The NWA is dropping more gigantic news! A lot more details will come later, but one of the new territories in the expansion of the NWA will be the Canadian Empire Wrestling promotion. The CWE will play host to the premiere wrestling event of the year, Wrestlemania IV!

Wrestlemania IV will take place at The Skydome in Toronto, Ontario Canada April 7, 2120.

NWA WOMEN'S WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Made in Sin def. 3G (ch)

Wrestlemania IV and the preshow kicked off with tremendou action. The women's world tag team titles showed the kind of intensity the entire night ahead is going to bring to the ring.

Kellie Skater and Tomoka Nakagawa won the belts one month ago at IWWF Geisha Warriors, taking the straps from Reggie Bennett & Yumi Fukawa in a 2/3 falls match. This was not 2/3 falls though.

Made in Sin controlled the bout but this was a great back and forth contest. Nakagawa took the Eighth Deadly Sin a couple times. 3G needed to make saves to stay alive. Taylor Made got out of Tomoka's CRB submission hold.

Skater took Made in Sin's double team finisher twice with Tomoka making a save. Back to back neckbreakers by Taylor Made then put Skater down and the world tag team titles changed hands!

NWA WORLD JR. HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Delirious def. Ricochet (ch)

These two have a lot of history of amazing battles for the World Jr. championship. Delirious held the title for almost six months, beating Ricochet at Starrcade and then losing by D.Q. to him at the Royal Rumble. Ricochet won the gold Feb. 17 at Saturday Night's Main Event.

This match was a train wreck of bodies flying all over the place. Delirious proved to be too much, but Ricochet had his chances and missed the 630 Senton. Delirious used the Red Poison again to get the pin. Delirious is now a three-time World Jr. heavyweight champion.

Midnight Express def. The New Midnight Express

These teams really don't like each other, but have had little opportunity to go at it due to the several-month long Iron Team Tournament. Randy Rose and Dennis Condrey interferred in that first tournament match and sparked the fire between these two teams.

Rose and Condrey were on their game and dominated this match. They hit both Lane and Eaton with many finishers. Still, Jim Cornette's men kept coming back and divorce court on Condrey ended the bout.

Vanessa Kraven def. Trish Stratus

The highly anticipated debut of the much talked about Trish Stratus didn't go her way. The Mountain Vanessa Kraven took it and dished it out. Stratus fought and hung in there but Kraven kept pounding away until getting the win. Kraven will be appearing in the new nCW Femmes Fatales promotion while Stratus will be joining the IWWF.

IWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Briscoes (ch) def. World's Greatest Tag Team

Two great teams that didn't make it to Wrestlemania as part of the Iron Team Tournament. The Briscoes won the IWF tag titles during the tournament and beat Haas and Benjamin. The rematch saw the challengers on top nearly the entire time. They couldn't get that fall though and bad luck hit as Charlie Haas knocked himself out in the corner and Mark Briscoe got the fall.

10-MAN TAG TEAM ELIMINATION MATCH
The Canadian Maggia
Def.
Billy Red Lyons, Red Bastien, Yukon Eric, Ron Hutchison & Bruiser Costa

Almost all the wrestlers are from Canada but they will all be competing in the Canadian Empire Wrestling promotion. The first fall took awhile but the Canadian Maggia went to work on Bruiser Costa and eventually eliminated him by countout.

The Tolos Brothers wiped out Ron Hutchison and Killer Kowalski put him away with the Claw.

Red Bastien didn't fare very well either and Angelo Mosca eliminated him with the sleeper.

Yukon Eric landed the Kodiak Krunch on Mosca and Billy Red Lyons got the sleeper for his team's first elimination.

John Tolos put away Yukon Eric with the flying knee drop, leaving Lyons by himself.

Lyons made the Maggia work but he couldn't take on all of them. John Tolos won the match with the Boston Crab.

The four major wrestling promotions went through the last several months to get to this moment. Wrestlemania IV! The Ultimate Iron Man and Iron Team Tournaments are set to take place.

ULTIMATE IRON MAN / IRON TEAM TOURNAMENT

American Wolves (IWF) def. 2 Cold Scorpio & Marcus Alexander Bagwell (NAWA)

A tremendous opening match. These teams laid it all out there but will there be anything left for the rest of the night? The Wolves had the upperhand most of the time but still at times were near defeat. Scorpio took most of the beating for his team but kept battling. Bagwell was tossed out trying to break up the pin and the Die Hard by Edwards put away Scorpio. (Scorpio 5 coins, Richards 3 coins)

NWA WORLD TV CHAMPIONSHIP

Randy Savage (NAWA) def. Bryan Danielson (IWF)

As awesome as you think this match could be, it was. Incredible back and forth action. Both wrestled very smart and did not play into the others strength. Macho Man used the outside to his advantage though. It really could have gone either way but Danielson never got any of his submission holds applied and Savage was able to land the flying elbow for the win.

Jim Londos & Johnny Saint (ICW) def. The Kangaroos (JWA)

One more spectacular match here at Wrestlemania IV! The surprise European team from ICW pull off another monster win. The Kangaroos dominated in Japan to get here and were on top most of this one. They couldn't put away Londos and Saint. The teams kept going at it and after disposing of Roy Heffernan following the Airplane Spin by Londos they put Al Costello down for the three count. (Saint 6 coins, Londos 3 coins, Costello 4 coins, Heffernan 2 coins)

NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Fred Blassie def. Buddy Rogers (ch)

An unbelievable battle for the world title and Iron Man points. These two just were non-stop back and forth waiting for a chance to win. Rogers never got his figure four applied. Both had those near falls but each kept the bout going. Blassie scored the win with the Southern Neckbreaker with a three-count that was just ridicuously close for Rogers kicking out. Blassie wins his second world heavyweight championship. (Rogers 4 coins, Blassie 3 coins)

IRON WOMAN FINAL
MsChif (Shimmer) def. Molly Holly (IWWF)

These two won their respective Iron Woman Tournaments in SHIMMER and the IWWF to get here. Molly Holly exploded with a lot of offense at the start. MsChif turned things around and used move after move before winning with the Desecrator.

IWF HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Jon Moxley (ch) def. Colt Cabana by C.O.

An absolute epic match as these two left nothing in the back and tried to destroy each other. Cabana held the belt for half of the IWF Iron Man Tournament. He just survived everything Moxley did to him and had many chances to win of his own. Moxley came away with a count out win but the fight between these two is definitely not over. (Cabana 7 coins, Moxley 4 coins)

NORTH AMERICAN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Southern Boys (ch) def. Sheepherders

Every wrestler here is laying it all on the line for Wrestlemania. The Sheepherders were killing Tommy Rich but he wouldn't go down. This one was awesome with all kinds of near falls. Tracy Smothers put away Butch Miller with the Jawjacker. (Rich 6 coins)

ULTIMATE IRON MAN / IRON TEAM TOURNAMENT

2 Cold Scorpio & Marcus Alexander Bagwell (NAWA) def. The Kangaroos (JWA)

Two teams that are 0-1 and can not lose again. Great tag team wrestling and more back and forth moves. Bagwell got the fall on Al Costello.

Randy Savage (ch) (NAWA) def. Buddy Rogers (JWA)

Yet another truly amazing match. Dead even is how this one went with both coming close to winning over and over. Rogers survived back to back flying elbows early on and again did not get his figure four applied. Savage took the win after a flying axe handle to the outside.

American Wolves def. Jim Londos & Johnny Saint

Richards and Edwards totally dominated this match, but it took quite some time to finally win it. Londos took a major beating but wouldn't give up the fight. Saint made a save but couldn't do it again and the Ankle Lock by Richards forced Londos to toss in the towel. (Londos 7 coins)

The American Wolves will win the Ultimate Iron Team Tournament even if they lose their final match.

NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Freddie Blassie (ch) def. Bryan Danielson

Another fantastic encounter as Bryan Danielson came as close as you can to winning the world title. He really controlled the match and took the beatings when Blassie got to the outside and also kicked out after the southern neckbreaker. Danielson had a lot of chances to win but Blassie held on and managed to retain the title with his big finisher. (Blassie 5 coins, Danielson 3 coins)

NWA WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Sherri Martel def. April Hunter (ch)

It was a short time for April Hunter as world champion, but she turned in a title match worthy of the record books. It was nearly all Martel, but Hunter showed she was deserving of carrying the belt. Martel dominated but Hunter still used the Head Hunter twice in a row and kicked out over and over. Martel finally won after the top rope splash. Sherri Martel is now 3-time world champion.

INTERCONTINENTAL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Bruiser Brody (ch) def. Rob Van Dam

A very brutal match as RVD was so close to winning the title. He controlled the fight but Brody would not go down. The jumping leg drop finished off RVD. (Brody 4 coins)

RUSSIAN CHAIN MATCH
NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The Road Warriors def. Ivan Koloff & The Warlord (ch)

A brutal Russian Chain match but the LOD came out on top. Hawk was linked with Koloff and Animal with Warlord. Hawk went to work with the chain and used it off the top rope and a clothesline to pin Koloff. Hawk and Animal are now five-time world tag team champions.

ULTIMATE IRON MAN / IRON TEAM TOURNAMENT

Jim Londos & Johnny Saint def. 2 Cold Scorpio & Marcus Alexander Bagwell

Pure tag team wrestling here. It was back and forth but the European contingent were in trouble a lot more. Londos took the damage but the match kept going. Johnny Saint caught Bagwell with the Johnny Saint Special to win the match.

Buddy Rogers def. Bryan Danielson

The American Dragon ended up 0-3 in this most prestigious tournament, but had three of the best matches anyone has ever seen. This one was monumental. They were pretty much evenly matched and neither could hold the upperhand for long. Finally it was Rogers, after a trip to the outside, able to put on the figure four and win the match.

The American Wolves def. The Kangaroos

One last amazing match by Richards and Edwards, who had already won the tournament before this contest. The Roos came out and annihilated Richards and twice Edwards broke up pins. This one turned into a great one as the Wolves wouldn't quit and nearly won on multipe occasions. A turnbuckle mishap allowed Edwards the chance to score a pin on Al Costello.

It was a battle but Macho Man never let up and was relentless in his attack. Twice off the with the flying elbow and Savage celebrated as the new world heavyweight champion and the Ultimate Iron Man Tournament winner!

Roddy Piper def. Ron Hutchison

The Rowdy One certainly got the crowd stirred up with trash talk, but Ron Hutchison took over early on. He kept Piper grounded but eventually Piper found an opening. He decked Hutchison with a foreign object, but then lifted him up before the three. Piper used the object again, but Hutchison kicked out! A third time the ref didn't see the foreign object and Piper took the fall.

Fred Curry & Lanny Poffo def. Timber & Yukon Eric

A great match between two brand new tag teams. This was a long back and forth contest. A victory roll by Poffo then machine gun dropkicks from Poffo put Yukon Eric away.

Rick Rude def. Mike Graham

Graham started fast but Rude grounded him. After almost winning by count out, Rude worked him over until the Rude Awakening ended the match.

Larry Hennig & Ray Stevens def. S.D. Jones & Johnny Rodz

This was another super long back and forth tag team match. Rodz and Jones fought like never before, taking a beating but not quitting. SD nearly defeated Stevens but the match kept going. The Axe was finally able to pin Jones.

Bobo Brazil def. J.J. Dillon

Bobo Brazil is definitely a big fan favorite in Canada. J.J. Dillon may have surprised some with his offensive attack, at different times having the upperhand. Bobo powered up though and the head butt ended this one.

The Tolos Brothers def. The Taylors

Jimmy Hart brought the Tolos Brothers to the ring, announced as members of the Canadian Maggia. The Taylors fought bravely, but it was all Tolos Brothers. The double flying knee drop downed Chaz Taylor. Hart then directed a post match attack on the Taylors. The team called out the world tag team champions the Road Warriors.

Fred Blassie def. William Muldoon

An unbelievable match as the Solid Man got a shot at the former World champion. Muldoon may have seriously injured Blassie for the future, dropping him on his head over and over. It was brutal but Blassie never stopped fighting. Muldoon showed his intestinal fortitude, being busted open by Blassie. The former champ showed amazing toughness, somehow winning this match after more knee drops. (Blassie 10 coins, Muldoon 5 coins)

The Flying Red Heads def. The Kangaroos

A real big upset win for the very popular duo of Lyons and Bastien. Costello stayed in the ring too long and Bastien's atomic drop got the three count.

NORTH AMERICAN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The Sheepherders def. The Southern Boys (ch)

A big title change on the first show for CEW! Tracy Smother was demolished at the start of the match. Wildfire carried the team but couldn't put away Luke Williams. Once Smothers was back in the Sheepherders capitalized. A running knee smash put him down for the three and the Sheepherders are the new North American tag team champions.

ELIMINATION MATCH
NWA WORLD SIX-MAN TAG TEAM TITLES
The Road Warriors & Andre the Giant def. Killer Kowalski, Angelo Mosca & The Mountie

The LOD and Andre stayed in control most of the early part of the bout. There were plenty of tags but the Maggia didn't get much going. The fans were irate when Animal was disqualified after fighting with the Mountie and Jimmy Hart on the outside.

Hawk and Animal were able to take over and Andre's splash eliminated Kowalski.

Andre was able to kick out after the Shock Stick by the Mountie. Hawk came off the top rope to level the Mountie for the pin.

Hawk flattened Mosca, but Jimmy Hart distracted the referee. John Tolos came down and attack Hawk, but Mosca could not get the three count.

Mosca put up a fight but Hawk and Andre were too much. The big splash ended the match.

Masked Superstar def. S.D. Jones

The opening match was a brutal beatdown. S.D. had zero offense. Zero. The Superstar toyed with the man, then used the spinning neckbreaker and cobra hold to finally take the win.

"Wild" Bull Curry def. J.J. Dillon

It was James J with the offense early on. Curry seemed to just wake up and pounded Dillon down, then kicked him in the face for the three.

Roddy Piper def. Ron Hutchison

A rematch from last week and again Hutchison went after the Hot Rod, and scored a near fall with a top rope move. Piper reasserted control and a nice neckbreaker ended things for Hutchison.

Larry Hennig & Ray Stevens def. Timber & Yukon Eric

Yukon Eric was a spectator in this one. Stevens exploded on Timber, then Hennig creamed him with the Axe. Stevens came in for the Bombs Away and the pin.

The Crusher def. Bruiser Costa

This was a huge brawl of a match. Pretty much out on the floor the whole time. Costa just kept slugging it out with the Crusher and not going down despite so many times he could have lost. Finally the Crusher came out on top. (Costa 4 coins)

The Flying Red Heads def. The Kangaroos

A second straight upset victory for the Red Heads! The Roos had Bastien in the ring a long time, but Lyons came in and double dropkicks put Costello down.

Rick Rude def. Bobo Brazil

A great match and big win for the Ravishing One, who is looking to add another regional title to his resume. Rude took over but Bobo whethered the storm. Late in the match a second Rude Awakening was the difference.

Andre the Giant def. The Mountie

The Giant paid the Mountie back for his using the Shock Stick last week. The Mountie's only offense came on the floor but didn't last long. Andre easily threw the Mountie around the ring before taking the pin.

William Muldoon def. Fred Blassie

These two pretty much duplicated the fantastic match from last week. It was brutal and Muldoon showed he could handle the crazy style of Blassie. Muldoon started dropping him on his head again like last time. Blassie took the beating and fought back. Muldoon kept it up and won with the body lift and throw. (Blassie 9 coins)

The Canadian Maggia def. The Road Warriors & The Taylors

An anti-climatic ending to the show with the Canadian Maggia easily winning this one. Mosca downed Tugboat Taylor with the sleeper.

ROUND 1

The Mountie def. Fred Blassie

A monstrous upset for Jimmy Hart's man. The Mountie knocks off the former world champion! The Mountie had it all go his way from misses in the corner to fights on the floor. Blassie took an early choke slam and kept fighting back. The two went to the floor again and then a choke slam and just a little assist from the ropes allowed the Mountie to score the win!

Killer Kowalski def. Andre the Giant

Another unbelievable upset for Jimmy Hart's Canadian Maggia! Andre the Giant pretty much destroyed Kowalski but couldn't beat him. Kowalski used the claw and battled on the floor. Hart interferred after Andre's big splash. Kowalski picked up the megaphone and drilled the Giant in the head to take the pin.

William Muldoon def. J.J. Dillon by D.Q.

The good matches keep on coming! Muldoon and Dillon went toe to toe. Muldoon was on top more with a lot of throws, but Dillon kept himself in the match until getting DQed.

Roddy Piper def. Bull Curry

The Hot Rod seemed a little more focused in this one and not as much messing around with his opponent or the crowd. It wasn't a long one but still hard-hitting and in and out of the ring. Both wrestlers kept this one going but Piper's sleeper ended it for Curry.

Bruiser Costa def. Ron Hutchison

It was Ron Hutchison starting fast and taking control. Costa came back on the floor though and the Claw ended the match.

The Crusher def. The Masked Superstar

This was another brutal encounter. The Masked Superstar did nearly everything except win. The Crusher took a lot but was able to dish it back. Both men stayed alive but the Crusher pulled it out with the Crusher Bolo.

Angelo Mosca def. Rick Rude by D.Q.

This was an all-out war and Jimmy Hart's third-man in the tournament really handed the Ravishing One a beating. Mosca was on his game and Rude took a great deal of punishment. Mosca took what Rude had and fired back over and over. Rude is after another regional title but he's going to have wait on this one. Rude ended up losing his cool and was DQed. (Rude 5 coins)

Bobo Brazil def. Mike Graham

The night ended in a hurry as Bobo slammed Graham to the mat and grabbed the pin moments after the bell rang.

A short match with Timber never making a tag. The Roos worked him over and then hit the Boomerang. Yukon Eric came in the ring but was disposed of and Timber was hit with the Boomerang again for the pin.

The Flying Red Heads def. The Tolos Brothers

Lyons and Bastien pull off another huge win! Chris Tolos never makes a tag. Bastien put him down with some high-flying and Lyons put him away with the Sleeper.

Larry Hennig & Ray Stevens def. The Taylors

The Taylor took over against Ray Stevens to start the match. The Crippler stayed in and fought until setting Tugboat up for the Axe. Hennig beat on both men until putting Chaz down for the pin.

Fred Curry & Lanny Poffo def. S.D. Jones & Johnny Rodz

This was the best match of the tag tournament so far. S.D. had Poffo ripe for the pickings but couldn't get the pin. The teams went back and forth but Curry eventually sent Rodz down for the three.

QUARTERFINALS

Killer Kowalski def. The Mountie

A match between members of the Canadian Maggia. Jimmy Hart managed to keep things under control. Kowalski had chances to win then the Mountie almost scored the fall. He almost went for the shock stick but changed his mind. The two slugged it out but Kowalski came out on top. (both with 3 coins)

Roddy Piper def. William Muldoon

Muldoon was busted open and Piper repeatedly hit him with a foreign object. The solid man held on, resisting the sleeper, but the ref never saw Piper's international object and the Scotsman moves on.

The Crusher def. Bruiser Costa

An all-out brawl that Costa held his own in. The Crusher took over though and used the Bolo, full nelson and the Bolo again to get the win.

Bobo Brazil def. Angelo Mosca

A great final match of the night. It was really dead even with neither able to hold the upperhand for long. Jimmy Hart had to get involved with the wrestlers on the floor. It backfired though as Bobo got the megaphone and decked Mosca. The Coco Butt then ended the match.

After defeating Fred Blassie in the first round, I had high hopes for The Mountie... That being said, it's still pretty cool that Kowalski is still in the running to become CEW Heavyweight champ... Fun stuff!
