The next edition of Canadian Empire Wresting sees the start of the Crockett Cup Tag Team Tournament! The first round will take place exclusively in Canada during the month of September.
The first two matches are the R&R Express versus the Killer Bees and the Mexican tag team champions Mil Muertes & Pirata Morgan versus the Powers of Pain!

(24) The Powers of Pain Show Notes: in a rematch from last month's CEW Expo Roddy Piper took the world TV title from Horseman Tully Blanchard with the use of a foreign object. Piper also had the Ace Cowboy Bob Orton Jr. with him at ringside for the first time. The Crockett Cup tag team tournament got underway here in CEW! The Bees and the R&R turned in a great scientific bout that was back and forth and a really good contest. The Bees decided to use their illegal switch maneuver and it paid off as Brunzell hit the Killer Dropkick to win the match. The Bees will now go up against the No. 1 seed and the NWA World tag team champions the Road Warriors! Mexican tag team champions Mil Muertes & Pirata Morgan appeared with their new manager Selina de las Reintas. Mr. Fuji has stopped competing in the ring for the time being and is the manager of the Warlord & the Barbarian. It was a very different match then the previous with all power moves back and forth. The Mexican duo came away the victors. They will meet the European tag team champions Steve Williams & Terry Gordy in the second round. |

Greg Valentine took some damage against the Outlaws but Larry Zbyszko turned it around. The Piledriver put away Road Dogg. Canada's own Tolos Bros. quickly defeated Baron Von Raschke & Fritz Von Goering when John Tolos hit a corkscrew move off the top. In the second round of the Crockett Cup the Enforcers will meet the All-Asia tag team champions the Valiants. The Tolos Brothers take on the WWC Puerto Rico tag team champions Bruiser Brody & Stan Hansen. |

(18) The Long Riders def. (15) The Fantastics Show Notes: top to bottom this was one of the best CEW shows ever! The Conways took major punishment but somehow scored a win over the former CEW tag team champions the Tolos Brothers! Jack Brisco was awesome in the gauntlet match, winning three in a row over major competition. Fatigue caught up with him and Ray Stevens came off the top rope for the pin. Roddy Piper used every dirty tactic in the book, beating Yukon Eric with a foreign object to retain the World TV title. The Crusher was seriously put to the test by the Masked Superstar, but the champ held on to the belt. ECW tag team champions RVD & Sabu had a great match with The Patriot & Marcus Alexander Bagwell. Stars & Stripes were last minute replacements for the Briscos as Gerry Brisco is in Japan competing in the Light-heavyweight title tournament. The 5 Star Frog Splash beat the Patriot. The Fantastics fell victim to the bigger Long Riders. On ppv. in the second round of the Crockett Cup the Long Riders will face the North American tag team champions the Mongols while RVD & Sabu will take on the Canadian tag team champions the Kangaroos. |

Fred Blassie won a tremendous Gauntlet Match. In the Crockett Cup, all the way from Mexico, the Wild Samons wiped the ring with Red Bastien & Billy Red Lyons. In one of the most anticipated matches in wrestling history, the Midnight Express met the debuting British Bulldogs. It was all Davey Boy and Dynamite. They worked over Stan Lane non-stop, never allowing a tag until finally getting the pin. |
