The next two months will be make or break for the Golden Knights. They play 13 of their next 19 on the road, after that they close out February with 8 of 9 at home. George McPhee will have to closely monitor how Vegas is preforming especially with several guys set to become UFA's at the end of the season. Does he try to sign them and make a push for a hopefully deep playoff run, or does he start shopping those guys around to see what assets he can get for them. If Vegas can pick up 7 or 8 victories during the 13 on the road I could see McPhee pushing to resign as many of the UFA's as possible before the trade deadline, which is February 26th, right near the end of their 8 of 9 at home to close out February. Also during this next stretch of games Vegas has 3 back to backs involving travel, after they wrap up tonight's California back to back against the Kings. Those back to backs are against St. Louis and Chicago, Florida and Tampa Bay, and finally Winnipeg and Minnesota. I honestly want to see Vegas pick up another forward or two, maybe a defenseman and make a run at the playoffs. Hopefully they can sign at least half of their UFA's to extensions, even if those are just one year deals. For the record the UFA's on the Golden Knights roster are (according to CapFriendly.com): FORWARDSJames Neal Mikhail Grabovski David Perron Jonathan Marchessault DEFENCEMENLuca Sbisa Clayton Stoner Deryk Engelland Jason Garrison In addition to trying to sign or move those players George McPhee also has to decide what to do with the following RFA's: FORWARDSWilliam Karlsson William Carrier Tomas Nosek DEFENCEMENJon Merrill Colin Miller Shea Theodore GOALIESOscar Dansk Needless to say George McPhee will probably be one of the busiest men over the next couple of months. it will be interesting to see who we keep (probably many of them though- team is doing well, players like Las Vegas, T-Mobile is packed night after night, etc) we are set up so well for the future too, one of our multiple 1st round picks from last year's years 2017 NHL draft is Cody Glass and he was named the WHL player of the month for November for the WHL Portland Winterhawks. for the upcoming drafts we have: 2018: 10 picks for 7 rounds 2019: 12 picks for 7 rounds (including 3 2nd round picks and 3 3rd round picks) 2020: 3 more second round picks the future definitely looks very optimistic for my Vegas Golden Knights!

Golden Knights 3, Kings 2 in overtime!
The Knights win their 6th straight game and now have 52 points which is currently more than any other team in the Pacific division, which is currently more than any team in the Central Division, which is currently more than any team in the Metropolitan Division, and is which is currently more than any team in the Atlantic Division except for Tampa Bay who the Knights defeated earlier this month.
Wow, the Knights might actually be for real in their 1st season as an expansion team!
I was planning to go to the game on Tuesday against Nashville but will now have to go to a different game instead as that is the night PWG tickets for the next PWG show go on sale during the game and if I wait until I get back home to order them I would likely be shut out.

The Knights are playing good hockey. I don't know if I would want to face them in a playoff series with how well they are playing.

With that victory Vegas set yet THREE more NHL Records:
1 - Golden Knights won seven straight (record for an Expansion Team)
2 - Have earned points in 12 straight games (record for an Expansion Team)
3 - Improved to 11-1-1 in December for not only an NHL best in December, but they also set the record for the best month by an Expansion Team. (Vegas is also fourth on that list with there 8-2 October Record)
