One of the top Lucha Libre stars of the 1970’s and 1980’s, the masked sensation known simply as Fishman, died on April 8, 2017 from a heart attack.
Fishman – born José Ángel Nájera Sánchez – was trained by Marco Tulio, Bulldog Villegas, El Rebelde and Sunny War Cloud and made his pro wrestling debut in late 1969. By 1971, he was a member of the roster for Empresa Mexicana de la Lucha Libre (EMLL), Mexico (and the world’s) oldest professional wrestling company. He would spend seven years with EMLL (who would become Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) in 1991) and become one of Lucha Libre’s bright new stars.

Former WWE wrestler Matt Anoa’i, known in the ring as Rosey, has died, WWE announced Tuesday. He was 47.
Rosey was part of a long line of professional wrestlers. His father, Sika, is a WWE Hall of Famer, and his brother, Joe, is current WWE superstar Roman Reigns.
“We want to let his fans know that he loved them and the wrestling world so much,” the family said in a statement. “In his passing, he left three beautiful young children and a heartbroken family. Please respect the privacy of his children and family as they mourn the loss of this kind, loving, gentle man, who was a father, son, brother and a superhero to us all.”
Rosey’s run with WWE was fairly brief, from 2002 to 2006, followed by a short stint in Japan. Billed at 6'4", 400 pounds, he participated in a weight loss television program in 2007. He was also hospitalized in 2014 with heart trouble.
Independent wrestler Wayne VanDyke (also known under the name of Richard Delicious), best known for his work with ACW Florida, Full Impact Pro, RONIN and other promotions has passed away at the age of 29.
VanDyke worked an event for the RONIN promotion in Florida at the end of April but was rushed to a local hospital after collapsing following the match, with the belief that he may have suffered a heart attack at that time. VanDyke had been placed into a medically induced coma since then and was also on life support.

Playboy Buddy Rose and Pretty Boy Doug Somers with Sherri Martel were one of the most underrated tag teams of the 1980's. Classic heels. I really wish we had a Doug Somers card to join Rose and Martel in LOW. RIP Pretty Boy.
