Meteor Storm celebrate like they just won a championship.
Commissioner's Office: Fury
Chaos and Commander Sam are trying to formulate a plan to save Star Warrior & Alpha Force, when Fury tells them he has an idea.
Match 3: Janus vs. Justice
In a very quick match, Janus gets a win after GORDIAN KNOT.
Commissioner's Office: Solaris
Although he has been behind the scenes mostly during the last few months, Solaris tells Commander Sam that regardless of what happens tonight, he and the Greek Gods are going back to Ancient Greece next week. Solaris would like Sam to guide the career of Heracles, which Sam says would be an honor.
Match 4: Infinity-Plex vs. U.S. Patriot w/ Ms. Liberty for Interdimensional Championship
Plex goes to the ring without back-up as the rest of the Futurists are preparing for their "event" later. Being alone doesn't seem to faze Plex as U.S. provides little offense, and gets pinned after an Infinity-Plex Spike Piledriver.
Johnny Rocket Interview w/ Destructon 3000
He is unsure on what is going to happen in this new GWF, but W.A.R. will be on the front lines trying to win the GWF back.
Wrestler Check-In:
Multiple wrestlers are shown worried about what is going to happen tonight, both heroes and villains.
Match 5: Greek Gods (Proteus & Actagon) vs. Destructon 4200 & Beta Clarion
The rematch from last night has a different feel to it, which gets worse when the Gods lose after MAGNETIC FIELD.
Ring: Infinity
Star Warrior & Alpha Force are led out in chains, and members of the Futurists guard every possible way to get to the ring. Infinity starts out boasting about the Futurists' victories tonight, and how unstoppable they are. The future will be theirs as well once the Sons of Omega are dead. Infinity starts with Alpha Force, grabbing him by the throat attempting to choke him to death. However, someone bursts through the bottom of the ring---Mutant!
Match 6: Infinity vs. Mutant
Mutant charges towards Infinity, but is stopped by Infinity-Plex. Infinity decides he wants to teach Mutant and the rest of the GWF a lesson, and so he calls for a referee. Infinity completely beats the snot out of Mutant, and once he feels the monster has suffered enough, gets the three-count.
Ring: Infinity
After the win, Infinity kicks his unlikely opponent out of the ring, and wants to get back to the slaughter before there are any other interruptions. Fury appears on the holovision and says he has a big surprise. All of a sudden, dozens of armed officers charge the ring area, keeping the Futurists contained. The captain enters the ring and says "Nice work, Fury. Infinity, I'm with the Time Variance Authority. We've been trying to track you down for a while, and now you are under arrest for multiple timeline infractions." Chaos and Commander Sam come out to verify which people to take into custody. The TVA captain thanks them for distracting the Futurists to be able to set up the sting. Infinity-Plex, Rhea, and Dorado Sundown will remain in the current time period due to holding belts, and TVA allows it because the affect it has on the timeline is minimal. However, if they aren't kept in check, the TVA will be back. The crowd cheers as Infinity is led away in handcuffs.
Champion List:
Champion--Chaos (5/12) Interdimensional--Infinity-Plex (6/10) Cosmos--Defender of the Realm (12/31/95) Women's--Rhea (7/7)
Tag Team--Dorado Sundown (Bullwhip & Blacklash) (3/24) Six-Man Tag Team--Count Necros, Matador & Bishop Hell (5/31)

Promoter's Notes:
Every once in a while I like to stop and revisit history and talk about behind-the-scenes stuff. Since at this writing I am 7 months behind where I am rolling my fed, I'm excited that catching up is in my sights, since it was at 30 years when I started this thread! Anyway, here's some stuff you may or may not find interesting....
-This storyline with the invasion of the Futurists took me through the ringer. Originally envisioned as a sequel to the Gladiators vs. 2074 storyline I did (that has its own thread), stopping playing for 11 years really helped things out. Picking up the game again, I really became more interested in giving the wrestlers distinct personalities on the shows, not just letting Tom do the heavy lifting in the handbooks. This was my chance to do a faction-takes-over storyline (which I had already done a few times), and flesh it out more. I felt that increasing the threat of the Futurists outside of the ring would make for a better story than just wrestler-runs-in-with-chair-and-attacks, although there was some of that too.
-When I started playing this out, I had recently discovered the boards. I was interested in a wrestling game from another company, but realized I already had a wrestling game I enjoyed, so I jumped back in pretty quickly. Reading other feds and reactions to my fed when I started writing it up helped me let my imagination and creativity flow to where I really started to embrace the more sci-fi aspects of the game. Look for that to continue and get more prominent as things go on.
-The Futurists themselves held up in the ring as I expected them to for a while. I had no end date planned, but it started to look like 6 months was going to be a good time limit, especially once Infinity started losing to U.S. Patriot and Dragonmaster. I really let the dice dictate things more than ever before, and thankfully the big beats went as I wanted them to go--Infinity beating Splatter for the Championship, then dropping it to the returning Chaos, Alpha Force winning the Rigel Royal Rumble, and Dorado Sundown being a dominant tag team. And then, War Games happened.....
I thought the Futurists were done. They started to lose, pretty consistently, and I thought I had matchups in War Games that would be favorable to the GWF. It ended up tied going into the last match--no problem. Then Alpha Force lost, which I didn't see coming, since I still play his card at full power and he has been pretty good at winning when I need him to. I had no idea what I was going to do next. When I wrote up the episode where Fury comes back and tells everyone what the Futurists were really about, I introduced the Time Variance Authority as a group looking for Infinity and crew. I added them into that history after the fact because they were a total dues ex machina. I had no idea how to get out of this, because I wanted most of the Classics 3000 guys to be around for the story and then gone. That's what I came up with to solve it, which begs the question...what took them so long to show up? Uh...because time travel rules make no sense? LOL. It feels a little like a cop-out ending, but I guess it beats slaughtering wrestlers on live TV...lol.
-An added wrinkle to my coming back to CotG was that there were so many sets available, I felt like my bootlegs weren't needed anymore. A lot of those guys that I had around from the past either disappeared after the 2095 War Games, or I took care of through retirement. As a matter of fact, I've retired a lot of wrestlers over the last game year to sort of keep in line with the game editions, but some guys have stayed around longer than they should. The beauty of going off-canon. Although, through writing up my fed I've realized there were some interesting stories I missed, and are getting around to doing them in the future, with my own spin. I also am off time-wise with game editions when I bring in new wrestlers, and will use Birthday Bash and Son of Bash to help bridge the gap. I wanted to use BB this upcoming year anyway, and hmmm, they have a guy named Meteor. I have a bootleg named Meteor that just retired......interesting.
-One thing going forward: in these times (although really always, just more prominent now) the Amazonia/Doomsayer storyline seems kind of icky, which is the feel I want it to have, but by the end it will be explained that there is nothing sexual that went on, no matter how many times it is implied. I may have to reiterate this.
I think that covers it, other than little things that I've discussed along the way, like rolling twice for DQ's after going to my first Galacticon. I thank you all for reading this, and my fed in general. I do it for me, and writing it up is kind of therapeutic, so I appreciate the comments, likes, and whatnot. I hope you get some sort of enjoyment going forward as I did.

Love this behind the scenes look. Always fun to learn about the process.
As far as the TVA I am sure they have to follow rules/laws. They can not just hop into a time and arrest people even if they are "bad guys" out of their time. So thus the TVA had to meet with government officials and file out paper work. That of itself would take time. Then toss in the possibility that the owner(s) and or stockholder(s) of the wrestling company wanting to slow the process down while ratings were up and you end up with the TVA coming in a bit later than one would expect.

One of my least favorite types of entertainment is time travel, which makes it surprising I tried to do not one, but two storylines involving it. I think I can promise there won't be a third...unless another set somewhere down the line plays around with it, and I decide it's interesting enough. Before I turned this thread into a straight write-up, it began as a total behind-the-scenes look. Although I enjoy seeing someone's take on Thantos vs. Star Warrior, getting peeks behind the curtain gets my undivided attention every time.
