Group A & B action
Greg Valentine handed Jimmy Valiant his first tournament defeat with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. 1.0
Ted DiBiase needed six MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPERS to get past Red Bastien as Bastien also suffered his first loss of the tournament. 2.5
Dick Hutton dominated Ox Baker getting the win with an ABDOMINAL STRETCH. D
Gorgeous George was able to frustrate Road Warrior Animal in a back and forth contest to the point where Animal was disqualified for running George into the rails by the fans. 2.5
Giant Baba was never able to really establish himself in his match with Harley Race and fell to the second PILEDRIVER of the bout. 2.0
Bobo Brazil dominated Iron Sheik from start to finish but took things far when he took a chair from Sheik’s own hands and cracked him with it earning a disqualification. The fans are irate at the decision to disqualify Brazil. D
In a stellar contest, The Destroyer remained undefeated in tournament action with a count-out victory over Frank Gotch that saw both men brawling on the apron and Gotch actually back dropping Destroyer into the ring to beat the ten count. 5.0
In a must win encounter for both men, Killer Kowalski downed Jimmy Snuka with back to back CLAW HOLDS in a match that featured Snuka missing a SUPERFLY LEAP. 1.5
Road Warrior Hawk handed Buddy Rogers his first tournament loss in a thrilling back and forth contest that ended with an unlikely deathjump cross body from Hawk for the three count. 4.5
In an intense battle that feature neither man being able to land a finishing move for some time, Johnny Valentine was able to finally connect with an ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER and hand Nick Bockwinkel is first defeat of the tournament. 3.5
After five rounds, The Destroyer remains the only undefeated competitor in block A and leads with 10 points. Nick Bockwinkel is close behind with 8 points and has yet to meet Destroyer in tournament action. Fans will have to wait until the final night of the round robin for that encounter. Frank Gotch is in third with 6 points. Jimmy Snuka is all but eliminated from contention with only two points so far in the tournament.
Things are much much tighter in Block B with a four way tie at the top between Buddy Rogers, Greg Valentine, Jimmy Valiant & Red Bastien with 6 points each. A three way tie for second with 4 points features Bobo Brazil, Road Warrior Hawk & Ted DiBiase. Even Giant Baba with zero points is still in the running!
Up next, a spot show at The CYC in Scranton, PA followed by two days of television tapings!

It is very cool to see The Destroyer undefeated in the A Block but that bout with Nick Bockwinkel looms and that could be his first loss. Bockwinkel is very hard to beat but man I want to see The Destroyer take it. As for the B Block that is incredible as just about anyone can take it at this point. Awesome action my friend.

Despite Johnny Valentine interfering after a SUPERFLY LEAP (5), Jimmy Snuka still managed to best Greg Valentine getting the win after a leap frog and chop in a wild match with plenty of action outside the ring 3.0
Ox Baker destroyed The Sandman with a HEART PUNCH. D
Harley Race pinned Dick Hutton after a PILEDRIVER in a closely contested, but very short, match. D
Destroyer & Giant Baba dominated Gorgeous George & Playboy Buddy Rose with Baba pinning Rose after a NECKBREAK DROP. 1.0
Johnny Valentine defeated Bobo Brazil in a hard hitting contest with an ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER. 2.5

Jo Ho Andrews actually gave Ted DiBiase some anxious moments much to the pleasure of the fans but ended up with a mouth full of cash after a MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER. 1.0
The Valiant Brothers made short work of Lenny Hurst and Jan Nelson with a TOP ROPE ELBOW. D
Red Bastien picked up a fast paced victory over Pete Austin with an ATOMIC DROP. D
Iron Sheik was booed out of the building but won his match with a loaded boot against The Red Demon. D
Dark Match: Johnny Valentine & Greg Valentine came back to defeat Bobo Brazil & Jimmy Snuka when Greg Valentine submitted Jimmy Snuka with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK after Snuka appeared at one point have Johnny Valentine beat with a SUPERFLY LEAP but Greg Valentine made the pin save. 2.0

Playboy Buddy Rose stunned Frank Gotch assaulting him with foreign objects and chair shots before getting the pin on a bloodied Gotch with a choke slam. 1.5
Dick Hutton dominated his encounter with King Kong Bundy picking up the win with ring shaking side salto. 1.5
Road Warrior Animal and Johnny Valiant engaged in a violent and bloody battle until the referee finally disqualified Valiant for running Animal into the ringside rails by the fans. 2.0
Destroyer made short work of Gorgeous George with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. D
In another short contest, The Sandman put away Ox Baker with a SINGAPORE CANE. D
Jimmy Snuka picked up the win in an intense battle with Johnny Valentine with a deathjump cross body block in a bout that saw Snuka miss his SUPERFLY LEAP twice and connect with it early in the action for a near fall. 4.0

Group B Action
Red Bastien used his agility to keep Race off balance but ended up dropping the match via a controversial disqualification when he reversed an Irish whip on the floor sending Race into the ring post. 1.0
Greg Valentine avoided a charge to the corner and then put away Ted DiBiase with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK in a match that saw the fans hate both men. D
Iron Sheik bested Jimmy Valiant in a brawl from start to finish when Valiant was disqualified for running Sheik into the rails by the fans. D
Bobo Brazil had the fans rocking with a back and forth encounter with Road Warrior Hawk that went to Brazil after a COCO BUTT. 1.5
In one of the longest bouts of the tournament, Giant Baba picked up his first victory of the tournament defeating front runner Buddy Rogers with a Baba Chop in an absolute war. 4.5
After five rounds of action, number eight seed Greg Valentine finds himself on top of Group B with eight points. In second, there is a four way tie at six points between Buddy Rogers, Bobo Brazil, Jimmy Valiant and Red Bastien. This is followed by another four way tie at four points between Road Warrior Hawk, Harley Race, Iron Sheik and Ted DiBiase. Giant Baba is at the bottom with just two points.
