ESPN’s Billy Corben acknowledged Ferguson’s death late Monday on twitter.
Ferguson last fought Dhafir “Dada 500” Harris at Bellator 149 where he initially beat Harris by TKO in the third round of their fight. However, the fight was later overturned to a no-contest after Ferguson tested positive for the steroid nandrolone, according to urine test results released by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Kimbo Slice became famous when his backyard fight videos went viral on the Internet, which carried on to his big draw in mixed martial arts where he set record numbers.
Ferguson’s professional mixed martial arts record was 5-2, having fights under the biggest MMA promotions in the world inlcuding Elite XC, the UFC, and Bellator MMA.

I'm absolutely shocked by this. I was never really a fan of his fighting but he always seemed like a good person. I always thought it was cool that he called Dana White's bluff and joined the cast of The Ultimate Fighter to earn his way into the UFC. He only fought twice for the UFC and his lower skill set really showed. 42 is way too young to die and it's really sad that he leaves 6 children behind. RIP Kimbo

He always seemed like a really nice dude whose importance to MMA often gets understated. RIP His presence in MMA always brought eyeballs and dollars and those are very important things to help a young sport survive.
