Also tonight I got my 1st VGK ticket of the 2018-2019 season. It is for a game against Arizona in February and it is another Flight Deck ticket where I get free food and free beer the entire game. I will be going to less VGK games this year than last year as I am currently making less money (teaching only 6 classes instead of 7 classes like last year) and unlike last year this year VGK are being shown on my DISH satellite.

Leaving for tonight's game now. I almost did not go because yesterday I was dagnosed with a nasty sinus infection, but I feel a little better today and do not want to lose my ticket so I am going to tonight's Arizona vs VGK game.

For this year's playoffs, San Jose defeated my team VGK in Game 1 of the first round. No excuses, San Jose was simply faster and better than my Golden Knights that night. But since then the Golden Knights have looked great and won the next two games to take a 2-1 series lead. Tonight, Mark Stone (who VGK traded for at the trade deadline and then signed long term) scored a hat trick (3 goals) and last year's major free agent signing from the Winnipeg Jets Paul Stastny scored 2 goals in a 6-3 victory for VGK. Game 4 is in Las Vegas and hopefully VGK can take a commanding 3-1 series lead.
Go Knights Go!

Golden Knights 5, Sharks 0!
VGK takes a 3-1 series lead! I am surprised San Jose won so many games this year with the way their goalies have played these past 3 games.

Great performance by the Blue Jackets. I thought the Islanders had a great series against the Penguins, but Columbus blew that away.

Congrats to Columbus on their historic upset over Tampa Bay! With Columbus and the Islanders both sweeping their first round series against higher seeded opponents and Colorado and VGK each 1 win away from also getting series winning upsets, it is possible at least 1/2 of the first round series in this year's NHL playoffs will be won by the lower seeded team. I have only been following the NHL Playoffs somewhat closely for the past 2 years with VGK becoming a franchise, but I can already see how much more exciting and competitive the NHL Playoffs are compared to the NBA Playoffs happening at the same time.

As a Red Wings fan and someone who doesn't like Ohio I got to tip my hat to Columbus. This is what Tampa gets for "tying" the 95-96 Wings for most wins. Real hockey fans know the Wings record is better as we still had ties back then.
As for the Knights I have been a playoff fan of theirs so I hope they go all the way this year.

Calgary got eliminated last night by Colorado which means both #1 seeds were eliminated in the first round.
On Thursday San Jose outpayed VGK- no excuses, San Jose was the better team that night and they deserved that win.
Hopefully tonight VGK can win to end this seres, I don't want to go back to San Jose for Game 7
